Now let's dive into something super practical: making a phone call in Cantonese. Lucas: Right. You answer the phone with 喂. Say it with me: 喂. Luna: 喂. Lucas: Good. That's just 'hello' on the phone. Next, if you want to say who you are, you say 我係... followed by your name. So, 我係Lucas. Luna: 我係Luna. Lucas: Perfect. Now, if you answer and don't know who's calling, you ask 你係邊位? meaning 'Who is this?' Luna: 你係邊位? Lucas: Exactly. One more: if you dial the wrong number, say 唔好意思打錯. Sorry, wrong number. Luna: 唔好意思打錯. Lucas: Let's put it together. Imagine I call you. Luna: 喂. Lucas: 喂, 我係Lucas. 你係邊位? Luna: 我係Luna. 喂, 你搵邊位? Lucas: Oh, 唔好意思打錯. I was trying to reach someone else. Luna: No problem.
