A major investment announcement relating to Shannon is expected to be made later this summer. Speaking in the Dáil, Fine Gael Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, Peter Burke has said he hopes there will be a "very significant announcement during the summer by a leading Irish-born company in relation to Shannon".
