- 0:17Speaker 1: Instead, theos assemble the boss to sample.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Instead the.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Lamber less of the world.
- 1:29Speaker 2: You're gonna start out this morning by saying happy birthday
- 1:35Speaker 2: to Bob Nelson. It's on the list today.
- 1:40Speaker 3: The cool cheek, very cool, you know Bob. I do
- 1:44Speaker 3: know Bob.
- 1:46Speaker 2: That's almost like, I mean, who the hell doesn't know
- 1:49Speaker 2: Bob Nelson? Right?
- 1:50Speaker 4: If you say I don't know Bob Nelson, then obviously
- 1:53Speaker 4: you don't live in central Vermont, right.
- 1:56Speaker 2: I don't think that we should say that he's sixty
- 2:03Speaker 2: years old today, though, I think that's kind of you know, well,
- 2:07Speaker 2: that's it's kind of private. I mean, but say sixty.
- 2:10Speaker 4: But a lot of times men don't care as much
- 2:12Speaker 4: as women do when it comes to saying ages.
- 2:14Speaker 2: I know.
- 2:15Speaker 3: But yeah, I think we should keep that between.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Us, the whole sixty.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that's smart.
- 2:20Speaker 2: All right. So once again, just to reiterate, we're not
- 2:25Speaker 2: going to be saying that Bob Nelson is sixty no today.
- 2:28Speaker 4: No, I think that's inappropriate, all right, I won't do it. No,
- 2:31Speaker 4: don't do it.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Adam Drake is fifty one today. Louise Peterson on the
- 2:37Speaker 2: birthday list today, along with Brandon Kate's Frank Burrios, Paul Kea,
- 2:45Speaker 2: Wendy Gould, Katie Cassidy. I think I'm saying all these names,
- 2:51Speaker 2: right Chie, But I hope so I don't know. Good morning, buddy,
- 2:54Speaker 2: How the hell are you?
- 2:55Speaker 3: I'm well, how are you?
- 2:57Speaker 2: I'm well? Good, I feel I feel I feel better good.
- 3:00Speaker 3: You look like shit?
- 3:02Speaker 2: Thank you?
- 3:02Speaker 3: You're welcome. Thank you.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Yeah, let's start it off right. Yes, this thing, uh,
- 3:10Speaker 4: this thing just kicked my ass?
- 3:12Speaker 3: It did it?
- 3:13Speaker 2: Did we have a comment already this morning?
- 3:15Speaker 3: Oh god?
- 3:16Speaker 2: And it's from Glenn Prommert. And do you know what
- 3:19Speaker 2: he says?
- 3:21Speaker 3: Was he picking on my sweater?
- 3:23Speaker 2: He says, nice sweater?
- 3:25Speaker 3: Gee, thank you Glenn.
- 3:26Speaker 4: You know, I thought to myself, geez, every time I'm on,
- 3:30Speaker 4: Glenn's got something to say about my sweater or my
- 3:32Speaker 4: shirt or whatever. So this time I went neutral because
- 3:37Speaker 4: last time I had the shirt that made me look
- 3:40Speaker 4: like the day before Christmas. The time before that, I
- 3:44Speaker 4: had a black turtleneck with a black sweater, they came
- 3:46Speaker 4: up that made me look like Count Dracula. Yeah, so
- 3:49Speaker 4: this time I said, I'm gonna I'm gonna nail it.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Yeah, h you just and you did? What was it?
- 3:57Speaker 4: A little touch up makeup on my face and little
- 4:00Speaker 4: bit of shaving and some yeah, and there I am.
- 4:03Speaker 4: I'm good to go, and now I don't look dead.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Good morning Valerie and Glenn and Becky, and thanks for
- 4:10Speaker 2: getting your day started with us. It's uh Friday eve, right,
- 4:20Speaker 2: yeah already? Yeah? You ready for some football this weekend?
- 4:25Speaker 2: You're not going to be doing any of that.
- 4:27Speaker 4: No, no, if my team's not doing anything press, I'm
- 4:31Speaker 4: just not gonna watch all.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Right, All right, Well that's that's fair enough. Maybe next year.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Logan looses with us this morning. I know he's ready
- 4:39Speaker 2: for football. Well, at least he was with us this morning.
- 4:43Speaker 2: This guy is like a fanatic man. I mean, it's
- 4:48Speaker 2: like there's nothing that he loves more, and it's just
- 4:53Speaker 2: like that's all he does. Is nothing wrong with that,
- 4:56Speaker 2: pay attention of football. See if we can get him
- 4:59Speaker 2: on this morning, I will be watching some football. I
- 5:05Speaker 2: don't know how much of it I'll be watching.
- 5:07Speaker 3: But you'll be watching it while you're doing all this work.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Yeah, what about Jed?
- 5:15Speaker 3: No, he doesn't watch football?
- 5:17Speaker 2: All right? Oh well we lost him. We had him,
- 5:21Speaker 2: but we lost him.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Jed likes he likes watching you ready, for this golf golf,
- 5:33Speaker 4: all right, it's like watching paint drive.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Well if he's if he's listening right now, I hope
- 5:38Speaker 2: he's listening and not looking at the monitor. Mm hmm. Okay,
- 5:47Speaker 2: all right, well what do you do? What do you
- 5:52Speaker 2: what do you do when he's watching golf? What do
- 5:56Speaker 2: you do?
- 5:57Speaker 4: I am clearly in another room. God, my brother watches
- 6:02Speaker 4: golf and tennis. So when they're upstairs in the living
- 6:06Speaker 4: room and they have either golf or tennis on, I
- 6:08Speaker 4: walk in and the first thing I say is, oh,
- 6:11Speaker 4: hell no, And I grab the remote and I change
- 6:14Speaker 4: it because there's fricking five other TVs in the house.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Go to one of those rooms.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Oh my god, don't use the sixty five inch TV
- 6:21Speaker 4: that I can watch my shows.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, no.
- 6:26Speaker 4: And then they play video golf, the two of them. Yeah,
- 6:31Speaker 4: at dinner, just before dinner, I'm cooking, I turn around
- 6:34Speaker 4: and on the TV there's Jed playing, swinging his characters whatever,
- 6:39Speaker 4: and my brother cursing because he missed the hole in
- 6:43Speaker 4: one or whatever.
- 6:44Speaker 3: And I'm like, Jesus, people, come on, we.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Have a YouTuber that's saying don't make fun of golf,
- 6:52Speaker 2: and Jed is saying that he's gonna remember that you
- 6:55Speaker 2: said that.
- 6:56Speaker 4: Oh I quiver with fear. Uh, listen, how you feeling, buddy.
- 7:06Speaker 4: I'll be honest with you, I'll be honest with everybody
- 7:08Speaker 4: that I'm just kind of like in a little bit
- 7:16Speaker 4: of uh, I don't know, a funk of fog something
- 7:20Speaker 4: I don't know, just not well, you're not recovered yet,
- 7:25Speaker 4: not feeling No, you're not recovered. It's like people who
- 7:28Speaker 4: recover from COVID still feel sick for a week or two.
- 7:32Speaker 4: And yeah, you know you're pushing and pushing. Could you
- 7:35Speaker 4: want to get back on the air, which we all appreciate,
- 7:38Speaker 4: But at the same time, you're kind of tuckering yourself
- 7:42Speaker 4: out and the last thing you want is a relapse.
- 7:46Speaker 2: But you do have that magic potion. I have Glenn's
- 7:50Speaker 2: magic postion.
- 7:51Speaker 4: I was going to bring a fire extinguisher because you
- 7:53Speaker 4: told me last night that your ass was burning from
- 7:55Speaker 4: all that uh that hot stuff in it.
- 7:59Speaker 2: It was Kanye Pepper, ginger, enough lemons to kill an elephant,
- 8:06Speaker 2: and a bunch of other stuff.
- 8:08Speaker 4: Well, Glenn told me yesterday, don't knock it until you
- 8:11Speaker 4: try it, So I said, send me the recipe and
- 8:13Speaker 4: he didn't, So I did.
- 8:15Speaker 2: I did a little something that a little different from
- 8:19Speaker 2: what Glenn told me. I put it all in the uh,
- 8:24Speaker 2: the bullet, the bullet blender, and I dropped a couple
- 8:31Speaker 2: of tangerines in there.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Did you throw any tequila in it?
- 8:35Speaker 2: I didn't. I didn't put the splash at tequila.
- 8:38Speaker 5: Oh.
- 8:38Speaker 4: I would have done a couple of splashes. I mean,
- 8:40Speaker 4: I don't drink, but I would have definitely. If I
- 8:43Speaker 4: was making it for you, you wouldn't even know it's coming. Yeah,
- 8:46Speaker 4: I'd just be.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Like three quarters tequila and the rest of that stuff.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I put it all in the blender. I put some
- 8:53Speaker 2: orenches in there to get some extra you know, fiber.
- 8:57Speaker 5: And.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Came out hot fiber.
- 9:01Speaker 4: Yeah, because last night you told me, oh, my ass
- 9:05Speaker 4: is gonna start burning, and I said, you want me
- 9:07Speaker 4: to run over there with a fire extinguisher. Gods, what
- 9:12Speaker 4: happens when you listen to Glenn?
- 9:14Speaker 2: Oh, listen, we have a We have an accident this
- 9:19Speaker 2: morning on eighty nine southbound right by the Wenuski River
- 9:23Speaker 2: Bridge Exit fifteen. That is. I don't know if that's
- 9:27Speaker 2: cleared up yet or not, but if anyone knows if
- 9:31Speaker 2: it has let us know. But the last I was
- 9:36Speaker 2: aware that it was backing up traffic very very far.
- 9:41Speaker 2: There's an accident by exit fifteen.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Like daily.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I was gonna say twice a week, but it's it's
- 9:50Speaker 2: closer to like three times a week.
- 9:52Speaker 5: Now.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Well, you just know that time.
- 9:55Speaker 4: In the summertime, people don't know how to drive, but
- 9:57Speaker 4: they don't hit each other. But in the winter. You
- 10:00Speaker 4: live in Vermont, people learn to drive. In the winter,
- 10:03Speaker 4: there's always accidents because everybody's got to get here and there.
- 10:06Speaker 4: They don't make enough time sure for the travel. And
- 10:10Speaker 4: you know, Jed had to go to work at eleven
- 10:13Speaker 4: o'clock at night and he was working all night doing
- 10:15Speaker 4: a computer change, a networking change, and he had to
- 10:19Speaker 4: be there by I think it was one o'clock. And
- 10:22Speaker 4: he left at like eleven thirty. Okay, and it's only
- 10:25Speaker 4: to Burlington because he knows, hey, there's snow on the ground, right,
- 10:28Speaker 4: I'm going to take it easy.
- 10:30Speaker 3: You know, that's common sense.
- 10:32Speaker 4: But a lot of people they leave their regular time
- 10:34Speaker 4: and then they look and say, oh shit, I'm running
- 10:36Speaker 4: late because everybody's driving saw and that's when accidents happen.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Right, Well, I you know, you asked me how I was.
- 10:45Speaker 2: How how are you?
- 10:47Speaker 3: I'm doing well?
- 10:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:49Speaker 3: I got up this morning. I looked in the mirror
- 10:52Speaker 3: and I said, holy shit, you look like a corpse.
- 10:56Speaker 4: So, which is what happens when you get older, You
- 10:58Speaker 4: start looking you know, little. So I went over to
- 11:01Speaker 4: my neighbor's house and knocked on her door, and she
- 11:03Speaker 4: had her coffee in her hand, and yeah.
- 11:05Speaker 3: I said, Tracy, do you ever see missus doubtfire?
- 11:09Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 11:09Speaker 3: Okay, do you remember when he goes to his brother's.
- 11:12Speaker 4: Door and says, make me a woman and the brother says, oh,
- 11:15Speaker 4: thank god. Well I went to there and Tracy opened
- 11:18Speaker 4: the door with her cup and she's like hi, and
- 11:20Speaker 4: I says hi, I says, make me look alive. So
- 11:24Speaker 4: she says come on in, and we went over to
- 11:26Speaker 4: the makeup and she just put just a little bit
- 11:29Speaker 4: of clear stuff that just gave me enough color that
- 11:32Speaker 4: when I came back out, people didn't think, oh, look
- 11:34Speaker 4: at the dead walking in the snow.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Sure.
- 11:36Speaker 3: So, yeah, so I'm doing well now, Thank God for Tracy.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Lily Lily is now that she's ten years old, she
- 11:48Speaker 2: loves doing makeup.
- 11:49Speaker 3: I know you send me pictures of how absolutely beautiful.
- 11:52Speaker 2: You look.
- 11:53Speaker 3: I think she uses every color in the rainbow on you.
- 11:56Speaker 4: I've never seen so much multicolored eyeshadow and lipstick that
- 12:01Speaker 4: goes up your cheek.
- 12:02Speaker 3: I'm like, look at his mouth has extended.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Up to his cheek. Looks like the joker.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:07Speaker 4: And then your nails are all done, and and then
- 12:10Speaker 4: you and and she puts the little rubber bands in
- 12:12Speaker 4: your hair and before you know it, yeah, you send
- 12:15Speaker 4: me a picture and I'm like, I can only say
- 12:17Speaker 4: one word, lovely.
- 12:20Speaker 2: What am I going to say? Lily? She says to me,
- 12:23Speaker 2: She's like, all, you know, getting in my face and
- 12:25Speaker 2: doing this, and she's like and she's serious, which I love.
- 12:32Speaker 2: It's just the fact that she says these things and
- 12:35Speaker 2: she's serious just cracks me up on the inside. But
- 12:39Speaker 2: she'll be like, Okay, dad, Dad, you really need to
- 12:45Speaker 2: get your eyebrows done, you know. And then she's like,
- 12:54Speaker 2: you know, and then she puts the lipstick on the
- 12:56Speaker 2: and then she's like, Dad, you have to do this.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Yeah, pucker it.
- 13:05Speaker 2: I'm scaring people right now. I am. There's certain people.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Glenn is probably one of them. Scar.
- 13:12Speaker 3: I do have some of those pictures you've sent me.
- 13:15Speaker 2: We should show them.
- 13:16Speaker 4: We should Maybe maybe if I can, I'll pull one
- 13:20Speaker 4: up here in.
- 13:21Speaker 3: A little bit that I'll send you.
- 13:22Speaker 4: I'll send you the latest one, and you can you
- 13:25Speaker 4: can put it up on your Facebook page and ask
- 13:27Speaker 4: people what they think needs to be added. Oh okay,
- 13:31Speaker 4: other than other than an oriental veil fan that you
- 13:35Speaker 4: can cover your face with.
- 13:37Speaker 2: God, Hey, you're gonna be you gonna be watching any
- 13:42Speaker 2: basketball tonight, NBA.
- 13:43Speaker 3: No, I'm not. I'm definitely not a basketball person. See.
- 13:47Speaker 4: I used to be a football person. I used to
- 13:49Speaker 4: watch it all the time. But somebody that I was
- 13:52Speaker 4: with at the time didn't like football and they felt
- 13:55Speaker 4: that I was spending too much time in front of it.
- 13:58Speaker 4: Because the Miami Dolphins is my favorite team. It's also
- 14:03Speaker 4: Diane's up at the meltdown.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Both of us love the Dolphins.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Okay, and we're faithful to you know, you know, somebody's
- 14:09Speaker 4: faithful to a team when they cheer the team on
- 14:12Speaker 4: even when it's last all right, Okay, But when it
- 14:15Speaker 4: came to basketball, that was something I never really got into.
- 14:19Speaker 4: I guess because I was white and short. Oh was
- 14:22Speaker 4: that inappropriate?
- 14:25Speaker 5: No?
- 14:25Speaker 2: I don't take any offense to that okay at all?
- 14:28Speaker 3: Well, you know, some people, why do you have to
- 14:30Speaker 3: say you're white?
- 14:31Speaker 2: But gee, this is Oklahoma City in Cleveland, seven thirty tonight.
- 14:36Speaker 2: This is the big rematch. But it's awesome.
- 14:38Speaker 4: I can't I can't wait to hear what happens. What
- 14:44Speaker 4: about How are you feeling about TikTok these days?
- 14:48Speaker 2: Oh?
- 14:48Speaker 4: I literally have no feeling about TikTok Okay, none at all.
- 14:54Speaker 2: There's a lot of people that are really worked up
- 14:58Speaker 2: about this that we're winding down here on a US
- 15:02Speaker 2: band of TikTok.
- 15:05Speaker 4: Well, that's their platform. So if they if you take
- 15:07Speaker 4: their platform, mohay, they get lost.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean the choices.
- 15:11Speaker 4: You remember when they always said, you know, the choice
- 15:13Speaker 4: between Trump and Biden was kind of a shitty choice,
- 15:16Speaker 4: but you had to choose one because that's all you had.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Well, the same thing with this. You either have.
- 15:21Speaker 4: Facebook or X or TikTok. Those are kind of your
- 15:24Speaker 4: only choices, So you pick one and you go with it.
- 15:27Speaker 3: I go with Facebook.
- 15:29Speaker 4: Because it's mindless. I just go on and scroll through
- 15:32Speaker 4: and then shut it off. Have you heard of red
- 15:34Speaker 4: Note No.
- 15:36Speaker 2: It's kind of the kind of the new TikTok people
- 15:41Speaker 2: are kind of leaning towards that. Now. My buddy Chuck
- 15:45Speaker 2: is having a nervous breakdown over this. Why because he
- 15:48Speaker 2: just lives on TikTok. He just loves it.
- 15:52Speaker 4: And some people get a hobby, Chuck get a hobby. Yeah,
- 15:59Speaker 4: seven thousand new users have joined Red Note.
- 16:06Speaker 3: What is red Note?
- 16:07Speaker 4: It's another It's a Chinese based app that is similar
- 16:12Speaker 4: to TikTok. So eventually that'll be banned too, because they'll
- 16:15Speaker 4: say that that's also getting all out.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Personally, I really don't know anything about it. I don't
- 16:21Speaker 2: too busy to get into that shit. I mean, my god,
- 16:24Speaker 2: you could spend all day.
- 16:26Speaker 4: Well, that's the thing, all these platforms and stuff. It
- 16:30Speaker 4: actually avoids people from socializing face to face. Yes, they
- 16:35Speaker 4: do all this socialization on the computer or on their phone.
- 16:40Speaker 4: They don't look up even to cross the street, right okay.
- 16:44Speaker 4: And I love that because when somebody's crossing the street
- 16:46Speaker 4: in front of me while I'm at a red light
- 16:49Speaker 4: and they're looking down at their phone, what do you do.
- 16:52Speaker 4: I honk the horn really quick and they jump and
- 16:54Speaker 4: drop the phone to the ground, and I'm like, oop, sorry,
- 16:57Speaker 4: my bad.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Because it's like, look up, people Jed, does he really
- 17:02Speaker 2: do that? Yes?
- 17:03Speaker 3: Jed does it too?
- 17:04Speaker 2: Really?
- 17:05Speaker 3: Yes?
- 17:06Speaker 4: And now I got these cords that I ordered. Ready,
- 17:09Speaker 4: this is gonna make you laugh. I got these cards
- 17:12Speaker 4: that I ordered that are in my truck. And when
- 17:15Speaker 4: somebody parks like an asshole in a parking spot where
- 17:19Speaker 4: they take up two spots of this their asses sticking
- 17:22Speaker 4: out because they don't know how to pull all the
- 17:23Speaker 4: way in, I put the card on the windshield and
- 17:26Speaker 4: I say to them, stop parking like an asshole and
- 17:30Speaker 4: start parking like a normal person.
- 17:34Speaker 3: This way they know that I know that they're an asshole.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Well, we all know because you just told us.
- 17:40Speaker 4: All that that I'm the one giving out the card.
- 17:43Speaker 4: You're the one that's giving up yees. So if you
- 17:44Speaker 4: see a big orange card, you'll know it either comes
- 17:48Speaker 4: from me, Jed or my brother because we all have
- 17:51Speaker 4: them in our car.
- 17:53Speaker 3: So don't park like an asshole?
- 17:58Speaker 2: Have you? You and Jed and Michael been sitting in
- 18:03Speaker 2: watching some of the high stakes confirmation hearings.
- 18:07Speaker 3: Oh my god, that's so. That is so.
- 18:11Speaker 4: It is probably the lowest thing on my priority to watch.
- 18:15Speaker 4: I would rather watch something. I would rather watch paint dry, Okay,
- 18:21Speaker 4: I have been paying attention to it, and it's it's
- 18:25Speaker 4: amazing how all these people who are coming up for
- 18:29Speaker 4: the confirmation hearings are going to the hearings so defensive
- 18:34Speaker 4: and so with their backbone up that if they're asked
- 18:37Speaker 4: a question that one of the answers was, you can't
- 18:41Speaker 4: bully me. It was a fucking question people, right, you know.
- 18:44Speaker 4: But they're so defensive, and they should be because not
- 18:47Speaker 4: for nothing that a lot of these people aren't qualified
- 18:50Speaker 4: for the position.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Sure, you know what I mean. And and it's just shocking.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Did you see I did getting grilled for drinking and
- 19:03Speaker 2: his sexual sexual he said, none of that has been
- 19:06Speaker 2: proven with women in combat?
- 19:08Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, what did you see that? Did you see
- 19:13Speaker 4: the Biden farewell speech?
- 19:16Speaker 2: I missed it.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm watching that.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Can you please tell me? Well?
- 19:21Speaker 4: And I knew it was happening, but he tooted his
- 19:23Speaker 4: own horn, you know, well, I've done this, I've done that. Great,
- 19:26Speaker 4: wonderful and then he won America that that the country
- 19:33Speaker 4: is going in a don't I don't remember how he
- 19:37Speaker 4: said it, so I'm going to paraphrase it, but basically
- 19:39Speaker 4: that the country is going to be run by the
- 19:41Speaker 4: one percenters and that we need to stand up and
- 19:45Speaker 4: protect ourselves from that because there's a lot of people
- 19:48Speaker 4: that are coming into the cabinet that aren't qualified. And
- 19:51Speaker 4: even the Trumpster supporters and hey, you know what, he's
- 19:55Speaker 4: going to be the president, okay, but even the supporters
- 19:58Speaker 4: have to look at some of these people that he's
- 20:00Speaker 4: bringing in and saying, really, we couldn't do a little
- 20:04Speaker 4: bit better. You're putting somebody in the Defense Department that
- 20:08Speaker 4: really has no experience in that department, or in the
- 20:11Speaker 4: judicial department that the person that they put up a
- 20:14Speaker 4: judicial department. She was like, you can't bully me, you
- 20:18Speaker 4: can't make and they asked her very simply, do you
- 20:21Speaker 4: agree with the twenty twenty election? And she's like, I
- 20:25Speaker 4: agree that Biden is president, yes, but do you agree
- 20:29Speaker 4: that the election was fair? I agree that Biden was president.
- 20:32Speaker 4: It's like, come on, people, and she said, you can't
- 20:34Speaker 4: bully me into saying nobody's bullying. Just step up and say, yes,
- 20:40Speaker 4: he became the president, he was voted in. Now we
- 20:43Speaker 4: have a new president coming in, you know, come on, right,
- 20:47Speaker 4: because you're showing us exactly what we're going to.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Be dealing with going down the road.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Sure. Sure.
- 20:52Speaker 4: And when you put people in who used to be
- 20:55Speaker 4: a news person on Fox and now they're going to
- 20:58Speaker 4: run an important cabinet, come on, are.
- 21:00Speaker 2: They really qualified?
- 21:02Speaker 4: I know, can we not get better people to I mean,
- 21:05Speaker 4: our country is having issues. Let's get some people in
- 21:08Speaker 4: that can work with. But Trump just wants to align
- 21:12Speaker 4: with people that he knows is going to Yes, I'm
- 21:14Speaker 4: to death and I worry about where we're going with this.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Linda says, hahaha, Gee, I watched her too.
- 21:23Speaker 4: So stupid, right, Linda, wasn't she Wasn't she so evasive
- 21:27Speaker 4: and not even able somebody who's asking for a position
- 21:31Speaker 4: and to be confirmed in a position of importance such
- 21:33Speaker 4: as the judicial system. My god, you can't even answer
- 21:38Speaker 4: a question. You have to be political even on that.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I saw a I saw a comment last night
- 21:48Speaker 2: on Facebook about the inauguration coming up on Monday and
- 21:55Speaker 2: that carry, yeah, it's Monday, Monday, four days, and that
- 22:00Speaker 2: Carrie Underwood is going to be singing. I don't know
- 22:06Speaker 2: if it's America the Beautiful of the National anthem or
- 22:09Speaker 2: what she's gonna be singing something. And I made fun
- 22:14Speaker 2: Trump a little bit yesterday. I said, you know, I
- 22:16Speaker 2: wonder if does Trump even know who Carry Underwood is.
- 22:19Speaker 4: If she likes him, he knows, and I'll bet you
- 22:23Speaker 4: I'm glad you have the camera on me because I
- 22:24Speaker 4: have to show this.
- 22:26Speaker 3: I'll bet you.
- 22:26Speaker 4: While she's singing, Trump is going to be dancing like
- 22:30Speaker 4: he's jerking off two guys like he does every single
- 22:34Speaker 4: time he dances. He's got this jerking off two guys
- 22:37Speaker 4: move And if you ever watch any of the Daily Show,
- 22:42Speaker 4: that's all they talk about and Bill Maher how he's
- 22:45Speaker 4: always jerking off the two guys in that dance. So
- 22:49Speaker 4: I'm sure he'll be doing that. Sorry, Trump says, I'm
- 22:53Speaker 4: just calling it.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Like I see it, Nikka Glenn spitting up his coffee
- 22:59Speaker 2: this morning.
- 22:59Speaker 4: Putty yelling at me or laughing laughing, Oh okay, but
- 23:03Speaker 4: it's true.
- 23:05Speaker 2: So I saw this comment where this lady was like,
- 23:11Speaker 2: I used to respect Carrie Underwood, and I'm like, I
- 23:19Speaker 2: don't know, man. It's like it's sad to me that.
- 23:22Speaker 2: It's like if you like someone's talent, if you like
- 23:27Speaker 2: a singer performer, right, you like their music, you think
- 23:33Speaker 2: they're great just because they're being represented at the inauguration
- 23:41Speaker 2: that all of a sudden you don't like them.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it doesn't minimize who they are as a person.
- 23:46Speaker 2: You know.
- 23:46Speaker 4: One of the things that I have to say, one
- 23:49Speaker 4: of the things that I have to say is and
- 23:52Speaker 4: I say this to the people who voted for Trump,
- 23:54Speaker 4: because you know what's that's what makes America great.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Are we talking about politics right now?
- 23:59Speaker 4: No?
- 24:00Speaker 2: Okay.
- 24:00Speaker 4: What I am going to say though, is I I
- 24:05Speaker 4: am a Biden person. Okay, only because the man has
- 24:08Speaker 4: fifty years of experience. Okay, Now he's gotten to the
- 24:12Speaker 4: age where all right, Ruth Bader Biden is what people
- 24:17Speaker 4: call him because he's you gotta know when to quit.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Okay. But as as a Biden person.
- 24:26Speaker 4: I still know the flaws that he did, and I
- 24:29Speaker 4: accept and talk about them. It's not like, oh, Biden's
- 24:33Speaker 4: the greatest thing. He can do nothing wrong.
- 24:36Speaker 3: Okay.
- 24:36Speaker 4: But people that support Trump, I'm okay with you supporting Trump,
- 24:41Speaker 4: but at least you have to acknowledge the foolishness that
- 24:45Speaker 4: comes with the intelligence and I use the word intelligence
- 24:47Speaker 4: lightly when it comes to Trump, Okay, but you have
- 24:51Speaker 4: to at least be adult enough to say, you know, what,
- 24:56Speaker 4: he does have some bad qualities. He has some good
- 24:59Speaker 4: ones that he can be intimidating, and that may help
- 25:02Speaker 4: us in the long run dealing with with overseas issues.
- 25:06Speaker 4: But he also yeah, he kind of fabricates, and he's
- 25:10Speaker 4: kind of a liar at times, right, Okay, at times
- 25:13Speaker 4: most of the time. But I don't care who you support.
- 25:16Speaker 4: If you're gonna support somebody, you have to be able
- 25:19Speaker 4: to acknowledge their pros and their con sure, Okay. That's
- 25:23Speaker 4: what makes you an intelligent person that you can recognize
- 25:26Speaker 4: the cons and you can look past the cons at
- 25:29Speaker 4: the pros. Okay, I know Bud's cons. Okay. I don't
- 25:34Speaker 4: agree with some of the things he did, okay, or
- 25:37Speaker 4: that he's done all right, But at the same time,
- 25:41Speaker 4: he was a very powerful, influential person in the Senate. Okay,
- 25:47Speaker 4: he has a lot of experience and knowledge. He's just
- 25:50Speaker 4: gotten too old, you know. So you got to be
- 25:53Speaker 4: able to say, here's the pros, here's the con. I
- 25:56Speaker 4: accept both.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Just like when you get married, you love your partner,
- 26:00Speaker 3: but you know your.
- 26:01Speaker 4: Partner has flaws and you accept those flaws because you
- 26:04Speaker 4: love your partner. The same with this, people just know
- 26:07Speaker 4: that Trump is not the God, and he's not a demigod.
- 26:12Speaker 4: He's a person who makes just as many mistakes as
- 26:16Speaker 4: other people that are in position. I think that's important
- 26:19Speaker 4: that because you say something about well, you know, Trump
- 26:23Speaker 4: led about and right away people, oh, you can't say
- 26:26Speaker 4: that he lied to admit it doesn't.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Mean that you they've all lied.
- 26:31Speaker 4: Well, yeah, it's politics. If it's if you're in politics,
- 26:35Speaker 4: you're a liar. You gotta skirt the issues. You got
- 26:39Speaker 4: to be able to not commit to something specific until
- 26:43Speaker 4: everything's unfolded.
- 26:44Speaker 2: I think they all suck.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Well, yes, yes, I think that.
- 26:48Speaker 4: I think every I think we need younger faces because
- 26:52Speaker 4: our world is going to be run by the younger
- 26:55Speaker 4: people as we get even older. So let's get these
- 26:58Speaker 4: younger people in and have them start making some of
- 27:02Speaker 4: the positive changes.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Not all this DEI shit.
- 27:08Speaker 4: Let's just go to the positive changes that need to
- 27:11Speaker 4: be made, and that incorporates DEI and everything else. But
- 27:15Speaker 4: let's not take one topic and make that the primary
- 27:19Speaker 4: topic for the world.
- 27:22Speaker 2: You know, you know who, you know who I like
- 27:27Speaker 2: because he's he it just doesn't give a shit and
- 27:34Speaker 2: says it like it is is Senator Senator Mullen. Yes, yep,
- 27:42Speaker 2: I mean, can you imagine if we had someone and
- 27:48Speaker 2: I don't know that much about him, but I just
- 27:52Speaker 2: know how outspoken he is. Trump's outspoken too. But if
- 27:59Speaker 2: you if you get Mullins rhetoric, exactly, it's a different
- 28:04Speaker 2: a difference. Okay.
- 28:05Speaker 4: You know, when you're when you're trying to win popularity
- 28:08Speaker 4: because you got a big mouth and you want to
- 28:11Speaker 4: appeal to a certain group of people, so you come
- 28:14Speaker 4: across inappropriate or unprofessional. Right, That's different from somebody who's
- 28:19Speaker 4: got something to say. Yeah, you know, like the governor
- 28:24Speaker 4: of California. I'm gonna make people pissed now, But I
- 28:28Speaker 4: would love for him to run. I would love for
- 28:31Speaker 4: him to run because he doesn't fuck around. He just
- 28:33Speaker 4: says it like it is. And now, of course we're
- 28:36Speaker 4: going to have a million people saying, gee, you were
- 28:39Speaker 4: doing good until.
- 28:40Speaker 3: You said that. Again, it's my opinion. It doesn't mean
- 28:43Speaker 3: that I'm.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Right, you know. And there's a lot of finger pointing
- 28:47Speaker 2: going on about California and the governor there, and.
- 28:51Speaker 3: Yes, because he started the fires and he sat back
- 28:54Speaker 3: watching football while the fires were.
- 28:57Speaker 4: Burning down California, right, and the mayor in Africa, and
- 29:01Speaker 4: the mayor was in Africa, yes, I mean, and he
- 29:04Speaker 4: let the reservoirs go dry. And you know there's a
- 29:08Speaker 4: there's a ton of stuff.
- 29:09Speaker 3: Well there's a million excess.
- 29:10Speaker 2: There's always a blame, right, there's always a blame.
- 29:13Speaker 4: And instead of blaming, let's look at this solution. You know,
- 29:18Speaker 4: there's always a blame game. Barry, Barry got flooded. So, well,
- 29:22Speaker 4: what was the mayor doing? And how come they haven't
- 29:24Speaker 4: done this? And it's therefore because they weren't prepared. It's
- 29:28Speaker 4: so easy to blame people. And it's so easy to
- 29:31Speaker 4: blame politicians.
- 29:33Speaker 2: California is is it's a whole bunch of problems that
- 29:39Speaker 2: all came together. It wasn't just the mayor that was
- 29:42Speaker 2: a bimbo and you and the governor. It was a
- 29:46Speaker 2: lot of different things that all came together.
- 29:49Speaker 3: That And you know what makes me laugh.
- 29:51Speaker 4: I laugh when I see the movie stars and the actors, yeah,
- 29:56Speaker 4: in front of the TV saying I lost my home,
- 29:59Speaker 4: I lost everything that I Oh, so you're going to
- 30:02Speaker 4: go stay at one of your other homes?
- 30:05Speaker 5: You know?
- 30:05Speaker 4: Are you opening up your other three homes to the
- 30:08Speaker 4: people who really are homeless and can't afford to rebuild,
- 30:13Speaker 4: so they're crying.
- 30:14Speaker 3: Oh my god, I look, you know what.
- 30:17Speaker 2: But here's the thing. G there's that that fire ripped
- 30:20Speaker 2: through some some pretty middle class neighborhoods too.
- 30:24Speaker 4: I mean it did both, Yes, it did both. It
- 30:27Speaker 4: chose it didn't have a side. It just went right down.
- 30:30Speaker 5: I know.
- 30:31Speaker 2: So there's there's a lot of people that were not rich,
- 30:36Speaker 2: and I mean, you know, if they if they moved here,
- 30:42Speaker 2: they would probably be considered rich. But in Hollywood, in
- 30:46Speaker 2: the outskirts, you know, they just didn't have They're they're
- 30:50Speaker 2: not part of the Hollywood uh celebrity.
- 30:54Speaker 3: Hollywood class class.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Right, yeah, I know, man, it's there's and there's still
- 31:02Speaker 2: so much going on about this.
- 31:04Speaker 4: Well, thank goodness, mother nature has kind of mellowed down,
- 31:07Speaker 4: which is giving them a chance to get ahead, right,
- 31:11Speaker 4: but it's going to take years.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Did you did you hear me saying that Elon Musk
- 31:17Speaker 2: is going to be has a has an office now
- 31:20Speaker 2: in the in the White House so that he can
- 31:23Speaker 2: be right next to Trump as he builds his Department
- 31:27Speaker 2: of Government.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Efficiency President ms.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Will Musk be the next president? Oh dear god.
- 31:35Speaker 3: If people vote for Musk too, you don't know.
- 31:38Speaker 4: How about Daffy Duck. Daffy Daffy Duck is entertaining. Not
- 31:42Speaker 4: a bad idea, you know what I'm saying, not a
- 31:45Speaker 4: bad idea. Daffy Duck doesn't have to put on orange
- 31:48Speaker 4: makeup to look ridiculous, you know what I'm saying.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Well, Elon is going to be right there in the
- 31:57Speaker 2: White House. I would love to see the inside of
- 32:00Speaker 2: his uh, his office. But did you hear last summer.
- 32:07Speaker 4: Uh when he was leaving Capitol Hill, Elon said that
- 32:11Speaker 4: he would challenge Mark Zuckerberg to a fight. Yes, I
- 32:16Speaker 4: remember that, And he's like, I'll fight Zuckerberg any place, anytime,
- 32:21Speaker 4: any rules.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Well, now he's like showing up at at Zuckerberg's house
- 32:34Speaker 2: saying let's go, let's go. Showing up at the house
- 32:39Speaker 2: for what purpose? Because he wants to He.
- 32:44Speaker 4: Wants to show that he's what, that his platform stronger
- 32:48Speaker 4: by kicking the other guy's ass. I know, you know
- 32:53Speaker 4: these are the people that you're supporting people.
- 32:55Speaker 5: Come on, Oh, still wants to fight Mark Zuckerberg. The
- 33:01Speaker 5: billionaire recently visited Capitol Hill and told reporters he would
- 33:05Speaker 5: fight Zuckerberg any place, anytime, any rules met has founded
- 33:10Speaker 5: a not seem eager to Musk's challenge, posting on threads
- 33:13Speaker 5: are we really doing this again? Musk originally challenged Zuckerberg
- 33:17Speaker 5: to a cage match last year, but then later said
- 33:20Speaker 5: he needed to get an MRI first before competing. Zuckerberg,
- 33:23Speaker 5: who trains in jiu jitsu, eventually dropped the idea for
- 33:26Speaker 5: the fight after waiting for his challengers confirmation, saying Musk
- 33:30Speaker 5: wasn't serious about the idea.
- 33:33Speaker 3: Unreal, amazing.
- 33:35Speaker 4: And now this intelligent man, because he's a very intelligent man,
- 33:40Speaker 4: is now going to be in the White House and
- 33:42Speaker 4: his primary goal is basically to tell Trump what to do. Unreal,
- 33:49Speaker 4: that's his goal. So we'll just call him Presidents Musk.
- 33:54Speaker 2: If my father were alive and could witness all of this,
- 34:01Speaker 2: he was ninety when he passed a couple of years ago,
- 34:06Speaker 2: but he I don't know if he'd be able to
- 34:10Speaker 2: handle all of this.
- 34:12Speaker 3: No, your father be like, what the fuck?
- 34:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just politically, I mean, our country is just
- 34:22Speaker 2: such a shit show. I know it is in other
- 34:24Speaker 2: countries too, but my god, in different ways. But it
- 34:28Speaker 2: is like over in Europe they're looking over the pond
- 34:32Speaker 2: over here in America going, oh my god, Are you
- 34:36Speaker 2: kidding me? This is like a Broadway comedy show.
- 34:41Speaker 4: And the thing that's scary is we have allies that
- 34:44Speaker 4: are now telling Trump and our country, don't.
- 34:50Speaker 3: You dare fuck with us. So we have allies that.
- 34:54Speaker 4: Are already gearing up and preparing to defend their turf
- 35:00Speaker 4: because Trump's goal is to make the United States of
- 35:03Speaker 4: the world, you know. And you've got Britain and other
- 35:08Speaker 4: countries that have always worked with us. They didn't always agree,
- 35:13Speaker 4: but they always found a way with our standing president
- 35:17Speaker 4: at the time whoever they were, to get past the
- 35:20Speaker 4: differences to help benefit other countries that are suffering. And
- 35:25Speaker 4: now they're turning to us and looking at us saying
- 35:29Speaker 4: I'm sorry, wait, what are you.
- 35:31Speaker 3: Planning to do? And do you really want us to
- 35:35Speaker 3: be your enemy?
- 35:35Speaker 5: Now?
- 35:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean that's a little scary because we always
- 35:40Speaker 4: had certain allies that we depended on to work with
- 35:45Speaker 4: us so that we were all united fronts. And now
- 35:48Speaker 4: our fronts are stop or stop or I don't know
- 35:51Speaker 4: how to phrase it, are no longer interested in uniting
- 35:56Speaker 4: with us if we're going to threaten their being as
- 35:58Speaker 4: to what they always want.
- 36:00Speaker 2: I think I think that we all need to impose
- 36:05Speaker 2: this acceptable Community Conduct ordinance.
- 36:10Speaker 3: I knew you were going to fit that in some way.
- 36:12Speaker 2: Well, I mean, come on, so you did you see
- 36:20Speaker 2: I was not able to obviously I had the flu.
- 36:23Speaker 2: I wasn't able to make it. Oh and I didn't
- 36:27Speaker 2: watch online either, But did you go to this public
- 36:30Speaker 2: form or did you hear any of this public forms?
- 36:34Speaker 2: I heard?
- 36:34Speaker 3: I heard the first half hour. I have to watch
- 36:37Speaker 3: the rest of it.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Later.
- 36:39Speaker 4: One of my friends sent me the video of the forum,
- 36:44Speaker 4: and the only thing I saw up to was at
- 36:48Speaker 4: the very beginning, Nick made the comment that, well, this
- 36:52Speaker 4: is this forum is for you people to tell us
- 36:55Speaker 4: your concerns and us discuss your topics. And all I
- 37:00Speaker 4: watched was the first half hour, which was Nick doing
- 37:02Speaker 4: all the talking. So I'm curious to watch the rest
- 37:05Speaker 4: of it to see.
- 37:06Speaker 3: How it unfolded.
- 37:09Speaker 2: Yesterday front page of the Times Argus, Jeff right here
- 37:17Speaker 2: in front of me was and this is and I'll
- 37:20Speaker 2: give this to you so you can read it. Frustrations
- 37:23Speaker 2: aired it form. This is a big article and if
- 37:28Speaker 2: you missed it in yesterday's Argus, you ought to pick
- 37:31Speaker 2: it up and read it. But I mean, there's you know,
- 37:37Speaker 2: there were all just all sides that spoke, and you know,
- 37:43Speaker 2: the whole time I'm reading this thing, I'm like, this
- 37:47Speaker 2: should be one of weekly forms. I mean, this shouldn't
- 37:58Speaker 2: this form, in my opinion, shouldn't be like a one
- 38:01Speaker 2: and done type thing. Right. A lot of people showed up.
- 38:05Speaker 2: I think there were like ninety people online alone, and
- 38:14Speaker 2: it was a packed house up there. And obviously the
- 38:17Speaker 2: community has a lot to say on all spectrums. Yes,
- 38:22Speaker 2: and there was you know, there was everything from you know,
- 38:27Speaker 2: stronger police presence, consequences for behavior. There's a lot of
- 38:36Speaker 2: people that were there expressing concern that they you know,
- 38:41Speaker 2: there was a young lady that's like, you know, I
- 38:45Speaker 2: used to walk walk in downtown and I never do anymore. Right,
- 38:48Speaker 2: I don't let my kids go out past dark to
- 38:53Speaker 2: pump gas right in the car.
- 38:55Speaker 3: I think.
- 38:55Speaker 4: What's interesting one of the things Nick had said was
- 38:58Speaker 4: that there's like or eight I'm not sure the exact numbers,
- 39:02Speaker 4: So don't quote me people that are on the major
- 39:06Speaker 4: watch that the police are watching or whatever, and they've
- 39:10Speaker 4: only apprehended one and the rest of them are out
- 39:13Speaker 4: and about walking around.
- 39:15Speaker 2: Yeah, and go ahead right here. During the last year,
- 39:20Speaker 2: stir Elli Castro said eight individuals, four men and four women,
- 39:25Speaker 2: have collectively been the subject of three hundred and sixty
- 39:29Speaker 2: seven police contacts and four hundred and fifty one contacts
- 39:34Speaker 2: from other agencies.
- 39:36Speaker 4: Right, and only one has been actually stopped, right, which
- 39:43Speaker 4: is just which? Can I have one second?
- 39:48Speaker 3: Okig two?
- 39:49Speaker 2: You got a microphone?
- 39:50Speaker 3: Right?
- 39:52Speaker 4: And it may have been this Carlos Perez that that
- 39:55Speaker 4: they may have and the only reason why he was
- 39:57Speaker 4: stopped is because he was thrown in the big house
- 39:59Speaker 4: up and I don't know right, right, but go ahead.
- 40:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:04Speaker 4: This is actually to Judy from last week and a
- 40:07Speaker 4: couple of other people. We had talked about this, that
- 40:11Speaker 4: these people up at Hannaford's and down at Price Chopper
- 40:13Speaker 4: and here in town that are abusing people and confronting
- 40:18Speaker 4: them and all that stuff. Aggressive paying here, Yes, And
- 40:22Speaker 4: I tried to take the human side or the I
- 40:27Speaker 4: tried to look at what are these people's problems and they.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Need help, they do.
- 40:31Speaker 4: However, I had not done my research and looked into
- 40:36Speaker 4: this whole thing like I did this week. And so
- 40:40Speaker 4: to Judy and all those I am one hundred percent
- 40:42Speaker 4: agreeing that these people need to be stopped. That their
- 40:48Speaker 4: actions are inappropriate to the everyday person, and my humanitarian
- 40:52Speaker 4: view goes towards those people who are the victims that
- 40:57Speaker 4: are treated this way, because now I find myself wanting
- 41:02Speaker 4: to carry when I go to Price Chopper or when
- 41:05Speaker 4: I go down to Hannaford's, or wherever the case may be,
- 41:08Speaker 4: because I feel, after everything I've read, threatened and I
- 41:12Speaker 4: haven't even been confronted, and I feel threatened. So to
- 41:16Speaker 4: Judy and the other people, I apologize for coming across
- 41:19Speaker 4: more on their side because I didn't do my research,
- 41:23Speaker 4: but I did it now and God helped them. If
- 41:26Speaker 4: they confront me, because I'll be packing, okay, because I don't.
- 41:31Speaker 4: I don't think anybody should make anyone feel intimidated when
- 41:34Speaker 4: they're just walking down the street.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Well especially you know, in a parking lot of a
- 41:41Speaker 2: grocery store anywhere and you have your kids with you, right,
- 41:45Speaker 2: And this isn't just here in central from Aunt. This
- 41:49Speaker 2: is a problem everywhere, and it's most notably Rutland. And
- 41:55Speaker 2: there's been there's a couple of different Facebook groups that
- 41:58Speaker 2: are detailing, you know, some of the incidents of and
- 42:02Speaker 2: giving example to and in Price Chopper Market thirty two
- 42:08Speaker 2: whatever the hell they call it. Now that this this
- 42:12Speaker 2: guy Carlos Perez, was one of several. And there's a
- 42:17Speaker 2: homeless encampment right over there that abouts right up against
- 42:20Speaker 2: the parking lot. Yes, that he was like, you know,
- 42:25Speaker 2: like right right there in your face, like going around
- 42:28Speaker 2: to seeing people unloading their groceries and coming right up
- 42:33Speaker 2: to the like personal space, way too close and to
- 42:36Speaker 2: the point where not allowing people to even close their doors.
- 42:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:42Speaker 4: Now, nobody should be felt threatened right to do a
- 42:46Speaker 4: simple basic task like going grocery shopping or walking down
- 42:52Speaker 4: the street. The gentleman that got beaten up next to
- 42:54Speaker 4: subway in the alley.
- 42:55Speaker 2: There, right, I mean, come on, Dwayne Beattie.
- 42:58Speaker 3: Yeah, you can't even walk in the street. That I
- 43:00Speaker 3: said to Jed.
- 43:01Speaker 4: Well, from now on, when I go down to Nelson's
- 43:04Speaker 4: or I go to Ubischon's or whatever, it's going to
- 43:07Speaker 4: be sitting right there. I'm not even going to conceal it.
- 43:10Speaker 4: I'm going to say, look down before you talk to me.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, And I think we both would agree
- 43:19Speaker 2: the last thing that anyone wants is for someone to
- 43:23Speaker 2: have to for bullets to be flying.
- 43:25Speaker 3: Correct.
- 43:25Speaker 4: Well, that's the other thing is it's important to make
- 43:29Speaker 4: sure that whatever weapon you use, you are comfortable using
- 43:32Speaker 4: it and you know how to use it, because if
- 43:36Speaker 4: you're going to pull out I know in Vermont, one
- 43:38Speaker 4: of the lords is that you can carry, but if
- 43:40Speaker 4: you're going to pull it out, you have to pull
- 43:42Speaker 4: it out with intent to shoot, not just to flag
- 43:45Speaker 4: it around and try to, you know, scare people. So
- 43:50Speaker 4: make sure if you're going to defend yourself, pepper spray, tasers.
- 43:56Speaker 2: And there was some talk about pepper spray in this
- 44:00Speaker 2: articled yesterday in the Times Argus, and there's there's talk
- 44:03Speaker 2: about defending yourself and what's what's appropriate. You know, panhandling
- 44:09Speaker 2: is is it's it's it's a complicated thing because because
- 44:16Speaker 2: there's some people that are just holding up a sign
- 44:20Speaker 2: and then there's other people that are aggressive aggressive.
- 44:24Speaker 4: Yeah, but you have to remember if you're carrying and
- 44:27Speaker 4: you're going to use that weapon, that there are other
- 44:29Speaker 4: people in that parking lot. There are civilians and innocent
- 44:33Speaker 4: people there, and if you don't know what you're doing
- 44:35Speaker 4: with that that weapon, you could hurt innocent people. So
- 44:39Speaker 4: don't be so quick to just pull out a gun
- 44:42Speaker 4: and threaten a person or whatever. Sure, maybe you go
- 44:45Speaker 4: with a less invasive weapon that you're more comfortable.
- 44:50Speaker 2: With well, and you know, and pepper spray is one
- 44:53Speaker 2: of those things that's been discussed. But you know, Rex
- 44:56Speaker 2: is going to be in here tomorrow and he's going
- 44:58Speaker 2: to be talking about a self def.
- 45:00Speaker 3: Fence program class.
- 45:05Speaker 2: See this is my foggy seminar that Lucas John over
- 45:11Speaker 2: at Granite City MMA is going to be doing soon.
- 45:14Speaker 4: Is that the end of the month, right, Yeah, Yeah.
- 45:16Speaker 4: One of my friends is actually she's worried about her mom,
- 45:21Speaker 4: and she's worried about herself, and she's worried about her
- 45:24Speaker 4: teenage daughter. So all three of them are taking that
- 45:27Speaker 4: course at the end of the month. And you know,
- 45:30Speaker 4: to take it for your own health and for to
- 45:33Speaker 4: keep your body fit and stuff, that's great, but to
- 45:35Speaker 4: take it because you're afraid to walk down this street.
- 45:40Speaker 4: Those ordinances should get a little bit stronger and enforced
- 45:44Speaker 4: a little bit harder.
- 45:46Speaker 2: Well, this this acceptable let me see what is it
- 45:50Speaker 2: called again? Acceptable Community Conduct ordinance was rescinded last month
- 45:58Speaker 2: by a vote of seven only six to fifty five
- 46:01Speaker 2: in Brattleborough, where it was it was introduced and shot
- 46:05Speaker 2: down right away. But now Nicholas Starelli, Castro our city manager,
- 46:10Speaker 2: is asking, hey, is this something that we should explore
- 46:19Speaker 2: as a possibility in in Barry and what he's saying,
- 46:23Speaker 2: But it's like, what the hell is I mean, it's like, right, well,
- 46:28Speaker 2: what he's saying is what's what's what's a violation of
- 46:31Speaker 2: the you know, I mean there was a fight out
- 46:34Speaker 2: here on the sidewalk a couple of weeks ago. What's
- 46:40Speaker 2: you know, what's going to happen?
- 46:43Speaker 4: You're you're you know, oh that guy uh yelled fuck
- 46:48Speaker 4: on the sidewalk, So he's in violation of the Community
- 46:52Speaker 4: Acceptable Behavior ordinance, So we need to call the police,
- 46:57Speaker 4: right you know. It's like, yeah, but what I was saying,
- 47:01Speaker 4: what he's saying is that you the community are complaining
- 47:06Speaker 4: about these things happening, and we are trying to come
- 47:10Speaker 4: up with a solution. Help us out here. Don't say
- 47:14Speaker 4: you people are doing nothing about blah blah blah, and
- 47:16Speaker 4: then we set an ordinance and you shoot it down,
- 47:19Speaker 4: because if you're gonna shoot it down, okay. I think
- 47:22Speaker 4: what they need to do before they set the ordinance
- 47:24Speaker 4: is they need to have more meetings with the community
- 47:27Speaker 4: and let the communities say yes, hey, yeah, if somebody
- 47:32Speaker 4: curses in the street, I'm not going to have them arrested.
- 47:35Speaker 4: But if somebody walks up and brushes up against me
- 47:38Speaker 4: and I say oh sorry, and they say, oh, you
- 47:40Speaker 4: want to fight, then we have an issue because the
- 47:42Speaker 4: person is aggressively inappropriate. Right, Okay, So they need to
- 47:47Speaker 4: hear from the community, and the community needs to go
- 47:49Speaker 4: to these meetings with concrete solutions, not complaints, right, because
- 47:54Speaker 4: we know what the complaints are, so don't go you know,
- 47:57Speaker 4: I went down. So okay, man, thank you.
- 47:59Speaker 2: I hear you. What would you like to see.
- 48:01Speaker 3: Done about it? Well, I don't know.
- 48:03Speaker 2: Yeah, there's so many stories of and so we know
- 48:06Speaker 2: there's a problem. I have complaints. I mean I've seen things,
- 48:10Speaker 2: I've eat, witness things. But you're right, we need real
- 48:13Speaker 2: solutions here.
- 48:14Speaker 3: He needs to come with the solutions.
- 48:16Speaker 4: Doesn't mean we're going to follow your solutions or that
- 48:19Speaker 4: they are going to go with it, but you need
- 48:21Speaker 4: to come with concrete ideas.
- 48:23Speaker 2: Well. This is what I was just going to say.
- 48:26Speaker 2: Glenn just said, if there aren't enough police officers to
- 48:30Speaker 2: enforce the ordinance, it's not really going to matter. Perhaps
- 48:32Speaker 2: the city needs to enhance their hiring program for the
- 48:36Speaker 2: police department. That's a whole another issue.
- 48:41Speaker 3: That's another can of worms.
- 48:42Speaker 2: Yes, you know I've said before, people are not lined
- 48:48Speaker 2: up waiting to get into the policing academy these days,
- 48:52Speaker 2: right anywhere, not just from un anywhere, right, they just aren't.
- 48:57Speaker 4: And that's why we have one item eight thirteen you
- 49:01Speaker 4: and I in the squad car, not one atum twelve
- 49:04Speaker 4: one ATEM thirteen. That's going to be us.
- 49:08Speaker 2: Just saying, can Jed fit us out with a little
- 49:12Speaker 2: with a little light that goes around and put it
- 49:15Speaker 2: on the magnet on.
- 49:16Speaker 3: Jed'll be driving the car, okay, all right.
- 49:18Speaker 4: With his hand on his gun all right, and with
- 49:21Speaker 4: his knife, and he'll be like, show me where the
- 49:23Speaker 4: problem is.
- 49:24Speaker 2: All right, I'm gonna I'm gonna get my go pro
- 49:27Speaker 2: working and we're going to do a test run.
- 49:29Speaker 4: On it's we're going to but we have to stop
- 49:35Speaker 4: a Duncan Donuts to get donuts.
- 49:37Speaker 2: Fine, that's fine. Would he be willing to? So he'll
- 49:40Speaker 2: drive and we'll put the GoPro, we'll suction cup it
- 49:43Speaker 2: right on and we'll just go.
- 49:46Speaker 4: My brother used to have because my brother was an
- 49:47Speaker 4: EMT he used to have the light, Yeah, that he
- 49:50Speaker 4: put in his car, So I'll ask him if he
- 49:52Speaker 4: still has that, because that'll be all light.
- 49:55Speaker 2: Yeah. Sheila just says calling the police about someone cussing
- 49:58Speaker 2: in public is absolutely ridiculous.
- 50:01Speaker 3: Well, you're wasting their time, of course you are.
- 50:03Speaker 4: Okay, Let's use them for what they're needed for, to
- 50:06Speaker 4: protect and serve, not to We can't ask the police
- 50:10Speaker 4: to baby everything.
- 50:11Speaker 5: I don't.
- 50:11Speaker 2: I don't know how many police officers we have in
- 50:18Speaker 2: the Granite City, but I know it's not enough number
- 50:21Speaker 2: one to in my opinion, effectively serve and protect the
- 50:30Speaker 2: what eighty five hundred residents. Yeah.
- 50:35Speaker 4: Yeah, Well it also extends up to Barry Town because
- 50:40Speaker 4: you know, I live in Barry Town and people always say, ooh,
- 50:44Speaker 4: you're up in the area where nothing happens.
- 50:46Speaker 3: No, they do.
- 50:47Speaker 4: If you we always left, Like if I went to
- 50:50Speaker 4: my neighbor's house, I always left my door unlocked in
- 50:52Speaker 4: the front because well, first of all, I could see
- 50:54Speaker 4: my house, and second of all, I felt safe. Now
- 50:57Speaker 4: when we go over there to play D and D
- 50:59Speaker 4: on Sunday nights, I locked my doors, yeah right, and
- 51:03Speaker 4: I locked my truck because I'm like, people are complaining
- 51:06Speaker 4: that there's been breakings and people literally just walking into
- 51:10Speaker 4: houses and taking what they want. Yeah, and it's like, wow,
- 51:14Speaker 4: this is an issue.
- 51:16Speaker 2: I have the utmost respect for our Chief Brad Vale
- 51:21Speaker 2: and all of the police officers. And I note that
- 51:24Speaker 2: I think they just added a new one just a
- 51:27Speaker 2: few days ago. But recruitment is it's not easy, man,
- 51:35Speaker 2: It's not easy. Can you imagine all of the stuff
- 51:38Speaker 2: that you have to deal with today. Back in the
- 51:41Speaker 2: old days, it was you know, or responded to a crime.
- 51:44Speaker 2: Now it's domestic, and it might be domestic, it might
- 51:48Speaker 2: not be. And it's kids, and it's the elderly, and
- 51:52Speaker 2: it's it's welfare checks and it's I mean, my god. Yeah.
- 51:56Speaker 4: Well a perfect example is I was speaking to somebody
- 51:58Speaker 4: yesterday and they told me they have a child who
- 52:02Speaker 4: has some mental disorders, that the child needs to get help,
- 52:07Speaker 4: and the child has gone to the psych water a
- 52:10Speaker 4: couple of times for evaluations because this child is just unruly.
- 52:15Speaker 4: And so when the child explodes and has their event
- 52:20Speaker 4: or their fit, the neighbors in the apartment building call
- 52:25Speaker 4: the police, and the police come and they put it
- 52:29Speaker 4: as domestic domestic argument between the husband and the wife.
- 52:35Speaker 4: But it's not it's the child. So now the apartment
- 52:39Speaker 4: building is saying, you know what, you two are always fighting.
- 52:43Speaker 4: If this continues, we're going to have to ask you
- 52:45Speaker 4: to leave, and they're like, but it's not my wife
- 52:48Speaker 4: and I. The child has some mental issues that we
- 52:52Speaker 4: are trying to deal with. And when the child explodes,
- 52:55Speaker 4: we try very hard to de escalate and then remove
- 52:59Speaker 4: and bring to someplace where the child can get the help.
- 53:02Speaker 4: But right away it goes under domestic issues. So we're
- 53:06Speaker 4: not even addressing the issue of this child needs help.
- 53:10Speaker 4: We're blaming it on well, the parents. You know, I
- 53:14Speaker 4: think it's a very tough world right now.
- 53:17Speaker 2: I think our mental health agencies in and around here
- 53:22Speaker 2: in central Vermont are so tapped. They're so so busy
- 53:29Speaker 2: on so many different levels. And I mean, look at
- 53:33Speaker 2: Washington County mental Health takes the time and pulls together
- 53:39Speaker 2: the resources to host these wellness Wednesdays, which they did
- 53:45Speaker 2: last night, where you can go and get some massage
- 53:50Speaker 2: or some reiki or whatever sound healing, all of this
- 53:56Speaker 2: stuff for free. But it's like, you know, there's people
- 54:03Speaker 2: that are saying, we need more mental health agencies. We
- 54:07Speaker 2: need more mental health outlets, we need more outreach to
- 54:12Speaker 2: community from in a mental health perspective. And then we've
- 54:17Speaker 2: got other people saying we need more shelters. We need
- 54:19Speaker 2: a shelter right here, and Barry, we need I mean,
- 54:25Speaker 2: it's it's.
- 54:28Speaker 3: Progressing.
- 54:29Speaker 2: Is to find the root of all of this. We
- 54:32Speaker 2: could go deeper and deeper and deeper and deeper, and
- 54:36Speaker 2: it's so complicated.
- 54:37Speaker 4: And we can blame. But instead of blaming, let's come
- 54:40Speaker 4: up with solutions. And solutions take time and money and
- 54:45Speaker 4: energy that people.
- 54:46Speaker 2: But in the meantime, these quote quality of life crimes
- 54:52Speaker 2: is what they're being called aggressive panhandling and stuff like that.
- 54:56Speaker 2: That is becoming a public safety issue now, yes, where
- 55:01Speaker 2: people are not only discouraged about going out at night,
- 55:06Speaker 2: but also feeling unsafe if they want to go to
- 55:10Speaker 2: Hannaford's after dark. We've crossed a line here, Buddy's home, right,
- 55:19Speaker 2: I mean, have you seen the video of this guy
- 55:23Speaker 2: and this woman the other night, just a few nights ago,
- 55:27Speaker 2: knocking on this guy's door locally.
- 55:31Speaker 3: At two thirty in the morning.
- 55:34Speaker 2: Yeah, bang and bang and banging, looking trying to look
- 55:38Speaker 2: in and two thirty in the morning.
- 55:43Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's that's sad. It's really sad.
- 55:48Speaker 2: What the hell's that all about.
- 55:50Speaker 3: I know somebody who went their home.
- 55:53Speaker 4: When they're at their home, they have those doorjams, those poles,
- 56:00Speaker 4: and they jam all their doors and they're sitting in
- 56:05Speaker 4: their living room watching TV. It's not even I can see. Okay,
- 56:09Speaker 4: you're going to bed, so you put. They come home,
- 56:12Speaker 4: they lock their door and they put the door jams up,
- 56:14Speaker 4: and then they start living their life.
- 56:18Speaker 2: Even people out in the middle of nowhere in the country.
- 56:21Speaker 4: Well, that's even more dangerous because now you're out in
- 56:24Speaker 4: bumfuck Egypt. Yeah okay, and there's a lot of places
- 56:27Speaker 4: here that are rule.
- 56:29Speaker 3: Okay, your house.
- 56:30Speaker 4: The other places, those are places that are not instantly
- 56:35Speaker 4: in the eye and on the map of people. So
- 56:38Speaker 4: those places are perfect targets, especially when they have a
- 56:41Speaker 4: bond next to it, where you're in your home but
- 56:45Speaker 4: you don't know who's in your bond, you know, and
- 56:49Speaker 4: you don't feel safe.
- 56:50Speaker 3: And so what do they do.
- 56:52Speaker 4: They put flood lights everywhere, motion activated flood lights everywhere.
- 56:56Speaker 4: So now when somebody even drives by on my street, Okay,
- 57:01Speaker 4: I live on Windywood, which is a pretty much open road.
- 57:05Speaker 4: But when people drive by the house across the street
- 57:08Speaker 4: has floodlights, and I feel he could probably change the
- 57:11Speaker 4: sensor a little bit. But if this is what he
- 57:14Speaker 4: needs to do to feel comfortable, great, He's an older
- 57:16Speaker 4: gentleman with a disabled wife and a card rides by
- 57:21Speaker 4: those floodlights. Boom, they light up the whole area, and
- 57:24Speaker 4: they light up the front.
- 57:25Speaker 2: Of my house.
- 57:26Speaker 4: Sure, and I can't say to him, hey, could you
- 57:29Speaker 4: turn it down? Because if that's what makes him feel
- 57:32Speaker 4: safe in his home, sure, I, as a community member,
- 57:36Speaker 4: am not going to be the dick that says, hey,
- 57:39Speaker 4: that's reflecting in my house. I'm going to be the
- 57:42Speaker 4: one that says it's a shame that he feels that
- 57:44Speaker 4: the only way he can protect himself and his wife
- 57:47Speaker 4: at nighttime is to make sure that if you come
- 57:49Speaker 4: anywhere near his home, he's going to let the whole
- 57:52Speaker 4: world know somebody's there.
- 57:53Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a great way. That's a great attitude. Gie.
- 57:58Speaker 4: Well, you have to, you know, instead of criticizing everybody
- 58:02Speaker 4: and saying that affects me, flip it over. And that's
- 58:06Speaker 4: that humanitarian side that I was trying to look at
- 58:09Speaker 4: last week that I realized was not in the best
- 58:13Speaker 4: interest of our community.
- 58:14Speaker 2: Judy's listening this morning, Be.
- 58:16Speaker 3: Careful, sorry, Judy.
- 58:19Speaker 4: I just think that I look at it as if
- 58:21Speaker 4: this is what you need to feel safe. And I
- 58:23Speaker 4: even spoke to him because he's right across the street.
- 58:26Speaker 4: He was snowblowing and stuff, and I spoke to him
- 58:28Speaker 4: and said, if ever you feel uncomfortable, give me a
- 58:32Speaker 4: hola jed and I'll come right over and check out
- 58:34Speaker 4: the property.
- 58:35Speaker 2: He probably looked at you and went, uh no, he's.
- 58:39Speaker 3: A really sweet man, you know, he really is.
- 58:42Speaker 4: And he does the same for The nice thing about
- 58:44Speaker 4: my neighborhood is everybody watches out for everybody. And people
- 58:48Speaker 4: call me missus Kravitz. You remember Missus Kravitz. Okay, Missus
- 58:52Speaker 4: Kravitz stood at her window all the time looking out
- 58:55Speaker 4: the curtains, saying, Abna, look she's going here. Look this
- 58:59Speaker 4: person's doing that. And so when somebody came down my driveway,
- 59:04Speaker 4: a friend of mine was, I was at the door
- 59:06Speaker 4: and I opened he says, Jesus Christ. He says, I
- 59:08Speaker 4: didn't even get out of my car. You're you're like
- 59:10Speaker 4: Missus Kravitch. You know everything's going on. Well, First of all,
- 59:13Speaker 4: my windows affloored a ceiling across the whole house, so
- 59:17Speaker 4: you kind of can't miss it. But also I need
- 59:20Speaker 4: to know what's going on, not necessarily in my property,
- 59:23Speaker 4: but everywhere else. Sure you know, who's that person part
- 59:27Speaker 4: in her driveway? She's at work. Why is that person there?
- 59:30Speaker 4: Oh he's picking up that her son to take him
- 59:33Speaker 4: to Okay, fine, but that's the only way we're going
- 59:36Speaker 4: to support each other is by understanding their fears and
- 59:40Speaker 4: trying to help lessen it even.
- 59:42Speaker 3: A little bit.
- 59:43Speaker 4: Sure, you know, Yeah, And if it means taking down
- 59:47Speaker 4: some predator or somebody who's making the community feel uncomfortable, then.
- 59:50Speaker 3: That's what we have to do.
- 59:52Speaker 4: Sure, right, So that's my so perspect Listen, if you
- 59:58Speaker 4: haven't yet read this article on the front page of
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: the Time Sarcus yesterday.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: I'll show it to you again right here. Hold on
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: a second life, fuldish, Hold people right here. If you
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: haven't read this, you really should. There's a lot of
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: insightful stuff in here. And there's just some plenty of
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: stuff in here that I don't agree with. H with
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: folks that spoke out and and what they said. There's
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: some stuff that I very much do agree with. But
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: that doesn't matter what I agree with or disagree with.
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: You should read the article. You should read it, think
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: about it, come up with your own like you say,
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: come up with your own interpretations of this. What do
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: I need to do? How do I need to respond
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: and react to this? Do I need to go to
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: the next form? Do I need to get a handgun?
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: Do I need to learn how to how to defend myself?
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: How am I going to react if and when I
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: am confronted by someone who is aggressively panhandling and won't
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: take no for an answer. Now I can tell you.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: I mean, I go grocery shopping all the time. Sometimes
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: I'm with Lily. Sometimes I'm with Lily and Sheerlyn. Sometimes
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: I'm alone. I'm going to react differently. If Lily is
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: with me, then I am if I'm alone. If I'm alone,
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: I'm probably going to be a little bit more level headed.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: I understand what's going on here, and I'm going to
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: take a deep breath, and I'm going to be patient.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: I'm going to be consistent with my response, which is no,
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: I don't have any cash on me, please step away,
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: or so on and so forth. But if I got
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: Lily with me, and then if someone won't take no
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: for an answer and is moving in on my personal
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: space and I got my kid with.
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: Me, yeah, then you're gonna protect I don't know, okay,
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: but make sure you educate Lily as to why you're
- 1:02:23Speaker 4: reacting this way. I'm your father and my job is
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: to protect and if somebody ever comes between my belief
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: of how to protect you, I will do whatever I
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: have to do so that Lily is not shocked all
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: of a sudden that dad has done this behavior that
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: she knows she's that you're doing it as a father
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: protecting they're young. You know what I'll do. I'll bring
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: my goddamn air horn. Yeah I got an air horn.
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: Sometimes that's effective enough porn.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: I'll just let that thing rip.
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: Into everybody parking lot knows that you're there. But you
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: promised me something today. Let's get off that you promised me.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: I did today.
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: I did, and we're going to close out with yes,
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: I want that all right?
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: Oh god, you got it on my face because you
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: know I'm going to be like.
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: What here we go. I want to tell you about
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: Walmart and their logo Walmart just got its first facelift
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: in nearly twenty years. That's the company has hired another
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: company to redesign. Did I say the word redesign? Yeah?
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: I did.
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: Okay, it scares me.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: Their logo, which they say the new design of the
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: new new Walmart logo is inspired by Sam Walton, the
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: founder of Walmart and Sam's Club, by his old trucker's hat.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: I'm going to show the logo here in a second, okay,
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: and I want to see your facial reactions.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: When you pipe this up.
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: I envision like cartoons of something stupid.
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: How much did they spend on this?
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: Are you? Are you? Are you sitting down?
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: I am sitting down.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: One point two five million dollars. Good that Walmart gave
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: to an agency to here's the word again, redesign, redesign.
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: Okay, the logo before we can emp redesign. That's that's
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: making my mind go somewhere totally different.
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: This is a global branding agencies. We're worth five point
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: two billion dollars in twenty twenty three.
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: Okay, so they're good.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: That should tell you something. Yeah, Walmart has right now,
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: guess how much money they've got in the bank globally.
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: I couldn't even touch it. I don't know.
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: Listeners, in your mind, take a guess in your mind
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: how much money Walmart's got in the Walmart bank account.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: Here's now that you've got that figure in your mind,
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: here's the number. Seven hundred and thirty five billion dollars.
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: I was thinking like one hundred and fifty billion, but okay.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: Wow, seven thirty five. So putting things into perspective, and
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: everything's relative. If you got seven hundred and thirty five
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: billion dollars in the bank, to spend one point two
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: five million to have nothing to have someone redo your logo, yeah,
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: that's like spending ten bucks. Right. The new logo is
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: going to appear on the Walmart website and app this month,
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: and it, over time is going to be rolling out
- 1:06:35Speaker 2: to the ten thousand, five hundred stores in America, so.
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: They're gradually getting us into it so we don't get shot.
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: Yes, Okay, Before I show you the logo, I want
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: to I just want to read a quote here from
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: from your laugh from from the uh William White, who
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: is the senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Walmart. Really,
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: here's his here's his By the way, the last time
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: they tweaked the logo was in two thousand and eight
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: when they dropped the little star between the wall and
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: the mart YEP and they combined the words into one.
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: That was two thousand and eight. So it's been a while.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: But here's the quote from William White again, senior vice
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: President and Chief Marketing Officer of Walmart. This update, rooted
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: in the legacy of our founder, Sam Walton, demonstrates our
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: evolving capabilities and long standing commitment to serve our customers
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: of today and tomorrow.
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: Shit, it's pretty intense. They must have done a lot
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: of work.
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: Are you Are you ready?
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: I am ready ready? Yes?
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: Are you sitting down?
- 1:08:16Speaker 3: I am sitting down. I picked her like this purple
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: duck or something.
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: Here it is. I'm gonna show you as the screen
- 1:08:27Speaker 4: share here. You're not gonna believe this.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: Are you ready?
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: Yeah? Is the left of before?
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: Yes?
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: Okay, there it is?
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: There it is?
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: Gee, but here it is.
- 1:08:48Speaker 4: But the one on the left is the before, and
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: the one on the right is the after?
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: What?
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: What's that? What the fuck did they do? Made it
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: a little bit darker?
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: How much did.
- 1:09:09Speaker 6: They spend one? What a fucking waste of money?
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: I swear to God, I was expecting something like dress.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: The wow wow, I just I can't, I can't
