- Shaun: Hello and welcome back to The Reset episode 98 with me, Sean Tucker. Why are you still waiting to feel the things that are holding you back? Why? Can't you just allow yourself the space and the time to feel the things that you've been avoiding? Is it that the pain is too much? Are you scared of what's on the other side? Or is it that you just don't trust yourself enough to let it go, to let it become released? Because if this thing has been with you for most of your life, I can understand why it's more difficult for your mind to let go of it. It makes total sense. The mind loves to cling on to whatever it can hold. It doesn't matter if it's holding you in safety, holding you in ecstasy, whatever the feeling. It will do all that it can to protect you from something. What it is protecting you from? Only you know. Only you can be with it. No one else can touch that place except for you. So I invite you in today's episode to just reflect, sit with it, be with it, see what it is. I promise you it's not going to be as bad as what you think it is because that's just how life is. Often we think that makes our problems a lot worse when in actual fact, if we just faced whatever we were. Facing head on. It's over and done with pretty quickly. It's the resistance. It's the persisting that causes the resistance and the resistance that calls the persistence. That's what gets us stuck in these emotional patterns, these emotional loops that stop us from actually achieving not only what we want in but who we get to be along the way. and how we are along the way. Because if you've been listening so far along with me on this journey, you'll probably understand that how you are is probably one of the most important aspects in creating a life that you really want. Because who you are, that's going to chop and change. What you have, well, if you're still chasing the metrics for success that are monetary, that are physical, it's gonna be really hard to become fulfilled from that place. Doesn't matter how many drugs you take, how much sex you have, how much money you make. And you might think, ⁓ but you don't have that level of success, so how would you know? have a look at all of the studies or have a look at all of the data on who are the most unhappy people in the planet the most uneducated sorry the most unhappy people on the planet tend to be the most educated the people who have the most riches aren't always the happiest either in fact if you look at some of the data you'll see that the more money someone has often the more unfulfilled they become because it's It's as if they don't know what to do with it. They don't actually know what it means to be connected with themselves, to actually understand what it is that fills them up. chasing other versions or other people's versions of success is a great motivator. know, doing things for the reasons of resentment, anger and hatred, they're all powerful fuels to get you what you want. But they actually forget the most key part of who you are. which is also the most important part in realizing how you are and actually creating a life of being joyful. Because how you are is that piece that most people are missing. They don't know how to facilitate an environment within themselves where no matter what life happens, whatever life throws at them, they can still be blissful. They can still be joyful. They can dance in grief and come out of it. They're not thrown into the deepest ends of the waters and they're not drowning. They dance and they come back to being joyful. They come back to being blissful because being human means you have a choice to choose how you are. How you are isn't always how you feel. How you are is dependent on your inner space, how you respond to everything that's happening. And for you to be alive is an absolute miracle. So leaning in on gratitude. Having this life, having this body, having this awareness, we have this experience to go through life. It's pretty damn amazing. when you look at some of the most educated places on the planet. some of the most technologically advanced, most comfortable societies. They're deeply unfulfilled, deeply unfulfilled and deeply unhappy. So it's not comfort that gives us happiness. Comfort can give us pleasure, but not happiness, not fulfillment, maybe temporary happiness. So maybe let's start working on this. Let's start actually feeling those things that you've been avoiding so you can start to create the version of you who responds rather than reacts. If you're on that journey right now and you need some more help, I'm always here. Thanks for tuning in today. If you found this helpful, share it with one person. I will look forward to seeing you in tomorrow's episode.
