- 0:00Speaker 1: Because fuck you, that's why is a founding member of
- 0:02Speaker 1: the Odd Pods Media Network.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Hello, and you're not welcome to b f y t
- 0:40Speaker 2: W because people who pretend to me my friends have
- 0:43Speaker 2: just spent fifteen to twenty minutes torturing me talk of musicals,
- 0:47Speaker 2: and I'm not happy about it.
- 0:48Speaker 3: It's our fault not happy of tasting music.
- 0:52Speaker 2: It's not my fault. You have shit tast in musicals.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Fuck liking them at all.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Our ship, our shit taking musicals that we like them
- 1:00Speaker 3: at all.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Yes, that's the ship take. That's the absolute garbage ship.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Send your hate mail to.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Please do.
- 1:12Speaker 2: We're moving past this. Uh, you're gonna want to be
- 1:14Speaker 2: a Patreon member to get the full picture of what
- 1:17Speaker 2: happened before this episode argument, but to the actual episode
- 1:26Speaker 2: high it's b f y t W the panel show
- 1:28Speaker 2: inspired podcast where we play silly games for faky points
- 1:32Speaker 2: for prizes that don't exist. So yeah, it's it's all.
- 1:37Speaker 2: It's all kind of a moot point. I genuinely don't
- 1:41Speaker 2: know why anyone listens, but we're glad you do. So
- 1:44Speaker 2: we're gonna keep doing silly things and making each other
- 1:47Speaker 2: laugh and driving each other crazy, which they've apparently targeted
- 1:50Speaker 2: on meat today. I don't know why, but here we are.
- 1:54Speaker 2: So I've got the games and we'll see if these
- 1:57Speaker 2: two idiots can manage to score any points at all,
- 2:00Speaker 2: depending on whether or not I choose to give them out.
- 2:03Speaker 2: So we're gonna start with He's a gamer and a storyteller.
- 2:06Speaker 2: He used to be my youngest friend. Now I'm just
- 2:08Speaker 2: angry at him. It's Ogie's and I always ask an
- 2:24Speaker 2: introductory question. In this week's introductory question is what the
- 2:27Speaker 2: fuck is wrong with you? Oh?
- 2:28Speaker 3: Let's say here, whe do I start hanging there?
- 2:33Speaker 4: Folks, I'm gonna fill in the rest of the forty
- 2:35Speaker 4: five minutes of this podcast, and that's all that's gonna be.
- 2:39Speaker 3: What the fuck is wrong with me?
- 2:41Speaker 5: Man?
- 2:41Speaker 1: What the fuck is wrong with you?
- 2:43Speaker 2: Like?
- 2:44Speaker 3: Like you can't appreciate the arts? I mean, I get
- 2:47Speaker 3: not liking certain arts like.
- 2:50Speaker 2: I appreciate art. Musicals are not art. I'm sorry. The
- 2:55Speaker 2: absolute nonsense.
- 2:56Speaker 6: Somehow, I think that is more divisive than any think
- 3:00Speaker 6: political we've ever said.
- 3:01Speaker 1: On this podcast.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Ship won't see right in right in, We'll see I mean,
- 3:11Speaker 2: these are my real feelings. I hate musicals, always hated musicals.
- 3:15Speaker 2: They drive me off.
- 3:16Speaker 4: They drive me up the hat.
- 3:21Speaker 2: I can't stand them. I can't stand them. I I
- 3:24Speaker 2: I auditioned for them when I went to nyr University
- 3:27Speaker 2: for theater pretty much just to have something to do,
- 3:31Speaker 2: because if you didn't do musicals like you were kind
- 3:34Speaker 2: of putting in this lower tier of like and you
- 3:36Speaker 2: would probably get passed on for projects if you didn't
- 3:39Speaker 2: really yeah, literally, if if you were if you were
- 3:42Speaker 2: snobby about which projects you auditioned form which ones you didn't,
- 3:44Speaker 2: you were expected pretty much to audition for everything, and
- 3:48Speaker 2: which I understand that's that's a good thing to do
- 3:51Speaker 2: in the real world if you want to get a
- 3:53Speaker 2: paying job, is audition for everything you can, you know.
- 3:57Speaker 2: But but in school, if you were like, nah, I'm
- 3:59Speaker 2: gonna pass, the faculty would notice that, you know, they
- 4:03Speaker 2: would pay attention to that stuff, and that could that
- 4:05Speaker 2: could impact your chances of getting in a different project,
- 4:09Speaker 2: you know, so kidding. Yeah, The guy who ran the
- 4:12Speaker 2: third department at the time was shall we say, a petty, petty, petty,
- 4:18Speaker 2: petty individual. I'm not going to get into it, but
- 4:22Speaker 2: he was. He was not despite being a man of
- 4:24Speaker 2: the cloth, he was not a great dude. Oh huh.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, so that's probably where the stain for musical started.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Stain No, I hated musicals from the jump, No ship,
- 4:38Speaker 2: there is one musical, and one musical alone that I like.
- 4:41Speaker 2: And I think I've said it before. It's a funny
- 4:44Speaker 2: thing happened on the way to the forum because it
- 4:46Speaker 2: is ridiculous nonsense from the off, from the jump. It
- 4:50Speaker 2: is pure nonsense that whole musical is. So it works.
- 4:54Speaker 2: It is the one musical where the music part actually
- 4:57Speaker 2: works and makes sense because nothing in the display makes sense.
- 5:01Speaker 2: It is. It is hilarious, ridiculous nonsense, and I love it.
- 5:05Speaker 2: But every every other musical I've ever seen, even the producers,
- 5:08Speaker 2: which I did actually enjoy, right, I was like, every
- 5:12Speaker 2: time a song started, I cringed a little bit. I
- 5:14Speaker 2: couldn't help it.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I'm like, fuck, I can understand. Yeah, I mean I
- 5:20Speaker 1: can't reflect that because I'd like musicals.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I know. We'll get to you, motherfucker. So anyway,
- 5:26Speaker 2: that's that's how he's interesting. Yea. Next, he's a veteran
- 5:30Speaker 2: and a podcaster, and as it turns out, by some
- 5:32Speaker 2: quirk that makes him a veteran podcaster and you know
- 5:36Speaker 2: someone who likes musical So take of that what you will.
- 5:39Speaker 2: It's Stevie.
- 5:46Speaker 3: I was wondering whether you're gonna take that one.
- 5:48Speaker 2: So what the fuck is wrong with you?
- 5:51Speaker 1: Dude? Again? You know, there's so much time in the day.
- 5:55Speaker 1: We can't even start, don't even.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Start double feature podcast.
- 5:58Speaker 2: I am gonna say, there's more right with you than wrong.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Okay, thank you. I appreciate that. It makes me doesn't
- 6:04Speaker 1: make me feel.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Better, Yeah, I get it. You know, nobody's perfect. Everybody
- 6:09Speaker 2: has imperfections and things that they've done that they're not
- 6:12Speaker 2: proud of. You know, Lord knows I've got more than
- 6:14Speaker 2: a few of those. But you know, you genuinely are
- 6:18Speaker 2: a good dude top to bottom.
- 6:19Speaker 1: So you know what, appreciate what this.
- 6:22Speaker 2: I guess my parents you're a good dude too. You know,
- 6:26Speaker 2: I didn't mean to imply that, like you're a bad
- 6:27Speaker 2: person because a music, which I think dries me up.
- 6:31Speaker 1: That's all to watch musicals, right, made me? Well, had
- 6:35Speaker 1: you watch music? I mean like I'm trying to think
- 6:38Speaker 1: that like singing in the rain, and keep in.
- 6:39Speaker 6: Mind something we had music in the house all the time,
- 6:45Speaker 6: so well, singing and musicals are two different things like
- 6:48Speaker 6: I enjoy singing.
- 6:49Speaker 2: I love I actually love singing. Yeah you do. Like
- 6:51Speaker 2: I enjoy doing rock band singing, I'll do that all
- 6:54Speaker 2: day long. But if someone said, hey, do you want
- 6:56Speaker 2: to destroy this musical, I'll be like, nope, fast enjoy it.
- 7:01Speaker 3: It's all music.
- 7:01Speaker 2: But if some if someone said, you know, if you
- 7:04Speaker 2: want to do a funny thing happened in the way
- 7:05Speaker 2: in the forum, I'd be like, who's directing it? And
- 7:08Speaker 2: you know, if I like, if I like the answer,
- 7:11Speaker 2: then I'll be like, yeah, sure let's do it. That'd
- 7:12Speaker 2: be fun. But otherwise, no anything else pretty much no
- 7:16Speaker 2: avenue Q maybe because I understand that is a cue
- 7:20Speaker 2: is also hilarious, ridiculous laugh out there.
- 7:26Speaker 1: But like I've been, I've been to Chaise and I've
- 7:28Speaker 1: seen a lot of musicals through there. I've seen le Miss,
- 7:31Speaker 1: I've seen West Side Story, I've seen what was the
- 7:35Speaker 1: one I say, Hamilton? But on things here, yeah, I've
- 7:40Speaker 1: always like I grew up in that though, like my
- 7:42Speaker 1: my parents, especially my mom was huge into like old movies,
- 7:45Speaker 1: like actors who could do everything, not just quote unquote
- 7:50Speaker 1: act like they could sing, they could dance, they actually
- 7:52Speaker 1: perform like a side of just like a green screen
- 7:55Speaker 1: or some shit. They actually you know, made you feel
- 7:58Speaker 1: that you were there with all those extra bullshit it
- 8:00Speaker 1: they get away with now and I love that stuff.
- 8:02Speaker 1: That's the one thing I liked about it. It's like
- 8:04Speaker 1: it was so real, like you don't need anything else,
- 8:06Speaker 1: You don't need those flashy shit and the movies and
- 8:08Speaker 1: TV throws at you now like on stage is everything
- 8:11Speaker 1: you need. And the song just helps bring that out
- 8:13Speaker 1: to me because it's like this pressure is actually a
- 8:16Speaker 1: real performer. It's not like they're just an actor or
- 8:18Speaker 1: justice singer. They can do everything. And that's just coming
- 8:21Speaker 1: from where I digs my mom grew up, showing me
- 8:25Speaker 1: like Kerry Grant and shit man like motherfucker like goddamn,
- 8:29Speaker 1: Like the ship they did back then was this impressive
- 8:32Speaker 1: to me and it still sticks with me, and that
- 8:34Speaker 1: these people are like the renaissance man. You know, they
- 8:36Speaker 1: are people because they could do it all. That's fucking great.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Audrey Heppern like Jesus Christ like fuck man. But yeah,
- 8:44Speaker 1: like that's probably my excuse quote unquote.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Sorry I was tuning you out. Sorry anyway, it's gonna
- 8:52Speaker 2: be that kind of schof I'm sure you had fun
- 8:56Speaker 2: musical things to say, but not for me. Uh. Anyway,
- 9:00Speaker 2: after the show is gonna be so much.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Yeah, this is gonna be the I'm trying to hear.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Back actively hot.
- 9:14Speaker 1: You know, a lot of shade getting thrown.
- 9:16Speaker 2: I'm bringing a different energyesus.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Yeah, negative energy. Goddamn.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Finally, all right, let's get into our game show.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:37Speaker 2: So, I've got, of course, three games, each with certain
- 9:41Speaker 2: amount of points for starting in game one. As you do,
- 9:44Speaker 2: game one is gonna be have. I got bad news
- 9:46Speaker 2: for you. I've got three news stories, and all our
- 9:48Speaker 2: players have to do is figure out which one of
- 9:50Speaker 2: these stories I've pre selected to be the worst news
- 9:53Speaker 2: of the week. Whichever player successfully identifies the worst news
- 9:57Speaker 2: story will win the game and earn one episode point.
- 10:00Speaker 2: We're gonna start with story number one. Car wrecking bear
- 10:03Speaker 2: in California turns out to be insurance scammer in a
- 10:06Speaker 2: bear suit.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Yes, wait so this.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Versus simultaneously very very silly but also kind of genius us.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I heard the story go ahead.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Yeah, So an insurance company started to suspect fraud after
- 10:25Speaker 2: four people in the Lake Arrowhead area reported a bear
- 10:30Speaker 2: entering their very expensive car and causing interior damage to
- 10:34Speaker 2: the vehicle. The video footage which they provided their insurance
- 10:38Speaker 2: company actually is online. You can go and watch this
- 10:41Speaker 2: right now if you want, and it shows the alleged
- 10:45Speaker 2: bear like breaking into the vehicle, getting inside and causing damage.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Upon further scrutiny of the video and asking for the
- 10:54Speaker 2: assistance of an actual like bear expert, the the bear
- 11:00Speaker 2: experts said that is not a bear. Bears do not
- 11:03Speaker 2: move like that. That is a person in a bear costume.
- 11:08Speaker 2: And so they obtained a search warrant for the four
- 11:12Speaker 2: people who were who had you know, reported their vehicles
- 11:16Speaker 2: broken into and claimed the insurance money. And in one
- 11:20Speaker 2: of their homes they found an actual bear costume with
- 11:25Speaker 2: metal claws. Oh my god, like they'd gone. They'd gone
- 11:28Speaker 2: to the extent of actually getting like full on Holy Mitzman,
- 11:33Speaker 2: full on blades shit attached to their hands so they
- 11:37Speaker 2: could swipe, swipe and destroy the ah the interior of
- 11:42Speaker 2: the car. The insurance companies were defrauded of a grand
- 11:45Speaker 2: total of one hundred and forty dollars from the alleged fraud,
- 11:52Speaker 2: but four of the gentlemen have been arrested and arrest
- 11:56Speaker 2: warrant has been issued for a fifth suspect, who is
- 11:59Speaker 2: currently outstanding. But I mean, yeah, there you go.
- 12:04Speaker 1: So as fucked up as this is, this story started
- 12:08Speaker 1: a couple of weeks prior to that, when the initial
- 12:11Speaker 1: reports were there, there's a bear loose. I saw the
- 12:13Speaker 1: original report saying a bear's loose is fucking up people's cars,
- 12:16Speaker 1: and then this came out this week and I'm just like,
- 12:20Speaker 1: what the fuck?
- 12:22Speaker 4: Okay, So here was my first initial thought process.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Did you actually watch the video?
- 12:29Speaker 3: I just fucking did, and that is hilarious.
- 12:33Speaker 4: So my first thought process was when you're like, oh, okay,
- 12:36Speaker 4: it was revealed to be a person in a bear costume.
- 12:38Speaker 4: I didn't think the other people were in on the
- 12:40Speaker 4: scam initially, so I'm like, wait, it.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Took four people to realize there was some dude in a.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Start like how many times did it take this?
- 12:48Speaker 6: And we're like, oh my god, a bear's attacked.
- 12:50Speaker 5: By Is that it is that a guy in a
- 12:53Speaker 5: After watching the video, yeah, is a fucking dude in
- 12:58Speaker 5: the bear costume.
- 12:59Speaker 3: First of all, the arms are as thin as mine.
- 13:03Speaker 3: That's not a bear, it would hold itself. That's like
- 13:06Speaker 3: a coyote at best. Second of all, you know, the
- 13:09Speaker 3: fucking rats from.
- 13:12Speaker 4: A Prince's diary, prince of diary or whatever, the fuck
- 13:14Speaker 4: rats of usual size.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Oh oh, the rats of unusual size.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Yeah, that's basically at a distance what it looked like.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Because the distance from the camera, they.
- 13:29Speaker 4: Musto thought they were far away enough where like the
- 13:31Speaker 4: trained eye couldn't tell, but it was like, yeah, it was.
- 13:34Speaker 4: It looked like a fucking ragged, giant ass New York
- 13:37Speaker 4: rat just clawing through this dude's vehicle. And then the
- 13:41Speaker 4: pictures of the claw marks which are like perfectly just
- 13:45Speaker 4: like maybe like what four inch long scratches, perfectly four
- 13:51Speaker 4: scratches like a bear would have. Yeah, and then I
- 13:54Speaker 4: even properly scratched because it doesn't properly show the smaller
- 13:59Speaker 4: appendan on their like paw or whatever like I normally
- 14:02Speaker 4: would see.
- 14:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it's fucking that's awesome.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Freaking fools.
- 14:09Speaker 3: That is fucking ridiculous. Also, what the fuck why would
- 14:12Speaker 3: they do that?
- 14:15Speaker 2: Money?
- 14:16Speaker 5: I guess.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Money, it's just money, you know, But why would you
- 14:20Speaker 2: record it?
- 14:21Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. That's the one thing they fucked up.
- 14:23Speaker 1: They shouldn't even they shouldn't have never recorded it, like
- 14:26Speaker 1: the fact that they went.
- 14:26Speaker 3: It's easier, it's easier.
- 14:28Speaker 6: To replicate the scratches than it is to replicate the
- 14:30Speaker 6: actual movement in sight of a bear.
- 14:33Speaker 2: I guess they just figured it was more proof, you know,
- 14:35Speaker 2: like I'll disprove it a bear.
- 14:37Speaker 3: You know, it doesn't know, it doesn't absolutely not.
- 14:41Speaker 1: You got everything which is nothing.
- 14:45Speaker 2: It is very fun.
- 14:46Speaker 1: You gotta pay for your own damage to your own car.
- 14:49Speaker 2: All right, we're gonna move on to story number two.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Man put on probation after neighbors catch him sniffing their shoes. Yeah,
- 14:57Speaker 2: so this is interesting. It is a twenty eight year
- 15:00Speaker 2: year old man. Uh he uh broke up with his
- 15:04Speaker 2: long term girlfriend, and apparently from that point onwards, he
- 15:10Speaker 2: would start entering the yards of other houses in his
- 15:14Speaker 2: area that had shoes out, apparently just just out in
- 15:18Speaker 2: the open, and he'd go over and give him a
- 15:23Speaker 2: little whiff. Yeah, just just sniff the shoes, just sniffed it.
- 15:29Speaker 2: It did not appear to be anything sexual. He didn't
- 15:32Speaker 2: he didn't like, he didn't appear to be turned on
- 15:34Speaker 2: in any way. But for whatever reason, he just had
- 15:38Speaker 2: to keep doing it. One of his neighbors eventually got
- 15:41Speaker 2: upset and called nine one one, but they didn't catch
- 15:43Speaker 2: him in the act. So he left the shoes out
- 15:46Speaker 2: and just waited. Yes, maybe not in Greek court, this happened.
- 15:55Speaker 2: So he he just left the shoes out and just waited.
- 15:57Speaker 2: And the next time the dude came over to sniff
- 15:59Speaker 2: his shoes, he called the cops. The cops caught him, uh,
- 16:02Speaker 2: and he went and stood in front of court and
- 16:05Speaker 2: he basically said, I don't know why I started doing this.
- 16:11Speaker 2: I I legitimately don't know what happened. My relationship fell apart, uh,
- 16:16Speaker 2: and I was working to help my parents. I'm an
- 16:19Speaker 2: only child and I would never hurt anybody, you know.
- 16:23Speaker 2: It just sad for some reason, I wanted to sniff
- 16:26Speaker 2: the shoes. We basically said, I feel very ashamed of disappointed,
- 16:32Speaker 2: but I can't explain it.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Uh.
- 16:35Speaker 2: So I believe if I'm not mistaken. The judge agreed
- 16:40Speaker 2: to not, you know, throw him in jail as long
- 16:42Speaker 2: as he sought therapy.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I didn't say to stop sniffing the shoes, though he
- 16:47Speaker 1: said don't therapy. I'm like, sweet, I still do it.
- 16:50Speaker 2: He is going to do community service, which is not
- 16:53Speaker 2: a surprise.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Walking Yeah, right, I mean really.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Any other thought.
- 17:00Speaker 1: I don't know, Like I think I've heard that story too,
- 17:03Speaker 1: Like that's funny.
- 17:04Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's why I've heard.
- 17:06Speaker 1: But at the same time, it's kind of like, oh, crap,
- 17:08Speaker 1: why are you sniffing my shoes? My feet? Gross?
- 17:10Speaker 3: Right, I don't know.
- 17:11Speaker 4: Maybe I had something that I guess some people have,
- 17:14Speaker 4: like traumatic compulsions happens.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm glad it wasn't anything malicious, right, Like it
- 17:21Speaker 1: could have been like you could have been leaving stuff
- 17:23Speaker 1: in people's shoes, like like when falling asleep, getting underneath
- 17:27Speaker 1: the covers and licking their feet because you know, you
- 17:30Speaker 1: taste of your tongue too.
- 17:32Speaker 2: I'm just not gonna think about what he could have done.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Is that just it's gonna make me sick.
- 17:38Speaker 6: You could have put them on, walked around, you walked
- 17:41Speaker 6: around in other people's shoes.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Could have modeled them.
- 17:43Speaker 1: That would have been amazing.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Left photo so much better.
- 17:49Speaker 6: Man breaks the neighbors homes, has models, shoes with shoes,
- 17:53Speaker 6: puts them back before they wake, just.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Like all little photo shots like ten shots. That would
- 17:59Speaker 1: be fucking okay, guys, I need to pollaroid.
- 18:02Speaker 2: And then he spontaneously breaks into song just to be ridiculous.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Yees make a musical out of it.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Anyways, Fine, walking down the top.
- 18:11Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Story number three, it'll have soul. Forty forty three, you
- 18:17Speaker 2: fucking asshole. Forty three monkeys. Forty three monkeys.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Sorry, I'm getting energized.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Don't sorry. Story number three. Forty three monkeys escape South
- 18:32Speaker 2: Carolina research facility. So I would have thought this story
- 18:36Speaker 2: would have been the one that you'd have already heard of.
- 18:38Speaker 1: I did hear this one too. I've heard all of them.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Actually forty months for more than forty monkeys escaped from
- 18:43Speaker 2: a research facility in South Carolina on Wednesday, prompting warnings
- 18:47Speaker 2: for nearby residents to secure their doors and windows. Thirty
- 18:51Speaker 2: five of the fugitive monkeys have been caught, but eight
- 18:54Speaker 2: others are still on the loose as of Thursday, according
- 18:57Speaker 2: to officials.
- 18:58Speaker 4: Oh fuck, last we heard it was one. It was
- 19:01Speaker 4: it was one, and then like twenty four or whatever.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Like one was captured and the rest of them were
- 19:06Speaker 1: still at large. And the one just read it on
- 19:09Speaker 1: the other ones and that's how they caught.
- 19:11Speaker 2: That was what they called.
- 19:13Speaker 1: And then you were like a couple of days and
- 19:14Speaker 1: then all of a sudden they call like seven more
- 19:17Speaker 1: or something shit, or twelve more. It's like that motherfucking
- 19:19Speaker 1: red I'm pretty sure they're tagged.
- 19:23Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure now. No, they're dead.
- 19:28Speaker 6: I mean, the only tags on them now are the
- 19:30Speaker 6: toe tags.
- 19:32Speaker 1: As fucked up as that is, it's probably.
- 19:34Speaker 3: There's no way that those monkeys are aling of that facility.
- 19:38Speaker 2: No fucking way.
- 19:40Speaker 1: The only one that made it out was that first
- 19:41Speaker 1: one who snitched on the other one. The eight still
- 19:44Speaker 1: at large, he got his an, he's done.
- 19:48Speaker 3: He already got pardoned by the president of a new ID.
- 19:50Speaker 1: He's in fucking CanCon and ship.
- 19:52Speaker 2: One of them got picked up by j and bob've
- 19:56Speaker 2: been traveling together across several state lines. Fugitive monkeys, Oh man,
- 20:07Speaker 2: I'm afraid I don't have much more than that. They
- 20:10Speaker 2: broke loose from a research called Alpha Genesis in your
- 20:14Speaker 2: massy Beaufort County in southern southern Calfa, South Carolina.
- 20:17Speaker 1: That doesn't sound dirty.
- 20:19Speaker 2: And I don't know why I seem to remember there
- 20:21Speaker 2: being more to this article, but maybe because I'm reading
- 20:24Speaker 2: it on my phone.
- 20:25Speaker 1: It's all I'm getting.
- 20:27Speaker 2: I'm getting nothing but ads. After that, here we go. Okay,
- 20:31Speaker 2: if I put it in desktop mode, it gives me
- 20:33Speaker 2: the rest. The company confirmed forty three reesis mccacus racist.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Mccas reesis like late and peanut.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Butter, no asshole. All right, that's all I'm gonna say
- 20:47Speaker 2: about the story. We're just gonna move on to the
- 20:49Speaker 2: end of the game.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Hail Caesar.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Which one of these is the worst news? Just pick one? Ogie?
- 20:56Speaker 5: Uh, honestly, I think this is the The shoe sniffing
- 21:01Speaker 5: is the worst one. The shoe Yeah, I mean, fucking
- 21:04Speaker 5: fraud is one thing, but like they didn't get away
- 21:06Speaker 5: with it, but the shoe stiffing is both weird and
- 21:10Speaker 5: also is definitely a dude's mental health at risk.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Maybe what do you think? You can't pick that one?
- 21:17Speaker 1: You got to It's difficult because I think that's the
- 21:20Speaker 1: one you would choose normally.
- 21:21Speaker 2: I mean, Augie is right, So picked either one.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I'm going to go with the monkey's
- 21:25Speaker 1: right dead? Yeah, okay, because they're all dead, because they're dead.
- 21:29Speaker 2: They've just they've been captured. There, they're still alive.
- 21:31Speaker 3: They're being invested, they're being interrogated right now.
- 21:33Speaker 2: I mean to be further being taken back to the
- 21:35Speaker 2: research to see where God knows.
- 21:36Speaker 6: What has happened, right, Yeah, back to test whatever test
- 21:39Speaker 6: that was a week ago.
- 21:41Speaker 2: I didn't look too deep into what Alpha Genesis does,
- 21:44Speaker 2: but I'm a little concerned about those monkeys.
- 21:46Speaker 1: A company named Alpha Genesis.
- 21:47Speaker 3: You could take a couple of guesses they're.
- 21:50Speaker 6: Doing some hybrid monkey humans, like calling your company umbrella.
- 21:56Speaker 1: It's true.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Well, as I said, Augie's right, Uh, Storry number two
- 22:01Speaker 2: is the worst of The other two are hilarious, but
- 22:03Speaker 2: this was not as funny, and it's it is a
- 22:05Speaker 2: little bit sad because dudes obviously suffering. Yeah, it is
- 22:09Speaker 2: kind of weird.
- 22:09Speaker 6: They chose to so it's a little fun It is
- 22:12Speaker 6: a weird It is a little reaction to getting broken up.
- 22:15Speaker 2: But yeah, but it's it's not it's not as funny
- 22:17Speaker 2: as the other two by any merging the car wrecking bear,
- 22:21Speaker 2: I just enjoy that such.
- 22:22Speaker 1: I'm just glad those fuckers didn't get away with it.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Now they have to pay for all.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Then it was their own stupidity too.
- 22:27Speaker 4: If they just didn't have video footage, they were at
- 22:29Speaker 4: least gotten away with it.
- 22:30Speaker 2: The pictures of the bear costume and the video are
- 22:32Speaker 2: both online for people to enjoy, so I mean just
- 22:35Speaker 2: going and just.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Make fun of these people.
- 22:36Speaker 3: You can't really see it.
- 22:38Speaker 6: There's probably shot on YouTube where they have it more
- 22:40Speaker 6: zoomed in and more cleaned up, but you can see
- 22:41Speaker 6: a lot better.
- 22:42Speaker 3: But like if you've seen a bear in.
- 22:45Speaker 6: Real life, you know it's not a fucking bear you're
- 22:48Speaker 6: looking at.
- 22:50Speaker 2: In any event, Ogy's won the game and gets one point.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Very nice, very nice, well done, good start to the show.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Oh yeah, when we come back, we're gonna play game two.
- 23:00Speaker 2: Game two is worth two episode points, and we'll see
- 23:02Speaker 2: if a can win that one too. Right after this,
- 23:51Speaker 2: hey man, welcome to the mailbox. We're gonna check and
- 23:54Speaker 2: see what our friends and fans had to say to
- 23:56Speaker 2: us this time. Any comments, email, voicemails, what's going on?
- 24:01Speaker 1: We did have one comment, one voice, smails or anything
- 24:04Speaker 1: this week? Oh man, maybe next week.
- 24:06Speaker 2: All right, I'll hold out home.
- 24:08Speaker 6: Heck yeah, maybe you'll get all that hate for the hands.
- 24:12Speaker 2: So yeah, I'm gonna hear I'm gonna hear it for
- 24:16Speaker 2: weeks probably.
- 24:17Speaker 1: That's awesome at least for a couple hours, and I'm
- 24:20Speaker 1: going to ignore all of it, right, yeah, so so
- 24:22Speaker 1: sending the voicemails to be a y t W and
- 24:24Speaker 1: I'll get those and then we can debate and musical.
- 24:28Speaker 2: He'll weaponize them against me of course on the sound
- 24:31Speaker 2: well all you will, and I will completely ignore them. Yeah,
- 24:34Speaker 2: so let's check out this comment. So it's on show
- 24:37Speaker 2: two forty one. Good news for Aaron's mouth. If the
- 24:40Speaker 2: cost is correct, you just just slam all three games.
- 24:43Speaker 1: And sometimes if I can't think of something clever enough clever,
- 24:47Speaker 1: then I do. Yeah, that's fair, and I try to
- 24:48Speaker 1: make it funny.
- 24:49Speaker 3: And sometimes ends up working out pretty well.
- 24:54Speaker 2: This episode should probably be titled you won't believe what
- 24:57Speaker 2: Aaron says about musicals this time?
- 25:00Speaker 6: Right, my nyl, Like Aaron just hates musicals and hates
- 25:04Speaker 6: underlined with an arrow underneath pointing out another like.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Aaron hates musicals. No, that's fair, that's fair, all right.
- 25:15Speaker 2: So this comment is from William mannis hey, William, what's
- 25:18Speaker 2: going on? And his comment on episode two forty one
- 25:21Speaker 2: was okay, So I think they eat the eat a bean,
- 25:25Speaker 2: Eat the bean. Shirt should be a little man or
- 25:27Speaker 2: anamorphic bean paddling a canoe saying eat the bean with
- 25:31Speaker 2: bow on the canoe.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I mean that's an idea. There could be multiple. I'm
- 25:38Speaker 1: okay with that.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I was gonna say there's always it's not.
- 25:41Speaker 2: An awful idea. I just feel like there's there's a
- 25:47Speaker 2: pretty And we also got sent an image of a
- 25:50Speaker 2: again an anthropomorph bean eating a pile of beans. So
- 25:54Speaker 2: he's a cannibal, and next to him are the words
- 25:58Speaker 2: eat a bean. Pretty sure he's farting. Oh I thought
- 26:02Speaker 2: he was shitting. I thought that was actual.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Well, that's ships.
- 26:06Speaker 2: So he's shitting and farting has been. And this was
- 26:11Speaker 2: sent Oggie by your mind.
- 26:13Speaker 6: I know.
- 26:16Speaker 3: And you wonder why I'm so fucked up. You asked
- 26:19Speaker 3: me earlier what the fuck is wrong with me?
- 26:21Speaker 2: I mean, I get it, what is wrong with me?
- 26:24Speaker 2: A lot of things make so much more sense now,
- 26:27Speaker 2: and I just just want to tell you that I
- 26:29Speaker 2: love you and I appreciate you. Okay, you're cool. You
- 26:33Speaker 2: knew my dad, I did, I did, And wow, I'm
- 26:38Speaker 2: impressed you're as well put together all right?
- 26:41Speaker 1: Actually pretty surprising now, huh yeah, genuinely impressed.
- 26:45Speaker 3: In saane asylum just wouldn't take me.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Oggie is genuinely like the most chill, dude, and you
- 26:52Speaker 2: wouldn't think.
- 26:54Speaker 1: No, not even a little bit.
- 26:56Speaker 2: How did how did this person sprout from these two people?
- 27:01Speaker 2: That is the question. It just must be a thing
- 27:06Speaker 2: like they canceled each other out, you know what I mean, Like,
- 27:12Speaker 2: holy shit, I cannot believe his mom drew that being shipping.
- 27:17Speaker 1: In front of the podcast apparently.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Thank you, wow, but thank you. We'll definitely consider using it.
- 27:33Speaker 2: That might happen. All right, shall we get back to
- 27:37Speaker 2: the games? Yes, all right, right back to it. I'll
- 27:40Speaker 2: get hit it. Hey man, it's time for game number two.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Game number two is going to be the cost is Correct,
- 27:55Speaker 2: Everybody's favorite game. I've got three items here, all vaguely
- 27:59Speaker 2: really in some way to the stories in our previous game,
- 28:03Speaker 2: and you're gonna take your guesses to what the actual
- 28:07Speaker 2: final auction bids were on these items. They were all
- 28:10Speaker 2: sold through eBay recently, and they are all genuinely real
- 28:16Speaker 2: and rare items. So I'm excited to see what you
- 28:19Speaker 2: guys think about these. These are all gonna be related
- 28:21Speaker 2: to monkeys.
- 28:22Speaker 4: Oh, I'm related to a monkey.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Stevie, you lost last game. Do you want to bid
- 28:27Speaker 2: first or second?
- 28:28Speaker 1: I'll bid first.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Okay. In that case, our first itema for bids this
- 28:31Speaker 2: time is this beautiful eighteen carrot gold belt buckle. This
- 28:36Speaker 2: David Webb two piece yellow gold belt buckle, previously owned
- 28:40Speaker 2: by a furniture designer and the owner of the Yellow
- 28:43Speaker 2: Monkey Antique Shops in Crossriver, New York, is shaped like
- 28:47Speaker 2: a monkey, and it was a gift. It was a
- 28:52Speaker 2: gift from the designer, mister Webb to the owner of
- 28:55Speaker 2: the antique shops, according to family lore. And this listing
- 28:58Speaker 2: can be yours if the cost is correct. Stevie, start

- 29:15Speaker 2: and they both have eighteen carrots stamped.
- 29:17Speaker 6: Also just a lot okay, Okay, So eighteen carrod is
- 29:19Speaker 6: a good starting point of what you need.

- 29:22Speaker 1: at two hundred dollars.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Two hundred dollars is a good start. Augie three hundred,

- 30:22Speaker 2: thirty three?
- 30:25Speaker 1: No? I want to go higher?

- 37:20Speaker 3: We're middle class guys.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Living in the middle of America. In the middle chapters
- 37:24Speaker 2: of our lives with points of view somewhere in the middle.
- 37:27Speaker 8: We take a more reasonable and centrist approach in our discussions,
- 37:31Speaker 8: covering genres like comedy, culture, entertainment, and interviews with really
- 37:36Speaker 8: interesting folks like business owners, comic creators, doctors, news anchors,
- 37:40Speaker 8: New York Times best selling illustrators, professional stand up comics,
- 37:45Speaker 8: and more. We really value a relaxed and conversational podcast,
- 37:50Speaker 8: one that we hope is so fun and laid back
- 37:52Speaker 8: you'll forget you're not actually hanging out with us.
- 37:56Speaker 7: So search at from the midpod just like it sounds,
- 37:59Speaker 7: or check us out everywhere you can find podcasts.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Hey man, welcome back. It's time for game three. Game
- 38:17Speaker 2: three is the return of the rules of the game.
- 38:21Speaker 2: All right, now you both know how to play the game, right,
- 38:26Speaker 2: of course not, that's the whole point. They have no
- 38:28Speaker 2: idea what we're about to do. We're just gonna start playing,
- 38:30Speaker 2: uh and which whichever of you? Now. Unlike a lot
- 38:35Speaker 2: of our Rules of the Game episodes, this one you
- 38:37Speaker 2: cannot guess the rules. It is just whoever.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Wins, okay, okay, okay, So just.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Win the game. It's all you gotta do. Who wins
- 38:45Speaker 2: the game gets three episode points and in August case
- 38:49Speaker 2: gets a clean sweep. In Stevie's case, he ties the
- 38:51Speaker 2: episode up and we go to a draw. So we'll
- 38:55Speaker 2: see whichever happens. We're gonna play the rules of the game. Stevie,
- 38:58Speaker 2: do you want to you lost the last game? Do
- 38:59Speaker 2: you want to go first or second?
- 39:01Speaker 1: Second?
- 39:01Speaker 2: Okay, I think that's wise. Augie yea north, south easter west, north, Okay,
- 39:13Speaker 2: Stevie north south easter west, South, Augie, north south east,
- 39:20Speaker 2: west east Stevie north south east or west North Augie
- 39:35Speaker 2: north south east west North Stevie north south east or
- 39:42Speaker 2: west South Augie north south east or west west Okay
- 39:52Speaker 2: Stevie north south eastern west, Augie north south east or
- 40:01Speaker 2: west south. Fucker, you said south, Yeah, Okay, Sorry, I
- 40:10Speaker 2: just gotta make sure I get things right here for
- 40:12Speaker 2: those listening at home. I am working a lot on
- 40:14Speaker 2: my phone on this one. Uh And you said south south, Okay, Stevie, north,
- 40:19Speaker 2: south east, west, south Okay, Agie, north south east or
- 40:24Speaker 2: west west Steevie north southeast or west west.
- 40:32Speaker 1: I don't know if you're thinking the same thing I am,
- 40:33Speaker 1: but that's freaking insane.
- 40:34Speaker 2: If it is, sorry, remind me which way you went west?
- 40:39Speaker 2: You went west, and you also went west? Okay, double west,
- 40:42Speaker 2: double west, uh Augie north south east, west, North Stevie
- 40:50Speaker 2: north south east or west, South Aggie north south east
- 40:57Speaker 2: or west South Stevie north south east or.
- 41:02Speaker 1: West West.
- 41:06Speaker 2: Augie north south east or west. No, you went north Stevie.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Which way did you go west?
- 41:18Speaker 2: And Augie went north? Stevie north south easter west.
- 41:25Speaker 1: That's okay, So that's not what I thought it was.
- 41:27Speaker 1: I will go with.
- 41:30Speaker 2: South Augie north, south east or west, South Stevie north
- 41:39Speaker 2: south east or west East Augie north southeaster or west
- 41:51Speaker 2: South Stevie north south east or west, uh west? Sorry,
- 42:06Speaker 2: you took so long. Sorry, augu restrection. Did you go
- 42:09Speaker 2: last south? Okay? And you went west? Correct? Okay?
- 42:12Speaker 6: Sorry, this is complicated, most complicated rules of the game,
- 42:18Speaker 6: I think.
- 42:20Speaker 2: Okay, So I think you guys have done ten or
- 42:24Speaker 2: maybe a little more. In any event, I meant to
- 42:26Speaker 2: give you a clue around now, so I might as
- 42:27Speaker 2: well give.
- 42:27Speaker 3: You a clue.
- 42:31Speaker 2: I told you, yeah, ten each. See here's your clue.
- 42:35Speaker 2: I told you it was wise to not go first
- 42:38Speaker 2: because it was a disadvantage to go first. So having
- 42:43Speaker 2: said that Augie north south east, west, South, Stevie north south,
- 42:51Speaker 2: easter or west, East, Augie north, south east or west, South,
- 43:00Speaker 2: Stevie north south east, west, Uh East, Auge north southeast
- 43:10Speaker 2: or west. Stevie north south east, west, North, Auge north
- 43:19Speaker 2: southeast or west. Stevie north southeast or west. North.
- 43:25Speaker 3: We're just coming back the way.
- 43:27Speaker 2: We came Auge north, south east, west east. Sorry and Stevee,
- 43:33Speaker 2: you said which is which is okay? And you said
- 43:35Speaker 2: east Okay, Uh, Stevie north southeast or west, South, Auge
- 43:45Speaker 2: north south east, west east, Uh, Stevie north southeast or west, North,
- 43:56Speaker 2: Auge north, south east or west.
- 44:01Speaker 1: This is crazy East.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Stevie north, south east or west, West, Okay, Augie north
- 44:12Speaker 2: south east or west. Uh North, Stevie north south east
- 44:24Speaker 2: or west or isn't an option? Right?
- 44:26Speaker 1: No, just making sure I know, I know. I said
- 44:28Speaker 1: this like wait a minute, North, Uh.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Yeah, said you're going south, Okay, Augie north, south, east
- 44:37Speaker 2: or west. And if neither of you win by the
- 44:40Speaker 2: end of this, I'll give you another clue. Yeah, Augie's
- 44:44Speaker 2: going east, Stevie north, south east or west. And Stevie
- 44:50Speaker 2: just won the game. Congratulations. Do you have any idea?
- 44:56Speaker 2: Do you have any idea why you won?
- 44:58Speaker 1: I had three different ideas going into it. The first
- 45:00Speaker 1: one was I want to see what I can spell? Well,
- 45:02Speaker 1: the first one was doing opposites, I think, and it's
- 45:04Speaker 1: trying to be alternate from Augie and trying to work
- 45:07Speaker 1: off his. Then it was like, oh, what can I
- 45:08Speaker 1: spell like I spelled so in ween and then and
- 45:17Speaker 1: then I'm like, well, you're saying north, south, east, and
- 45:19Speaker 1: western to order, maybe I'll just go buy whatever the
- 45:20Speaker 1: next thing is in a row that Augie says. So
- 45:22Speaker 1: if he says north, I'll go self he's the south,
- 45:24Speaker 1: I'll say east. So I wasn't sure, so I just
- 45:27Speaker 1: kept playing around, okay, doing a little bit of each thing.
- 45:29Speaker 2: Well you did eventually do it, Aggie, did you have
- 45:32Speaker 2: any idea? I'm gonna guess no, no, because and I'm
- 45:35Speaker 2: gonna show you what's on my cell phone right now.
- 45:38Speaker 2: So it's your names plus number and it's Augie is
- 45:42Speaker 2: nothing but zero's Augie. A never managed to do what
- 45:47Speaker 2: seebe kept doing it and then backing off, and then
- 45:50Speaker 2: doing it and backing off. There's ones and then zeros
- 45:53Speaker 2: and then ones, and then zeros, and then finally went
- 45:56Speaker 2: cebe went one, two three. The goal was to go
- 45:59Speaker 2: the opposite direction of your opponent three times in a row.
- 46:02Speaker 2: Nice Oggie never went the opposite direction of Stevie. Not
- 46:07Speaker 2: once in the entire game did he go the opposite
- 46:10Speaker 2: direction of Stevie. Stevie did occasionally go the opposite direction,
- 46:12Speaker 2: and then finally he went opposite direction three times in
- 46:15Speaker 2: a row. You never had any clue which was I
- 46:18Speaker 2: was like seriously sitting like if he if, he says,
- 46:20Speaker 2: fucking should have.
- 46:22Speaker 1: Went with opposite first, and I was like, no, it's
- 46:24Speaker 1: got I don't.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Know it was. You did it, man, you did it.
- 46:28Speaker 2: You have won the game, which means you have three
- 46:31Speaker 2: episode points, which means you both have three episode points.
- 46:34Speaker 2: It's a draw. Nobody wins, everybody loses. Just like going
- 46:41Speaker 2: to a music I knew just the dagger a little
- 46:47Speaker 2: bit more, just like nobody wins, nobody wins.
- 46:54Speaker 1: That was awesome, awesome. I enjoyed that.
- 46:58Speaker 2: It has genuinely been a lot of fun that. Uh
- 47:00Speaker 2: and I play on musicals a lot, and with good reason.
- 47:05Speaker 2: Uh so I'm gonna get so much.
- 47:11Speaker 1: Oh, I hope you do I just hope I'm just
- 47:13Speaker 1: like musical.
- 47:15Speaker 6: I hope someone takes it actually seriously, this guy.
- 47:20Speaker 2: Never listens to a show again.
- 47:22Speaker 6: Yeah, this is the only episode they listen to, and
- 47:25Speaker 6: it's the only one they'll ever listen to, the only
- 47:27Speaker 6: one they ever listened to.

- 47:30Speaker 1: Man, they tell all their like higher up people and
