- 0:01Speaker 1: I'll start Toyota Presents Off the Bench with Jacob Hester
- 0:04Speaker 1: and Matt Flynn.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hester and Hester got it, Finetta fa.
- 0:08Speaker 1: From carrying each other to a natty to carrying each other.
- 0:12Speaker 2: On the air.
- 0:13Speaker 3: There's prop control.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Live from the Raising Kine Studio. It's off the bench.
- 0:41Speaker 3: All right, welcome back again our number three of ot
- 0:45Speaker 3: B here live from the Raising Kine Studio. Our three,
- 0:49Speaker 3: Our three has your back feeling bud real bad?
- 0:53Speaker 4: All right? Bye? Could curse? I would?
- 0:57Speaker 3: You can curse only certain first words, not these ones.
- 1:01Speaker 3: But yeah, all right, are we connected there?
- 1:10Speaker 5: They are cooking with gas so I don't have the
- 1:15Speaker 5: teleustraighter work, and yeah, technical difficulties on our part, but whatever.
- 1:19Speaker 5: We're still going to watch a little film because we
- 1:21Speaker 5: went a week last week. We didn't have any film
- 1:23Speaker 5: to watch. It was a bye week. But we are
- 1:26Speaker 5: going to watch a little bit this week. Throughout the week,
- 1:28Speaker 5: we'll be clipping it up. So a lot of negative, right,
- 1:30Speaker 5: all right? We lost Dama beat us. We couldn't execute
- 1:33Speaker 5: on offense. There was a lot of the same. But
- 1:36Speaker 5: I'll tell you what, there was a lot of good
- 1:39Speaker 5: as well that I saw on the offensive side of
- 1:41Speaker 5: the ball even from Nosmeyer. And what I'm gonna show
- 1:44Speaker 5: you is two clips from the same drive. It's the
- 1:46Speaker 5: first drive in the second half. Now, this drive ended
- 1:50Speaker 5: in very poor fashion, with Garrett taking an awful sack
- 1:53Speaker 5: at the end which eventually got him benched. But I
- 1:56Speaker 5: will tell you that from a schematic standpoint, there were
- 2:00Speaker 5: times that were scripted Firs fifteen coming out from the
- 2:03Speaker 5: second half. There you could tell that there was offensive
- 2:06Speaker 5: minded coaches that had to say so in the play call,
- 2:09Speaker 5: in the play design throughout the week because it was different.
- 2:12Speaker 5: It's things that we haven't really done before. We moved
- 2:15Speaker 5: the pocket. In the first half. We threw some really
- 2:17Speaker 5: good screens. We threw a normal like on schedule screen
- 2:21Speaker 5: to the running back, we had some play action, but
- 2:24Speaker 5: we also went under the center and ran a play
- 2:27Speaker 5: action fake. I'm going to show you two clips from
- 2:29Speaker 5: the same drive. I saw it now. They were both
- 2:32Speaker 5: good ended up being good plays. But I want to
- 2:35Speaker 5: show you the difference that can make that. We talk
- 2:37Speaker 5: about going under center some as a change up. The
- 2:40Speaker 5: state age used to shotgun used to be a change up.
- 2:42Speaker 5: Now it's going under center. But I want a balanced
- 2:45Speaker 5: offense attack. What does that mean. What does a balance mean?
- 2:48Speaker 5: It's not necessarily running past. Michael Leach, of course, gave
- 2:50Speaker 5: that famous like speech about well, you know, we thought
- 2:52Speaker 5: it ninety percent of the time, but eight different guys
- 2:55Speaker 5: get the ball. That's balance in a balanced attack to me,
- 2:58Speaker 5: is a lot of different A lot of people get
- 3:00Speaker 5: the ball. But you give the defense so many things
- 3:03Speaker 5: to look at. They never can guess and tee off
- 3:05Speaker 5: and predict what you're doing, whether that's under the center,
- 3:08Speaker 5: whether that's a pass, whether it's a screen, all the
- 3:10Speaker 5: different things.
- 3:10Speaker 4: So let's go to the tape here.
- 3:11Speaker 5: I'm gonna show you this first clip and I want
- 3:13Speaker 5: to show you the difference of under center and in
- 3:15Speaker 5: the gun. Now, both of these end up being a
- 3:17Speaker 5: good play. We're gonna get here again. This is first
- 3:20Speaker 5: drive of the second half. Weave the score seventeen to
- 3:23Speaker 5: three at this point.
- 3:24Speaker 4: So watch this. So we're in a pistol formation. What
- 3:27Speaker 4: we're gonna do.
- 3:27Speaker 5: We're gonna have a play action fake. We're gonna run
- 3:30Speaker 5: a dig route to the X receiver Z receiver. The
- 3:32Speaker 5: next is gonna go like an OTB over the ball
- 3:34Speaker 5: type situation. Yeah, but I want you to see the
- 3:37Speaker 5: linebackers and no respect for a play action fake out
- 3:42Speaker 5: of pistol. Right the quarterback turns us back for a second.
- 3:45Speaker 5: They don't even care, right, They just go ahead and
- 3:47Speaker 5: back up. Now, Garrett makes a nice throw. This backer
- 3:50Speaker 5: right here doesn't kind of a poor job because Garrett
- 3:53Speaker 5: doesn't even look him off, but he does. He just
- 3:55Speaker 5: didn't find the lane. But boom, good throw. Let's watch
- 3:58Speaker 5: it from the back. So we're going to go to
- 4:01Speaker 5: gun watch. Just watch the linebacker and safety the lack
- 4:05Speaker 5: of respect they show for that token fake right here. Boom,
- 4:08Speaker 5: nothing right, just maybe a little bit, maybe a little
- 4:11Speaker 5: bit hesitation, boom. Good play anyway, it's still good. I
- 4:14Speaker 5: love seeing it. I love seeing the play action. I
- 4:17Speaker 5: love seeing the quarterback turn his back to the ball.
- 4:19Speaker 5: Now I want two plays later, Lsu comes in under center,
- 4:24Speaker 5: and I want you to watch the respect that the
- 4:26Speaker 5: linebackers give to a play action fake from underneath the center.
- 4:30Speaker 5: There is power in turning your back to the defense
- 4:33Speaker 5: as a quarterback. It's a lost art in college football.
- 4:36Speaker 5: You're starting to see it come back and be relevant
- 4:38Speaker 5: again in the NFL ranks, but you don't see this often.
- 4:43Speaker 4: Why is it powerful?
- 4:44Speaker 5: Because when you turn your back to the defense as
- 4:47Speaker 5: a quarterback. When the defense cannot see the football when
- 4:51Speaker 5: it's hidden, they don't know what to do. They hesitate,
- 4:56Speaker 5: and it creates windows. It creates opportunities for your wide
- 4:59Speaker 5: receivers running full speed to exploit the hesitation by the defense.
- 5:04Speaker 5: So in that pistol clip that we just showed, he
- 5:07Speaker 5: turned his back. Oh split second. It wasn't really long
- 5:10Speaker 5: enough to get a good play action fake. But I
- 5:11Speaker 5: want you to watch the respect that has to be
- 5:14Speaker 5: shown by the defense when we turn our back for
- 5:17Speaker 5: a longer period of time and do a more traditional
- 5:19Speaker 5: play action fake. It's almost in unison, right, almost in you.
- 5:25Speaker 5: As they all come up, they come up, they come up.
- 5:27Speaker 5: One the mic linebacker almost comes up to the line
- 5:29Speaker 5: of scrimmage. Yeah, given our opportunity, Xavian over the top
- 5:34Speaker 5: on a deep over route or a deep cross route,
- 5:37Speaker 5: however you want to say it. Garrettnusmuyer is able to
- 5:39Speaker 5: set his feet. It's kind of backing up still a
- 5:41Speaker 5: little bit. I don't want to see. I want to
- 5:42Speaker 5: see his right hip going towards the target a little
- 5:44Speaker 5: bit more. But boom, get it over, throw it over
- 5:47Speaker 5: the line back. I want's call that between the hashes.
- 5:49Speaker 5: Almost watch this great We turn our back to the
- 5:53Speaker 5: defense and it hides the ball. It's not a great fake,
- 5:59Speaker 5: but that's what happened when you turn like this is
- 6:01Speaker 5: not a great fake. Now, hey, Kayden Durham leaves his assignment.
- 6:06Speaker 5: I don't know what he's looking at. He's trying to
- 6:08Speaker 5: get to his pass protection. I'd like to see that
- 6:10Speaker 5: mesh point a lot better right there. I'd love to see.
- 6:13Speaker 5: But look, even a bad fake from underneath the center
- 6:17Speaker 5: still gets this action. Look at that still gets that action.
- 6:21Speaker 5: And guess who he gets a throat over. Yep, it's ten,
- 6:24Speaker 5: the guy that we faked and we play action against
- 6:27Speaker 5: who almost got the line of scrimmage. If that's not
- 6:30Speaker 5: a good fake, or if we were in pistol, this
- 6:32Speaker 5: pass does not get completed.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Love it. I love to see this, and it's something
- 6:37Speaker 4: different that we just haven't done this season. First tun Tigers.
- 6:43Speaker 5: Yeah, and those are just things that like just little
- 6:46Speaker 5: things you pinpoint. That's what good offenses do. They balance attack. Okay, yeah,
- 6:51Speaker 5: we made a good play on the pistol fake. That's fine.
- 6:53Speaker 5: We made a good throw, But go underneath the center,
- 6:56Speaker 5: run the football of it. I'm not saying you have
- 6:57Speaker 5: to do it a lot. I'm not saying I want
- 6:59Speaker 5: I want to go back to a less Wiles type
- 7:01Speaker 5: offense right now.
- 7:02Speaker 4: That's not what I'm saying.
- 7:03Speaker 5: But you look at the best offenses in the world,
- 7:07Speaker 5: the best offices in the NFL, they are balanced attack
- 7:10Speaker 5: from being in the shotgun, being underneath the center. Now,
- 7:13Speaker 5: sometimes like a game plan consists in the way the
- 7:16Speaker 5: flow of the ebbs and flow of a football game.
- 7:18Speaker 5: Sometimes you get down, sometimes you get and you have
- 7:20Speaker 5: to do that. You have to go into gun. You
- 7:22Speaker 5: have to be a little bit more past centric. But
- 7:25Speaker 5: I just wanted to show you that because we haven't
- 7:26Speaker 5: done that. And you could tell that some there's some coaches,
- 7:29Speaker 5: offensive minded coaches that wanted to like there's plays that
- 7:32Speaker 5: they wanted to get in all year and they were
- 7:35Speaker 5: able to do it, and there was a lot of
- 7:37Speaker 5: good that was thrown out there. Now that foundation of
- 7:40Speaker 5: the offense has been set and he got set in
- 7:42Speaker 5: stone with the old old regime, I guess if you will,
- 7:46Speaker 5: on the offensive side of things, and like you can't
- 7:48Speaker 5: stray too far away, but you could tell that there
- 7:51Speaker 5: was little really good football plays that the offensive coaches
- 7:56Speaker 5: wanted to get in the game and they were able to.
- 7:58Speaker 5: There's just only so much you could do with a
- 7:59Speaker 5: week and a half half of game prep. Oh hey, yeah,
- 8:06Speaker 5: but that was beautiful.
- 8:07Speaker 4: Man, that was.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Can we also admit, like that's a very easy thing.
- 8:15Speaker 3: It's for me that they weren't doing it right that
- 8:19Speaker 3: like that like that right, and so it's like, oh man,
- 8:23Speaker 3: that's we saw it. But it's like, wait a minute,
- 8:26Speaker 3: why in the world was something like that not already implemented?
- 8:30Speaker 3: So like it can be frustrating at the same time,
- 8:34Speaker 3: and again, like we we go back and we talk
- 8:37Speaker 3: about the passing charts, like that's how you help out
- 8:40Speaker 3: five minutes, it's like you're for sure, yeah, for sure.
- 8:44Speaker 3: I mean that slowed that slowed them down. That helped
- 8:46Speaker 3: them out. But it's like if a football field is
- 8:50Speaker 3: fifty three point three yards, why one hundred, one hundred
- 8:55Speaker 3: and sixty feet If I'm doing my math right, quick math,
- 8:58Speaker 3: so you have all of that right and if you
- 9:02Speaker 3: only do it in fractions like that is so easy
- 9:06Speaker 3: for a defense and certainly like somebody like Kan Womock
- 9:08Speaker 3: who's been doing it for long he's been a head coach,
- 9:10Speaker 3: a successful head coach, and so like those are the
- 9:14Speaker 3: things I still like want to see though, is like,
- 9:20Speaker 3: you know, like the play you had, like Ravane Buren
- 9:22Speaker 3: saw was blitz. He's like getting the ball out there
- 9:24Speaker 3: blitz on a thought right back to the blitz. Let
- 9:26Speaker 3: me attack the blitz and he would have had a
- 9:31Speaker 3: huge play. Matt, I don't know that we've done that
- 9:33Speaker 3: this year. We have just like how quick he got
- 9:37Speaker 3: it just boom route get it out.
- 9:40Speaker 5: And I'm and I can't even really put that on
- 9:42Speaker 5: us because no, most of them the conceptually that past
- 9:47Speaker 5: game has been.
- 9:49Speaker 4: Anemic.
- 9:51Speaker 5: I've said it, and like that's why I wanted to
- 9:53Speaker 5: show a couple of good clips there. It's like we're
- 9:55Speaker 5: at the point in the season like I kind of
- 10:00Speaker 5: like to highlight the good right now. There's no reason
- 10:02Speaker 5: to like stay shaking our fists and getting mad at it.
- 10:05Speaker 5: And we are certainly we're gonna do our film review
- 10:07Speaker 5: article that we do every week. We're gonna do more
- 10:09Speaker 5: film throughout and what we'll highlight a lot of the
- 10:11Speaker 5: bad and the things that need to be improved on.
- 10:14Speaker 5: All right, let's not do this any good let's let's
- 10:17Speaker 5: get a little positivity in the air. We did do
- 10:19Speaker 5: some some nice things conceptually in the game, but like
- 10:24Speaker 5: nothing earth shattering certainly that what we were doing you
- 10:27Speaker 5: could have say. I think early in the season, I
- 10:29Speaker 5: was like, man, we need to be more creative on offense.
- 10:31Speaker 5: We need to be more creative. But the more I
- 10:32Speaker 5: looked at it, I was like, maybe we just need
- 10:35Speaker 5: to be like less creative and just go back to
- 10:37Speaker 5: just some basic football stuff, right. And they tried, and
- 10:40Speaker 5: they tried, but again there's only so much you can
- 10:42Speaker 5: get done.
- 10:43Speaker 3: And I was surprised that anytime you typically have an
- 10:47Speaker 3: interim coach and you've got some time to prepare, you'll.
- 10:50Speaker 4: See something.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Kind of like Babama in the game with right, something
- 10:57Speaker 3: like that typically, and you didn't see anything like that.
- 11:00Speaker 3: I've been shocked at Juwan Johnson, who's got like all
- 11:03Speaker 3: these high school records as a quarterback, every like state record,
- 11:08Speaker 3: has played running back all year and has not put
- 11:10Speaker 3: the ball in the air, Like that's something I was expecting,
- 11:14Speaker 3: Like something like that of that nature, why not go
- 11:17Speaker 3: ahead and see But again, it's a foundation I think
- 11:21Speaker 3: offensively that's so broken, Like even something like that feels
- 11:24Speaker 3: like it would be too much.
- 11:26Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean you had to have the feeling because
- 11:29Speaker 5: like I'm sure the coaching staff had the feeling, like
- 11:31Speaker 5: I had the feeling watching the game. It was like
- 11:33Speaker 5: we were in the game for so long. Just like,
- 11:37Speaker 5: just make a couple of different plays. Don't screw up
- 11:40Speaker 5: the end of the first half with throwing the ball
- 11:43Speaker 5: away and bad clock management giving them an opportunity to
- 11:46Speaker 5: go score and make it seventeen to three. I mean you,
- 11:48Speaker 5: I mean, how different you feeling We're going into the
- 11:50Speaker 5: halftime at ten to three knowing you missed a field goal,
- 11:52Speaker 5: knowing you've missed a lot of couple of easy opportunities
- 11:55Speaker 5: on offense.
- 11:56Speaker 4: Yeah, ugh, whatever, do you have the play? Do you
- 12:05Speaker 4: have the play backed up?
- 12:08Speaker 3: The one we're talking about, because if we continue talking
- 12:11Speaker 3: about it backed up where you're throwing into the blitz,
- 12:14Speaker 3: it's not just a highlight like a drop. It's to
- 12:17Speaker 3: kind of show you what we're talking about a little
- 12:19Speaker 3: bit here and the opportunity that you have. And it
- 12:22Speaker 3: was a good decision by Van Buren to to understand
- 12:25Speaker 3: what the situation was and you had an opportunity. And remember,
- 12:28Speaker 3: in that moment, you were down one score. That's when
- 12:32Speaker 3: you were down seventeen to nine. So yeah, you had
- 12:36Speaker 3: a chance, and I don't like I don't know where
- 12:38Speaker 3: it ends up. I don't know where that play ends up,
- 12:40Speaker 3: but it would have been a hell of a play
- 12:42Speaker 3: and at the very least like you're pinning them back
- 12:45Speaker 3: with a punt because of where you end up on
- 12:47Speaker 3: that play, even if you don't move the ball past
- 12:49Speaker 3: where you would have ended up.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Yeah, here we got it that.
- 12:53Speaker 5: I hadn't watched this on film yet, so it'll be
- 12:54Speaker 5: fun to we'll be watching a live breaking it down
- 12:56Speaker 5: line with you. All right, Look, we got a little
- 12:59Speaker 5: empty for a three by two situation, so we got
- 13:02Speaker 5: a five man protection. Oh we got four down linemens,
- 13:06Speaker 5: So at this point, from a protection standpoint is from
- 13:08Speaker 5: the center and the quarterback gotta be thinking, all right, lineman,
- 13:12Speaker 5: we're gonna be in charge of the four down plus
- 13:14Speaker 5: the most dangerous. So I think the obvious thing in
- 13:16Speaker 5: this type situation. Let's back it up just a little
- 13:19Speaker 5: bit from right here, you gotta be going Mike Middle
- 13:22Speaker 5: probably in this situation, because you got three defenders for
- 13:26Speaker 5: three wide receivers, you're thinking, you're alert for this guy
- 13:28Speaker 5: because of body language. Of course, probably not sending your
- 13:32Speaker 5: line there unless you know, no, no, that he's coming.
- 13:35Speaker 5: So if the linemen are going four down plus this
- 13:38Speaker 5: backer right here he comes off the slot, you're hot.
- 13:41Speaker 5: I mean, that's it. That's just football, baby, all right.
- 13:45Speaker 5: So they end up bringing five little simulated pressure. They
- 13:47Speaker 5: drop the backside end. Okay, So what do you do
- 13:49Speaker 5: in a zone pressure situations? You throw into the blitz.
- 13:53Speaker 5: You replace their guys with your guys because there's always
- 13:56Speaker 5: going to be old. This guy right here has got
- 13:59Speaker 5: a tough situation because he has to scrape all the
- 14:01Speaker 5: way over to carry three.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Vertical and he goes the wrong way. He bussed. Oh
- 14:09Speaker 4: this guy eleven bus he bad assignment.
- 14:12Speaker 5: Eleven has to be scraping over the top to carry
- 14:15Speaker 5: three vertical.
- 14:15Speaker 4: That's his job.
- 14:16Speaker 5: He busts bad situation, we see it. Throw in to
- 14:20Speaker 5: the blitz into it. Now he's not scoring everyone. Oh
- 14:26Speaker 5: he still be right on now. I mean he's getting
- 14:27Speaker 5: to their watch from the back end. This is a great,
- 14:32Speaker 5: great job, great execution. Sometimes they bring the guys that
- 14:35Speaker 5: you can't like. You're not you're as a quarterback. You're
- 14:37Speaker 5: saying all right four down, I got five a protection.
- 14:39Speaker 5: We're going to go to this guy. They'll bring an
- 14:41Speaker 5: extra guy. They they drop the backside number zero, backside
- 14:45Speaker 5: end number forty one right here.
- 14:47Speaker 4: Bus he should be scraping over the top. Tough.
- 14:51Speaker 5: And those are the plays you gotta make when you're
- 14:53Speaker 5: the underdog, when you're att somebody else's stadium. You're down
- 14:57Speaker 5: on the score. And he's done so many great things. Yeah,
- 14:59Speaker 5: so many great things. I mean, everybody's got to drop passes.
- 15:01Speaker 5: This isn't poping on him. It's just unfortunate. Happened right there,
- 15:06Speaker 5: that situation. New quarterback in there, got played, got played.
- 15:10Speaker 4: His ass off.
- 15:11Speaker 6: I thought, yeah, I like the quick decision, quick decision,
- 15:20Speaker 6: that concept, like, I don't know, man, just simple.
- 15:24Speaker 5: It's just simple ball. It hadn't it doesn't look like
- 15:26Speaker 5: they were they were ready for it.
- 15:28Speaker 4: He peaked.
- 15:29Speaker 5: That wasn't He wasn't supposed to run something quick right there.
- 15:31Speaker 5: But they blitzed off his face. He came off his
- 15:33Speaker 5: face and he peaked. Yep, it's good. It was good
- 15:36Speaker 5: football just got.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Oh. It could have been end up on the thirty
- 15:43Speaker 4: five there.
- 15:45Speaker 3: Who knows what happens from there, but gotta make those
- 15:47Speaker 3: plays in a game like that. You gotta make them
- 15:49Speaker 3: or you'll have the same situation play out. You give
- 15:52Speaker 3: him the ball back, they kicked the field goal, game
- 15:54Speaker 3: got out of hand, Tiger's loose. All right, we'll step
- 15:57Speaker 3: away more OTB when we come back here live from
- 15:59Speaker 3: the is in King studio.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Off the bench, all right.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Go to Russell Pools dot com.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Russell Pools dot com the website for Russell pool a company,
- 16:07Speaker 3: and as you'll see there on the homepage, they have
- 16:09Speaker 3: got incredible, incredible pools, incredible gallery right there. And I
- 16:14Speaker 3: always encourage you, like your dream pool is your dream pool,
- 16:17Speaker 3: and you've been dreaming of it for your entire life.
- 16:20Speaker 3: That's why they call it a dream pool. But maybe
- 16:23Speaker 3: your dream pool is like six combinations of somebody else's dream, right,

- 17:54Speaker 1: I'm guilding old and night.
- 17:56Speaker 2: It's something too, So it's.
- 18:03Speaker 4: All right. Welcome back in OTB. Here live from the
- 18:07Speaker 4: Raising Caines Studio.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Hopefully you'll all enjoyed the weekend, and hopefully y'all all
- 18:16Speaker 3: enjoyed a ice cold do sequies during the weekend always
- 18:20Speaker 3: a great time to go to the dose. Going to
- 18:24Speaker 3: be back for a tail getting weekend this weekend. So
- 18:26Speaker 3: if you're around Tiger Stadium, make sure that you've got
- 18:29Speaker 3: that ice cold do sequis in hand. Don't know the weather,
- 18:33Speaker 3: but it doesn't matter. It's always a great time to
- 18:34Speaker 3: go for dose.
- 18:35Speaker 5: Make sure you get a little maybe I put a
- 18:36Speaker 5: cooozie on it. It's chilli outside, that's true. That's a
- 18:39Speaker 5: good favor hand. It's a good point.
- 18:41Speaker 3: One of the things that I wanted to point out
- 18:43Speaker 3: is we go back real quick here to the New
- 18:45Speaker 3: Orleans Saints victory over Carolina seventeen to seven.
- 18:49Speaker 4: One thing that certainly stood out.
- 18:50Speaker 3: As you look at the pro football focused grades and
- 18:54Speaker 3: you looked at the actual, you know, play on the field.
- 18:57Speaker 3: I think one of the reasons why you had some
- 19:00Speaker 3: access and you had a great performance by Tyler Shuck
- 19:03Speaker 3: and again he had great pocket presence and it was
- 19:05Speaker 3: a really good job by him.
- 19:06Speaker 4: But Caesar Ruiz seventy four, say four, what grade? Shut up?
- 19:12Speaker 4: Swear to god liar.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Kelvin Banks Junior seventy two. Panthers are asked, I don't care.
- 19:21Speaker 3: I hadn't seen those grades in a long time. Certainly
- 19:23Speaker 3: that's amazing. Good for them. Past blocking grade for Caesar
- 19:26Speaker 3: eighty eight point six. He had been in the forties,
- 19:29Speaker 3: he's been the thirty thirties.
- 19:30Speaker 7: Yeah, don't look now, don't.
- 19:32Speaker 4: Let that make it hot.
- 19:32Speaker 3: Let's see who so Kelvin Banks eighty seven point eight.
- 19:35Speaker 3: So the protection was was actually there for the New
- 19:40Speaker 3: Orleans Saints. And I'm looking so let me pull up Caesar.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Let me see if I can pull up the hotel.
- 19:47Speaker 5: The protection was there, but chuck, he chuck did his
- 19:50Speaker 5: best work on unscheduled plays, though, certainly.
- 19:52Speaker 3: So okay, And if you want to try to right
- 19:57Speaker 3: find maybe some different is here.
- 20:00Speaker 4: All right?
- 20:01Speaker 3: So this was Caesar graded past blocking grade at eighty
- 20:05Speaker 3: eight point six.
- 20:07Speaker 4: Okay.
- 20:08Speaker 3: The week before he was sixty five. The week before
- 20:11Speaker 3: that he was sixty three point three. The week before
- 20:13Speaker 3: that he was forty nine point one. Week three he
- 20:15Speaker 3: was forty seven point three. Week two he was thirty
- 20:18Speaker 3: five point seven. And this isn't it's every week on Caesaruiz.
- 20:22Speaker 4: It's like.
- 20:25Speaker 3: No, it's just actual, like NFL level protection that they
- 20:28Speaker 3: finally we're able to give him.
- 20:30Speaker 5: The chatter said that Caesar Ruis cheated on his test
- 20:33Speaker 5: this week. Well he needs to cheat every week, sat
- 20:36Speaker 5: next to a smart person. Well, good for him. He
- 20:38Speaker 5: needs to do it every single week. I think you
- 20:40Speaker 5: just read off all the grades the past couple weeks.
- 20:41Speaker 5: It looks like there's improvement every single week. Now it
- 20:45Speaker 5: started in the thirties, started from the bottom.
- 20:47Speaker 4: Now we hear now it wasn't for everybody.
- 20:51Speaker 3: I mean the right side of your or sorry, left side, yeah,
- 20:57Speaker 3: left guard forty five point five, your right tackles fifty five,
- 21:02Speaker 3: so not horrible.
- 21:04Speaker 4: What was Luke fordner forder? Actually I thought he played willis.
- 21:08Speaker 3: See overall grades sixty nine point two pass block and
- 21:12Speaker 3: grade seventy eight point three.
- 21:14Speaker 8: So it will just I mean when McCoy went down,
- 21:17Speaker 8: everyone said, oh, that's by far your best lineman.
- 21:19Speaker 4: You're going to struggle there. I thought he's played well, yeah,
- 21:22Speaker 4: it's funny though, like these grades are great.
- 21:24Speaker 3: But to Matt's point, I thought Tyler Schuck was best
- 21:26Speaker 3: whenever he kind of created on his own a little bit, certainly.
- 21:30Speaker 4: Extended to play a little bit.
- 21:31Speaker 3: The coverage got laxed because they thought he was either
- 21:33Speaker 3: down or he was going to take off, and he
- 21:36Speaker 3: did a really nice job of stepping up and then
- 21:38Speaker 3: kind of going sideways down the line of scrimmage to
- 21:41Speaker 3: buy some more time, and he found two guys I
- 21:44Speaker 3: know opened off that that were big plays.
- 21:46Speaker 5: Absolutely, and it started. It started out early on in
- 21:48Speaker 5: that was it the scramble out the middle? Is it
- 21:52Speaker 5: a passage Johnson?
- 21:54Speaker 3: Early?
- 21:54Speaker 5: Yeah, on the left side of the field, that down
- 21:56Speaker 5: the field, great throw, great great pocket presence, drives down
- 22:00Speaker 5: the field, finding a guy making the play.
- 22:03Speaker 4: That's what you gotta do. And I thought he did.
- 22:05Speaker 4: I thought he played a great game.
- 22:06Speaker 5: If he could start stacking games like that, if that
- 22:09Speaker 5: is going to be Tyler Shuck's normal.
- 22:11Speaker 4: Type of game, then the Saints got a good one.
- 22:14Speaker 4: We got it.
- 22:14Speaker 5: Like I can't wait to see him play again, can't
- 22:16Speaker 5: wait to see his offense play again. You hope it
- 22:19Speaker 5: wouldn't just like a flash of the fan. I don't
- 22:20Speaker 5: think it was. I mean those were real football. I
- 22:22Speaker 5: mean those it wasn't like a It wasn't like an accident.
- 22:25Speaker 5: Wasn't I accidentally found him. They presented you some open
- 22:29Speaker 5: guys when you were able to extend the play, and
- 22:33Speaker 5: you took advantage of it.
- 22:34Speaker 4: And that's what good teams do. That easy. Not a
- 22:37Speaker 4: good team, but that's what a winning team does.
- 22:40Speaker 7: Yeah, the Falcons next, who aren't looking great, No, Falcon.
- 22:44Speaker 3: I mean they had some moments against the Colts, had
- 22:46Speaker 3: an opportunity against the Colts.
- 22:48Speaker 5: They did, but they took him to overtime. Yeah, that
- 22:51Speaker 5: was a great game that that early. Yeah, start out
- 22:55Speaker 5: to day, right, MVP. How about the NFL MVP JO, Like,
- 23:01Speaker 5: I agree with y'all now.
- 23:02Speaker 7: Like after the game, he's he's definitely in the conversation
- 23:06Speaker 7: for me before, but after that game he has got
- 23:08Speaker 7: to be.
- 23:09Speaker 8: Then at the end of the game, you know who
- 23:11Speaker 8: they're going to overtime, We're gonna go to Jonathan Taylor.
- 23:14Speaker 4: Still can't stop him. It doesn't matter.
- 23:16Speaker 5: He's gonna need about five or six more of those
- 23:18Speaker 5: types of games to be able to win it. Because
- 23:20Speaker 5: it's a quarterback award.
- 23:21Speaker 4: He can do it because he's had about five already.
- 23:23Speaker 4: To your point, I don't know, dude. Well, look at
- 23:26Speaker 4: what Stafford's doing right now. I get it. He's my MVP.
- 23:28Speaker 5: I think in the last couple of games he's had
- 23:30Speaker 5: I think four touchdowns five in or let's see four
- 23:35Speaker 5: touchdowns interceptions, five touchdowns interceptions and four touchdowns interceptions. I
- 23:39Speaker 5: think the last three games that's an impossible like momentum
- 23:43Speaker 5: to keep. But it's also impossible for Jonathan Taylor to
- 23:46Speaker 5: like have those types of games every single week, like.
- 23:49Speaker 4: Only I get it.
- 23:50Speaker 5: It's averaging six yard yah. Here, what is what's Stafford's
- 23:53Speaker 5: touchdowns on the season? Twenty twenty five touchdowns two interceptions
- 23:58Speaker 5: right now, I mean four.
- 24:03Speaker 3: It's gonna be It's gonna be a good race because
- 24:06Speaker 3: it's gonna be Jonathan Taylor.
- 24:07Speaker 4: And Darnold's up there too.
- 24:09Speaker 7: He's unreal. But yeah, Bloody Jones uh here? Yeah, who
- 24:13Speaker 7: thought Daniel Jones was a badass?
- 24:16Speaker 3: He's leading the league in passing yards. I saw a
- 24:19Speaker 3: goot a good tweet yesterday. It was a screenshot of
- 24:22Speaker 3: Indiana Jones. So that blood on it looks like he
- 24:24Speaker 3: had red lipstick on.
- 24:25Speaker 5: Yeah, and there was somebody was talking about, Oh, Caleb
- 24:29Speaker 5: Williams is so pissed because another quarterba lipstick.
- 24:33Speaker 4: That beat me to it.
- 24:38Speaker 7: He's the most athletic dude ever. He can wear whatever
- 24:40Speaker 7: you want like that.
- 24:42Speaker 4: No, it's gonna be a good race. I love to
- 24:44Speaker 4: see that.
- 24:44Speaker 5: There's another position that will that will be in the
- 24:46Speaker 5: discussion for it. Yeah, but like I gotta, I gotta
- 24:50Speaker 5: give it up to Stafford.
- 24:51Speaker 4: Right now.
- 24:52Speaker 5: So he's got a similar like he's never won an MVP. Yeah,
- 24:55Speaker 5: he's thirty seven, never won an MVP. Young, I I
- 25:00Speaker 5: don't know if he's ever been All Pro. He hasn't
- 25:02Speaker 5: never been. They were talking not first team, they were
- 25:05Speaker 5: talking about it on the Brocast, which is wild, right,
- 25:08Speaker 5: And but a guy that's had just a sneaky, amazing career.
- 25:10Speaker 5: I'sn't even say he won the Super Bowl. But like,
- 25:13Speaker 5: if he didn't start out his first what ten years
- 25:16Speaker 5: or whatever in Detroit, his trajectory is probably it's not
- 25:19Speaker 5: it's not his fault that he plays in the same
- 25:20Speaker 5: league as like.
- 25:21Speaker 4: Her team success.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Now, individual he did have Megatron, but to your point,
- 25:24Speaker 3: they were still bad.
- 25:25Speaker 5: He had individual success. Yeah, of course, is he a
- 25:29Speaker 5: Hall of Famer Matthew staff.
- 25:33Speaker 4: Ques, no question, I agree, But again, no MVP is
- 25:36Speaker 4: no all pros for that matter. Hmmm, that's a good point.
- 25:42Speaker 5: I think it's it's a common sense when this like
- 25:45Speaker 5: how many Pro Bowls, Like Pro Bowls doesn't really mean
- 25:47Speaker 5: anything anymore to me.
- 25:50Speaker 8: All of those are kind of subjective now, I mean
- 25:52Speaker 8: they're voted one. Yeah, like I could argue you could
- 25:55Speaker 8: argue that like Josh Allen had a better year two
- 25:59Speaker 8: years ago than he did last year, but he won
- 26:01Speaker 8: the MVP last year. It's like, all of those are
- 26:03Speaker 8: kind of subjective. I don't I don't care about those
- 26:05Speaker 8: that much.
- 26:07Speaker 5: I can tell you, even at thirty seven years old,
- 26:10Speaker 5: if I'm starting a franchise, I'm picking Stafford right now.
- 26:17Speaker 4: He only played for a couple of years. But if
- 26:20Speaker 4: you want, if you want a win, though, you give
- 26:22Speaker 4: me four or five two year contract.
- 26:25Speaker 5: But his game, like he doesn't have to, he doesn't
- 26:27Speaker 5: run around. I don't know, maybe I'll rethink that, but
- 26:32Speaker 5: he's the best quarterback in the NFL right now.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Right now, you're passing leaders in the NFL as far
- 26:38Speaker 3: as yards, Daniel Jones, justin Herbert, Drake May, Matthew Stafford,
- 26:41Speaker 3: Patrick Mahomes.
- 26:44Speaker 5: Yeah, how about that Drake May is Drake May is
- 26:48Speaker 5: leading the like I think someone has just said. I
- 26:50Speaker 5: think yesterday he was leading the betting nods. But I
- 26:53Speaker 5: guess right now, Drake May and Stafford are both plus
- 26:56Speaker 5: three hundred, so it's leading in the clubhouse for MVP.
- 27:00Speaker 5: I mean, I get it's a popularity vote, but yeah,
- 27:02Speaker 5: I mean, it should be the best player in the NFL,
- 27:05Speaker 5: which is what it's supposed to be like. To Taylor's point,
- 27:08Speaker 5: josh Alla probably played better of the year before than
- 27:10Speaker 5: he did last.
- 27:11Speaker 4: But he played great. But yeah, it's it's.
- 27:16Speaker 8: I mean, we were we were talking about it when
- 27:18Speaker 8: you asked this our MVP. One of the reasons I
- 27:21Speaker 8: gave was, look at the two games that the Colts
- 27:23Speaker 8: have lost, They've not been able to run the ball,
- 27:26Speaker 8: and they go as Jonathan Taylor goes the hit forty
- 27:29Speaker 8: five yards against the Steelers, he hit seventy six against
- 27:32Speaker 8: the Rams.
- 27:32Speaker 4: Nothing.
- 27:33Speaker 8: Look at what he did yesterday to forty four three
- 27:35Speaker 8: touchdowns like he he I understand Daniel Jones has had
- 27:39Speaker 8: a good season. That offense runs through Jonathan Tail.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Yeah, this certainly does. But for MVP, can't have a
- 27:44Speaker 3: forty five yard game. Say what, there's a well you
- 27:47Speaker 3: can if you have like two hundred and forty yards.
- 27:49Speaker 3: He had to stick to you to your point, you
- 27:51Speaker 3: gotta happen you have the moments there, Yeah, you gotta
- 27:52Speaker 3: have more.
- 27:54Speaker 7: I think something grind yesterday?
- 27:55Speaker 4: How long was that he had to forty yesterday? Right?
- 27:58Speaker 4: He hit an eighty d Yeah, two forty for the game.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Something also very cool to see, and I think it's
- 28:06Speaker 3: a great, uh you know example of when you call
- 28:09Speaker 3: people a bus or you call people like, you know,
- 28:11Speaker 3: didn't didn't not he went in a pro It's like, well,
- 28:14Speaker 3: situation matters too. Your two top QBR or sorry, quarterback
- 28:19Speaker 3: ratings that have qualified because Lamar's hadn't played the amount
- 28:23Speaker 3: of games Jared Goff and Sam Darnold. Let's not forget
- 28:27Speaker 3: Jared Golf was traded for Stafford and it was kind
- 28:29Speaker 3: of a throw in because they were done with him,
- 28:31Speaker 3: even though he gone to a Super Bowl. It's like, yeah,
- 28:33Speaker 3: have but this guy's ceilings not you know, he's he's okay.
- 28:36Speaker 3: He's like, hey, here, we'll toss this. Same with the
- 28:38Speaker 3: draft picks. And now Jared Golf is in a situation
- 28:41Speaker 3: where he's completing seventy four percent of his passes this year,
- 28:46Speaker 3: seventy four percent of his passes going for over twenty
- 28:50Speaker 3: two hundred yards, twenty touchdowns, only three interceptions for Jared Goff.
- 28:54Speaker 8: I think people look down on Golf because, look, you
- 28:57Speaker 8: get traded for Stafford. Stafford wins the Super Bowl is first, Yeah,
- 29:00Speaker 8: and a lot of people can be well, Golf held
- 29:02Speaker 8: him back.
- 29:02Speaker 4: It's been a hell of a quarterback.
- 29:04Speaker 5: He's been incredible in Detroit though, it been really good,
- 29:07Speaker 5: and he had some really good times and with the Rams.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Right, but remember he was he was thrown in like,
- 29:13Speaker 3: hey here, we'll put golf in there too.
- 29:16Speaker 5: Now that was a great trade for both sides, right, Yeah,
- 29:18Speaker 5: and they both they went, they went a Super Bowl
- 29:20Speaker 5: of the Rams.
- 29:21Speaker 4: And then they the Lions are relevant for the first
- 29:23Speaker 4: time ever, you know, beyond relevant. Yeah, they're legit. There's
- 29:28Speaker 4: some legit teams in the NFC. AFC is a crapshoot.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Darnold completing seventy one point of his passes nine point
- 29:36Speaker 3: nine yards per attempt, which I think is best in
- 29:39Speaker 3: the NFL. So hitting a ton of big plays, seventeen touchdowns,
- 29:43Speaker 3: six interceptions.
- 29:44Speaker 4: Again, another guy that was left for for dead. I
- 29:48Speaker 4: can't do it. I can't play it, and those like it.
- 29:49Speaker 3: Just if you play in bad organizations like the Jets,
- 29:53Speaker 3: that's kind of what happens.
- 29:54Speaker 4: Somebody's better. And I know the Colts and the Patriots
- 29:57Speaker 4: are kind of the AFC.
- 29:58Speaker 5: They're kind of emerging as some of the really good
- 30:02Speaker 5: powerhouses in the AFC. But somebody better emerge as a
- 30:05Speaker 5: top dog. We're gonna find ourselves watching the Chiefs playing
- 30:08Speaker 5: the Super Bowl again.
- 30:10Speaker 7: Don't you put that on me?
- 30:12Speaker 4: Ain't I was eye bawling those last night.
- 30:15Speaker 3: They're the third team in their division right now. But okay,
- 30:18Speaker 3: by two games.
- 30:20Speaker 4: I hated.
- 30:21Speaker 8: I hated to pull forget against the Jake's Chargers last night.
- 30:24Speaker 8: But because the Steelers lost, Ravens are one game back
- 30:27Speaker 8: in the AFC North to Oh, it's gotta be the
- 30:30Speaker 8: same teams, guys.
- 30:31Speaker 4: I don't want to see that. I don't either happen
- 30:35Speaker 4: right now.
- 30:35Speaker 3: You're looking at You're looking at Patriots, Bills, Steelers, Colts, Broncos, Chargers,
- 30:44Speaker 3: and I don't know who had had the tiebreaker between
- 30:46Speaker 3: the Chiefs and Jags, but they would be the last
- 30:48Speaker 3: team in have.
- 30:49Speaker 4: They played yet? Yeah?
- 30:51Speaker 3: Then oh the Jags didn't Jack, Yes, the Jacks have
- 30:54Speaker 3: the top Kansas City would be out right now.
- 30:57Speaker 4: That doesn't doesn't doesn't mean anything. They just lost their
- 31:02Speaker 4: last time out there.
- 31:04Speaker 3: They're going to be The Chiefs lost their last time
- 31:06Speaker 3: out like to the Bill, So it's not like they're
- 31:09Speaker 3: like they've won four games in a row. So I
- 31:12Speaker 3: know we all assume it's inevitable because it's happened so
- 31:15Speaker 3: many you're.
- 31:15Speaker 5: Going to be a championship game. Sorry, I don't want that.
- 31:21Speaker 5: I'm just telling you what's gonna happen. Don't be mad
- 31:25Speaker 5: at me.
- 31:26Speaker 4: All right, here's a bet. Yeah, if the Chiefs.
- 31:33Speaker 3: Make the ASC championship game, I've got to pay your
- 31:37Speaker 3: next registration at elite whatever that is.
- 31:41Speaker 4: If they don't make it, I get how much is
- 31:48Speaker 4: that box in my hair right there? Like that box
- 31:51Speaker 4: that's a big box? How much? Yeah? I get five
- 31:54Speaker 4: of those same price cost the Goods deal if the
- 32:06Speaker 4: Chiefs make it.
- 32:07Speaker 3: If the Chiefs make it, like you're saying, then I
- 32:10Speaker 3: pay your next registration for whatever you do at a league.
- 32:12Speaker 4: This isn't even money. This is not an even money
- 32:14Speaker 4: bet though.
- 32:15Speaker 3: Okay, however many whatever the equivalent boxes of my highest to.
- 32:18Speaker 4: That, Okay, they got to be like what plus eight
- 32:21Speaker 4: hundred to make the FC championship right now?
- 32:24Speaker 3: Hold on, you can't say it fully throated, full throat
- 32:29Speaker 3: and then try to go back on it. You're flip

- 36:54Speaker 8: like you could have put LSU lost third in a row,
- 36:57Speaker 8: like yeah, and you have to put l L LS.
- 37:01Speaker 4: No, you have to do all that.
- 37:06Speaker 5: It's not a fan chosen to put us at the
- 37:09Speaker 5: night game like all season long. Now you're gonna kick us.

- 38:20Speaker 4: got out today. Yeah, they get it out once a
- 38:23Speaker 4: year for the for the Arkansas Week. Yeah.
- 38:30Speaker 5: The game that they put a eleven is the one
- 38:33Speaker 5: you're going to schedule us every year for sweet.
- 38:36Speaker 4: It's at eleven a lot too, mm hmm. They can't
- 38:41Speaker 4: lose this one, boys, you can't lose this one technically,
- 38:48Speaker 4: can no? I can't.
- 38:51Speaker 7: I mean you got to score a touchdown. Somebody other
- 38:55Speaker 7: than your kicker has.
- 38:56Speaker 4: To score right as good as as good as our
- 38:59Speaker 4: defense can be.
- 39:00Speaker 3: And certainly again they they tried everything they could to
- 39:04Speaker 3: bail out the offense in Tuscaloosa, Arkansas can do one
- 39:08Speaker 3: thing and his score I can't stop anybody.
- 39:12Speaker 4: But they haven't met this offense yet.
- 39:13Speaker 5: When does springk uh? When's this press conference today? I
- 39:17Speaker 5: mean that's gonna be the big story. Obviously, we haven't
- 39:19Speaker 5: even really talked about the potential of going forward because
- 39:22Speaker 5: we've been talking about the game today.
- 39:23Speaker 4: But like.
- 39:26Speaker 5: After the decision during the game, is it van Buren?
- 39:32Speaker 5: I mean, it's kind of like the same the conversation
- 39:34Speaker 5: we were having.
- 39:35Speaker 4: After the game and had said like he hadn't put
- 39:37Speaker 4: that thought into it.
- 39:38Speaker 5: Yeah, and I'm sure, but it's gonna have to be
- 39:40Speaker 5: decided now, like because you got to go to practice, right.
- 39:42Speaker 4: It starts tomorrow, But that's it's the same conversation. I
- 39:45Speaker 4: would assume it it's going to be.
- 39:47Speaker 5: Yeah, I would assume it has to be too, and
- 39:49Speaker 5: we can get into more of the reasoning why and
- 39:52Speaker 5: everything tomorrow, I guess after.
- 39:54Speaker 4: He announces it and talk a little bit about us
- 39:56Speaker 4: uh at that point.
- 39:57Speaker 5: But like, yeah, it's the same conversation that we had
- 40:00Speaker 5: when Chuck replaced Rattler. Right, it's like kind of you
- 40:02Speaker 5: kind of got to make the move. You did it,
- 40:04Speaker 5: so let's see how it plays out. So yeah, it
- 40:10Speaker 5: was it was time.
- 40:13Speaker 4: Certainly. Hm, that'll be a big press conference. Huh uh.
- 40:19Speaker 4: First question or second question?
- 40:21Speaker 3: It'll be top three, yes, second, somebody will ask about
- 40:25Speaker 3: in general the game.
- 40:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:27Speaker 3: First, yeah, man, if you'd have told me after we
- 40:31Speaker 3: got home from Clemson that you'd be playing Arkansas at
- 40:35Speaker 3: eleven forty five and Van Buren might be your starting
- 40:38Speaker 3: quarterback because Nsmyer got.
- 40:40Speaker 4: Benched and you're five and four, five and four, I've
- 40:42Speaker 4: been like, you're a liar. Clemson's good, and Dama just
- 40:49Speaker 4: lost the Florida State and Clemson just beat Florida State.
- 40:53Speaker 4: What is the world. You'd be like, Well, you're gonna
