- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: This is Almost Famous Podcast.
- 0:07Speaker 3: We have a very special episode today, a very unique episode,
- 0:11Speaker 3: something we don't get to do very often, right because
- 0:14Speaker 3: there's only one show that we can really do it
- 0:16Speaker 3: with in this kind of format. Ashley, tell all of
- 0:19Speaker 3: our listeners who we have today.
- 0:22Speaker 4: We have Natalie who is Pascal's daughter, and we have
- 0:26Speaker 4: her here today to give us all the deeds about
- 0:29Speaker 4: her dad. Listen, we are so compelled by him, so
- 0:32Speaker 4: we're so excited to know what it was like growing
- 0:35Speaker 4: up with him and how he uses a dad. So
- 0:38Speaker 4: can we start with like day one, the.
- 0:40Speaker 5: Day one from birth?
- 0:44Speaker 6: Yeah, I have to say growing up with him is
- 0:46Speaker 6: he honestly was like the best dad. He is very energetic,
- 0:50Speaker 6: as you guys can tell. So we were always doing things.
- 0:53Speaker 6: We went to every Disney on Ice show. Obviously, my
- 0:58Speaker 6: hair was always pristine. Was actually the one to always
- 1:00Speaker 6: do my hair in those cute little butterfly clips and
- 1:03Speaker 6: those tight cute ponytails.
- 1:06Speaker 5: He was a great dad growing up.
- 1:08Speaker 4: Honestly, your dad owns a salon? Is it a medspo?
- 1:11Speaker 5: So yeah, yeah, okay, it.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Is Okay, hold up, I need to pause you there though.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Is it multiple because we don't have to get into
- 1:23Speaker 3: his personal finances or how you two have lived in
- 1:27Speaker 3: the world, But at least from the first couple of weeks,
- 1:31Speaker 3: it would seem that this medspa has done very well
- 1:35Speaker 3: for him.
- 1:36Speaker 5: It has done very well.
- 1:37Speaker 6: Yes, he started with one downtown, so that's the one
- 1:43Speaker 6: that he had when I was younger.
- 1:45Speaker 5: Then yes, in Chicago.
- 1:47Speaker 6: Then he opened another one in the suburb, and then
- 1:51Speaker 6: he closed both of those and then opened a big one,
- 1:54Speaker 6: and then he started to kind of branch out and
- 1:57Speaker 6: then realized that he didn't really want to franchise, and
- 2:01Speaker 6: now he just has the one and he's like semi
- 2:03Speaker 6: retired and he only works a couple days a week
- 2:05Speaker 6: now and travels a lot.
- 2:07Speaker 4: So so did he start out as a hair stylist?
- 2:10Speaker 5: He started sweeping the floors?
- 2:12Speaker 4: Actually amazing, that's right. He told us that on the
- 2:15Speaker 4: one episode, the one date.
- 2:16Speaker 5: Yeah, he was an assistant.
- 2:19Speaker 4: What drew him to esthetics? And has he always been
- 2:23Speaker 4: so metrosexual? Which we have kind of retired that word,
- 2:27Speaker 4: but your dad fits it perfectly.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess would you categorize him as like metro
- 2:33Speaker 3: I would.
- 2:33Speaker 6: Say that he definitely cares about the way he looks
- 2:36Speaker 6: and the way he dresses and his appearance.
- 2:39Speaker 5: For sure. Yeah, would I don't.
- 2:44Speaker 6: I don't know if he can say he's Metro, but
- 2:46Speaker 6: quite possibly, I would say it drew him to.
- 2:52Speaker 5: Hair was his cousin.
- 2:55Speaker 6: I believe it's his cousin, Charles Eifergen, and he started
- 2:59Speaker 6: kind of working with him and then decided that he
- 3:01Speaker 6: kind of wanted to go to hair school, and then
- 3:04Speaker 6: saved up all of his dollars and opened up his
- 3:06Speaker 6: first salon.
- 3:07Speaker 3: So yeah, it's it's a really cool story, uh, to
- 3:11Speaker 3: see the progress when you when you take your dad
- 3:15Speaker 3: and your family's life as a whole and see kind
- 3:19Speaker 3: of how it has gotten to this point that now
- 3:22Speaker 3: he's on national television. Yeah, we're going to get back
- 3:25Speaker 3: to kind of the story of all that and how
- 3:28Speaker 3: you grew up. You're obviously living in Canada now yourself.
- 3:31Speaker 2: What brought you there? That's not where he's living, right.
- 3:35Speaker 5: No, my dad lives in Chicago.
- 3:38Speaker 6: So when my parents separated, my mom continued to work
- 3:42Speaker 6: at the salon for years. Like they're there. They still
- 3:45Speaker 6: get along like great to this day. They have a
- 3:47Speaker 6: great like hope parenting relationship. And then my mom wasn't
- 3:55Speaker 6: working at the salon anymore, and so she's like, I think.
- 3:57Speaker 5: I'm going to go back. My mom's from Canada, so.
- 3:59Speaker 6: Like, I think I'm to go back to Canada with
- 4:01Speaker 6: my family and stuff like that. And so I moved
- 4:04Speaker 6: to Canada when I was about eight, and then my
- 4:07Speaker 6: dad flew me out to Chicago every Friday after school.
- 4:11Speaker 6: Every Sunday, I'd get back on a plane to be
- 4:13Speaker 6: back at school on Monday. And that happened for probably
- 4:17Speaker 6: the first two years I lived here. I was a
- 4:19Speaker 6: very frequent flyer. And then I started like getting friends
- 4:22Speaker 6: and birthday parties, and I started getting into horses and
- 4:26Speaker 6: having competitions, and I was like, I don't want to
- 4:27Speaker 6: go every weekend anymore. And so it kind of started
- 4:30Speaker 6: like getting slower and slower. And then I went to
- 4:32Speaker 6: hair school in Chicago. I lived there for about a
- 4:34Speaker 6: year again and then came back to Canada.
- 4:37Speaker 4: So all right, so I'm very interested on how your
- 4:39Speaker 4: parents met and what their relationship was like, because that's
- 4:43Speaker 4: something we didn't get from him on that date.
- 4:46Speaker 6: Yeah, so my parents, Okay, so my mom was actually
- 4:50Speaker 6: a model and my dad was a hairstylist, and they
- 4:54Speaker 6: actually just learned the story the other day. They they
- 4:58Speaker 6: ended up at the same event and he sent one
- 5:03Speaker 6: of his friends to go talk to my mom and
- 5:05Speaker 6: she was like no, like whatever, and then somehow she
- 5:08Speaker 6: ended up giving her his friend her number, and the
- 5:11Speaker 6: two girls kind of started communicating, and then she passed
- 5:14Speaker 6: along the message to my dad, and my dad was like,
- 5:19Speaker 6: just come out with me, come out with me, and
- 5:20Speaker 6: she's like, okay, fine, and then they started dating. They
- 5:22Speaker 6: moved in together after two months, and they were together
- 5:26Speaker 6: for about seven or eight years, I.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Believe, so in this time period in their life. Do
- 5:33Speaker 3: you know how your dad, as a married man, never
- 5:37Speaker 3: did his own laundry.
- 5:40Speaker 6: Uh, honestly, I'm not gonna lie. Like from birth, I
- 5:44Speaker 6: don't recall him ever doing it. I don't recall him
- 5:48Speaker 6: ever cooking. The only thing he's actually made, actually I
- 5:50Speaker 6: have a video of it somewhere, was him actually cooking
- 5:53Speaker 6: a pasta one night, and I was like, oh my gosh,
- 5:55Speaker 6: you use your pots and pants. I thought they were
- 5:56Speaker 6: just here for show. He's done that and actually makes
- 6:00Speaker 6: a really good salad dressing. I have to say, those
- 6:03Speaker 6: are the two things that I've actually seen him kind
- 6:06Speaker 6: of put together. And this was I think just like
- 6:09Speaker 6: last year or the year before that, I saw him
- 6:12Speaker 6: actually use his pots and pans for the first time.
- 6:15Speaker 6: It was like a documenting moment. But no ever since then,
- 6:20Speaker 6: ever since I was little, we went up for breakfast, lunch,
- 6:21Speaker 6: and dinner, usually a nice dinner every night. He has
- 6:24Speaker 6: his dinners planned out. He's very organized, even when we
- 6:28Speaker 6: go on trips, like he pre plans where we're eating dinner. No,
- 6:33Speaker 6: like we always had a housekeeper, Like I remember having
- 6:36Speaker 6: a nanny and a housekeeper. And he just he's just
- 6:38Speaker 6: never done it. And I think that maybe like since
- 6:43Speaker 6: he started, maybe like the machines of like the laundry
- 6:46Speaker 6: machines have changed. He's like this is just too complicated
- 6:49Speaker 6: now and he just doesn't do it anymore. But yeah,
- 6:52Speaker 6: I know, he's just he's just never done it.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Okay, So the METSPA must be doing very well.
- 6:58Speaker 6: Yeah, he's he's pretty he's pretty successful for sure. It's
- 7:03Speaker 6: definitely in a pretty high end area in the North
- 7:06Speaker 6: Shorre of Chicago. Yeah, and a lot of his clients,
- 7:12Speaker 6: I would say the people that come to the sun
- 7:13Speaker 6: are pretty well off and yeah, it's very busy every
- 7:17Speaker 6: time I go in there.
- 7:18Speaker 4: So my dad also has never done his laundry since
- 7:22Speaker 4: they've been married. I'm pretty sure.
- 7:24Speaker 6: Really, Okay, so it's not that weird. Everyone's like freaking out.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 7:28Speaker 4: I no, I don't think that that's I personally growing
- 7:31Speaker 4: up the way I did. My dad doesn't touch laundry.
- 7:35Speaker 6: Yeah, like I hear have laundry when I was nineteen, Like,
- 7:38Speaker 6: for the first time, my girlfriend I my launder off
- 7:40Speaker 6: at my mom's house and she's like, natally, you have
- 7:43Speaker 6: to stop doing this, like this is embarrassing.
- 7:45Speaker 4: I did the same thing my freshman year of college.
- 7:48Speaker 4: I was like, okay, Mom, I guess you should teach me.
- 7:50Speaker 4: And then I ended up just bringing it home every weekend.
- 7:53Speaker 5: That's what I did.
- 7:54Speaker 4: If only I had known it was so easy to do,
- 7:58Speaker 4: I would have been fine.
- 8:00Speaker 6: So easy, I know, but it's just I just was like,
- 8:02Speaker 6: oh my god, I'm to ruin something. Or my dad
- 8:04Speaker 6: always like kind of made it seem kind of scary.
- 8:06Speaker 6: He's like, well, you know, your clothes are gonna drink
- 8:08Speaker 6: and like like.
- 8:09Speaker 4: I don't know, Like, yeah, my mom has always been
- 8:11Speaker 4: the one who's like he should dries jeans out of
- 8:14Speaker 4: the dryer like ings them. So I thought that there
- 8:17Speaker 4: was like some science to everything, and really I just.
- 8:21Speaker 5: Yeah, it's actually very simple.
- 8:25Speaker 3: As interesting as this is, I do want to talk
- 8:28Speaker 3: to you, Natalie uh And on the Almost Fumous podcast.
- 8:32Speaker 3: You can always tell us what we're wrong, please, Like
- 8:35Speaker 3: if I say something here and you're like, no, you're
- 8:37Speaker 3: actually so far off for sure.
- 8:39Speaker 5: Yeah, I feel like I definitely do that. As it
- 8:41Speaker 5: is with my dad.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Good good, I'm comfortable with that. I am. I am married.
- 8:46Speaker 2: So's there.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Your dad is an interesting I think he's been compelling
- 9:02Speaker 3: to me for multiple reasons. One, he is a personality.
- 9:07Speaker 3: The other side of it is it feels like out
- 9:09Speaker 3: of a lot of the guys, and he's not the
- 9:11Speaker 3: only one, but it feels I mean, he's definitely one
- 9:13Speaker 3: of a few that came in with just a lot
- 9:19Speaker 3: of joy I mean, there wasn't this like, you know, hey,
- 9:23Speaker 3: I'm going to wait to tell you this story moment
- 9:25Speaker 3: where it's like this has been a pivotal point in
- 9:26Speaker 3: my life and I'm still trying to get over it
- 9:28Speaker 3: kind of thing. It's like he didn't have that story. Yeah,
- 9:31Speaker 3: And so it was always a I'm here for a
- 9:34Speaker 3: different reason. So I wanted to say that and see
- 9:37Speaker 3: if you agreed or disagreed. And then the question of
- 9:39Speaker 3: that is, what reason did he even go on this
- 9:42Speaker 3: show for outside of the obvious of potentially finding love
- 9:45Speaker 3: one day?
- 9:46Speaker 2: Like what, what do you think is real?
- 9:48Speaker 3: Like, because Ashley and I've been on the show, one
- 9:50Speaker 3: person gets picked, you know, it's not the only reason
- 9:53Speaker 3: you go on the show, So what was it?
- 9:55Speaker 5: Okay?
- 9:55Speaker 6: So for your first question, I actually just talked to
- 9:59Speaker 6: him about this yesterday and I was like, I feel like.
- 10:03Speaker 5: You can kind of see it in the show.
- 10:06Speaker 6: I think that she kind of gravitates towards him because
- 10:09Speaker 6: her dates with him are like lighthearted, do you know
- 10:12Speaker 6: what I mean? Whereas like some of those other dates
- 10:13Speaker 6: are so heavy, and you know, at the age that
- 10:16Speaker 6: all these men are at, you know, some of their wives,
- 10:18Speaker 6: you know, have died, and some of them you know,
- 10:20Speaker 6: like have been through a divorce or two and things
- 10:23Speaker 6: like that. You know, like they've had all these things
- 10:25Speaker 6: and maybe they're not over them. And you can see
- 10:27Speaker 6: that a lot in the show. And I think that
- 10:29Speaker 6: my dad kind of just brings that like lightness out
- 10:35Speaker 6: kind of in her, and I think that it's really
- 10:38Speaker 6: nice to see. Like I've talked to many of my
- 10:40Speaker 6: friends and people who are watching the show and they're like,
- 10:43Speaker 6: they just have fun. So yeah, I definitely have noticed
- 10:46Speaker 6: that as well. And I was just talking to him
- 10:48Speaker 6: about that yesterday as well, because I've been obviously watching it.
- 10:52Speaker 6: And for the second question, so, I don't know if
- 10:57Speaker 6: you guys know what. I signed him up for the
- 10:59Speaker 6: show in januey you know, yeah, so I signed him
- 11:04Speaker 6: up in January. It was actually really funny. We were
- 11:07Speaker 6: in Mexico and I was asking all these questions because
- 11:09Speaker 6: it's a long questionnaire, and I was.
- 11:12Speaker 5: Like, so like who, like what would your ideal date be?
- 11:14Speaker 5: And then I'm like typing on my phone.
- 11:16Speaker 6: He's like what are you doing? Like what I was like,
- 11:18Speaker 6: I'm signing up for a show. He's like, what show?
- 11:20Speaker 5: And then I told him. He's like, you're joking me.
- 11:22Speaker 5: I'm like, nope, we have forty more questions to go.
- 11:24Speaker 5: Let's let's keep moving here.
- 11:28Speaker 6: And so, uh, we were kind of I was showing
- 11:32Speaker 6: him who the women are and kind of like an
- 11:33Speaker 6: inclination of you know who I thought was potentially going
- 11:36Speaker 6: to be the Golden Bacherette, and he actually picked her
- 11:39Speaker 6: like out of everyone too. He's like, I'm just I'm
- 11:42Speaker 6: really attracted her. We kind of like did a little
- 11:44Speaker 6: deep dive on her and he's like, no, he's like that,
- 11:46Speaker 6: like that's her. And so on his first night there
- 11:48Speaker 6: when he said, I'm telling you, like I wouldn't be
- 11:50Speaker 6: here if it wasn't you, it's that's one hundred percent true.
- 11:55Speaker 6: He was actually really excited, like he's been really excited
- 11:58Speaker 6: to you know, get to know her and stuff like that.
- 12:00Speaker 6: So it's been It definitely was her from from the
- 12:04Speaker 6: second he found out.
- 12:05Speaker 5: He was excited.
- 12:07Speaker 6: He went through a lot of the process not knowing
- 12:09Speaker 6: and he was one hundred percent certain about going on
- 12:11Speaker 6: the show when he actually found out that it was Joan.
- 12:14Speaker 4: Gosh, so cute. Well, next week we're seeing hometowns. Were
- 12:19Speaker 4: you there? I was there, Yeah, so give us a
- 12:23Speaker 4: little review.
- 12:26Speaker 6: I don't want to say too much, but I definitely
- 12:31Speaker 6: think that she's lovely and as you guys probably saw
- 12:36Speaker 6: in the previewly curR interaction with my son was absolutely adorable.
- 12:40Speaker 5: My son really liked her, and.
- 12:43Speaker 4: I knew that would have been his grandson because they
- 12:46Speaker 4: didn't really specify, but I was like, that guy has
- 12:49Speaker 4: like a look, he's got his hair done perfectly. That
- 12:53Speaker 4: is not to be Pascal's. It's a grandson. Adorable. Yeah,
- 12:58Speaker 4: he's a good looking kid.
- 12:59Speaker 5: He's a cutie for sure.
- 13:01Speaker 6: I would say that the hometown I think went pretty
- 13:04Speaker 6: well and I'm excited to see kind of episode.
- 13:12Speaker 3: I guess, have you seen your dad date here in
- 13:16Speaker 3: the last few years just in real life?
- 13:21Speaker 6: I wouldn't say, like anything serious. I think that he's
- 13:24Speaker 6: like casually kind of dated. I think that my dad,
- 13:28Speaker 6: I know that he has like deep down, I know
- 13:31Speaker 6: he doesn't really talk about on the show. I know
- 13:32Speaker 6: he does have a little bit of of fear. I
- 13:35Speaker 6: would say, I do think that it doesn't always like
- 13:40Speaker 6: come out as fear, but I feel like there is
- 13:44Speaker 6: a little bit of fear just from you know, his
- 13:47Speaker 6: past relationships. I think that his relationships have been very
- 13:53Speaker 6: like surface level. It's been like a couple of dates
- 13:56Speaker 6: type thing, never really leading anywhere type relationships. Is kind
- 13:59Speaker 6: of what I've seen or heard of. Yeah, it's been
- 14:05Speaker 6: very casual. But I mean the past year and a half,
- 14:09Speaker 6: I have heard him say like I want to find
- 14:12Speaker 6: that person like I just I want to find that
- 14:14Speaker 6: person that wants to adventure him at that point in
- 14:16Speaker 6: my life where like I want a partner that we
- 14:18Speaker 6: can just like go to Paris and go to Italy
- 14:20Speaker 6: and go to Africa and go do all these things.
- 14:22Speaker 6: And he wants to have that person that wants the
- 14:25Speaker 6: same adventure as him.
- 14:26Speaker 5: And yeah, from the sounds of Retizan's life, Jones kind
- 14:31Speaker 5: of making the.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Cat Yeah she's down for that.
- 14:34Speaker 3: It's uh so okay, So is it weird to see
- 14:38Speaker 3: him on TV then taking off his shirt showing uh
- 14:43Speaker 3: an actually insane amount of abs for a man his age.
- 14:48Speaker 5: Yeah, his abs are definitely circulating the internet at the moment.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Yeah, Like is it weird for you, Like, what does
- 14:54Speaker 3: it feel like as a child? Yeah, seeing that, Okay,
- 15:01Speaker 3: I'm not having friends probably tell you, hey, like he
- 15:04Speaker 3: doesn't work out?
- 15:09Speaker 5: Absolutely not.
- 15:13Speaker 6: Yeah, definitely, I was definitely doing a little bit of this.
- 15:17Speaker 6: I feel like he's a very funny guy and I
- 15:22Speaker 6: wouldn't expect any less of him, but I definitely wasn't
- 15:25Speaker 6: expecting to see so much of that.
- 15:30Speaker 4: Speaking of Yeah, he's very.
- 15:32Speaker 5: Confident in who he is and I mean, yeah.
- 15:38Speaker 4: Go dad, Well, we got hometowns coming up, and if
- 15:41Speaker 4: your dad gets through oh hometowns, Yes, we have hometowns
- 15:44Speaker 4: coming up, but if he gets through those, we have
- 15:47Speaker 4: the fantasy suites. How how weird awkward is that conversation?
- 15:53Speaker 4: Did you think this far ahead when you signed him up?
- 15:57Speaker 6: Honestly, No, I know that my dad's such a big personality,
- 16:01Speaker 6: and I knew that it was going to go one
- 16:02Speaker 6: of two ways. I knew that she was either really
- 16:04Speaker 6: gonna like like him or she wasn't gonna like him
- 16:07Speaker 6: at all, and so I wasn't really thinking too far
- 16:11Speaker 6: ahead with what that was going to look like.
- 16:15Speaker 5: Now that we're almost potentially there.
- 16:18Speaker 6: I'm definitely wondering how that's gonna go. Just even watching
- 16:23Speaker 6: my dad like make out with her, I'm like, that's
- 16:24Speaker 6: a lot, that's a lot. But no, I I mean,
- 16:33Speaker 6: we're just gonna have to see him.
- 16:35Speaker 2: It's so good.
- 16:36Speaker 3: I can't you know what I hope for, just after
- 16:39Speaker 3: meeting you and just the way you shine and the
- 16:43Speaker 3: way you're handling this. I hope because this is how
- 16:46Speaker 3: I am as a human. I hope we see them
- 16:49Speaker 3: that morning scene where they're both like cook a coffee
- 16:53Speaker 3: and I just want to. I'm going to watch it
- 16:55Speaker 3: and think, Oh, Natalie's watching this too, and she hates this, and.
- 16:58Speaker 4: I think, you know, all assuming that he makes it
- 17:02Speaker 4: that far, Yeah, the assumption has to be there.
- 17:06Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean I think that now that we're kind
- 17:09Speaker 6: of getting down to the wire, I think people are
- 17:11Speaker 6: really starting to think about who that last person's going to,
- 17:16Speaker 6: because I mean, there's not many guys left, and after Hometowns,
- 17:20Speaker 6: it's really down to the final wire.
- 17:22Speaker 5: So we'll have to see how she goes.
- 17:35Speaker 3: One storyline that I was curious about that didn't that
- 17:38Speaker 3: hasn't got talked about, but I thought it was really
- 17:40Speaker 3: sweet and I do think it was a moment for Mark,
- 17:43Speaker 3: but it was also a moment for your dad. I know. Well, yeah,
- 17:49Speaker 3: like your dad says, he was my best friend. You know,
- 17:51Speaker 3: Mark's obviously gone from the show. No matter what happens
- 17:54Speaker 3: with your dad. Have they kept in contact? You know,
- 17:57Speaker 3: we have friendships that last from this show. We Asha
- 18:00Speaker 3: and I both have that ourselves. Does it feel did
- 18:04Speaker 3: it like what made them connect so much? And have
- 18:06Speaker 3: they talked?
- 18:08Speaker 6: My dad definitely has stayed in contact with some of
- 18:10Speaker 6: the guys, for sure. There was an article that Greg
- 18:14Speaker 6: wrote saying that they're all planned. They're going to plan
- 18:16Speaker 6: like this big trip, like all like the guys, and
- 18:19Speaker 6: they're all excited to hang out outside of the show.
- 18:22Speaker 6: I think with Mark they had a lot of really
- 18:27Speaker 6: in depth conversations. And I think that my dad has
- 18:30Speaker 6: a really tough time being vulnerable, and he actually says
- 18:33Speaker 6: that in the show. And I think that Mark is
- 18:36Speaker 6: just such like a calming presence.
- 18:38Speaker 5: To him that he.
- 18:41Speaker 6: Kind of opened up a lot to Mark, and Mark
- 18:43Speaker 6: definitely opened up a lot to him. And yeah, I
- 18:46Speaker 6: think he was He was very sad to see him.
- 18:48Speaker 4: Go oh, I was so sad and yet so sweet.
- 18:52Speaker 6: I know, I'm going to say, I've never seen my
- 18:54Speaker 6: dad cry in thirty three years. I've never seen him cry.
- 18:58Speaker 6: So to see him cry on the show, I was like, what.
- 19:01Speaker 4: Over Mars elimination?
- 19:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I was like, oh my god, that's so sweet.
- 19:06Speaker 4: That's what makes this show so good is that there
- 19:09Speaker 4: is the relationships between men.
- 19:11Speaker 5: I know.
- 19:12Speaker 4: So, your dad had a conversation with Joan a couple
- 19:13Speaker 4: of weeks ago where she felt like he wasn't pursuing
- 19:16Speaker 4: her enough on a group date. How did you feel
- 19:19Speaker 4: about that?
- 19:20Speaker 6: Yeah, so I mean, I know my dad, and I
- 19:22Speaker 6: know he's not aggressive. He's just not like that. And
- 19:27Speaker 6: I know that, Like we kind of talked about it
- 19:29Speaker 6: before the show. I asked him kind of like what
- 19:31Speaker 6: he was thinking, Like, it's he's gonna like I mean,
- 19:33Speaker 6: he was the first person to grab her, which I
- 19:35Speaker 6: was like, wow, well the first night, but he's like,
- 19:37Speaker 6: I'm just He's like, I'm just not an aggressive personality
- 19:39Speaker 6: like that. He's like, I'm just not going to be
- 19:42Speaker 6: the one kind of trying to take up all of
- 19:45Speaker 6: her attention. And so I think that that's kind of
- 19:50Speaker 6: where he was going with that. He's just like, I
- 19:51Speaker 6: am who I am, and we're going to get time
- 19:53Speaker 6: to talk, but I'm not gonna be like talking the
- 19:57Speaker 6: last episode, he's like, I'm just not gonna hover and
- 20:00Speaker 6: I'm just gonna kind of let her have her time
- 20:02Speaker 6: and then when we get time to get time type thing.
- 20:04Speaker 6: And I know that's kind of been his approach the
- 20:06Speaker 6: whole time. I think now you saw him saying, well,
- 20:10Speaker 6: you didn't even let anyone else talk to her, And
- 20:11Speaker 6: now it's kind of getting real where he's like, okay,
- 20:13Speaker 6: like everyone, we need to all like be on the
- 20:16Speaker 6: same page here. Everyone needs time with her type thing,
- 20:18Speaker 6: like we're getting down to the wire and we need
- 20:21Speaker 6: those moments.
- 20:21Speaker 3: So it's a breath of fresh air, especially with the
- 20:23Speaker 3: background check some of these guys are getting. So yeah,
- 20:27Speaker 3: I'm pretty yeah, I'm pretty stoked to have a guy
- 20:29Speaker 3: be like, hey, you know what, there's an appropriate time
- 20:32Speaker 3: and not. And I've enjoyed seeing that evolution in him,
- 20:36Speaker 3: honestly with when it comes to saying no, you know what,
- 20:39Speaker 3: I'm actually feeling something for Joan now, I'd like to
- 20:41Speaker 3: stand up and like get time with her. Yeah, so
- 20:45Speaker 3: this is kind of where this closes for me, and
- 20:47Speaker 3: it take as much time as you need. Obviously, you
- 20:50Speaker 3: sign him up for the show. We know that now.
- 20:52Speaker 3: So you believe in your dad and you love your
- 20:55Speaker 3: dad and you want to see him happy.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Yes, But if.
- 20:57Speaker 3: Joan was sitting this, because she does listen to the
- 21:00Speaker 3: most famous podcast she does, and she'll definitely be listening
- 21:04Speaker 3: to this.
- 21:04Speaker 2: One, I know that.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Yeah, if you were to sit down with Joan before
- 21:11Speaker 3: this whole thing start and say this is who my
- 21:14Speaker 3: dad is and this is why I want to see
- 21:17Speaker 3: him happy, what would you have said?
- 21:19Speaker 6: I probably would have said that my dad has honestly
- 21:23Speaker 6: one of the biggest hearts out there, and he genuinely
- 21:26Speaker 6: does like he is the most giving, caring person that
- 21:30Speaker 6: you will ever meet. He does sometimes have walls up,
- 21:34Speaker 6: and you know, I mean rightfully, so I know I'm
- 21:37Speaker 6: kind of the same way. It does take him a
- 21:41Speaker 6: little bit to kind of get there. And if she's
- 21:46Speaker 6: patient with him and really just you know, gives him
- 21:49Speaker 6: that time to like get to know her, that I
- 21:51Speaker 6: think that they could have like such an incredible relationship.
- 21:53Speaker 6: And just the fact that you know, she wants adventured
- 21:56Speaker 6: and she seems to want all the things that he wants.
- 21:59Speaker 6: I think that, you know, they could actually have a
- 22:04Speaker 6: really amazing life together and to give him the chance
- 22:07Speaker 6: for sure.
- 22:08Speaker 4: My last question for you is your dad has such
- 22:11Speaker 4: a rags to riches story. He talked about how you know,
- 22:15Speaker 4: his father said you can get a pair of new
- 22:18Speaker 4: shoes once you've earned the money to buy it. And
- 22:22Speaker 4: he moved to America. He obviously did very well for himself. Yeah,
- 22:27Speaker 4: is your grandpa still around and how did they feel
- 22:29Speaker 4: about No about.
- 22:31Speaker 6: Your grandpa did pass away. My Grandma's still alive. I
- 22:38Speaker 6: actually haven't asked him if he told her about any
- 22:41Speaker 6: of this. But my next question, like his grandma watching
- 22:46Speaker 6: this because like hopefully you'll have a heart of that. Yeah,
- 22:50Speaker 6: so she's still alive. Actually went and visited her and
- 22:53Speaker 6: some of my family in Paris a couple of years
- 22:55Speaker 6: ago as my sister. But no, my grandpa is not
- 22:59Speaker 6: alive anymore. I think that you know my dad's story still,
- 23:06Speaker 6: it kind of makes me tear up to this day
- 23:08Speaker 6: a little bit. I think that he definitely has come
- 23:13Speaker 6: a long way and he's definitely made something of him
- 23:16Speaker 6: and he hasn't he hasn't he hasn't come from like
- 23:25Speaker 6: he's come from nothing basically, and just kind of seeing
- 23:29Speaker 6: where he is today is like a huge inspiration to
- 23:32Speaker 6: me and hopefully to a lot of people.
- 23:33Speaker 3: Natalie closed us out here. Obviously, we've talked about your
- 23:38Speaker 3: dad a lot. We've talked about how great he is,
- 23:40Speaker 3: how great he was to you, is to you, all
- 23:42Speaker 3: those things. A little bit about Joan, just to close
- 23:45Speaker 3: us out here, as you've watched Joan on this journey
- 23:50Speaker 3: through her kind of struggles moving on from the past,
- 23:54Speaker 3: but also excitement towards the future, her curiosity towards your dad,
- 23:59Speaker 3: do you still believe they could be a great match.
- 24:03Speaker 3: You just said it earlier, but about Joan specifically, do
- 24:06Speaker 3: you think she would make a great match for your dad.
- 24:09Speaker 6: I do, and obviously after meeting her, I feel strongly
- 24:14Speaker 6: about that. I feel like she definitely has a young spirit,
- 24:21Speaker 6: and I think that that's kind of what my dad's
- 24:24Speaker 6: looking for.
- 24:25Speaker 5: I think she presents herself well. She's a very classy lady,
- 24:28Speaker 5: which my dad said.
- 24:30Speaker 6: I think she, you know, is family oriented, she has grandkids,
- 24:36Speaker 6: and I feel like she's looking for adventure and someone
- 24:40Speaker 6: who's just gonna not make her forget her husband necessarily,
- 24:45Speaker 6: but just like make her how do I word that,
- 24:51Speaker 6: I feel like, just make her kind of bring like
- 24:54Speaker 6: that happiness back out and make her feel.
- 24:58Speaker 5: Like it's possible to fall in love again.
- 25:00Speaker 6: And I do think that their relationships just not very
- 25:04Speaker 6: not very heavy, and it's lighthearted, and I think that's
- 25:06Speaker 6: maybe what's she's looking for as someone just to kind
- 25:09Speaker 6: of have fun with and enjoy the rest of her
- 25:12Speaker 6: life with. So I think that they are a good fit,
- 25:14Speaker 6: and I think Joan is a good fit for my dad.
- 25:16Speaker 6: So we'll have to see what happens.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Your dad is definitely somebody you can have a good
- 25:22Speaker 3: time with.
- 25:23Speaker 6: That's obvious anytime, any place, with anyone's He's just a
- 25:27Speaker 6: good time guy, for sure.
- 25:29Speaker 4: Will tell him to come on theban and Ashley, I
- 25:32Speaker 4: almost heard the podcast before any other.
- 25:35Speaker 5: I will for sure.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Absolutely, let's get that written down.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Natalie, You've been great. Thank you so much for coming
- 25:41Speaker 3: on and talking about your dad and giving us more
- 25:43Speaker 3: of a perspective about who he is. I learned a
- 25:45Speaker 3: lot just from you, and it like it uncovered a
- 25:49Speaker 3: little bit of the pieces that we don't get to
- 25:50Speaker 3: see from the show. Thanks for signing him up. Thanks
- 25:53Speaker 3: for sharing them with all of us. I hope he
- 25:54Speaker 3: has his shirt off multiple more times as the season
- 25:57Speaker 3: progress progresses. Enjoy the ride, and we cannot wait to
- 26:03Speaker 3: talk to you again. And hopefully it is maybe you
- 26:05Speaker 3: and your dad and Joan. That would be a really cool.
- 26:07Speaker 5: Podcast, Yes, yes, it would.
- 26:10Speaker 4: And I can't wait to see the interaction between him
- 26:12Speaker 4: and your group and your son.
- 26:14Speaker 6: Yes, yeah, all of us together, it'll be It'll be
- 26:17Speaker 6: a good episode next week for sure.
- 26:19Speaker 4: All right.
- 26:19Speaker 5: So yeah, yeah, thank you guys so much. It was
- 26:21Speaker 5: nice to meet you guys.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Okay, bye, that's been Natalie Pascal's daughter who signed him
- 26:28Speaker 3: up for the show an almost famous podcast. That was
- 26:31Speaker 3: a fun interview, I think Ashley, because we got such
- 26:33Speaker 3: a perspective on Pascal. I'm rooting for him right now
- 26:36Speaker 3: like he already was. But I really want to see
- 26:40Speaker 3: them together.
- 26:41Speaker 4: You know, I kind of feel you, especially because I
- 26:46Speaker 4: think Chock was a little bit aggressed. I don't know
- 26:50Speaker 4: how I felt about Shock after this last episode. So
- 26:52Speaker 4: now I'm like Jim Pascal.
- 26:54Speaker 3: Well, and that's what this whole show's about, right, it's
- 26:56Speaker 3: now kind of figuring out that what we kind of
- 27:00Speaker 3: want for Joan and these relationships. But I think she
- 27:04Speaker 3: made a good point in this next chapel. Yeah, in
- 27:08Speaker 3: this next chapter of your life, you know what you've
- 27:11Speaker 3: gone through, the heavy, You've done so much stuff. All
- 27:14Speaker 3: you want is somebody willing to travel to see grandkids,
- 27:17Speaker 3: somebody wanted willing to travel to make memories. Somebody's gonna
- 27:20Speaker 3: have fun with you and take you out to dinner
- 27:21Speaker 3: and have a great dinner together. It sounds like he
- 27:24Speaker 3: could be that, and I now am full on team Pascal.
- 27:28Speaker 4: I know it makes a lot of sense.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Hey, so we'll be breaking down the next week's episode
- 27:33Speaker 3: after hometowns. Obviously, Natalie will be on that episode, So
- 27:37Speaker 3: until next time, I've Been Ben.
- 27:39Speaker 4: I've Been Ansley.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Follow the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast on
