- 1:17Speaker 1: and Notre Dame at ten. There's some more SEC teams
- 1:22Speaker 1: sprinkled in. Texas is eleven, Oklahoma is twelve, Vanderbilt is sixteen,
- 1:28Speaker 1: Missouri is twenty two, and Tennessee is twenty five. I'm
- 1:33Speaker 1: not sure if that Tennessee ranking is with or without

- 1:59Speaker 1: Sanders has stripped offensive coordinator Pat Shermer of his play
- 2:02Speaker 1: calling duties. Following the fifty three to seven loss to
- 2:06Speaker 1: Utah October twenty fifth. Sanders moved play calling over the
- 2:10Speaker 1: tight ends coach and passing game coordinator Brett Bartaloni, who
- 2:14Speaker 1: called plays and that did work too well? Well, it
- 2:17Speaker 1: worked okay. They scored seven in the fifty three to
- 2:21Speaker 1: seven loss, they scored seventeen and the fifty two to
- 2:24Speaker 1: seventeen loss to Arizona. Colorado three and six. Texas and

- 3:18Speaker 1: I think the Dodgers were in that too. Days after
- 3:25Speaker 1: the Blue Jays lost to the Dodgers, Veterans starting pitcher
- 3:28Speaker 1: Shane Bieber has made his decision to stay in Toronto
- 3:33Speaker 1: sixteen million dollar player option for one more year. The

- 5:11Speaker 1: an alternate at the Walker Cup, selected as Player of
- 5:14Speaker 1: the Year. Tiger was AJGA's Player of the Year twice
- 5:19Speaker 1: in ninety one and ninety two. Charlie won his first
- 5:23Speaker 1: big championship in May at the Team Taylor Made Invitational.
- 5:29Speaker 1: The second team included Cameron Coocher, son of Matt. Cameron
- 5:35Speaker 1: is going to golf at TCU starting next year, so
- 5:41Speaker 1: we got that going on for us. Which is nice.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Coming up on Monday. I want to mention this Monday

- 8:15Speaker 6: NASCAR Truck Series race recap from Phoenix Raceway. I'm Kerrie Murphy.
- 8:18Speaker 6: Corey him wins the race and the championship.
- 8:21Speaker 7: Yeah, I can't say I've felt this feeling, you know
- 8:24Speaker 7: in past years.
- 8:25Speaker 8: The first year I was a part of the Championship.
- 8:27Speaker 7: Four, you know, I was not a rookie technically, but
- 8:31Speaker 7: Brookie from a full time perspective, and I was just
- 8:34Speaker 7: kind of happy to be there. But I also knew we
- 8:35Speaker 7: had a lot of momentums, so I wanted to prove
- 8:36Speaker 7: myself and obviously, you know, things got of control and
- 8:39Speaker 7: didn't get that one.
- 8:40Speaker 8: And last year I felt it was it was our year.
- 8:42Speaker 7: We had them amentum and you know, for lack of
- 8:44Speaker 7: a better word, kind of got our teeth kicked in.
- 8:46Speaker 8: And this year we came back and I mean.
- 8:49Speaker 7: Broke just about every record he possibly could, you know,
- 8:52Speaker 7: And that felt the pressure that if I didn't get
- 8:55Speaker 7: the championship that cherry on top that, you know, the
- 8:57Speaker 7: season obviously would have been really good and where we're
- 9:00Speaker 7: but you know, that was that was the ultimate goal.
- 9:03Speaker 7: Even if we had no you know, Winstorre name in
- 9:06Speaker 7: twenty twenty five, we still were trying to win the
- 9:08Speaker 7: championship that our That was our number one goal.
- 9:10Speaker 8: So saw a lot of pressure to get that done.
- 9:13Speaker 7: And especially being with the best you know truck team
- 9:15Speaker 7: in the garage as well, I've felt a lot of pressure.
- 9:16Speaker 8: To fulfill that and make the most of it.
- 9:20Speaker 7: Certainly had some some crazy stuff going at the end
- 9:22Speaker 7: there that almost took us out of it, but uh,
- 9:25Speaker 7: it was just meant to be for sure.
- 9:26Speaker 6: Time at Jeski was second, followed by Caden Honeycutt, Lane Riggs,
- 9:29Speaker 6: and Rojack Haruth rounds out the top five. Up next
- 9:33Speaker 6: for the NASCAR Truck Series is the Champions Banquet the
- 9:36Speaker 6: off season and Daytona to kick off the twenty twenty
- 9:39Speaker 6: sixth season.
- 9:40Speaker 9: You're on the final app my perfect day as sand
- 9:45Speaker 9: saltwater in France, but my moderate to severe plax risis

- 11:19Speaker 12: Strange had eyes like thunder, the lips they were sad time.
- 11:27Speaker 4: His little lost love lay asleep.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Ar I mean, it wasn't terrible. It just wasn't that,
- 11:34Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. It's all welly Wednesday, by
- 11:37Speaker 1: the way, speaking of music, Next Tuesday, Aiden Ross from
- 11:43Speaker 1: Team Nile joins me and the Voice from College Station
- 11:47Speaker 1: Texas at Texas A and M University. Aiden Ross with
- 11:52Speaker 1: me for all of you Voice fans next Tuesday on
- 11:59Speaker 1: the program Okay coming Up Saturday afternoon, two thirty Texas
- 12:09Speaker 1: A and M Maszoo, Joe Tessitore on the call I
- 12:15Speaker 1: Like Him, Jesse Palmer, Katie George on the sideline that
- 12:20Speaker 1: game on ABC at two thirty on Saturday afternoon. Here
- 12:28Speaker 1: is Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz.
- 12:32Speaker 13: By congratulating coach Gates and coach Harper both on getting
- 12:36Speaker 13: season opening wins last night. Coach Gates winning on the
- 12:40Speaker 13: road at Howard and then coach Harper on the women's
- 12:43Speaker 13: basketball team defeating UCA here at home last night. It's
- 12:45Speaker 13: always great to start fast, and now all sports really
- 12:49Speaker 13: are kind of kicked off with women's basketball, men's basketball, football,
- 12:53Speaker 13: you got gymnastics is getting ready to start their season, wrestling, volleyball.
- 12:59Speaker 4: So it's awesome time, fun time.
- 13:01Speaker 13: Here at the University of Missouri, and look forward to
- 13:03Speaker 13: continue student support as we have a great opportunity here
- 13:08Speaker 13: versus number three Texas A and M. Very excited about
- 13:11Speaker 13: the opportunity to play a top team in the country
- 13:14Speaker 13: here at home. Another sellout, which is a tribute to
- 13:18Speaker 13: the great fans that we have and appreciate our student section,
- 13:22Speaker 13: our fans for making this just an awesome environment. It's
- 13:25Speaker 13: going to be a challenging matchup. I think Mike Elko
- 13:27Speaker 13: has done a tremendous job in two years at Texas
- 13:30Speaker 13: A and M. He has built a very good, talented
- 13:33Speaker 13: deep roster. He's done an excellent job not only high
- 13:35Speaker 13: school recruiting, but also does a really good job out
- 13:38Speaker 13: of the portal He's combined those teams. They have a
- 13:41Speaker 13: very talented football team, but they also have a tough
- 13:44Speaker 13: football team. You can tell that his culture and fingerprint
- 13:48Speaker 13: is all over it from top to bottom, you know, offensively,
- 13:51Speaker 13: calling Klein lean the way does an outstanding job offensively.
- 13:54Speaker 13: I think Bazoo fans know all too well about calling
- 13:56Speaker 13: and his job, you know, as a player, but also
- 13:59Speaker 13: as a coordinator.
- 13:59Speaker 4: We've him many times.
- 14:01Speaker 13: He's developed that quarterback and developed the offensive system around Marcel,
- 14:06Speaker 13: who's developing into what I think is a Heisman type season.
- 14:10Speaker 13: He is playing at a really really high level, distributes
- 14:13Speaker 13: the ball really well, not only vertically but horizontally, and
- 14:16Speaker 13: then man, his added dimension when he runs is really
- 14:20Speaker 13: really impressive. It's got some Lamar Jackson esque type qualities
- 14:23Speaker 13: to it. From when I was in the ACC in
- 14:28Speaker 13: twenty seventeen going against him, in twenty sixteen Heisman seasons.
- 14:33Speaker 13: They're wide receivers. They attacked the transfer portal. Conception On
- 14:37Speaker 13: is a tremendous player along with Mario Kraver. Those two
- 14:41Speaker 13: guys are dynamic, great speed, open space, catch the ball well,
- 14:46Speaker 13: attack it well.
- 14:47Speaker 4: They use them in multiple ways.
- 14:49Speaker 13: Offensive line, very I think the strength of their team
- 14:52Speaker 13: for returning starters, do.
- 14:54Speaker 4: A really good job establishing the run.
- 14:56Speaker 13: They have a little setback with losing their startel back,
- 15:00Speaker 13: you don't really notice because the depth that they have
- 15:03Speaker 13: with everybody else there. So I mean a tremendous challenge offensively, defensively,
- 15:08Speaker 13: physically physical, tough minded defense, very multiple do not want
- 15:13Speaker 13: to be in third downs against these guys. They do
- 15:15Speaker 13: an unbelievable job second in the country third down defenses,
- 15:19Speaker 13: only converting about twenty percent of the time.
- 15:22Speaker 4: They're number one in the country in sacks.
- 15:25Speaker 13: Again, they did a really good job of attacking holes
- 15:29Speaker 13: through the transfer portal. Getting some local guys here that
- 15:33Speaker 13: we you know, missed on with Cashus Hall and William Lee,
- 15:37Speaker 13: went and got some other guys that have played some
- 15:39Speaker 13: really really good football for him. So very very very challenging,
- 15:44Speaker 13: you know, for our team it's really about us focusing
- 15:47Speaker 13: on helping Matt execute at the highest level possible. We're
- 15:51Speaker 13: excited about Matt's opportunity and what he's earned.
- 15:55Speaker 4: You know, he has done a really good.
- 15:57Speaker 13: Job in practice of leadership, stepping up, embracing the moment,
- 16:01Speaker 13: embracing the opportunity.
- 16:04Speaker 4: You know, there was a time in the early.
- 16:06Speaker 13: Part of the season where bow was a little bit
- 16:09Speaker 13: beat up and Matt was getting extra reps with the ones,
- 16:11Speaker 13: and those are gonna pay off now for us, So
- 16:13Speaker 13: that's that's been a real positive. We really were adamant
- 16:17Speaker 13: throughout spring, throughout the summer, and even in fall camp
- 16:20Speaker 13: to really focus on three spots to make sure that
- 16:23Speaker 13: Matt was getting developed because we knew he was the
- 16:26Speaker 13: future of the program at the quarterback position.
- 16:28Speaker 4: But the future is now.
- 16:30Speaker 13: I think it's important for us not to put too
- 16:32Speaker 13: high of expectations on Matt. He does not have to
- 16:35Speaker 13: win this game by himself. He's got a really good
- 16:37Speaker 13: core of players around him. We just have to play
- 16:39Speaker 13: complimentary football in all three phases. Defensively, got to do
- 16:43Speaker 13: a really good job of slowing them down.
- 16:45Speaker 4: Special teams has.
- 16:46Speaker 13: Got to do a great job covering kicks and then offensively,
- 16:49Speaker 13: you know, all ten, everybody, coaches, players, everybody have to
- 16:53Speaker 13: has to reduce the friction that Matt feels. And so
- 16:57Speaker 13: that'll be the challenge this week. He just needs to
- 16:59Speaker 13: be himself and we're excited for the opportunity.
- 17:03Speaker 4: So with that, I'll open it up for questions. El
- 17:07Speaker 4: what you got.
- 17:08Speaker 14: Coach with A and m It seems like a team
- 17:10Speaker 14: that just does a lot of things really well. What's
- 17:12Speaker 14: the challenge of attacking a team that has that many
- 17:14Speaker 14: facets that they do.
- 17:15Speaker 13: In Yeah, I think that's the challenge is they do
- 17:18Speaker 13: a lot of different things well and whether it's you know,
- 17:21Speaker 13: their punt return game is really good, their kickoff return
- 17:23Speaker 13: games really good, their vertical pass games really good. They're
- 17:26Speaker 13: able to claw you out running the football. Defensively, they're
- 17:29Speaker 13: able to stop the run, force one on one matchups,
- 17:32Speaker 13: make you execute for four quarters. You know, it's a
- 17:37Speaker 13: really well built SEC football team, and it reminds you
- 17:41Speaker 13: of going against the big time teams in the past,
- 17:45Speaker 13: like what Georgia and Alabama and those kind of games
- 17:50Speaker 13: have been, where you knew that any one mistake could
- 17:53Speaker 13: lead to a break in the dam and that it
- 17:55Speaker 13: was going to be a sixty minutes.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Where every inch was earned.
- 17:59Speaker 13: And that's why I'm so complimentary of how quickly he's
- 18:03Speaker 13: been able to build that kind of team and roster.
- 18:06Speaker 15: You I both in that last game and going forward.
- 18:10Speaker 16: Does there have to be any pairing down of the
- 18:12Speaker 16: playbook with matters?
- 18:13Speaker 17: It simply more leaning into maybe what his strengths were versus.
- 18:18Speaker 15: What Bo did well. I mean, does he have the
- 18:19Speaker 15: full playbook at his disposal.
- 18:21Speaker 4: At this point.
- 18:22Speaker 13: Yeah, it's not really the full playbook. It's about playing
- 18:25Speaker 13: to what.
- 18:25Speaker 4: His strengths are. I think you answered your O question.
- 18:27Speaker 13: You know, are there things that we're going to add?
- 18:31Speaker 13: Probably not because he hasn't had a ton of reps
- 18:33Speaker 13: of it, but are there things that he's more comfortable
- 18:36Speaker 13: with than maybe Bo was? Absolutely, and so we can
- 18:40Speaker 13: push those things in the playbook that maybe haven't been shown.
- 18:43Speaker 13: You know, there were things that we thought Bo did
- 18:46Speaker 13: really well that that's what we kind of emphasized, and
- 18:48Speaker 13: there's things that Matt does well that we will emphasize
- 18:50Speaker 13: moving forward.
- 18:52Speaker 15: Back you mentioned Texas and M's third nine defense.
- 18:56Speaker 18: I think yes, still with adult right one in the country,
- 18:58Speaker 18: what is it that they do is that what they
- 18:59Speaker 18: do on early dimes first and second games that gets
- 19:02Speaker 18: them off the field, or is there something kind of
- 19:03Speaker 18: special when theo are dime packages that you see that
- 19:06Speaker 18: that makes them so good at it.
- 19:07Speaker 13: Yeah, So as long as I've gone against coach Elko,
- 19:09Speaker 13: which started in twenty sixteen, he's always had a really
- 19:14Speaker 13: good third down package that starts with attacking protections. Now
- 19:19Speaker 13: he's going to try to get a five up presentation
- 19:23Speaker 13: where you, as an offense have to dictate we're either
- 19:26Speaker 13: going to man this or slide this. And what happens
- 19:30Speaker 13: is during the course of the game. Whatever you've practiced
- 19:33Speaker 13: is usually what you stay with through the course of
- 19:35Speaker 13: the game. And he, in my opinion, the first one
- 19:38Speaker 13: he tests you. He sends one out there, and then
- 19:41Speaker 13: now that he has the iPad, he goes up there
- 19:43Speaker 13: and he's super smart and he realizes, Okay, their plan
- 19:46Speaker 13: was four man slide, so this is the beater and
- 19:49Speaker 13: he'll call okay sword or he'll you know, realize that
- 19:55Speaker 13: hey they're slide. You know they're oh wait, they're manning it.
- 19:58Speaker 13: So here's the man. Beater will bring two to this side.
- 20:01Speaker 13: And so it's really a cat and mouse game. He
- 20:05Speaker 13: does a really good job of setting up tendencies too,
- 20:07Speaker 13: So like last year, going into the Arkansas game, there
- 20:11Speaker 13: was one player who had not blitz the entire five
- 20:14Speaker 13: game package, and so you would just say, hey, that's
- 20:17Speaker 13: the one guy that's always going to drop out and coverage,
- 20:19Speaker 13: so we'll account for everybody else. And then the first
- 20:22Speaker 13: third down versus Arkansas, he coffee housed him where he
- 20:25Speaker 13: acts like he was going to drop and then blitzed
- 20:27Speaker 13: for a sack.
- 20:28Speaker 4: So he's got a really good feel.
- 20:30Speaker 13: For how to attack you, and you know, does a
- 20:35Speaker 13: really good job of calling it and then adjusting his calls.
- 20:38Speaker 13: And then you know, that's when it gets really challenging,
- 20:41Speaker 13: is you felt like you had a really good plan
- 20:43Speaker 13: and he busted you in the mouth with something different.
- 20:45Speaker 13: The same thing happened to us in twenty sixteen. We
- 20:48Speaker 13: felt like we had something all dialed up. In the
- 20:50Speaker 13: first one, he broke his tendency, So gotta be willing
- 20:55Speaker 13: to adjust, coach.
- 20:57Speaker 14: Going back to twenty fifteen at Boise, when you had
- 21:00Speaker 14: Brett Rippon coming a few games in there as a freshman, YEP,
- 21:03Speaker 14: similarities differences between that situation and Matt Now and just
- 21:07Speaker 14: lessons he maybe drawback on from then when it comes
- 21:09Speaker 14: to break here and the true freshman.
- 21:10Speaker 13: Yeah, you know, I think that's something that I talked
- 21:15Speaker 13: to Kirby about and something that we've experienced before. Yeah,
- 21:18Speaker 13: there's absolutely some lessons there. I think there's some things
- 21:21Speaker 13: that we did to make it a little bit easier
- 21:23Speaker 13: on him, that we tailored the playbook towards. You know,
- 21:28Speaker 13: Brett was a different player than Matt, but very cerebral
- 21:33Speaker 13: came in early.
- 21:33Speaker 4: And Rolye was battled all through fall camp.
- 21:37Speaker 13: We knew he would be ready to go, and it
- 21:39Speaker 13: was similar in that he was the third quarterback. But
- 21:41Speaker 13: once Brett got hurt, we knew we were going to
- 21:45Speaker 13: him for the future, and he handled it well. There's
- 21:48Speaker 13: there were good days and bad days, you know, and
- 21:50Speaker 13: that's that's part of growing as a quarterback. So we
- 21:52Speaker 13: got to try to limit the exposure of Matt, not
- 21:55Speaker 13: to put him on an island, you know, and that
- 21:59Speaker 13: that kind of happened to was you know, looking back
- 22:01Speaker 13: at Brett when we played Air Force and you know,
- 22:05Speaker 13: had to learn the hard way from that one.
- 22:07Speaker 1: All right, that's eli drink. What's very complimentary of A
- 22:12Speaker 1: and m of course two thirty Saturday afternoon Tigers Aggie's
- 22:22Speaker 1: oh My, and tomorrow evening game two of Bucky Ball
- 22:31Speaker 1: Texas Southern seven o'clock tomorrow evening. And let's hear from
- 22:42Speaker 1: Rashon ag and Ruben Domingus after the ninety eight sixty
- 22:51Speaker 1: eight beat down of the Directional School on is it Monday? Monday?
- 22:59Speaker 4: After such an eventful offseason for you? How nice was
- 23:02Speaker 4: it just to get back out.
- 23:03Speaker 15: On the floor.
- 23:04Speaker 19: It felt great to be honest, still was a little
- 23:07Speaker 19: bit surreal that, you know, playing games right now and
- 23:10Speaker 19: everything that happened. But we're super grateful and thankful to
- 23:14Speaker 19: be playing as a team, and I feel like we're great.
- 23:19Speaker 15: What makes you feel like you guys are great? Man?
- 23:22Speaker 19: The way we play like we're relentless, Like we pressure
- 23:26Speaker 19: the ball twenty for seven, We play hard twenty for seven.
- 23:28Speaker 19: We try to be first to the ground. We teach
- 23:31Speaker 19: like no matter what end of the game, we continue
- 23:33Speaker 19: to play on. You know, we want to a teams
- 23:36Speaker 19: like we don't want we don't want a team to
- 23:38Speaker 19: feel comfortable.
- 23:40Speaker 20: How much did the press early create some opportunities just
- 23:45Speaker 20: right under the basket for steals? And how much do
- 23:47Speaker 20: you think you kind of hit the game in y'all's
- 23:49Speaker 20: direction from from the gig going that.
- 23:52Speaker 19: I would say from from the jump, it was a
- 23:55Speaker 19: lot of not easy steals, but more so like no,
- 24:01Speaker 19: them just handed it to us because a lot of
- 24:02Speaker 19: teams don't play the way we play. You know, we
- 24:05Speaker 19: pick up misses or makes, so it's just a little different.
- 24:08Speaker 19: I feel like that's what makes it easier because a
- 24:10Speaker 19: lot of teams don't play the way we play.
- 24:12Speaker 21: Forty eight points in the paint, for y'all, how does
- 24:14Speaker 21: that physicality kind of in the paint under the basket
- 24:17Speaker 21: really show up?
- 24:18Speaker 22: With that intensity they all play.
- 24:20Speaker 19: With, they show up a lot because you know, thinking
- 24:23Speaker 19: of a lot of teams nowadays shoot a lot of threes.
- 24:25Speaker 19: You know, we're a great three point shooting team, but
- 24:28Speaker 19: we attack the paint so much that it allows us
- 24:31Speaker 19: to get kickout threes. And that's what us happening forty
- 24:34Speaker 19: eight points look like because you know, at first they
- 24:37Speaker 19: thinking we're gonna just shoot three shoot threes, but we
- 24:39Speaker 19: get into the rim first.
- 24:41Speaker 23: We're even four seven from three tonight. Just what were
- 24:44Speaker 23: we kind of seeing out there and what was working
- 24:46Speaker 23: for it?
- 24:47Speaker 15: Oh?
- 24:48Speaker 24: Well, I think the team de de great job just
- 24:50Speaker 24: cheging the ball and finding me. It's being happening for
- 24:53Speaker 24: all the week. And that's what I think. We just
- 24:57Speaker 24: play in selfish Today.
- 24:58Speaker 15: It was mean, day was act. Another day is going
- 25:01Speaker 15: to be right for sure. So it's just that.
- 25:05Speaker 16: A couple of y'all, I mean, obviously good stack that
- 25:09Speaker 16: I live so up to els too. How come are
- 25:11Speaker 16: y'all actually in this style that you try to play
- 25:17Speaker 16: and how far do you got to go?
- 25:20Speaker 15: To me? Personally, I love it.
- 25:23Speaker 24: I just love to play fast, I say, if sharing
- 25:26Speaker 24: the ball, I think it's it's not like everybody plays
- 25:32Speaker 24: and and we kind of trying to get the other
- 25:35Speaker 24: team in our game and they don't know how to
- 25:37Speaker 24: do that. They practice other things. So that's I think
- 25:40Speaker 24: that's what makes it so good.
- 25:42Speaker 16: So you've already got it down when you want all
- 25:45Speaker 16: the way you play it, or you have a lot
- 25:46Speaker 16: of I.
- 25:48Speaker 15: Feel like we got it down. I mean, it's always
- 25:50Speaker 15: room for improvement.
- 25:51Speaker 19: There's never a time where I feel like we don't
- 25:54Speaker 19: have one hundred percent success rate. Every day you want
- 25:57Speaker 19: to improve on something you know, even in the age,
- 25:59Speaker 19: like you continue on to try to grow and become better.
- 26:01Speaker 19: So I feel like for us doing this for our
- 26:04Speaker 19: first year, having a whole new group of guys, we
- 26:07Speaker 19: got a down pack and we continue on to learn
- 26:09Speaker 19: and listen to how he wants us to play.
- 26:12Speaker 25: Rajean with just coming off this game, or you'd say,
- 26:15Speaker 25: is maybe the biggest area of improvement that you guys
- 26:17Speaker 25: are looking at to prove.
- 26:20Speaker 19: I would say fouls, fouls and turnovers. It's been a
- 26:23Speaker 19: big thing for us, but we continue on to improve
- 26:25Speaker 19: on it. With how we play. I mean, we're going
- 26:28Speaker 19: to get foul calls. We're going to get there's going
- 26:30Speaker 19: to be turnovers. There's going to be a lot of
- 26:33Speaker 19: things in that nature. Because we play fast, we play aggressive,
- 26:36Speaker 19: We pressure the ball at twenty four feet, you know,
- 26:39Speaker 19: like it's it's just what happens.
- 26:42Speaker 20: And only took on one game to set to beat
- 26:45Speaker 20: the high scoring output of last year's team. You feel
- 26:48Speaker 20: like that's a good representation of how much focus you'll
- 26:51Speaker 20: have on offense.
- 26:53Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 26:55Speaker 19: Like I said, I feel like with the way we play,
- 26:58Speaker 19: you know the ball miss or may the ball is,
- 27:01Speaker 19: we're looking to go immediately twenty eight seconds on o'clock,
- 27:04Speaker 19: So you're gonna get games like this, where of course
- 27:06Speaker 19: we score more than one hundred.
- 27:09Speaker 25: We're just how well do you think that the ball
- 27:11Speaker 25: was moving the night? Just twenty two assists, thirty five
- 27:14Speaker 25: minute baskets up. What would you say just about how
- 27:17Speaker 25: the offense looked as far as creating shots for other guys.
- 27:21Speaker 15: I think it was great for the most part.
- 27:24Speaker 24: You know, those last five minutes we're kind of settle
- 27:29Speaker 24: a little bit for some bad options, but it happens.
- 27:34Speaker 15: We know it, so we'll figure it out. For sure.
- 27:38Speaker 23: Three games in this first week of the season. Just
- 27:40Speaker 23: do you like the high volume of games that you
- 27:42Speaker 23: guys have early for sure?
- 27:43Speaker 15: Yeah? Yeah, I feel like it's good for us.
- 27:46Speaker 19: You know, we're playing the Big League, one of the
- 27:48Speaker 19: best leagues you know in college basketball, so getting games
- 27:51Speaker 19: under our built with having a new group of guys
- 27:53Speaker 19: is a good team.
- 27:55Speaker 23: What was the biggest thing that stood out that you
- 27:57Speaker 23: guys were talking about that maybe I'll be the best
- 28:00Speaker 23: in the area tonight.
- 28:00Speaker 15: And if you'll discuss sharing the ball, pushing the pace.
- 28:05Speaker 19: One thing you harped on was how we immediately pick
- 28:09Speaker 19: up and we get a lot of like kind of
- 28:11Speaker 19: lack the daysical turnovers. That's something like we harped on
- 28:15Speaker 19: it and we were grateful for.
- 28:16Speaker 16: First game for y'all in front of a reader and crowd.
- 28:18Speaker 4: How what was that environment like for y'all?
- 28:20Speaker 15: It was It was impressive to me.
- 28:23Speaker 24: It's it's a lot different from Spain for sure, and
- 28:27Speaker 24: I personally love it.
- 28:28Speaker 15: Yeah, I love that, y'all.
- 28:31Speaker 17: Just the chemistry on the court and how do you
- 28:33Speaker 17: keep building that year?
- 28:35Speaker 24: I feel like we we feel very comfortable out there.
- 28:39Speaker 24: We're just trying to like make somebody else shine and
- 28:42Speaker 24: that's what makes it so good.
- 28:45Speaker 23: What was Bucky's message to y'all before the game and
- 28:48Speaker 23: did you get to talk to you all after the game?
- 28:50Speaker 15: Yeah?
- 28:51Speaker 24: He basically said, play for the others, play on cellfish,
- 28:55Speaker 24: just great efter the whole time, and.
- 28:58Speaker 15: If you tied, just ask for us all. Yeah, be relentless.
- 29:01Speaker 17: There were a couple of deep passes whenever y'all were
- 29:04Speaker 17: full full court pressing. Was there a message at halftime
- 29:08Speaker 17: to kind of like be looking out for that deep
- 29:10Speaker 17: pass and they were trying to pull on y'all.
- 29:13Speaker 24: Yeah, but we kind of leave with that a little
- 29:18Speaker 24: bit like we wanted them to play like we wanted
- 29:21Speaker 24: to play, you know, like they want to play, so
- 29:23Speaker 24: they're kind of going to higher pace than they want too.
- 29:26Speaker 15: So yeah, yeah, it happens.
- 29:30Speaker 23: Do you feel like the distribution between threes and layups
- 29:33Speaker 23: and everything was about proportionate to what y'all would have liked?
- 29:38Speaker 19: I don't really think we kind of like think of
- 29:40Speaker 19: it as like are we trying to stay even. I
- 29:43Speaker 19: think it's like we take what the team gives us.
- 29:45Speaker 19: You know, coach are always harbor on sharing the ball
- 29:47Speaker 19: and hitting the open man. So I mean, if we
- 29:50Speaker 19: got an open three, I mean sometimes it's okay to
- 29:52Speaker 19: pass up an open three for a great layup. So
- 29:55Speaker 19: we're just looking for the open man.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Rashwan A Ruben us again Game two of Bucky Ball

- 35:02Speaker 1: what's your favorite Willie song? And I said, help make
- 35:05Speaker 1: me choose. It's like making me choose between my kids.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Said I've got Bloody Mary Morning on my phone ring.

- 37:39Speaker 1: No, no, I mean no, I'm not. It's it's who
- 37:46Speaker 1: is Southern? Yeah no, but I'll be watching Sunday Oklahoma State.
- 37:53Speaker 1: I'll watch that game Sunday. I think that's an ESPN
- 37:56Speaker 1: game Sunday. So one o'clock Sunday afternoon. I think that's
- 38:00Speaker 1: an ESPN.

- 38:24Speaker 1: Last night they beat a directional school. No, it was
- 38:27Speaker 1: Oral Roberts. They beat Earl Roberts pretty good last night.
- 38:31Speaker 22: Didn't kind of old?
- 38:32Speaker 1: Orals really old?
- 38:36Speaker 15: Okay?
- 38:37Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, very old? Did a game from there back
- 38:43Speaker 1: in the day. Yeah, yeah, they have I don't know
- 38:46Speaker 1: if they still have it. They have expected miracle written
- 38:49Speaker 1: in script along the court. Yeah.
- 38:52Speaker 22: I was about to say either that.
- 38:53Speaker 1: I mean or Roberts was good at one time. I
- 38:55Speaker 1: don't know if you remember this, but they went to
- 38:56Speaker 1: the n CUAA Tournament. I don't know is it Eddie Sutton?
- 39:01Speaker 22: It was Tubby?
- 39:02Speaker 1: Was it Tubby? No? No, no, no, no, I think
- 39:05Speaker 1: it's Eddie Sutton.
- 39:06Speaker 22: It couldn't mean Eddie Sotton. He couldn't, couldn't. He couldn't

- 39:20Speaker 1: know exactly what he's looking for. Is that a picture
- 39:22Speaker 1: of Eddie Sutton? I see he's sitting up there? No, okay,

- 45:28Speaker 8: I liked it, Oh.
- 45:32Speaker 22: Yeah, I thought it has some potential potential there considering
- 45:38Speaker 22: who wasn't playing. Pop's playing on one leg, so uh,
- 45:44Speaker 22: you know, I thought that it was interesting. And I
- 45:48Speaker 22: was reading a story in the Baltimore Sun about a
- 45:51Speaker 22: different team that played that same night.
- 45:54Speaker 1: Okay, and.
- 45:59Speaker 22: Their coach was saying, hey, we shot too many threes.
- 46:06Speaker 22: Dal had back some.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Yeah, Bucky didn't shoot enough.
- 46:09Speaker 22: It was shot. Well, this team that's from.
- 46:13Speaker 1: He tried, tried thirty one, he put it up seventy one.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Was that UMC Baltimore? No, okay, oh Maryland? Yeah? Did
- 46:22Speaker 1: Maryland win?
- 46:23Speaker 22: Yeah? They took twenty nine.
- 46:24Speaker 1: They took twenty nine threes. Yes, yes, but what was
- 46:28Speaker 1: their rebound percentage on those threes? That's the important thing?
- 46:31Speaker 22: No, no, yes, it is they made enough that the
- 46:34Speaker 22: rebound percentage wasn't good.
- 46:35Speaker 1: Oh that's too bad. They're going to have to start missing.
- 46:38Speaker 22: Yeah, well yet without a doubt. Yeah, but you know,
- 46:42Speaker 22: their coach said that that's a few too many threes
- 46:45Speaker 22: for my liking.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Yeah, there you go. So and he made and like
- 46:50Speaker 1: we said, he probably made a few too many threes
- 46:52Speaker 1: for his liking because he didn't get that high rebound
- 46:55Speaker 1: percentage he's looking for. Okay, So, uh.
- 46:58Speaker 22: No, I thought it was. You know, I think you
- 47:02Speaker 22: and I I have to agree with you. I'm gonna
- 47:04Speaker 22: make a little bit of an adjustment. I'm gonna say
- 47:08Speaker 22: there's gonna be fifteen point runs for the Aggies and
- 47:11Speaker 22: ten for the opponents. Well, there's gonna be runs.
- 47:15Speaker 1: There's gonna be runs.
- 47:16Speaker 22: And if you have a fifteen point run, and your
- 47:18Speaker 22: opponent has a ten point run. I don't know if
- 47:20Speaker 22: the coach is gonna be upset about that.
- 47:21Speaker 1: Well, look, no, the answer is no, it's and if
- 47:27Speaker 1: you're plus four for turnovers, that's a good thing. If
- 47:31Speaker 1: you're plus in the rebounding and I'm still not convinced
- 47:35Speaker 1: by the way this team's going to be a great
- 47:37Speaker 1: rebounding team. But if you're missing those if you're taking
- 47:42Speaker 1: you know, thirty five threes a game and you're making
- 47:47Speaker 1: you know, fourteen of them, that's seventeen miss shots. And
- 47:50Speaker 1: on the long rebounds, and I'm sounding like Buzz. I
- 47:53Speaker 1: think I've been around Buzz too long.
- 47:55Speaker 20: But.
- 47:56Speaker 1: You should rebound a decent percentage of those long three
- 48:00Speaker 1: He's I would think. I don't think this is a
- 48:03Speaker 1: great rebounding team, but look, I they have some athletic ability,
- 48:12Speaker 1: for sure. They do have a guy that's been a while.
- 48:18Speaker 1: I think that is going to be really consistent, and
- 48:22Speaker 1: Reuben Domingo shooting threes. So yeah, and I and I
- 48:27Speaker 1: think they're gonna be fun to watch. Well, and you know,
- 48:30Speaker 1: and I will say this, and the guy's talked about it.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Bucky talked about a lull. He said there's a little
- 48:36Speaker 1: lull in the second half, aut eight minutes worth of
- 48:38Speaker 1: a lull. He said, we don't we can't afford the lulls.
- 48:42Speaker 1: We have to be going. And you know, you watch
- 48:45Speaker 1: a scrimmage as well, and it's like, because they're scrimmaging
- 48:49Speaker 1: each other, there's not as many guys subbing in right,
- 48:53Speaker 1: Like they're only going they're only going about four minutes
- 48:57Speaker 1: at a time because that's all they can go. And
- 48:59Speaker 1: here they're going four minutes at a time. But you're
- 49:01Speaker 1: getting five more fresh bodies onto the court.
- 49:05Speaker 22: But I think, uh Ag looks like a guy that's
- 49:09Speaker 22: been playing against the Yaggi's at Auburn and Alabama for forever.
- 49:13Speaker 22: Big body, big body with some skill, has a little skill.
- 49:17Speaker 22: Uh you know in Bacco, I want to see him. Yeah,
- 49:21Speaker 22: I mean, your best player, your best pro prospect, doesn't
- 49:25Speaker 22: play and you put up ninety eight. That's that's hard
- 49:29Speaker 22: to do against air.
- 49:31Speaker 1: Well, it's been hard in the past. Obviously, they are
- 49:36Speaker 1: gonna score the ball. That's that was a big deal.
- 49:38Speaker 1: When he got heres, he's he's they're gonna score the ball.
- 49:42Speaker 1: They didn't score it like Vermont did the other night
- 49:44Speaker 1: with one hundred and thirty seven points. But they did
- 49:47Speaker 1: put ninety eight up, and they might they might be
- 49:50Speaker 1: able to break a hundred against Texas Southern.
- 49:52Speaker 22: But if I was Texas Southern and the players there,
- 49:55Speaker 22: I think I'm gonna have a fun night at the at.
- 49:57Speaker 1: The Oh, they're gonna get some shots.
- 49:59Speaker 22: They're gonna get shots. Yeah, they're going to go up
- 50:01Speaker 22: and down. Now five for me for how about?
- 50:05Speaker 1: How about if jeene Iba was still coaching Oklahoma State
- 50:09Speaker 1: on Sunday afternoon against Bucky Ball. What would that look like? Yeah?
- 50:13Speaker 1: Who would win that war of wills? The team that
- 50:20Speaker 1: wants to be the first to score forty and hold
- 50:22Speaker 1: the other team at thirty eight because the team that
- 50:25Speaker 1: wants to score ninety eight.
- 50:27Speaker 22: Well, no, It's like when we talk with Kyle when
- 50:30Speaker 22: he came up and went by our area and I said, Okay,
- 50:33Speaker 22: what's the best game you all ever had? He said,
- 50:35Speaker 22: we won forty forty three Texas game.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Shot.
- 50:41Speaker 22: Yeah, you got it, really, And you know who's playing
- 50:44Speaker 22: for Texas that day, Kevin Durant. Yeah, that's the best
- 50:49Speaker 22: game we ever played. And so look at it's way.
- 50:54Speaker 1: Oh never mind, why are you pulling that stuff up?
- 50:56Speaker 1: On there, and then I get excited and I feel
- 50:59Speaker 1: like I get that stuff off of there. What are
- 51:03Speaker 1: you talking? What are you thinking?
- 51:07Speaker 22: So gosh, I think that they can make the littles less,
- 51:13Speaker 22: especially when Pops Isaac's is completely healthy and in shape
- 51:18Speaker 22: and in shape and in Bacco's play once you have
- 51:23Speaker 22: those two guys, because I like the ten guys that
- 51:26Speaker 22: played the other night. Yeah, are nine and a half
- 51:29Speaker 22: that played the other night? Yeah, when you're eleven deep
- 51:34Speaker 22: with all with a different guy.
- 51:36Speaker 1: Now, he did say last week, he said, Look, we're
- 51:40Speaker 1: gonna play a lot of guys, no doubt about it.
- 51:42Speaker 1: But I'm not saying we're playing ten guys. You know,
- 51:45Speaker 1: when we start into conference plays, he might, but the
- 51:51Speaker 1: rotation will probably be narrowed down a little bit.
- 51:56Speaker 22: I liked what I saw offensively from the bunch.
- 52:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean there's some guys that have some skills.
- 52:03Speaker 22: Different skills, and I love the fact that when they
- 52:08Speaker 22: make a basket, they go guard somebody. They're not worried
- 52:12Speaker 22: about running down the floor.
- 52:15Speaker 1: The other team better not do that because they'll be
- 52:18Speaker 1: laying it up at the other end. Yes, you know, yes,
- 52:21Speaker 1: somebody makes a dunk and and flexes, his guy's gonna
- 52:26Speaker 1: be laying it up on the other end. Yes, so
- 52:28Speaker 1: shooting the three or shooting a three. And and I
- 52:33Speaker 1: mentioned this to you monday. I thought maybe they passed
- 52:36Speaker 1: up some threes. You know, there's still feeling things out
- 52:39Speaker 1: as well.
- 52:40Speaker 22: Yeah, we had a couple of possessions where they had
- 52:42Speaker 22: five passes that was just too many.
- 52:43Speaker 1: Well, and they passed up the threes to try to
- 52:46Speaker 1: make a move toward the basket right now, But one.
- 52:48Speaker 22: Of those times they just ended up with a three
- 52:50Speaker 22: on the other side with a different guy.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I mean, you can do that.
- 52:54Speaker 22: But it was it. It wasn't hey, we're going to
- 52:57Speaker 22: put something. Did the shot clock until the end of
- 53:01Speaker 22: the game when they were running off do you remember
- 53:03Speaker 22: at any point in time the.
- 53:04Speaker 1: Shot they ain't never got close to that it was now,
- 53:08Speaker 1: it was you never looked at this shot clock. No,
- 53:13Speaker 1: that's not that's not fair. A couple of times in
- 53:15Speaker 1: the first half when when they did pass up a
- 53:18Speaker 1: couple of shots and they're driving and they were shut
- 53:21Speaker 1: off from the basket, and yeah, they didn't have to
- 53:24Speaker 1: throw up a shot, that's the bottom line, right right.
- 53:28Speaker 1: They didn't have to just shoot something up because it
- 53:31Speaker 1: said two you know, one on there, and I don't
- 53:34Speaker 1: think we'll see that very often either. So it's it's
- 53:39Speaker 1: going to be entertaining, it's going to be ragged. There
- 53:42Speaker 1: are gonna be some games, I promise you, with this style,
- 53:46Speaker 1: at least stretches of games where people are diving on
- 53:50Speaker 1: the floor, the ball's going everywhere. It's it's gonna be chaotic,
- 53:55Speaker 1: but you know what, they want to create a little chaos, right,
- 53:58Speaker 1: and there is there will be chaos created. Sometimes it'll
- 54:03Speaker 1: be too much, but for the most part, what they're
- 54:07Speaker 1: hoping is that it'll be just about right, you know.
- 54:11Speaker 22: And I can also see because they have shooters that
- 54:16Speaker 22: they're going to have some skill at the free throw line.
- 54:18Speaker 1: Well, you know what, they shot seven.
- 54:22Speaker 22: But the second half, second half, they had different players
- 54:25Speaker 22: in there that got some fouls that were.
- 54:26Speaker 1: Not weren't shooting as well right free throws. They were
- 54:33Speaker 1: seventeen for twenty three from the free throw line, seventy
- 54:38Speaker 1: four percent. They were eighty six percent in the first half,
- 54:42Speaker 1: as you mentioned, they were thirteen out of fifteen. By
- 54:45Speaker 1: the way, Duke shot free throws like a robot last night.
- 54:51Speaker 1: They were phenomenal, and they had done it. They had
- 54:54Speaker 1: hit twenty free throws, apparently in a scrimmage against Tennessee
- 54:58Speaker 1: straight in the second and a half. I had to
- 55:00Speaker 1: run and at one point last night they were nineteen
- 55:05Speaker 1: for twenty or something like that.
- 55:07Speaker 22: Well, A and M was shooting over ninety after they'd
- 55:09Speaker 22: shot more than one they had.
- 55:11Speaker 1: I looked up theatos like, going, We've never seen ninety
- 55:14Speaker 1: percent up there of the free throw line.
- 55:16Speaker 22: Not when you've shot like more than one.
- 55:19Speaker 1: All right, we'll take a break, we'll close things out.
- 55:21Speaker 1: We've got football coming, so stay with us on that.
