Nicaragua’s President Daniel Ortega has declared the country will no longer hold elections, effectively sealing his grip on power as his term ends next year. Speaking at a Sandinista revolution commemoration, he declared the era of foreign-backed opposition is over, while his wife Rosario Murillo, now co-president, solidifies their control over all branches of government.
