- 2:05[SPEAKER_01]: They'll take you over there,
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: Helix Peters, one of the owners over there is currently helping me rehab my my serious leg injury from last year to get myself ready to get back on the ice.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: I can't don't have enough good things to say about them.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: They do a phenomenal job and remember if you mention your fan of two goals, I'm like he yourself a $77 assessment so herals now that we're through all the
- 2:38[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, but somehow, I mean, I don't want to talk with Toronto Maple Leafs during a preview show for the second round of the playoffs, uh, Saversverse, Saversverse Montreal, but did you happen to watch that live?
- 3:04[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't, I was asleep, so I just woke up to the news that, uh, I had to leave someone.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_01]: They missed the playoffs one time, one time since they drafted Matthews, which they drafted him in Buffalo, dressed in Buffalo again this year, and they win the draft lottery.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: Like, hold on, I want you to give your reaction real quick for a second.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: Just go ahead, give your reaction.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the initial reaction, as always, would be to say, NHL rigged.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_03]: I think that it is the funniest possible option, funniest possible result that I don't even know how many spots they moved up, how many spots did they move up?
- 3:48[SPEAKER_03]: We'll figure that out.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_03]: Either way, Toronto winning is especially Vancouver not winning with how destitute that franchise has been.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_03]: for such a long time, and throughout their history, to be honest, rivaling the sabers in terms of an aptitude over the course of their franchise history, this was Ben Koovers' moment to really, truly,
- 4:16[SPEAKER_03]: her in the franchise around and get some excitement into that fan base in that community.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_03]: Even if Gavin McKenna isn't necessarily this generational prospect that we thought he once was, it was at least this huge name that everybody knows for a long time, this Canadian kid.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not necessarily sure if he's from Western Canada or not, but regardless, a Canadian kid at the top of the draft that teams can get excited about.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like that was, that was the guy he's from Whitehars Cannon.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, from the same place as Dylan Cousins is.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_03]: So it closer to Vancouver than he is to Toronto.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_03]: And for the Toronto Maple Leafs to swoop in and get the number one pick is the funniest possible scenario and probably the most heartbreaking if you're a Vancouver connect fan.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_03]: So I feel really bad for them.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_03]: I feel for them.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_03]: It's almost McDavid, I go level.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_03]: But you know, you don't have the jack-icle that would be the number two overall that at least as
- 5:24[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, I don't actually believe things are rigged.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_03]: I think that would be something that you can figure it out.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_03]: There's too many good journalists in hockey and in sports, but it's fun to talk about.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_03]: So I see you're putting your tinfoil hat on.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_03]: I asked earlier, how many spots did they jump?
- 5:44[SPEAKER_03]: They went from fifth to first.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_03]: So it's not like completely outlandish and like let's live in a world for a second where this process is actually real and the luck was on their side.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_03]: Not an insane jump for the team that was at the number five spot to go to number one.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_03]: There have been bigger jumps.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_03]: I think San Jose won up seven spots.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_03]: So that's technically a bigger jump.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_03]: But, yeah, I mean.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, if it is, if it is rigged, then it's the most obvious rigging of all time.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: I listen, I posted the video right before we went live.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: For those of you who,
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: for those of you who are fans of the show, you watched Toby Sonny and Philadelphia.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_03]: I've seen episodes here and there, but not, not recently.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so there was an episode of it's always Sonny and Philadelphia.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: Season three episode one to be exact, where Mac is trying to prove that evolution isn't real.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: That God is real just that and the other not to get in that little conversation, but I'm going to repeat his quote.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_01]: Alright, B.C.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_01]: Where is it?
- 7:10[SPEAKER_01]: Where is it?

- 7:35[UNKNOWN]: Where
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: belief, whether it's on social media, Earth is flat, you know, what the moon landing was fake, it listen, it's, it's 2026.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: to sit here and tell me that there's no way on live TV, they could possibly rig the NHL draft letter.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry, you're a fool.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: You're a fool.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: This is a billion dollar business.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: And if they want the ping pong balls to go their way, might you, they're ping pong balls, they'll find a way to ping pong balls to go their way.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: There are plenty of things that had been from the media over the years dating back, however far back you want to go.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: All right, the try-to-fucking Maple Leafs made one of the worst GM-hires, and honestly, they're saying that in the history of the franchise, that's just a, even the leak in higher age, higher age, higher age, higher age, take a, Steve Simmons, you see that question he asked by the way?
- 8:42[SPEAKER_03]: I've seen the clip, but I haven't listened to it.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, like you wanna talk about a franchise that we had hit rock bottom.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: at the losing mariner, missing the playoffs, a complete laughing stock, one of the worst GM hires, there goes my tin foil at whatever, one of the, one of the worst GM hires in the history of the league and the franchise.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: And you're on the on the brink of our possibly losing one of the greatest goal scorers in the history of the league there was one thing that could have possibly prevented all that and turn everything around at least in the moment they have a lot of other things they need to fix no doubt they have a lot of other things they need to fix.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_01]: Gathering the candidates and fix everything.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_01]: But if you want to bring least nation back around if you want to.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: Keep.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: a guy like Austin Matthews in the Mecca of hockey, arguably one of the Mecca's hockey in that city.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: There was only one way to do it.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I said this back when Pittsburgh won the draft lottery for Crosby.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: There was one thing that was keeping Pittsburgh against the penguins in Pittsburgh because they were bankrupting on by the league.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_01]: And that was winning the first overall pick.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: That was the only way they were probably keeping awesome athletes in Toronto and I've said my piece and I'm dug in.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: I am absolutely dug in.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: You are not going to change my mind and I don't have to change my mind because I'm an American.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_03]: Well, you're Canadian.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_03]: You wouldn't have to either.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_03]: I just, yeah, I mean, there's definitely there's a different possibility.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think it would, it'll ever be proven.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_03]: So I think with a lot of hypothetical situations, you can talk about it as much as you want, but there is a thought loop of sorts that will go round and round and round with people talking about it when nothing will ever, or I mean, that's what I'm saying.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_03]: Like if a journalist was able to get evidence,
- 10:43[SPEAKER_03]: that would be remarkable, but I just don't think it's ever going to happen.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_03]: So I think at this point, it's just like a funny, it's a funny talking point, especially in this instance.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_03]: And like, I'm kind of excited.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I think it's cool.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_03]: Like, let's say this works out for the Leafs and Gavin McKenna is that generational prospect or close to it that he was billed as.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_03]: and in the next two to three years even or maybe even next season, the Sabers and Leafs are good at the same time.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's great for us and I think it's great for the league.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_03]: Reigniting that regional rivalry, the Leafs having
- 11:18[SPEAKER_03]: a, I mean, they're already having inflated sense of importance around the league, but an actual footing in the eastern conference in the Atlantic division race.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's, I think that's cool.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_03]: And I think those two teams being good at the same time as we're going to see with the Canadians and sailors in this upcoming round, which I think we should.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_03]: talk about very soon.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_03]: I think that's good, honestly, and I'm excited.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_03]: There's things you can control in life, and there's things that you can't, and the NHL Draft Lodge lottery, as we well know, is absolutely one of them.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it's just I've made me just me be in a better savers fan like we literally lost on purpose for an entire year and entire year to win the draft lottery and we we still didn't win.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_01]: We we we won honestly two years on accident.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: Years we weren't trying to win the draft lottery.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_01]: We get to ask the dollar in fantastic.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: We get old and power.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_01]: Fantastic, but like they meant to put us one time in a decade.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: One time when the draft lottery, and it's of course it's in Buffalo and you know you're going to get a Toronto fans all flooding down to our arena to watch their team draft and the kind of first overall can't wait.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be great girls.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be fantastic.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_03]: Well, shout out to them.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not worried about it.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_03]: I clearly, I mean, I was working very early this morning.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_03]: So I came home and fell asleep right around the time of the lottery.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_03]: And I think that's nice because I didn't care about the lottery once for the past.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't even know was tonight.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I didn't care about the lottery once for the past four months.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't know about it.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I learned about it earlier today and I was not interested enough to stay awake.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_03]: So I consider that to be a win.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_03]: Good for Toronto.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_03]: It'd be funny if they took Stenberg over McKenna, but they're probably going to take Gavin McKenna and I feel bad for Ben Cooper, next week.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_01]: And like listen, I have a couple shout out to Malcolm Sam Sean a couple of my buddies up in Vancouver.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: I literally message them like reading into the trash and it's like, you know, I'm really pulling for you guys because if there's a likable team out of Canada, it's definitely the Vancouver can't.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like we both came into the both on the sabers the same year.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's they're an easy team to get behind fantastic throwback jerseys.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: Um, good team history, Ryan Miller played there.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: So another reason you could pop, you can like go back and like them.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_01]: I was a big fan of Paul Ball Buray when he played.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: So and I'm who is an as a goalie who is an aloof fan, you know, everybody's a long old fan.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: I, I'm torn for them, man.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_01]: It sucks.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, for sure, but again, just like we were just pointed back in 2015, I think there are sometimes as a light at the end of the tunnel.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_03]: And I think just generally, even with us, even with them, like why lose your mind about something you literally cannot change.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_03]: So it's what it is.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, we'll go from here.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: I was actually, last point, I was actually texting Steve Dangle right after they won the lottery, because they did their live stream, they reacted and they obviously lost their minds.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: But I was just like, dude, like, I'm happy for you, but I also hate your thoughts right now.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_01]: And I just want you to know that like at 715 Eastern Standard Time tonight, 90% of North America all said the word, 90% of hockey fans in North America all said the word rigged.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's it's it's the accusations have credibility, but again, they're just accusations, at least for now.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: I just think it's hilarious when people go, oh, you know, no way, we were just on my TV, I mean, not okay.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, anyways, I do what I get back, we got a couple super chats in here from Regina, one of our favorite, favorite guys.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_01]: shout out to you.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_01]: As long as we can slow down Montreal, speed and play physical hockey, we should be good, but got to fix that power play.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: Getting right into the preview of Saber's first Montreal, which starts tonight.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: I will be in the house for that.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: I was surprised.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: I was listening to kind of like Montreal's first round against Tampa, trying guests, how many goals and points
- 15:56[SPEAKER_03]: I know zero goals or two goals, two total goals, I think it's is it to and two and then like four points or something.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_03]: Those ten points, but there were minus seven.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and I think I saw it even strength.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_03]: They didn't have any goals, the two of them.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_03]: Slavkowski had the hatrik in game one.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_03]: And I was reading earlier that line, that top line of Slavkowski, Suzuki and Kofffield.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_03]: really controlled play and had the majority of chances while they are on the ice, but they didn't convert.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_03]: So you got to suspect that might change this series.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_03]: That top line is so good and they're so talented and arguably with Krebs Thompson and Tuck, the most dangerous line in this series.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_03]: And it's going to be absolutely critical to keep them at bay.
- 16:55[SPEAKER_03]: They're all on the power play too, obviously, so that's, that's also got a factor in, but that line could heat up really, really quickly.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_03]: We've seen it happen before.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_03]: Coffields had specifically, he's had some really good games against the Sabers.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_03]: I know Suzuki has produced as well in South Coffsky former number one overall pick, ironically enough.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_03]: He is, I think, hitting his stride from a goalscoring perspective, and he comes up in big
- 17:24[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's going to it's going to be really, really critical to slow them down as much as possible.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and in coffee, I mean, that guy could just turn it on like that.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: This is another 50 goal score.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_01]: I even realized Suzuki at 100 points.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: This is 101 points.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_01]: That's insane.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: This is one of the quietest 100 points seasons in the league.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_01]: Is that didn't realize that guy, you know, I mean, I always knew his talented, but 100 points.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's crazy for the Montreal captain.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_01]: They get no adopts in back, which is huge for them.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_01]: I personally, I think I'll take my blue line over there and blow up blue line all day.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, there's a bunch of Habs fans breaking down the matchups from for some reason.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_03]: of the Canadians blue line to the Sabers blue line one for one and it's bait but a lot of them are putting out into the Twitter verse that they would all take clean huts and over rest of Staling which I don't agree with but if you want that of course they're going to have that bias opinion.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_03]: I think down the each pair I think the Sabers have more depth they've got
- 18:44[SPEAKER_03]: I think better pairings specifically like no dobsons.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_03]: He's a good shut down defender.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_03]: Mathiscins, not bad.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_03]: I think that just especially the top four as we've seen all season long has been the backbone of the Sabers' defensive unit and largely the team.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_03]: And as we saw, especially later into the first round against the Bruins, not only to dolly and really come into his own, but firemen power really produced at a high clip.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_03]: They gave up some chances in their own end, as they did a lot of the season they were playing that a river hockey firewagon hockey, but that pairing, those top two pairings have been really, really good.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_03]: And the third pairing held their own two at least defensively in the limited minutes that they got.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_03]: So I personally like the Saber's defense a little bit more of course for biased, but I personally, I think it's one of the best to defend top to bottom, one of the best three paired defensive units in the league.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: And they listen, like Logan Stanley was good in the first round.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: You can say what you want about them, but how often did you find yourself complaining about Logan Stanley?
- 19:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think he really settled in and found his footing on this team.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_01]: It took him a little while for sure since it does not.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_01]: But I have no problems with the way Stanley played.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_01]: Now this is a different team.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_01]: high level, high skill level team who can move the pop up voice.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know, maybe we'll see if a matchup like this where speed is going to be crucial.
- 20:24[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I don't know.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_01]: Could you see Azac Matsah in at some point?
- 20:31[SPEAKER_01]: Because of the speed of the game.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_03]: Potentially, I don't know if it would make a big enough impact on the third pair to necessitate that type of move, especially when they largely, especially as a core did pretty well in that first round.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_03]: I think it would take an injury, and we saw with an illness or an injury, Castle Ring was first up, and in his limited minutes, I thought he did alright in game six.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_03]: Didn't notice him too much, that's probably what you want out of a guy that was in and out of the lineup for most of the season.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_03]: So, we'll see, but at this current moment, especially as we all know, given what was traded to acquire Michael Kessering as the centerpiece of the J.J. Peterka trade, I think that he earned the opportunity and if Stanley has held out, which he probably won't be given it was an illness for, for game one.
- 21:21[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to start again with Stanley and Timons and then they'll go from there.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_03]: So the meta discussion, I think, is probably a little bit far off in the distance, but it's nice to have that option, even with Luke Shannon as well, with the experience and the grip.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, the team is really fast.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_03]: They're, I think, the only other team in the league that's younger than the savers, obviously they have a lot of skill at the top of the lineup.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_03]: I was reading a little bit about the forward breakdowns, the impacts today.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_03]: similar fashion to the defense.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_03]: I think the sabers top nine is better than the Canadians top nine.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_03]: I think they have more job here at that in their in their forward unit.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_03]: That Benson in don't mind as is whose ever's been on it either Oslo nor Norris.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_03]: has been really, really good.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_03]: You want more out of Ryan McClod, you want more production out of Jack Winning and Jason Zucker, but they at least held their own.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_03]: And then the fourth line did what they needed to do.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, I personally think it is
- 22:23[SPEAKER_03]: extremely close, especially given that maybe Montreal's top line.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, Krebs Thompson took where the high, where some of the highs impact forwards in the first round, so it's tough to say that Montreal's top line is better, but if you had to pick one area where the Canadian Tavis drank, that is potentially the area.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_03]: But I do think that the
- 22:46[SPEAKER_03]: Saber's line combinations, I don't think Wendy is going to necessarily match up one line specifically with the coffee of line.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_03]: I think that each line theoretically could handle that line really well.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe it's Benson down in Norris because they're so good on the forecheck.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_03]: They hound guys defensively.
- 23:08[SPEAKER_03]: They're so good back checking.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe it's that line more often than not.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_03]: But who knows, I think it's really a case-by-case scenario.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll see, I think it's extremely close.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_03]: I was reading a breakdown today on the athletic and they gave the series odds 51% to the savers in 49% to the Canadians.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_03]: Those are razor thin margins.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_03]: And that is where, as Ricky mentioned earlier, that's where the power play comes into effect, and it's something they got effects really, really soon.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: So Sam Carrick, Ricky Stynicky back on the ice practice in today, he did not take a line rushes, but compared to what we heard a couple of days ago from Lindi that he just missed in the first round, along with Oslin, and now he here, they've been cleared to practice.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: If he's good to go, do you put him right back into that line that we had, who was he, who was he,
- 24:09[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I don't think he ever played with a greenway.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Krebs on the top line now, but that fourth line when I think I want to say was him Krebs and Malenstein wasn't it?
- 24:21[SPEAKER_03]: I think so.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: If that line was incredible.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, that's obviously changed now, but yeah, if he's healthy or at least like.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_03]: Even 90%, I would prefer Sam Carrick's physicality and experience over Tyson Kozak.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, I would say that you do.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_03]: And what he gives you on the draws, I think that face offs are important for sure, but they're not necessarily the end all the all.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_03]: But if you can win an important draw, especially at the end of the game, especially in the power play, obviously Sam Carrick wouldn't necessarily be on the power play, but if you really need to win a draw and you haven't been doing it all game, he's one of your best face-off men, so and I don't I mean, maybe that would be affected by his injury.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_03]: I saw people pointing out today that his left bicep.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_03]: was much smaller than his right and that's right.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's smaller.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I'm not related to the fact that he hasn't been able to work out that arm at all in the recovery from his injury.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_03]: So maybe that would affect his ability to leverage his position on face-offs.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not sure either way.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_03]: I think they're going to wrap them up maybe in the next week or so for to begin the series and if they need him in games three, four, five, six, seven to BD, TBD, I think he's a guy that could slot in there and he's a playoff type performer.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_01]: No doubt.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_01]: I think he I want to say that in 60 games,
- 25:52[SPEAKER_01]: with the Rangers, he had like four goals.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe somebody in the chat can check these stats, but with Buffalo in the short amount of time, he had six goals, like six holes and like 15 games or something like that.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: I could be wrong on those numbers.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm pretty close though, I think.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like, and, and Carrick said, and he said he wasn't trying to throw shade at the Rangers, but like, the Sabers have given them a different opportunity that he wasn't given in New York.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and that's the thing, like, especially at a deadline deal going from a team that was very much out of it for most of the season was actively tanking and selling off to a team that's ranked attention.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_03]: You could tell how much it meant to him to join a group like this and have that type of opportunity.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_03]: And you could see the impact that he made
- 26:41[SPEAKER_03]: and those 15 to 20 games are so that he played for the Sabers.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_03]: He was all over the place.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_03]: Clearly fit into the room really well.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_03]: Super well respected amongst the guys.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_03]: And I think they would welcome him back with open arms.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_01]: And we got Brody Brown here in the chat, but Caracelma Cozac.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's an easy, easy, easy decision there.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_01]: Cozac comes out of the line up.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_01]: You slot Caracray back in.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_01]: And how big is he going to be on face off for them?
- 27:07[SPEAKER_01]: That is outside of the obvious being the power play.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_01]: The face off circle, they were horrendous.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_01]: in the face off circle and round one.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_01]: That is definitely some more they need to improve and Sam Caracledo that for them.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_01]: For sure.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, any, any little bit helps.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_03]: Hopefully it's something they're working on.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_03]: Tage specifically was not too great in the first round.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_03]: when he's doing so many other things and contributing as much on the score sheet as he was and getting the type of chances he did eventually over the course of the series.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_03]: Not as important from your first line center, but yeah, I think face-offs power play to fringe level areas that they definitely need to work on improve.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_01]: No doubt, no doubt.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: He thought it's on cost to hold any as being called up in the black ace is the only player called up in the black ace is the practice team this morning, you know, for or a placement for a guy know, awesome, like the top six guy that you're trying to you're trying to replace in terms of scoring and his ability to produce and, you know, what he does on the ice, I think cost the
- 28:23[SPEAKER_01]: like comparable and your roster currently to know an awesome, they both play a very similar style of hockey.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: I've been constantly as a little bit more of a scoring touch than an awesome, but I'm actually pretty enthused.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: I hope we do see him in game one.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, based upon what Lindy said, just having that extra center for the fifth line, the extra skaters, I think was the reason they had him practice today.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_03]: But as we know, with basically any coach in the NHL playoffs, what they say in their press conference, you do.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_03]: is not necessarily what they do, could be smoke and mirrors, could be a smoke screen.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_03]: I don't necessarily think he plays tomorrow, but having him back on the ice, getting him ramped up with the team, getting him around the guys, I think is hopefully a boost for everybody, not only himself, but for the rest of the guys.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_03]: given how much talent he has to produce the numbers he did at 19 years old in the age hell is one of the best seasons for a player that age in a really long time.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_03]: And we saw it when he was up with the savers.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_03]: That shot he had against UC sorrows.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_03]: And it was the
- 29:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but the one specifically where he went over his shoulder and barred down for his, I think first ending show goal against likely one of his finished idols is really remarkable.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_03]: He has a release that I think is,
- 29:46[SPEAKER_03]: is topped here.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_03]: Like you said, he's a different type of player than Noah Oslin, he's way more of a sniper, but he's got speed, he's got playmaking ability, he is a center, of course, and you can never have enough center depth, especially with that type of skill and goal scoring ability.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_03]: So if they get into a situation where they need to switch things up or there's an injury or an illness, I think he's the first guy not named Sam Carrot
- 30:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I agree from what Paul Hamilton said on GR today doesn't seem like it changed much with the power play the only thing they did differently is they tried to move Tager on more I mean same personnel I personally like to I mean is Bedson playing it on the first unit or see it with a
- 30:39[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't seen the updated I want to see is what the second I want to say is with the second unit for most of the first round I want to see him on that first unit man because like that guy does everything you you He will do everything possible score.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_01]: He gets to the blue paint.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_01]: He gets in the golly's face He's not afraid to take a beating in front He's a dog on the pocket.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_01]: He digs out loosepox.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_01]: He's an incredible playmaker And just he's the pest man.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_01]: He's just a pest out there and
- 31:08[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to get to those dirty areas of scored dirty goals.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'd love to see him on that first part cleaning.
- 31:13[SPEAKER_01]: If you're going to try and fix the first power plate, I think that's where you start.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, no, I definitely couldn't hurt to try something new and switch up the combination.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_03]: He's obviously been really good.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_03]: We've all seen the Zack Benson and a playoff environment, tweet where it's a monkey being, what movies have from the monkey being handed the, the Russia, but it's funny as hell.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe planned on the eighth.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_03]: My guess is planned out of the apes, but I don't know that for sure.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_03]: Somebody wants to chime in.
- 31:41[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think that,
- 31:43[SPEAKER_03]: putting talk on there is clearly a good idea.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_03]: A lot more movement, a lot more creativity.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_03]: I stress, I hope that they've been watching other teams that you'd think the avalanche would be the model, but their power plays not been good all season long.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_03]: And that actually weirdly makes me feel better that one of the few teams that has as much talent on their top power play unit as the Sabers do would be the avalanche and they've struggled.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_03]: So I think kind of like goalies power players
- 32:12[SPEAKER_03]: They go through stretches where they're completely stagnant and maybe we'll see in the first three or four games where they'll be at a 50% clip.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think that's it's out of the question.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_03]: I really don't.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, just just something different, even shipping and pucks, having guys going to the corners with speed rather than trying to carry it in, attempting the slingshot or the double slingshot every single time.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_03]: They need different options for both entry and puck movement while they're in the zone.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like a broken record because we've been saying this all season long, but they gotta try something different.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_03]: Even the goal that they had in game five where they broke the drought,
- 32:49[SPEAKER_03]: It was kind of off a broken play where Zuckers pass was deflected in front, came right back to him.
- 32:56[SPEAKER_03]: He got it over to Dallene on the weekside and he was able to fire in one time or then one off the post.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_03]: That was more of a transition goal than a true power play goal.
- 33:06[SPEAKER_03]: They're going to need to get to the front of the net, get tips, get rebounds.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_03]: Look at even the Tampa Montreal game.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if any of those were power play goals.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_03]: but the tips in that game seven are the archetype of the goal that you need in the playoffs on the power play.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_03]: Taking Dolby's eyes away, he's a big goalie, but getting a rebound, getting a dirty goal, scoring a goal like Benson did in game four on Swamenware where it was 2 on 0 in front of the net, but it gets to the neck and it goes off his skate into the net.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_03]: Gotta do something.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_03]: even Dali in an opportunity like Quinn Hughes the other night where people think he intentionally passed it off a defender skate.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_03]: I for one think he was trying to get it over to Caprice off in the back door either way, firing it off shin pads, doing whatever you possibly can to get a good bounce I think is paramount.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_01]: Do Quinn Hughes is like this is not a knock against like any other
- 34:08[SPEAKER_01]: 11 points in the first round for Quinn who's like that is a guy that's been fun to watch, especially when they're on the power play.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he is so unbelievably creative and so good at creating space and using his momentum and his leverage against defenders.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_03]: That's what makes the
- 34:36[SPEAKER_03]: is generational prospect, their best player, their former captain had to get in this position to probably draft Gavin McKenna, and unfortunately they won't be able to, likely.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, he's amazing, I think that, in my opinion, the top three defenseman.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_03]: in the league, at their best, are Quinn Hughes, Kalmokar, and Rasmus Dallene.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_03]: I think Dallene had a slow start to the series, but he was able to pick it up towards the end, and he eventually had 67% of the expected goals at five on five when he was on the ice throughout the entire series.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_03]: So even if he had a slow start having that number over the course of six games is really, really good.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_03]: He was able to pick it up and control play.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_03]: Kalmokar obviously does it in the same way.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_03]: There are essentially a fourth forward on the ice in terms of their offensive impacts and offensive rating.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_03]: They can do so much for you and especially when it's from the defensive end, it's insanely valuable to have a guy like that.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_03]: And the Canadians do as well.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_03]: Lane Hudson is obviously young, but he's had a really good impact to start his career, and it's going to be important to neutralize him as well.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he's young.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_03]: I think he might be 20 21 because he's got three younger brothers at this point.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_03]: No, he's 22.
- 35:58[SPEAKER_03]: So he's the oldest.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: Producing and producing at the clip, he produces like dude.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: He has been like incredible these past two years.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's going to be a guy, especially when they do get the man advantage.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure how they run their power play if they do that whole sling shot.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, him carrying the puck off the iceman, he's such a dangerous fast hockey player.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_01]: He's getting me, he's gonna be a tough to match up against, I mean, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a,
- 36:55[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think that at this point, that's the most likely scenario given how close at the numbers have been even throughout the regular season looking back and even in the playoffs.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I think there's this crazy stat that
- 37:10[SPEAKER_03]: I think 95% of the Canadians and lightning, first round matchup, was within one goal of each other, the entire series.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_03]: I think the first three games went to overtime.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't watch too much of it aside from game seven, the other night, but yeah, it is a really close series and despite Montreal getting nine shots in game seven, zero shots in the second period,
- 37:35[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think that's representative of what this team is.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_03]: They can play a run and gun style hockey.
- 37:41[SPEAKER_03]: I think they were being purposely conservative and trying to limit chances, and that's not necessarily the type of game that they play or play well.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_03]: and and same goes for the savers.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm expecting a back and forth affair, a really exciting series.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_03]: I think more exciting than a savers and lightning series would have been to be honest.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's potentially better match up for the savers because I think the lightning did a really good job of neutralizing Montreal's top guys and forechecking well and being physical and
- 38:17[SPEAKER_03]: This is this is the chance to show that they are this river hockey team that whoever called them that made them out to be, they can play a running gun style as well as anybody and finishing on their chances, hopefully being a little bit better on the power play and getting some continued great gold tenning from Alex line is going to be absolutely massive.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what I wanted to say.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: Well, before we get to that, I like this coming here from Josh Vaughn.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_01]: Um, well, by pronounced last name correctly.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I like to see more from Jack Quinn.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_01]: I couldn't agree anymore.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_01]: Um, especially, and with a matchup, which I really think.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think this is going to be like, I didn't really type games, but I could totally see these behind scoring games or else much more so than the games against Boston.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we had that, what was a game for, was it going for the six-one game?
- 39:16[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean,
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I need more from that guy.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_01]: You got to find ways to get him to find open eyes, get him in the lanes.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, maybe move him around and we're on the power of play.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe put him in that spot in that spot instead of teach.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, you got to find ways to get that guy open.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_01]: You see a left hand at shot or right hand shot.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_03]: Check Quinn right.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_01]: Is it right?
- 39:40[SPEAKER_01]: So why not put him in touch?
- 39:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's spot instead of teach.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: We'll teach around, put Quinn in that spot.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think they tried him on that top unit and clearly it wasn't very successful.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm not necessarily sure going back to him there is the answer at least in my opinion.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_03]: But I think this type of matchup against a team that is a little smaller, a little less physical than the Bruins is a much better scenario matchup for Jack Quinn.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_03]: I think this is his type of game.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_03]: This is the river hockey, open ice, able to use his skill type of scenario where he could really thrive.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_03]: I think he was bogged down a bit by the Bruins as the lightning did to the Canadians, really, really mucking it up with the savers and getting up early and playing their trap and playing their game where they sat back, they even did it when they were down for nothing, game four, which was hilarious.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, I think Jack Quinn
- 40:39[SPEAKER_03]: amongst anybody that has an opportunity to really be in a better spot.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's the most likely candidate in this series.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_01]: I don't agree.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_01]: One last to me before we get to the goal to any matchup.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_01]: Doug, when do you think of Habs fans potentially taking overkey bank?
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I know you've been vocal about it.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_01]: I know I've seen a lot of accounts on Twitter, like putting out posts.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_01]: Like if you were trying to sell your tickets, put them in the thread right here, let's sell on the Sabers fans, like I don't think it's going to be as bad as we've seen like during regular season games.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_01]: But I definitely predict you're going to have like 25% Montreal fans in the arena tomorrow night.
- 41:22[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and I think the hundred level specifically, like you see it on the broadcast like when you're in the arena you'll notice it a little bit more those red jerseys obviously really pop in contrast to all of the blue in the savers arena so in their of course they're crazy they're passionate they're really loud you got to give them credit for traveling as far as they do and apparently spending as much money as as they do so yeah it is what it is like.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_03]: I would love and I hope that the shaming that has gone on publicly of everybody has made Saber's fans considering putting them on the open secondary market.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_03]: I would hope that has had some type of effect.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_03]: I think that it's going to be less than it was in the regular season, and even if it's not, like, this is these are things that we can't control, like as we said in some course of free country.
- 42:11[SPEAKER_03]: And if you've got tickets, you have the ability to do it.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_03]: Nobody is stopping you from doing it.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_03]: I think there is a world where eventually there could be a way to get around this and to prevent people from doing it.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_03]: But as it currently stands, they're not.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_03]: there isn't and it's something we can't control.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_03]: So I think that the fans, hopefully, I mean, I think like you said, it's going to be less than it wasn't the regular season.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to be less than it was when the Sabers were not in a good spot as they are now.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_03]: And at the end of it, it's a hockey game.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_03]: The Sabers, it's not going to be a road game by any means.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_03]: I think that the Sabers fans that are there are going to be louder than they normally are and they will have
- 42:53[SPEAKER_03]: the majority and the noise will be there, but they've really thrived in Barnes with more adversity.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_03]: Look what they did in Boston, which had a lot of Sabers bands there, but it is still a very passionate, longstanding fan base.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm personally not worried about it.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's something I was concerned about going in just with the history, but it is what it is and I think it's going to be an honest issue.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get into the goal to any matchup.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_01]: The Lionverse Dolbis, right?
- 43:25[SPEAKER_01]: Dolbis, Dolbis, Dolbis.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_01]: He gave us the tough goal when we played.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_01]: The only goal out of the two wins we have, I think both of them were both months and both.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_01]: They were either months and both.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_03]: Either months and both were pre-mo, yeah.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: K, pre-mo, yeah.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_01]: We as Camfaller.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_01]: He's all too.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_01]: He's also in the mix.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's I think I want to say we'd be Kim Fowler and Montamo.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, maybe we definitely didn't be Dobis Dobis gave us one hall of a game.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_01]: We lost.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_01]: I remember that.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think he was two and all against the sabers this year and the Canadian to win.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_03]: And down the stretch, he was one of the best goalies in the league.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_03]: He had, I think, in the final three months or something like 15 goals saved above expected.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_03]: He's a big guy.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_03]: He's modeled his game interestingly, ironically enough after Andrew Vasilevsky.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_03]: I think that was obviously pretty cool for him to be decided on play as well as he did in game seven.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_03]: If you were to ask me which goalie I would have rather faced in the second round, Jacob Dobis or Andre Vasilevsky, I think 95% of Saber's fans would say Jacob Dobis.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_03]: So I think there is some fortune in that sense, and with as well as how exclines playing at the moment, 95 save percentage in round one against Boston.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_03]: I think you could say the Saber's have a slight edge.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_03]: But goal-tending is also comes down to team defense and I think the combination of the two things with the Sabers being as good defensively as they have been.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_03]: The Canadians were good all season long too, so there's not much to bat an eye out there.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_03]: I would give the slight edge to the Sabers just an experience and maybe even a little bit of skill from the defensive end, but it is close, and he's playing really well, so definitely should not be open.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we have some comments in here too from Gargoyle on the main issue is Pete decided to give extra tickets to season ticket holders, totally unnecessary to give extra tickets to controllers as some kind of gratuitity.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_01]: Essentially, he's saying there are selling their tickets to match your offense for the highest bidder.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_01]: I personally, I was sent that email, I declined
- 45:49[SPEAKER_01]: I would have sold into a Saber's fan even if it would have meant a little bit less money coming my way, but yeah, I agree any Saber's fan who's selling their tickets to Montreal fans shame them shame in the hell Getting back to the going match up
- 46:06[SPEAKER_01]: Lion, I mean, you could easily say he was the MVP of that first round against Boston.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_01]: This is easily been the most successful.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_01]: He's been in his NHL career.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_01]: I am very interested to see how well he performs this deep into playoffs.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_01]: This is the most he's played ever in an NHL season.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_01]: This is the most pressure he's ever been under.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_01]: I, and listen, that arena is gonna be loud tomorrow night.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_01]: I did hear, I forget who was talking about it was not, I forgot who was talking about in GR.
- 46:45[SPEAKER_01]: When you talk about him between him and you PL, I think that given this long break that they've had was in our five days, or else, five days between games.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so I need to, to Wednesday, yeah.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_01]: I feel pretty comfortable even with that long layoff.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_01]: having lying back there.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_01]: And this isn't a shot against like UPL.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_03]: I think that only that only helps him in his age.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, but if you if you want to think about it as a goal, yeah, I don't I'm not up.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not a fan of having such a long way off, but if you think about it, UPL's way off has been even even even longer.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_01]: So given him being the veteran over two weeks,
- 47:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so you can't simulate in game real in game play approach.
- 47:33[SPEAKER_01]: You just can't.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_01]: players aren't coming at you as hard.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_01]: They're not as physical, the intensity just isn't always going to be there, even in practice for the playoffs.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_01]: So I feel really comfortable having a season veteran who has been in playoff runs before.
- 47:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, maybe not so much at the NHL level, but he has
- 48:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm very comfortable having Alex Lyon in there.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_01]: Over the rookie Jacob Duplish.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think this is as we've heard time and time again, especially in the playoffs.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_03]: This is Lyon's net until he gives it up or if the team somehow does not perform well or extremely unwell in front of him to the point where it wasn't necessarily his fault, but he lets in a bunch of goals in one singular game.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_03]: I think that Alex Lyon will continue to start and hopefully he does because that means the Sabers are playing well, he's playing well and they'll be able to keep the steady ship going into these her conference finals.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_03]: That would be the ideal scenario.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_03]: But if UPL is called on, I think we can all be confident knowing that
- 48:51[SPEAKER_03]: The Sabers do have a very, very capable goal ready to come in in in case there is a situation where it's necessitated I personally think that he was of course a little bit shaky to begin the first round against the Bruins, but he also made some big saves as as we've discussed in in game one on the breakways against Pasternak and even to begin game two before.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_03]: The the weird balance and everything happened there.
- 49:14[SPEAKER_03]: I think that he's more than capable to play well on the playoffs and it's a very good thing to have those two options But absolutely lines net until he gives it up Who's your direct course for that for each team?
- 49:31[SPEAKER_01]: In the second round.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_01]: Well, who's your pick one guy from each team?
- 49:35[SPEAKER_03]: Hmm, uh, given what we said earlier, I say Jack Quinn for the Sabers.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_03]: I think that he is the type of player that will exist well in this type of matchup that is absolutely going to be less physical than it was and round one.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_03]: I think that it is a much better scenario for him to use his skill and a much better fashion.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_03]: There will be much more open ice.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_03]: He's really succeeded in the past with that type of situation.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_03]: So,
- 50:12[SPEAKER_03]: In the chances he's given, I think, and I mean, even look at the pass he made to Samelson, and game one to set up the game one in gold, I think he's gonna have a lot more opportunities to succeed in this type of series.
- 50:27[SPEAKER_03]: And for the Canadians, I'll go with Demedov, strictly because,
- 50:33[SPEAKER_03]: He only wanted system the first round.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, one assists and that would make him a dark horse technically going into this round.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_03]: But he's just so unbelievably talented.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_03]: He is so fast.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_03]: He is a really, really impactful hockey player when he's out as best.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_03]: So I think he would have the chance, maybe with a little bit more room this series, to potentially, in a similar way to Jack Quinn, get more open ice to use the speed and use the skill uses playmaking ability.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_01]: We got jayver here.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_01]: These would be crabs.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a good peckman and he had a great, he had a great round one.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully and before before he was injured, I mean all three players that came back in the Jack, I go trade have been huge parts of this lineup to start the playoffs.
- 51:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, I'm absolutely, I think I'm going to be in on Crab's, I think Crab's continues where you left off and around and around the one, we'll see where it, you know, if anything changes with that top line with the carac coming back, I mean, what is that fourth line with carac back in line up.
- 51:51[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's probably Karrick, Malenstein, and Greenway.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_01]: I would have to guess.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_01]: You would think, yeah, I think you would be right.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_01]: And people complained about Greenway, too.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_01]: I get it.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_01]: He's slow.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_01]: He's not as talented as he was being, you know, back when he was at Minnesota.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that first year of Buffalo injuries of definitely take a toll on him.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_01]: But there is a place for him on this team.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: He is a great penalty killer.
- 52:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's a good five on five player.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_03]: He's a big body.
- 52:19[SPEAKER_03]: He plays physicality.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_03]: I get it.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't provide you much offensively, but not every guy in the playoffs, you know, everybody plays a role, right?
- 52:29[SPEAKER_01]: And he is a great penalty killer for them.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_01]: He, you know, he is a good shut down forward.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_01]: And he's gone, sorry.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, no, no.
- 52:39[SPEAKER_03]: I was just going to say, yeah, I mean, like, especially in that role in a specialized situation where it's going to matter as much as it will in this series.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_03]: It is important.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, you'd like more, but also that's not necessarily what you're asking for from your fourth line.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_03]: I think that you can get a lucky goal here in there as we saw from back Malenstein throughout the season, and even in Carrick's limited game, he had a few opportunities that he conferred it on, but as long as are responsible defensively, and if they can add an ad bonus to be good on the penalty kill, not the worst situation to have green win the lineup.
- 53:13[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm not at all.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to come back to our sponsors, shout out again to Fatty Beer Company, Western York's premier American and tap them with over 300 beers, the shoot show.

- 53:30[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, and as we did in the first round, Big Time Watch Party at Fatty Beer and Leancaster,
- 53:40[SPEAKER_01]: Game 3 is on Mother's Day.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_01]: So shout out to all the moms out there.
- 53:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to respect you not do what I'm on Mother's Day.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_01]: But another watch party for Game 4 at the Fatty Beer and Lane Castle remains to reach shut it down.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_01]: We had two around 2,000 people there.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_01]: The first one, expect to even more this time.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_01]: I do know the the savers for Game 4 are doing that casino thing again.
- 54:02[SPEAKER_01]: And then they're doing for games six, I think they're going to do a watch party at the arena, but game for biggest watch party in all Western New York outdoor.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_01]: At Fatty Beer and Lancaster, make sure you come.

- 56:02[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get to your final thoughts.
- 56:08[SPEAKER_01]: you cannot be heard.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_01]: We cannot hear you.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_03]: Here we are.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_03]: My final thoughts were Sabers in 7.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_03]: I think that is the most likely possibilities for this series as we look at it from a number of vibes perspective anything that you want.
- 56:25[SPEAKER_03]: I think it is more likely than not that the series is going 7.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_03]: It would be nice
- 56:33[SPEAKER_03]: either four or five or six, but I think these teams are too evenly matched.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_03]: The atmosphere is an each building are going to be absolutely insane.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_03]: And I personally think it's going to be the most entertaining series of the playoffs.
- 56:46[SPEAKER_03]: I think what the lightning and Canadians.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_03]: Just did showed us that it absolutely can be that close.
- 56:54[SPEAKER_03]: It can be that exciting.
- 56:55[SPEAKER_03]: But I think with the play styles and how they match up, I think the Sabers and Canadians is arguably way more intriguing and way more exciting from.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_03]: a strictly hockey purist perspective with all of this talent, all of these super-young talented players, I think there is a chance that this could be one of the instant classic type playoff series in NHL history.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_03]: And maybe it won't be that, who knows?
- 57:22[SPEAKER_03]: But I think everything about the numbers, everything about just looking at these teams even with the eye test shows you that there is a chance this series could be exactly like that.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_03]: And honestly, I hope it is.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_03]: It would be super stressful to go to seven games and whatever fashion it does.
- 57:37[SPEAKER_03]: But I do think that ultimately, the savers have a tiny bit of an edge in that tiny bit of an edge on defense and their top nine top to bottom is better than the Canadians.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe you give the slight edge to the talent on the Canadians top line and definitely their power play.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_03]: But I think top to bottom, the savers are slightly about our team as they proved in the regular season winning the act of mission.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_03]: So savers in six in the first round, savers in seven in the second round.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_03]: And we'll see what happens in these recovered files.
- 58:10[SPEAKER_03]: It can't be eight.
- 58:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think this has the potential to the most exciting round of the playoffs for around two.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_01]: No doubt about it.
- 58:17[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 58:17[SPEAKER_01]: Would you agree?
- 58:18[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 58:19[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 58:19[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, 100% without a doubt.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_03]: And I hope it is because I think Saber's fans, hockey fans really deserve that.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_03]: And, uh,
- 58:27[SPEAKER_03]: I think it's going to be way more exciting than the style that the Bruins played and the only style they knew how to play.
- 58:34[SPEAKER_03]: I think this is going to be a little bit closer to the Riverhockey memes that people talk about with this team.
- 58:40[SPEAKER_03]: And yeah, I'm even from a non-sabers perspective, and I'll have to like try to get there because otherwise it's too nerve-racking.
- 58:49[SPEAKER_03]: Just loving the game of hockey, I think this is going to be insanely entertaining.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 58:56[UNKNOWN]: And
- 58:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think there has a potential to be really high scoring, but I think goal 10 is going to be so important in the series when I again I say high scoring, but I I say that for both teams we haven't even seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what darling has the offer, you know, we haven't seen the tip of the iceberg, we want to see what the stage has to offer.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_01]: Jack Quinn, hopefully you said earlier.
- 59:23[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully he gets going.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_01]: Alex talk, hopefully he keeps playing at the clip.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_01]: The clip he is, there's a lot to be excited about for as just the outside looking in as a hockey fan.
- 59:33[SPEAKER_01]: If you're not a famous fan, you're not a Montreal fan, and there's a lot to be excited about with it with this match up between Buffalo Montreal.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_01]: But.
