- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Norwegian with Fexingo. I am Lucas. Luna: And I am Luna. It is so good to be here again. Lucas: We are diving into movement today. Specifically, vertical and aquatic movement. Luna: I love that. Do you think listeners will want to go climbing or swimming? Lucas: Maybe both. But first, a quick note about how we keep this show running. Luna: Right. If Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with this language, we deliberately do not run ads on these episodes. Lucas: If you want to support that choice, the link is buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo — that's F. E. X. I. N. G. O. Luna: Thanks for listening. Now, let us get moving. Lucas: Our first verb is about going up. It is å klatre. Luna: Å klatre. That sounds strong. Lucas: It means to climb. Let us say it slowly. Å klatre. Luna: Å klatre. Lucas: Now, if I am doing it right now, I say jeg klatrer. Luna: Jeg klatrer. I am climbing. Lucas: Exactly. And if I ask you if you can do it, I say kan du klatre? Luna: Kan du klatre? Can you climb? Lucas: Let us try a scene. Imagine a rock wall. I look at you. Luna: Okay. You say kan du klatre? Lucas: Yes. Kan du klatre? The wall is high. Luna: I say jeg klatrer. I am climbing it. Lucas: Good. Remember å klatre. It is for trees, rocks, ladders. Luna: I remember. Å klatre. Jeg klatrer. Kan du klatre? Lucas: Perfect. Now, what happens when you reach the water? Luna: Do we stop climbing? Lucas: Sometimes. Or maybe we switch to the second verb. Å svømme. Luna: Å svømme. That sounds smooth. Lucas: It means to swim. Slowly. Å svømme. Luna: Å svømme. Lucas: If I am in the water, I say jeg svømmer. Luna: Jeg svømmer. I am swimming. Lucas: And if I ask if you have that skill, I say kan du svømme? Luna: Kan du svømme? Can you swim? Lucas: Let us try a different scene. A lake in summer. Luna: The sun is shining. It is warm. Lucas: I jump in. I say jeg svømmer. Luna: You shout kan du svømme? To check if I am okay. Lucas: Yes. Kan du svømme? And I nod. Jeg svømmer. Luna: That feels easy. Å svømme. Jeg svømmer. Kan du svømme? Lucas: Very good. So we have our two pairs today. Luna: Let us review them together. Start with the first one. Lucas: Å klatre. The infinitive. To climb. Luna: Jeg klatrer. I climb. Or I am climbing. Lucas: Kan du klatre? Can you climb? Luna: And the second pair. Lucas: Å svømme. To swim. Luna: Jeg svømmer. I swim. Lucas: Kan du svømme? Can you swim? Luna: Those are very practical. I use them often. Lucas: They are. Try using them this week. Maybe near some stairs or a pool. Luna: I will try. Thanks, Lucas. Lucas: Practice these till we chat again. See you next time.
