  To bring you that aspects of it, we're also talking about Moto

  GP, World Super Bike. I think we're pretty much

  talking about anything that has to do with racing and and two
• 1:49
  wheels and you know adrenaline, you know, you know what it is.

  So you know this is episode 3. Excited for it.

  You know it. It's been crazy in September.

  For folks that are riding and watching the, you know, if

  you're watching Motor America or you're watching World Super Bike
• 2:09
  or BSB, you know, you know what it is.

  So we're gonna jump right into it because, you know, here in
• 2:18
  America. We're coming to the end of the
• 2:21
  season pretty much for a lot of the club racing.
• 2:24
  So you know it it it's kind of like for folks that are
• 2:27
  competing in championships and you know they're they're the
• 2:30
  ones that are going to be showing up.
• 2:32
  Usually folks that are not compete in they tend to you know
• 2:35
  the last few rounds they tend to take off and stuff like that and
• 2:39
  and so which is, which is, which is you know it's a different
• 2:43
  topic for another day I would say but you know it is coming to
• 2:46
  the end of the season so. You know, you start to plan for
• 2:50
  for next year for those that already have given up on the
• 2:53
  season and for those that are racing right now, they're still
• 2:57
  planning for next year, but just, you know, still racing,
• 3:02
  right? You know, if you, it depends,
• 3:03
  whatever club you're at, you're still trying to finish up the
• 3:06
  round and stuff like that. So it you know it, it it's
• 3:10
  trying times. I remember in 2021 when I was
• 3:14
  fighting for some regional titles.
• 3:17
  It's really hectic because you know if if you're ahead, well I
• 3:21
  would I I've always been coming from behind so, so I can't.
• 3:25
  I don't know what it's like to be out front and and and trying
• 3:29
  to just skate people off, but you know if you're like five
• 3:32
  points, 10 points down, you know you're you're hoping that the
• 3:37
  rider doesn't show up. You know, you're hoping that you
• 3:39
  know if this faster, right, is in front of you.
• 3:42
  You know, you're hoping that you know these people can be a
• 3:44
  buffer. You're also asking a lot of
• 3:46
  yourself to say okay, you know, I have to do something I haven't
• 3:51
  done before. You know, if you want this, you
• 3:53
  know you have. This is one of these moments
• 3:54
  where you have to be the best versions of yourself.
• 3:58
  Yeah. You know so I know what that's
• 4:00
  like in the last couple of years, years before that there's
• 4:05
  a long story. But I know that.
• 4:06
  I know that's like the last couple of years of trying to
• 4:08
  fight for titles and stuff like that.
• 4:10
  And for me you know it was one of those moments like OK I need
• 4:13
  to be the best version of myself and and you know and and for a
• 4:18
  couple of rounds of a couple of different regions I I.
• 4:22
  I did secure titles, but for one one region.
• 4:25
  You know, I had to, I had to work for the last round.
• 4:29
  And you know, no matter what you plan, no matter what you think,
• 4:33
  you you assume that you know. You know, you know what you
• 4:36
  know. But what you don't know is the
• 4:38
  beautiful part of it. Because you know, you could
• 4:40
  surprise yourself. You may want to be, you know, a
• 4:43
  couple of seconds faster or whatever.
• 4:46
  And then you surprise yourself so that's that is the beautiful
• 4:49
  side of of the other side of it. So I noticed like for riders
• 4:52
  that are you know in the top four and and and the closing
• 4:55
  points and stuff like that and you want to and you're trying to
• 4:58
  win a title, you know, but whether it's a class title,
• 5:02
  whether it's a regional title or whether it's a national title,
• 5:06
  you know you're trying to win and and so you know if like I
• 5:10
  said if you're a front, I don't know what that's like but coming
• 5:13
  from behind I have an idea. You know, I didn't win the title
• 5:17
  of the year. I had to push.
• 5:19
  But I came close and and and I and the times that I put up I
• 5:25
  was a bit I I'm happy with it, you know what I mean?
• 5:28
  Because I surprised myself and that's why I say that.
• 5:32
  It's like you never know what can happen.
• 5:34
  You know you may think that okay I just need to be the this that,
• 5:37
  that or whatever. But you never know.
• 5:40
  You just you just you just never know.
• 5:42
  You just got to just show up. And and just try to be the best
• 5:47
  race you can be. And for some people the universe
• 5:49
  is going to open and give you what you need.
• 5:51
  For other people you're going to pack it up for next year you
• 5:55
  know and for me I didn't win the title the the the the the the
• 5:58
  first year I didn't win that regional title that was runner
• 6:03
  up and but I was still the fastest side of it was and and
• 6:08
  that's something to build on for next season and stuff like that.
• 6:10
  So I'm not sitting here saying look at next season yet.
• 6:13
  But just be the best versions of yourself.
• 6:15
  Because at the end of the day, if you give 100% and you walk
• 6:20
  off whatever track, basketball, court, tennis, court, whatever
• 6:24
  it is, whatever you walk off of, if you're the best version of
• 6:28
  yourself, you may not get the title or you may get the title,
• 6:32
  but at least you can look at yourself in the mirror and go.
• 6:35
  I was the best version of myself and I haven't surprised myself.
• 6:38
  So it's just kind of like it. It's just more to build on for
• 6:41
  the next year. You know so that that's that so
• 6:45
  folks that got a couple of rounds left and they fight in
• 6:48
  and if the and if it and if it's close with other riders you know
• 6:52
  just try to be the best version of yourself and the rest is up
• 6:56
  to the the gods the universe whatever you know so that's that
• 7:01
  and and I didn't you know I didn't start this show to talk
• 7:03
  about that but it just came to me as I'm as I'm talking about
• 7:06
  it's more like it is the end of season.
• 7:09
  And so for, you know, folks that are looking to get into racing
• 7:13
  or looking to bump up a class with these, started out on a 300
• 7:17
  and you want to go to 400 or 400, you want to go to, you
• 7:20
  know, a lightweight or middleweight or whatever.
• 7:23
  Now is a good time to start looking for used race bikes
• 7:26
  because folks that are either building new bikes or retiring
• 7:33
  from from racing, they're going to be selling their bikes.
• 7:36
  You know and and so there's a lot of bikes that's going to
• 7:40
  come on the market. I can't tell you where to look.
• 7:43
  I I have ideas but you know let's just just put it in your
• 7:47
  search engine and and and look because now is a good time to
• 7:51
  look. I will say this I've I've had a
• 7:56
  lot of bikes, but I've had five race bikes and two.

  Two out of the five bikes I bought that were already race
• 8:03
  bikes and I built three race bikes.
• 8:07
  The downside of building your own bike.
• 8:09
  You spend a lot more money than buying a race bike already
• 8:12
  billed. The downside of buying a One of
• 8:16
  the downsides of buying a race bike is if you buy a bike from
• 8:19
  somebody who wasn't honest with you, then you in for problems.
• 8:25
  So, you know, I would say this up front, if it sounds too good
• 8:29
  to be a deal, it's probably too good to be a deal.
• 8:34
  But outside of that, you know whatever bike that you're
• 8:37
  looking to buy, do the research on it.
• 8:39
  Do find out what issues are with the bikes and stuff like that.
• 8:43
  And you know giant joint forms that you know whatever bike you
• 8:47
  want to get there probably is a form for it if you're racing and
• 8:51
  see what people are talking about that bike and and the the
• 8:53
  model bike and stuff like that and and try to figure all that
• 8:56
  ahead of time. Hopefully the the person that's
• 8:59
  selling the bike is a good person and they're being upfront
• 9:01
  with you. I can't say that happens all the
• 9:04
  time. I've had, you know, buying.
• 9:08
  I've had one good experience and one bad experience having, you
• 9:11
  know, buying a bike already billed, but you buy a bike as
• 9:15
  is, so you know it is it. It is what it is.

  For me, I was more looking at, oh, it's a new bike and I wasn't
• 9:24
  looking for things that could go wrong.
• 9:26
  I wasn't looking for leaks or whatever.
• 9:29
  I was just like, oh, this is a bike I want.
• 9:31
  I was very excited. And this is the second bike, the
• 9:33
  first bike I bought, which was from somebody who was who had a
• 9:37
  really good bike. I didn't have to worry about it.
• 9:38
  All I had to do is just change the oil, put some ties on it and
• 9:41
  and pretty much go racing. For a couple of years I didn't
• 9:44
  really have to worry about that bike at all and I sold that
• 9:46
  bike. It was a pretty solid bike.
• 9:48
  And second, you know, and I built two race bike in between
• 9:51
  there, two race bikes in between there.
• 9:53
  And then I bought a bike that was a race bike, was a Motor
• 9:57
  America bike. But it's been passed through a
• 9:59
  few people. And I and I was.

  I was, I was, I was you know I I had a lot.

  I was just like OK, so good bike.
• 10:06
  I didn't really think that OK somebody would give me a bike
• 10:08
  that may have problems and stuff like that.
• 10:10
  And it wasn't major problems but it was definitely things that
• 10:15
  were not disclosed and there were not things I didn't ask ask
• 10:17
  as well. So you know, no matter if you're
• 10:20
  excited about moving to your first race bike or.
• 10:24
  To a newer, new to you race bike, definitely do your
• 10:29
  research, definitely ask a lot of questions to make sure.
• 10:32
  Cuz some guys and gals, they're really meticulous with their
• 10:36
  bikes. Some others are not as much and
• 10:39
  you see that at Tech and you see that.
• 10:43
  At the racetrack I mean you know if you if you go to the
• 10:45
  racetrack you you you'll see it and and so it it is one of those
• 10:49
  things like do the research but now is a good time to to buy a a
• 10:52
  race bike if you're interested in in getting a race bike So
• 10:57
  that is my two cents on on the show I'll keep it moving.

  I will say this, I I, I, I run around KTM.
• 11:06
  I've been racing KTM this, you know, lightweight RC390 for a
• 11:10
  couple of years. I, I, I, I I thought about
• 11:14
  getting a Ninja 400 to to run in that class and stuff like that
• 11:19
  and you know I still stuck with the KTM.
• 11:22
  But a a few days ago Aprilia announced that they're coming
• 11:26
  out with a a light a ultra lightweight bike, RS450 747
• 11:33
  horsepower twin cylinder bike. That's going to be.
• 11:37
  That might be trouble for the ninjas.
• 11:40
  Might be. I don't.
• 11:41
  Nobody knows because we haven't written it yet, but it might be
• 11:44
  trouble for the ninjas. But I'm definitely iron that
• 11:46
  457RS6RS. I was already thinking about
• 11:51
  getting the RS660 from because I, I, I you know, Full
• 11:55
  disclosure, I raced the R6 from 2016 up until last year.

  Then last year, the year before I switched to the KTM when I was
• 12:04
  doing both. So for 2023 I decided just to
• 12:08
  race the KTM. RC390 and I I love that bike.
• 12:13
  It's a really nice bike, I enjoyed it a lot, you know.
• 12:16
  But it it is a struggle against the ninja. 4 hundreds for sure.
• 12:21
  If 22 same spec bikes, 1KTM1 ninja and you know the same
• 12:26
  rider, the the ride on the ninja is going to be faster.
• 12:31
  You know, I know in Motor America and in World Super Bike
• 12:33
  Kate, there's a KTM bike there and it does very well.
• 12:37
  But from my understanding it's a very expensive bike.
• 12:40
  So it's no one knows what the price of this approy is going to
• 12:43
  be yet. So that's going to be, you know,
• 12:47
  wait and see, but I I think Ninja 4 Hundreds might might be
• 12:54
  in a little bit of trouble. Might be in a little bit of
• 12:57
  trouble I have to say, so I can't wait to hear more about
• 13:00
  the the, the prelia and and see when it comes in who knows what
• 13:04
  happened. I can't say here and say it will
• 13:06
  be or will not be a bike for 2024.

  Well, it won't be a bike for 2024 for me, but maybe 2025
• 13:12
  because you know by the time this bike get into the US is you
• 13:16
  know the race season is already going to start.
• 13:18
  So that that makes it a little difficult to to have it.
• 13:22
  But nonetheless I'm looking forward to hearing more.

  I bought that a Prolia because the the ultra lightweight class,
• 13:28
  the the 304, well 403 hundred class, so nice class to learn
• 13:32
  how to ride bikes on and and it's very competitive.
• 13:35
  So I'm excited to see that there are more manufacturers getting
• 13:39
  in in that class. So shout out to a Prolia for
• 13:43
  doing that and you know obviously for those Ninja riders
• 13:46
  and our our threes and R C's you already know what it is.
• 13:51
  So yeah, that's a bike to look out for.

  If you're a new, if you're a new rider or rider who just, you
• 13:57
  know don't want the the the power of the middle weight and
• 14:00
  and the you know the Super bikes and the Super you know you
• 14:04
  already know you don't you don't want that that's it's a good
• 14:07
  bike to still have fun on. Because I do enjoy my, my RCI do
• 14:11
  enjoy the the, the R6 when I ride it as well, you know.

  But I do enjoy that, the RC, so I'm looking forward to the
• 14:17
  Aprilia. So there's Moto GP.

  It is ridiculous. I think we're still coming off
• 14:25
  of this past weekend in Mazzano with all the craziness.

  I think the biggest crazy part is Pedrosa, you know, finishing
• 14:34
  fourth. I think that's unbelievable for
• 14:36
  Rider, who's been out of Moto GP for about 6 years and finished
• 14:41
  fourth place in both races. That's, you know, you know, what
• 14:46
  can we say about that? Also that Dennis on Chu.

  He's moving to IKEA IOKTM and also Celestine Viete as well.

  And I was talking about him in the last episode saying, you
• 15:02
  know, he has to get a ride and and and what he struggled with.

  But these last couple of rounds, I don't know if that's sealed

  the deal. I don't know if it was already
• 15:10
  in the works. I'm looking forward to the next
• 15:12
  year to seeing him on a KTM on one of the one of the top brands
• 15:17
  in Motor Two I you know. In my mind at the moment, he's a
• 15:22
  favorite. I'm, I'm sorry to all the other
• 15:24
  writers out there, but he was, he was fast on on the on the on
• 15:30
  the VR46 race bike when he switched to when a team switch,
• 15:34
  he struggled. I don't know if it's a matter of
• 15:37
  who knows. I'm on the outside.

  I'm not going to sit here and give a list of what it could be
• 15:42
  because I don't know. But he definitely, we know that
• 15:44
  he struggled in the last couple of the last three rounds.

  He's fairly done well so it's nice to see him on.

  On on a new on a new team for next year and on a team that's
• 15:55
  won championship. So you know and I suspect he he

  understands that he has to go for the title.

  If you're if you're running on one of these top brands, Mark

  VVSVDS or in in in this case KTM, you know you're fighting

  for a title that that is what it is.

  So excited to see that. I'm looking forward to 2024 now

  I know Top Rock is fighting, but it's really those two of the

  other main contenders. Jonathan Ray has a chance, but

  the only two rounds left is 456 races left.

  So you know, and and the top three riders have been Ducati,

  well manufacturers Ducati, Yamaha and Kawasaki, which is

  very interesting, but really Ducati is running away with it

  and it's really, you know, the Yamahas and the Kawasaki's are

  fighting amongst himself. So it's almost like back-to-back

  and also to jump back into Moto GP, but really about Alvara

  Batista because he has a wild card coming up as well in Moto

  GP. So who knows if he's going to

  finish 4th in both his races on the Ducati Dubois fast or Ducati

  so and he's not afraid to he he was a motor GP rider one time as

  well so and he's been more competitive as far as because

  he's the he's in World Super Bike then Pedrosa who's a test

  rider so who knows what can happen but you know that is the

  world Super Bike and Moto GP. We got the new Aprilia coming
