- 0:18SPEAKER_08: It's time for the Dimple Report.
- 0:22SPEAKER_08: News, laughs, and Dplified moments with your host, founder, and chief devils officer of National Doubles Day, Graceful Grady.
- 0:31SPEAKER_08: Remember, dimples are more than a trait.
- 0:34SPEAKER_08: They're a reason to celebrate.
- 1:13SPEAKER_06: You know what I love about doing this show?
- 1:16SPEAKER_06: You never know where the dimples are gonna take us.
- 1:19SPEAKER_06: Sports, entertainment, business, history, inventions, you name it.
- 1:24SPEAKER_06: If there's an interesting story out there and the DDU detects a dimple, we're on it.
- 1:30SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 1:31SPEAKER_06: And remember, around here, we don't discriminate.
- 1:34SPEAKER_06: Cheek dimples, left chins, whisker dimples, dahlier dimples, shoulder dimples, dimples of Venus, if it dips, dents, creases, or makes us take out the dimplifying glass.
- 1:47SPEAKER_06: We're investigating.
- 1:48SPEAKER_06: So get comfortable, put on your dimple visions, and let's see what the dimple detection unit has uncovered this week.
- 1:55SPEAKER_06: Now, you know how we start things around here.
- 1:58SPEAKER_06: It's time for dimples in the headlines.
- 2:42SPEAKER_06: Olivia Miles has been named the 2026 WNBA Rookie of the Year.
- 2:49SPEAKER_06: And she didn't just win it, she won it unanimously.
- 2:53SPEAKER_06: All 74 votes.
- 2:56SPEAKER_06: Olivia averaged 19.8 points, six assists, and 4.7 rebounds per game, and even set the WNBA rookie record for total points with 790.
- 3:09SPEAKER_06: Bruh, bruh, bruh, so Olivia from Graceful Grady, National Dimples Day, and the entire Dimples Nation.
- 3:19SPEAKER_06: Congratulations.
- 3:21SPEAKER_06: Now, while I was watching DNN, the Dimples News Network, I noticed something else.
- 3:27SPEAKER_06: Olivia and the Minnesota Lynx were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the New York Liberty.
- 3:33SPEAKER_06: And you know what?
- 3:34SPEAKER_06: That's okay.
- 3:35SPEAKER_06: Olivia, Michael Joy didn't go to the NBA Finals his rookie year either.
- 3:40SPEAKER_06: Sometimes you gotta get knocked out of the playoffs before you learn how to knock everybody else out.
- 3:46SPEAKER_06: So hold that rookie of the year trophy high, Olivia.
- 3:49SPEAKER_06: You just getting started.
- 3:53SPEAKER_06: Now, from the basketball court, let's head to the baseball diamond because the Major League Baseball playoffs are here.
- 4:01SPEAKER_06: And once again, Dimpo's nation is represented.
- 4:05SPEAKER_06: We got Manny Machado of San Diego Padres, Clef Chen.
- 4:10SPEAKER_06: We got Kyle Schwaber of the Philadelphia Phillies, Clef Chen.
- 4:14SPEAKER_06: And waiting with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Shohei Ortani, Clef Chen.
- 4:19SPEAKER_06: San Diego is in.
- 4:22SPEAKER_06: Philadelphia is in.
- 4:24SPEAKER_06: The Dodgers are in.
- 4:26SPEAKER_06: And those are just three.
- 4:28SPEAKER_06: I could probably sit here and keep naming dimpled players, but Dimples Nation, we only got 30 minutes.
- 4:33SPEAKER_06: And as they say, this show must go on.
- 4:36SPEAKER_06: So good luck to all the members of the Dimples Nation playing October baseball.
- 4:41SPEAKER_06: The DDU will be watching.
- 4:46SPEAKER_06: And finally, Dimples Nation.
- 4:48SPEAKER_06: We have to go to Rio de Janeiro Brasil.
- 4:51SPEAKER_06: Now, as I said last week, I would have been there, but my commitment to our 42 million subscribers was more important.
- 5:01SPEAKER_06: Anyway, it was the Baltimore Ravens, Dallas Cowboys, seven seconds remaining, and two members of Dimples Nation were right in the middle of the wildest endings you will ever see.
- 5:14SPEAKER_06: Baltimore quarterback, Lamar Jackson, Clef Chen, wide receiver, Zay Flowers, cheek dimples.
- 5:20SPEAKER_06: Dallas had just tied the game.
- 5:22SPEAKER_06: Baltimore gets the football back with only seven seconds remaining.
- 5:26SPEAKER_06: Lamar Jackson connects with Zay Flowers for 27 yards.
- 5:31SPEAKER_06: That puts Baltimore in position.
- 5:32SPEAKER_06: Tyler Loop comes onto the field for a 56-yard field goal attempt.
- 5:37SPEAKER_06: And it's good.
- 5:39SPEAKER_06: Ravens win 34-31.
- 5:41SPEAKER_06: And CBS announcer, the legendary Jim Nance, who is also a member of the Dimples Nation by way of cheek dimples.
- 5:50unknown: Shh.
- 5:51SPEAKER_06: Had the perfect name for what we just witnessed.
- 5:55SPEAKER_06: Trio and Rio.
- 5:56SPEAKER_06: Now, question was that electric call for the three points or for the players?
- 6:02SPEAKER_06: Jackson, Flowers, and Loop.
- 6:05SPEAKER_06: Only Jim knows.
- 6:06SPEAKER_06: And here's what makes it even crazier.
- 6:09SPEAKER_06: That seven second possession became the quickest game-winning drive in NFL record books.
- 6:14SPEAKER_06: Now, that is what I called getting your business done quickly.
- 6:18SPEAKER_06: Congratulations to the Baltimore Ravens and Lamar and Zay, the DDU saw you.
- 6:23SPEAKER_06: Two members of Dimples Nation helping set up history in Brazil.
- 6:28SPEAKER_06: Trio and Rio.
- 6:29SPEAKER_06: I think Jim Nass gave us a keeper with that one.
- 6:34SPEAKER_06: We will be right back.
- 6:36SPEAKER_07: Hi.
- 6:37SPEAKER_07: Cute dimples.
- 6:38SPEAKER_07: Is that your best pickup line?
- 6:40SPEAKER_07: No pickup line.
- 6:42SPEAKER_07: Just complimenting your dimples.
- 6:44SPEAKER_07: Did you know July 9th is National Dimples Day?
- 6:47SPEAKER_07: Really?
- 6:48SPEAKER_07: Yeah, they have a fun site and merchandise.
- 6:52SPEAKER_07: Check it out.
- 6:53SPEAKER_07: NationalDimplesday.com.
- 6:56SPEAKER_11: NationalDimplesday.com?
- 6:58SPEAKER_11: Got it.
- 6:59SPEAKER_07: May I uh buy you a cup of coffee?
- 7:01SPEAKER_07: I feel something brewing between us.
- 7:04SPEAKER_11: Sure.
- 7:06SPEAKER_06: Welcome back, Dimples Nation.
- 7:08SPEAKER_06: We've gone from basketball to baseball to football.
- 7:11SPEAKER_06: So now I think we earn ourselves a little snack.
- 7:15SPEAKER_06: And I've got something sweet for you.
- 7:17SPEAKER_06: Really sweet.
- 7:18SPEAKER_06: In fact, pure sugar sweet.
- 7:21SPEAKER_06: Dimple's Nation, today's Dimple Spotlight proves that history sometimes has one heck of a sense of humor.
- 7:27SPEAKER_06: Because if I ask you to name the profession of the man who helped give the world modern cotton candy, you will probably say a candy maker?
- 7:36SPEAKER_06: Nope.
- 7:37SPEAKER_06: A chef?
- 7:38SPEAKER_06: Nope.
- 7:39SPEAKER_06: Maybe even somebody who owned a carnival.
- 7:41SPEAKER_06: Nope.
- 7:42SPEAKER_06: Try a dentist.
- 7:44SPEAKER_06: That's right.
- 7:45SPEAKER_06: Meet Dr.
- 7:46SPEAKER_06: William J.
- 7:48SPEAKER_06: Morrison of Nashville, Tennessee, a dentist.
- 7:51SPEAKER_06: And according to our Dimple Detection Unit, a member of Dimples Nation with a cleft chin.
- 7:58SPEAKER_06: And in 1897, Morrison teamed up with confessioner John C.
- 8:02SPEAKER_06: Wharton to develop what they called an electric candy machine.
- 8:07SPEAKER_06: Their machine heated sugar and spun it through tiny holes, creating those incredibly thin strands of sugar that eventually became the fluffy treat we recognize today as cotton candy.
- 8:19SPEAKER_06: They applied for their patent on December 23rd, 1897, and the patent was granted in 1899.
- 8:28SPEAKER_06: But here's where this story gets really sweet.
- 8:31SPEAKER_06: In 1904, Morrison and Wharton took their creation to the St.
- 8:35SPEAKER_06: Louis World Fair.
- 8:36SPEAKER_06: But back then, they weren't calling it cotton candy.
- 8:41SPEAKER_06: Oh no.
- 8:42SPEAKER_06: Dimple's Nation, are you ready for this?
- 8:44SPEAKER_06: They called it Fairy Floss.
- 8:47SPEAKER_06: And apparently, people couldn't get enough of this stuff.
- 8:50SPEAKER_06: Morrison and Wharton sold it for 25 cents a box and moved roughly 68,000 boxes during the World's Fair.
- 8:58SPEAKER_06: Now, can we appreciate the irony here?
- 9:01SPEAKER_06: A dentist selling tens of thousands of boxes of sponge sugar.
- 9:06SPEAKER_06: If Dr.
- 9:07SPEAKER_06: Morrison was still alive, I would ask him, were you creating customers for the candy business or creating customers for the dental business?
- 9:16SPEAKER_06: Either way, that is what I call job security.
- 9:20SPEAKER_06: And here's another interesting twist.
- 9:23SPEAKER_06: Sponge sugar treats existed before Morrison and Wharton.
- 9:26SPEAKER_06: Their big innovation was the electric machine that made producing fluffy confession practical on a much larger scale.
- 9:34SPEAKER_06: So, more than 125 years later, every time you walk to a carnival or a fair and see that big cloud of pink or blue cotton candy, remember the dentist with the cleft chin who helped make it happen.
- 9:47SPEAKER_06: Dr.
- 9:47SPEAKER_06: William Morrison, you've officially been Dimple's spotlight.
- 9:53SPEAKER_06: Now in Dimples Nation, you know what time it is.
- 9:57SPEAKER_06: It's trivia time.
- 9:58SPEAKER_06: Grab a pen and a piece of paper.
- 10:01SPEAKER_06: We will be right back.
- 10:10SPEAKER_04: Oh darling.
- 10:14SPEAKER_04: When you smile at me, there's a magic in the air, those little dimples on your cheeks.
- 10:32SPEAKER_03: I could follow anywhere that sweet left.
- 10:46SPEAKER_03: How it steals the midnight life.
- 10:52SPEAKER_14: Temple me dark, temple me true, every little card just push me to July ninth we celebrate National Temple's Day, so don't delay before the night.
- 12:32SPEAKER_06: Question number one.
- 12:34SPEAKER_06: What was Dr.
- 12:35SPEAKER_06: William Morrison's profession?
- 12:37SPEAKER_06: A.
- 12:37SPEAKER_06: Pharmacist?
- 12:39SPEAKER_06: B.
- 12:40SPEAKER_06: Dentist?
- 12:41SPEAKER_06: C Barber.
- 12:44SPEAKER_06: Lock it in.
- 12:50SPEAKER_06: The correct answer is the answer is B.
- 12:55SPEAKER_06: Dentist.
- 12:56SPEAKER_06: Question number two.
- 12:58SPEAKER_06: What was cotton candy code when Morrison and Wharton introduced it and in 1904 World's Affair?
- 13:05SPEAKER_06: A sugar clouds.
- 13:08SPEAKER_06: B sweet threads.
- 13:10SPEAKER_06: Or C Fairy Floss.
- 13:19SPEAKER_06: The correct answer is, and the answer is C.
- 13:24SPEAKER_06: F Fairy Floss.
- 13:26SPEAKER_06: Question number three.
- 13:27SPEAKER_06: The final question.
- 13:29SPEAKER_06: Approximately, how many boxes of Fairy Floss did Morrison and Wharton sell in a 1904 World Spare?
- 13:36SPEAKER_06: A.
- 13:37SPEAKER_06: 6,800.
- 13:39SPEAKER_06: B 28,000.
- 13:42SPEAKER_06: Or C sixty-eight thousand.
- 13:51SPEAKER_06: The correct answer is the answer is C.
- 13:56SPEAKER_06: Approximately sixty-eight thousand boxes.
- 13:59SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 14:00SPEAKER_06: That's a whole lot of sugar.
- 14:02SPEAKER_06: And probably a whole lot of future dental appointments.
- 14:07SPEAKER_06: Alright, Dimples Nation.
- 14:09SPEAKER_06: We've learned a history.
- 14:10SPEAKER_06: We've tested your cotton candy knowledge.
- 14:12SPEAKER_06: And now there's only one thing left to do.
- 14:18SPEAKER_06: Put some music behind it.
- 14:20SPEAKER_06: Dimples Nation.
- 14:22SPEAKER_06: Now, you know I like to give my singing group Dimpo Swabe and the Dimplets a challenge.
- 14:28SPEAKER_06: And today, I want some Japanese rhythm, reggae, and ektor.
- 14:33SPEAKER_06: And since we're talking about a treat for kids, bring back our children's choir, the Dimple Sprouts.
- 14:42SPEAKER_06: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Dimpo Swabe and the Dimplets.
- 14:48SPEAKER_06: Featuring the Dimple Sprouts, take it away.
- 15:09SPEAKER_03: There's something sweet in the air tonight.
- 15:22SPEAKER_13: Sugar spinning softly floating through the air.
- 15:26SPEAKER_13: A little taste of history waiting for us there.
- 15:31SPEAKER_03: Nashville had a dentist with an interesting grin.
- 15:35SPEAKER_03: William Morrison.
- 15:38SPEAKER_03: That famous cleft chin.
- 15:40SPEAKER_03: Sweet, sweet.
- 15:49SPEAKER_03: Spin it's slow, spin it sweet.
- 15:52SPEAKER_03: Very fast dancing to the bee.
- 15:54SPEAKER_03: Light as a cloud.
- 15:59SPEAKER_03: Oh take a little sugar.
- 16:03SPEAKER_03: Let the good side.
- 16:23SPEAKER_03: Spinning little ribbons of sweetness to the ass.
- 16:27SPEAKER_03: Dance Louis came calling a night.
- 16:30SPEAKER_03: 1904.
- 16:32SPEAKER_03: Fairy Frost was spinning.
- 16:34SPEAKER_03: Take it off.
- 16:37SPEAKER_03: Round and round.
- 16:39SPEAKER_03: Sweetness to the air.
- 16:41SPEAKER_03: Funny how I dent it.
- 16:44SPEAKER_03: Put the sugar there.
- 16:46SPEAKER_03: Mmm.
- 16:46SPEAKER_03: That's what we call Job Security.
- 16:53SPEAKER_03: Baby flops dancing to the beach.
- 17:00SPEAKER_03: Great is down another story.
- 17:05SPEAKER_03: Celebrating smiles and history.
- 17:27SPEAKER_13: Dimple sprouts?
- 17:28SPEAKER_03: What are you here?
- 17:29SPEAKER_13: What was it called?
- 17:31SPEAKER_09: Who helped make it famous?
- 17:35SPEAKER_09: And what did the DDU find?
- 17:37SPEAKER_03: A cut chicken.
- 17:40SPEAKER_09: The sprouts have been doing their homework.
- 18:34SPEAKER_03: Spin it's slow.
- 18:41SPEAKER_03: Dimples nation.
- 19:20SPEAKER_03: Clover chair.
- 19:22SPEAKER_03: Cotton candy.
- 19:26SPEAKER_13: National Timples Day too.
- 19:31SPEAKER_03: Sweet as fairy flocks.
- 19:35SPEAKER_03: Smooth as a smile.
- 19:39SPEAKER_01: July 9th.
- 19:41SPEAKER_03: See you there.
- 19:48SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 19:49SPEAKER_06: I like that.
- 19:51SPEAKER_06: We will be right back.
- 19:53SPEAKER_09: There's a pattern hiding in plain sight.
- 19:57SPEAKER_09: The last three Super Bowl MVPs all had some form of dimple.
- 20:02SPEAKER_09: The latest Major League Baseball MVPs.
- 20:05SPEAKER_09: Some form of dimple.
- 20:07SPEAKER_09: The latest best actor and best actress Oscar winners.
- 20:11SPEAKER_09: Some form of dimple.
- 20:13SPEAKER_09: The last three masters champions.
- 20:16SPEAKER_09: Some form of dimple.
- 20:17SPEAKER_09: We're not saying dimples create champions.
- 20:20SPEAKER_09: We're saying champions with dimples keep showing up.
- 20:23SPEAKER_09: Now imagine turning that pattern into a prediction.
- 20:27SPEAKER_09: Dimple bets.
- 20:28SPEAKER_09: Where the next question could be.
- 20:40SPEAKER_06: Alright, Dimples Nation.
- 20:42SPEAKER_06: From cotton candy to couture.
- 20:44SPEAKER_06: We just talked about a dentist who helped change the way America enjoys something sweet.
- 20:49SPEAKER_06: Now we're switching from something you eat to something you wear.
- 20:54SPEAKER_06: And the DDU has been walking the runway.
- 20:57SPEAKER_06: Today's dimple drop goes to one of the biggest names in American fashion, designer Kristen Seriano.
- 21:04SPEAKER_06: And what did we detect?
- 21:06SPEAKER_06: You guessed it.
- 21:07SPEAKER_06: Cleft Chin.
- 21:09SPEAKER_06: Kristen was raised in Annapolis, Maryland, and his road to the fashion world started early.
- 21:14SPEAKER_06: He spent his freshman year at Broadneck High School before transferring to the Baltimore School for the Arts, where he was able to focus on fashion design.
- 21:22SPEAKER_06: Seriano became a household name after winning Project Runway and went on to build his own fashion house, dressing major stars and becoming known for making fashion more inclusive.
- 21:34SPEAKER_06: So, Christian, the DDU has examined the runway.
- 21:38SPEAKER_06: We've checked the designs, we've checked the chin, and today we're dropping some recognition your way.
- 21:44SPEAKER_06: Christian Seriano, you're officially received the dimple drop.
- 21:50SPEAKER_06: We will be right back.
- 21:52SPEAKER_11: Cheek dimples, sweet and fine.
- 21:54SPEAKER_11: Shin so bold, that perfect line.
- 21:56SPEAKER_11: Back temples, ooh, they shine.
- 21:58SPEAKER_11: Every curve, every smile divine.
- 22:01SPEAKER_11: Confidence, that's the core.
- 22:02SPEAKER_11: Style in love, we give you more.
- 22:04SPEAKER_11: Flaunch your dimples there for door.
- 22:06SPEAKER_11: Chew your charm at the dimple store.
- 22:09SPEAKER_11: Every dimple, every dimple deserves its shine.
- 22:13SPEAKER_11: The dimple stores a car.
- 22:23SPEAKER_06: Now, Dimple's Nation, it's time to slow things down.
- 22:27SPEAKER_06: It's time for Dimple Versus.
- 22:40SPEAKER_02: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the show.
- 22:46SPEAKER_02: Now it's Dimple versus Let the Gobes Flow.
- 22:51SPEAKER_02: With graceful Granny on the mic so steady from the Dimple Report and the poetry's dimple ready.
- 23:07SPEAKER_06: Dimples Nation, let me grab my shades.
- 23:16SPEAKER_06: A smile can arrive without making a sound.
- 23:20SPEAKER_06: One little dimple turns everything around.
- 23:24SPEAKER_06: Whether cheek or chin, wherever yours may be, every little impression holds its own history.
- 23:49SPEAKER_06: All right, Dimples Nation from Poetry, we're heading into the wilderness.
- 23:54SPEAKER_06: And I hope somebody packed some food.
- 23:56SPEAKER_06: Because it's time for film and TV, Dimplified.
- 24:11SPEAKER_06: Today's selection takes us to the new survival adventure, Heart of the Beast, and starring in it, Brad Pitt.
- 24:20SPEAKER_06: DDU classification, Dimples.
- 24:23SPEAKER_06: Brad Pitt plays James Belmont, a special forces officer stranded in the Alaska wilderness after a plane crash.
- 24:30SPEAKER_06: But he's not alone.
- 24:31SPEAKER_06: He has his best friend, a combat dog named Odin.
- 24:35SPEAKER_06: And the two have to survive the wilderness together.
- 24:38SPEAKER_06: Now, I love this setup because sometimes you don't need 20 superheroes, spaceships, and the end of the universe.
- 24:45SPEAKER_06: Give people Brad Pitt, a dog, the wilderness, and some dimples.
- 24:50SPEAKER_06: They're listening.
- 24:51SPEAKER_06: So with that said, Heart of the Beast, you're officially filming TV Dimplified.
