- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I almost famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Well, hey, everybody, welcome to an old new episode of
- 0:07Speaker 2: help we saw. Wait a minute, Wait a minute, This
- 0:12Speaker 2: isn't where I parked my car. This is the almost
- 0:16Speaker 2: famous podcast with Ben and Ashley. Is it Ben and
- 0:19Speaker 2: n Ashley or Ashley?
- 0:20Speaker 3: In Ben, Ben and Ashley. By the way, this is Jared,
- 0:23Speaker 3: Ashley and Ben podcast. Would sound so weird, But that
- 0:26Speaker 3: is a great point, bait, because do you usually do
- 0:29Speaker 3: an alphabetical order? Because when people refer to us, do
- 0:33Speaker 3: you think it's Ashley and Jared or Jared and Nashley.
- 0:35Speaker 2: No, it's Ashley and Jared because you were powerful and
- 0:37Speaker 2: obviously Yeah whatever, Rob, It's okay.
- 0:45Speaker 3: What do you think that? Is there any sort of
- 0:48Speaker 3: theory as to whose name comes first and not in
- 0:50Speaker 3: this situation? Because I do agree with you Ben as
- 0:52Speaker 3: the batman, do you think that usually you put your
- 0:57Speaker 3: friend first? Like say, like we're talking about your friend
- 1:00Speaker 3: Jimmy and Tory. Do you say Jimmy and Tory? You
- 1:03Speaker 3: say Tory and Jimmy. That with Torri and Jimmy would
- 1:05Speaker 3: sound weird. I said Jimmy, And that's because the j
- 1:07Speaker 3: comes before the t No, I think so, or do
- 1:12Speaker 3: you put your friend first? Which and that in your
- 1:14Speaker 3: case it's Jimmy.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Let's put my friend first.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Okay, well, no, that Tory is not your friend, but
- 1:19Speaker 3: that's his wife who became friends.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Crystal. Crystal and Kenny.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Say Crystal and Kenny.
- 1:24Speaker 2: You say Kenny and Crystal?
- 1:25Speaker 3: Like do I say Kenny?
- 1:26Speaker 2: I say Kenny Crystal? Huh? Anyway, Welcome to the almost
- 1:31Speaker 2: famous podcast thanks Giving Day edition. We hope you were
- 1:35Speaker 2: having a wonderful holiday. If you want to just get
- 1:37Speaker 2: away from the family a little bit, they're just driving
- 1:39Speaker 2: your nuts. You need to put some headphones in. Listen
- 1:41Speaker 2: to a good podcast, just like listen don't be a
- 1:44Speaker 2: chair can put an hour podcast on, You're gonna put
- 1:46Speaker 2: like a ten minute podcast on, which is exactly what's
- 1:49Speaker 2: happening right now for all you bachelor lovers out there.
- 1:53Speaker 2: First of all, thank you so much for listening to podcasts.
- 1:55Speaker 2: If you haven't listened to help, we suck at being
- 1:57Speaker 2: newly ed, you can check that out.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Change the name of that podcast, perhaps because moving well
- 2:03Speaker 3: not a newlywed?
- 2:05Speaker 2: How long are newly went for?
- 2:07Speaker 3: One year?
- 2:08Speaker 2: First of all, that's not factual.
- 2:09Speaker 3: This is it is.
- 2:10Speaker 2: It's an invisible line.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Okay, what is the definition? Is the googling here if
- 2:16Speaker 3: people what's the definition of the newlywed?
- 2:19Speaker 2: I would love to know.
- 2:20Speaker 3: It's one year?
- 2:21Speaker 2: First of all, I thought the newlywed stage is over after.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Three months, So you know, is that a dig at me? No,
- 2:28Speaker 3: you're rude.
- 2:29Speaker 2: A recently married person is the definition? So it really
- 2:32Speaker 2: depends on your definition of recent. What is the definition
- 2:36Speaker 2: of recent.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Newly married?
- 2:39Speaker 2: Oh?
- 2:40Speaker 3: Married is zero to five years? Oh, that's newly that
- 2:44Speaker 3: newly married? That is not that's ridiculous. Five years, absolutely not.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Okay, Lily years is up to twenty. So you're telling
- 2:52Speaker 2: me somebody who they say six to twenty five, So
- 2:54Speaker 2: you're telling me that somebody twenty five, somebody who's married
- 2:56Speaker 2: twenty four years. That's middle. Get the hell out of here. Anyway,
- 3:00Speaker 2: Welcome to the Thanksgiving Day edition. What are we doing today?
- 3:02Speaker 2: We're eating watching the Macy's Day Parade. Very excited about that.
- 3:06Speaker 3: So Jared is a parade person, and my family finds
- 3:09Speaker 3: it endearing and maybe a little bit No, your family
- 3:13Speaker 3: find it endearing and just we've never really made a
- 3:15Speaker 3: point to watch the Thanksgiving Day parade or any parade
- 3:19Speaker 3: except for maybe when I was like in elementary school,
- 3:21Speaker 3: and I think that's like what you were. I was like, oh,
- 3:23Speaker 3: that's what you should do, Like I gotta watch the
- 3:25Speaker 3: parade or like the Jonah Spillers are playing in the parade,
- 3:27Speaker 3: so I gotta put the parade on.
- 3:28Speaker 2: I think that's sirens like my holiday spirit, only up
- 3:32Speaker 2: to a point, because because.
- 3:33Speaker 3: They're like, we do not need the parade on, but
- 3:35Speaker 3: they also think it's endearing because like it's something that
- 3:38Speaker 3: you make a point of watching.
- 3:39Speaker 2: You also don't need to watch Christmas Vacation again.
- 3:42Speaker 3: However, I don't know, but because last night my I
- 3:45Speaker 3: was trying to put it on. Were you gonna? Were
- 3:46Speaker 3: you excited?
- 3:47Speaker 2: No, I wouldn't have watched it last night.
- 3:48Speaker 3: We need to?
- 3:49Speaker 2: Why not because it's just like we'll wait, we.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Watched JFK Conspiracy Theory documentary night.
- 3:54Speaker 2: If I want to watch the movie, you know, like
- 3:56Speaker 2: that's a movie I love watching. Yeah, I don't want
- 3:58Speaker 2: to be able to watch it, Okay, I don't want
- 3:59Speaker 2: to falsely fifteen minutes.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Okay, Well, we had to agree on something last night,
- 4:03Speaker 3: and this is like something that you experience with your
- 4:05Speaker 3: family and the holidays.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Yeah, agreeing on just agreeing on what to.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Watch green, on what to eat? Jared, what is your
- 4:14Speaker 3: favorite food at Thanksgiving?
- 4:16Speaker 2: Stopping stuffing?
- 4:18Speaker 3: Yeah, but so here's a point in which Jared and
- 4:21Speaker 3: I really differ. Jared likes stovetop stuffing. He believes that
- 4:25Speaker 3: this is actual stuffing. And my dad makes his traditional
- 4:31Speaker 3: like he has like a stuff grain that's been passed
- 4:33Speaker 3: down my grandmother. My dad has the greatest stuffing. Ever,
- 4:37Speaker 3: last year's patch wasn't the greatest. He only makes it
- 4:40Speaker 3: the one time of year, which I guess people kind
- 4:42Speaker 3: of do, except for your family. This is something I
- 4:44Speaker 3: never did in my family. But I know it's traditional,
- 4:47Speaker 3: and I know that we're kind of the weird ones.
- 4:48Speaker 3: But also you have stuffing during Christmas dinner too.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Yeah, most of our stuff is mind believable because my
- 4:53Speaker 2: my family doesn't really cook all that well. But that's wild.
- 4:55Speaker 2: It's still tough. Your dad's stuffing, maybe it wasn't as
- 4:59Speaker 2: good last year because he's only making it once a year,
- 5:02Speaker 2: so he's not practicing it anymore. Maybe he's making a
- 5:06Speaker 2: couple of times a year really perfected. Leading up to Thanksgiving,
- 5:09Speaker 2: because if you make it once a year, that's the batch.
- 5:12Speaker 2: It would be like if we went running once a
- 5:15Speaker 2: year and we expect to run a mile an under
- 5:17Speaker 2: eight minutes, Like, well, that's not happening. It once a year.
- 5:19Speaker 3: But my dad's one batch, even though it wasn't his
- 5:22Speaker 3: greatest batch of all time, was far better than the
- 5:24Speaker 3: stovetop stuffing.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Hmm, debatable.
- 5:27Speaker 3: It's very good, but Jared Jared likes this. He likes
- 5:30Speaker 3: the stovetop because of the nostalgia, the taste. You actually
- 5:34Speaker 3: like the taste more.
- 5:35Speaker 2: You know what I was we were talking about in
- 5:37Speaker 2: the podcast earlier, which is like, what's the most overrated
- 5:41Speaker 2: uh Thanksgiving?
- 5:43Speaker 3: You were talking about on your help. I sat at
- 5:45Speaker 3: being really.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Let's yes that podcast with Dad.
- 5:47Speaker 3: And given you're such a good promoter.
- 5:51Speaker 2: So I think that the most overrated food at Thanksgiving
- 5:56Speaker 2: is turkey.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Turkey sucks, guys, person of all doesn't suck. So just
- 6:01Speaker 3: letting you know that. My parents called earlier and they
- 6:03Speaker 3: were like getting the turkey and the other groceries and
- 6:06Speaker 3: they're like, there's slice turkey brust here. I like, how
- 6:09Speaker 3: do you feel about that? And I was like, well,
- 6:11Speaker 3: I like turkey sandwiches. No for like the turkey to
- 6:15Speaker 3: plate it tomorrow. Oh. And then they were like, they
- 6:18Speaker 3: were like, but how's Jared get to feel? And I
- 6:21Speaker 3: was like, he'd probably be a little disappointed just because
- 6:23Speaker 3: of the traditional sense. And I was like, but he's
- 6:24Speaker 3: willing to make the turkey tomorrow and you are. I am,
- 6:28Speaker 3: so now you're going to I offered you up last
- 6:30Speaker 3: night in front of you, and you said you would.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Well, it's just trying to be nice.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Oh, you don't want to do it. You don't want
- 6:35Speaker 3: to do it.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Too late to doing it. But the reason I say
- 6:39Speaker 2: turkey because I can. I love mashed potatoes by itself,
- 6:43Speaker 2: I love stuffing by itself, but with turkey. The reason
- 6:47Speaker 2: I love turkey so much is when I have a
- 6:49Speaker 2: fork that has turkey on it, stuffing, gravy, cranberry, sauce,
- 6:54Speaker 2: like some sort of mixture of that.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Yeah, so you need your fork to have the turkey,
- 6:59Speaker 3: the stuffing in the mass potato on it. And I
- 7:01Speaker 3: totally agree. I could do it with al even the turkey.
- 7:04Speaker 3: I just am not a big meat person, you know.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Speaking of meat again, something we talked about in the podcast.
- 7:21Speaker 2: It's time for it's time for in the near future
- 7:24Speaker 2: me to kill and eat an animal.
- 7:26Speaker 3: No, have you want to do this?
- 7:29Speaker 2: I want to do it now because I want to
- 7:31Speaker 2: do it. But I feel hypocritical for you.
- 7:33Speaker 3: No, Jared, I know, but I'd rather just have to
- 7:35Speaker 3: become vegetarians.
- 7:37Speaker 2: But I'm not going to.
- 7:38Speaker 3: You would rather kill the animal and then become a vegetarian.
- 7:42Speaker 3: No what, that's what you just said, Like you'd rather
- 7:46Speaker 3: go through the process of doing the killing and the
- 7:47Speaker 3: eating than just become a vegetarian, which I actually don't
- 7:50Speaker 3: even think would be very difficult for me outside just
- 7:53Speaker 3: like your casual taco bell pocas or smashburgers. Smash Burgers
- 7:59Speaker 3: are all we said. The number one thing from.
- 8:01Speaker 2: The point being is that we eat meat. We eat
- 8:06Speaker 2: meat all the time, and I feel like, as a
- 8:10Speaker 2: human being who eats meat, I feel like it's only right,
- 8:13Speaker 2: honestly that I have the experience of hunting my own food,
- 8:18Speaker 2: not hunting. But you know, the you know, what are
- 8:21Speaker 2: you going to do? I don't know. I haven't thought
- 8:22Speaker 2: too far ahead. I was just thinking about it today.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Did you come up with this or did Dean come
- 8:27Speaker 3: up with this?
- 8:27Speaker 2: Since Dean and of course Dean was on the same boat.
- 8:30Speaker 3: I'm sure the Dean's probably already done it.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Well, it's because we went to this fair whatever it
- 8:36Speaker 2: was a month ago or so, not a fair, but whatever.
- 8:39Speaker 2: We talked, took Dawson too, and had the outdoors slides and.
- 8:42Speaker 3: It was super far.
- 8:44Speaker 2: Yeah there's pigs there. Yeah, the pigs are adorable. And
- 8:47Speaker 2: I had bacon earlier today, and it's like, who am
- 8:51Speaker 2: I to feel some way towards pigs but then also
- 8:55Speaker 2: eat that?
- 8:56Speaker 3: Okay, But my question to you now is like, if
- 8:59Speaker 3: you feel that way, my natural steering is towards just
- 9:05Speaker 3: not eating it versus it will never happen.
- 9:08Speaker 2: It will never I know, it will never happen for me.
- 9:11Speaker 2: So I mean not by choice unless there was some
- 9:13Speaker 2: sort of necessity to it. But to give up.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Turkey chicken, I'm fine giving up pork, and I'm fine
- 9:22Speaker 3: giving up all bird. I don't need any bird. It's
- 9:25Speaker 3: just it's this is so gra it's graphic, but it's
- 9:28Speaker 3: like the cow. It's the cow that I that I
- 9:31Speaker 3: would have a hard time giving up. M Yeah, yeah,
- 9:35Speaker 3: that's it's just because I want my beef and my
- 9:37Speaker 3: tacos and I want my smash burgers. All right, well,
- 9:40Speaker 3: is there any more? What's your favorite side dish? Jared?
- 9:42Speaker 3: Because we have to get a little bit brighter here.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Color this podcast up a little bit. Uh, favorite side dish?
- 9:48Speaker 3: Oh?
- 9:50Speaker 2: My favorite? Okay?
- 9:51Speaker 3: What's your favorite dessert? My bad?
- 9:53Speaker 2: On Thanksgiving? Yeah, definitely apple pie.
- 9:57Speaker 3: So I wish I liked apple pie or really any
- 9:59Speaker 3: ttional Thanksgiving pie because I only like chocolate. Cream pie
- 10:05Speaker 3: is the only kind of pie I like. Because I
- 10:07Speaker 3: feel like all my desserts must have chocolate in them.
- 10:10Speaker 3: I can't think of one dessert that I'd say like, oh,
- 10:13Speaker 3: I'd pick that over something with chocolate, and absolutely not.
- 10:18Speaker 2: It really depends. I mean, obviously chocolate might go to
- 10:20Speaker 2: but cheesecake obviously I don't loveche I don't love cake.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Apple pie, apple crisp, like banana pudding's good. I would
- 10:28Speaker 2: never choose it over chocolate or anything like that. But
- 10:31Speaker 2: there's some good desserts out there that don't involve chocolate.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Having said that, of course, chocolate is the top tier
- 10:37Speaker 2: the Tom Brady desserts.
- 10:39Speaker 3: So Jared and I differ very much in our just
- 10:44Speaker 3: our food habits. Like I plan dinner basically during dinner
- 10:48Speaker 3: the night before. I look forward to it. When I
- 10:51Speaker 3: go to a city, I'm like, I want to make
- 10:54Speaker 3: sure that I hit that spot and hit that spot because.
- 10:56Speaker 2: For example, when we were landing, We're in Virginia for Thanksgiving,
- 10:59Speaker 2: real landing and circling around the airport because of weather,
- 11:03Speaker 2: and I was nervous that I just wanted the plane
- 11:05Speaker 2: to land. She's like, text my.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Dad, what's for dinner? As the dinner plan?
- 11:10Speaker 2: What's the dinner planet? I said, can we just and
- 11:12Speaker 2: then I.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Sent it and it don't even realize how nervous you
- 11:16Speaker 3: are up there.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Yeah, because I had it well.
- 11:18Speaker 3: But then I don't even know, Babe. I'm so sorry,
- 11:20Speaker 3: except I do know when we're landing, and then you
- 11:24Speaker 3: grab Dawson and I like it could be our last
- 11:26Speaker 3: moments together, you never know. While Dawson's looking out the
- 11:30Speaker 3: window and he's loving every second, and then we land
- 11:33Speaker 3: and then he does his sign, his hand language sign
- 11:36Speaker 3: and goes more like, bro, we.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Ain't going back in the air right now, we are
- 11:40Speaker 2: on the ground. We're fine. It was a little bit
- 11:43Speaker 2: of a rough landing. There was some weather, so we
- 11:46Speaker 2: were circling the airport for quite some time waiting for
- 11:48Speaker 2: the weather of the past, and of course, like in
- 11:50Speaker 2: the back of my head, it's like, we do have
- 11:52Speaker 2: enough gas, right, Well.
- 11:54Speaker 3: The pilot came on and said we have enough gas,
- 11:57Speaker 3: which always say, good question, why don't they just fuel
- 12:00Speaker 3: up for a couple of trips? Like, why don't did
- 12:02Speaker 3: just always have like a full tank.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Because gas costs money? Actually, what do.
- 12:06Speaker 3: You mean it's gonna stay in the tank anyway. It's
- 12:09Speaker 3: just like a car.
- 12:10Speaker 2: If you say something something to save money.
- 12:16Speaker 3: There has to be I was like, well, this is
- 12:18Speaker 3: only an hour flight. Why of course I'm not worried
- 12:21Speaker 3: about the amount of fuel you had unless you put
- 12:23Speaker 3: in only two hours worth of fuel. That's weird, very weird,
- 12:27Speaker 3: all right, So I was as I was saying, we
- 12:29Speaker 3: have different differences in food. I love food. I definitely
- 12:34Speaker 3: like live to eat. Jared definitely eats to live. He
- 12:39Speaker 3: eats so that he can continue to watch a Dawson
- 12:42Speaker 3: grow and see whatever Superman movie is gonna come out
- 12:45Speaker 3: in the next four years.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Okay, So.
- 12:52Speaker 3: When we go to La next week, is there any
- 12:55Speaker 3: food that we had or any restaurant we tended to
- 12:58Speaker 3: that you want to make a point on go no, I.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Have no, I haven't thought about it. I'm not going
- 13:05Speaker 2: to think about it. I mean, if you want to
- 13:07Speaker 2: go to Wallburgers or something because that was near our house.
- 13:10Speaker 3: We never used to even get Wahburgers when it was
- 13:12Speaker 3: near our house because it doesn't deliver.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Well, what food do you want?
- 13:15Speaker 3: Well, I mean there's Easy Street Smash Burgers that's out
- 13:18Speaker 3: by the iHeart Studio, and then there's I had, Oh
- 13:21Speaker 3: my gosh, Takaya. Oh my god, I used to love
- 13:24Speaker 3: when we used to get to Kaya. You know those
- 13:26Speaker 3: taco bawls. No, you don't remember, Okay, So I got
- 13:30Speaker 3: that when last time I was out there, and then
- 13:34Speaker 3: just basically anything that we ate, okay, yeah, so Ben
- 13:39Speaker 3: and I will be doing six podcasts while we're out there.
- 13:41Speaker 3: We're really excited that we're going to be going to
- 13:43Speaker 3: jingle Ball, and we also have this iHeart Nobou dinner,
- 13:49Speaker 3: which is so fancy and so la and something I
- 13:52Speaker 3: haven't done in quite some time with a whole bunch
- 13:54Speaker 3: of iHeart podcast hosts. So Ben and I will be
- 13:57Speaker 3: recapping all of those fest civities that we have upcoming
- 14:02Speaker 3: in La next week, and I just love that we've
- 14:04Speaker 3: been getting together with Ben so frequently.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it's been really nice.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Yeah, he's just he's just a best friend.
- 14:10Speaker 2: He's a good mom, a good mom. I got a
- 14:13Speaker 2: golf of them sometimes.
- 14:14Speaker 3: You really do. Maybe you should do that on like
- 14:16Speaker 3: Thursday or Saturday, and you and Nick shud in him
- 14:19Speaker 3: to golf because we need to see. Oh, Indean's going
- 14:22Speaker 3: to be there. So there we go. You guys should
- 14:24Speaker 3: all go out and golf doesn't gough. Oh I golfed
- 14:29Speaker 3: with him once and doesn't like it. He's a lefty too, Oh,
- 14:32Speaker 3: so he doesn't like it.
- 14:33Speaker 2: It explains a lot.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Well, we're excited to bring Dawson over to Nick Natalie's
- 14:39Speaker 3: house too, because you know they'll get a taste of
- 14:41Speaker 3: what's to come.
- 14:42Speaker 4: What's to come Nick, Yeah, Uncle, he's so much an
- 14:47Speaker 4: uncle Nick to us, like such an uncle Nick, Like
- 14:49Speaker 4: there's you know, there's certain friends that you designate like
- 14:51Speaker 4: the whole again and uncle thing too.
- 14:53Speaker 3: But I have no problem saying, like Dawson, that's Uncle Nick.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Nick.
- 15:00Speaker 3: All right, So guys, we love you and Uncle Ben.
- 15:04Speaker 3: You're and Uncle Ben as well, and you'll see Dawson.
- 15:07Speaker 3: It's been too long to see them too, and we've
- 15:09Speaker 3: missed you today, Ben, and we've missed you for headlines
- 15:12Speaker 3: in the Sydney Interview. But we we wish the best
- 15:17Speaker 3: Thanksgiving to all our wonderful listeners out there, and to
- 15:20Speaker 3: our wonderful producers and the iHeart teams. Love you guys
- 15:23Speaker 3: so much. Enjoy a couple of relaxing gays, Happy Thanksgiving,
- 15:26Speaker 3: Hoppy Thanksgiving. Bye.
