Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's early of what it praise party. I am Sherry Maggie,
- 0:03Speaker 1: and it's time right now for today's word. The power
- 0:07Speaker 1: of calling on God. The power of calling on God,
- 0:11Speaker 1: Psalms fifty five, sixteen eighteen says, but I will call
- 0:15Speaker 1: on God and the Lord will rescue me. He ransoms
- 0:18Speaker 1: me and keeps me safe from the battle waged against me.
- 0:23Speaker 1: You know, sometimes the greatest battle we fight are the
- 0:26Speaker 1: wants no one else can see. You can look fine
- 0:30Speaker 1: on the outside while carrying fear, anxiety, discouragement, and worry
- 0:34Speaker 1: on the inside. The enemy knows that if he can
- 0:37Speaker 1: capture your thoughts, he'll eventually influence your words, your decisions,
- 0:41Speaker 1: and your confidence. That's why he works tirelessly to whisper
- 0:46Speaker 1: lies into your mind. You'll never get through this. Things
- 0:49Speaker 1: are never going to change. You're all alone. God has
- 0:53Speaker 1: forgotten about you. King David understood those attacks. This mighty
- 0:57Speaker 1: warrior who defeated lions and and the giant Goliath, found
- 1:02Speaker 1: himself facing an enemy he couldn't fight with the sword
- 1:05Speaker 1: and Psalms. Fifty five, David describes being overwhelmed with fear.
- 1:10Speaker 1: His heart was pounding, his emotions were shaken. He wanted
- 1:13Speaker 1: to run away and escape the pressure surrounding him. The
- 1:17Speaker 1: encouraging truth is that David didn't stay there. Instead of
- 1:21Speaker 1: allowing fear to have the final word, David made a
- 1:24Speaker 1: decision that changed everything. He declared, but I will call
- 1:29Speaker 1: on God. Those five simple words are filled with faith.
- 1:35Speaker 1: David didn't deny the battle was real. He simply recognized
- 1:39Speaker 1: that his God was greater than the battle. We often
- 1:43Speaker 1: have the tendency to call everyone else first. We call
- 1:46Speaker 1: family members, trusted friends, co workers, counselors, or neighbors. There
- 1:51Speaker 1: are is certainly wisdom, y'all, and seeking godly counsel and
- 1:54Speaker 1: allowing others to encourage us. But before we call anyone else,
- 1:58Speaker 1: we should always call the one who holds all the
- 2:01Speaker 1: power in his hands. Call on the God who calmed
- 2:05Speaker 1: the raging sea. Call on the God who brought Lazarus
- 2:08Speaker 1: out of the grave. Call on the God who shut
- 2:10Speaker 1: the mouth of the lion for Daniel. Call on the
- 2:13Speaker 1: God who made a way through the red sea. Call
- 2:15Speaker 1: on the God who has never lost a battle. Come
- 2:19Speaker 1: on Jesus when you call on him. Peace begans to
- 2:22Speaker 1: replace panic, Hope begans to overcome despair. Strength begins to
- 2:26Speaker 1: rise where weakness once lived. The circumstances may not change immediately,
- 2:31Speaker 1: but something changes within you because God's presence enters the battle.
- 2:37Speaker 1: The same God who rescued David is still rescuing his
- 2:41Speaker 1: children today. Perhaps you're carrying a burden that feels too heavy. Baby.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Anxiety has been stealing your sleep, fear has been clouding
- 2:49Speaker 1: your future, or discouragement has been draining your joy. Don't
- 2:52Speaker 1: carry it alone. Call on the Lord. He hears every prayer,
- 2:56Speaker 1: he sees every tear, He knows every struggle. He promises
- 2:59Speaker 1: to strengthen and sustained those who put their trust in him.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Your battle is not bigger than your God. His grace
- 3:08Speaker 1: is sufficient, his power is unlimited, his love is unwavering.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Just call and watch him go to work on your behalf.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Oh Father God, thank you that we never have to
- 3:19Speaker 1: face life's battles by ourselves. Thank you for inviting us
- 3:23Speaker 1: to call upon you at any moment, knowing that you
- 3:25Speaker 1: hear every prayer and understand every bird and we carry.
- 3:28Speaker 1: When fear tries to overwhelm us, remind us that you
- 3:32Speaker 1: are our refuge and our strength. Replace our anxiety with
- 3:35Speaker 1: your perfect peace, our worry with unwavering faith and discouragement
- 3:39Speaker 1: with fresh hope. God, we declare today that you are
- 3:42Speaker 1: our defender, You're our deliver, you are ever present help
- 3:45Speaker 1: in times of trouble. We trust you to fight the
- 3:48Speaker 1: battles we cannot fight on our own, and we believe
- 3:51Speaker 1: that you're already making a way where we cannot see
- 3:54Speaker 1: one in Jesus' name. Now that's your word for today.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Take it apply to your everyday life, and you continue
- 4:00Speaker 1: to be encouraged and inspired his early morning praise party,
- 4:04Speaker 1: I am Sherry Mackie
