  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars announced yesterday, yesterday afternoon, June 30th, promotions for Shane Waldron and Heath Farwell, Shane Waldron has been the Jaguars passing game coordinator, going into his second year in that position under Liam Cohen, Grant Ydensky.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So he is now also the assistant head coach.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Heath Farwell has been the special teams coordinator here for a while, what was his first year in Jacksonville?

  [SPEAKER_00]: the entirety of the team, and I know there's a lot of bear's fans and seahawks fans out there that would be like Shane Waldron, what the hell are you doing?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Quote, these elevations for Shannon Heath are certainly well-earned as both were instrumental upon our arrival last year, but more than that, they will be key figures in the coming years as we push to establish a sustainable winning culture here in Jacksonville.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like he's someone who has not minced words when it comes to criticism or praise, when it comes to challenging or praising, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: This is great, obviously, for both Waldron and Farwell, I would assume it probably comes with a little pay up pay bump, but let's start with Heath Farwell.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Since he's been around here, he was like one of the big pieces to the picture for the Jaguar's ownership.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They wanted to keep he far well after they moved on from Doug Peterson and Trimbalki and they were able to do that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I think Heath is a great coach.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He is the same guy every day.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He is fired up about special teams and football in general, very excitable.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Like if you're on the practice field you've seen like he's helping out around the team like when there's no big special teams Work going on he is involved.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's not just sitting there twirling his thumbs and You know, he's a guy who played in this league a long time.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously the benefit of a lot of talent on special teams.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He has had a lot of talent on special teams.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars has an organization since he's been here.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe somewhat thanks to his influence, but they have been heavily invested in special teams.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Logan Cook was here before him, but they went and got raw somaticic, they drafted cam little, that's probably the best trio of long snap or punter and kicker in the league, and then you've also had just an emphasis on drafting players and adding players.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and keeping players that are really good special teamers.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So that's been a huge benefit for him, but he's also made the most of that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And coach some of these young players into being better special teamers, more impactful, more consistent.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Just that desire to go down there and make the play.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes that's all it takes, the desire and the understanding of your assignment.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I think Heath Farwell, so well learned.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm happy to see him be the associate at Coach.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then as far as Shane Waldron goes, again, people were slamming this guy, absolutely slamming this guy when the Jaguar is hired him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: People from Chicago, Seattle, I know that like even Jason has had some negative comments about Shane Waldron.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he've heard some thanks from Bears players too, but

  [SPEAKER_00]: for what he was asked to do with the jags.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He did a tremendous job.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He was the pass game coordinator.

  [SPEAKER_00]: still is.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But he also had so many roles for specific game planning, specific scheming, red zone, third down, and also like he had a part to play when it came to like even more detailed situational football.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars improved in a lot

  [SPEAKER_00]: from a situational football standpoint, I think they can continue to do that, but Liam obviously, as he said, has full trust and Shane Waldron.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And one thing to keep in mind here that is pretty fascinating, it does not seem like Grant Edinsky is going to be the

  [SPEAKER_00]: He has already interviewed for had coaching jobs.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Think, is he 30 yet?

  [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't really matter, but just like how young he is as an incredible.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he turned 30 in January.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Younger than me, by fairly significant margin at this point, I'm 35, but so,

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you didn't think he's going to be around all that long would Shane Waldron potentially be the next offensive coordinator or alternatively does making him the assistant head coach potentially.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Stop him from going with Grant Yudinsky, wherever Grant Yudinsky ends up going.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the Jaguars are able to keep him in the fold as their past game coordinator.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And obviously, as I said, I had coach and just someone who Liam Cohen leans on a lot on the offensive side of the ball.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then they end up promoting from within or finding someone else out there that, you know, maybe he's a rising star with the Rams

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know, Sean McVay, Shannon Han, Coaching Tree.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think both of those things could potentially be options, you know, him being the potential successor to Yadinsky or him just, Liam Cohen wanting to keep him around even if Yadinsky does end up getting a head coaching job somewhere.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguar is a position them well on themselves well on both sides of the ball to be able to overcome any potential losses.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think losing Udinsky would be problematic like he is a great coach.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think losing Anthony Campanile would be very problematic.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He is a great coach, but you have guys assistance.

  [SPEAKER_00]: on the staff that I think you could interview at the very least and potentially higher promote as as coordinators.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then obviously there's always guys around the league that you could potentially look at.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I think the jacks are in a great spot from a coaching standpoint.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited for Shane Waldron because there was so much negativity not just from fans but like people within the league criticizing him.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then, he'd far well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's never really been criticized, obviously.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The bills, I think, made a mistake letting him go.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's landed on his feet really quickly with the Jaguars and he's been just an exemplary coach since arriving in Jacksonville.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think in pretty much every sense of the word, so excited for those two guys.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, you don't want to put the car before the horse with Udinsky and Campanulate potentially getting jobs, but if the Jaguars do what they did last year, maybe even make it further in the playoffs?
