- 4:43Speaker 1: Thank you guys for being with us tonight. I've told
- 4:47Speaker 1: them a little bit about you, guys, but tell us

- 5:03Speaker 1: Oh what's your favorite?
- 5:07Speaker 4: Oh? My new favorite is do buy chocolate?
- 5:11Speaker 5: Oh that's so good.
- 5:13Speaker 3: I have not had it looks like wheat.
- 5:17Speaker 1: It's good.
- 5:18Speaker 5: It is so good. It is so good.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Oh my god, I see people eating us like y'all
- 5:24Speaker 1: that looks like, hey, weet, what is this?
- 5:28Speaker 4: You're gonna try?
- 5:29Speaker 5: My daughter, my daughter in law got me to try.
- 5:32Speaker 5: It's so good. So mm hmm okay, so.
- 5:36Speaker 1: We got a chocolatelic at the bottom.
- 5:38Speaker 3: In the sport. Something about you.
- 5:42Speaker 6: I'm an avid gardener. So a lot of people don't
- 5:45Speaker 6: know I'm a gardener. First, Well, actually I have a farm,
- 5:48Speaker 6: so I have goats, I have chickens, dogs.
- 5:53Speaker 5: Like like I'm gonna I have a farm. A lot
- 5:57Speaker 5: of people don't know that. It's a lot, lot of work.
- 6:01Speaker 5: A lot of people don't know that.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Acts like, oh my god, I'm a city girl because
- 6:10Speaker 1: you know me, I see a cop coming.
- 6:11Speaker 3: I'm the opposite the break.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I mean, really as mean as people say they are goats, like, no,
- 6:20Speaker 1: they're not.
- 6:20Speaker 5: They're really playful.
- 6:23Speaker 6: I guess you know, I think I was blessed. I
- 6:26Speaker 6: have some great goats. Like, Okay, so my boy goat
- 6:30Speaker 6: he's a little you know, but he's he's so sweet.
- 6:35Speaker 6: You know, you give him a little biscuit.
- 6:37Speaker 5: He's sweet.
- 6:38Speaker 6: He will he will have but you though he will. Yeah,
- 6:43Speaker 6: but it's not it's not bad.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Okay, all right, I'm sure she said it's not bad.
- 6:56Speaker 3: All right. The hit is tea maker.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Tell us about is working for a man on the covers.
- 7:13Speaker 3: Y'all laughing at me. But I like him.
- 7:18Speaker 4: Good.
- 7:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:21Speaker 6: Hitter Hitter is a gooon, Like I like to put
- 7:26Speaker 6: a warning label on Hitter.
- 7:29Speaker 5: Hitter is a goon.
- 7:31Speaker 6: He's like, out of all my male characters, he's the
- 7:34Speaker 6: most I mean, I think I got one other that
- 7:38Speaker 6: can compete with him, But he's the most he's a
- 7:41Speaker 6: goon like he will snatch, he don't, he don't repeat hisself,
- 7:48Speaker 6: say what he what he thinks, he don't bite his tongue.
- 7:53Speaker 6: You know, he is a goom period. I don't know
- 7:58Speaker 6: how else to describe it. And the only person, the
- 8:02Speaker 6: only person he's sweet to, the only person he's nice to,
- 8:05Speaker 6: the only person that see the other side of him,
- 8:07Speaker 6: is Angel.
- 8:08Speaker 5: It's his I mean, yeah, it's his. It's his lady.
- 8:14Speaker 3: So so why make them so hard? You know, I'm
- 8:20Speaker 3: not complaining.
- 8:24Speaker 6: I don't know what happened with that one. So like, so, okay,
- 8:29Speaker 6: these characters. I have so many characters in my head
- 8:34Speaker 6: talking to me. Now today they call it a writer.
- 8:38Speaker 6: Before they called it like schizophrenic or something. But anyway,
- 8:43Speaker 6: so they're in my head and hid it was just okay,
- 8:47Speaker 6: you know what?
- 8:48Speaker 5: So okay.
- 8:51Speaker 6: Biblically, so we all know Bible stories, correct, correct. So
- 8:55Speaker 6: let's take Moses for example.
- 8:57Speaker 5: We all know the story of Moses. Moses. Moses was this.
- 9:02Speaker 6: Warrior, but he was really humble, but really vicious, like
- 9:08Speaker 6: like when you hear the stories of Moses, Moses was
- 9:11Speaker 6: a warrior. Moses was vicious, and he had this speech impediment,
- 9:15Speaker 6: and so when he talked, people kind of looked at
- 9:18Speaker 6: him as like you know, you know, And so Moses
- 9:22Speaker 6: actually was the the uh essence of Hitter for me,
- 9:30Speaker 6: because when I read Moses, I read about this warrior
- 9:33Speaker 6: who slayed you know, it was Moses that killed by
- 9:36Speaker 6: Lamb and Baalamb was like this big time sorcerer that
- 9:41Speaker 6: everybody was like, you know, using or.
- 9:43Speaker 5: Whatever, but it was Moses who took him out, you know.
- 9:45Speaker 6: And so Moses was this you know, he was vicious,
- 9:50Speaker 6: you know, but he was humble. And so the same
- 9:52Speaker 6: thing with hit Her, like hit Her don't mind that
- 9:54Speaker 6: people look at him a certain way because of the
- 9:57Speaker 6: way he talked or how he carried hisself. People look
- 9:59Speaker 6: at him him as if he's unintelligent, but he has
- 10:01Speaker 6: a very high IQ and different things like that. But
- 10:05Speaker 6: he don't mind because he's he's actually very humble, even
- 10:09Speaker 6: though he's still a good and he still will he
- 10:14Speaker 6: don't speak well, you know, he has a very rough,
- 10:20Speaker 6: rough appearance, you know. But I mean, Angel loved him.
- 10:25Speaker 6: Somebody for everybody, you.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Don't the only one. I'm sorry, I don't see.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Sorry Angel, Now we're gonna go to you miss ma'am,
- 10:41Speaker 1: Someone to Watch Over Me. Your cover is beautiful. It
- 10:49Speaker 1: speaks for itself. It's just it's one. Both of your
- 10:56Speaker 1: novels are like night and Day.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Why I say that is because it's like.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Two different genres, but they speak so much through the covers,
- 11:12Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And your your book brings
- 11:17Speaker 1: out the softer side in me. Oh he's so sweet
- 11:23Speaker 1: and yeah the other book, ye, So tell us a
- 11:29Speaker 1: little bit about your Someone to Watch Over Me.
- 11:33Speaker 4: So Someone to Watch Over Me?
- 11:34Speaker 7: First of all, as Edwina was talking about her book,
- 11:37Speaker 7: I was thinking, well, my book has a.
- 11:39Speaker 4: Goon in it too.
- 11:41Speaker 5: You got.
- 11:45Speaker 7: Imperial Is he's a goon, but he just wears fancy
- 11:49Speaker 7: clothes and has an Ivy League education, but he's he's.
- 11:54Speaker 4: About that action. So there's a goon.
- 11:57Speaker 3: In there too.
- 11:58Speaker 4: And I was like wow.
- 12:00Speaker 7: So anyway, Someone to Watch Over Me is something of
- 12:04Speaker 7: a coming.
- 12:04Speaker 4: Of age story, but I don't.
- 12:07Speaker 7: Want it to be relegated to that coming of age
- 12:11Speaker 7: genre because we'll see these characters.
- 12:15Speaker 4: Grow up and become full blown adults.
- 12:19Speaker 7: That's why I don't aagorize my That's why I'll categorize
- 12:23Speaker 7: Someone to Watch Over me that way. But the first
- 12:27Speaker 7: two books are definitely coming of age stories. You have
- 12:31Speaker 7: to start somewhere with the characters, and so I believe
- 12:35Speaker 7: in giving their origin story as much as I can,
- 12:38Speaker 7: which is what I've done. And Someone to Watch Over
- 12:40Speaker 7: Me Part one and two. But Part one and two
- 12:44Speaker 7: are a part of about a ten book series, so
- 12:48Speaker 7: there are eight more books to come.
- 12:51Speaker 4: But my main character, Sarah.
- 12:53Speaker 7: Is she's a very sweet young lady, but she's also
- 13:00Speaker 7: very afraid because she is growing up in the foster
- 13:03Speaker 7: care system and she doesn't want to get lost in
- 13:07Speaker 7: the system. As a result, you see her doing whatever
- 13:11Speaker 7: she needs to do and saying whatever she needs to
- 13:14Speaker 7: say to stay on the safe side and to keep
- 13:17Speaker 7: moving in the direction that she wants her life to go.
- 13:20Speaker 4: So we introduced Imperial, and he.
- 13:23Speaker 7: Becomes so many different things to her. He becomes everything
- 13:28Speaker 7: she needs but also everything she does not need.
- 13:31Speaker 4: So I don't want to give away spoilers.
- 13:34Speaker 3: But.
- 13:42Speaker 1: So he's what she needs what she do need. That
- 13:47Speaker 1: sounds like a power episode. That's Angela and and what's
- 13:52Speaker 1: his name?
- 13:54Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 13:55Speaker 7: That sounds like yeah a little bit.
- 14:02Speaker 1: So what made you guys want to write your books?
- 14:06Speaker 1: Anybody can go first, what what was your inspiration.
- 14:09Speaker 3: For your books?
- 14:12Speaker 5: For me?
- 14:14Speaker 6: So, Hitta appeared in Falling for Rome, and so in
- 14:21Speaker 6: Falling for Rome, Hitter was one of Rome's best friends,
- 14:25Speaker 6: and he was kind of like, you know this, this this,
- 14:29Speaker 6: I don't know, some people kind of looked at him
- 14:30Speaker 6: as kind of like this dark character because he he
- 14:34Speaker 6: didn't speak much, and you know, he kind of just
- 14:38Speaker 6: he always seemed kind of angry or whatever may have you,
- 14:42Speaker 6: and I don't know, like he was the underdog and
- 14:46Speaker 6: so like I feel like, you know, I'm always rooting
- 14:49Speaker 6: for the underdogs. I wanted his story like to be
- 14:52Speaker 6: told because I mean when you meet him and Falling
- 14:54Speaker 6: for Rome, all you see is like, you know, they're
- 14:57Speaker 6: kind of like, you know, picking on him because he
- 15:00Speaker 6: obsessed with a teammaker, you know what I'm saying, and
- 15:03Speaker 6: so they like, you know, are you still stalking that girl?
- 15:05Speaker 5: You know you probably you know here. It's really so he.
- 15:08Speaker 6: Was a he was a an ex boxer, a professional boxer,
- 15:12Speaker 6: like he had you know, belts and everything, and so
- 15:15Speaker 6: he's real big and so now he runs this gym,
- 15:18Speaker 6: so he works out and stuff. He's kind of like
- 15:21Speaker 6: he's kind of like almost like monstrous, you know what
- 15:24Speaker 6: I'm saying. And so they like, are you still stalking
- 15:26Speaker 6: that girl and scaring her? You know what I'm saying.
- 15:31Speaker 6: And so when you first meet him from He's he
- 15:34Speaker 6: appears to be a stalker. I mean, yeah he did stop,
- 15:39Speaker 6: he stopped, you know what I'm saying. But uh, it
- 15:43Speaker 6: was really sweet, you know what I'm saying. It was
- 15:45Speaker 6: really sweet.
- 15:46Speaker 5: Why you know?
- 15:47Speaker 3: Okay, so I'm getting from your book.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I'm feeling like a Creed the first movie. Yes, the
- 16:00Speaker 1: Hide that I'm getting. And he did, Yeah, he did
- 16:03Speaker 1: stalk her.
- 16:04Speaker 5: He did. He was a villain.
- 16:07Speaker 6: Yeah, he was the villain in Fall of Her Home.
- 16:09Speaker 6: And I just you know, sometime you want to tell
- 16:11Speaker 6: a villain story.
- 16:12Speaker 5: So he was. He was a villain.
- 16:15Speaker 3: There is nothing wrong with telling the bad boys stories.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Sometimes they need a little light too, They need a
- 16:21Speaker 3: little light.
- 16:22Speaker 5: That's it.
- 16:23Speaker 3: I agree, And certainly Neede you write yours.
- 16:27Speaker 4: Okay.
- 16:28Speaker 7: So I had a theme in mind. There's this thing
- 16:31Speaker 7: that I really wanted to bring draw people's attention to.
- 16:35Speaker 7: I won't say what it is because it sort of
- 16:37Speaker 7: spoils it's a spoiler. But I had more of like
- 16:42Speaker 7: a moral to my story and a theme something that
- 16:48Speaker 7: I really wanted people to pay attention to, and that
- 16:51Speaker 7: was why I wrote it. Plus, I've always had a
- 16:55Speaker 7: heart for people in foster care, especially those who actually
- 17:00Speaker 7: grow up in age out of the system.
- 17:02Speaker 3: It just always.
- 17:03Speaker 7: Touches my heart to see that, and so I wanted
- 17:06Speaker 7: people's attention to be drawn to that as well.
- 17:09Speaker 1: I like that because I to have a reader read
- 17:15Speaker 1: the book and find that hidden message in it.
- 17:19Speaker 5: I do like that. I do like.
- 17:21Speaker 1: That, But I I'm one of those money got to
- 17:25Speaker 1: tell me what the hidden messages because I get all
- 17:27Speaker 1: wrapped up in the characters' lives and sit up there
- 17:30Speaker 1: talk to the character.
- 17:31Speaker 4: Girl.
- 17:31Speaker 3: I know you won't let them do. Yeah, I have
- 17:34Speaker 3: a tenden. I'll set up here and talk to the
- 17:37Speaker 3: whole book like ain't nothing to it.
- 17:39Speaker 1: I don't know why, but I remember off stage we
- 17:43Speaker 1: were talking about characters talking to you. What do you
- 17:47Speaker 1: guys do when all these characters are coming and they talking?
- 17:52Speaker 3: How do you handle everyone? Like Lord fans.
- 18:00Speaker 6: I have had fans that is through with me because
- 18:05Speaker 6: of this, just through with me, like it's like Patreon.
- 18:11Speaker 6: Through Patreon, I've been able to kind of give voice
- 18:16Speaker 6: to all these characters because through Patreon, when they when
- 18:20Speaker 6: they're the ones speaking to me at the time, I
- 18:23Speaker 6: can just write what you know, what's happening and what
- 18:26Speaker 6: I'm seeing and just posted on Patreon, and the energy
- 18:30Speaker 6: that I get back from my Patreons like helps fuel
- 18:35Speaker 6: fuel how you know what I'm saying, Like you know,
- 18:39Speaker 6: if I'll continue, you know what I'm saying, It's like
- 18:41Speaker 6: they help fuel me, you know what I'm saying. But
- 18:43Speaker 6: the characters talking to you can be bad and good.
- 18:47Speaker 6: I mean good because you know, when you're working on
- 18:51Speaker 6: their story, you know perfect, you know, but what they
- 18:54Speaker 6: want to do is they want to go quiet when
- 18:56Speaker 6: you're working on their story.
- 18:58Speaker 5: And then another character.
- 18:59Speaker 6: Be like, well, you know, you know it all started
- 19:03Speaker 6: at the cornerston and you're like, oh, you know so,
- 19:13Speaker 6: and now everything you're doing in your hand like you're
- 19:15Speaker 6: cooking dinner, and they was like, so, you know I've
- 19:17Speaker 6: seen it stand at the corner stove. Come on, you
- 19:19Speaker 6: can't keep ignoring me, you know what I'm saying. And
- 19:21Speaker 6: you're like, fine, fine, you sit down at your computer.
- 19:24Speaker 6: It's like it all begin at the cornerstone, you know.
- 19:31Speaker 3: So is it the same for you. They just start.
- 19:37Speaker 7: You know what, That is definitely true for me. But
- 19:40Speaker 7: I also find that I don't know. I will hear
- 19:44Speaker 7: a song and the song will produce an entire scene
- 19:50Speaker 7: in my head and I won't be able to do
- 19:53Speaker 7: anything else until I get it out and down.
- 19:55Speaker 4: And so yeah, my characters definitely do talk to me.
- 19:59Speaker 7: But and I also see their stories play out like
- 20:02Speaker 7: in my mind, almost like a movie.
- 20:05Speaker 4: It's weird.
- 20:07Speaker 3: So remember those two things you said, music and movie.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Y'all gonna need that in about ten minutes. Just remember
- 20:14Speaker 3: that I have this crazy question that just popping my head.
- 20:21Speaker 5: So all these.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Characters that talk to you, and they're trying to take over,
- 20:26Speaker 1: where's the craziest place or the craziest time? You had
- 20:30Speaker 1: to stop what you're doing and right because they just
- 20:33Speaker 1: wouldn't stop.
- 20:35Speaker 5: Mmmmmmm. Oh my goodness.
- 20:41Speaker 6: It's been some Like I've been in the middle of
- 20:44Speaker 6: shopping like at Walmart. I've been in the middle of
- 20:47Speaker 6: like dropping like I remember one like when I was
- 20:50Speaker 6: working on butter Baby, and while I was working on
- 20:54Speaker 6: butter Baby, the character Solomon came to me Schlomo and
- 20:59Speaker 6: I was put my daughter off and it's somewhere like
- 21:03Speaker 6: I want to say, like some kind of like program
- 21:07Speaker 6: like taekwondo or something like that. And I'm like, I'm
- 21:11Speaker 6: I'm pulling stuff out the car and I was like, hey,
- 21:13Speaker 6: you gotta hurry up, y'all run up, you know, And
- 21:15Speaker 6: it hit me and I'm like, oh my, oh, yes,
- 21:18Speaker 6: that's wonderful. And so like I'm I have her like
- 21:22Speaker 6: her her her U uniform and everything, and I'm helping
- 21:26Speaker 6: her get drugs. But I'm trying to write down before
- 21:28Speaker 6: I forget, and I'm like and I'm talking to the teacher.
- 21:30Speaker 6: I'm like, yeah, yeah, she So I was supposed to
- 21:32Speaker 6: bring oh cupcase, that's what I forgot.
- 21:34Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, next time I got it. You know. Yeah,
- 21:39Speaker 5: it happens.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, it had that happened to you?
- 21:45Speaker 4: Oh yeah.
- 21:46Speaker 7: Actually, just I've been on a road trip. I'm in
- 21:48Speaker 7: the middle of a road trip now. So I was driving.
- 21:51Speaker 7: I drove about six hours today and I was just
- 21:55Speaker 7: in the zone, just plotting the scene that I couldn't
- 21:59Speaker 7: wait to get here right down. But in the meantime,
- 22:02Speaker 7: since I was driving, I just pulled my phone out
- 22:04Speaker 7: and started recording my notes.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Oh technology writing, Okay, Okay, So I did say ten minutes, right,
- 22:17Speaker 1: but I'm a shorten back because I got some good questions, so.
- 22:22Speaker 3: I forgot to tell y'all, no I didn't that at
- 22:28Speaker 3: the end of the show we do fun questions.
- 22:31Speaker 1: I love music and I love television, so let's have
- 22:37Speaker 1: a little fun.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Okay, So both of you guys can answer the question.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Someone said that a song can be something that gives
- 22:50Speaker 1: them that launching.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Point for both of your books. If you could.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Choose one theme song, does it depend? It doesn't matter
- 23:00Speaker 1: what genre it is. What would be your theme song?
- 23:06Speaker 1: Who would be singing it?
- 23:07Speaker 3: And why? Who as would be singing it?
- 23:11Speaker 5: As in?
- 23:11Speaker 3: Which character? And why?
- 23:16Speaker 7: Uh?
- 23:16Speaker 5: For me to have to be Benny Siegel?
- 23:20Speaker 3: Uh mm hmmm?
- 23:23Speaker 5: What is that song?
- 23:26Speaker 6: It's a Benny Segel song because like all my male characters,
- 23:29Speaker 6: like Hitter is the most vicious all my male characters
- 23:34Speaker 6: goons like you know what I'm saying. He ain't even
- 23:36Speaker 6: the most he ain't even the strongest or the most deadly.
- 23:39Speaker 6: Is he just the most like crass?
- 23:42Speaker 5: You know? But it have to be that Benny single song?
- 23:46Speaker 7: Uh?
- 23:47Speaker 5: Is it the gouch? What is the name of that song?
- 23:50Speaker 1: Mm hmm?
- 23:52Speaker 3: I'm thinking, y'all.
- 23:55Speaker 6: Y'all know, y'all, y'all know I've used it in several
- 23:58Speaker 6: of my videos.
- 23:59Speaker 5: Y'all help me, y'all. Can't me help me out? What's
- 24:00Speaker 5: the name of that song?
- 24:02Speaker 6: Ah?
- 24:03Speaker 1: Oh oh?
- 24:08Speaker 4: I can hear it in my head, but I have
- 24:09Speaker 4: no idea.
- 24:12Speaker 6: This is the melodie, y'all know, y'all, y'all gonna know.
- 24:18Speaker 6: Everybody's listening, gonna know what I'm talking about. That's the
- 24:21Speaker 6: same song. Now look at me down going off the
- 24:27Speaker 6: screen to look at you know.
- 24:33Speaker 4: While she's looking it up. I don't know. I think
- 24:35Speaker 4: mine would be Is it called do What?
- 24:39Speaker 3: By Laura Neil?
- 24:40Speaker 7: Oh? Yes, okay, Soriah would be singing that my main.
- 24:50Speaker 1: Character, Okay, okay, yep, okay, So why she's still looking
- 24:57Speaker 1: for hers?
- 24:58Speaker 3: I'm gonna ask you this.
- 25:00Speaker 2: M hm.
- 25:02Speaker 1: They just call and say, if we are going to
- 25:04Speaker 1: make your book into a movie, we are going to
- 25:09Speaker 1: give you the opportunity.
- 25:10Speaker 3: To cast your mean characters male and female. Who would
- 25:16Speaker 3: it be and why did you choose these two people?
- 25:20Speaker 2: Oh?
- 25:22Speaker 4: Okay, so I already know who my who Soria is.
- 25:26Speaker 4: She would be played by what's the young lady's name.
- 25:29Speaker 4: Is it sky Skott Jackson?
- 25:31Speaker 3: Is that her name?
- 25:33Speaker 4: We're both looking. She was a little Disney character, Star Jackson.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Is it Star.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Hold on one second, it's sky s k a I Jackson.
- 25:48Speaker 4: Oh yeah she would.
- 25:54Speaker 3: What is she just in being?
- 25:57Speaker 4: I think so she might have been.
- 26:01Speaker 3: I think she just played it. Yeah, she just played
- 26:03Speaker 3: a girl and be a math.
- 26:04Speaker 5: She's supposed to be.
- 26:05Speaker 3: She's supposed to be pregnant for me to next next
- 26:08Speaker 3: go around. Yeah, I love being math. Sorry y'all. She
- 26:13Speaker 3: was in the last episode too, but yeah, okay.
- 26:16Speaker 7: Okay, be Soriah And I hate to be cliche, but
- 26:22Speaker 7: I really think Imperial would be played by Aaron Pierre.
- 26:26Speaker 4: That's stuff up.
- 26:36Speaker 5: War mom, I love.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Okay, Okay, tianasailor girl, you hit that South Carolina accident?
- 26:56Speaker 5: Come to walk. I am a geechee girl.
- 27:04Speaker 1: I try not to bring it out.
- 27:09Speaker 5: No, let it come out.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Let somebody make me mad that closing that office.
- 27:16Speaker 3: It's girl who she thinks she'd be talking to.
- 27:19Speaker 5: Ain't nobody got time to be ghettle.
- 27:27Speaker 1: So now how about your book? They called and they said, hey,
- 27:31Speaker 1: we're gonna let you cast the main characters male and female,
- 27:35Speaker 1: who would they be?
- 27:36Speaker 3: And why?
- 27:38Speaker 6: Okay, now I'm speaking with my South Carolina next I'm not.
- 27:44Speaker 5: Actually, let me tell you something.
- 27:45Speaker 6: I'm writing a book about uh, South Carolina characters and
- 27:48Speaker 6: they geechee, you know, And so I I mean, I've
- 27:52Speaker 6: been deep in the trenches nobody were talking about. I mean,
- 27:58Speaker 6: like research reach. Okay, So the song is Bennie Siegel
- 28:03Speaker 6: the Truth, right, all my male characters whenever they introduce
- 28:09Speaker 6: for the first time, do matter which book? Don't matter
- 28:12Speaker 6: which book. When my male characters are introduced for the
- 28:15Speaker 6: first time, Beanie siegell the Truth playing period, Like, go
- 28:18Speaker 6: listen to the song and just know every male you
- 28:22Speaker 6: could listen. You can play that song when each of
- 28:25Speaker 6: my male characters are introduced, do matter which book?
- 28:28Speaker 5: If it's okay?
- 28:31Speaker 6: And as far as characters, if I had to pick,
- 28:36Speaker 6: there's a fighter named Deonte Wilder. Okay, now it's he's
- 28:48Speaker 6: not everybody's cup of tea. Okay, he not everybody.
- 28:52Speaker 1: He not.
- 28:53Speaker 6: People be like, oh not my head, my head is.
- 28:57Speaker 6: But you know, if you really read the story, Hitter
- 29:00Speaker 6: is handsome to Angel because that's who, that's who the
- 29:04Speaker 6: most high.
- 29:04Speaker 5: Creative for him.
- 29:06Speaker 6: But it would be Deontay Wilder, right, and my cousin Angel.
- 29:14Speaker 6: I actually like, I actually took some characteristics from the
- 29:20Speaker 6: character Angel from my cousin Angel, who I'm very proud of.
- 29:24Speaker 5: She a smart, strong, strong.
- 29:28Speaker 6: African American baby. And she listen, she is, she has graduated.
- 29:34Speaker 5: She a nurse.
- 29:35Speaker 6: She going back to school. No, she's a nurse practitioner.
- 29:38Speaker 6: Don't let me take nothing away from her. What you
- 29:41Speaker 6: know what I'm saying. School, she's doing her thing. She
- 29:44Speaker 6: the only little little pobw child I know that went
- 29:48Speaker 6: to Harvard.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Yo, big apps my mind.
- 29:53Speaker 5: I don't know you, but you go girl, you know
- 29:56Speaker 5: what I'm saying.
- 29:57Speaker 6: So that's actually that's who I actually wrote that character after.
- 30:07Speaker 1: So that is awesome. Oh and I'm looking at this
- 30:15Speaker 1: down till Wilder.
- 30:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:18Speaker 5: And he.
- 30:21Speaker 6: What made me, what made me like choose him is
- 30:24Speaker 6: because like his style of fighting. Although he not the
- 30:26Speaker 6: champion no more, his style of fighting is it's like
- 30:30Speaker 6: a real you know people they be talking about them like, oh,
- 30:32Speaker 6: he's so hood you know. He fights like a hood limb,
- 30:36Speaker 6: you know, and he fights like he's street fighting, but he.
- 30:39Speaker 5: Was knocking folks out, you know what I'm.
- 30:41Speaker 6: Saying, he was knocking folks out, you know, but he
- 30:47Speaker 6: do he fight like he in the streets.
- 30:49Speaker 5: That's what I like.
- 30:51Speaker 1: He has that look he has to look like, look,
- 30:54Speaker 1: don't catch me on the alley. But he But those
- 30:56Speaker 1: will be the ones that are like the biggest care bears. Yea, yeah,
- 31:01Speaker 1: they would be the biggest carrec.
- 31:02Speaker 3: Hold on this. You got a cute treace. Back to
- 31:07Speaker 3: the screen. So I haven't finished yet.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Now Lifetime is on the line and they said, we
- 31:22Speaker 1: would like to do a Bible pick up you. We're
- 31:26Speaker 1: gonna let you cast the person to be you. Who
- 31:31Speaker 1: would you give that honor to?
- 31:34Speaker 3: And buy them?
- 31:41Speaker 5: Lauryn Hill? Okay, m Lauryn Hill?
- 31:46Speaker 3: And why miss Hill?
- 31:50Speaker 5: Like okay?
- 31:51Speaker 6: You ever just like I've never been one to like
- 31:54Speaker 6: go google over like you know, superstars anything, but you
- 31:59Speaker 6: ever had one that that when they talk, they like
- 32:03Speaker 6: speaking what's in your mind? You know what I'm saying,
- 32:05Speaker 6: and you just like, yo, you know what I'm saying,
- 32:09Speaker 6: that my you know my thoughts, and like you know
- 32:11Speaker 6: what I'm saying. Lauren Hill like growing up, she was
- 32:13Speaker 6: like she the one that taught me like it was
- 32:17Speaker 6: okay to embrace me, to embrace my natural hair, to
- 32:21Speaker 6: embrace you know, my skin color, to embrace my uniqueness,
- 32:25Speaker 6: you know what I'm saying. And she made me proud
- 32:28Speaker 6: to look like I look. You know what I mean.
- 32:30Speaker 6: And so definitely Miss Hill.
- 32:33Speaker 1: Oh, I love it, love it, okays, ma'am.
- 32:39Speaker 3: Lifetime is waiting. They know what to give this check to.
- 32:44Speaker 4: Who don't give the check to? Mmmm? I don't know
- 32:49Speaker 4: why Gabrielle Union is coming to mind?
- 32:51Speaker 3: Okay, okay? And why are is union?
- 32:57Speaker 4: Probably because she has dimples?
- 33:03Speaker 1: No, I don't know.
- 33:04Speaker 4: Probably would have said Lauren Hill.
- 33:05Speaker 5: But you know, oh dang it, did I beat you? Sorry?
- 33:08Speaker 5: You know what, Lauren could play us both. She talented
- 33:11Speaker 5: like that, she can do that, she can do it.
- 33:16Speaker 3: I love Hill, I know I would she.
- 33:20Speaker 1: I really wish she would come out one more, just
- 33:23Speaker 1: give us one more.
- 33:26Speaker 3: But I think Lauren, like y'all.
- 33:29Speaker 6: You know, she did she did that song when nos
- 33:31Speaker 6: she did do a most recent song with nas It's
- 33:36Speaker 6: his lap and she ripped it.
- 33:38Speaker 5: She ripped it or no, I.
- 33:42Speaker 6: Don't know which one, but she she talked about you know,
- 33:44Speaker 6: people talk about like how she don't be old time
- 33:46Speaker 6: and stuff. She was like, I'm saving souls are you
- 33:47Speaker 6: talking about me being on time? And she just like
- 33:50Speaker 6: ripped it. She ripped it.
- 33:53Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I have to go find that.
- 33:57Speaker 5: Yeah, she ripped it.
- 33:58Speaker 6: I'm like, Oh, that's Lauren letting us know she still
- 34:00Speaker 6: got the skill. There's a reason behind why she doing
- 34:04Speaker 6: the things that she's doing. It's kind of like Dave
- 34:07Speaker 6: Chappelle said, these people, you know, they like to label
- 34:10Speaker 6: these people as crazy as weak. These people ain't weak.
- 34:13Speaker 6: These people made it far up in the game. These
- 34:16Speaker 6: not weak people. These are not crazy people. Maybe the
- 34:20Speaker 6: industry is a little sick.
- 34:23Speaker 7: I always thought she just wasn't willing to do what
- 34:25Speaker 7: they were asking her to do.
- 34:27Speaker 3: That's exactly what I was about to say.
- 34:29Speaker 1: I felt like she did not want to compromise, like
- 34:32Speaker 1: this is me, tick me how I am, or just
- 34:34Speaker 1: don't take me at all. That that would be the
- 34:38Speaker 1: person they'll label as the difficult one. No, just standing
- 34:42Speaker 1: up because they know who they are. So I truly
- 34:45Speaker 1: think that's one of the things that happened to laur
- 34:46Speaker 1: in hell. And I don't blame in Lauren. So okay,
- 34:48Speaker 1: I ain't got to tell you. I like the money,
- 34:51Speaker 1: can let me go ahead and do what I need
- 34:52Speaker 1: to do for my people.
- 34:54Speaker 5: I brought she broke records. That's all.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Yes, So before we leave tonight, I have one question. Well,
- 35:05Speaker 1: I have two more questions, but the first question I
- 35:07Speaker 1: always ask my author is, well, most of my authors,
- 35:12Speaker 1: what does literary success look like to you?
- 35:19Speaker 6: Using my platform to bring souls to the most high.
- 35:27Speaker 7: Yeah, I would say that, and then I would also
- 35:30Speaker 7: add to it healing people, encouraging people to heal.
- 35:35Speaker 4: Those wounds, those bruised up, broken places. Yeah, that can
- 35:43Speaker 4: be healed.
- 35:45Speaker 7: I would want to encourage that, but definitely want to
- 35:48Speaker 7: happen on.
- 35:49Speaker 4: The most SIGs.
- 35:51Speaker 3: I am so loving that. That is beautiful. I am oh,
- 35:55Speaker 3: I am so loving that. That's why you're a YouTube page.
- 35:58Speaker 3: I like that. I saw your YouTube and I saw
- 36:00Speaker 3: a couple of SIPs. I saw that.
- 36:04Speaker 1: So before leave, I like to do something that's called
- 36:06Speaker 1: the wrap up. So that's you give them all the
- 36:09Speaker 1: information they need to follow you, to follow your books,
- 36:14Speaker 1: to grab your books.
