Speaker 1: Greetings, programs, and welcome to Wild Rose Country. I'm Connor McGehee,
• 0:04
Speaker 1: and this is Colorado Avalanche Hockey. Tonight, the amps run
• 0:08
Speaker 1: the bank to the Bow River for the penultimate visit
• 0:11
Speaker 1: at the Scotiabank Saddledome. So put on your listening sweaters
• 0:14
Speaker 1: for the abs and flames. Voice of nature versus old
• 0:18
Speaker 1: love interest. Live for your listening pleasure around North America
• 0:22
Speaker 1: and around the world on the Altitude Sports Radio Network.
• 0:27
Speaker 1: Nemech on the back end for Calgary. It's the Avalanche
• 0:30
Speaker 1: who win the draw. Landis-Gogg pushes it down the far wall,
• 0:33
Speaker 1: leads it for Marty Natchez up top for Taves who
• 0:36
Speaker 1: lets it go, hit a body in front. And that's
• 0:38
Speaker 1: what Calgary is going to do. They're going to throw
• 0:40
Speaker 1: every single body in between the creases. It's creases. In
• 0:44
Speaker 1: between the circles. There's just one crease on one end
• 0:47
Speaker 1: of the ice, just so you know. Avs have to
• 0:50
Speaker 1: find a way through that. Tays the intercept. Centers it.
• 0:52
Speaker 1: Broken up. Natchez. Out of the point. Cale McCarr has
• 0:55
Speaker 1: got some room near side circle. Tipped in front. They score.
• 1:00
Speaker 2: Not so much a laser, but it's scored by Taser.
• 1:03
  Speaker 2: His first goal.
• 1:04
Speaker 1: Of the season. Cale McCarr lined him up. And the
• 1:07
Speaker 1: Avalanche are up 1-0 with 4.06 to go in the
• 1:11
Speaker 1: first period. You give Kiel McCarr an inch, he'll take
• 1:16
Speaker 1: a mile. That's exactly what he did. Devon Taves was
• 1:19
Speaker 1: parked atop the crease before Kuznetsov could get to him.
• 1:23
Speaker 1: And it's the tap-in of all tap-ins for Devon Taves.
• 1:27
Speaker 1: Both defensemen for the Avalanche playing as forwards, and they
• 1:31
Speaker 1: make it 1-0 Colorado. Waugh denies this head man pass.
• 1:37
Speaker 1: Manson plays it off the dasher board. That's going to
• 1:40
Speaker 1: settle nicely in the far corner right side of Cooley. 2.42
• 1:42
Speaker 1: to go in the first period. The Ams have won nothing.
• 1:45
  Speaker 2: Burns.
• 1:45
Speaker 1: Another pitch. Centers it for Waugh. It's off his backhand
• 1:48
Speaker 1: as well. LaRue fell over. That allows Klapka to get
• 1:52
Speaker 1: to the puck. Manson and Burns are back. Klapka, he scores.
• 1:57
Speaker 1: Didn't know he had that in the bag. Just the
• 2:03
Speaker 1: fourth goal that the Flames have scored all season. And
• 2:07
Speaker 1: just the 14th goal that Adam Klapka has scored ever.
• 2:12
Speaker 1: He ties it at one with 2.30 to go in
• 2:14
Speaker 1: the first period. Landeskog tries to one-hand it free. Farabee
• 2:19
Speaker 1: will steal it. And connect with Backlund. Back to Farabee.
• 2:23
Speaker 1: Nearside boards. Down to the corner. Farabee throws it in front. Deflected.
• 2:28
Speaker 1: Landeskog is there. Now into the pass to the speedy
• 2:31
Speaker 1: Marty Natchez. One on three looking for help. Tosses it
• 2:34
Speaker 1: for Nicholas Waugh. Back down low. Waugh turns and fires
• 2:37
Speaker 1: and misses left post of Cooley. Backland up and on out.
• 2:40
Speaker 1: Parker Kelly to the point. And Juleson has to retreat
• 2:43
Speaker 1: back to the neutral zone as Parker Kelly paid a
• 2:45
Speaker 1: price for that pass. Waugh for Tabes. He'll tip it deep.
• 2:50
Speaker 1: LaRue now for Parker Kelly in the corner. To the point.
• 2:53
Speaker 1: Juleson lines up Tabes. He winds and fires. He scores!
• 2:59
Speaker 1: LaRue was in front. It's either tapes is second or
• 3:04
Speaker 1: LaRue's first with the Avalanche. It's Devon tapes. It's clean in.
• 3:10
Speaker 1: And lucky number seven has 221 Colorado. Devon tapes. Has
• 3:20
Speaker 1: never scored in his career versus the Calgary Flames coming
• 3:23
Speaker 1: into tonight. He now has two for the Avalanche as
• 3:28
Speaker 1: they take a two one lead with 1315 ago in
• 3:31
Speaker 1: the second period. Bill McCarr breaks up this bid from
• 3:34
Speaker 1: the Flames. Dog loose, now T.J. Hughes. Into the Flames zone, Hughes,
• 3:39
Speaker 1: hooked by Frost from behind. Play continues, he'll dump it
• 3:42
Speaker 1: in and go to the bench. Pinching is Kulak. Gradeen
• 3:45
Speaker 1: backwards now. Damage in the corner. Stick flip there from
• 3:48
Speaker 1: Nazem Kadri. Frees it up. Didn't have the speed. Cut
• 3:51
Speaker 1: off there by Gradeen. Now Cale McCarr for Brett Kulak.
• 3:55
Speaker 1: Off the near wall. McKinnon waiting in the neutral zone.
• 3:57
Speaker 1: McKinnon hangs on to it. He's got Cale McCarr up
• 3:58
Speaker 1: in the late charge. McCarr far circle. Let's it go.
• 4:01
Speaker 1: He scores! All hail Cale!
• 4:07
Speaker 2: Points and four straight versus the Flames. Two goals in
• 4:11
Speaker 2: that span. It's the hometown kid.
• 4:15
Speaker 1: Half the crowd up and celebrating half with their heads down.
• 4:19
Speaker 1: Cale McCarr gets his second goal of the season and
• 4:21
Speaker 1: the avalanche of a 3-1 lead with 10.44 to go
• 4:25
Speaker 1: in the second period. This is a long shift for Calgary.
• 4:29
Speaker 1: I'll look at the time in a minute. Burns a shot,
• 4:32
Speaker 1: tipped down low by Manson, who is standing in front,
• 4:34
Speaker 1: hacked up the boards, and Manson will keep it alive.
• 4:36
Speaker 1: Manson again towards the net, tipped, save made by Cooley,
• 4:39
Speaker 1: puck is loose. Waugh has it. Burns available at the point.
• 4:42
Speaker 1: Waugh will keep it himself. Hands it off for Manson,
• 4:45
Speaker 1: down low for Marty Natchez. Back for Burns. Burns lets
• 4:49
Speaker 1: it go, tipped again, rebound! It's put wide by Nicholas Waugh.
• 4:52
Speaker 1: I can't believe it didn't go in. LaRue with McKinnon
• 4:55
Speaker 1: coming on the bench.
• 4:56
Speaker 2: McKinnon, one-timer, he scores! The Mac attack is back, Jack.
• 5:06
Speaker 1: He helped on McCarr's goal, and he gets some cookies
• 5:09
Speaker 1: for himself. Nathan McKinnon, his 21st goal and 48th point
• 5:14
Speaker 1: ever versus the Calgary Flames, makes it 4-1 Avs with 8.21
• 5:19
Speaker 1: to go in the second period. Hayes. Leaves it for Lekkonen.
• 5:24
Speaker 1: Waits just long enough for Nathan McKinnon. Gets around one.
• 5:26
Speaker 1: Gets around two. McKinnon power move towards the net. Save
• 5:28
Speaker 1: made by Cooley. And it's forced just wide. When McKinnon
• 5:32
Speaker 1: turns on the afterburners, there's no hope. McKinnon into the
• 5:36
Speaker 1: space for McCarr. He winds and fires.
• 5:39
Speaker 2: And he scores. Oh, hail, kale. Two for Tabes, two
• 5:46
  Speaker 2: for McCarr. It's a two for Thursday. It's a new
• 5:50
Speaker 2: thing with the Colorado Avalanche. Goals galore from the blue line.
• 5:54
  Speaker 2: It's 5-1 visitors.
• 5:57
Speaker 1: And McCarr putting on a show in front of friends
• 6:00
Speaker 1: and family in his hometown of Calgary, Alberta. The draw
• 6:06
Speaker 1: in the Calgary and Juleson. It's fetched off for T.J.
• 6:10
Speaker 1: Hughes who's denied again by Devin Cooley. It's there for Hughes.

Speaker 1: Hughes sets up Schwartz, and the Avalanche score another touchdown.
• 6:47
Speaker 1: Their third time to six goals in four games this season.
• 6:52
Speaker 1: Hughes for Schwartz, right at the slot, and Cooley can't
• 6:56
Speaker 1: get there. Schwartz gets his second goal in consecutive nights,
• 7:00
Speaker 1: and the Avalanche are a runaway train. 6-1 Colorado. And Hughes,
• 7:08
Speaker 1: who has been everywhere tonight for Colorado, six shots on goals.
• 7:15
Speaker 1: English is hard. Scene 24, take two, marker. Six shots
• 7:20
Speaker 1: on goal for Hughes. That leads everybody on the ice tonight. Six. Pospisil,
• 7:27
Speaker 1: that's whacked to center by Brent Burns. Flames throw it

Speaker 1: Svechkov hit him up, and he threw it in front
• 9:05
Speaker 1: intended for T.J. Hughes, but it was kicked in by

Speaker 1: Keaton Middleton. The defenseman was right atop the crease. It
• 9:12
Speaker 1: went off his shin pad through Devin Cooley and in,
• 9:16
Speaker 1: and the Avalanche have scored seven goals for the second
• 9:19
Speaker 1: time this season. He'll kind of act for T.J.
