Speaker 1: Zara Bondani said in an interview this week that he
• 0:03
Speaker 1: was open to being the poster child for socialist candidates.
• 0:07
Speaker 1: Are you worried about more socialist candidates across the United
• 0:09
  Speaker 1: Station's big.
• 0:10
Speaker 2: Threat to our nation? Actually, because it's not socialism, it's
• 0:13
Speaker 2: really communism. They use the word social democrat because it
• 0:16
Speaker 2: sounds so nice, but it's really communism you're talking about.
• 0:20
Speaker 2: I think it's the biggest threat to our nation there is,
• 0:23
Speaker 2: maybe since our founding. I think this is the biggest
• 0:26
Speaker 2: threat to our nation. People will smile when I say that,
• 0:29
Speaker 2: but the smart people are going to say, you know,
• 0:31
  Speaker 2: he's probably right.
• 0:32
Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
• 0:36
Speaker 4: Good Thursday morning. Nice have you with us on the
• 0:38
Speaker 4: forty seven Morning Update, And we've got one big story
• 0:41
Speaker 4: for you. The Supreme Court may have ruled to protect
• 0:44
Speaker 4: women's sports, but now we're finding out what Democrats plan
• 0:47
Speaker 4: to do next and it's going to be central to
• 0:50
Speaker 4: their midterm election strategy. Get ready for another fight? All right?
• 0:55
Speaker 4: I want to take a moment. I want to talk
• 0:57
Speaker 4: to you about a company that I use every days,
• 1:00
Speaker 4: Patriot Mobile, and so many brands today claim to stand
• 1:03
Speaker 4: for American values, but most of the time, well it's
• 1:06
Speaker 4: all talk and it's no action. That's why Patriot Mobile
• 1:09
Speaker 4: is different. For more than twelve years, Patriot Mobile has
• 1:12
Speaker 4: been living their values and standing in the gap for
• 1:16
Speaker 4: every American who believes freedom is worth fighting for. Their
• 1:19
Speaker 4: business was founded on a simple conviction. If culture is
• 1:23
Speaker 4: being shaped through commerce, Americans deserve a real conservative alternative.
• 1:29
Speaker 4: Now today, Patriot Mobile is America's only Christian conservative wireless provider,
• 1:35
Speaker 4: and what they offer is premium priority nationwide service on

Speaker 4: data plans, international roaming, and a one hundred percent US

Speaker 4: even have two separate networks on one phone that gives
• 1:55

• 1:58
Speaker 4: with the other carriers. Now, besides the great tech, what
• 2:02
Speaker 4: truly sets Patriot Mobile apart is their mission. Every year,
• 2:05
Speaker 4: Patriot Mobile contributes millions let me say that again, millions
• 2:10
Speaker 4: of dollars to organizations defending free speech, religious liberty, the
• 2:15
Speaker 4: sanctity of life, the Second Amendment, and America's future. Patriot
• 2:19
Speaker 4: Mobile isn't sitting on the sidelines. They're on the front
• 2:22
Speaker 4: lines fighting for our freedoms, and every time you pay

Speaker 4: seven or call nine seven to Patriot Today. It's a
• 2:50
Speaker 4: forty seven morning update and it starts right now.
• 2:53
  Speaker 3: Story number one.
• 2:54
Speaker 4: The Supreme Court, they may have settled one legal question,
• 2:58
Speaker 4: but politically, we're now seeing exactly what the Democrats are
• 3:02
Speaker 4: ready to do when it comes to allowing men in
• 3:06
Speaker 4: women's sports. Now, the Supreme Court ruled that states like
• 3:09
Speaker 4: Idaho and West Virginia can in fact enforce laws preventing
• 3:13
Speaker 4: transgender girls from competing in girls' sports, and Democrats, well,
• 3:18
Speaker 4: they immediately began making it clear they've got no intention
• 3:22
Speaker 4: of backing down. Instead, now they're preparing to make it
• 3:26
Speaker 4: one of their main defining issues heading into the midterm
• 3:29
Speaker 4: election cycle. JD. Pritzker saying this on CNN about the Rulingprome.
• 3:35
Speaker 1: Court also today allowed states to ban transgender athletes from
• 3:39
Speaker 1: joining women's and girls teams. Do you think the Court
• 3:43
Speaker 1: was right on that or do you think they were wrong?
• 3:46
Speaker 5: Well, look, we believe that people have a right to
• 3:49
Speaker 5: live the life that they were born to the life
• 3:52
Speaker 5: that they want to and in Illinois anyway, we protect
• 3:57
Speaker 5: LGBTQ plus rights, we protect trans kids. Remember in Illinois
• 4:03
Speaker 5: trans athletes. We literally in high school have three trans athletes.
• 4:08
Speaker 5: We have one hundred and thirty three thousand athletes in
• 4:11
Speaker 5: total in our high schools, and three of them are trans.
• 4:15
Speaker 5: Why is the Republican Party focusing on this issue? Why
• 4:18
Speaker 5: have they passed laws in I think twenty seven states
• 4:22
Speaker 5: that have restricted or banned outright trans kids being athletes
• 4:29
Speaker 5: in schools. It seems to me like, you know, they're
• 4:32
Speaker 5: just again, they're trying to foment on an issue that frankly,
• 4:36
Speaker 5: I think we ought to be talking about bigger things.
• 4:38
Speaker 5: I know, in the state of Illinois we have much
• 4:40
Speaker 5: bigger challenges as they do all across the country, with
• 4:43
Speaker 5: things like they've cut snap benefits, they've cut Medicaid, they've
• 4:47
Speaker 5: made life harder for people, raised prices. These are all
• 4:50
Speaker 5: things that we're having to deal with in our states,
• 4:52
Speaker 5: and they're trying to distract with something that has very
• 4:55
  Speaker 5: little impact.
• 4:56
Speaker 4: Not to be clear, Dady Prinsker is saying that somehow
• 4:59
Speaker 4: Republicans are the ones that did this, even though it
• 5:02
Speaker 4: was Democrats that were allowing boys in women's sports. Then
• 5:07
Speaker 4: he says it's nothing but a distraction and he wasn't
• 5:10
Speaker 4: done there. He also again laying the groundwork for what
• 5:14
Speaker 4: Democrats truly believe in, and that is destroying women in
• 5:19
Speaker 4: the games that they play and the scholarships that they
• 5:22
Speaker 4: receive and the awards they receive.
• 5:24
Speaker 1: But Republicans are using it in political campaigns, political messaging
• 5:29
Speaker 1: on the issue itself, do you think the court was right?
• 5:33
Speaker 5: I think that we ought to be protecting trans kids,
• 5:36
Speaker 5: So you think they were think, I can tell you
• 5:38
Speaker 5: this that those trans kids, you know, I'm sure you've
• 5:42
Speaker 5: seen the statistics that depression and other mental health challenges
• 5:47
Speaker 5: are following these kids because of the way they're being
• 5:50
Speaker 5: treated in some communities. We ought to be sympathizing with
• 5:53
Speaker 5: the parents. We ought to be trying to help them
• 5:55
Speaker 5: help their children and not putting barriers in the way
• 5:58
Speaker 5: of children just being hits.
• 6:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, and Justice Kavanaugh was writing that he doesn't think
• 6:03
Speaker 1: that transgender athletes should be vilified or ostracized. When you
• 6:08
Speaker 1: look at the numbers, though, there was a Reuter's IPSOS
• 6:11
Speaker 1: poll that found that sixty seven percent of Americans agree
• 6:14
Speaker 1: with the transgender athlete ban. Do you find yourself in
• 6:18
Speaker 1: agreement with those sixty seven percent of Americans?
• 6:21
Speaker 5: I think that, first of all, this is a decision
• 6:24
  Speaker 5: that gets made by a family. That's a decision that's
• 6:26
Speaker 5: been handled by schools and school districts for a number
• 6:30
Speaker 5: of years. Now, I think we had to let it
• 6:32
Speaker 5: happen at the local level as it has been. The
• 6:35
Speaker 5: three in Illinois have been just fine.
• 6:38
Speaker 4: Isn't it interesting how Democrats use this issue and pushed
• 6:42
Speaker 4: this issue and demanded this issue, and now they're trying
• 6:45
Speaker 4: to downplay it while also making it a very clear
• 6:48
Speaker 4: central point going into the mid terms. Now, for Republicans,
• 6:52
Speaker 4: this decision represents years of well campaigning and fighting and
• 6:56
Speaker 4: finally it paid off. Donald Trump made protecting women in
• 7:00
Speaker 4: sports a signature issue because of people like Pritzker. Now,
• 7:05
Speaker 4: let's be clear, when Donald Trump was running, he said,
• 7:08
Speaker 4: not only am I going to sign executive actions, not
• 7:11
Speaker 4: only am I going to pressure athletic organizations, but I'm
• 7:14
Speaker 4: also going to make the logical argument that biological women
• 7:18
Speaker 4: deserve a level playing field. More than half the states,
• 7:22
Speaker 4: and you heard JB talk about this just a second ago,
• 7:25
Speaker 4: more than half of the country has already passed laws
• 7:29
Speaker 4: that were then up for grabs with a Supreme Court
• 7:33
Speaker 4: banning men from competing in women's sports. Now, the political
• 7:37
Speaker 4: battle is now going to move to the campaign trail.
• 7:41
Speaker 4: Democratic leaders and activist organizations. They're already out there arguing
• 7:47
Speaker 4: and targeting the very small number they say have transgender
• 7:50
Speaker 4: student athletes. Well, it is discrimination and the treatment of
• 7:54
Speaker 4: transgender youth is terrible, even though this law and the
• 7:58
Speaker 4: Supreme Court ruling has nothing to do with how you
• 8:00
Speaker 4: actually treat a person. They're also promising to continue the
• 8:04
Speaker 4: legal challenges everywhere they can. Now support of the ruling
• 8:09
Speaker 4: is also well, very different. Many conservatives say this is
• 8:13
Speaker 4: a victory for common sense because you should absolutely protect
• 8:17
Speaker 4: women's sports. There should be fairness in athletics, and they
• 8:21
Speaker 4: point to all of the scholarships, what President Trump did well,
• 8:25
Speaker 4: the roster spots, the championships, the athletic record books that
• 8:29
Speaker 4: are changed when a man competes with women and biological differences.
• 8:34
Speaker 4: It matters in competitive sports, and that's exactly why this
• 8:38
Speaker 4: made it all the way to the Supreme Court. But
• 8:41
Speaker 4: to be clear, what democrats are now going to do
• 8:45
Speaker 4: is they're going to say that you've dehumanized trans athletes.
• 8:50
Speaker 4: If you want to start a trans league, you can
• 8:52
Speaker 4: absolutely do it. No one is stopping you. Yes, trans
• 8:56
Speaker 4: athletes can compete, but women should not be forced to
• 9:02
Speaker 4: compete with men. Now, I want to take you back
• 9:06
Speaker 4: to some of the arguments that were made the first case.
• 9:09
Speaker 4: I was there for those oral arguments dealt with Idaho,
• 9:13
Speaker 4: and I want you to hear the back and forth
• 9:15
Speaker 4: of what actually happened and why the court got to
• 9:18
Speaker 4: the decision they have. Right now, you'll cut this part up.
• 9:21
Speaker 6: Idaho's law classifies on the basis of sex because sex
• 9:24
Speaker 6: is what matters in sports. It correlates strongly with countless
• 9:28
Speaker 6: athletic advantages like size, muscle mass, bone mass, and heart
• 9:32
Speaker 6: and lung capacity. Tragically, but not surprisingly, male athletes that
• 9:37
Speaker 6: you can injured female athletes in many sports. If women
• 9:40
Speaker 6: don't have their own competitions, they won't be able to compete.
• 9:44
Speaker 7: And I don't know how you can say sex classification
• 9:47
Speaker 7: is not being challenged. There's no question here that a
• 9:52
Speaker 7: male who identifies as a female, but it's a male
• 9:55
Speaker 7: who is being excluded from a female sport, correct, That's correct,
• 10:00
Speaker 7: all right, by its nature, that's his sex classification. In
• 10:04
Speaker 7: all sex classifications. We have said repeatedly in our case,
• 10:08
Speaker 7: law require intermediate scrutiny.
• 10:11
Speaker 8: They are an awful lot of female athletes who are
• 10:16
Speaker 8: strongly opposed to participation by trans athletes and competitions with them.
• 10:24
Speaker 8: What do you say about them? They Are they bigots?
• 10:29
Speaker 8: Are they diluted in thinking that they are subjected to
• 10:32
  Speaker 8: unfair competition?
• 10:34
Speaker 5: No, your own I.
• 10:35
Speaker 8: Would never call anyone that.
• 10:37
Speaker 9: On the preliminary record in this case, and as the
• 10:39
Speaker 9: experts below agreed, circulating testosterone after puberty is the main
• 10:44
Speaker 9: determinant of sex based biological advantage that HB five hundred
• 10:48
Speaker 9: sought to address, and on this record, Lindsay Hecox has
• 10:51
Speaker 9: mitigated that advantage because she has suppressed her testosterone for
• 10:54
Speaker 9: over a year and taken estrogen. HB five hundred thus
• 10:58
Speaker 9: fails heightened scrutiny as a applied to Lindsay and transgender
• 11:01
Speaker 9: women like her who have no sex based biological advantage
• 11:05
Speaker 9: as compared to birth sex females.
• 11:07
Speaker 10: So it's going to come to this court and we
• 11:12
Speaker 10: have to decide for the whole country constitutionalize this. I
• 11:16
Speaker 10: guess given that half the states are allowing it, allowing
• 11:21
Speaker 10: transgender girls and women to participate in about half or not,
• 11:26
Speaker 10: why would we at this point, just the role of
• 11:28
Speaker 10: this court jump in and try to constitutionalize a rule
• 11:31
Speaker 10: for the whole country while they're still, as you say,
• 11:35
  Speaker 10: uncertainty in debabe.
• 11:37
Speaker 4: So here's what we know from all of that back
• 11:40
Speaker 4: and forth. The Supreme Court justices came out and they
• 11:43
Speaker 4: said we must protect women's sports from men. Now, this
• 11:48
Speaker 4: is going to become a defining issue for the midterm elections.
• 11:51
Speaker 4: Elections are typically shaped by multiple factors, including the economy, immigration, inflation,
• 11:57
Speaker 4: and international events. But both parties here clearly see the
• 12:02
Speaker 4: transgender policy is an issue that energizes important parts of
• 12:06
Speaker 4: their base their coalitions. And one thing is actually certain
• 12:10
Speaker 4: now the Supreme Court issued it, truly, but the political debate,
• 12:15
Speaker 4: at least from the side of radical Democrats is only intensifying.
