- 0:46[SPEAKER_02]: Today, I have no old Darby IV joining me here in just a few minutes.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_02]: And who is Noble's Darby, if you guys have been listening in the last couple of weeks, you probably already know, he is the Brown's team chaplain, the one who helped organize and lead the Cleveland for Christ event that took place a couple of weekends ago.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_02]: So that interview is coming up soon.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_02]: This guy is a phenomenal, if you don't, if you're like me, didn't know that the Browns even had a team chaplain or that pro sports organizations had these
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: for their players for their organization.
- 1:21[SPEAKER_02]: This is an episode you don't want to miss.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_02]: And we talk a lot about faith and faith messaging within the organization and how it, you know, translates to the players.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: And then we discuss the Cleveland for Christ event.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_02]: and the upcoming plans, now nothing's set in stone yet, obviously, everything's moving, but there are plans coming up for events in the future, so you don't want to miss that stay tuned, and just hang out for a fun episode with a very awesome guy, nobles Darby the fourth.

- 2:14[SPEAKER_02]: So they have history that goes back and you just never know how these things are going to fall into
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: to help further your direction, his direction, everything comes together in such a beautiful way.

- 2:49[SPEAKER_02]: This fall is going to be a ton of fun.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so let's kick it all over to my conversation with Noble's Darby.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_02]: We all go!
- 2:57[SPEAKER_02]: Like I mentioned in the intro, I've got Noble's Darby the fourth sitting here with me today, the Browns team chaplain, and this is going to be a really fun conversation.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited to talk to Noble's and, well, first of all, how are you doing today?
- 3:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Josh, I'm good, man.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate you carving out this opportunity for me to sit down and talk something that obviously we both love, Cleveland Browns football, but to be able to talk about it from a different angle, which I didn't so I'm doing great, man, happy to be with you today.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_02]: That's awesome.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_02]: And so obviously this whole conversation came out of the Cleveland for Christ event that you helped lead last last Sunday or whatever that was I forget now.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but that was just an awesome event we started covering that on social media talked about it here on the show and a lot of people reached out to me personally and said this is really cool.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_02]: I've got, you know, I'm interested in finding out when the next event is.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll talk about all that kind of stuff.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_02]: But first of all, I just wanted to get
- 3:56[SPEAKER_02]: a little background on you because as a Browns fan sports fan, I don't know how many people realize I didn't realize that the Browns had a team chaplain and you're not just the chaplain for the Browns, but also the Cavaliers and the Charge.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_02]: So I guess what is a team chaplain?
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: What is your, what are your duties and compass?
- 4:14[SPEAKER_02]: What do you do there?
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_01]: So again, man, I appreciate the opportunity to have this platform that kind of speak into this because like you said, you know, the idea or concept of a team chaplain is still a new, you know, concept to a lot of people.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: You'd be amazed at how many conversations I have on a weekend and week out basis where people like, whoa, guys like you exist and not just in the NFL,
- 4:39[SPEAKER_01]: professional sports teams in the answer is yes, but just to give a little bit of my background and then connected all to, you know, what my role as a team chaplain entails.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm from Cleveland, uh, not Cleveland, Boring.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: I was born in Warno, Ohio, about an hour outside of Cleveland, but, uh, was raised in Cleveland, Ohio, grew up in Maple High, so Ohio shout out to the Mustangs.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_01]: And, um, there were two constants that were in my life, uh, ministry and sports.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_01]: So I was a three
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: but I also came from a family where literally everybody was a pastor, a minister of some sort, the family church we grew up in, my grandparents were the pastors, my dad was the assistant pastor, my mom was the Sunday school teacher, my mom was the music director, you know, and so literally those are the two main concerts in my life.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: I would literally leave from practice and go to vacation Bible school.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_01]: So like
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: So those were from the locker room, you know, into the prayer room, like those were the things that I just, you know, knew and what was my upbringing and so make a very long story short Josh at 13, you know, I just began to pray and ask God, you know, for what was my call in life, you know, what was this specifically he wanted me to do.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and I knew very quickly it was to be a minister of the gospel, which was terrifying as a 13 year old The kid to say the least Um, you know, I'm like, I don't know many 13 year rows that are doing this Um, and so out of fear I ran from that call for about three years But what's so ironic as it pertains to you know the whole chaplicy connection I'm making here in a second Uh, I was always the guy in high school being asked to lead our teams and prayer before we run out of the locker room
- 6:17[SPEAKER_01]: I was just trying to be one of the guys, but little did I know, you know, saying yes to guy at the age of 16, which is when I accepted my call to ministry, little did I know all the prayers I was leading in the locker room, what ultimately prepared me for what was to come 20 years later.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, I've been able to have, you know, a decent career in sports, but the ministry side of it is where things really
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: had the most impact.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: And so I accepted that call to ministry at 16 fast for the story.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: I get introduced to an organization called Fellowship of Christian athletes, which has been around since 1954 with a soul mission to lead every coaching athlete and to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and his church.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_01]: So I've been on staff now for eight years and along the way,
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: I just began to, you know, pray and just dream about how could I reach pro-athletes in my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, and through connections and relationships we were established through FCA, I basically got invited, you know, into all three organizations as the team chaplain.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: And so really, man, in layman's terms,
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: we are the hands and feet of Jesus to professional sports teams and organizations.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: So I would get blessed to do ministry to coaches and athletes on all of these pro teams.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm doing life with them because I'm a guy that believes before you can speak life in the people.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: You have to do life with people.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm getting to know them, their families, if they have spouses, significant others, children.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'm dedicating children.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'm baptizing kids.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm performing
- 7:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm there in times of grief when you know players and coaches lose loved ones and things of that nature.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm leading Bible studies throughout the week pre-game chapel services so anything you can think of what a pastor does for a church that's essentially what a chaplain is doing for a sports team so I've been in this space now for five years and it's just been amazing to see all the different relationships that get formed.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: athletes from other teams that engage in shopable services that you didn't know were profess believers.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: So I can go on and on man, but it's just a really cool space to be.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: But you obviously have to you can't be a fan, you know, you have to be in their own purpose or mission on assignment and not lose side of the fact that these are men.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: You know, who are just a little bit taller, a little bit faster, a little stronger, but they're in need of the hope we have in Jesus Christ.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what I'm blessed to do day in and day out, man.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_02]: Man, that is awesome.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_02]: I hope everybody out there took all that in because again, I didn't realize, like I said before that they had a team chaplain or what you would even do as the team chaplain, what your role would be.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_02]: that's incredible.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_02]: And it sounds like you've got a really good relationship and connection with a lot of the guys on the roster on the team because this whole, so the Cleveland for Christ event, how did that first of all come about?
- 9:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_02]: Who had the idea or how did I was it born?
- 9:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, so about three years ago, when I was coming into the Browns organization, I was just praying and I was asking God to give me some ideas of how we could extend ministry beyond the practice facility.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I grew up in an era where, you know, you saw a pro-athlete engaged in the communities that they played in.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I could go to my high school, and there would be, you know,
- 9:44[SPEAKER_01]: Um, uh, cops versus, uh, you know, caps players, uh, basketball games, things like that.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_01]: So it wasn't uncommon to see pro athletes engage in the community.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_01]: And so one of my ideas was man, how can we bring that sense of nostalgia back?
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: And so, um, one of the ideas that I had.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: was to do a city-wide baptism service, you know, and to just come alongside guys on our team and just open it up to the community, you know, share the gospel, them here, testimonies from their favorite players and, you know, baptized people right there on the spot.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: And so Daniel Thomas, I've got to give a huge shout out to my guy, D.T., He obviously got signed here by Cleveland, this past free agent cycle.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_01]: And D.T.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: calls me one day after practice.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: And he says, hey, no, you know, me and some of my teammates when I was in Jacksonville, we did a civilian call jacks for Jesus where we just literally went to a beach.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we gave our testimonies and we baptized people.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: He said, how would you feel about doing something like that in Cleveland?
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: And so I started laughing because D.T.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: and I had never talked about this prior to.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: So he doesn't even know this has been a dream and a goal of mine for like the last three years.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_01]: And so I share with him what it was.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_01]: And he simply said, man, let's do it.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: So that following Monday in our Player Bible study, we announced the idea to the guys.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: They were super excited about it.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: And Josh and literally two weeks, all the logistics came together.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: From then you to who was gonna do sound, to who was gonna do worship?
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: the t-shirts like literally if we had so much we had so limited time to put this together uh but the guys were adamant that they wanted to do something like this before they left you know for the summer break which i thought just speaks volumes uh to the men we have in that locker room one of the things i always encourage our team uh to do was to leverage their platform of influence
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: to point more people to Jesus and they leaned into that.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: We had about 16 of our players show up.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: I found out the very next day some guys flight Scott Cancels.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_01]: We would have had close to 30 guys from the team that were there and I think when you think about the fact that one of these guys schedules are in say I see it every single day.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_01]: The fact that they were literally preparing for mandatory mini camp, but they said, hey, despite all of that, before we're athletes, we're men of God.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: And we want to leverage our platform, you know, to tell people about Christ.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: So shout out to Man again to D.T.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: and Tyson Campbell and Blake Whitehart, Jack Stoll, some of our other guys that came out because without them, you know, and obviously the Lord, Sunday doesn't happen.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_02]: it's so cool just here in that story because I mean that's that's how it works.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_02]: I mean God puts people in your path and you know when you accept those opportunities like you said you had no idea or didn't your Thomas had no idea that you'd been praying about this trying to put something together and here he comes with hey we did this in Jacksonville.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's like right there it is the claim exactly that's so cool.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it is, man, I would just add this as well.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_01]: I think this bear is mentioning, there were so many players from our team that literally they weren't speaking that night.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: They weren't sharing their testimonies.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: They just wanted to be there when show support and show solidarity and unity.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I think about when we think about just the culture connected to Cleveland sports, but the Brown specifically, the guys would say, the culture is changing, but it starts with Jesus.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and so the fact that, you know, should do or in tail and green and, uh, Mason Graham Carson, you know, who obviously was the first to get in the pool and get baptized.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_01]: Rocky Sanders, the fact that these guys weren't doing anything that night, you know, as far as a microphone in their hands, their presence spoke volumes.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_01]: You know, for the community to see, hey, we watch these guys Sunday in and Sunday out.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_01]: But here they are literally standing next to me about to get baptized and worshiped.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: The same Jesus is me.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: Like I think that was so significant that we had so many guys that wanted to make a statement just by being present that day.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_01]: So again, man, I just got to shout out those boys because again, without them, you know, and this thing wouldn't have been what it had become for sure.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_02]: I posted about it on X and I had somebody who I'd never spoken to before.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_02]: She commented on the post and said, you know, hey, I got baptized as well.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: And she was like, very excited about it.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_02]: Talking about it and said that she got to sit down with Blake Whitehart and share her testimony with him and everything.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, this is just, I love hearing that kind of stuff.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_02]: It's really cool.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, when you think about the average fan interaction, you know, it's always around the game.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_01]: right, which is a man right as it should be, you know, because, you know, you go to these games, you go to training camp, you go to preseason games, and, you know, you literally watching them, you know, as a fan, and so that's why I think Sunday was so significant and so unique and shout outs to Rebecca, you know, that's where I talking about, she literally told me,
- 14:40[SPEAKER_01]: that she's always at every training camp, practice, you know, front and center.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: So for someone like her, you know, that supports, you know, the Browns, but to be able to engage with them in a different capacity.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_01]: Because this is something as well, Josh, that, you know, I think it's significant too.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: None at no point that night was anything about the Browns upcoming season, talked about.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_01]: right nobody was there the players none of the audience you know that was there nobody was talking about hey what's the win total going to be the season hey who's going to be the starting quarterback literally everybody was there you know to worship the Lord and so i think you know for people like Rebecca and others that were there it was just a different way to engage you know with um the players they all know and love but in a different way so
- 15:28[SPEAKER_02]: No, I think that's good, too, because it's kind of that concept of strip away the status, your fame, these guys are making all this money, and then you come there collectively with one goal, and it's all focused on Jesus, and then we're on a level playing field.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: 100%.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_01]: 100%.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_01]: And that's something that, you know, we've shared across, you know, the different media platforms we've been able to talk to.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think, you know, before we have done, I share with you, and it's been over 30 media outlets that have picked up Cleveland for Christ.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_01]: And then all glory to God for it because we know it's not about us, you know, we're just the vessels God chose to use.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_01]: Um, to get this message out, but scripture even says, um, if I being Jesus and lifted up, I'll draw all men into myself and so, um, excited to see, you know, how this thing continues to build out and go further, uh, because the boys in the locker room are hungry.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_01]: In fact, uh, when I was in the building the next day, um, they were all asking man, when's the next one?
- 16:25[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we can't wait to be a part of it.
- 16:27[SPEAKER_01]: Hate that I missed it, but I'm going to be there.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_01]: And so there's something that there a tide has been turned.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not even going to say the tide is turning.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_01]: A tide has been turned.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_01]: And I believe that specifically here in Cleveland, we're going to see more and more pro athletes in our city be more vocal about who they are as believers in the Lord.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm excited to see what that does, you know, in our community, especially the young athletes, man.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I remember hearing this quote years ago,
- 16:54[SPEAKER_01]: This said, it's a race to the heart of a child and whoever gets their first wins.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: I myself have a three-year-old son, Josh, I know you have children as well, and we think about all the influences vying for their attention, whether it's social media, whether it's what they're watching on TV, whether it's peers, in classmates, things of that nature.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: There's so many different things pulling for their attention.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_01]: But what would happen if at a young, impressionable age, right, if they were able to hear from their pro-affle,
- 17:24[SPEAKER_01]: hear them talking about Jesus.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: What type of fire does that set off in their heart?
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: You know, for them to wanna make a decision at a young age, man, if he can do it and he's in the NFL or he's in the NBA MLB, man, I wanna start following Jesus right now as well.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: So I believe the best is yet to come and we're really gonna see this thing spread like wildfire.

- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: That is really awesome to hear.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, over the last couple years, even I feel like, and maybe I'm just, I was maybe more out of touch with it before this, but I feel like there's more of these pro athletes, specifically the NFL players.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_02]: Quarterback, you know, you're more prominent players who get put in front of a microphone more often.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like there's a lot of glory to God right off the bat before they answer a question.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_02]: I see Jay Stroud comes to mind.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_02]: I know he's been very strong about that.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_02]: And a lot of other guys should or see others, I think,
- 19:57[SPEAKER_02]: Like, he's the one that pops out to me the most, because again, he gets the microphone put in front of him the most, and I feel like every time he does, he finds a way to direct everything back to God or faith in God's foundation and God just, to me, it is strong messaging for the young people, especially.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: And one of the things I love that you brought up the phrase, glory to God, because God's glory is something that we unpacked at a Bible study.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_01]: And I just asked the guys, you know, did they know what God's glory is?
- 20:31[SPEAKER_01]: really is because it's such a common phrase in pro sports, you know, man, I just want to give glory to God.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: And by definition, this may be a good teaching moment, you know, for somebody watching that has heard that phrase and you know, don't really have a full understanding of what that is.
- 20:47[SPEAKER_01]: God's glory is really the, is really the manifestation of his character, his nature, and his likeness.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_01]: So when we think about who God is, we understand through Scripture, God is loving, He's kind, He's merciful, He's just, He's all knowing.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_01]: And so at the end of the day, if I'm attributing something to God and saying this is for His glory, then let me make sure what I'm doing but more importantly, how I'm living, it matches up to God's glory.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, I've had to tell our guys, like, hey, be careful to say, I'm doing this for the glory of God, but then we see a picture you poppin' bottles.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: you know in the next post on social media like you know let's have some consistency here um it's so it's always cool to unpack things like that because man you know let's be honest we live in a culture where you know not only um guys glory is a common phrase um but this this phrase uh
- 21:41[SPEAKER_01]: I'm him.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_01]: That's a common phrase as well.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: Um, which is fine.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I get that, you know, you got to have a little bit of swag.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: You got to have some confidence.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but what I also challenge our guys, I say, yeah, that's fine that if you believe your him, but let's recognize we are who we are because we serve him.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 21:58[SPEAKER_01]: And so then the day, you know, let's all point it back to Jesus and, you know, so that's something I always get to have some fun with, you know, and just challenge them like, hey, do you guys really know and understand what it is that you're saying?
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: Because when we make phrases like that, you guys saying it's going to carry way more weight than just the average person, you know, the saying.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_01]: And so that's something that the guys leaning to as well, which I'm excited about because it's one thing to proclaim it.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's another thing to live it.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 22:26[SPEAKER_02]: Man, that is, I love that, that's strong stuff.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_02]: And I always try to do the same kind of thing to when people talk to me or say something like, hey, you know, congrats on the podcast to reach in this milestone or whatever.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_02]: And this whole thing is because of God.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the podcast started in a church.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: The church I used to go to when I lived in my previous town all because my pastor, it was a real good friend of mine.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_02]: He encouraged it.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_02]: It was all about, you know, if you have a dream that was, you know, given to you by God, then you need to, you need to go with it.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_02]: And so he made like a dream board in the church.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_02]: We had to write like our dream on a note card and put up there so people could pray over it.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_02]: So I wrote, I wrote, I like to have a, you know, like to make a successful podcast or whatever, and put it on there.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_02]: And then he always told us, you know, if
- 23:15[SPEAKER_02]: If you could see the full picture of what God has planned for you, you would never do it.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_02]: You could never believe in that moment that what he has for you is actually possible.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_02]: You'd be too afraid.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_02]: You'd say, there's no way I can do that.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_02]: And I think about that all the time, because if I would have thought back then, we're starting in this little church classroom with an iPhone camera stuck to the thing, to where we are now.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we just sat down with Bernie Cousar over the weekend, you know, at a polling event.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_02]: And I just said no way.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_02]: No, that's never going to be possible for, and I'm just this, you know, some guy from Dover.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: I love that man, but there's a scripture that says, don't despise the day of small beginnings.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_01]: And that's something that I think is fitting of your story of mine as well.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: At the end of the day, man, you know, a tree does it.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_01]: automatically sprout up in the tree like a seed first has to go in the ground.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_01]: Then that seed has to go through a process where it's broken, right?
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: So that what's inside of that seed as it's given nourishment as it's given water and sunlight, right?
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: It can burst through the soil and ultimately grow into what it was meant to become.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: And so you and I are both, you know, to God's glory, man.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: examples of seats that he's allowed to manifest into something that you know or myself could have ever imagined or envisioned.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: You know, people ask me all the time, like man, do you, do you, did you think your life was gonna go like this?
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: Did you think you're doing the things you're doing now?
- 24:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I said, Josh, and I tell them, no, one, I didn't know, pro sports chablacy was a thing.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_01]: So I definitely would be lying that I said, yes, and then too, man, we
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: man, I love Ephesians 3 and 20 because it says now unto him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above what you can ask or think.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: According to his power worth within you, right, God will all, if we have enough faith to trust him, he will always outdo whatever our wildest dreams and imaginations are.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_01]: And so, man, I'm sitting here with you only because, you know, I serve a God at things a lot bigger than I do.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_02]: Amen.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_02]: I love that too.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_02]: I had a pastor the other day actually said, and speaking of what you said there.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_02]: You said an oak tree is just a nut that stood at the ground.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, that's pretty cool.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_02]: Like, just a vision, you know, because this is just big strong oak tree and yeah, it doesn't get like that just a little immediately.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 25:42[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, man.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_01]: And to anyone watching, I just feel this is good to say, you know, if you're someone that has a dream, um, man, don't sit on that thing, you know, Josh and I are not sitting here because we're so much more brilliant.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_01]: That's so much more intelligent, so much more gifted.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_01]: At the end of the day, this is what I believe, man.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_01]: Our job is obedience and gosh job is outcome.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_01]: You know, if there's a dream and a vision and a goal that I did, he's putting your heart, you know, your job is to just be obedient and say, God, I'm giving you my yes.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_01]: And as a result, I'm trusting you with whatever consequences may be from that.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to be perfect to start.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_01]: You just have to be obedient.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: So I just wanted to encourage, you know, the viewers that are listening or watching this, you know, just say yes, lean in, watch what God does with it.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, just say yes because, you know, I had moments where I even said in prayer like, okay, so it's a, it's a Browns podcast.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's that really serving God.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I mean, yeah, where does this connect in the long run?
- 26:42[SPEAKER_02]: And now, here I am.
- 26:43[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sitting with the Browns team chaplain talking about Jesus to all of the followers who want to watch and listen to this and covering the Cleveland for Christ event.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_02]: We'll talk about the,
- 26:52[SPEAKER_02]: What's next for Christ here in a minute, but you just never know when it's going to click again, but you said, just say yes, lean into it and watch and work on a percent 100%.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, man, this this day in this moment was orchestrated well before you and I even knew yes.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, we're here.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_01]: We're sitting here simply because we say yes, and this is an Ephesians 320 moment right now.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, man, it's excited.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_01]: Like I can I can never stop being amazed at what God does because it always exceeds what I think.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, man, more to come, Josh, more to come.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited about that.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_02]: So for everybody wondering about Cleveland for Christ, the next event, when will there be another one, all that kind of stuff?
- 27:42[SPEAKER_02]: What?
- 27:43[SPEAKER_02]: What can you tell us about what's going on behind the scenes, what's in the works right now?
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, what's in the works right now is we are already having conversations about, uh,
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: running it back this fall, you know, from the excitement, the energy, the coverage, the momentum that has been established, you know, from the first Cleveland for Christ.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't feel myself, the players, other parties involved.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't feel this thing could wait until next year.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: And so we are in the works of doing another Cleveland for Christ this fall.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_01]: There's been so many
- 28:18[SPEAKER_01]: that have reached out and said, and I'd love to be a part of this moving forward.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_01]: Please let me know in the next one.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_01]: I wish I would have known about this.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_01]: I would have been there.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_01]: And so we're going, we're going to hold your feet to the fire.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to see if you're going to keep that same energy.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_01]: But we are, we are having some conversations right now.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I can't divulge and give too much detail.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_01]: But just know it is going to be bigger.
- 28:41[SPEAKER_01]: then the first one and when I say bigger it's not it's not to downplay or minimize what happened because God did something significant in that but if more people know about what's happening and this thing is coming man the impact that can be made from an eternal standpoint is going to be so much bigger and so we're excited for more people to hear the gospel we're excited for more people to come to salvation we're excited for more people to be baptized
- 29:08[SPEAKER_01]: so stay tuned.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: Details will be made available here soon, but we are working hard behind the scenes to bring back another Cleveland for Christ this fall to reach more people across northeast Ohio and shoot from around the country or the world because I've been out the country and I've met bronze fans.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: So yes, they're everywhere.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_01]: everywhere everywhere.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_01]: So who's so ever will?
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: Let them come but keep those eyes peeled.
- 29:35[SPEAKER_02]: Cleveland for Christ too is on the way.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: Sweet.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody stay tuned because as information comes out, I'm going to be sharing it, reposting it, make sure everybody is well aware of what's going on.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_02]: It's one of those things where I saw it after the fact you know it at art of the event took place.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_02]: And then I saw it.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_02]: I thought,
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: I wish I didn't know about that because I would have loved to try to be there myself just even take it in to talk, you know, to do something with the podcast, even just to promote it, which would have been really cool.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_02]: So hopefully, you know, we can connect for the next one.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no, no, Josh, listen, man.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_01]: You're on a short list of people that will be the first to know as Chef Zay.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_01]: And this, you know, guy in this space does an awesome job.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_01]: You know, covering the Browns.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_01]: We had a conversation and similar to what you said.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: He was like, man, I wish I had known about this.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: I would love to be involved.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_01]: He shared with me here recently, gotten baptized.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_01]: It's so nice.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so definitely I want to make sure we're able to get more hands on deck, you know, just due to the amount of time that we had to put this together and let me just say this like even in that like there were still about 200 people, you know, there were there that night with very limited time to promote.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_01]: and get this out there, but I know there's so many more people excuse me, across Northeast Ohio, that would love to support this.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: So Josh, you definitely have my word, man, you're going to be one of the first to know because we'd love to, you know, get this out to you guys, audience as well.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_01]: And even get you guys looped in to see how you want to cover it and things that nature.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_01]: Because at the end of the day, man, we just want to use this to point more people to Jesus so we couldn't be more excited and thrilled to share these details when they become available But I'm gonna make sure we connect after this bro.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_01]: So you can you you'll be on speed now.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_02]: Shout out chef's day.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_02]: I mean
- 31:26[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, Kenny Mac, who's another co-host on the show here was up at the Browns, um, tailgate, summer tailgate over the weekend, we're ending the chef's day.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_02]: So I reached out to him.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_02]: I've been following his stuff, too, and we're going to collab here over the summer.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_02]: So everybody stay tuned for that.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, good one as well.

- 33:00[SPEAKER_02]: And I just want to get your opinion on the Browns.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just talk Browns football for just a minute here.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_02]: And can you speak to the new vibe?
- 33:10[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like there's, you kind of already alluded to it a little bit with however, but he's more grounded and rooted in Jesus.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_02]: But
- 33:17[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like the energy with this roster right now is different than what I felt in years past.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's like we've got a lot of these good young talented players, good young men, good young leaders.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_02]: And I know I'm not crazy, but I just want you to speak to that because you were actually with these guys.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, I couldn't agree more man, you know, being a guy that is in a position of leadership.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm, I'm a huge proponent of culture and culture, healthy cultures are established by, you know, healthy people, healthy leaders.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_01]: And that's one thing that I think I'm really excited about in browns fast.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_01]: what can seem to be excited about is we get closures to the fall.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_01]: We've got a lot of just good leaders in that locker room.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_01]: I listen to a lot of sports talk radio and the phrase that I can continue to hear is youth movement, right?
- 34:12[SPEAKER_01]: And that there's this youth movement with the Browns and it's tangible, you know, the energy you were just talking about, you know, I feel it every single day.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm in the practice facility.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_01]: Huge shout outs, man, the coach, Mark.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_01]: And it's staff, you know, they've brought a level of excitement and energy and passion that is just consistent with Browns football, you know, again, man, I was born in 86 and so I was I came into the world during the Cardi and kids era, right?
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, I actually was a FCA.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_01]: We did an event with Brian Saib and Don Kakroff and Greg Prewitt in the Mr. COVID.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_01]: So just being able to talk with those guys and hear about, you know, browse football over the years and what that era represented.
- 35:00[SPEAKER_01]: Because that was a very exciting era of browse football.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: But to your point, man, there is definitely a new energy, a new vibe, and I'm excited to see how it plays out, you know, on the field this season.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to sit here and give a win projection or anything like that.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_01]: But you could definitely sense and feel it, man, the guys are hungry.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: Um, they love football, uh, they love playing in Cleveland.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_01]: I'm even guys that, you know, are coming here from other cities and things that I nature.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_01]: Um, there is definitely a, uh, a great energy around this team, man.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but again, you know, it starts with leaders in that locker room.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_01]: Like, Jared versus Ben awesome, you know, since he's been in Cleveland, like awesome, man.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like never in a million years, what I thought we'd get a player like that.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_01]: on our roster.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, he's from Ohio, right?
- 35:51[SPEAKER_01]: So I, you know, I know he grew up, you know, probably watching Browns games and things that I nature.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, everything is aligning, you know, for us to really have, you know, even more energy and excitement around what's going to happen.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_01]: And I think I saw post like 90 something days, man.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_01]: So it can't get here soon enough.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_01]: that the shores of Lake Erie are going to feel a lot of brown and orange energy in a way it hasn't in some years.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm confident of that.
- 36:18[SPEAKER_02]: I've talked to a lot of people that, you know, we'll get excited for the new rookies, the young guys, the people that are the new players that are in here, and then they kind of, the fans I talked to fall back on the, well, it's the Browns were never that good.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_02]: It always goes the same way.
- 36:33[SPEAKER_02]: And I keep trying to remind people that while the team hasn't had continued success over the last 30 years or whatever.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_02]: these players have that that doesn't impact these that's not because of these guys.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_02]: This is all new.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_02]: This is a new crop of winning mentality that I just feels different to me.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, you said it starts with leaders.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_02]: What is what is coach monk and like?
- 36:56[SPEAKER_02]: because whenever I hear him talk in the media or see clips of him at practice, I just think that to me, he feels like a football coach.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_02]: Like he's not a sugar coat and anything.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like he's not afraid to be honest with guys, rip him when they need ripped, praise him when they need praise, but I think behind the scenes, he seems like he's a good guy.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_01]: Oh man, 100% I've been able to connect with them a little bit since he's been in Cleveland, but Coach Munkin is one of those guys, man.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_01]: Don't blink.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_01]: You'll miss something.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_01]: Don't walk away.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_01]: You'll miss something.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he is a full of passion, full of energy, leader of men.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_01]: You know, his, uh,
- 37:39[SPEAKER_01]: his his diverse knowledge of football and you know the success he's had in a number of different places I mean I've reached out and have talked to the chaplain at university at Georgia.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really good friends with the chaplain at the Ravens and
- 37:54[SPEAKER_01]: all of them just had glowing things to say about, you know, not just who monkey is as a coach, but who he is as a man, who he is as a leader, and I believe man, Coach Monkey, and is exactly the leader that the Browns need for this time, man.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: You know, his voice, his presence, his energy, you know, his attention to detail.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's fun just being able to watch him weekend and we go do what he does and, you know, to see who he is, he's consistent.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, Coach Munkin is definitely going to have those boys ready to play September 13th.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: I think is the first game.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, I'm excited, man.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_01]: Coach Munkin is exactly what this team needed for this time, man.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_01]: So, he's my guy for sure.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: He's my guy.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_02]: that's great to hear because that's that's what we've been coming at it to like yeah you know he's got all this experience at the college ranks very successful dealing with these younger players and that's what we have right now is a team with a lot of young guys a lot of good young talents so you're right I feel like he's the right person to cultivate that and you know you mentioned Jared verse kind of the last thing we'll talk about here real quick because
- 39:01[SPEAKER_02]: When we talked about the Browns potentially trading miles gear and there was all these trade rumors going around and everything, it was all about draft picks.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_02]: What's the draft pick return, you know, how many first, how many this, how many that?
- 39:13[SPEAKER_02]: I was like you, I never believed or imagined we'd have got, we'd have been able to not only get.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_02]: a first round pic, second, third, you know, draft picks on top of a player like Jared first.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_02]: I watched him out there for the last two years with the Rams and every time I'd watch a Rams game, I'd sit there and go, I love Miles Garrett.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the best defense player in the league, but I was always like, man, I wish we had a good young, up and coming edge rush on the other side of him because one day he's not going to be here anymore.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_02]: Boom, lo and behold, now we have Jared verse.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, crazy man crazy.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_01]: I mean he's he's dominant.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_01]: I mean how many teams in the league can say they have you know the last two defensive rookie of the years on their roster?
- 39:54[SPEAKER_01]: You know Carson, man, you know shout out to Carson, man.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_01]: He, um, I think he for a good majority of football fans
- 40:05[SPEAKER_01]: put a lot of people on notice about who he is, right?
- 40:09[SPEAKER_01]: Now, you know, I'd seen him play at UCLA.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just a football guy, man.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_01]: So I, you know, I love watching ball in my mind.
- 40:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think I can still play my body business.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_01]: I was, but I, you know, I've watched these guys yearning year out and Carson put the world on notice like he's here.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_01]: You know, to come in as a rookie and be as dominant as he was.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_01]: And then you add another guy like verse, you know, to that defense, which you know is already a tremendous unit again, man, you know, that youth movement, that energy on that side of the ball, you know, because when we think about Cleveland Browns football, you know, in the dog pound, like man, it's aggression, it's for rociousness, you know, it's instilling fear, you know, in the opponent, it's about being loud and noisy and disruptive.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you know, you put eight,
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: on that defensive line, bro, like, look out, man.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: He was like, you said, you know, miles, obviously, generational talent, you know, first ballot Hall of Famer, you know, thankful for everything he did while he was here and Cleveland, but at the end of the day, man, we, I think we can still be just as excited, you know, when we look at, you know, who we got in return, not to mention, you know, the potential draft picks that will come in here and be able to make a difference as well.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_01]: So again, man, a lot to be excited about right now,
- 41:27[SPEAKER_01]: with Cleveland Browns football.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's for sure.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, Carson and Jared verse two players that I believe both of them were zero star recruits Come on guys squad.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_02]: I know Jared verse was from my research on him and Carson had to walk on at UCLA Yeah, so these are two young guys who Started with nothing as far as their NFL journey because yeah, nobody in college wanted them they had to go prove it They had to go earn it
- 41:52[SPEAKER_02]: defensive rookie of the year both of them just it still blows my mind like I love the story and I love that this is the new young core that the browns are building around so i'm i'm excited i think fan should be excited again i don't like to do a whole lot of win predictions either because you just have obviously injuries but i've been telling people just whatever the the win loss record looks like the end of the year
- 42:16[SPEAKER_02]: it's going to be a fun year.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think we're going to have games and moments that are going to be memorable that are going to go down and Cleveland Brown's lore.
- 42:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be stuff that we remember forever that that was the season this happened or this player did this or that or whatever that game.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_02]: Remember that game?
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_02]: I think it's going to be a season filled with that.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_02]: It might we might not make the playoffs guys.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_02]: We might who knows.
- 42:36[SPEAKER_02]: But I think this is going to be a season to kick off a good long stretch of Cleveland Brown's football to come.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I agree, man, you know, I'm excited about it again.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm blessed enough to be able to witness it day in and day out.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, I can't wait, you know, for what I've been seeing every day since, you know, me at April, the translate to the field, you know, on Sunday.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_01]: So, it's gonna be a lot of energy, you know, in the stadium, a lot of energy in the city, but the youth movement of the Browns is here.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_01]: So, I think I think we're in for a fun ride for sure, definitely confident in that.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_02]: that's awesome nobles thank you so much for jumping on here doing the podcast with me you know letting everybody know what you do with the team talking about the Cleveland for Christy event one last thing one last question i've had people ask me is there a way to get those Cleveland for Christy shirts you guys are wearing at the event people see those in the photos and the videos and like i want one of those and i'm just saying i'll ask i will find out for you
- 43:34[SPEAKER_01]: for sure for sure man we we've been talking about this because we do have a little bit of them left and we've just been trying to figure out man how do we how do we make them available so man I don't know Josh maybe it might be cool for us to collab you know sure figure out a way
- 43:49[SPEAKER_01]: you know, to get the shirts out to some people.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_01]: So, but we do still have some available, obviously, when we come back for the second one in the fall, there'll be some as well.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, we do have some.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_01]: So, stay tuned.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe maybe you're gonna be a little collab between, you know, the dog's podcast, you know, and that's to figure out a way to get them out to some folks.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_01]: But, um, yeah, I didn't think they were gonna be that big of a hit, man.
- 44:15[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I literally told my guys, I, hey man, just put Cleveland for Christ, you know, an orange on a brown T shirt, but, you know, they say, you know, on a life of their own.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, we'll figure out a way to get them to some people and we'll post it on social.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_01]: So, keep an eye out for that, too.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'll tell you, it was like two things that a lot of people seem to really love.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_02]: It's brown and orange and Jesus.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_02]: And you put those two things together?
- 44:38[SPEAKER_02]: you got to hit right there combination there.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, win in combination exactly.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_02]: One thing to real quick, the youth movement, not just like with the Browns, but I've got a couple of nephews that are in high school, one's in eighth grade.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_02]: And
- 44:53[SPEAKER_02]: They're wearing, you know, like they, they both play football, so they're wearing their fort fry football hoodies and it says, Jesus loves you.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_02]: And they're just, they're just wearing all the time.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_02]: They wear them everywhere.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, we didn't do that when I was in high school.
- 45:04[SPEAKER_02]: Now I was in high school about the same time you were.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_02]: So I, yeah.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_02]: You know, because I didn't walk around like the, the jock kids promoting, oh, Jesus is awesome and all this stuff.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_02]: And now yeah.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_02]: These kids nowadays, they're like, yeah, Jesus rocks, man.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, absolutely.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that point, man, it's just a realization that following Christ is cool, and it's not for popularity.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's not to try to get clicks.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's not to try to use faith to get a platform.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_01]: But at the end of the day, man, Jesus is coming back soon.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_01]: And so if it's a t-shirt that gets somebody's attention, that ultimately brings them to a place where they start relationship with him.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_01]: That's so be it.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, right now, I've got a hoodie on it.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_01]: Just it's just here to give God glory, right?
- 45:52[SPEAKER_01]: And so, you know, and it's dope.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like I would have never wore this in high school.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_01]: You know, the quality, the message, it's all pointing to the fact that, you know, if we want to see a change in culture, you know, it starts not just with what we're wearing, but more importantly, how we're living.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_01]: So, again, Josh, I appreciate you giving me this opportunity to, you know, come on, speak with you, talk to you guys, audience, you guys are crushing it, you know, definitely wish you guys continue to success and definitely want to,
- 46:21[SPEAKER_01]: connect further, you know, so we can bring more awareness, you know, to what God is doing through ProSports and Cleveland, and we'll get these shirts out to some people too.
- 46:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's awesome.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you know, it all goes back to what the athletes are doing, you know, on their platforms, promoting Jesus and giving Lord a God, and that's radiating down to the young.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_02]: the younger generation, I think that's great.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_02]: And it goes back to the work you're doing with the players and the foundation you're building.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_02]: So thank you for everything that you do.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_02]: Keep up the great work and I'm really looking forward to furthering this connection and more collab in the future.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I look forward to a man, go browse.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you again to Nobles Darby for coming on the show and talking about his role within the Cleveland Browns organization and just, you know, everything, his expectations for the season or some of his feedback insight to the team and the energy, the roster, just what?
- 47:19[SPEAKER_02]: these players are doing these young players are doing with their foundation in Jesus and delivering that message to as many people as possible trying to use their platform to spread that word.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_02]: And obviously that's what we're trying to guess what I'm trying to do here is use this platform to help deliver that message as well.
