- 0:00Speaker 1: Bootleg cap podcast. I've been watching these guys for a
- 0:03Speaker 1: very long time. I feel like that they are spearheading
- 0:06Speaker 1: a really dope movement of financial literacy and the hip
- 0:09Speaker 1: hop community and communities of color and just younger generations.
- 0:12Speaker 1: I've learned a lot from y'all. Man, we got to
- 0:14Speaker 1: earn your leisure podcasts in the building. It's good. First
- 0:19Speaker 1: things first, how did y'all link up? We grew up together.
- 0:23Speaker 1: So he's two years older than me. So I was
- 0:27Speaker 1: in sixth grade and he was in eighth grade. And
- 0:30Speaker 1: at the time, there was a member this movie Eddie
- 0:33Speaker 1: Woopie Goldberg Go Over with Your Coach. They had extras,
- 0:38Speaker 1: and so they took a group of kids from our
- 0:41Speaker 1: neighborhood and we went to Madison Square Garden and we
- 0:44Speaker 1: were extras in the movie. We actually never even made
- 0:46Speaker 1: the final cut, but it was pretty dope experience to
- 0:48Speaker 1: be on a movie set. So I was always hanging
- 0:51Speaker 1: around with older kids my whole life. So everybody knew
- 0:55Speaker 1: me because I was a different school, but I didn't
- 0:57Speaker 1: know him because he was new to the neighborhood. So
- 1:00Speaker 1: we were all there, and I was always kind of
- 1:02Speaker 1: like introverted, so I just stated to myself. So everybody
- 1:04Speaker 1: was talking to me, and he came over and he
- 1:05Speaker 1: was just like was talking to me, like he already
- 1:07Speaker 1: knew who I was, And I'm like, who is this?
- 1:09Speaker 1: Why is he talking to me? Like so that's the
- 1:11Speaker 1: first time that we met on this set of a movie.
- 1:15Speaker 1: I was like twelve, he was probably like fourteen, and yeah,
- 1:18Speaker 1: we just been friends ever since. You've been rocking ever since? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:22Speaker 1: what was like for me because like, well, this is
- 1:24Speaker 1: a random curve because you guys were a natty. I
- 1:29Speaker 1: do have a random when I watched these basketball movies
- 1:32Speaker 1: that get filmed and there's like real NBA players in them,
- 1:35Speaker 1: and like people in the crowd. I always wonder if
- 1:37Speaker 1: they go in and they like pause a game. Oh
- 1:39Speaker 1: yet and they're like, all right, guys, this is for
- 1:42Speaker 1: a movie or do they like do a whole fake game.
- 1:45Speaker 1: It's a whole So, like what happened was they took
- 1:47Speaker 1: us to the garden and they let us go on
- 1:49Speaker 1: the court, and like, if we made a shot, there
- 1:51Speaker 1: was people in the crowd they would chair, but it
- 1:53Speaker 1: would be cheering for us, and so then obviously they
- 1:54Speaker 1: would cut in between live footas of real games, but
- 1:57Speaker 1: the audience reaction would be actually us. That was the
- 2:00Speaker 1: first time we actually got paid for anything or any
- 2:03Speaker 1: of the Knicks actually there. So what's so funny is
- 2:05Speaker 1: that they weren't in the movie, but we were in
- 2:07Speaker 1: the garden. So they had a game that day. So
- 2:09Speaker 1: we were seeing as we were like wrapping up the shoot,
- 2:13Speaker 1: we saw some of the Knicks come in. What's the
- 2:15Speaker 1: era here? It's just like Charlie word, like, this is
- 2:17Speaker 1: Charlie rich Child Davis. I saw him come off and
- 2:22Speaker 1: they will if I get the day correct. They were
- 2:24Speaker 1: playing the Pistons. Wow. So it was like Green Hills
- 2:27Speaker 1: coming to the garden and so we know what's so
- 2:28Speaker 1: crazy is that I forget this. Hubert Davis walks in
- 2:31Speaker 1: right and it's a group of us and we was
- 2:34Speaker 1: like little kids, like twelve thirteen years old. So we
- 2:37Speaker 1: seen Hubert David like you, weert what's up man, because
- 2:39Speaker 1: like can we get your autograph? And he just looked
- 2:42Speaker 1: and just kept and kept walking. And he's not the
- 2:44Speaker 1: guy I think we might watch. That's why Jordan will
- 2:47Speaker 1: be killing you or something. That's why that's why Menchell
- 2:51Speaker 1: isn't making your jersey. But I just it's just crazy
- 2:56Speaker 1: because it's like, you know, twenty years later and I
- 2:58Speaker 1: still remember that. So it's you gotta be careful how
- 3:01Speaker 1: you treat people because you never know, right, And it's
- 3:04Speaker 1: like that's something that even now to this day, we
- 3:06Speaker 1: try to, you know, accommodate people the best thing that
- 3:09Speaker 1: we possibly can, and if we can't accommodate it, we'll
- 3:11Speaker 1: we'll try to, like let you know why we can't
- 3:12Speaker 1: do this. Then we got to catch a flight. We
- 3:14Speaker 1: got I never forget, like we was little kids and
- 3:16Speaker 1: we saw him and he was not interested in stopping
- 3:21Speaker 1: at all. As a kid, I had great experiences with
- 3:24Speaker 1: some NBA players, but there was two. One of them
- 3:28Speaker 1: it's okay because it was Charles Barkley. He was an
- 3:29Speaker 1: ass outside of a Cardinals game. But the other guy,
- 3:33Speaker 1: George McLeod's bum ass from the Suns. You remember George
- 3:38Speaker 1: McLoud like a fake three and D guy before three
- 3:41Speaker 1: and D was the thing. Fuck George McLeod, he was.
- 3:45Speaker 1: It's crazy because like you guys obviously now are you know,
- 3:48Speaker 1: I feel like when it comes to like financial literacy,
- 3:51Speaker 1: like I think of you guys in the same meaning
- 3:53Speaker 1: as I think of a guy like Gary Vee or
- 3:55Speaker 1: even more educational though obviously, like I feel like you
- 3:58Speaker 1: guys are giving out so much information and I've really
- 4:00Speaker 1: leveled up the last few years. Is it like you know,
- 4:04Speaker 1: you guys probably go out and get recognized, get stopped
- 4:06Speaker 1: all the time at this point, right, Yeah, yeah, pretty
- 4:08Speaker 1: pretty pretty often. Man. It's something you get adjusted to.
- 4:12Speaker 1: But it's not easy at first, right when you walk
- 4:14Speaker 1: around and we're from New York, so we just got
- 4:16Speaker 1: the New York state of mind, Like, you know, they
- 4:17Speaker 1: looking at me and they realize like, oh wait, they're
- 4:19Speaker 1: looking at me because of the things that we've done.
- 4:21Speaker 1: But it's cool, man, everything's been rooted in education. I'm
- 4:24Speaker 1: glad that you brought that up. You said, you know,
- 4:26Speaker 1: it's more educational because it started in the classroom for
- 4:28Speaker 1: us with teaching young kids about financial literacy, then obviously
- 4:31Speaker 1: him as a professional doing it for adults, and then realizing,
- 4:34Speaker 1: you know, there's really no age limit to this education.
- 4:36Speaker 1: We really need to give it to everybody. So it's
- 4:38Speaker 1: one of those things that you know, no age limit.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Outside of the content game, obviously, you guys are very
- 4:43Speaker 1: successful in creating great content with real substance. What before
- 4:49Speaker 1: you guys got into doing this podcast, what was like
- 4:53Speaker 1: your guys's main sources of income. I was I was
- 4:57Speaker 1: a teacher. So I was a middle school teacher. I
- 4:59Speaker 1: taught health and PHYSICID the guy, the pe guy. I
- 5:03Speaker 1: was a peg the you know, the number one place
- 5:04Speaker 1: that kids love to go. So I had a great
- 5:08Speaker 1: man only until I got into the classroom, like, Yo,
- 5:09Speaker 1: what am I doing here? But it helped me. Man
- 5:11Speaker 1: helped me with with with structure, it helped me with
- 5:13Speaker 1: lesson planning, and it also helped me see what was
- 5:16Speaker 1: being taught to kids. And as I saw like my
- 5:18Speaker 1: classroom teachers, I'm just like, yo, what are we teaching
- 5:21Speaker 1: these kids? Like they're not going to use any of this.
- 5:23Speaker 1: And that was kind of the thing that's for me, Like, Yo,
- 5:25Speaker 1: there's an opportunity to teach kids things that are going
- 5:27Speaker 1: to be acquable in the future, financial literacy being one
- 5:30Speaker 1: of them. And so it kind of became the thing
- 5:32Speaker 1: was like, Yo, if I'm gonna get paid for this,
- 5:33Speaker 1: I'd rather be a service than a disservice. And so
- 5:36Speaker 1: we had an opportunity in the summer to create a
- 5:38Speaker 1: program and during the program, we're going to pay the
- 5:40Speaker 1: kids based on how they performed that their internships. And
- 5:43Speaker 1: you know, it was five hundred dollars, which is a
- 5:44Speaker 1: lot for a fourteen year old. And it was like, Yo,
- 5:45Speaker 1: if we don't teach them the value of money and
- 5:47Speaker 1: the things you can do with it and how I
- 5:49Speaker 1: could be used as a tool, it's going to be
- 5:52Speaker 1: the same cycle. And so I was like, Yo, if
- 5:53Speaker 1: we give them information now, let's see what they'll be
- 5:55Speaker 1: got in the future. And so education, and like I said,
- 5:58Speaker 1: has always been the root room for me. And it
- 6:00Speaker 1: cuts through what about you. I was a financial advisa,
- 6:03Speaker 1: so you were kind of helping the same type of
- 6:05Speaker 1: thing what I was doing now what I am doing now.
- 6:08Speaker 1: So yeah, helping people with their finances, investing, insurance, retirement planning.
- 6:13Speaker 1: And that's kind of how I had the idea to
- 6:15Speaker 1: go on social media because I saw that there was
- 6:18Speaker 1: a need for it. I saw the gap. I saw
- 6:20Speaker 1: how little people knew about finances. Even very educated people, doctors, lawyers,
- 6:25Speaker 1: they didn't know about the basics when it comes to investing.
- 6:27Speaker 1: So it's like, all right, vast majority of people in
- 6:30Speaker 1: this world need the information. And social media was and
- 6:35Speaker 1: is the I think the best way to reach the masses,
- 6:40Speaker 1: and that was the idea was, like, all right, let's
- 6:43Speaker 1: really double down on social media and use this as
- 6:46Speaker 1: a platform to you know, spread the message. Yeah. I mean,
- 6:50Speaker 1: even me as like a semi successful guy up until
- 6:55Speaker 1: maybe like four or five years ago when I really
- 6:57Speaker 1: started watching y'all. Shit, Like, I feel like I learned
- 6:58Speaker 1: how to like really leverage my credit and leverage credit
- 7:01Speaker 1: cards in your favor through you guys, like a lot
- 7:03Speaker 1: of shit I was not doing, you know what I
- 7:06Speaker 1: mean Like that, I'm like, oh shit, there's like and
- 7:09Speaker 1: like I know that there's some states. I think there
- 7:12Speaker 1: was a state that might have been Florida. I don't
- 7:14Speaker 1: want to give Rotten DeSantis too much credit, but I
- 7:17Speaker 1: think Florida might be introducing financial literacy as a Florida
- 7:23Speaker 1: New Jersey. It's like twenty something states now that have
- 7:28Speaker 1: mandated financial literacy. Is still not in New York where
- 7:31Speaker 1: we're from. It so not in the majority of states,
- 7:33Speaker 1: but there are more and more states that's looking to
- 7:36Speaker 1: implement that. Yeah, for you guys, you know, we're kind
- 7:40Speaker 1: of in a weird place in terms of the economy
- 7:44Speaker 1: because like we just got out of this, like, you know,
- 7:47Speaker 1: this thing that didn't make sense and that was COVID
- 7:49Speaker 1: And somehow during the pandemic everything shot through the roof
- 7:54Speaker 1: The real estate shit was insane, like this isn't real.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I kept telling everybody, guys, know, way, this is real.
- 8:01Speaker 1: And I bought a house. Yeah, I took advantage of
- 8:03Speaker 1: that interest rate. And I don't plan on selling it
- 8:05Speaker 1: for a very long time, so you know, I made
- 8:07Speaker 1: that decision kind of knowing that, you know, I might
- 8:10Speaker 1: lose some equity, but it'll be all right in the
- 8:12Speaker 1: long run. But what do you like, Like the real
- 8:15Speaker 1: estate market's kind of crazy right now. A lot of
- 8:17Speaker 1: places are finally kind of correcting. Like what did you
- 8:21Speaker 1: guys take away from the pandemic because there was a
- 8:23Speaker 1: lot of hard assets that shot through the roofs that
- 8:26Speaker 1: are correcting now. Like, did you guys learn anything personally
- 8:30Speaker 1: about any because you guys, yeah, we look at you
- 8:33Speaker 1: as like, you know, but I feel like there was
- 8:34Speaker 1: a lot of wild shit going on from twenty twenty
- 8:38Speaker 1: to now, tons of it. Yeah. I think one of
- 8:41Speaker 1: the things we stood by was like there's always opportunities
- 8:43Speaker 1: and crisis, Like in a crisis and so two thousand
- 8:46Speaker 1: and eight deal was a crisis and it was like damn,
- 8:49Speaker 1: we didn't have the capital to take advantage of it.
- 8:51Speaker 1: But we were in prime position at this point to say,
- 8:54Speaker 1: all right, the market is pulled back. You know, there's
- 8:56Speaker 1: an opportunity to invest in things. You said one of
- 8:59Speaker 1: the good things was real estate, right, Like interest rates
- 9:01Speaker 1: were at two and a quarter, and it was like, wait,
- 9:03Speaker 1: this is opportunity to refinance. So this is an opportunity
- 9:05Speaker 1: to use a helot these things where we were educated on.
- 9:08Speaker 1: So it was like, all right, we're in promposition to
- 9:10Speaker 1: take advantage of it, but not only us. It was like, yo,
- 9:12Speaker 1: what if our community understood that they could use it
- 9:14Speaker 1: to their advantage. And so during that time, we created
- 9:18Speaker 1: you know, our show market Mondays, which is about stock investing,
- 9:21Speaker 1: and it took off because people would listening to it
- 9:23Speaker 1: and they would getting the information and they were actually
- 9:25Speaker 1: applying it. You guess we're doing that like live on Zoom, Yeah,
- 9:28Speaker 1: live every Monday. And it was like wow, people were
- 9:30Speaker 1: actually seeing positive returns and it was like, oh, this
- 9:34Speaker 1: is incredible. And there's one thing like when you give
- 9:36Speaker 1: people information, it's one thing, right, but when you give
- 9:38Speaker 1: them information and it puts money in their pocket. It
- 9:40Speaker 1: becomes totally different. It's like a totally different relationship. Now,
- 9:43Speaker 1: it's like, wait, I have to come back. In fact,
- 9:45Speaker 1: when I come back, I got to tell my friends
- 9:47Speaker 1: about it because this is legit. And so we was
- 9:49Speaker 1: always rooted in the education of it, but when people
- 9:52Speaker 1: started applying it was like, all right, it took it
- 9:53Speaker 1: to a different level. Yeah. The helock thing something I
- 9:56Speaker 1: just recently learned about too, and break it. What that is,
- 10:00Speaker 1: it's obviously is that that's that's a line of credit. Yeah,
- 10:03Speaker 1: take against your house, right, Yeah, a home equity line
- 10:05Speaker 1: of credit. And it's crazy because people was using that
- 10:07Speaker 1: to their advantages. Was like, like you said, you had
- 10:09Speaker 1: equity in your home, you could take it out, you
- 10:11Speaker 1: can use it for repairs, you can use it. A
- 10:13Speaker 1: lot of people are trying to use it for other
- 10:15Speaker 1: investments or you could just can't take it out without
- 10:17Speaker 1: touching it, and then it's there if you need it,
- 10:19Speaker 1: right exactly. And then what happened when we started getting
- 10:22Speaker 1: educated around it, people started taking advantage of it. Banks
- 10:25Speaker 1: started realizing and they were like, all right, well, we're
- 10:27Speaker 1: going to stop moor from this product crazy, right, because
- 10:30Speaker 1: it was like, oh, this is an opportunity that people
- 10:31Speaker 1: could use to their advantage. And so it's one of
- 10:34Speaker 1: those things like when you have the education and the
- 10:38Speaker 1: timing of situations happened, you got to be prepared for it.
- 10:41Speaker 1: You got to be ready to take action, because again,
- 10:43Speaker 1: if you don't, they can pull the plug and say,
- 10:45Speaker 1: all right, well it was a great opportunity, but you're
- 10:47Speaker 1: going to miss this one. Do you guys feel like
- 10:49Speaker 1: this like kind of time that we're getting into with
- 10:52Speaker 1: a lot of the you know, real estate kind of correcting.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Obviously the interest rates are higher, But do you feel
- 10:57Speaker 1: like it's it's it's soon. I mean, it's d u
- 11:00Speaker 1: getting to be a not a not a seller's market,
- 11:03Speaker 1: a buyer's market. You would think that that's coming soon.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Do you feel like there's going to be some dope
- 11:07Speaker 1: opportunities to scoop real estate for a lot cheaper than
- 11:11Speaker 1: I mean, obviously than a year and a half ago.
- 11:13Speaker 1: You know, shit was crazy. There's always opportunities, it's just
- 11:17Speaker 1: a it depends geographically where you're at, right, So the
- 11:21Speaker 1: LA market is a lot different from Milwaukee, where like
- 11:25Speaker 1: right now you could probably buy a home in Milwaukee
- 11:28Speaker 1: for thirty thousand dollars. Forty thousand dollars, you buy a
- 11:30Speaker 1: building for fifty thousand dollars right where you can't even
- 11:34Speaker 1: buy a closet for fifty thousand dollars in La. Right,
- 11:37Speaker 1: So there's always opportunities. It's just a matter of a
- 11:41Speaker 1: knowing where the opportunities are. But b is there going
- 11:46Speaker 1: to be a massive correction? I don't think it'll be
- 11:49Speaker 1: a massive correction, right, It'll probably be some pullbacks in
- 11:53Speaker 1: areas like Miami or you know, certain parts in New York,
- 11:57Speaker 1: like where the real estate went up a lot. Yeah,
- 11:59Speaker 1: I saw like Phoenix, Austin, like a lot of those
- 12:03Speaker 1: hot markets where things just got really crazy. I feel
- 12:07Speaker 1: like they're gonna probably. I mean, it's the number one
- 12:09Speaker 1: rule of investing, no matter whether it's doge coin, whether
- 12:12Speaker 1: it's Tesla's stock, whether it's Miami real estate, what goes
- 12:16Speaker 1: up must come down for sure. That's just like the
- 12:19Speaker 1: most basic way to think about anything in life. And
- 12:21Speaker 1: when things start to not make sense, eventually it's going
- 12:23Speaker 1: to start to cool off very soon. So like when
- 12:25Speaker 1: you hear Miami people paying over five hundred thousand dollars
- 12:28Speaker 1: over asking and a quarter million dollars over asking and
- 12:32Speaker 1: buying things in cash. Like they just got so so
- 12:35Speaker 1: crazy the last couple of years. Yeah, it has to
- 12:38Speaker 1: pull back eventually because it's just not sustainable. That's what
- 12:40Speaker 1: happened in Phoenix, Like everybody sold their houses here because
- 12:43Speaker 1: shit was at all time high and they didn't care
- 12:45Speaker 1: go into a city like Phoenix that they're moving to
- 12:48Speaker 1: and the houses are so much cheaper, they're like, oh,
- 12:50Speaker 1: i'll pay one hundred over that's still like I'm still
- 12:53Speaker 1: getting a mini mansion from where I was just coming from,
- 12:55Speaker 1: and I still have pocketing a few hundred thousand dollars.
- 12:57Speaker 1: So yeah, we'll see man on the crypto front, Like,
- 13:01Speaker 1: how do y'all feel about crypto now? Because obviously a
- 13:03Speaker 1: lot of shit has crashed. I've lost some money, for sure,
- 13:08Speaker 1: not as much, but I lost money in twenty seventeen
- 13:12Speaker 1: pretty bad because this fucking guy had convinced me to
- 13:14Speaker 1: buyo this ripple. Yeah whatever, and you didn't sell it
- 13:19Speaker 1: when you had all that money anyway, But how do
- 13:21Speaker 1: you guys feel about like kind of like obviously because
- 13:24Speaker 1: I kind of look at crypto as like similar to
- 13:26Speaker 1: like the dot com dot com bubble that happened. You know,
- 13:30Speaker 1: there was a lot of low hanging fruit scam shit
- 13:33Speaker 1: going on. But I do feel like like the technology
- 13:35Speaker 1: of blockchain is something that will probably be around and be,
- 13:39Speaker 1: you know, a utility for a long time to come.
- 13:42Speaker 1: But what do you how do y'all feel about it?
- 13:45Speaker 1: I think crypto is here. The idea of blockchain technology
- 13:49Speaker 1: is very real, it has very real use cases, and
- 13:51Speaker 1: it's actually being used right now. The functionality and the
- 13:56Speaker 1: purpose of crypto still has to kind of be worked out.
- 13:59Speaker 1: I feel like it's not something that is really necessary
- 14:04Speaker 1: right now. Like they still have to kind of figure
- 14:06Speaker 1: out because even if you look at bitcoin, which is
- 14:07Speaker 1: the most popular cryptocurrency, most people are looking at that
- 14:10Speaker 1: as a store of value. They're not looking at it.
- 14:12Speaker 1: The word currency is a little misleading because it's not
- 14:15Speaker 1: being used as currency. It's being hot. They're parking their money. Yeah,
- 14:20Speaker 1: it's more of an investment or you're just hoarding it
- 14:22Speaker 1: right hoping that it goes up in value. Nobody's going
- 14:24Speaker 1: to the store and pulling out their bitcoin card and
- 14:26Speaker 1: shopping at time. Yeah, and it's it's in order for
- 14:29Speaker 1: currency to be used, it has to be some level
- 14:31Speaker 1: of stability, like I can't get my head cut today
- 14:34Speaker 1: for twenty dollars and then go back tomorrow and it
- 14:36Speaker 1: is fifty dollars, and then the next week is ten dollars.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Like that makes sense, And that's how volatile cryptocurrency is.
- 14:43Speaker 1: So right now we're in a winter for crypto. But
- 14:47Speaker 1: historically crypto has always had these cycles where it's going
- 14:51Speaker 1: up and then it's going down, then it's going up,
- 14:53Speaker 1: and it's going down. So if history repeats itself, it
- 14:57Speaker 1: will go up again. But I think it's important to
- 15:00Speaker 1: to really, you know, if you're going to invest in cryptocurrency,
- 15:03Speaker 1: use coins that have a strong chance of surviving. So
- 15:09Speaker 1: ethereum big coin you said, XRP, different things of that nature,
- 15:14Speaker 1: where it's like a lot of these meme coins like
- 15:16Speaker 1: the doge coin and a bunch of these other coins.
- 15:19Speaker 1: It was just like a get rich quick scheme. It
- 15:21Speaker 1: wasn't really based around any fundamentals, it wasn't based around
- 15:24Speaker 1: any use case. It was just based around all right,
- 15:26Speaker 1: let's just pump this coin and everybody had a coin.
- 15:29Speaker 1: My friend who's sitting to the right of me, yeah,
- 15:33Speaker 1: he thought it was a great idea to invest in
- 15:35Speaker 1: the coin that Willy D from the Ghetto Boys with
- 15:37Speaker 1: spearheading Willie D Coin, And I was like, and I
- 15:44Speaker 1: was like, I was like, I was like, Willie d
- 15:49Speaker 1: D a legend. Yeah, for sure, shout out to us. Yeah,
- 15:54Speaker 1: well you lost all your money. Yeah, I think. I mean,
- 15:57Speaker 1: you said it best. I think when you compared it
- 15:59Speaker 1: to the dot com it makes it's a good analogy. Yeah, right,
- 16:02Speaker 1: But the key is right when the dot com bubble started,
- 16:05Speaker 1: you had AOLS and you had excite dot coms, right,
- 16:07Speaker 1: but you also had Yahoo and you had Amazon. It's
- 16:09Speaker 1: about figuring out which one is going to have the
- 16:11Speaker 1: long term sustainability. And as we get further inside the
- 16:14Speaker 1: space of cryptocurrency, and they'll be better and more improved. Coins.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Obviously spoke about the two most prevalent ones. But you
- 16:20Speaker 1: know Google comes to a two thousand and six or
- 16:23Speaker 1: YouTube comes in two thousand and six, right, So there's
- 16:25Speaker 1: an evolution that will happen. It'll become more of a
- 16:28Speaker 1: use case scenario and it'll be more improved. But it's
- 16:30Speaker 1: not going anywhere. Right. We've seen this in twenty twelve.
- 16:33Speaker 1: You mentioned twenty seventeen, we felt that pain too. Right,
- 16:36Speaker 1: we had money in the space and didn't take it out.
- 16:38Speaker 1: I should have sold them. But it's one of those
- 16:41Speaker 1: things if we're looking at it as a short term
- 16:43Speaker 1: investment or a long term investment, and so we tend
- 16:46Speaker 1: to look at things in the long term. Right, So
- 16:48Speaker 1: it's a space that you will be in and we're
- 16:50Speaker 1: going to stay in. Right for you, guys, I always
- 16:53Speaker 1: hear like people say, like, you want to have a
- 16:56Speaker 1: diverse portfolio of investments. Right, there's real estate, there's the
- 17:00Speaker 1: stock market, there's hard assets. Like what would be your
- 17:03Speaker 1: guys's advice in terms of like how that should be
- 17:05Speaker 1: broken up? Yeah, yeah, you definitely want to diversify. I mean,
- 17:09Speaker 1: as far as real estate, at the very least, you
- 17:11Speaker 1: should try to own where you live. That's a goal
- 17:15Speaker 1: that you can at least try to achieve it. And
- 17:17Speaker 1: some people, some people who are like really rich, say
- 17:19Speaker 1: the opposite. They like have investment properties, but they rent where. Yeah. Well,
- 17:24Speaker 1: another thing is that for the average person, you can
- 17:27Speaker 1: own a multi family home. Right. So it's like, because
- 17:31Speaker 1: that idea is that your home isn't really an investment,
- 17:33Speaker 1: and if you look at it from that standpoint where
- 17:36Speaker 1: it's not actually bringing you cash flow, then that's true.
- 17:39Speaker 1: But if you have a multi family home, and I
- 17:41Speaker 1: don't know if there's a lot of multi families in California,
- 17:43Speaker 1: but I know there are actually, Yeah, so if you
- 17:46Speaker 1: have a multifamily, now that is an investment that is
- 17:50Speaker 1: bringing you cash flow and potentially can be you know,
- 17:54Speaker 1: you could be making money on that as opposed to
- 17:56Speaker 1: just shuffling money out every single month just to pay
- 17:59Speaker 1: the mortgage. So that's a good way to even start
- 18:02Speaker 1: just your investment portfolio. Right. Like, as far as for
- 18:05Speaker 1: the average person, if you just want to start investing
- 18:06Speaker 1: in real estate, get a multi family home as your
- 18:09Speaker 1: first investment. Live there. Now you kill two birds, live
- 18:13Speaker 1: in one, right and rent out the other two units. Right,
- 18:16Speaker 1: So now, like I said, you kill two birds with
- 18:17Speaker 1: one stone. Or if you're a business owner, now you
- 18:20Speaker 1: can live upstairs and your business could be downstairs, and
- 18:23Speaker 1: then you can rent the other place, you know, if
- 18:25Speaker 1: there's another unit as well. So that's important. And investing
- 18:31Speaker 1: in the stock market is important as well. Right, you
- 18:33Speaker 1: want to have some money that's going into stocks long term,
- 18:36Speaker 1: not necessarily like day trading or taking risky bets, but
- 18:41Speaker 1: you know, we talk about index funds and ETF stuff
- 18:44Speaker 1: like that, and then you know it's important to say
- 18:46Speaker 1: for your retirement as well. So if you have a job,
- 18:48Speaker 1: a lot of jobs, they offer four to one K plans.
- 18:50Speaker 1: If you're self employed, you can have an IRA. So
- 18:52Speaker 1: now you have, you know, three different things working for you.
- 18:54Speaker 1: You have your retirement, you have your regular stocks, you
- 18:57Speaker 1: have your real estate play right now, you're develop in
- 18:59Speaker 1: a portfolio. If you have kids, you might want to
- 19:00Speaker 1: do a college savings plan for them or UTMAH, which
- 19:04Speaker 1: is allowing you to put money into their investment account.
- 19:06Speaker 1: So now you can start to do some other things.
- 19:09Speaker 1: But those like the three three pillars, I think as
- 19:11Speaker 1: far as investing, it's concerned for the average person, like
- 19:13Speaker 1: real estate, investing in stocks, just regular brokerage, and then
- 19:18Speaker 1: retirement account. So like a retirement account, like there's so
- 19:22Speaker 1: many different ones, and this is something that I'm still like,
- 19:25Speaker 1: I mean, obviously had a four oh one K for
- 19:27Speaker 1: a long time. I just rolled into an IRA because
- 19:29Speaker 1: I don't work for anybody anymore. But there's like the
- 19:33Speaker 1: roth IRA, right, like like can you guys kind of
- 19:35Speaker 1: give me like a breakdown of the differences between those accounts,
- 19:38Speaker 1: some pay do some pay dividends or so it depends
- 19:41Speaker 1: on how you invest it. So like a IRA is
- 19:44Speaker 1: an individual retirement account, and you could put it sixty
- 19:47Speaker 1: down I think sixty five. They might have raised it
- 19:48Speaker 1: to like sixty five hundred to put this year. But
- 19:50Speaker 1: you put money in and it lowers your taxable income.
- 19:52Speaker 1: So if you put five thousand dollars into an IRA,
- 19:55Speaker 1: you make one hundred thousand dollars. Now you only pay
- 19:57Speaker 1: taxes on ninety five thousand. So the money grows and
- 19:59Speaker 1: you can invest the money in a variety of different ways.
- 20:01Speaker 1: So you can invest the money in the SMP, you
- 20:03Speaker 1: can invest the money in the apple stock. You can
- 20:06Speaker 1: invest the money in you know, dividend paying companies and
- 20:09Speaker 1: have the dividends go back into the investment account. So
- 20:12Speaker 1: it's really up to you as far as how you
- 20:13Speaker 1: choose to invest it or who you're working with invests
- 20:15Speaker 1: it for you. But the main benefit is a tax benefit.
- 20:19Speaker 1: That's the difference between just investing it just regular and
- 20:22Speaker 1: investing it in the IRA is that you get a
- 20:23Speaker 1: tax benefit. Then there was a rough IRA, which is
- 20:26Speaker 1: a retirement vehicle as well, but you don't get a
- 20:28Speaker 1: tax benefit from it up front. So if you make
- 20:31Speaker 1: a hundred thousand, you put five thousand into the row,
- 20:33Speaker 1: if you're still taxed on one hundred thousand, But when
- 20:37Speaker 1: you take the money out in retirement is tax free.
- 20:39Speaker 1: So like when you take money out of a retirement
- 20:41Speaker 1: account of four to one k or IRA, you get tax.
- 20:45Speaker 1: You pay state and federal tax. So if you have
- 20:47Speaker 1: a million dollars, right, and let's say you take out
- 20:49Speaker 1: the whole amount at one time when you're seventy years old,
- 20:53Speaker 1: now you know you pay federal tax, but that'll put
- 20:55Speaker 1: you in the highest federal tax bracket because it's treated
- 20:57Speaker 1: like ordinary income. And then depending on what state, like
- 21:00Speaker 1: live in California, is the highest state tax thirteen point Well,
- 21:03Speaker 1: you could you could be paying up to like fifty
- 21:04Speaker 1: percent of the money in taxes. So if you take
- 21:06Speaker 1: out a million, you might net a five hundred thousand. Crazy.
- 21:09Speaker 1: So but if you have a row and you take
- 21:11Speaker 1: out a million, you don't pay any taxes, so you
- 21:13Speaker 1: get one million dollars. So the difference between a WROTH
- 21:17Speaker 1: and a regular IRA is the tax benefits come. One
- 21:21Speaker 1: is at the beginning, one is at the end. Correct. Yeah,
- 21:24Speaker 1: So if you're like making decent money, you're kind of
- 21:28Speaker 1: like fucking up if you're not doing a little bit
- 21:31Speaker 1: of both, would that be fair? Especially within his income
- 21:34Speaker 1: limits too. So so it gets a little tricky because
- 21:36Speaker 1: then it's like, if you make too much money, then well,
- 21:39Speaker 1: if you're if you're if you're self employed, you can
- 21:41Speaker 1: you can put money into an ira, no matter how
- 21:43Speaker 1: much money you make. But if you have a job
- 21:45Speaker 1: and you make too much money, then this income limits debt,
- 21:49Speaker 1: you can't put money into an ira. So now that's
- 21:51Speaker 1: why the four one k is beneficial because you could
- 21:53Speaker 1: put a lot more money into a four one K
- 21:55Speaker 1: as opposed you could put like three times more money
- 21:57Speaker 1: into a four and one k then you could put
- 21:59Speaker 1: into an ira. Yeah, and then if you're self employed,
- 22:03Speaker 1: you can have what's called the sep ira and you
- 22:05Speaker 1: can put up like sixty thousand dollars a year into
- 22:08Speaker 1: accept ira. What's the tax tax situation with that? It's
- 22:11Speaker 1: the same you get do you get the tax benefits
- 22:14Speaker 1: on the front of the on the front on the front. Yeah,
- 22:15Speaker 1: it's like a regular ira, but you just put way
- 22:17Speaker 1: more money in. So if you have a sep ira,
- 22:20Speaker 1: ri r Ira and Let's say I make three hundred
- 22:23Speaker 1: thousand dollars and I put fifty in. I'm taxed on fifty.
- 22:26Speaker 1: It's a percentage of it's twenty percent of your income
- 22:32Speaker 1: the lesser of twenty percent or like sixty thousand dollars.
- 22:36Speaker 1: And don't quote me on that, but I think that
- 22:37Speaker 1: that's that's around what it is. So it's like a
- 22:42Speaker 1: calculator to see like which one which one is less?
- 22:45Speaker 1: Is less? Yeah, but it allows you to put a
- 22:48Speaker 1: lot more money. Then it's like, you know, you have
- 22:50Speaker 1: the fine benefit plan, you have pension plans. So these
- 22:52Speaker 1: are all ways that you know. And this is why
- 22:55Speaker 1: education is important, right, because it's like the average person
- 22:57Speaker 1: is not. They don't care about this or anything, right,
- 23:00Speaker 1: It's like who cares? But if you're saving three hundred
- 23:04Speaker 1: thousand dollars a year or you're saving one hundred thousand
- 23:06Speaker 1: dollars a year, you start to care, right, you know,
- 23:08Speaker 1: you start to care. It's like, damn, that's a lot
- 23:10Speaker 1: of money. It's like this this equals and millions and
- 23:12Speaker 1: millions of dollars. And now you see why the rich
- 23:15Speaker 1: get richer, right, because they're implementing these strategies at a
- 23:18Speaker 1: very high level. So now they're figuring out how to
- 23:21Speaker 1: save millions of dollars, how to pay no taxes, how
- 23:24Speaker 1: to have real estate, and how to actually get money
- 23:27Speaker 1: back from the government because of you know, different incentives
- 23:30Speaker 1: and you're talking about opportunity zones and different things of
- 23:33Speaker 1: that nature. Like there's so many things that's put in
- 23:35Speaker 1: place for the educated and the wealthy to take advantage of,
- 23:40Speaker 1: and then the middle class and then the poor are
- 23:43Speaker 1: just uneducated and they're not financially in a position to
- 23:46Speaker 1: do anything, so they never really even think about it. Yeah,
- 23:50Speaker 1: so's it's almost like if you're self employed, right and
- 23:54Speaker 1: you're doing like let's say you're own a business or
- 23:56Speaker 1: a laundry mat or whatever you're doing, right, there's so
- 24:00Speaker 1: like we always hear how like Donald Trump don't pay
- 24:02Speaker 1: taxes or Google doesn't pay taxes, and there's so many
- 24:06Speaker 1: things you can do instead of writing a check to
- 24:09Speaker 1: the irs. That's the goal, right, you know, I just
- 24:13Speaker 1: did this like historically my whole life, Like no, I drive,
- 24:16Speaker 1: like shit, I'm a terrible driver. I hate car payments.
- 24:21Speaker 1: You could ask this guy. I've been kind of like
- 24:23Speaker 1: paid off Toyota my whole life and then I crash
- 24:27Speaker 1: and I get another paid off car. But like, I
- 24:29Speaker 1: had like a fucking crazy tax bill last year, and
- 24:31Speaker 1: my CPA was like, and this was like end in November,
- 24:36Speaker 1: and she was like, hey, go find a fucking one
- 24:39Speaker 1: hundred thousand dollars car. So I went and buy a car.
- 24:43Speaker 1: And I don't feel as bad about it now, you know,
- 24:45Speaker 1: because I was gonna either pay the irs or drive
- 24:49Speaker 1: a car. You know. Yeah the truck car. It was
- 24:52Speaker 1: a truck six pounds there we go, yeah, yeah, I mean,
- 24:56Speaker 1: but this is the education around. We hear these things
- 24:57Speaker 1: and it's like, like you just said, you spoke about
- 24:59Speaker 1: the the royal ira for one came even like he said,
- 25:02Speaker 1: opportunity zones. We just hear these terms and that's kind
- 25:04Speaker 1: of like, uh, we never know what that means, right,
- 25:07Speaker 1: And then you have to do the education behind and
- 25:09Speaker 1: it's like, oh, right, well, opportunity zones, how do we
- 25:11Speaker 1: get that? Well, you have to have capital gains? Well,
- 25:13Speaker 1: how many of us have capital gains that are over
- 25:15Speaker 1: a million dollars? Right? And then you realize what we
- 25:18Speaker 1: can't even participate. There's first education, But then you realize, wait,
- 25:21Speaker 1: there's a business structure that we're not even a part
- 25:23Speaker 1: of yet to even be considered to be in this.
- 25:25Speaker 1: So the education part is the most important. You said,
- 25:28Speaker 1: what are the things we should invest in? Started investing
- 25:30Speaker 1: in your education first, right, and then start building those
- 25:34Speaker 1: things that we were just talking about. Me And thanks
- 25:36Speaker 1: to you guys. Like I mean, I know you guys monetize,
- 25:39Speaker 1: like what you do. Like I'm sure you guys have
- 25:41Speaker 1: courses and ship, but like you guys are giving away
- 25:43Speaker 1: all the game for free. That's why I love Russ.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Russ is a rapper who you know. I love Russ
- 25:49Speaker 1: because Russ is like he's people don't like him, but
- 25:53Speaker 1: he's really giving y'all the fucking crash course of free game,
- 25:57Speaker 1: like selfless free game and Russell, you know what I mean,
- 26:00Speaker 1: Like these guys like and you guys have the rustle on,
- 26:03Speaker 1: but like these guys are like just giving away game
- 26:05Speaker 1: and you guys are giving away game, you know what
- 26:07Speaker 1: I mean. I think it's dope because I see some guys. Man,
- 26:10Speaker 1: there was this one dude, ty Lopez's, Oh my god's right,
- 26:18Speaker 1: just the cringiest dude on the internet man, And like
- 26:22Speaker 1: he would be doing these videos that pop up on
- 26:24Speaker 1: my fucking ship would be like in front of his
- 26:26Speaker 1: Lamborghini do you want this sign up? And like it's
- 26:30Speaker 1: just dope that. I mean, you and you guys aren't
- 26:32Speaker 1: aren't the same, you guys are. I look at you
- 26:35Speaker 1: as an educational platform. I look at guys like that
- 26:37Speaker 1: or Gary Vee is like motivational. You know, what do
- 26:39Speaker 1: you guys think of I saw you guys speak on
- 26:42Speaker 1: this a little. I didn't watch your guys' video on it,
- 26:44Speaker 1: but the Grand cardoone situation. Obviously, Grant's successful. His book
- 26:50Speaker 1: is cool. But then once I started to kind of
- 26:52Speaker 1: see him on YouTube, I was like, oh, this guy's
- 26:54Speaker 1: kind of a cocksucker Loki respectfully, like very success guy.
- 27:00Speaker 1: You know, I get it, his book is cool. If
- 27:03Speaker 1: like if I if I read his book and didn't
- 27:05Speaker 1: hear how he talked, you know what I mean? Or like,
- 27:07Speaker 1: you know, I'm like, oh, this guy's like, you know,
- 27:09Speaker 1: he's kind of a douche back, but you know, successful.
- 27:12Speaker 1: But there's a lot being made of some of the
- 27:15Speaker 1: older clips of him talking about how he talks to
- 27:19Speaker 1: the urban community. When you guys see a guy like
- 27:22Speaker 1: that as somebody who's in that community, who's helping educate
- 27:26Speaker 1: that community from a genuine place? You know, how do
- 27:29Speaker 1: you guys feel about that? And I'm sure you guys
- 27:32Speaker 1: already talked about it because I saw you. I feel
- 27:35Speaker 1: like it's a marketing strategy, right, So it's like my
- 27:37Speaker 1: whole thing is, like, you don't have to be black
- 27:40Speaker 1: to be part of hip hop culture. Like you could
- 27:42Speaker 1: be Asian, you could be white, you could be Latino
- 27:45Speaker 1: like you know, but if you're not a part of
- 27:48Speaker 1: hip hop culture, I don't understand the fascination with trying
- 27:53Speaker 1: to go over and above to try to identify with
- 27:56Speaker 1: something that you really didn't grow up and you're not
- 27:58Speaker 1: really passionate about. Like I don't think he's listening to
- 28:02Speaker 1: Rick Ross's mixtapes, Like why are you hanging around Ross?
- 28:05Speaker 1: Like when we do it, like it's from a genuine place,
- 28:08Speaker 1: like before we did this, like we would debate rap
- 28:11Speaker 1: for hours, like we would debate basketball for hours, Like
- 28:13Speaker 1: this is just who we are, Like we can't appropriate
- 28:16Speaker 1: our culture. We are the culture, you know what I'm saying. So,
- 28:20Speaker 1: but I feel like him and a variety of other
- 28:22Speaker 1: people they use hip hop culture as a way to
- 28:27Speaker 1: gain notoriety, credibility in the space because everybody knows, like
- 28:33Speaker 1: you know, once hip hop stamp shoot like that means
- 28:36Speaker 1: a lot, right, And it's like some things are worth
- 28:39Speaker 1: more than money. So we don't have the economic power,
- 28:42Speaker 1: but we have the cultural capital. And the cultural capital
- 28:46Speaker 1: is extremely important and it's extremely valuable. So they see
- 28:50Speaker 1: that from a business standpoint, they're like, all right, well,
- 28:52Speaker 1: these rappers, they've been lit for years and they move.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Look what we did to fashion, for instance, right, So
- 29:00Speaker 1: it's like from Tommy, he'll figure it out. From Tommy,
- 29:04Speaker 1: he'll figure it to Balinciaga, to Gucci, Tonike, to anything anything,
- 29:09Speaker 1: any any fashion that's lit. It has to be standing
- 29:12Speaker 1: by the earth. And that's the thing. So let's take
- 29:14Speaker 1: a high end fact because we spoke with that, but
- 29:15Speaker 1: dance he was saying, like Gucci, like hip hop culture
- 29:18Speaker 1: probably makes up like five percent of the total pie
- 29:21Speaker 1: that makes Gucci. Right, that's a valid point, but it
- 29:25Speaker 1: makes up probably ninety five percent of the influence of
- 29:28Speaker 1: why of why other people are buying it, right, because
- 29:32Speaker 1: it's become so popular. So it's just like Crystal Christal
- 29:36Speaker 1: hip hop problem exactly. So even if hip hop wasn't
- 29:40Speaker 1: the number one source of revenue. It became the number
- 29:44Speaker 1: one source of influence, which made other people want to
- 29:47Speaker 1: buy it because it became so popular. So I think
- 29:50Speaker 1: people in business have adopted that same strategy where it's like,
- 29:52Speaker 1: all right, even if these aren't my number one consumers,
- 29:57Speaker 1: I'm not going to make a tremendous amount of money
- 29:59Speaker 1: with this community. I can gain a lot of notoriety
- 30:03Speaker 1: from this community, which would help me make money with
- 30:06Speaker 1: other communities. So I think that, you know, he's one
- 30:09Speaker 1: of these people that have adapted adopted that strategy, and
- 30:14Speaker 1: you know it's it's it's a business ploy so it's
- 30:17Speaker 1: it's up to us to see how we feel about it,
- 30:19Speaker 1: if we accept it or not. But I just feel
- 30:22Speaker 1: like it's not from a genuine place when you do
- 30:25Speaker 1: things like that. And like I said, it's not to
- 30:26Speaker 1: say that you can't hang out with rappers, it's not
- 30:28Speaker 1: to say you can't, you know, go to an NBA game,
- 30:30Speaker 1: But if you if your goal is to embrace culture,
- 30:36Speaker 1: then you looking at it like music is the only
- 30:38Speaker 1: part of the culture that's kind offensive because it's like,
- 30:41Speaker 1: all right, like you're saying, the only thing that we
- 30:45Speaker 1: bring to the table is entertainment. So if you really
- 30:48Speaker 1: are truly passionate about embracing our culture, then embrace all
- 30:53Speaker 1: aspects of the culture. Music is a part of it,
- 30:55Speaker 1: but so is social justice. So it's economics, right, so
- 30:59Speaker 1: is science. So it's a variety of other things. And
- 31:02Speaker 1: I never see these people hanging out with political activists.
- 31:06Speaker 1: I never seen them hanging out with you know, leaders
- 31:08Speaker 1: in business. I never see them hanging out with the
- 31:11Speaker 1: young tech entrepreneur that's that's in HBCU trying to get
- 31:16Speaker 1: a startup company done. I only see them hanging out
- 31:18Speaker 1: with rapids. So it becomes questionable as far as their motivation.
- 31:23Speaker 1: It goes to the part when he's saying like it's awareness, right,
- 31:26Speaker 1: Like our job is like, all right, let's make the
- 31:28Speaker 1: people aware of what's happening. If they're not, but they
- 31:31Speaker 1: choose to do with it, it's going to be on them, right.
- 31:32Speaker 1: There's still people that are going to that champion. But
- 31:35Speaker 1: it was not surprising. We seen, like you said, we've
- 31:37Speaker 1: seen us play plenty of times. But the problem was
- 31:39Speaker 1: for so long we couldn't quantify it. How do we
- 31:41Speaker 1: quantify the influence? Right? We can say that this is
- 31:43Speaker 1: the customer base because we can see a sales, but
- 31:45Speaker 1: how do you quantify justify the level of influence like
- 31:48Speaker 1: we know it? But from the business standpoint, it's like, well,
- 31:51Speaker 1: the numbers don't match that until you get a situation
- 31:53Speaker 1: like Kanye and Adita, right, and then you see cultural capital,
- 31:58Speaker 1: cultural influence removed both and let's see what happens to
- 32:01Speaker 1: the business. And that's what that happened. They're going through
- 32:03Speaker 1: right now. It's like, well, we just lost two billion dollars. Yeah,
- 32:06Speaker 1: let's bring it back to the table because we need
- 32:07Speaker 1: to sell this right, Can we come back? Can we
- 32:09Speaker 1: can we renegotiate how we're gonna again be cool or
- 32:12Speaker 1: a pair cool to the community that we know got
- 32:15Speaker 1: us to this level and have you say it's okay
- 32:18Speaker 1: to sell these things again? If not, what are we
- 32:20Speaker 1: going to do with this merchandise? How are we going
- 32:22Speaker 1: to move it? What's going to happen to our brand?
- 32:24Speaker 1: What's going to happen to the people that are existing
- 32:26Speaker 1: on our brand? If that guy says like, we're not
- 32:28Speaker 1: rocking with you, and his core audience says we're not
- 32:31Speaker 1: rocking with you anymore, which is our culture? Yeah, I
- 32:33Speaker 1: think Kanye is probably single handedly like the most influential.
- 32:39Speaker 1: I mean, I mean shit, I can't think anybody is
- 32:42Speaker 1: more influential in terms of culture and fashion. And like
- 32:44Speaker 1: you know, he's obviously said some things that are questionable
- 32:47Speaker 1: read true, but man, no, I mean he's the guy
- 32:50Speaker 1: right as your Sh'S it's up. But he sets the
- 32:52Speaker 1: standard now, right, Like Yo, there's the cultural capital, there's
- 32:55Speaker 1: a cultural influence together. And look what happens now we
- 32:58Speaker 1: can quantify it now that there's measurables to say, like
- 33:00Speaker 1: that happened because this was removed, and like it's crazy
- 33:03Speaker 1: because like when Yeezy first came out, everyone was like, man,
- 33:06Speaker 1: these are hobo clothes and the earth Tones and everybody's
- 33:10Speaker 1: everybody's wearing the ship. Let's talk about hip hop, guys.
- 33:15Speaker 1: I don't want to, I don't. I mean, give me
- 33:17Speaker 1: each one of your guys's top five favorite albums. Favorite albums,
- 33:21Speaker 1: not mcs because that's hip hop rap rap rap. For me,
- 33:27Speaker 1: my favorite album of all time, it was written Okay
- 33:30Speaker 1: but No Affirmative Action is one of my favorite songs ever.
- 33:34Speaker 1: It was written that changed my life, so it was
- 33:36Speaker 1: written I would go with that another album that changed
- 33:39Speaker 1: my life. Is the infamous by Ma Yes Yo Big.
- 33:43Speaker 1: I remember I met Big Noid in Tampa. I was
- 33:47Speaker 1: just like, bro give that's a classic verse. Oh my god.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Sometimes I wish I had three different faces. Shout out
- 33:56Speaker 1: Tonoid man, rest in peace to Prodigy. For sure, I
- 34:01Speaker 1: would speed it up to a little current times. Victory
- 34:04Speaker 1: Lap is definitely a favorite of mine. Yeah, I think
- 34:07Speaker 1: a very classic album and as aged gracefully gets better. Yeah, agree,
- 34:14Speaker 1: it's up there. I probably would go Life After Death, Biggie,
- 34:22Speaker 1: that's up there for me. And then another album that
- 34:29Speaker 1: changed my life was Volume two from jay Z. That's
- 34:32Speaker 1: probably my favorite jay Z album. That's an interesting favorite
- 34:35Speaker 1: jay Z album choice, Yeah, because for me, it's moments
- 34:38Speaker 1: in time, right. So it's like everybody's gonna say Illmatic
- 34:41Speaker 1: is the favorite NAS album, but Illmatic I appreciated Ellmatic.
- 34:44Speaker 1: I was ten years old, but when it was written
- 34:46Speaker 1: came out, I was twelve years old. You don't really
- 34:48Speaker 1: see that much. It's a big difference between being ten
- 34:51Speaker 1: and twelve, for sure. So when I was twelve and
- 34:53Speaker 1: it was like I was coming into becoming a man
- 34:55Speaker 1: and I can understand it and now it's real shit,
- 34:58Speaker 1: like you know, what I'm saying like coming to your man.
- 35:00Speaker 1: You know you're going to I'm going to puberty, You're
- 35:03Speaker 1: becoming a young adult. So it's like everything that he
- 35:06Speaker 1: was just saying, it was just hitting me different short
- 35:09Speaker 1: and it was like, so the same thing with Volume two.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Like I was in middle school when that came out,
- 35:14Speaker 1: and I never forget, like everybody was playing that album, man,
- 35:19Speaker 1: and that was like the album that changed five million records'
- 35:23Speaker 1: so five million records and it was like every song
- 35:26Speaker 1: on that album is just dope and the delivery and everything.
- 35:29Speaker 1: So it's like that was a moment in time and
- 35:32Speaker 1: that was the transition for jay Z because we had
- 35:35Speaker 1: New jay Z's for a long time as far as
- 35:36Speaker 1: his music was concerning. Now that is the album that
- 35:38Speaker 1: sparked the Hard Knock Life tour. Yeah, that was that
- 35:41Speaker 1: was everything. He was never the same after the album
- 35:44Speaker 1: he was. He became hole, he became whole album. So
- 35:47Speaker 1: that's my top five hip hop album. About top five,
- 35:50Speaker 1: I'll change it because we got some of the similar ones.
- 35:53Speaker 1: Ellmatic is my favorite album of any genre of all time.
- 35:56Speaker 1: I'm there with you that dog style for me, But
- 36:00Speaker 1: so like in the in the studio. We got the
- 36:02Speaker 1: albums like looking at us, that doggy Style is definitely
- 36:05Speaker 1: on the only built a Links is in there. Life
- 36:10Speaker 1: after Death is definitely I think that the greatest double
- 36:13Speaker 1: CD ever made. Sure better than Ready to Die to
- 36:18Speaker 1: a lot a lot better Ready to Die, he said
- 36:23Speaker 1: the mob Deep Joint. So I'll go I'll go with
- 36:26Speaker 1: one of my favorite guys of all time. I'll say
- 36:28Speaker 1: The Carter Too is one of my favorite albums all
- 36:31Speaker 1: the time. Wayne, Wayne is my guy. I'm a die
- 36:33Speaker 1: hard Wayne guy. And then man, there's there's a couple
- 36:38Speaker 1: that are super important. If I have to, if I
- 36:43Speaker 1: have to, It's It's It's Jay, but it's too I'm
- 36:47Speaker 1: gonna go to for J. I think Blueprint for J
- 36:51Speaker 1: and four for four. It's one of my favorite albums
- 36:55Speaker 1: just because of the growth right like we had. We
- 36:58Speaker 1: saw some of our rappers not make it to adulthood,
- 37:01Speaker 1: to fatherhood, to fully mature. So to watch him from
- 37:05Speaker 1: reasonable doubt to get to volume one, volume two obviously
- 37:10Speaker 1: Blueprint and then to grow and have transgressions and have
- 37:14Speaker 1: life experience and to express that. Plus the financial literacy
- 37:17Speaker 1: piece inside tons of tons of gems like kind of
- 37:20Speaker 1: the first like successful, like grown up, yeah, like grown man,
- 37:27Speaker 1: Like now is that life is good? And I was like, oh,
- 37:28Speaker 1: that's growth, that's fatherhood. We're experiencing these things at the
- 37:31Speaker 1: same time, and like now he's talking about financial literacy
- 37:34Speaker 1: and four for four and he's talking about marriage and
- 37:36Speaker 1: he's talking about like real grown man ship and legacy
- 37:39Speaker 1: and we're going through those things in real life. And
- 37:40Speaker 1: I'm like, yo, this is probably one of my favorite
- 37:42Speaker 1: pieces of work that he's ever done. So those are
- 37:44Speaker 1: my five. And if we had to count Lawrence Hill's
- 37:46Speaker 1: Miseducation and his hip Hop, we thought that in it. Yeah,
- 37:51Speaker 1: I mean, yo, yeah, you guys, I would uh Volume
- 37:55Speaker 1: two four for four of those, I mean you know.
- 37:57Speaker 1: I would say about jay Z is like there's a
- 37:59Speaker 1: couple of jay Z albums that I just did not like.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Magna Car The Holy Girl was one that just kind
- 38:04Speaker 1: of he tried to advance us in the art world
- 38:06Speaker 1: on that one. We wasn't ready. We got a fucking
- 38:08Speaker 1: Sam song for Nicholas and Dimes. I still we forgive
- 38:14Speaker 1: them for that one. And the album that people dislike
- 38:18Speaker 1: that I love is Blueprint too, because the double or
- 38:22Speaker 1: the Point one is the better one because they kind
- 38:25Speaker 1: of took all the best songs and they but that
- 38:29Speaker 1: Meet the Parents is so mad, even like the Blueprint
- 38:33Speaker 1: two record, That Blueprint or that just Play is produced
- 38:36Speaker 1: with like the with the flutes and Ship, Oh yeah,
- 38:40Speaker 1: that ship is crazy. He was. It was like the
- 38:41Speaker 1: last time he took shots at nas. Yeah, because coofie
- 38:45Speaker 1: don't mean it be right, yes, because you don't understand
- 38:47Speaker 1: that it don't mean it to to be nice. It's been
- 38:49Speaker 1: dope to see you guys interviewing artists now, and I
- 38:52Speaker 1: think you guys are interviewing artists from like away, Like
- 38:56Speaker 1: I love the perspective when you guys talk to someone
- 38:58Speaker 1: like the Russell Rick Ross, like for you guys like
- 39:01Speaker 1: kind of going from being like a I mean, you
- 39:05Speaker 1: guys are still independent, but you guys obviously have blown
- 39:09Speaker 1: up and you guys are doing dope ship now with
- 39:12Speaker 1: Revolt and doing all you guys are doing a lot
- 39:13Speaker 1: of cool shit. Like how cool is it to be
- 39:16Speaker 1: able to interview a guy like Rick Ross and have
- 39:19Speaker 1: conversations with these guys that you guys dope. It's a
- 39:23Speaker 1: real moment, Like you know, as far as fans before anything, sure,
- 39:28Speaker 1: listening to music growing up and arguing, having debates, having
- 39:32Speaker 1: fights about music like you know I have. I used
- 39:36Speaker 1: to have almost physical fist fights about Nas and jay
- 39:40Speaker 1: Z And during that time, I fucking was team Nas
- 39:43Speaker 1: so hard. I just refused to listen to jay Z
- 39:46Speaker 1: for about a year. So it's like them. So now
- 39:49Speaker 1: that have Dan Dashed on speed Own, it's crazy, like
- 39:52Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Like it's it's not even
- 39:53Speaker 1: a surreal moment, and it's just like Rick Ross, like
- 39:57Speaker 1: being in his house and chopping it up with him,
- 39:59Speaker 1: like no saying, like having conversations with I t. I
- 40:02Speaker 1: was one of my favorite rappers of all time. Talking
- 40:04Speaker 1: to TI, I like trap music, Urban Legend or King?
- 40:07Speaker 1: Where are you at all of them? Okay, all you
- 40:09Speaker 1: gotta pick one trap music to me because that said
- 40:12Speaker 1: the vibe he changed and he's got that doing my
- 40:14Speaker 1: job on there. But that a y I think that
- 40:16Speaker 1: was a Kanye It was it. I feel like from
- 40:19Speaker 1: a musical standpoint, he got into his bag with Urban
- 40:24Speaker 1: Legend and the King album. Urban Legend is probably my
- 40:29Speaker 1: favorite album. But trap music, I mean he created trap music.
- 40:34Speaker 1: He said it. He's the first person to say trap music.
- 40:36Speaker 1: So like that alone is Hall of Fame status, but
- 40:39Speaker 1: she would just leave this boozy thing alone. I saw
- 40:42Speaker 1: a video last night and him at his restaurant on
- 40:44Speaker 1: the mic holding up the paperwork, and it was like,
- 40:47Speaker 1: you know what, somebody somebody talking to us the other day.
- 40:50Speaker 1: I think it was Big Boy. It was like, you
- 40:53Speaker 1: live long enough to for people to hate you. They
- 40:56Speaker 1: start to see flaws in you. They start to say, oh, yeah, yeah,
- 40:58Speaker 1: your music is wag and it's it's unfortunate, right, because
- 41:01Speaker 1: it's like the longer you live, the more opportunities you
- 41:06Speaker 1: have to fuck up to be discredited. Yeah, because you're
- 41:09Speaker 1: under the If you're as famous as Tie, you're famous.
- 41:13Speaker 1: Tips I guy man, he's a he's a close friend
- 41:16Speaker 1: of the show. I think one of the funny things
- 41:18Speaker 1: he said is like, I don't I don't like somebody
- 41:20Speaker 1: that get fly and then get shy, like yo, those
- 41:23Speaker 1: don't talk crazy and then not show up when they
- 41:25Speaker 1: invited to prove or to try to discribe me and
- 41:27Speaker 1: not you know, come to see what it's actually true.
- 41:30Speaker 1: I just think like certain ship should be like the
- 41:32Speaker 1: Tip Tips I guy, you know TI, I think is
- 41:34Speaker 1: like he's t I don't even acknowledge the ship, like
- 41:37Speaker 1: just keep it moving your tip, bro, like you're one
- 41:39Speaker 1: of the ghosts. It's crazy, man, I mean that's what
- 41:41Speaker 1: I'm saying. Like we hip hop babies, like I always
- 41:45Speaker 1: like I'm literally like a hip hop baby born in
- 41:47Speaker 1: South Bronx, grew up listening to rock Can and kar
- 41:50Speaker 1: Rest up until this point now where it's like obviously
- 41:53Speaker 1: you heard the list of people that we named it
- 41:55Speaker 1: our albums, Like getting to meet Nas and him telling
- 41:58Speaker 1: us that he listens to what we're doing, Like like
- 42:00Speaker 1: think about the nostalgia that that It's just like one
- 42:02Speaker 1: of these moments in might be like ya, this is real.
- 42:04Speaker 1: Like this guy we listen to growing up and helped
- 42:07Speaker 1: shape and mold some of the things and how we
- 42:08Speaker 1: saw life is now listening to us for what we
- 42:11Speaker 1: do in education and the financial space. It's like pretty crazy.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Like even like the way we look at Jay and
- 42:16Speaker 1: being able to be at the Rock Nation brunch, it
- 42:18Speaker 1: like right, like this is real life. That's the kind
- 42:21Speaker 1: of shit you see on Instagram every year. It's like, yeah,
- 42:23Speaker 1: you see it and now you're there and like you know,
- 42:26Speaker 1: we looked up like we watched these guys like we
- 42:28Speaker 1: watched Puff and now to know Puff and sit with
- 42:30Speaker 1: him and him tell us how important the work we're doing.
- 42:33Speaker 1: It's like it's not something you can write in a script.
- 42:36Speaker 1: It's just like kind of surreal because we're living these moments.
- 42:38Speaker 1: But we have a reverence for these people, you know
- 42:40Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like, like you said, Tip is this
- 42:43Speaker 1: guy and like like we we allgue you all the time.
- 42:46Speaker 1: He's like, yo, I used to say, yo, Wayne's the
- 42:47Speaker 1: best rapp alive and he's like, no, Tips the best
- 42:49Speaker 1: too from the South. I'm like nah, and now the
- 42:51Speaker 1: note Tip and like he's like, yo, you know this
- 42:53Speaker 1: guy thought Wayne was better than you, like at the
- 42:56Speaker 1: time I did. Hey, we got to interrupt the interview. Man, Hey,

- 44:47Speaker 1: and the experience at Hardan is like nowhere else. The
- 44:52Speaker 1: customer service, the selection of premium cannabis, the experience is
- 44:56Speaker 1: a customer that you get when you walk into the
- 44:58Speaker 1: building in Las Vegas is bar none the best. It's
- 45:02Speaker 1: just the best. Man, they are the best. We got
- 45:04Speaker 1: so much going on this weekend. They're sponsoring the Rolling

- 45:31Speaker 1: Dean Las Vegas. You know what's so funny is I
- 45:33Speaker 1: do that shit to my friends all the time. Like
- 45:35Speaker 1: if I get around a famous person, I'm a one
- 45:36Speaker 1: of my childhood friends. I'm like, like, for example, Common right,
- 45:40Speaker 1: my best friend being in Resurrection? Yes, but my best friend,
- 45:47Speaker 1: he always says, it's like I know his top five albums. Right.
- 45:50Speaker 1: So we're on comments score Bus and I'm like, hey,
- 45:53Speaker 1: you have his third favorite album of all time and
- 45:56Speaker 1: he's like third, what are the other two? I'm like, dude,
- 46:00Speaker 1: he loves Resurrection, but he thinks a Quemini is much better. Ceminize.
- 46:04Speaker 1: That's another class I got right there. I got it.
- 46:06Speaker 1: This is on my wall too, Yeah, I got that
- 46:08Speaker 1: man love. Hey, who's the goat from the Bronx. I'm
- 46:11Speaker 1: gonna listen. If I'm forgetting it, it's gotta be Caress
- 46:14Speaker 1: fat Joor pun Right, I'll say this is fat Joe
- 46:18Speaker 1: because of the longer big pun. Kress is the pioneer
- 46:23Speaker 1: and he's he's always gonna be the godfather, right, Big
- 46:26Speaker 1: Pun was the lyrical assassin. I mean, Big Pun is
- 46:29Speaker 1: the best rapper. He's a he just didn't have to
- 46:32Speaker 1: have a long enough Fat Joe. Fat Joe is one
- 46:36Speaker 1: of the most underrated people in hip hop history because
- 46:38Speaker 1: all the time. He came out in ninety two and
- 46:41Speaker 1: he's still relevant. He's more relevant now he's ever was,
- 46:44Speaker 1: not even just from rapping, just from a personality standpoint.
- 46:47Speaker 1: He just loved like he's like he's like kind of
- 46:49Speaker 1: like the East Coast Snoop kind of yeah, you know,
- 46:51Speaker 1: just love you see him. You know, he's like thirty
- 46:53Speaker 1: years in the game, and he's just as relevant now
- 46:55Speaker 1: as he ever was. And he has a lot of
- 46:59Speaker 1: hit records, and he's a beast of a rap Like
- 47:02Speaker 1: he's an m C s MC you can rap. I
- 47:05Speaker 1: gets fucking verse on like Big L's album, Like man
- 47:07Speaker 1: is one of those guys one krs. Yeah, it's gotta
- 47:12Speaker 1: be Fat Joe for a while, Like even to middle school.
- 47:15Speaker 1: If people ask me who the best rapper was, I
- 47:16Speaker 1: would tell you Krus. But like you said, it's a longevity, yeah,
- 47:20Speaker 1: and those guys, it's it's unfortunate because they're not The
- 47:23Speaker 1: thing is, like like the Pioneers, they're not that much
- 47:26Speaker 1: older than some of the guys we hold in deep reference.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Like you said, came out in ninety. Gangster is a O.
- 47:31Speaker 1: G J and jay Z are not far in h right.
- 47:34Speaker 1: There might be a three year age difference, but we
- 47:36Speaker 1: look at them very differently when we talk about their
- 47:38Speaker 1: hip hop. Cardi B's up there because she's probably idn't
- 47:42Speaker 1: think she's the most she's the most commercially successful artist
- 47:45Speaker 1: to ever come out of the French. French TiO I
- 47:49Speaker 1: think French. You gotta put French as far as like
- 47:51Speaker 1: as we're talking about commercial success and singles and music
- 47:54Speaker 1: that's dominated. You got a Dimon record, Now Cardi has
- 47:57Speaker 1: two Dimon record. Cardi is way more musically said, we
- 47:59Speaker 1: got put them in a conversation for the Bronx, that's yeah.
- 48:02Speaker 1: If we're talking lyrics and if you're putting the five together,
- 48:05Speaker 1: Remy got to be in there. If we're talking just lyrics,
- 48:08Speaker 1: but you gotta you got to mention your friends. As
- 48:09Speaker 1: far as commercial success, that's the best album though it's
- 48:13Speaker 1: Capital Punishment or from the Bronx Invasion of Privacy. You know,
- 48:19Speaker 1: that's a great album. That Cardi b album is great.
- 48:21Speaker 1: I can't even front that she was good and I'm
- 48:23Speaker 1: a guy that was great Historically, Like I don't relate
- 48:26Speaker 1: to a lot of women's like music get up, but
- 48:28Speaker 1: that Cardio album is crazy. She delivered. Definitely. She's a
- 48:33Speaker 1: historical figure when it comes to hip hop already. She's
- 48:36Speaker 1: done so much with and it's like she only has
- 48:38Speaker 1: one album. I mean, she has a mixtape ship. But
- 48:40Speaker 1: like if we're thinking, like since like the world is
- 48:42Speaker 1: known Cardi Invasion of Privacy and a bunch of bunch
- 48:45Speaker 1: of hits she's held. She's held a wave for like
- 48:47Speaker 1: eight years now, Like she's held the throng and she's
- 48:50Speaker 1: like he held it for a long time. Shout out
- 48:52Speaker 1: to Nikki another New Yorker. I'm just saying, I don't know.
- 48:55Speaker 1: It could be longer than that. I don't know, but
- 48:59Speaker 1: that was It's like twenty eighteen, twenty seventeen, late twenty seventeen.
- 49:03Speaker 1: She wanted to Grammy into twenty nineteen, So what six years? Okay,
- 49:06Speaker 1: six years, so she's she's been a number one female
- 49:08Speaker 1: artist for six years. Nicki Minaj had it for a
- 49:10Speaker 1: long time and then Carti took it. Yeah, I think
- 49:14Speaker 1: the difference between like I think Cardi is like probably
- 49:16Speaker 1: the most in my opinion, like likable personality. Like people
- 49:21Speaker 1: just related her. She's very hilarious, Like she got to
- 49:24Speaker 1: McDonald's meal right now. Yeah, Like I booked an offset
- 49:26Speaker 1: at my club for super Bowl weekend and I went
- 49:29Speaker 1: to the Airbnb to drop off his money and like
- 49:31Speaker 1: he's playing me his album and shit, she just came
- 49:32Speaker 1: out of the bedroom. She was. She's just like the
- 49:34Speaker 1: nicest girl. Yeah, I mean super like super personable, you
- 49:37Speaker 1: know what I mean she has. Yeah, her personality is infectious.
- 49:41Speaker 1: Like we saw that personality you don't love and hip
- 49:43Speaker 1: hop until obviously we both fail. It should matters too,
- 49:46Speaker 1: because you thinking about Fat Joe. If tomorrow it came
- 49:49Speaker 1: out that Fat Joe was hosting Good Morning America, we'd
- 49:51Speaker 1: be like that's crazy, but we'd also be like, I
- 49:54Speaker 1: see it. Yeah, yeah, he's great, he can do it all. Yeah,
- 49:57Speaker 1: and we know him personally, so we just we actually
- 49:59Speaker 1: just had a two hour with de Bait with him
- 50:01Speaker 1: at in Utah the All Star. We ran into him
- 50:05Speaker 1: in fab It was random at this restaurant and We
- 50:08Speaker 1: had a two hour debate with Joe about music, and yeah,
- 50:13Speaker 1: he's a very he's a very he's a very opinion.
- 50:16Speaker 1: What was what was his wife? Because I've forgotten into
- 50:18Speaker 1: arguments with fat Joe about wrapped what what was the
- 50:20Speaker 1: opinion he was he was standing on. I don't want
- 50:24Speaker 1: to say too much. You know, you know what Joe is.
- 50:28Speaker 1: He has a great memory. But some things fifty list
- 50:32Speaker 1: with that, and then he wasn't about that. Was he
- 50:34Speaker 1: on the top fifty? He was not in the list.
- 50:37Speaker 1: That's agreed. He wasn't arguing about himself, which he said
- 50:39Speaker 1: he should have been on it. But some of the
- 50:41Speaker 1: people on the list I will make I will let
- 50:45Speaker 1: them remain nameless. But he was confused about some of
- 50:48Speaker 1: the people on the list. I was confused by some
- 50:49Speaker 1: of the people I was confused about. I'm confused by
- 50:52Speaker 1: a lot of the people on the list. And he
- 50:53Speaker 1: never was saying like I should be on it. He
- 50:55Speaker 1: was just confused by some people were on it. He
- 50:57Speaker 1: should have been on it, but he definitely should be
- 50:59Speaker 1: on it. And obviously what we just said, and we
- 51:02Speaker 1: had a spirited debate about the longevity of people's careers
- 51:06Speaker 1: and what makes the legendary and so like again like
- 51:10Speaker 1: he's one of those guys and you just had thirty
- 51:11Speaker 1: years Like some of these people that have made the
- 51:13Speaker 1: list maybe had two songs and we can't remember a
- 51:16Speaker 1: memorable verse or song. And so it's interesting. Man, the
- 51:20Speaker 1: people that make these lists, we don't know who they are.
- 51:24Speaker 1: My question stone exactly, and it was billboard and put
- 51:27Speaker 1: together and that's what it was. Yeah, we don't know
- 51:29Speaker 1: who did it. But my thing was like, yo, let's
- 51:31Speaker 1: why don't we create something. Well, we have people who
- 51:34Speaker 1: we agree are valid enough and qualified enough to make
- 51:38Speaker 1: an opinion on this. Let's like get ten people in
- 51:41Speaker 1: a room and make a list that makes sense. I
- 51:43Speaker 1: saw it, what I saw. What I saw. Rick Ross
- 51:47Speaker 1: was number fifty. That's why the list. It's funny because
- 51:49Speaker 1: I did a list. Remember a few years ago, somebody
- 51:53Speaker 1: put out their list of favorite like top rappers and
- 51:55Speaker 1: went viral. I forget who did it. So I did
- 51:57Speaker 1: my own list and I had Rick Ross of ten,
- 52:00Speaker 1: which people were like, you're fucking crazy, he's at least
- 52:02Speaker 1: top twenty. I'm my gosh, he's got a classic. He's
- 52:07Speaker 1: got a classic. Which one are you saying this classic.
- 52:09Speaker 1: I think Teflon Donn is the one everyone should agree on.
- 52:11Speaker 1: But I think deeper than rape, like deeper than one
- 52:17Speaker 1: to me, and it's a classic. To me, it's a classic.
- 52:20Speaker 1: I always tell everybody like there's like classics to us,
- 52:23Speaker 1: and then there's like consensus classics change the game though,
- 52:27Speaker 1: that's when he want to get fifty and that's when
- 52:29Speaker 1: he became a mainstream superstar artist. But I think there's
- 52:32Speaker 1: like two classifications of classics. I think there's like the
- 52:36Speaker 1: consensus classics that like nobody wants to disagree with cult,
- 52:38Speaker 1: the cult class doggy style, Get Richard Died, Trying, Good Kid,
- 52:42Speaker 1: Mad City, Like there's no like if anybody who knows
- 52:45Speaker 1: hip hop can't say ship if you say my Beautiful
- 52:47Speaker 1: dartwss if fans in classic, right, But then I think
- 52:50Speaker 1: there's like there's there are other kind of like That's
- 52:52Speaker 1: why I always say Drake has classic albums? To me?
- 52:56Speaker 1: Which one I like Take Care? And I like Nothing
- 52:59Speaker 1: was the same. Yeah, I think Drake's I think Drake's
- 53:03Speaker 1: best album. I don't even know if it is an album.
- 53:06Speaker 1: If you're reading this, it is too late, Yes, like
- 53:09Speaker 1: nothing as the best. Nothing was the same as money
- 53:11Speaker 1: if if you're reading this, it's too late. Every song
- 53:15Speaker 1: one there, like it's just tainted to me because I
- 53:20Speaker 1: heard the Quentin Miller references. I'm not even I'm rocking
- 53:23Speaker 1: with that. I'm just doesn't in the back end of
- 53:25Speaker 1: that album through the six kind of wo like that
- 53:28Speaker 1: was that was the one, nothing that the one to me.
- 53:30Speaker 1: But but I always say that Drake is an artist
- 53:34Speaker 1: who is yet to have a consensus classic. He doesn't
- 53:38Speaker 1: have a classic like and that he doesn't have Illmatic,
- 53:40Speaker 1: he doesn't have an Ilmatic, he doesn't have an a Quemini.
- 53:43Speaker 1: He doesn't have one of those. Now there's an argument
- 53:45Speaker 1: to be made to take care could be one of those,
- 53:47Speaker 1: but it's still an argument. There's an argument. That's where
- 53:50Speaker 1: I'm at with like, motherfuckers will swear that bro I
- 53:53Speaker 1: was just Freddie Gibbs with this guy. I argued with
- 53:57Speaker 1: Drake for about an hour and a half about this
- 53:59Speaker 1: in person for time I met him, because I'm pretty
- 54:01Speaker 1: harsh on Drake, but not like as a dick, because
- 54:03Speaker 1: I'm a fan. This motherfucker was like, oh, I know
- 54:05Speaker 1: exactly who you are, and I was like, hey man,
- 54:11Speaker 1: because I'm with my guys. I gotta keep the same energy.
- 54:15Speaker 1: I was like, you know, I just went viral recently
- 54:17Speaker 1: because I said you didn't have a classic albabal So
- 54:20Speaker 1: and He's like, well, you know, someone like you would
- 54:22Speaker 1: never understand. So we were arguing first. It was at
- 54:26Speaker 1: least an hour. We're sitting at the bar at Harriet's
- 54:29Speaker 1: and Westie and I'm just explaining to him why I
- 54:31Speaker 1: don't like, I'm like, no, you have a classic. I
- 54:33Speaker 1: think nothing was the same as a classic. Why do
- 54:35Speaker 1: you say somebody like you wouldn't understand because I'm not
- 54:37Speaker 1: from Toronto. So he's like pretty much looking at me
- 54:40Speaker 1: like I'm some fucking old head, fucking back dude, And
- 54:44Speaker 1: I'm like, no, I love your ship, but you gotta
- 54:47Speaker 1: be a little more vulnerable, Like I don't know Drake's
- 54:50Speaker 1: like stance on social issues, like you know what I mean.
- 54:53Speaker 1: I wonder what he thinks his classics are. Drake doesn't
- 54:56Speaker 1: From that conversation, Drake, did you get a sense of
- 54:59Speaker 1: like what it went? From that? And then we ended
- 55:02Speaker 1: up and here was me fifty thousand dollars because we
- 55:04Speaker 1: bet we had an art. Then well we went into it.
- 55:07Speaker 1: We went into this this huge basketball argument. It was great,
- 55:12Speaker 1: It was great. It was like we walked away that
- 55:15Speaker 1: night and it was one of those night roiss like, Yo,
- 55:16Speaker 1: tonight really happened. Like I argue with Drake for almost
- 55:20Speaker 1: two hours at a bar with Freddie Gibbs about wrapping
- 55:24Speaker 1: NBA and he bet me that year that my Phoenix
- 55:27Speaker 1: Suns would not go further than the Warriors. And that
- 55:29Speaker 1: was the year we went to the finals and lost
- 55:31Speaker 1: to the Bucks fifty grand Oh, that's not that long
- 55:34Speaker 1: did you have for I haven't seen him. Oh, I
- 55:38Speaker 1: definitely hit him on the did he read it? Of
- 55:40Speaker 1: course not if you're reading this. We left. But I
- 55:45Speaker 1: also think that albums aren't looked at the same like
- 55:47Speaker 1: when we was growing up. Albums meant to lie right
- 55:50Speaker 1: your album cover, that everything the inside of the writing,
- 55:55Speaker 1: like people used to tell stories. I think good kid
- 55:58Speaker 1: Man City. I would say Victory Left too. That's like
- 56:01Speaker 1: the last album where it really like because if you
- 56:05Speaker 1: listen to Victory, Lap and Game actually did this on
- 56:07Speaker 1: the album too, but the songs bleed into each other,
- 56:10Speaker 1: so the beats actually end up so like when you
- 56:13Speaker 1: hear like real big, real big, and then it's like
- 56:15Speaker 1: the other song, well the song after that with se
- 56:18Speaker 1: Long the basis, they bleed into each other. So it's
- 56:24Speaker 1: like you who did a really good driver that recently?
- 56:26Speaker 1: Just like note metro Booman's album, it's I hears, it's crazy,
- 56:29Speaker 1: it's incredible. I think the forties master that that that
- 56:34Speaker 1: just the transition from songs and even inside the same
- 56:36Speaker 1: song into what I'm saying, I think I think the
- 56:39Speaker 1: last classic of this time, like for this era, I
- 56:41Speaker 1: think My Turn. I think Little Babies is the last
- 56:44Speaker 1: classic album. I think time will tell. Yeah, but that's era.
- 56:48Speaker 1: But I feel like Little Babies Essentials is the best
- 56:51Speaker 1: Essentials on Apple Music. But that's a different conversation. Randomly,
- 56:56Speaker 1: let me just throw this out. But what I'm saying
- 56:59Speaker 1: is that now it's become more about singles, and it's
- 57:03Speaker 1: not really about a body of work. It's about even
- 57:06Speaker 1: if you have fifteen songs, it's like, let's make fifteen records.
- 57:13Speaker 1: They don't really have. They're not cohesive, like Good Kid,
- 57:15Speaker 1: Mad City is telling the story right, It's not about
- 57:18Speaker 1: making a cohesive body of work. It's just about making
- 57:22Speaker 1: songs that sound good. Some people we can't not Kendrick
- 57:26Speaker 1: then because that's what he just did. I just said, Kendrick,
- 57:27Speaker 1: he's the last one. But I'm not. You said good
- 57:29Speaker 1: Kid City. But classic, I don't think that album that
- 57:32Speaker 1: he put out, I don't think it's being known as
- 57:34Speaker 1: a classic. Butterfly. I mean, I think that's a classic
- 57:36Speaker 1: to me, me too, but it's a very cult class
- 57:40Speaker 1: all the Rising album. I love that album, me too
- 57:42Speaker 1: and an Aged So Good Love. I think Drakes have
- 57:46Speaker 1: to just sit down and just say, Okay, this is
- 57:48Speaker 1: a legacy player. Think but I think so Drake. Drake
- 57:51Speaker 1: has the ability to a legacy play where he just
- 57:53Speaker 1: sits down and says, you know what, I'm just going
- 57:55Speaker 1: to just make an album that he just said that
- 57:59Speaker 1: he said he might be giving it up. I mean,
- 58:00Speaker 1: he just did a fucking em album, so he could
- 58:04Speaker 1: do whatever he wants to say. But he could he
- 58:05Speaker 1: could make a concept album. He could put his head down,
- 58:07Speaker 1: get what the alchemist just blaze? But does he want
- 58:10Speaker 1: to That's why he just did that. I don't know
- 58:12Speaker 1: if y'all saw the whole Little Yachty interview, but he
- 58:14Speaker 1: was kind of saying like he's this is the tail
- 58:17Speaker 1: end of he might just be the passion for it
- 58:19Speaker 1: is not the same. He's a race commented himself as
- 58:21Speaker 1: as the greatest of all time. Right, so it's like
- 58:24Speaker 1: if you question one, I saw the question mark face
- 58:27Speaker 1: the greatest successful rapper. Well when you say that's the
- 58:30Speaker 1: biggest hit maker. So here's the thing about the greatest
- 58:32Speaker 1: of all time, right, it's like a three headed monster
- 58:34Speaker 1: like it is. You've heard some reference tracks that kind
- 58:37Speaker 1: of but it kind of just kind of just made
- 58:41Speaker 1: me look at that a little, that conversation a little,
- 58:45Speaker 1: since when when's the last time you heard the reference
- 58:46Speaker 1: truck the Quentin Miller thing. Say, so, I undertand I understand.
- 58:52Speaker 1: I've been in studios of rappers. I get it, motherfuckers
- 58:54Speaker 1: get help with lines. But that was the whole song.
- 58:57Speaker 1: That's a fact. But listen, go ahead, go ahead, the
- 59:01Speaker 1: greatest of all time. We didn't know that jay Z
- 59:04Speaker 1: took ninety nine problems from iced T. I didn't know that.
- 59:07Speaker 1: I didn't know that verse was from Bumbe. I didn't
- 59:09Speaker 1: know that. I never heard the song before I knew
- 59:12Speaker 1: the Biggie reference is because we heard the music. But
- 59:15Speaker 1: a lot of people, if you're from Memphis, Tennessee, you
- 59:17Speaker 1: might not even knew that, bring them out, bring them out.
- 59:20Speaker 1: It's hard to yell when the bad rails in your mouth.
- 59:23Speaker 1: You might not have known that that's actually Biggie Small.
- 59:25Speaker 1: That's not that I knew it, but like, you know
- 59:28Speaker 1: what I'm saying. So it's like, is that a reference track? No, No,
- 59:32Speaker 1: it's not track I sage. But how you don't know it?
- 59:36Speaker 1: Like I hadn't know. I just found out two days
- 59:39Speaker 1: ago that ninety nine Problems was from ic T. I
- 59:41Speaker 1: just found out a week ago that that verse was
- 59:45Speaker 1: from that, not the verse the strong, not a whole
- 59:50Speaker 1: having a pussy but the pussy. Have no goddamn sense
- 59:51Speaker 1: trying to put that's a reference. That's a bar. Did
- 59:54Speaker 1: you know that? I didn't know it. It's a bar
- 59:59Speaker 1: bar for saying Drake is the goat. I get it.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: His numbers are on the board's but there's only a
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: few goats. Yeah, there's only many. How many are there? Drake, Kanye,
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: jay Z, Nas, Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Kendrick Lamar. I think
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: it's too little, Wayne. I can't I can't give I
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: can't say its early. Yes, okay, so Biggie had two albums.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: Once again, you live long. Wait wait, wait, wait, I'm
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: not going with it. Big Big Biggie is a goat
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: off of two albums. Two albums. You can say three
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: because of the double album. Okay, Kendrick, it has to
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: be a goat off of his body of work already,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: because there's an argument Kendrick's going, then he has to
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: be going that. The the argument of it is too
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: early in his career. He dropped, he passed away. God,
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: I forbid, he passed away. He has classics people ten years. Yes,
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: it's not like he's not selling out shows every time
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: he does, and it's not like he's putting out putting
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: out bodies of war quality music. He's going. But I
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: also look at it like Kendrick to me is like Eminem.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: Oh no, well, by the way, Eminem's you got to
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: give it. But Eminem has never sniffed an album as
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: good as Kendrick's best two albums, three albums. I'm just
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: saying as far as like cultural influence, right, I listened
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: to Good Kid, Mass City, I listened to Butterfly, but
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: like I hang around like some younger kids and the
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: cultural and we spoke about this with different people. Kendrick
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: the cultural influence is not there, maybe not in New Year.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: I think in L A is no. I don't know.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: I know people from L. I don't disagree with you,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: and that's that's no. No, I don't disagree with you
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: in terms of like Kendrick might not have the cultural
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: influence that Future has or Drake has. Future is another one.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: He's he's a goot, He's a goat, futures ago, he's God. Listen,
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: my top ten can be legends. He's gold He's just golden,
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: just golded bro futures like top five most influential rapper.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: I'm just saying, is he he's golding. But I'm just saying,
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: like like when I say, like you, I think he's
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: I think I think he's the greatest club artist of
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: all time. I think he has I think he has
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: a classic. I think Dirty S Probably Too is a
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: classic album. He's got classic. I think that his longevity
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: is still he's still going. But I do think that
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: like Eminem never, I never in life ever listened to
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: Eminem's music. You never listened to the Eminem Show? I did?
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: I think that's I never listened to a lot of
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: Commons is great Man's and then that mixtape era where
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: he was on All the Greenland. I think it was
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: Conway or somebody said, like, we don't look like there's
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: no disrespect. Listen. I've been in the car with Conway
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: and Denver, Colorado. He was in the car and he
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: was playing the most random Eminem album cuts and I
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: filmed it because I was like, he went back to
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: the Marshall Man like, check out my guy actually listening
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: to Eminem, Like listen, I'm just saying, as far as
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: I think Jones said this right growing up, growing up,
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: like the people that I was around, right, never in
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: life ever played Eminem's music. So I think that like
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: influence culturally is because Eminem definitely undeniably had cultural influence,
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: maybe not in what he didn't have. He didn't have
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: no influence, no, no, no no culture. No no, I'm not
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: saying he I'm not saying. I mean he influenced pop
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: culture and American pop culture, American American. He influenced American culture.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: He did not like nobody was like dressing like this
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: guy and the Jordan's sweatsuits. Let me put those on.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Nobody was doing that. But he opened up, He opened
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: the door for due audience. He also gave us fifty cents.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: He didn't give us. He didn't give us. We had
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: New York, we have you had the mixtapes, and he
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: played a part. And if he would have had his
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: second wave after the Colombia deal, but he played a part.
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: Major went, but I got the XXL behind you listen, listen.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: But Weanster came out fifty cent. Was in a bidding
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: war bro like Wanster was already done. They mastered the Rescue,
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: but Wanster was done by who produced that record. It
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: wasn't it wasn't it wasn't no, it was what we
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: call it. His first person that he was working with
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: from New York was shot Money Yo Wangster. By the
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: Tom Winster came out fifty cent and he was listening.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: He was gonna be whoever listen. The differences is in
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: the club. The club is what changed mainstream mainstream. So
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: I'm saying fifty would have been like hen It could
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: have been like dip Set and Cameron. We don't know.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: And I'm not saying dips. I'm not trying to discount
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: dip Set and love those guys. I'm a huge fucking
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: dip Set guy. But I think we can all agree,
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: like commercially like he was never like a superstar. No,
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: they didn't, but they had more cultural they had then
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: g Unit they did. They had way more cultural influence. Disagree,
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: but I'm saying fifty we don't know what his ceiling
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: would have been without a doctor j Eminem co signs
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: and get Richard I trying. That's got Eminem and Dre's
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: fingerprints all over it. But a lot of those records
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: already there, but a lot of those wrecks. I mean,
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: the biggest records were already there. Twenty one questions already there,
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: many men was already there. Langston was already there in
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: the club, Yes, in the club, wasn't he produced by Dre?
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: Patiently waiting. I don't think that's one of his better records. Heat,
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: but heats crazy with the with the with the that
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: he's the one with the gunshot okay, and the beat.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: I mean they played a major part in making him
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: a mainstream artist for sure. I just think that like
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: Eminem might not like as an artist, he doesn't have
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: the cultural influence as a dipsy. But this is exactly so.
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: This this is an interesting and like I said, no
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: disrespect because those guys, every single person that we just
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: named is allegend. Eminem's alegend. But what I'm saying is
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: that mainstream success and cultural influence are two different things. Correct,
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: Eminem had tremendous mainstream success, he didn't have any cultural influence.
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: There's no disrespect. I've never seen anybody say that they
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: wanted like Dipset didn't have mainstream success. They had tremendous,
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: but they had tremendous cultural influence. Their cultural influence way
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: out surpassed the amount of records that they sold. I agree,
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: like you know what I'm saying. So there's certain people
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: that have strong cultural influence and are not successful as
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: far as selling a bunch of records, and there's some
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: people that sell a bunch of records and don't have
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: cultural I just think Eminem's cultural influence is different. So
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: then where's Drake Drake? Because what's the cultural in the
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: urban community. I'm gonna tell you. Because every club in
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: America that you go to they play and Drake. Every
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: radio station they playing Drake. Drake has that sounds like
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: so me and my boy Glasses Malone because g Malone
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: says this about Drake. Drake, what what's the what's Drake's
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: culture that he's bringing to the table. Listen, listen, he's
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: bringing Toronto, Canada. Let me let me plain something to you.
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: I went to Toronto, Canada fifteen years ago. Before before Drake,
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: nobody even knew who Drake was. It used to be
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: ten dollars to get into a club. They had no
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: sense of like how we was doing things as far
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: as bottle service and none of that was none of that.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: You go to it, you go up there and just
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: because you was an American, you get treated like, oh,
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: your royalty. I came back after Drake, everything was changed.
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: It was one hundred dollars to tell me the cultural
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: influence here that he has because I've never seen somebody
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: try to dress like Drake. No, he has no influence
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: when it comes to fashion. But what does he have
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: an influence on music? He changed? No, no, no no, no,
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: I'm saying as far as Drake's influence is his like
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: to me asaf Rocky has like cultural influence right that
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: like we can like on a certain on a certain level.
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: That's That's what I'm saying that Drake don't have that.
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: Because I said that that's the same thing with with Asap.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Is the same thing with a guy like Tyler the
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: creator who's had ones culturally and now also and the
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: rush's coming around, and now he's had the mainstream success
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: where it's like the cut his whole crew. Here's what
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: I'm saying. Right, you could go to the Highlight Row
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: and you're gonna hear Drake. You could go to Dykeman
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: basketball tournament in New York. You're gonna hear Drake. You're
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: not gonna hear Eminem and Dykeman You're not. But but
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: you're gonna hear You're gonna hear T Pain and everywhere
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: T Pains. He has influenced, he had, he had influence
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: on music mainstream. How about this? How about this? How
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: about this? You could go to like thirty different types
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: of places in America. Right now, I'm not saying Dykeman,
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: I'm not saying the Bronx. I'm saying, depending on where
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: you go in let's say twenty twelve, you might hear
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: Flow Rider in like twelve spots. Right, that's gonna happen.
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: But influence is not just all right, we gotta we
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: gotta break down with this influen. It's really me. Part
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: of influence is fashion, Like, so you got to people
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: rap like Drake, yes, or does he Drake sounded like
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: Drake he implemented. He influenced a lot of you. But
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: do you think the same time is kind of He's
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: really good at sampling culture. Absolutely, Like one album movie
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: like I like the British Ship, Let me in and
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: put gigs on my ship, and then the other album,
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: I'm going to do a house album. We gotta give
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: him credit for that because I love the fact that
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: he's he's he's turning up those but he has and
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: he's bringing new eyes to that. It's the same thing,
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: like he has the air for it. He's bringing. It's like, Yo,
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: I like that sound. Let me incorporate that sound number
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: one because I like it. But number two, let me
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: highlight the people that are doing it, and it brings
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: more attention to that sound. It's like, and I had
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: this conversation before it was like, yo, did we know
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: who whiz Kid was before he did a song with him?
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: I don't disagree. I think Drake and now like you
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: look at Whiskey and it's like, Yo, this guy is
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: just the biggest artists. Let's get back to this influence conversation.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: There's different types of influence. So you got influence of fashion.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: So Kanye West is probably the biggest influence when it
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: comes to fashion. He's influenced culture when it comes to music. No,
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: I'm just saying just fashion. Dipset influenced fashion, right, So
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: there's different people that have played major parts of influence.
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: Jay Z at one point influenced fashion. NAS influenced fashion
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: early yeah, asat Rocky influenced fashion to a certain What
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: was NAS's influence on fashion that Ray Kwan wasn't already?
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: They were both. They were came out and with the
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: aver Rex. You guys were there the aver Rex. Are
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: we giving? Are we giving Nas the Averax leather jacket credit?
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: It's not, It's not. That's what I think. The Streets
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: was the flyest rapper. So when he came with the
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: fade in the part that's hip hop culture, the Army Jackets,
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: sneaker Uzi on the Island and my army jacket line.
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: Army Jackets were a New York staple for a very
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: long period of time. He helped pioneer that. Then he
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: then he got flying with it. Was written when he
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: started wearing the leather coats and the ava rexes and
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: all of that, Like those were those fashion billboards when
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: we was watching videos like Yo, I got it, but
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: they all got fled around the same tongue, right, So
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: then then you see and then you see Big with
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: as and then you see Nas and that's that same,
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: right they all start and nos were more similar as
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: part that that dressers. No, Big was more. He was
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: more flamboyant, and he was more like you had to
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: have a bag to dress like you you can funk
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: around shirts and played that parties. But so Drake's influences music.
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: But let's so then then then you got gang culture.
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: That's influential. Dip set another. They influenced gang culture tremendously
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: in New York. There was no gangs in New York.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: Now gang culture is embedded in New York culture. And
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: they played a major part. Not to say that that's
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: something that's positive, but it's influenced from Snoop Dogg, Nipsey,
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: because all of these guys influenced gang culture and they
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: on the masses from even Chief Keith in Chicago, right
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: for all of that that's gang culture. Then you got
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: influence as far as actual music, right. So this is
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: why I say Drake. Drake doesn't have any street influence,
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: he doesn't have any fashion influence, but his musical influence
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: is undeniable. I even look at a little baby. I
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: don't think anybody wants to dress like little baby. He
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: doesn't have any influence when it comes to fashion. His
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: influenced when it comes to music is like you're playing
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: like anywhere I go in America. It could be Wisconsin,
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: it could be Brooklyn, it could be South Central. I'm
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: gonna hear his music being played. I'm not here Kendrick
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: Lamar's music. I'm not hearing Kendrick Lamar's music. No, because
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: Eminem was not influential in black neighborhoods. I didn't Nobody
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: wanted to dress like Eminem. Nobody would listening to Eminem.
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: Eminem is the worst dresser of it was. They was
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: listening to him in the middle of America. But Eminem
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: influenced a lot of white kids to be like, Oh,
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: it's okay for me to wear it. Do rat. I
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: wasn't one of them. Held I knew he Apployd. He
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: influenced pop culture. He influenced American culture. He influenced metal,
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: that is culture. That's always my thing. But hip hop
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: culture is driven by black people. I agree, he didn't
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: drive that's what that influenced, never influenced Black culture. Is
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: not a goat. He is a goat, but he's he's not.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: He is guarded as somebody who was tremendously influent, influential, right,
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: because I never listened to him. So the thing is
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: like fifty would argue that, right, Like he would definitely
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: say there's an augumentary relation. Obviously. Also, even even if
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: you give ten percent of the fifty credit, like, hey,
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: you get ten percent of white, fifty is fifty for
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: those that's all. That's like Jimmy I been right, I
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: mean yeah, but it's Leor. That's like saying Leo Cohen
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: is different. I think it's just different because we're talking
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: about Eminem's the biggest rapper in the hip hop culture
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: is American culture, right, that's it, right, hip hop culture
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: is American culture and influenced American culture. Right. He might
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: have brought more eyes to it when I go to concerts.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: When I look, it doesn't look like me when I
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: go to concerts, right, he might have brought attention to it.
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: Now fans are saying, like, yo, I listened to that.
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: I listened to this person. You gotta give him credit
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: for that. Now as far as like people bumping and ship, nah,
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: I didn't. I listened. I listened to the eminem So
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: I thought it was a great album. But it's probably
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: like the last time I listened to like front to
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: back from him. But I know he has great songs.
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: I know he's great. Great business decision by the way,
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: but I mean he makes he made. I mean the
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: Rihanna joints on. I think that was recovery. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: he had recovery those pretty way. Yeah, those good songs. Right,
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: So I can't discount him and say like he had
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: no influence. His last album wasn't bad music could be
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: murdered Bible. Actually is that when he did the rapping
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: at the fastest, that was the one he had like
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: Juice World on. Is that he's terrible? He was he
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: rapping like he had Yeah the rap rap God was
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: That wasn't rap God was Marshall Matters LP two. I
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: believe like that takes talent to do. But it's also
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: like nobody wants to nobody's nobody's gonna recite that. It
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: was just like, oh, that was a good piece of
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: art that you did, right, Yeah, I don't know, man,
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: I think I think, uh, you know, there's a go
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: I mean, I got push a t in my top
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: like eight, so he's in top eight, but my personal
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: list not in like the all time uh ship, I
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: got set Will, which is a great I think that
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: might be a classic. Yeah, I would say it's nas
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: yay nas yay. Ho Hove to me is like the
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: undisputed greatest of all time that like if like I
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: just think, like, if I'm going to put the real
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: list together, he's I think the only one that can
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: challenge Hohove is Drake and Kanye. The only thing with
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: Kanye is like Kanye to me, when I put like
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: the mc glasses on, it's a little fuzzy because I
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: think he gets a lot of that was, yeah, a
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: whole lot. But to me, I think Kanye is the
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: greatest artist of all time. Personally, I think he's got
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: the best discography. I think if I'm like if I
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: had to go on an island with one guy's out
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: of your work it But yeah, but yeah, I would
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: go nas Hove Yay, Andre Kendrick ghost Face. It's my
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: personal list off the top of my head. By the way,
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: push a T's up there. Rick Ross is around ten.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Common for Me's up there. I love Common. I just
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: think he had like you said, Drake did, not my
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: personal No. I got Freddy Gibbs like real high on
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: my personal ship. I think, I mean Freddy ever just
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: for my personal like I think like for me, like
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: I think Alfredo, he's got to me to me three
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: classic albums like Pata that's just me though I've never
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: listened to You got to listen to Alfredo fully pretty,
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: you know. So you know what's so crazy about this
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: Freddy gae situation. You know the only Freddy Gibbs song
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: I've ever heard in my life, the song Yeah with
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: Bennie the Butcher. Oh well, it's actually a very good song,
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: great song. It will never happen again. Probably won't perform there,
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: probably not. Well, Bennie still performs because it's his biggest sommer.
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: It's his biggest song, Yeah is it? Cole now? That
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: probably is now? I think one Way Flight is now
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: it's got to be a second biggest song. He still performs.
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: It sucks. I'm type with both of them. It's a
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: hell of a wreck. And we see Benny all the time.
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: Bennie's my god, No, I love his that's a classic.
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: That's a classic. That's that albums Alfredo and he doesn't
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: have a Benny doesn't have an album. He's got a
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: mixed your termber boy, who did I say? He said
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: Alchemist Hippo. Yeah, listen, Toreddy gives Alfredo that's the name
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: of it. Yeah, I mean, that's the one he got
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: nominated for Grammy for great, great body of work. Yeah,
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: I mean, I think. But then if I can putting
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: together the list is different because I'm like, it's jay
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: Z Drake is in there. I got a little Wayne
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: real Low on my ship though I never listened like Low.
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: As far as we like. In the top five, I
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: think Lil Wayne and I love this my god. This
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: is I'm just letting you know. This is my guy. No,
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: this is my guy. Seventh the Carter two, I actually
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: think my personal favorite. I like the first Carter the

- 1:21:23Speaker 1: he might be the most overrated rapper ever. Here's we
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: stop this. Wait wait wait wait, wait wait, wait, and
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: allow me to say I think he's one of them. Okay,
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: you know what two bocks the most overrated wrapper. He
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: went deeper with the dig No no, no to me,
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: Little Wayne. For me, when I think of Wayne, I
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: think that he just put out a lot of bullshit
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: in the same way that I think of Eminem, Like
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: Eminem's put out so much terrible fucking up our music,
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: put out so much trash that we just don't even
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: think about what do you? Okay? The last time he
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: put out anything that was great was the first note. Listen,
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: wait wait wait. The last time Lil Wayne puts some
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: ship out that I was like, Yeah, Wayne's that motherfucker
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: was no ceilings. And that was in nine the Cardiff
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: fucking trash good records on the car. There's like two
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: good songs and good records, The and the and and
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: guess what. The best rapping on that album was on
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: the interludes when it was six okay, but also okay, okay, okay, fine,
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: great record, but that being said, Carter Ford can go
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: right in the fucking recycle Ben Okay, Now we're not
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: gonna do its. Great records, Carter five, I'll give you're
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: forgetting I Am Not a Human Being and the bullshit
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: rock album No, No, No No, because we still got
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: great records on No you got Drop the World with
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: Eminem Dropped the World is not I don't think that's
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: a great record, but you got No right above it's
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: on that with Drake. That's a great record. It's right
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: above it. I like that song. There's a great intro
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: to that HBO show that the rock Star. That's a fact.
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: That licensing and the licensed that too. Listen, that has
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: great records. You've got not only because we're not gonna
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: we're not gonna do this wing right, We're not waiting
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: this is and we're not gonna act like five hundred
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: degrees was good? Are we No, we're not counting that.
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: So all I'm gonna be with you? Are we gonna
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: go because I like the block is hot, the block
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: is great. The Carter one is lights out. Carter two,
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: like I said, is in my top five. I think
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: old time. Carter three is Are you starting Oda Wyne's
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: career at the first Carter No, I'm signing with the
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: block is hot because that's one of the block of
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: hot was great, lights out was whatever degree it was terrible.
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: There was a phase. Okay, Carter one was great, changed it.
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: Carter two we already no cemented. Carter three classic and
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: animost commercially successful. Do you find it interesting? By the way,
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: the new song he dropped the DMX sample the swizz
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: Bee is fire it? But what about the just deal
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: with a couple of five three to two one? That's
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: a great song. Sometimes a great record still put out good.
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: The verse he did with Nikki and Drake, he killed that.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: He's still putting out good. Let me let me versus
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: and good records he hasn't probably put out when we
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: look at his like, let me say, let me say
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: something about this because he's been here since he was sixteen.
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: You bring up a good point. He's forty one and
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: now you can critique hm. You bring up a good point.
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: But everybody. This is why we got to appreciate pac
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: even though he's not the best lyricists. And it's like
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: for me, everybody's different from me as a rapper. Pak
- 1:24:33Speaker 1: is but but influentially but let me let lyricists. But
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: I think Park's probably top two most influential, probably number one.
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: But the thing is to him, they the thing about
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: it is this for me personally, right, And this is
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: what I put Eminem, Lil Wayne and a variety of
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: other artists in the same category where they're very talented
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: and they're extreme. But let's say this though. For me, right, music,
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: growing up, music used to help me get through my
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: day and it was education. So like some of the
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: my favorite rappers are like a Z and like these
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: are things like and I listen to what he's saying,
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: and the ship that he's talking about is real ship.
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: Like it's actually education, Like I'm learning things, I'm hearing things.
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't know what that word means. He's
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: rapping about real ship. So when I hear rappers like googlet, no,
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: little Baby's rapping about real ship. That's what I'm trying
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: to tell you. Little Baby is nostalgic from the nineties
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: perspective when he when he's saying, like the ship that
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: he's talking about, he's actually rapping, like he's think Little
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: Baby is the most improved rapper we've ever seen in
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: real time he's saying, he's saying, like little Baby is
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: really rapping real lyrics that's coming out of his mouth.
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: My my thing with Lil Wayne has always been what
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: are you rapping about? I got six bathrooms like a
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: ship all day? Like you always use that line. I'm
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: just saying you like, that's the only line. I'm just saying,
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: like you rapping about things? You guys who have is
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: that's why? Like, that's why, like Ti I, because when
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: Ti I was rapping, it was real ship. Like I
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: can understand the words that he's saying. It makes sense
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: to me. He's telling the story. I'm getting it, you know. Also,
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: rapping about ship is Drake, No, Drake's rapping about ship, bro,
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: What is he rapping about beside ledges? That's that's it.
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: That's it. That's it. That's it. But it's but it's
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: still it's still it's still at least he's rapping about
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: something like Eminem and Wayne something is my dog. They
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: just they wrapped, they wrapped forty eight bar saying you
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: can find they haven't wrapped anything Lil Wayne has. True,
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: Lil Wayne has such an insane amount of music out
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: that it'd be unfair to us to say he doesn't
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: rap back. That's what I'm saying. If you go saying
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: as far as you go back to the car to four,
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: right is not a lyricist like haba love is on
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: that on that the album, right is he not talking
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: about like a real situation, that's realize ship. You could
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: you could take that one line. I could take I
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: could listen and not to say doctor k Boot wasn't.
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: Probably the best song is hard. That's just hard talk
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: about given instructions. That's a bad reference. That's a bad
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: referenced referenceample, it's a bad reference. You can find a
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: bar that's like, why do you say that? Listen? I
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: look listen. I have to say I love Lil Wayne.
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: I'm a fan of like a lot of Little Wayne music,
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: like most like I feel like dying is my ship.
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: But that's some. That's some. That's a mixtape. Ship mixtape Wayne.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: It's incredible. But I just had albums but I just think,
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: like when I think of Wayne and the way he's regarded,
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: I just don't know if the quality overall lines up
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: with someone like Hendrick lamar Or and it goes back
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: what you're wrapping about, what you're rapping about, even like
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: like I think of like d m X, who maybe
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: wasn't like I kind of look at X in the
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: same way that I look at Park. It was more
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: about the delivery, the content, how it may you feel,
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, Like DMX and Tupac are
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: two of the greatest of all time. Even know I
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: said what I said about Black, But I just like
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: when I think of little Wayne, I don't know a
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: time when litl Wayne has ever made me feel like ship.
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: I think of a time Jay Z's made me feel
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: that way. I think of a time Jake Coles made
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: me feel that And I don't you know, Jake Cole's
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: another one. Jake Cole's up there. He's up there. He's
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: another one who doesn't have a consensus classic. Even though
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: Forest Hills Drive is a classic to me and a
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: lot of people that he's wrapping about. I agree he's
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: up there. Like the fact he did a whole album
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: about like fucking people like this whole drug shit going
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: in nineteen whatever. I love different. He's legendary. Wortils drives
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: in credit like love your best one for sure, we
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: give him. He got a lot of records to his records.
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: Dope Clods one of the ones for sure. And for
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: what it's worth, this is a crazy statement to make,
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: but I've seen when Cole was touring whatever album that
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: was at the time was twenty sixteen, so it wasn't
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: it was the one that had neighbors on it. Your
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: Eyes Only, I think, yeah, that's yeah. I hated that album.
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: But when he was touring that album at the same time,
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: Kendrick was torn Dan I went to I went to
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: both both in La and j Cole. I'm telling you man,
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: when he came out with the prison suit he was
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: in the middle of I think Dave was fucking when
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: Cole had I went to both shows. I feel like
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: the energy at the Cole La show was like ten
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: times crazy. Kendrick show, that's crazy. Were just talking about
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: that show. That was a He put on a great performance.
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: Everything looked good, you could feel it. The passion was there.
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: It was like, yo, he has records that belonged in
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: arenas and along the stage. Kendrick has that too, Yeah,
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: but he's mastered now the stage presence. Like this last tour,
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: Kendrick took it to a different level. He took it
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: to it was like only only like we only seen
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: like Drake does it now because he has the money
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: to have all the pyro and have all the like, Oh,
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: it's crazy. Drake had that like basketball, the Cordy Court
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: and all that, Like he has the money now. It
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: didn't start that way, but like the first person I
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: obviously do that was yet for sure before you even
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: had the capital to do it. And that's a crazy thing.
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: We think about Jay's influence. How is it's live shows?
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: He had to When I went to the Glow and
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: the Dark tour, I went to Kanye's first tour, Brianna opened,
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: I was there. I went to Confession's tour and Drake no,
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: so that's his first tour for he was opening ads. Actually,
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: so my best friend's brother like my childhood best friends
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: brothers in a group called Dilated People's. So Dilated People's
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: had a song with Kanye called this Way, but they
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: also opened the College Dropout tour. So I actually went
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: as like a fifteen year old kid, went to like
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: four the dates when came out here to La went
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: to the House of Blues twice, and then when he
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: came to Phoenix, I got to meet Kanye backstage. But
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: that show was did you go to the college Dropout Show?
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: I didn't Confessions. So the first time I saw You
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: See a Consequence do Spaceship Live and he had the
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: hip hop Violini's chick out there, John Legend was just
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: up there, just on stage, just fucking like no one cared,
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: Like I'm telling you going to dark. That's when it
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: was like, this guy's different. He's different, and now you
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: can see it when you look at trave and he
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: got the roller coaster going through the crowd and like
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: he changed it. Then he had to floating stage for
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: the same Pablo, and I was like, no, this is
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: the greatest thing of it. I still haven't seen a
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: show that was better than that show. When he's floating,
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: and I'm like, that's art and now the guys are
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: doing it, they're seeing it, and like, all right, we
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: can take pieces of that in our own way and
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: be creative with it. So it's the stage a lot
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: of the stage. But it's like, let's get back to bars.
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: This is why I like being a butcher. This real ship.
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: He's rapped, he's real rap. Nipsey Hustle is nostalgic to
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: the era that I grew up on, where he's rapping
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: about things that are relatable, they're understandable. He's coherent when
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: he speaks. This is something that's important in rap music.
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: A lot of these rappers are not that. And when
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: we talk about the greatest of all time, you gotta
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: have that as a component because it's like, you could
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: be a great rapper, but what are you rapping about.
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: I think Wayne is one of the greatest of all time,
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: but he's to me, he's not in the top ten.
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: And I think everybody who talks about Wayne thinks he's
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: like number one. I think Wayne and Kobe are kind
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: of the same God rest Kobe soul, like Kobe fans
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: and little Wayne fans are very similar. You guys are
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: basketball fans. No, No No, what I'm about to say is
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: a fact. Listen, if you talk to somebody who loves
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: Kobe is the greatest basketball player, he's the goat or
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: he's the closest thing to Jordan because they jaded. They're jaded,
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: and also they don't watch a lot of basketball. Okay,
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: so if we're like like like where he really is
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: is like seven or eight, if maybe maybe not even
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: that he might there's a lot of publications that don't
- 1:32:53Speaker 1: have Kobe in the top ten, but I'm saying, like,
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: at best he's like seventh all time probably like probably,
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: And to me, that's like great, It's still a Kobe
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: Bryant over fucking Kareem Abuil. Listen when you start even
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: Tim Duncan, no, I'm putting moment when you say I'm
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: one thousand rings, two different dynasties on the same team.
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: Kobe's in two different dynasties. And as when you say that,
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: when you say that as a fact, did it work
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: with Manu? Was a Hall of Famer? Tony Parker's going
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: to the Hall of Fame. It's popa bitches going to
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: the Hall of Fame. Okay, So you're David Robinson's in
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: the Hall of Fame. David Robinson, you can't even come
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: the Hall of Famers, Okay, but relaxed on the David Robbins. Yeah,
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: but like how much did they play together? Tim Duncan
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: was where do you win? His first how about you? No?
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: Where do you win? His first show? It was the
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: lockout year? And who was on the team David who
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: was the best player on the team. This is my
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: thing with Cobe. Rest in peace, God bless God right there,
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: God bless I love Kobe Mamba mentality forever. You weren't
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: the best player on the team, Bro when on three
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: shock Bro three time, three time, the best player on
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: the final is what I would like to point out
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: about Kobe. He was the best player on the final
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: the last. Lebron was always the best play on point
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: out something specific every single Wait, wait a minute, because
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: I am a Lebron. This coms you, guys. Lebron's to me,
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: it's either him or Jordan, but that he's like, I'm
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: just using because they they some people, Lebron, They're fucking insane.
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: And I would like to point out, Okay, Shaquille O'Neal
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: leaves get to ring with d Wade in Miami, gets carried,
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: gets carried to her what was going on with the
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: Lakers at that time? They were they were they were
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: scratching into the playoffs as eight seeds and getting bounced
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: out by my Phoenix Suns in round one. He got
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: caught with a charge. That does he railed three years
- 1:34:42Speaker 1: in a row that effect. But who's he playing with? Chrisms? Okay, Okay,
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: so then then I'd like to circle let's circle back.
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: No disrespect of those guys. Two Lebron, Yeah, who got
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: to the finals in seven? The best of the to
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: do this? Ship man, Lebron, He's the He's the best.
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: I have a Lebron James toy right there, going got
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: to the finals in seven? Who was on his team?
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: Moe Williams All Star? What he he didn't make it
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: All Stars? He did? Listen, listen, listen, listen. We're not
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: this is what we're not going to. Okay, Look, that
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: was the worst team outside of Alan Eric, outside of
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: Alan I. That was the worst team ever to take
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: the NBA debate beat They beat the defending NBA champion.
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: He's the conference finals. The act that I not gonna
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: act like Lebron to have a terrible cast of characters
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: that he just every time. Why Marshall was on this
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: You're not going to do that. I think we're not
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: going to. That's what We're not going to down on y'all. Finished.
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: You could debate that or we could just stay fast.
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: Was Williams and all star? Yes once I believe what
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: time I'm because of Lebron and because of Lebron not finished?
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: What do you do without Leron? Also finished? Because of them?
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: You're about to say, oh god, they all stars? Right,
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: I'm just saying, who have a big man in the East.
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: I'm just saying fat Ben Wallace had two big men. No,
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: I'm just saying the team was terrible. The team was
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: just saying that those guys are all stars, right, Alan
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: and I m a team works. Now you go back
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: to that Laker team and you tell me the second
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: best player what Laker team? The what is he talking about?
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: That went to the finals? No? No, no, the teams
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: win exactly the final. I'm telling you the name of
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: that the next best player? He had A he had
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: Lebron J they have a good tell me the next
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: best player. Let's look, I'll tell you right now. If
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: you tell me MEVI think I'm out here, So would
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: we go? I'm out? And we'd agree that two thousand
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: and six o seven they were forty to and forty
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: and I think they were the eighth seed. So this
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: is where this is when they lost to the number
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: one seed. Sons correct the phoenix sense of Tim Thomas. Okay, okay,
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: wait a minute, Sim Thomas is on that team. Who
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: was on the team in six Andrew Biden was? That's
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: a fact. That is a fact. Was he the first
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: brown year? Okay? Okay, wait wait wait wait wait wait,
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: then we agree he was not all he's the first pick?
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: Can we agree at the very least picking what can
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: we agree? Can we agree that one of the greatest
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: role players and six men of all time before crack
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: hit him was lamar Odoms. That's a fact because he
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: was on the team. That's a fact. Anybody on that
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: on that Cavaliers team, that's a fact. Is better than
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: anybody on the get off fat, that's a fact. Always
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: better than anybody that caps. I saw Lebron fact. I
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: can't look at it. It does get bad. You got
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: fucking Edrew who was starting that's the starting guard. But
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: look at Lebron's Chris Mims is the starting center. Andrew.
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: If you're supposed to be better than Lebron, get out
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: of the fucking first round. If you're supposed to be
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: better Lebron win a championship, and he did that and
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: on nine and ten and he lost and old again
- 1:37:54Speaker 1: because Jerry West served him up. Paul fucking Gasaw on
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: a plate. No, the NBA did a disservice by not
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: letting them have Chris Paul, and that's how they got
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: powers because they felt bad and they should have done that. Right,
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: How do you how do you say you can't trade
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: them to this? I love Kobe, Kobe too, I love Kobe.
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: Tim duncans he's not better, No, no, no, Tim Duncan.
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: You want to talk about influence Tim Duncan has Can
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: we talk about zero Tim Duncan beating the finals? Tim
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: Duncan is the worst dress NBA player of all time?
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: Oh yeah, the worst geen? No, yeah he is. He's
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: worse than Jordan, but Jordan's jeans. Can we have a
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: Jordan's Jacobs. But Tim Duncan was sandals, bro. Yeah, he
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: never he never tried to cares exactly say he's just
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: the worst. Still the hell of a player. Yeah, no,
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: he's a Hall of Famer. He's probably top ten, he's
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: just not had a probably top ten. Yeah, probably impeccable.
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: His career hasn't been impeccable. No, he's he's a he's
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: a top ten. He's one of the top. Tim That's
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: what I'm saying. You're the best of your position, the
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: greatest of all time, and the zero discussion ascute as that, right,
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: If Michael Jordan's at the two guard position, okay you can,
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: oh you're nothing. Is the Michael Jordan of the power
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: forward position. The only person who's going to be the
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: lowest Jordan's Kobe, right, is the greatest of the two.
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: Kobe's the second best. You got Jordan in front of
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: who's he having in front of him? Who was chasingh
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: was Pa before Tim Duncan came along. It was Carmelo
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: and Karmelong. But then he's not even your top ten.
- 1:39:19Speaker 1: I mean he also two time MVP is not top ten.
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: I mean, I mean he twelve year old, you know
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: what I mean? That did happened? I'm so surprised by
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: the way the fact that they had that other very
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: up their judging the du contest with all he did
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: was anyway? Uh shot. Listen, man, what is what is
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: next for earn your leisure? When does this come out, Uh,
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: probably Wednesday next week. So we got a big show
- 1:39:45Speaker 1: in l A. You guys invited if you want to
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: come on show did marchin leven eleventh. That appreciate you.
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: Market Monday's Live. We're going to bring out a lot
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: of the surprises I got. You guys gotta complaint me
- 1:39:56Speaker 1: with the with the investor guy. You guys do Market
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: Mondays with he he's gonna be this. He's out here
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: right now. Yeah, for sure he's gonna be at the show.
- 1:40:03Speaker 1: So Market we got a lot. So we're doing a
- 1:40:05Speaker 1: world tour actually for Market Mondays and the first stop
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: is La. After La, we go to Toronto, then we
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: go to London, then we go to Chicago, then we
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: go to Ghana. So wow, that's dope man. Yeah. So
- 1:40:16Speaker 1: it's a live show, and our live shows are different.
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: It's not like a seminar like it's entertainment. It's theatrics,
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: is education, it's all of it. It's a vibe like
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: people wearing their best clothes like it's it's dope. You
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: gone it all? So no vote theater March eleventh dope.
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: And then you know, we got a bunch of differ stuff.
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: We're cooking up invest Fest. We were working on that.
- 1:40:38Speaker 1: We're gonna announce details on that. That's our financial literacy festival.
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: That saw a big, big, big thing that we're do
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: in Atlanta every year. So this year is gonna be
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: even bigger than it was last year. Actually we had
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: Tyler Perry, Steve Harvey. You had fourteen thousand people, So
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: this year we're looking for twenty thousand. So yeah, it's
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: gonna be crazy. Yeah, three thousand, fourteen, twenty thousand, and then,
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: you know, just just a bunch of other things. Man, Content,
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: more content, more ways to know, expand on the education
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: with a podcast network, so Earlyer Leaders and media company
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: we have we produced podcasts. You guys have podcasts under
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: the umbrella. Yeah, seven shows on the Umbrella. They're all
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: doing well. So yeah, man, just just looking to just
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: to keep expanding. Who do you guys want to interview
- 1:41:14Speaker 1: that you haven't interviewed yet in terms of I mean,
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: obviously we know you want to interview Drake, you want
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: to interview Lil Wayne, But I mean I mean in
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: terms that you guys think you could have some Like
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: I think the Ross interview was incredible because she guys
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: kind of went over some of the franchise shit, and
- 1:41:29Speaker 1: I think you know you and the Russell made a
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: lot of sense in terms of like what y'all do.
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: Who's somebody you guys really want to talk to? I
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: always say, and I'll say until he sits next to us,
- 1:41:37Speaker 1: and I think it's gonna happen. Sean Carter, I think
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: jay Z makes a lot of sense. Worse, I think
- 1:41:42Speaker 1: that's the one, right, Yeah, just from a standpoint of
- 1:41:44Speaker 1: where we started, especially you know, writing financial literacy lesson plans,
- 1:41:48Speaker 1: It started with him and that line that he had
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: in Reasonable Doubt, which is his first album obviously all
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: Black Scottish Sports and Entertainment until he even and so
- 1:41:57Speaker 1: just just peeling that line upon a part in dissecting
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: it and really seeing like, wait, let's try to debunk this.
- 1:42:04Speaker 1: Let's try to show value in other different ways outside
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: of those two things, to show that we can be
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: anything we really want if we had the education and
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: the resources around it. Just having him there from that
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: line to this, I think definitely my number one. That
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: would be crazy, Yeah, I think, you know, just thinking
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: on a bigger scale, possible Elon Musk Jeff Bezo's Allego
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: Dan Goti, who's the richest black person in the world,
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: and the Nigeria Warren Buffett. The Musk thing could happen.
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: Elon Muther think it definitely could happen. I feel like
- 1:42:33Speaker 1: it's just about you know, him being aware of it
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: in the right space. It's like Kanye, I feel like
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: you'll do anything if it's just depending how he wakes
- 1:42:40Speaker 1: up in the morning, you know what I mean. But
- 1:42:41Speaker 1: the Elon, I think, will that'll break the Internet? Did
- 1:42:44Speaker 1: you guys, like, do you like? I mean, what do
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: you guys feel about Twitter? Since he's taken over. I
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: was never really huge on Twitter. I appreciate Twitter because
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: it's like you just go in there and just say
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: you're random thoughts and get off. Like it doesn't I
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: use it for like sports news and like random shit.
- 1:43:01Speaker 1: It's it's not as addictive as Instagram for me, right,
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: So I appreciate Twitter. I think, you know, I don't
- 1:43:07Speaker 1: see anything bad. I just feel like Elon's like we're
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: just kind of like watching the trial and era of
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: like this really rich duge just out firing eighty percent
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: of the staff and then figuring it out on the fly.
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: So it's kind of cool that it's like to me,
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: it's like kind of cool to be like this motherfucker's
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: so rich. He's just using this shit as like, yeah,
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: there's another asset, and then it'll be a private company
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: and it'll be you know, we'll figure out what he
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: does with it. But it's a place for people to
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: It's a new form of news for a generation. Right,
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: Like we used to have to I used to read
- 1:43:35Speaker 1: the newspaper, right well, I used to watch the news,
- 1:43:37Speaker 1: and now it's like people just go to their phone.
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: It's like, oh, no, tweet, something just happened in the world, right,
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: I mean, though, last question, let's say someone's got ten
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: grand saved up. You guys have covered a bunch of
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: industries on your show, whether it's the vending machine hustle,
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: or the trucking shit or there's so many ways people
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: can get my If you guys were talking to some
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: who had ten thousand dollars of like, not that's not
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: all the money they had, but they got ten grand
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: to start a business with, or to try to invest
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: or how would you suggest them what would you have
- 1:44:12Speaker 1: them do with that ten grand? If you're advising, the
- 1:44:16Speaker 1: first thing is to formulate a plan before you just
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: really think about what you want to do. Right, Because
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: you could do vendor machines, you can buy some stock,
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: you can depend on what part of the country, then
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: you could potentially buy real estate. But it's going to
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: be hard to do anything successful if you don't really
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: have a plan in place. So I would say, before
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: you do anything, educate yourself, sit down with a pen
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: and paper and physically write out a plan of like
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: what you think is your best option. And then from there,
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: like I said, you could do either one of those things.
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: But you've always invest in stocks with very low amount
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: of money. You can invest in stocks one thousand dollars,
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: so if you want to just put now, you're not
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: going to turn that ten thousand to a million, but
- 1:44:57Speaker 1: at least it'll be working for you over the course
- 1:44:59Speaker 1: of time. If you want to start a business, like
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: you said some low costing businesses you have mentioned vending machines,
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: you can definitely start that business for under ten thousand dollars.
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: So you guys say you got five at your school
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: you went to, Yeah, yeah, it's pretty profitable too, and
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: it brings in like thirty five hundred a month. Something
- 1:45:16Speaker 1: like that that's great. Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, it's one
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: of those things. Man. It was like there was an
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: opportunity there. It's something that we know it was needed.
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: The school didn't have any you guys just hire someone
- 1:45:26Speaker 1: to go refill it things right there. He runs the
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: Vendom machine business for us. But it was a great
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: way to give back to our school. You know, we
- 1:45:33Speaker 1: didn't see anybody doing anything like that. And the best
- 1:45:36Speaker 1: part is that we give a percentage of every month
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: of the revenue we give back to the senior class.

- 1:45:47Speaker 1: the prom cost was, or what the yearbook was or
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: senior dudes give money to the senior class so they
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: don't need to have bake sales and they don't have
- 1:45:53Speaker 1: to have these raffles. Right, they're actually creating that economy.
- 1:45:57Speaker 1: The kids that are in the school spend money in
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: the ven machine, every piece of that, and everybody's going
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: to be a senior at some point and so everybody benefits.
