- 0:00Speaker 1: There's nothing like live theater, and I will forever miss
- 0:03Speaker 1: that energy and that you know, instant gratification.
- 0:07Speaker 2: I was on Broadway, but now that I'm older, it's I.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Appreciate it so much more. I wish I could go
- 0:11Speaker 1: back in time and do it for my kids.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Welcome to Inside the Mom's Club. I'm your host Monica Samuels,
- 0:19Speaker 3: and I'm here with my co host, Julie Orchid. Hello,
- 0:22Speaker 3: Julie y, it's.
- 0:23Speaker 4: Good to see you.
- 0:24Speaker 3: It is great to see you. I know you're back.
- 0:27Speaker 3: You were with your daughter your nineteenth birthday.
- 0:32Speaker 4: I know it was kind of a really big deal.
- 0:34Speaker 4: I really try to be present for that, you know
- 0:37Speaker 4: what I mean, like be able to try to show
- 0:39Speaker 4: up as many as I can, because there comes that
- 0:42Speaker 4: day when they have a birthday and you are not around.
- 0:46Speaker 4: And so I just got on an airplane and we
- 0:49Speaker 4: went to the you know, I say, we Scout and
- 0:52Speaker 4: I my dog and I yeah, we went to North
- 0:54Speaker 4: Carolina and it was a great time.
- 0:56Speaker 3: But you know, and you were the best memorializing all
- 1:01Speaker 3: these events.
- 1:02Speaker 4: So I do it for two reasons. One, I can't
- 1:05Speaker 4: remember where I've gone or what I've done, and in
- 1:08Speaker 4: a year I want to know what happened. So that's
- 1:10Speaker 4: my reminder. But and then hopefully the kids appreciate it
- 1:14Speaker 4: at some point.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Well, you have great Instagram, I mean your Instagram and Facebook.
- 1:19Speaker 3: The things that you write about your children are so
- 1:23Speaker 3: heartfelt and so meaningful, and I'm just always moved by
- 1:28Speaker 3: them and the way you throw in the music and
- 1:30Speaker 3: you have wow, great pictures. And there have been times
- 1:34Speaker 3: when I've been scrolling through and I see one of
- 1:36Speaker 3: these lovely things that you've written about your daughter, and
- 1:39Speaker 3: then I hear you in the background on the phone
- 1:41Speaker 3: with her and she's yelling at you.
- 1:44Speaker 4: And I have to keep it real. I mean, you know,
- 1:46Speaker 4: I'm not gonna write on Instagram or Facebook about when
- 1:49Speaker 4: I yelled at my kid, for of course, but that
- 1:52Speaker 4: does happen, I mean, for sure. But here's the real
- 1:56Speaker 4: truth is that when I am posting something, I clearly
- 2:01Speaker 4: have a boss behind it. They're like, don't say that,
- 2:04Speaker 4: don't post that. We're not going to do that, mom,
- 2:07Speaker 4: you know so or God forbid, we've all had this,
- 2:11Speaker 4: please take that down.
- 2:13Speaker 3: So anyway, well, well, you know, when they don't want
- 2:16Speaker 3: to do it, So like I made my kids, I
- 2:18Speaker 3: took a selfie of the family at Easter Sunday services,
- 2:22Speaker 3: and my son intentionally looked disgusted, and I don't you know,
- 2:27Speaker 3: he wasn't going to have it an Emmy that nineteenth
- 2:30Speaker 3: birthday party. I saw pictures. Yeah, and she didn't look
- 2:33Speaker 3: like she was on board for this whole social media thing.
- 2:36Speaker 4: So well, there's a few times. But you listen, if
- 2:38Speaker 4: I'm going to fly there and I'm going to pay,
- 2:40Speaker 4: then you get to smile. That's my rule.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Oh well, yeah, I see how that rule worked this
- 2:45Speaker 3: last time because I saw the picture. So well, I'm
- 2:47Speaker 3: sure you've got some. I'm sure you've captured some good
- 2:49Speaker 3: ones too.
- 2:50Speaker 4: Yeah, well, totally we have.
- 2:52Speaker 3: We are so thrilled, I mean beyond thrilled to have
- 2:54Speaker 3: a guest. Yes, excit truly does it all and managed
- 2:59Speaker 3: to make everything look so effortless.
- 3:02Speaker 5: She does.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Have you seen their Instagram page?
- 3:04Speaker 4: Oh my gosh.
- 3:05Speaker 3: She is an actress. She's appeared on Broadway, the co
- 3:08Speaker 3: host of the nationally syndicated radio show On with Mario Lopez,
- 3:12Speaker 3: who is her husband, and she is the mother of
- 3:16Speaker 3: three children, the daughter and two sons. She is a
- 3:19Speaker 3: very busy lady. Welcome Courtney Lopez. Welcome, Hi, Hi, thank
- 3:26Speaker 3: you for having me, well, thank you for joining us.
- 3:29Speaker 3: We are so excited that you're here today, and we're
- 3:32Speaker 3: just so inspired by you. I mean, like I'm looking
- 3:34Speaker 3: through all of your social media and the Julie. The
- 3:37Speaker 3: first thing we want to know is how do you
- 3:40Speaker 3: get everybody? Everyone looks beautiful and happy and perfect all
- 3:47Speaker 3: the time.
- 3:48Speaker 4: Is that just you? The real truth?
- 3:50Speaker 1: I mean, well, like you just said, you only show
- 3:53Speaker 1: the good stuff. You don't show the yelling, the screaming,
- 3:56Speaker 1: the bribery behind it. Know that that was such a
- 4:01Speaker 1: nice introduction, and I'm just over here hanging on by
- 4:03Speaker 1: a thread. You guys, I'm just trying to make it
- 4:05Speaker 1: through day by day.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Well, that's also inspiring because that reminds that makes us
- 4:09Speaker 3: feel better, so we realize.
- 4:11Speaker 4: It makes every mom feel bad for sure.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Yeah, so tell us, now, you have three kids, what
- 4:22Speaker 3: what is that like managing? They're two are teenagers and
- 4:26Speaker 3: one is like eight eight six six years old? Oh yeah,
- 4:33Speaker 3: so how do you how do you balance all that?
- 4:35Speaker 3: Because you're also on the radio and you're producing things,
- 4:39Speaker 3: and you're busy. Yeah, how do you give us? Yeah,
- 4:46Speaker 3: she's a very very busy mom. So you know, it.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Takes a village, that's for sure. And my mom lives
- 4:52Speaker 1: with us, and Mario's family comes up a lot from
- 4:55Speaker 1: San Diego, and you know, with three kids, their schedules
- 4:59Speaker 1: are all over the place.
- 5:02Speaker 2: I'm a very hands on mom.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I get to do the radio show after I take
- 5:07Speaker 1: them to school, so I get to drop them off
- 5:09Speaker 1: and then I get to pick them up. You know,
- 5:12Speaker 1: it's just like I said, I take one day at
- 5:14Speaker 1: a time. Mario likes to give me a schedule for
- 5:18Speaker 1: the next month, and I say, stop, We're just going
- 5:22Speaker 1: to talk about tomorrow because it's just it's just too much.
- 5:25Speaker 1: He looks at it as work stuff. And then I
- 5:28Speaker 1: have all the gia. My oldest daughter is going here,
- 5:31Speaker 1: and then the boys are wrestling over here, and it's
- 5:34Speaker 1: like trying to, you know, put the puzzle together.
- 5:36Speaker 2: So it's just one day at a time.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Yes, that's really good advice. I can promise you. If
- 5:41Speaker 4: the tables were turned, Mario would be saying the same thing,
- 5:44Speaker 4: give me one day at a time, right, exactly what
- 5:46Speaker 4: I mean.
- 5:47Speaker 1: And right as I was signing on to you, my
- 5:49Speaker 1: daughter is emailing me from school saying she forgot some
- 5:52Speaker 1: day and needed something. And that's probably like twice a
- 5:56Speaker 1: week that that happens. But it's like she knows, right
- 5:59Speaker 1: when I'm about to do something, she's having to email
- 6:02Speaker 1: mom right now and see if she can drive over here.
- 6:05Speaker 4: Well I had to laugh. That's how it works, you
- 6:09Speaker 4: know what I mean? So right when you were about
- 6:11Speaker 4: to do something, but I did have to laugh. You
- 6:13Speaker 4: mentioned your teenage daughter. I had to look up slaying
- 6:17Speaker 4: this week when I was at the college and I
- 6:20Speaker 4: happened to listen to your show. I fell upon it
- 6:23Speaker 4: and I was like, this is so funny because I
- 6:25Speaker 4: just went through this of taking that little click quiz
- 6:28Speaker 4: on how they talk, and I consider myself to be
- 6:32Speaker 4: pretty hip, so but I failed miserably. How about yourself?
- 6:36Speaker 1: You guys, It's it's a different world, Like I don't
- 6:40Speaker 1: even know where it came from, how they communicate to
- 6:44Speaker 1: each other. I saw this funny thing on Instagram the
- 6:46Speaker 1: other day. It's this girl who's going for a job
- 6:49Speaker 1: interview and the person interviewing her just didn't even know
- 6:53Speaker 1: what to say because she was like doing all these
- 6:55Speaker 1: things with her hands and it's like a different language.
- 7:00Speaker 4: It is sense, doesn't you know what nebi meant how
- 7:04Speaker 4: did you know that one?
- 7:05Speaker 1: Well, that is that is from where I'm from, So
- 7:08Speaker 1: that's that means nosy, but that's just kind of a Pittsburgh,
- 7:11Speaker 1: Pittsburgh saying.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Whoa I see, Yeah, he did mention Pittsburgh, so that was.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Well, yeah, no, I had to I had I'm slowly
- 7:21Speaker 3: learning the lingo, like for the longest time. My son
- 7:24Speaker 3: was telling me everything was sick, and I thought, that's awful.
- 7:27Speaker 3: I feel bad for you, I mean, and then he's
- 7:30Speaker 3: explained to me that is yeah, that is not what
- 7:34Speaker 3: that means. In fact, I did a video for my
- 7:36Speaker 3: social media where I was doing gen z language and
- 7:38Speaker 3: I said, Okay, I'm gonna write this thing, Chase, and
- 7:40Speaker 3: I want you to look at it and tell me
- 7:42Speaker 3: what you think. And he just started laughing. He's like,
- 7:45Speaker 3: that does not mean anything what you just said, except
- 7:48Speaker 3: you sound like you lost your mind. And that's what
- 7:50Speaker 3: happened in this week. So yeah, it's hard to like,
- 7:53Speaker 3: how do you keep up with Okay, so we have teenagers,
- 7:56Speaker 3: I don't know, but we have this side where you
- 7:58Speaker 3: do the slang part and I had to look up
- 8:01Speaker 3: alt and I'm a nurse by trade, so I'm thinking
- 8:03Speaker 3: this person is altered, but that's not what it means,
- 8:07Speaker 3: and so I have to.
- 8:09Speaker 4: Laugh every time she throws like a word my way.
- 8:13Speaker 4: But we also have the other side of Instagram. So
- 8:15Speaker 4: you have three kids ages sixteen all the way to
- 8:19Speaker 4: sixteen I'm assuming, or fifteen. I mean six to fifteen.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Yeah, fifteen, twelve and sixteen, okay.
- 8:24Speaker 4: So all ranges some I'm assuming your six year old
- 8:28Speaker 4: doesn't have a phone or may have a phone.
- 8:30Speaker 1: No.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Yeah, So I was like, you're like old and Julie,
- 8:34Speaker 4: I don't know. So I'm just saying, in general, how
- 8:37Speaker 4: do you manage.
- 8:39Speaker 3: The whole social.
- 8:40Speaker 4: Media thing, the whole Instagram. That's kind of where I'm
- 8:43Speaker 4: going with that, because I mean, I sound I guess
- 8:47Speaker 4: older that it happens when you I think it kind
- 8:53Speaker 4: of ruins kids a little bit. But so how do
- 8:55Speaker 4: you manage that as a parent who has a wide
- 8:57Speaker 4: age range.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Well, I am so happy that I didn't grow up
- 9:01Speaker 1: with that. I mean, I think I was the last
- 9:04Speaker 1: generation to grow up with that without it. It just
- 9:10Speaker 1: I don't know, it's very stressful. But my daughter has
- 9:14Speaker 1: an Instagram. We just let her get it a few
- 9:16Speaker 1: years ago. But I can see it. I can switch
- 9:20Speaker 1: from my Instagram to her Instagram. Yeah, so that was
- 9:24Speaker 1: one of the stipulations. As long as I can see it,
- 9:26Speaker 1: and we're good. But the weird thing is they don't post.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Young kids nowadays, they don't post. So I'm like, why
- 9:35Speaker 1: do you want it? You don't post?
- 9:37Speaker 2: What are you.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Doing on there?
- 9:38Speaker 1: But they posted right away, well that snapchat which we've
- 9:44Speaker 1: gone back. Well, yes, my daughter has deleted Instagram post.
- 9:47Speaker 4: Ye, you're right, yeah, yeah, I just don't want people
- 9:50Speaker 4: think I don't know what snapchat is. Well, rapchat is one.
- 9:56Speaker 1: Of those where we've had it and she's gotten in
- 9:59Speaker 1: trouble and I have taken it away. So I don't
- 10:02Speaker 1: trust that one because they think these kids think that
- 10:05Speaker 1: because it disappears that it can't be screenshotted and saved
- 10:09Speaker 1: and right, you know, once it's up there, anyone can
- 10:13Speaker 1: show it again, screenshot it.
- 10:15Speaker 3: So well, they also have a thing now where girls
- 10:19Speaker 3: are not winning. It's they get older, so your daughter's
- 10:21Speaker 3: not quite that age. They don't want to show their
- 10:24Speaker 3: boyfriends because it's not cool to have a boyfriend, even
- 10:28Speaker 3: though you may have a boyfriend, so you don't want
- 10:30Speaker 3: to let the world know you have one, so you
- 10:32Speaker 3: don't show a picture of him. There have been articles
- 10:34Speaker 3: about this. So that's tricky because as a mom, I'm
- 10:37Speaker 3: always like looking at the kids social media is like
- 10:40Speaker 3: who who do you think Chase is dating one of
- 10:43Speaker 3: these people? And like can I I can't tell? You know,
- 10:46Speaker 3: I have to ask and so but now they're now
- 10:48Speaker 3: they're tricking us as it is. I mean, you can't
- 10:51Speaker 3: even be a good sleuth and figure out through their
- 10:53Speaker 3: social media.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Oh I'm a great sleuth.
- 10:57Speaker 1: I always say, I am an unpaid private investigator.
- 11:00Speaker 2: If you need anything, ladies, you just.
- 11:01Speaker 4: Call me, you right away, She's going to look it up, right, Yeah,
- 11:07Speaker 4: that's for sure.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Well all of America it wants to know. What's it
- 11:12Speaker 3: like being married to Mario Lopez? Tell us about more
- 11:16Speaker 3: and what kind of dad is he? Now we're talking
- 11:18Speaker 3: about you as a mom. What kind of dad is
- 11:20Speaker 3: is Mario?
- 11:22Speaker 1: He's honestly an incredible father. He is and I'm not
- 11:28Speaker 1: just saying this because he's my husband, but he is
- 11:31Speaker 1: a hustler ruin through. I mean that the man doesn't stop.
- 11:36Speaker 1: There's even times where I have to say to him,
- 11:38Speaker 1: can you just chill for a minute and just enjoy
- 11:42Speaker 1: the moment and you know, the kids, and he's always
- 11:47Speaker 1: thinking of the next thing because you know, he didn't
- 11:50Speaker 1: come from a lot, and he came from a great family,
- 11:53Speaker 1: but they didn't have a lot, and they supported him
- 11:56Speaker 1: and brought him up to la for auditions before things
- 11:59Speaker 1: were on zoom, So they.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Would drive three hours for a five minute audition.
- 12:03Speaker 1: And he knows how hard it is to transition from
- 12:07Speaker 1: a child actor into an adult actor.
- 12:10Speaker 2: So he's just you know, got a strike.
- 12:11Speaker 1: While while the iron's hot. So he just tries to
- 12:15Speaker 1: do everything. He's with the boys that they're wrestling practices
- 12:19Speaker 1: all the time.
- 12:20Speaker 2: They're always cont He just did a jiu jitsu tournament.
- 12:24Speaker 2: I don't know if you guys saw that.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I mean, he's fifty two, like I'm you know, there's
- 12:29Speaker 1: no stopping him.
- 12:31Speaker 4: Well, I can't imagine what it's like to have two
- 12:32Speaker 4: boys and then have the dad doing jiu jitsu. I
- 12:35Speaker 4: can't even say it much, but you know what I mean,
- 12:39Speaker 4: Like what that's like, I mean, is it chaos in
- 12:41Speaker 4: your house all the time.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Well, I thought having my boys are six years apart,
- 12:46Speaker 1: and I thought that that would be a big enough
- 12:49Speaker 1: break to where they wouldn't go after each other. Wrong,
- 12:54Speaker 1: completely wrong, They don't. It's not as much physical as
- 12:58Speaker 1: it is just them going after each other. It's it's
- 13:02Speaker 1: the weirdest thing. But what I was most nervous about
- 13:06Speaker 1: with my six year old is that he trained so
- 13:09Speaker 1: much outside of school with wrestling and kickboxing. I say
- 13:14Speaker 1: to him every day, you can't do this to people
- 13:17Speaker 1: at school. You can't do this. This is your self defense.
- 13:21Speaker 1: And he's really good about that. That was probably my
- 13:24Speaker 1: biggest fear with him. But at home, they don't really
- 13:28Speaker 1: physically go after each other.
- 13:29Speaker 4: Well that's good because I think Dad, I mean, he
- 13:31Speaker 4: could probably take them both at the same time. That's
- 13:33Speaker 4: what I think.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Now there are times where there's a wwe
- 13:38Speaker 1: in my bedroom on the bed and one's flying this
- 13:40Speaker 1: way and the other flying that way, and I'm just like, oh.
- 13:42Speaker 2: My god, I don't have time for the emergency room.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Can we stop?
- 13:45Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 13:45Speaker 4: Yeah, totally for sure.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Now is your daughter in Did I read that she's
- 13:51Speaker 3: in dance? Did she do dance competition or what is she?
- 13:55Speaker 1: So she was she was a competitive cheerleader for an
- 13:58Speaker 1: elite team.
- 13:59Speaker 2: And we did that well.
- 14:00Speaker 1: First she was a competitive gymnast, and then she went
- 14:03Speaker 1: into the cheerleading and we did that for a few years,
- 14:06Speaker 1: and then this year she started high school and she
- 14:08Speaker 1: decided she wanted to do their dance conservatory. So she's
- 14:11Speaker 1: focusing on that at school, which I love because it
- 14:14Speaker 1: brought her back to all the basics, ballet, tap, all
- 14:17Speaker 1: the things that I grew up with. And so she
- 14:20Speaker 1: did their musical this year. She's actually why she emailed
- 14:24Speaker 1: me was because she forgot her ten tights for tech rehearsal.
- 14:27Speaker 4: This sounds very familiar.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Yeah, so she's into that right now and I'm so happy.
- 14:32Speaker 3: So when she was into all the competitive things, I
- 14:35Speaker 3: have two sons, so I did the baseball mom thing,
- 14:38Speaker 3: so I know the competitive parent in school. So you
- 14:43Speaker 3: did the competitive cheer mom deal too. You had to
- 14:46Speaker 3: live through all that kind of stuff because I hear
- 14:48Speaker 3: that's pretty crazy. I mean, it makes baseball moms look
- 14:51Speaker 3: pretty normal from what I'd been told. Well, what was
- 14:54Speaker 3: that like?
- 14:57Speaker 4: She has the same reaction that I did.
- 15:00Speaker 1: I didn't speak when we first joined. I didn't know
- 15:04Speaker 1: what to expect, but it is insane, Like if you're
- 15:07Speaker 1: throwing up, you need to be there that's there's no
- 15:11Speaker 1: and I'm like, we're paying you like, we're paying.
- 15:15Speaker 2: You like and she has a fever and she asked
- 15:17Speaker 2: me anyway.
- 15:18Speaker 1: The moms, yes, they are insane. I mean, I don't
- 15:23Speaker 1: know how else to say it. I heard stories once
- 15:25Speaker 1: I got there about parents on the same team that
- 15:29Speaker 1: would fight each other and that would do certain things.
- 15:32Speaker 1: And I would hear other moms talking about somebody on
- 15:36Speaker 1: the team if if they touched, or if a point
- 15:39Speaker 1: got taken away because of somebody else, and I just
- 15:43Speaker 1: stayed away. I don't want any parts of that.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Never would have not like that, never have been.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I don't want the drama. And the one thing I
- 15:52Speaker 1: always told Gia is that you know, because she would
- 15:56Speaker 1: get upset, well, so and so touched and we lost
- 15:58Speaker 1: a point here, and I said, that could be you one.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Nobody's perfect. You could touch tomorrow and get a point
- 16:04Speaker 1: taken away.
- 16:05Speaker 2: So you guys are a team. You got to be supportive.
- 16:08Speaker 1: But but it's crazy the stories that you hear, they're.
- 16:12Speaker 2: True, they're true.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Oh yeah yeah.
- 16:14Speaker 4: And I think the trauma for me, be honest, I
- 16:16Speaker 4: couldn't do the hairstyles that they.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Was what I was wondering about a lot.
- 16:23Speaker 4: So, yes, their raids, the buns, the French breeding. I mean,
- 16:27Speaker 4: I begged her to go back to soccer.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Well, and also some of the outfits. I mean, you know,
- 16:34Speaker 3: they they're a little questionable at times, some of the
- 16:37Speaker 3: things that I disagree. I think, whatever, it's a I mean, yeah,
- 16:44Speaker 3: well I'm yeah.
- 16:46Speaker 1: I mean as far as the hair and makeup, you know,
- 16:48Speaker 1: me being on Broadway, I'm used to that kind of stuff.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Although I wore wigs.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Ninety percent of the time, so I didn't have to
- 16:55Speaker 1: do my hair and the makeup. Luckily, my daughter's naturally
- 17:00Speaker 1: at doing her makeup, so that was great. Although I
- 17:02Speaker 1: would have to do her eyeliner and it would be
- 17:04Speaker 1: a wing and it would be a constant fight because
- 17:07Speaker 1: I'm not a makeup artist and I could do it
- 17:10Speaker 1: on myself, but sometimes when you're doing it on other.
- 17:12Speaker 2: People, it's to.
- 17:15Speaker 1: So there were a lot of a lot of arguments
- 17:19Speaker 1: at five am, three am, ready do.
- 17:22Speaker 3: A lot of fun. Yeah, So does she want to
- 17:24Speaker 3: go and follow in your footsteps because you in the
- 17:28Speaker 3: dance and I mean she have aspirations for Broadway? Or
- 17:31Speaker 3: what do you think? Where does do you think all
- 17:33Speaker 3: these things are heading for her.
- 17:35Speaker 1: I our daughter loves to choreograph, she loves to direct,
- 17:39Speaker 1: she loves all things behind the camera, and I really
- 17:42Speaker 1: think that's where she's going to end up.
- 17:44Speaker 2: She when we do our tiktoks, when we do anything,
- 17:49Speaker 2: we really have to.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Beg her. But yeah, she just doesn't want to really
- 17:56Speaker 1: be in front of the camera, which wasn't always like her.
- 17:59Speaker 1: I think, you know, when she got to middle school,
- 18:03Speaker 1: fifth grade, I think is when of it changed a
- 18:04Speaker 1: little bit.
- 18:05Speaker 2: You know, kids are cruel and she.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Did a Christmas movie and after that came out when
- 18:12Speaker 1: she was in fifth grade, she just I don't know
- 18:14Speaker 1: what they said to her. She wouldn't tell me, but
- 18:17Speaker 1: you know, kids are can be a holes.
- 18:20Speaker 4: She me, yeah, they can. Uh, she may be just
- 18:23Speaker 4: taking a break, you know what I mean.
- 18:25Speaker 1: A long break. Yeah, she's she's she She definitely doesn't
- 18:30Speaker 1: want to do that stuff.
- 18:31Speaker 5: Now.
- 18:31Speaker 2: My boys, on the other hand, they love it.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Can they move, they can dance? Yeah for sure.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Absolutely. Well, tell us a little bit about your career
- 18:42Speaker 3: and where you you know, what you're doing now in
- 18:45Speaker 3: addition to your coast and you're into so many different
- 18:49Speaker 3: aspects of Yeah.
- 18:52Speaker 1: My husband there's just so many different things that we do.
- 18:55Speaker 2: And I met him on Broadway, which was so cool.
- 19:00Speaker 2: I you know, I did it since I was six
- 19:01Speaker 2: years old.
- 19:02Speaker 1: I did my first musical when I was six, and
- 19:04Speaker 1: I kind of was just bitten by the bug and
- 19:06Speaker 1: went to a performing arts middle school, performing arts high
- 19:08Speaker 1: school where Billy Porter went, and Pittsburgh where I'm from,
- 19:12Speaker 1: they really breed talented people. I mean there's a lot
- 19:17Speaker 1: of on Broadway. There were a lot of people from
- 19:20Speaker 1: just my hometown. And ended up going to Broadway and
- 19:24Speaker 1: you know, worked my booty off, but I met the
- 19:28Speaker 1: right people. It was just good timing for me and
- 19:32Speaker 1: ended up meeting.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Mario on Broadway.
- 19:34Speaker 1: And then when I came to LA back in two
- 19:36Speaker 1: thousand and nine, I can't believe it's long. I decided
- 19:40Speaker 1: to take a break, which, mind you, I was only
- 19:42Speaker 1: twenty six.
- 19:43Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm going to take a break, but I
- 19:45Speaker 2: my body heard.
- 19:46Speaker 1: I mean what I put. My dancers are athletes, yeah,
- 19:49Speaker 1: dancing in three inch heels on the wooden stages. You know,
- 19:52Speaker 1: I wake up every morning now I'm in pain. It's
- 19:54Speaker 1: from injuries that I didn't heal properly back then.
- 19:58Speaker 2: But I said I'm going to.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Take a and then I just never went back into
- 20:02Speaker 1: the musical part of it. I ended up just dabbling
- 20:05Speaker 1: in different things here, and you know, one thing led
- 20:09Speaker 1: to another, and I do have to say, there's nothing
- 20:12Speaker 1: like live theater and I will forever miss that energy
- 20:15Speaker 1: and that, you know, instant gratification.
- 20:18Speaker 4: Did you have a favorite show that you did.
- 20:22Speaker 1: I think my favorite show was a chorus Line, just
- 20:25Speaker 1: because it's so iconic. And but I did cry Baby,
- 20:31Speaker 1: which was the Johnny Depp movie. They adapted that to
- 20:34Speaker 1: the stage. It was the same people that did Hairspray,
- 20:37Speaker 1: and it honestly was super, super cute. The just the
- 20:42Speaker 1: show was amazing. But some just don't hit. Some just
- 20:46Speaker 1: you know, they don't. They don't last. And then I
- 20:49Speaker 1: went on to do The Little Mermaid, which now having kids,
- 20:54Speaker 1: I appreciate it much more. Back when I was twenty
- 20:57Speaker 1: four and twenty five, I'm a seagull fish. I'm you know,
- 21:02Speaker 1: back then it was insurance weeks, it was a paycheck. Yeah,
- 21:06Speaker 1: and you know I was. I was on Broadway. But
- 21:09Speaker 1: now that I'm older, it's I appreciate it so much more.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I wish I could go back in time and do
- 21:13Speaker 1: it for my kids.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Oh, I think that's almost for anything. We look back
- 21:16Speaker 4: like a you know, I lived in Scotland when I
- 21:18Speaker 4: was younger, didn't appreciate it as like why am I
- 21:21Speaker 4: oft in this nowhere? But now I would give you
- 21:23Speaker 4: anything to live there exactly.
- 21:25Speaker 3: Well, also kids, I mean The Little Mermaid. I remember
- 21:28Speaker 3: the film version of it. My niece, I think we
- 21:30Speaker 3: had listened to that on repeat. Oh yeah, one hundred
- 21:33Speaker 3: and fifty times and that was in a day. So
- 21:36Speaker 3: did your kids, did your kids get into The Little Mermaid?
- 21:40Speaker 3: And did you have to listen to it over and over?
- 21:43Speaker 3: And like you, how many times have you lived a
- 21:45Speaker 3: Little Mermaid in your life after ever performing in it
- 21:48Speaker 3: and having children?
- 21:50Speaker 1: I mean I played all those Disney shows for my daughter,
- 21:54Speaker 1: but the one that she loved was Tangled.
- 21:57Speaker 2: And we that would play two maybe.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Three times a day, just in the background or whatever
- 22:03Speaker 1: we were doing. And I have to say that probably
- 22:06Speaker 1: became one of my favorite movies. Just I love Mandy Moore,
- 22:12Speaker 1: I love the music, I love the storyline. So now
- 22:16Speaker 1: that they're having a live action coming out, my daughter's
- 22:19Speaker 1: so excited. Yeah, I'm excited because she's like a little
- 22:23Speaker 1: kid again.
- 22:24Speaker 4: Yeah, I also got to see that you got to
- 22:27Speaker 4: meet the pope? Is that true?
- 22:29Speaker 1: Oh wow?
- 22:31Speaker 4: What does one say to the pope?
- 22:32Speaker 3: Yes, let's hear it, especially hardly.
- 22:35Speaker 4: Being where he's from.
- 22:36Speaker 1: And you know, yeah, so I hardly said anything I get.
- 22:41Speaker 1: I let my husband take it. And you know, because
- 22:44Speaker 1: you I've never seen my husband nervous. I mean, he's
- 22:48Speaker 1: done X Factor, Live TV, you name it, never nervous.
- 22:54Speaker 1: And he must have practiced what he was going to
- 22:57Speaker 1: say to the Pope nine thousand times.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Oh wow.
- 23:01Speaker 1: And so it's it's like a receiving line, yes, for
- 23:04Speaker 1: the people that are able to go up and meet him,
- 23:07Speaker 1: you know, like the certain rows. So we go up
- 23:11Speaker 1: and he's like, you know, this is all I want,
- 23:14Speaker 1: this is all I like on my bucket list. This
- 23:16Speaker 1: is all I said. I don't even have to go up.
- 23:18Speaker 1: If you want to go up.
- 23:19Speaker 2: That's fine.
- 23:19Speaker 1: I'm just happy to be here in his vicinity, breathing
- 23:22Speaker 1: the same air that he's breathing. So we both go
- 23:25Speaker 1: up together and he just like vomited the mouth. He's
- 23:30Speaker 1: just like blah blah blah blah blah, And I just said,
- 23:33Speaker 1: it's wonderful.
- 23:34Speaker 2: To meet you, and that was a nice.
- 23:36Speaker 6: Let it.
- 23:37Speaker 1: I let him do it.
- 23:38Speaker 2: I let him do it.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Me standing there face to face with him was good enough.
- 23:42Speaker 4: I mean, how does that work with both of your backgrounds?
- 23:44Speaker 4: I mean you're Italian, correct, Yeah, and so and Mario
- 23:49Speaker 4: from Mexico or family in Mexico, so the pope is
- 23:53Speaker 4: a very common you know what I mean, and both culture,
- 23:57Speaker 4: so that it was huge. I thought that was cool.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Yeah. And then because he's from Chicago, that was another thing.
- 24:04Speaker 1: And my my sister had gone to college in Chicago
- 24:08Speaker 1: in eighty nine, so she's lived there for forever. And
- 24:12Speaker 1: so my mom's like, did you tell him your sister
- 24:14Speaker 1: lived in And I'm like, no, I didn't like what
- 24:17Speaker 1: he No, I didn't tell him.
- 24:20Speaker 3: That is such a mom thing to do. Did you
- 24:23Speaker 3: tell the pope that you know? Yeah, that's kind of funny.
- 24:26Speaker 3: That is funny.
- 24:26Speaker 4: That's hilarious. I love that party.
- 24:28Speaker 3: But that's exciting.
- 24:31Speaker 4: So I'm really out of this really burning question that
- 24:34Speaker 4: seems how many people did you have at this key
- 24:37Speaker 4: Sierra that your daughter? Yeah, this was a big event.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a big event.
- 24:42Speaker 4: She's taking a deep breath, She's like, y'all it was
- 24:45Speaker 4: a lot.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I had no idea what I was getting myself
- 24:49Speaker 1: into because that's not my culture that we don't do that,
- 24:53Speaker 1: we don't have parties like that. Yeah, so when I
- 24:57Speaker 1: took it on and I was like, okay, I had
- 24:59Speaker 1: no idea. It was planning literally a wedding without the
- 25:02Speaker 1: groom and everything everything else except the groom. So we
- 25:08Speaker 1: started off with two hundred, but then it got closer
- 25:13Speaker 1: to three.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:17Speaker 1: It's hard because you know now that g is at
- 25:20Speaker 1: a certain age, she knows a lot of kids, and
- 25:23Speaker 1: so she wants to invite a lot of people that
- 25:26Speaker 1: I necessarily wanted to put on the list, but I
- 25:29Speaker 1: didn't want to tell her no because it's her birthday,
- 25:33Speaker 1: you know.
- 25:33Speaker 2: And then she's like, why are your friends there?
- 25:35Speaker 1: From work there?
- 25:36Speaker 2: You know, And I'm like, what are you talking about?
- 25:39Speaker 1: So it was so beautiful and so amazing.
- 25:44Speaker 2: But there's a show.
- 25:46Speaker 1: They put on, dances, they choreograph, they do a father
- 25:49Speaker 1: daughter dance. I mean, I was holding rehearsals at my
- 25:51Speaker 1: house with twelve kids every week for a few months.
- 25:56Speaker 1: And while I was in that moment, it was complete
- 26:00Speaker 1: and utter chaos.
- 26:01Speaker 2: But once they can say was over, I pissed it.
- 26:04Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, you know, looking forward to the planning and
- 26:09Speaker 4: then the big yeah.
- 26:10Speaker 3: Oh yeah, well what if what does this mean for
- 26:14Speaker 3: the wedding someday? I mean, if she had all these
- 26:16Speaker 3: people and that was for the I can only imagine
- 26:19Speaker 3: like the guest list or even the bridesmaids. My son
- 26:22Speaker 3: is invited to this wedding and he said, there's fourteen groomsmen,
- 26:26Speaker 3: and I'm like, oh my gosh, they're gonna, They're gonna.
- 26:28Speaker 3: That's very god Yeah, that maybe a Texas thing.
- 26:31Speaker 1: But yeah, when I got married, I just had my
- 26:35Speaker 1: sister and Mario's sister. I didn't want to do all
- 26:38Speaker 1: of that. It was just too much, just too much,
- 26:41Speaker 1: And I think for me, I just didn't want to
- 26:43Speaker 1: put it on other people. Like I don't like to
- 26:45Speaker 1: put pressure on other people to do things, and I
- 26:48Speaker 1: don't ask people to do things for me. I like
- 26:49Speaker 1: to just handle things myself. So for me, the less
- 26:52Speaker 1: the better.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, okay, that's good.
- 26:56Speaker 4: Well, I know three hundred people is less, but that's
- 26:58Speaker 4: a yeah. No, I hear what you're saying, but it
- 27:03Speaker 4: sounds nice.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Well that's why I'm glad I have two sons. So
- 27:05Speaker 3: I'll be the groom's mother and I can just sit
- 27:07Speaker 3: back and you get complain yeh. Feel bad for myself
- 27:11Speaker 3: that I'm not the center of attention in this. Yeah, pressure,
- 27:14Speaker 3: I'll be fine. I'm sure I'll be fine. Yeah, I
- 27:18Speaker 3: know that. No, I know I'm about I think I'm
- 27:22Speaker 3: pretty close to having a daughter in law, so I've
- 27:24Speaker 3: been told, although she doesn't know that yet. Maybe yeah,
- 27:27Speaker 3: this show. Uh oh, let's not put the show up.
- 27:30Speaker 3: I'm to tell him pretty quick, you better propose before
- 27:32Speaker 3: this comes out to me.
- 27:33Speaker 4: I think that Yeah, she has a good told me he's.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Going to so we'll see. But yeah, so I'll just
- 27:38Speaker 3: have to be very polite.
- 27:39Speaker 1: I love my mother in law and that's the best feeling.
- 27:42Speaker 4: Its great, I'm sure so loving pressure.
- 27:45Speaker 3: That is great. Well, before we get to our zoomer moms,
- 27:47Speaker 3: one last question, So what is it like working with
- 27:51Speaker 3: your husband when you do this radio show? I mean,
- 27:54Speaker 3: is it different? Does it feel more like a business
- 27:56Speaker 3: like relationship at that point? I means it feel more
- 27:58Speaker 3: professional Like Julie and I we're very professional here as
- 28:02Speaker 3: you can see, but you know, outside of that, we're
- 28:04Speaker 3: just let loose all the time.
- 28:06Speaker 1: So that's how we are. Well, thank god our show's
- 28:10Speaker 1: not live because.
- 28:12Speaker 2: It would be bad. So we have the best time together.
- 28:15Speaker 1: We work together, but it's always in small dosages, so
- 28:20Speaker 1: it's not.
- 28:21Speaker 2: You know, I don't go to work with him and
- 28:23Speaker 2: then come home with him.
- 28:24Speaker 1: You know, if I am at work, it's only for
- 28:26Speaker 1: a couple hours and then I come back and then
- 28:28Speaker 1: he goes to Access and he does his thing, and
- 28:30Speaker 1: I co host with him a lot on that show
- 28:32Speaker 1: as well, when his when his co star co host
- 28:35Speaker 1: is out, kind of like a Kelly and Mark situation,
- 28:40Speaker 1: which makes it fun because I can bring something to
- 28:45Speaker 1: the show that you know, somebody else can't because I
- 28:47Speaker 1: live with them and I can. I can tease them.
- 28:50Speaker 1: I can you know, make fun of them and do
- 28:51Speaker 1: that kind of stuff. So that's basically what our radio
- 28:54Speaker 1: show is is just us talking about pop culture, the songs,
- 28:58Speaker 1: today's hits, and and me making fun of him.
- 29:02Speaker 4: I mean, you guys are adorable together. I mean, do
- 29:06Speaker 4: you make your kids cringe a little bit?
- 29:08Speaker 6: Are you?
- 29:09Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 29:09Speaker 1: Yeah, but you know they're going to grow up and
- 29:12Speaker 1: say my parents loved each other, Yes, they they didn't.
- 29:16Speaker 1: They don't see us fight, which we rarely do, but
- 29:19Speaker 1: we we have a disagreement. We don't do it in.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Front of them.
- 29:21Speaker 1: And no, he he's lovey dovey with me all the time, kissing.
- 29:24Speaker 1: I mean it makes him sick, but I love it.
- 29:27Speaker 1: I love it.
- 29:28Speaker 4: I figured, how do you how do you keep your
- 29:30Speaker 4: kids so grounded? I mean, they have a big life
- 29:33Speaker 4: and you live in a city that you know is
- 29:37Speaker 4: always on the move, because my daughter lives in La
- 29:40Speaker 4: So I mean, I'm just wondering, how do you keep them?
- 29:42Speaker 4: You know, are their chores involved, you know, homework? I mean,
- 29:47Speaker 4: how do you keep them grounded and not get such
- 29:51Speaker 4: a you know, big head so to speak.
- 29:53Speaker 1: You know what I mean, chores were working on chores,
- 29:57Speaker 1: They just they do it and then they don't. It's
- 30:00Speaker 1: very inconsistent. But I have to say that's partially my
- 30:02Speaker 1: fault because our schedules are so busy.
- 30:04Speaker 2: I mean, my sons have stuff seven days a week.
- 30:09Speaker 2: We keep we keep them busy.
- 30:12Speaker 1: My son is acting and he's on the Lincoln Lawyer
- 30:15Speaker 1: next season. He has a couple of or he did
- 30:18Speaker 1: four movies last year. Like he's getting all these things
- 30:20Speaker 1: on his own. So he's in acting classes, he's in
- 30:22Speaker 1: wrestling classes, boxing.
- 30:24Speaker 2: You name it.
- 30:25Speaker 1: So we just keep them really really busy so they
- 30:28Speaker 1: can't even get into trouble.
- 30:30Speaker 2: And so that's something that's your job.
- 30:32Speaker 1: That's your job. I mean, keep your room clean, when
- 30:35Speaker 1: you take your clothes off, throw them in the ham
- 30:37Speaker 1: or like come on, you know you can do stuff
- 30:39Speaker 1: like that. But for the most part, yeah, homework of course.
- 30:43Speaker 3: Well yeah, you're you just have a wonderful family. But
- 30:46Speaker 3: as someone who's just observing from yeah here in Austin, Texas,
- 30:51Speaker 3: you're just you all are just so impressive and amazing, amazing,
- 30:54Speaker 3: as we say are in the Mom's Club. Well, Courtney,
- 30:56Speaker 3: we have some moms who would also like to meet
- 30:59Speaker 3: you and ask you some questions. They are our Zoomer mom,
- 31:02Speaker 3: So welcome zoomer mine, Welcome to the Mom's Club. I'm
- 31:05Speaker 3: going to introduce you ladies and just tell us a
- 31:08Speaker 3: little bit about yourself and do you have a question
- 31:11Speaker 3: for Courtney. Janine, welcome to the Mom's Club.
- 31:14Speaker 2: Hi, thanks for having me.
- 31:16Speaker 6: My name's Janine and I live in Austin, Texas as well,
- 31:19Speaker 6: and I have two beautiful daughters and really enjoy hearing
- 31:25Speaker 6: about your boys and your daughter. I have a question
- 31:29Speaker 6: that regards activities outside of school and sports and your
- 31:35Speaker 6: you know, regular weekly and daily activities with your children.
- 31:40Speaker 6: But I'm under the impression that you have some interests
- 31:45Speaker 6: in philanthropic work, charity work. I'm curious as to maybe
- 31:50Speaker 6: a project that you've been involved with that has meant
- 31:53Speaker 6: something you know, particularly special to you and as well
- 31:57Speaker 6: as has there been any involved meant any encouragement on
- 32:01Speaker 6: you and your husband's behalf to have your children join
- 32:05Speaker 6: in and participate with that aspect of being a part
- 32:08Speaker 6: of our greater humanity.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:11Speaker 1: No, that's a great question. So my husband basically grew
- 32:15Speaker 1: up at the Boys and Girls Club of America. He
- 32:18Speaker 1: spent his childhood there and to this day we give
- 32:22Speaker 1: back to them. He's an ambassador for them. He's constantly
- 32:25Speaker 1: doing things to support that whole community because that's what
- 32:30Speaker 1: he had when he was growing up, and he said
- 32:33Speaker 1: he really wouldn't be where he is today if he
- 32:36Speaker 1: didn't have that, and he knows how important that is
- 32:38Speaker 1: for kids that need a place to go, that need
- 32:41Speaker 1: an outlet that you know, some parents can't you know,
- 32:44Speaker 1: afford certain classes and stuff.
- 32:46Speaker 2: So the Boys and Girls Club.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Is an amazing place and he just he said, he
- 32:52Speaker 1: owes everything to them. And then I also do a
- 32:54Speaker 1: lot of stuff with Jamison's Army. It's my best friend's
- 32:59Speaker 1: son was the same age as my daughter, who was
- 33:01Speaker 1: born two weeks after him, was born with congenital heart disease.
- 33:05Speaker 1: So they have this an amazing nonprofit charity that she
- 33:09Speaker 1: started and every year we do gifts for our birthday
- 33:13Speaker 1: gifts and we donate to their We just do that.
- 33:18Speaker 1: So I've taught my kids from the early stages that
- 33:21Speaker 1: things aren't necessary, and I make them aware of, you know,
- 33:26Speaker 1: how lucky they are and how healthy they are, and
- 33:28Speaker 1: how things can change in a heartbeat. And so maybe
- 33:31Speaker 1: getting that lego set isn't as important as to giving
- 33:34Speaker 1: get to somebody who you know who needs it. And
- 33:38Speaker 1: so yeah, we do. We do a great deal of
- 33:40Speaker 1: teaching our kids that kind of stuff because I feel
- 33:42Speaker 1: it's really important.
- 33:43Speaker 3: That's great, Betty, welcome to the Mom's Club. Do you
- 33:47Speaker 3: tell us a little bit about yourself and do you
- 33:49Speaker 3: have a question for Courtney?
- 33:51Speaker 5: Yes, yes I do. Courtney, it's so nice to meet you.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Nice to meet you, But I'm a mom.
- 34:00Speaker 5: My son is well, my daughter's forty, My son is
- 34:04Speaker 5: fifty seven. I'll be seventy six next week, and I
- 34:10Speaker 5: have three granddaughters. One is twenty seven. She just had
- 34:13Speaker 5: a bit.
- 34:14Speaker 4: I just want to I'm impressed, blown away. Yeah, go ahead.
- 34:18Speaker 5: I've been a mom since I was eighteen, and here
- 34:21Speaker 5: I am, you know, but finally I'm saying this at
- 34:23Speaker 5: seventy five. Actually at seventy was when I really kind
- 34:27Speaker 5: of had time for myself. So my question is, I mean,
- 34:31Speaker 5: I see how busy you are, and you know, for
- 34:33Speaker 5: me to have a daughter that was two years old
- 34:36Speaker 5: when my son was going to college, oh, shild care
- 34:39Speaker 5: in college, you know, so it was it was balancing.
- 34:41Speaker 5: The distance between the two was kind of tough. She
- 34:43Speaker 5: was going to parties and she was on the bottom.
- 34:45Speaker 5: But a mom to be a mom, even to be
- 34:49Speaker 5: a parent, I have to say this that the key
- 34:51Speaker 5: to being a good parent is being present and being patient.
- 34:57Speaker 5: And if you accept motherhood, it's going to be great.
- 35:00Speaker 5: According from what you've told me, when do you take
- 35:04Speaker 5: time up for yourself and how do you do it
- 35:06Speaker 5: without feeling guilty?
- 35:09Speaker 1: So Mario and I have always said that we will
- 35:13Speaker 1: take time as a couple. We feel that that's really
- 35:17Speaker 1: important for us to have an incredible foundation for our family,
- 35:20Speaker 1: because if we don't have an incredible foundation, then what
- 35:24Speaker 1: is there, you know, And then the kids are going
- 35:27Speaker 1: to grow up one day and go there's separate way.
- 35:29Speaker 1: They go on, you know, have their own lives, and
- 35:30Speaker 1: then it's just him and I left. So we always
- 35:33Speaker 1: we have date nights. We make time for ourselves. I
- 35:38Speaker 1: work out. I hate every second of it, but I
- 35:40Speaker 1: do it.
- 35:41Speaker 2: It's I like the result of it.
- 35:44Speaker 6: You know.
- 35:45Speaker 1: I'll get my nails done occasionally, I'll you know, maybe
- 35:50Speaker 1: once every six months, get a facial. I let myself
- 35:54Speaker 1: do that stuff because that just makes me a better person.
- 35:58Speaker 2: For my kids.
- 35:59Speaker 1: And I don't feel guilty about it.
- 36:01Speaker 2: I have to be honest.
- 36:02Speaker 1: I'm with them all the.
- 36:04Speaker 2: Time that.
- 36:06Speaker 1: I just I don't feel guilty.
- 36:07Speaker 2: How about that.
- 36:09Speaker 4: I mean, we're worthy of rest. This is something that
- 36:12Speaker 4: I've learned over time that that is a thing that
- 36:16Speaker 4: we do not allow ourselves, or believe it or whatever,
- 36:20Speaker 4: or have been told that, whatever the case is. So
- 36:23Speaker 4: thank you for saying that. Thanks for saying, you're not
- 36:25Speaker 4: guilt feel guilty, and you're worth.
- 36:27Speaker 1: And as I as I get older, I listen to
- 36:30Speaker 1: my body more so if that means I need to
- 36:33Speaker 1: take a thirty minute nap at one o'clock, and I can,
- 36:38Speaker 1: and then I do it because if I don't do that,
- 36:41Speaker 1: then I'm I'm worthless. I know what I need for
- 36:44Speaker 1: me to become a better person for my kids, and
- 36:47Speaker 1: I just I try and listen to that.
- 36:49Speaker 3: Yeah that's great. Yeah, that's how you've created a great balance.
- 36:52Speaker 4: And according to Betty Jene, it makes you more patient
- 36:55Speaker 4: and present. Yes, exactly, So those two things that the
- 36:58Speaker 4: advice that she was given a good hand in hand
- 37:01Speaker 4: with that.
- 37:02Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I love it.
- 37:03Speaker 4: And that's my lesson of the day.
- 37:05Speaker 3: So, Courtney, where can our audience find you? On your Instagram? Everywhere?
- 37:11Speaker 3: You're you all, You're You're all over the place. So
- 37:14Speaker 3: where can the audience find you on social media? And elsewhere?
- 37:17Speaker 1: Social media, the grocery store, you know, all the places
- 37:21Speaker 1: that target albeit target. I'm on Instagram. That's really the
- 37:27Speaker 1: only thing. I don't have Snapchat. I don't do any
- 37:29Speaker 1: of that.
- 37:29Speaker 2: I don't have time. I don't have time.
- 37:31Speaker 1: That's a full time job to have all those different things.
- 37:34Speaker 1: So yeah, just on Instagram.
