  Speaker 1: first verse. He says. After this, there was a feast

  Speaker 1: of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Amen, hallelujah.

  Speaker 1: It's just amazing how the Bible just tracks all the
• 7:18
  Speaker 1: movements and the activities of Jesus Christ. Because Jesus is

  Speaker 1: the center of everything. Jesus is the creator. Jesus is

  Speaker 1: the object of creation. He created all things for his
• 7:34
  Speaker 1: own pleasure. And so we need a heart, we need
• 7:38
  Speaker 1: a spirit, We need the sensitivity of the spirit to
• 7:43
  Speaker 1: be sensitive to the movements of Jesus in our lives. Amen. Now,

  Speaker 1: this feast could have been either the Passover or maybe
• 7:59
  Speaker 1: another Pilgrim feasts. They had multiple feasts where the whole
• 8:05
  Speaker 1: nation would come and gather in Jerusalem. Amen, almost like
• 8:10
  Speaker 1: a family reunion. How awesome would that be if America
• 8:16
  Speaker 1: would do this, if we would have a feast to
• 8:19
  Speaker 1: where we would all gather as a nation and come
• 8:23
  Speaker 1: together as one. But the focus is not on the
• 8:29
  Speaker 1: feast itself, It's on Jesus and the work of Jesus
• 8:37
  Speaker 1: Christ in the midst. Sometimes we focus on events, but
• 8:43
  Speaker 1: Jesus brings the real purpose into every gathering. And we
• 8:50
  Speaker 1: say that again. Sometimes you think the focus is on
• 8:55
  Speaker 1: the event itself. You look at how many people show
• 8:59
  Speaker 1: up up, we look at the lights and the music,
• 9:03
  Speaker 1: and I'm speaking from experience. I'm talking about myself, as
• 9:08
  Speaker 1: we know, I've always shared. You know, we opened up
• 9:12
  Speaker 1: of His hot back in twenty twelve and we had
• 9:16
  Speaker 1: the building for six and a half almost seven years.

  Speaker 1: We did events every month and some events were packed
• 9:24
  Speaker 1: out and some events was nothing but empty chairs. And

  Speaker 1: it's very humbling to have artists come from out the

  Speaker 1: States and have an empty building. But you know what,

  Speaker 1: they would steal Minister with all of their hearts because

  Speaker 1: they knew that God was there. They knew that if

  Speaker 1: nobody else showed up, Jesus was there and we were there.

  Speaker 1: He is the focus. And what that means is we
• 9:59
  Speaker 1: can always He's always looking for us. If we're there

  Speaker 1: worship being God, then it was not a waste of time. Amen.

  Speaker 1: And we believe that seeds were planted. You may not
• 10:15
  Speaker 1: see right now, but in eternity we believe that seeds

  Speaker 1: were planted. Some plant some water, and some reaped the harvest.

  Speaker 1: Now there is in Jerusalem by the sheep gate a

  Speaker 1: pool which is called in Hebrew. But they is done

  Speaker 1: having five porches, and these lay a great multitude of
• 10:49
  Speaker 1: sick people. Now, just imagine that it would look like
• 10:54
  Speaker 1: either a hospital or a lot of people were laid up.

  Speaker 1: It would have been as like to see all these
• 11:01
  Speaker 1: sick people that were laid up. And it wasn't just
• 11:06
  Speaker 1: a few. It said a great multitude. So who knows
• 11:10
  Speaker 1: how many people were there by this pool? And it
• 11:17
  Speaker 1: said that the blind, the lame in, the paralyzed, waiting
• 11:21
  Speaker 1: for the moving of the water. Now, but there's the
• 11:33
  Speaker 1: means in Hebrew house of mercy. The sick gathered there
• 11:41
  Speaker 1: because they had hopes of being healed. It was a
• 11:44
  Speaker 1: place of hope for them. Now people are still gathering
• 11:48
  Speaker 1: today in houses of hope right, searching for healing, searching
• 11:55
  Speaker 1: to be touched. But true healing is in Christ Jesus. Amen.

  Speaker 1: I've heard of people that would go and minister shout
• 12:10
  Speaker 1: out to the ministers and hospitals and those who go
• 12:15
  Speaker 1: out to the sick and the shut in as they say,
• 12:18
  Speaker 1: and minister because they're real and only hope is in
• 12:22
  Speaker 1: Jesus Christ. Now I'm gonna throw a question out there.

  Speaker 1: This always puzzled me, and this is just me. This
• 12:30
  Speaker 1: is just a way I'm thinking, like, Okay, here's a pool,
• 12:37
  Speaker 1: the pool Bethesda, right in Israel. Here's a multitude of
• 12:45
  Speaker 1: sick people. And if I'm not mistaken, this pool is
• 12:53
  Speaker 1: we're gonna read. I believe it's only like stirred once
• 12:58
  Speaker 1: a year, and only the first person that gets in
• 13:02
  Speaker 1: it is gonna get healed. Okay, why not make it
• 13:09
  Speaker 1: so that everybody can get healed and jump in the pool.
• 13:13
  Speaker 1: All you have to do is jump and submerge yourselves
• 13:16
  Speaker 1: in the pool. The whole multitude you can jump in
• 13:19
  Speaker 1: there at the same time. Right, And why just once
• 13:24
  Speaker 1: a year? I don't know. I just that's just me.

  Speaker 1: But of course God does things in order and there's
• 13:33
  Speaker 1: always a reason for it. I don't know. Maybe, well,

  Speaker 1: let's ask Holy Spirit, can you give us revelation and
• 13:43
  Speaker 1: just break it down why it was set up that way?

  Speaker 1: And we would love to get that revelation before the
• 13:51

  Speaker 1: and stirred up the water. So maybe it's more than

  Speaker 1: that an angel. And I'm wondering who is this angel?

  Speaker 1: Obviously it was an angel of healing possibly or something
• 15:03
  Speaker 1: to do with the water. Then whoever stepped in first?

  Speaker 1: Now this was almost like a race, and a lot
• 15:13
  Speaker 1: of these I mean, you got paralyzed people that are there, like,
• 15:16
  Speaker 1: how are they going to get in there first? After
• 15:20
  Speaker 1: the stirring of the water was made. Let me see, then,
• 15:26
  Speaker 1: whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water
• 15:29
  Speaker 1: was made well of whatever disease he had. Now, a
• 15:36
  Speaker 1: certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty eight years. Now,
• 15:42
  Speaker 1: I'm willing to assume that for thirty eight years he
• 15:50
  Speaker 1: was not able to be the first one. As a
• 15:52
  Speaker 1: matter of fact, he complains about it. Now. When Jesus
• 15:56
  Speaker 1: saw him laying there and knew that he already he
• 16:00
  Speaker 1: had been in this condition a long time, he said
• 16:04
  Speaker 1: to him, do you want to be made? Well? Wow,
• 16:09
  Speaker 1: that's powerful, that's amazing. Jesus knew that he had the virtue,
• 16:16
  Speaker 1: he knew he had the power. He knew that he
• 16:19
  Speaker 1: was the answer to this man's situation. All right, let's
• 16:28
  Speaker 1: break it down a little bit. Now, Jesus's question goes
• 16:31
  Speaker 1: beyond more than just a physical Many can get comfortable
• 16:38
  Speaker 1: in their brokenness. Many people can get comfortable in their condition. Now,
• 16:46
  Speaker 1: some really don't want to be changed, right, Some people
• 16:49
  Speaker 1: don't want to be healed. Some people like the attention
• 16:53
  Speaker 1: they get, the sympathy they get from other people, the
• 16:57
  Speaker 1: perks that they get. I remember growing up, you know,
• 17:02
  Speaker 1: I was Remember I got saved at fifteen, but I
• 17:05
  Speaker 1: went through seasons of backsliding and some people that I
• 17:12
  Speaker 1: knew at the time, where you know, we were at
• 17:14
  Speaker 1: the age where we're just getting ready. We're making money.
• 17:17
  Speaker 1: People working at the dump and you know, buying cars
• 17:20
  Speaker 1: and stuff and you know, just doing the thing right
• 17:23
  Speaker 1: with all their money. But somehow they would get those
• 17:27
  Speaker 1: handicap stickers on their cars. Why because they wanted to
• 17:32
  Speaker 1: park their nice shiny car in the handicap They wanted
• 17:35
  Speaker 1: the best spots in the parking lot, knowing that somebody
• 17:44
  Speaker 1: who really needs it, you just block this person. And
• 17:50
  Speaker 1: some people like the perks of it. Some people like
• 17:54
  Speaker 1: the attention they get. Some people will scam the system
• 17:57
  Speaker 1: just to get a handicap parking, to get good parking.
• 18:02
  Speaker 1: And our pastor always says, well, you're cursing yourself like
• 18:05
  Speaker 1: you're gonna need that one day if you keep playing
• 18:09
  Speaker 1: with it, you know what I'm saying. But some people
• 18:13
  Speaker 1: like that. But Jesus asked a question, do you want
• 18:18
  Speaker 1: to be made whole? And I love that. I love
• 18:21
  Speaker 1: the fact that Jesus knew that he had the power,
• 18:27
  Speaker 1: he had the virtue. He is the answer to all
• 18:32
  Speaker 1: of our problems. Amen, hallelujah. Okay, let's hit verse seven
• 18:42
  Speaker 1: through nine. Seven through nine nine, let's rock with that now.

  Speaker 1: The sick man answered, sir, I have no man to
• 18:52
  Speaker 1: put me into the pool when the water is stirred
• 18:54
  Speaker 1: up while I am coming, another steps down before me.

  Speaker 1: So now this has always puzzled me when I read
• 19:03
  Speaker 1: this scripture, Like, okay, just open it up for everybody.

  Speaker 1: Like this man was here for thirty some years. Ain't
• 19:12
  Speaker 1: no way he's gonna be able to somebody would first off,
• 19:16
  Speaker 1: would have to carry him up there and help him.
• 19:19
  Speaker 1: But man, just imagine thirty years ago you were the
• 19:23
  Speaker 1: first person to get in there, like you'd have forgotten
• 19:26
  Speaker 1: about the citsus. You went on with your life after that,
• 19:31
  Speaker 1: You're not thinking about this guy. And verse eight, Jesus
• 19:37
  Speaker 1: said to him, rise, take up your bed and walk. Now,
• 19:41
  Speaker 1: that is a mighty miracle after all this time, don't
• 19:45
  Speaker 1: give up hope. Right, it might be a long time
• 19:49
  Speaker 1: before you get the answer to your prayer. Just keep
• 19:55
  Speaker 1: waiting on God. This man waited thirty eight years, and
• 19:59
  Speaker 1: immediately the man was made well, took up his bed
• 20:03
  Speaker 1: and walk. Al alujah. That's a praise right there, the
• 20:10
  Speaker 1: work of Jesus Christ, the work of his miracles. Amen.

  Speaker 1: Now let me see. And that day was the sabbath.
• 20:34
  Speaker 1: Uh oh, I'm talking about some Sabbath stuff. Now we're
• 20:37
  Speaker 1: getting we're gonna get into some opposition. Right now. We
• 20:45
  Speaker 1: talked about how Jesus is the true source. He was
• 20:47
  Speaker 1: looking at the water, he was looking at the pool,
• 20:50
  Speaker 1: but the true source of his healing walked up and
• 20:54
  Speaker 1: stepped in front of him and began to talk with him.
• 20:59
  Speaker 1: Now Jesus became who he truly is the answer. And
• 21:09
  Speaker 1: as I said, Jesus is also our answer, our answer.

  Speaker 1: What do we need healing from? What do we need
• 21:18
  Speaker 1: help with? What do we need deliverance from? Right, just
• 21:22
  Speaker 1: shout out the name of Jesus. Now, don't wait on
• 21:26
  Speaker 1: people or on systems. Let me say that again. Don't
• 21:32
  Speaker 1: wait on people or on systems. Look to Jesus. He
• 21:37
  Speaker 1: can change anything, and he can do it instantly. We
• 21:41
  Speaker 1: don't have to wait. It doesn't it's not going to
• 21:44
  Speaker 1: take thirty eight years. Right like this man, Jesus can
• 21:47
  Speaker 1: do it instantly. And as we're going through this chapter,
• 21:55
  Speaker 1: and as we're reading this right now, currently as I speak,
• 22:00
  Speaker 1: we our country is in the midst of a government shutdown.
• 22:06
  Speaker 1: A government shut down. A lot of government workers are
• 22:12
  Speaker 1: out of a job, or at least they have a job,
• 22:15
  Speaker 1: but they got to show up and not get paid
• 22:18
  Speaker 1: for the job. What do you do when you don't
• 22:20
  Speaker 1: have gas and you don't have a paycheck, but you
• 22:23
  Speaker 1: got to go to work? Like, what do you do?
• 22:26
  Speaker 1: What do you do? I can't imagine going to work
• 22:30
  Speaker 1: and expecting to produce and be productive without getting paid. Right.
• 22:38
  Speaker 1: We can't trust in people and we cannot trust in systems.
• 22:46
  Speaker 1: Jesus has an answer even for this situation. Amen, Okay,

  Speaker 1: so verse ten. The Jews therefore said to him who
• 23:03
  Speaker 1: was cured, it is the Sabbath. It is not lawful
• 23:09
  Speaker 1: for you to carry your bed. Wow. Can you imagine
• 23:16
  Speaker 1: the heart and the spirit behind us? You answer them,
• 23:20
  Speaker 1: He who made me well said to me, take up
• 23:23
  Speaker 1: your bed and walk. Oh man, check this out. Religion
• 23:35
  Speaker 1: cared more about rules than this miracle that they see
• 23:40
  Speaker 1: before them. I'm only the bat that these religious leaders
• 23:46
  Speaker 1: walked past this man multiple times within thirty eight years.
• 23:53
  Speaker 1: I mean, this guy grew up out there. Who knows
• 23:59
  Speaker 1: how how old he was, who knows his age when
• 24:03
  Speaker 1: this first happened to him, But he was out there
• 24:05
  Speaker 1: thirty eight years. They knew that this was a miracle.
• 24:09
  Speaker 1: They knew that this man had a condition. If they
• 24:12
  Speaker 1: were more concerned about him carrying his beds hee. Legalism
• 24:17
  Speaker 1: winds us to the joy of the work of God.
• 24:21
  Speaker 1: They should have been rejoicing that God was doing the
• 24:26
  Speaker 1: work in their mist when God moves. Don't be the critic.

  Speaker 1: You need to be the witness to the work of God.

  Speaker 1: I would hate to be the person who criticizes a
• 24:42
  Speaker 1: move and a work of God. I'd hate to be
• 24:45
  Speaker 1: that person. Amen Us, be the person that rejoices and
• 24:50
  Speaker 1: praises and God is at work.

  Speaker 1: Where we at verse twelve. Then they asked him who
• 25:08
  Speaker 1: is the man who said to you take up the
• 25:11
  Speaker 1: bed and walk? But the one who was healed did
• 25:17
  Speaker 1: not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn a
• 25:23
  Speaker 1: multitude being in the place. Afterwards, Jesus found him in
• 25:28
  Speaker 1: the temple and said to him, see, you have been
• 25:32
  Speaker 1: made well, sin no more less a worse thing comes
• 25:37
  Speaker 1: upon you. Wow, that is amazing. Jesus took the time
• 25:45
  Speaker 1: out to reveal himself to this man. Now Jesus finds
• 25:52
  Speaker 1: him later and tells him sin no more. Some are
• 26:01
  Speaker 1: tied to sin, but not all of them. You can't
• 26:06
  Speaker 1: say that every person who is sick, has some type
• 26:09
  Speaker 1: of sin in their life is the cause. But also
• 26:13
  Speaker 1: we can say that, you know what I mean, it's
• 26:17
  Speaker 1: just I guess it just takes discernment in the spirit.

  Speaker 1: Here Jesus calls him to holiness, He calls them to
• 26:24
  Speaker 1: be holy. Healing is not just physical, it's a spiritual element.

  Speaker 1: The scientists of today, the doctors and all that, the
• 26:37
  Speaker 1: people who do the research, they're finally catching up to
• 26:40
  Speaker 1: the Bible. They're starting to they're starting to realize that
• 26:43
  Speaker 1: bitterness and unforgiveness is the cause of a lot of
• 26:48
