- 0:20Through the Yeah, that's what it was, right?
- 0:23Yeah, You know, that also reminded me of remember, like
- 0:26the mannequin challenge, like 16.
- 0:28That was cool. Yeah, do you remember the
- 0:29Titans? God, I can't.
- 0:35Nah Nah Nah. Nah.
- 0:36Nah. Nah, Nah, Nah.
- 0:36Nah, just levels. Yeah.
- 0:40Like what was better than Mannequin Challenge or Harlem
- 0:43Shake? Yeah, Harlem Shake.
- 0:44Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
- 0:46I don't know. Who's worse though?
- 0:50What are you gonna say? No, no, don't give it away.
- 0:54Plastic bag through the wind. Started.
- 0:57Again. Or Spencer night.
- 1:01I'll tell you which one I'd rather have.
- 1:02Nuts. What jersey does plastic bag you
- 1:04have? The Chicago jersey, that's like
- 1:07in the interview when he was like, Jimmy, you're a firework.
- 1:11OK, a plastic bag in a Winnipeg Jets jersey or Spencer night.
- 1:14Plastic bag. Yeah, alright, cool.
- 1:18They're. Really nice jersey.
- 1:19Yeah, they got a nice jersey. Winnipeg. 36 Chicago.
- 1:23So they they do, I don't. Know it's basic.
- 1:26Yeah, yeah. Something about like the blue,
- 1:28blue oblong Rouge derivatives. You know, that's kind of cool.
- 1:31Like, OK, everybody, yeah. For hockey, yeah, to well, this
- 1:36is hockey ish. Yeah.
- 1:38Welcome in everybody to Bangor Management, the Fantasy Hockey
- 1:41Podcast with your host Jake, Josh and Kevork.
- 1:44Ian Sad Kevork. Josh Nam, Switzerland Pretty.
- 1:49Neutral, right? Now, I don't know.
- 1:51I mean, I've gotten over my sadness for not being in the
- 1:54playoffs anymore in our league of record, but Kevin and I are
- 1:58destroying one of our other leagues so.
- 2:00That's kind of cool. It's pretty rad.
- 2:02Josh and I are both in opposite semifinals in our league of
- 2:05record and it's pretty tight for both of us right now, but we're
- 2:08basically depressed. Our goalies suck.
- 2:10Honestly for the no problem our goalies suck plastic bags.
- 2:18It doesn't help if you do it sleep it like I was sucking
- 2:26black. What on what if I say?
- 2:29Those are basically paper straws.
- 2:32What if I say a bunch of words and then I say Spencer night and
- 2:34you just bleep out all the words?
- 2:35So it seems like I'm swearing really hard about him.
- 2:37Just bleep out everything I just said other than Spencer night.
- 2:42There's a bunch of followers, but maybe worth it for the vine.
- 2:44Yeah, exactly. All right.
- 2:46Welcome us in. Yes, today is our mail bag

- 3:09Please rate us we need because we're sad.
- 3:12Yeah, thank you. I really, you know, side note, I
- 3:14hope you both make it to the finals because you guys are
- 3:17gonna hate each other. Next week we already hate each
- 3:19other. Honestly, just be so happy to
- 3:22make it to the. Finals same.
- 3:24You do this God every, every year.
- 3:28You guys are so traumatized. I just want to make the final
- 3:31asking for a lot. He's won three back-to-back to
- 3:33back. Yeah, yeah.
- 3:34You know it's better than three. Is 4/24.
- 3:39Alright, should I dive into some questions?
- 3:41Do it all right, one of our super fans, JVD 03/08 asked
- 3:46which goalie would you pick up in the next two weeks as in the
- 3:49rest of week 23 and week 24? This cats are wins, saves, save
- 3:54percentage and shutouts. And he he currently has
- 3:57Blackwood and Gustafson. So here are the list of guys
- 4:00he's got length talking Lankinen, UPL, Jerry De Smith
- 4:06and Talbot. OK, so ruling out Lankinen,
- 4:09yeah. Yeah, ruling out sick and then
- 4:11goes back so. Rule Talbot.
- 4:13Yeah, Talbot injured. To me, I think between UPL and
- 4:19WHO. Was the last three are UL, Jerry
- 4:21and Smith. I don't think Smith getting
- 4:23enough starts. Yeah, the Smith will get back to
- 4:25backs. And they'll be.
- 4:26Thinking people just because you know the same percentage might
- 4:28not be there, but is it get you the most saves I think.
- 4:32I mean, I would not trust Jerry with my season.
- 4:35Yes to Smith is like if you need a spot start, you could pick him
- 4:37up for that one start. You're gonna hold on to him for
- 4:39two weeks. So UPL is the only answer out of
- 4:41these. My real question, I guess I was
- 4:42about to say my real question is why would you get a third goalie
- 4:44when you're Blackwood and Gus, especially going into next week
- 4:46where both those teams have four games.
- 4:48Black's gonna get you three starts, gonna get you three
- 4:50starts. That's six starts among two
- 4:51goalies. I don't, I'm pretty happy with
- 4:53that and just taking extra player.
- 4:55So you let JVD ask this question, You called them a
- 4:57super fan just to tell him that his question was stupid?
- 5:01Never say that I you your words, you know.
- 5:04So yeah, I think it could just be there.
- 5:08There's a couple of things here 1.
- 5:10Maybe the opponent has really good goalies.
- 5:12Well, yeah, that and. But picking a goal, he's not
- 5:15gonna make it worse. Stories not gonna.
- 5:16Make more minimum starts that we think about.
- 5:19More than six. He's gonna get 6 starts next
- 5:21week with those two more. Than he might.
- 5:23He might need the saves in the wins.
- 5:24Yeah, that's what I mean. Like like Kevin and I are in the
- 5:27other league where we have 3 goalies starting.
- 5:30Yeah, every. Day like it's like it's not 2
- 5:32starters like I see what you're saying.
- 5:33Maybe. Maybe it's a points?
- 5:34League JVD. It is not a stupid, they're just
- 5:38very worked up, especially Josh who thought it was.
- 5:43Covered with the words in my mouth, Kevin tried to make me
- 5:46lose my one fan on Reddit. No, no, it's a great question,
- 5:50as are all of our fans questions, so we truly
- 5:52appreciate it. But yeah, I think you're kind of
- 5:56how your hands are tied, honestly, because IPL, just like
- 5:59Jerry, is such a wild card. I really don't like any of these
- 6:02guys, to be honest. At least you have the two solid
- 6:05goalies. There is a world and even which
- 6:08let's say there is 3 starting spots.
- 6:10I would just maybe just ride the two because you should get the
- 6:13minimum starts as you mentioned Josh from 2:00.
- 6:16Guys, look at it. He didn't mention his cats,
- 6:17right? So it's win safe, safe
- 6:19percentage and shutouts. Shutouts.
- 6:20Let's ignore it because you can't stream.
- 6:21That so this is we have goals against average is one of them,
- 6:24right. So he only has one quality based
- 6:26thing. It's a very quantity oriented
- 6:28league it seems that's fair. So that's why he kind of is
- 6:31gonna aim. For and you know, if you have
- 6:32three games of Blackwood and three games of Gus, like when
- 6:35you have a decent amount of games, one outlier doesn't make
- 6:38that much of a difference. It kind of gets like blended in
- 6:40with the rest. So yeah, you know, taking all
- 6:42that into account, I guess he's asking just who's gonna get the
- 6:44most starts with the most best chance of being decent.
- 6:47And I think PPL of those. Five yeah, that's it.
- 6:49But like right. I mean, though, he he's.
- 6:51If I had to rank them though, PL. and then I mean Alex Line is
- 6:55probably on. If you ask for Talbot, he's
- 6:56probably. OK, Detroit.
- 6:58Yeah. So like replace Taboo with.
- 6:59Lion Yeah, not a bad idea. You would put Lion over Jerry.
- 7:03Put line over upo probably. Really.
- 7:05No, you don't think so. Male lion.
- 7:09I go, I go. UL Jerry Lyon to Smith,
- 7:12LinkedIn. Jerry over over Lion.
- 7:15Yeah, I know he just had that really terrible game, but like.
- 7:17I didn't go line just because you know that nobody else like
- 7:21that can start there, right Where Jerry, they complained.
- 7:23No that's a good point, especially with the fact that of
- 7:25their three games next week 1 of back-to-back you could only get
- 7:28one start and only getting one start.
- 7:30You gotta pick a guy who's actually get a quality one like
- 7:32the Smith. So exactly.
- 7:33Fully agree. And even though mine was on your
- 7:36list, but we're assuming that he's available only in Ross and
- 7:384% of leaks, I think, yeah. All right, next, Gorgonzola 69
- 7:44at Is it OK for someone to purposely lose a week to get a
- 7:49more favorable playoff matchup, or is that dirty?
- 7:53Hmm. Honestly, I'm, I'm kind of,
- 8:00yeah, yeah, it's, it's tough. I'm kind of of the belief that
- 8:03like you, you gotta do what's best for you in this case.
- 8:06So I mean, I realize that there could be hella ramifications and
- 8:10not everybody's going to be happy, but if there's a
- 8:13established understanding in the league that you are able to do
- 8:17these type of things going into the season, then I prefer that.
- 8:20I think the question, the question is probably isn't
- 8:23understanding going into the league, right.
- 8:25That's just going to put their their their weak.
- 8:28Yeah, I think I think the biggest thing you have the first
- 8:31thing you have to think about is who else does this impact
- 8:33besides your current matchup in your current seating, right?
- 8:36Like are you punting against the worst team in the league where
- 8:40they're at Mia and they haven't checked their line up and it's
- 8:43not gonna affect anybody else besides you just like falling
- 8:45into a better seat that you want?
- 8:47Or are you like knocking somebody out of the playoffs
- 8:50because you're giving somebody a free win?
- 8:51You know what I mean? That I would think that that's
- 8:54not OK. Like you have to like, at that
- 8:56point, you're compromising the integrity of the like,
- 8:58somebody's missing out on a playoff spot not because like,
- 9:01their team didn't deserve it, but because somebody else got a
- 9:04free like, you know, huge. Win.
- 9:06So is it OK to do it then then if it doesn't affect anybody?
- 9:08Yeah. I think at that point, you're
- 9:10not really hurting anybody else. And it could just be, it could
- 9:14happen naturally as well, right. So it's not in the realm of
- 9:17possibility. I think I agree with what you're
- 9:20saying. I think as long as you're not
- 9:22negatively affecting anyone else by punting, then other than like
- 9:27someone passing you and then they get a match up against
- 9:29someone that you think is more difficult, I think that's
- 9:32totally fair. But yeah, if you're giving
- 9:33someone a playoff spot over someone else because you're
- 9:36punting, I think that's kind of like not in the spirit of the
- 9:39game. And if I was a commissioner and
- 9:40I saw a team doing that, like there ramifications.
- 9:42Yeah, I don't think that's OK, but like I actually, it's funny.
- 9:45That's a question because I literally just did that this
- 9:46year, right? I was, it was the last week I
- 9:49was in the 3rd and I really don't wanna play against Jakey,
- 9:51who was in 6th. And so I wanted to purposely
- 9:55punch that I could drop to 4th and play the 5th place guy and
- 9:59but I think I was playing against the worst team in the
- 10:01league like. He did the line up in like a
- 10:04month. And them winning had no
- 10:06ramifications on anyone else in the league.
- 10:07Yeah. So I punted it.
- 10:08I did it and it worked out and I don't feel bad about it all.
- 10:11It didn't affect anyone else poorly.
- 10:12Yeah, but but if I was playing against the guy that Jake was
- 10:16fighting for a playoff spot, you know, I don't think it would be
- 10:19fair for me to punt it. And then that guy passes Jake
- 10:21and he does the playoffs just because I wanted a different
- 10:23seating, you know, that that I don't think is fair.
- 10:25I guess the general rule of thumb is that this shouldn't be
- 10:27able to be a thing, but like in your case it didn't matter and
- 10:31you obviously did the due diligence beforehand, you know
- 10:32what I mean? Like there should be a rule
- 10:35potentially that's just like, you know, you have to start your
- 10:36lineup. Like we have the football.
- 10:39Yeah, we have that for football because football it can be like
- 10:41very, you know, obviously it's, I feel like, yeah, the weeks are
- 10:45just less weeks and there's more volatility.
- 10:48Whereas, you know, those games one like once a day, right?
- 10:52Whereas for hockey it's like, sorry, I said once a day, but
- 10:54once a week, yeah. Whereas for hockey every day,
- 10:57right. So it's harder to punt in
- 10:59hockey. But for sure, I mean, for me,
- 11:01like it also was the last week of the season, right?
- 11:04So there was no on there's, it's not like if it happens earlier
- 11:07in the season also, I don't know why you would ever do that
- 11:09earlier in the season. It's more of a like last week
- 11:11thing. Yeah.
- 11:11But like, you know, earlier on, anything could happen last week.
- 11:14I knew for a fact that this guy getting points is not gonna
- 11:16affect anyone. So I don't mind punting.
- 11:18But yeah, so I think it's really, you don't want anyone to
- 11:21get punished for you punting essentially.
- 11:22Exactly. But if it doesn't really affect
- 11:24anyone, it just affects where you end up in the matchups, then
- 11:26I think that's totally fair. All right, next Ben Chiarot is a
- 11:30hottie? Asks.
- 11:33Is that your wife? Do rookies get better at face
- 11:37offs as their career progresses? Can rookie sees that have a bad
- 11:40faceoff win percentage improve? Or is their first year
- 11:42percentage usually a good sign of how they'll always be?
- 11:45They absolutely can improve. Hmm.
- 11:48So yeah. For me, the first example that
- 11:50comes to mind is McKinnon. Right, so it's OK.
- 11:52I was about to say that that was a rollercoaster though.
- 11:54McKinnon was sick at faceoffs for like 2 years and pretty
- 11:59garbage at points. Like you had a good rookie year,
- 12:01then it's like next two years were nothing and then he decided
- 12:04to be horrible at faceoffs and that directly correlated to him
- 12:07being sick for points. OK, so pretty much you can't be
- 12:10good at both. Now he's excellent at both, you
- 12:14know what I mean? So it's funny cause it's a known
- 12:17thing that that rookies are not usually that good at faceoffs,
- 12:21but it's yeah. I mean, you have to go through
- 12:25the logic of it. Why are rookies not good at
- 12:26faceoffs? They're younger, they're
- 12:28smaller, they're not as strong and not as.
- 12:29Experienced exactly. They haven't had time with like
- 12:33an NHL level coach who like, you know, some teams will hire a guy
- 12:36just to teach face off. Like Manny Malhotra was the God
- 12:39of face off, you know, and he would get hired by teams just
- 12:42just, yeah, just to like teach their guys like how to do face
- 12:46offs the best way. So I think it's actually not
- 12:48only like, not only can they get better, I think it's a known
- 12:51fact that they will get better, right?
- 12:52I would never judge someone based on how they were as a
- 12:55rookie at faceoffs. Yeah, for sure.
- 12:58That that's like the category that you just truly can all
- 13:01predict like like going into their sophomore year.
- 13:04If they're not, I just think that whatever they do on their
- 13:07rookie year will be like the foundation and the starting
- 13:10point for them getting better. Like I can't imagine somebody,
- 13:13you know, let's say, getting like having a 45% average in
- 13:16their rookie year and then getting worse as their career
- 13:18progresses. Just think it's going to go up.
- 13:21Cannon wasn't Anomaly because he was really good.
- 13:23Really, really good. And then we came back and now
- 13:25he's. Amazing.
- 13:26But it also depends like where you are in the line up, right?
- 13:27Like if you're if you're a stud rookie, you get drafted to a
- 13:31team that's awful, you're gonna play since the top line on the
- 13:33other team, the team probably has their best face on the top
- 13:36line. So you're already at a
- 13:37disadvantage playing. You suffer competition.
- 13:38Yeah, you're a rookie. But like, I think is a good
- 13:42example, right, yes, he doesn't really take many face offs right
- 13:45now or when he does, he's not like the best at it.
- 13:48I can see him getting significantly better as the
- 13:50season as is. You're like career progresses
- 13:52for sure. For sure.
- 13:53Yeah, I think it's it's one of those things that it's, it's
- 13:55usually, it's usually like things are looking up like it
- 13:59gets better it generally. So yeah, that's what that's what
- 14:02I would answer to. Ben Sharat is a hottie.
- 14:06And good call on that, yeah. Alright, next number 1.
- 14:13Bang? Ginger asks.
- 14:14The Whoa. Would it be worth it to drop a
- 14:18more established top player on a good team for a less good player
- 14:21on a team fighting for a playoff?
- 14:23Spot. Yeah.
- 14:23That's pretty much like what I would say, yeah.
- 14:28I mean bang ganger. No, it's at the end of the day,
- 14:35I, I think that, you know, when it comes to the end of the
- 14:38season, if you see that there are players who are just on such
- 14:41good teams that they're going to be rested, you could, you could
- 14:44just feel free to draw them, you know what I mean?
- 14:46Even if like, let's say going into week 25, there's six games
- 14:49and you know beforehand that chiefly is getting like three
- 14:54games, you know what I mean? Three and three.
- 14:56You're better off picking up someone on the.
- 15:01Depends what kind of you were talking about too, right?
- 15:03You just want more games. I think the volume matters.
- 15:04More for sure, but the question was, is it more valuable to pick
- 15:08up guys that are on a fringe playoff kind of cusp where
- 15:11they're really trying to make the playoffs?
- 15:13Yeah, like my, in my mind, I'm thinking of like on waivers in
- 15:16most leagues right now, like Coronado.
- 15:18Like who are you dropping to pick up Coronado?
- 15:21Yeah, you don't want to drop your your All Stars.
- 15:23But would you pick up? Would you drop like Josh, let me
- 15:26ask you, are you dropping John Tavares for Coronado next week?
- 15:30No2 games versus four games. No, as far as it's been too hot.
- 15:33So yeah, the two types of Terra over to four games of Coronado,
- 15:36who's on the playoff bubble. So that answers the question
- 15:39then, because that's, you know, two game week.
- 15:40That's a huge two games discrepancy.
- 15:42And you're talking about like a, you know, pretty big stud.
- 15:45Yeah, compared to Wave Wireless like really hot right now.
- 15:49Yeah, so I guess you're saying that the logic kind of like
- 15:51translates to. I mean it depends.
- 15:53Week 25, Yeah. So like, let's say in week 25,
- 15:56two teams have six games. Yeah, one team is top of the
- 15:59standings. And there's like an All Star
- 16:00player who, you know, only plays three of the six games versus
- 16:04someone else fighting for a playoff position, you know, 6
- 16:07making six. So that's kind of what I'm
- 16:11thinking. But yeah, I don't know.
- 16:12It's tough. I it really depends who.
- 16:14You don't want to drop your All Stars, but at the same time,
- 16:17it's honestly a good drafting strategy.
- 16:19Or we could talk more about this next year, of course, where
- 16:22you're picking guys on fringe playoff teams.
- 16:25I think, I think where I'd consider it is when I'm looking
- 16:28at waiver wire options and I'm using it as a deal breaker.
- 16:30Like, OK, maybe this guy is a little less hot than the other
- 16:33guy, but he's on a team that really wants to make the
- 16:35playoffs or whatnot and is fighting for that spot.
- 16:38Maybe they have more fight and you're assuming that he's gonna
- 16:40be in better form because of. It it's not just about more
- 16:42fight. It's also like if a guy's on a
- 16:44hot streak and he's on a team that's fighting for playoffs,
- 16:46those teams are gonna play whoever has the hot hand the
- 16:48most. So they're gonna keep riding
- 16:50with that person. Yeah.
- 16:51Or as if it's a team that's already comfortable.
- 16:52They're keeping their top guys in the most, regardless of if
- 16:55another guy's hot or not. They don't really need the wins.
- 16:57Yeah. Yeah, yeah, that's, that's what
- 16:59I was about to. All right, Queefer?
- 17:02Sherwood asks. Is he related to Kiefer
- 17:07Sherwood? Oh my God.
- 17:12Alright, Kiefer, what's your question?
- 17:13Which dark horse team do you think can win the cup this year?
- 17:17That's a great question, Cooper. OK, so the dark horse teams, I
- 17:22think if you have to look at the playoffs and what the playoff
- 17:25picture is going to look like, the fringe playoff teams are
- 17:29going to be teams like it's gonna be like Saint Louis.
- 17:32It's gonna be like probably Minnesota at this point.
- 17:36Like Canadian thermal? Yeah.
- 17:39The devils, you know, the senators.
- 17:41Crazy the devils are dark horse. Yeah, the Rangers, potentially.
- 17:44Yeah, that's. Also, not even more insane.
- 17:47Yeah, yeah. OK.
- 17:50So that's like kind of the list we're dealing with.
- 17:53I feel like Blues is like way more dark horse yeah, than like
- 17:56some of the. Others, they're super hot right
- 17:58now, right? So they're going into the
- 17:59playoffs as one of the hottest teams, Yeah.
- 18:01And have the best player in the league.
- 18:03Yeah. Dylan Holloway.
- 18:04Yeah. So to me, like looking at this
- 18:07list like, yeah, the sends would be there too.
- 18:09Of course, like you mentioned, I don't know.
- 18:12The devil's I'm not choosing. I don't think they can, do they?
- 18:15Are the kings of Dark Horse team?
- 18:16No, no. They're they're a favorite at
- 18:18this. Point they're they're just stuck
- 18:19playing the. Yeah, yeah.
- 18:20But honestly, I think this is the year they beat them.
- 18:22Really. I think so too.
- 18:23They've really I'm so. Impressed.
- 18:25No chance. Yeah, I didn't.
- 18:26Really, I just think they're gonna like.
- 18:28Kemper. Yeah, no.
- 18:29But here's the thing. I think that it's gonna be
- 18:32really big who gets home ice advantage, The King.
- 18:34I don't know if you've seen like the Kings record at home versus
- 18:37away night and day. And I think the game probably
- 18:39goes to seven. I think the series goes to
- 18:41seven. Answer note.
- 18:46No, but I. Just flipped the table.
- 18:49I could try. I think, I think that goes to
- 18:53seven and I think that it might be crazy to say, but I think the
- 18:56home team wins every game of that series, so I think.
- 18:59Whoever wins, I wonder if that's a hot take or.
- 19:01Not I think that whoever has home ice advantage is gonna win
- 19:03it. And I think LA, especially with
- 19:05the Oilers resting Leon and Connor, like, I think Ella's
- 19:09gonna get home ice advantage and win it.
- 19:11I think so too. OK, but that's not a dark horse
- 19:13team. Yeah, that's not a dark horse.
- 19:14Probably the Blues. What about the Rangers?
- 19:18I don't think Rangers are making the playoffs.
- 19:20If they sneak into the playoffs and it's.
- 19:23They're a very strong team. Yeah, I don't think the water.
- 19:27First round they could be Washington in A7 game series.
- 19:29Yes, they can, right? I believe that.
- 19:32I mean, if that's your, you can go with that is your answer.
- 19:34I'm not, I don't think, making the playoffs.
- 19:35But I think the Blues, like fit the definition in the best of
- 19:38all of them and. I yeah, like the senators.
- 19:41The senators? A lot.
- 19:42Blues and Senators. Who the Senators play first
- 19:44round? If they're in the first wild
- 19:46card, they would play the winner of the Atlantic.
- 19:47So it can be any of Florida, Tampa or Toronto.
- 19:49Toronto Auto would be a sick person.
- 19:51That would be I don't know. I hope that.
- 19:54Would be Toronto. OK.
- 19:55But if Florida play, I think Florida plays Ottawa.
- 19:58Florida. Florida would win.
- 19:59Yeah, the ketchup versus ketchup.
- 20:00Well, yeah. And I think Ottawa could be
- 20:02Tampa though. Yeah, I think I can see Auto
- 20:05being the two other teams, but it's obviously gonna go into any
- 20:07of those matchups as the other dog.
- 20:08Ottawa, St. Louis are my two favorite of
- 20:12each, which would be kind of cool, but I like the Blues.
- 20:15I just think, you know, we, we spoken about the Montgomery
- 20:18effect. Dark Horse right now.
- 20:20Honestly, they feel like they've been the best.
- 20:22Team So the other thing is. That Don Holloway, baby.
- 20:25Yeah, literally. Bennington may have a lot more
- 20:27confidence. Honestly, yeah, the Four Nations
- 20:29was. Huge.
- 20:30And people were like bleeping on him.
- 20:32Yeah, for the whole time, you know what I mean?
- 20:34Being like, wow, he's washed, he sucks, this and that.
- 20:36And then he really came. Through on this.
- 20:38Game. So the fact that he still has
- 20:39that clutch element, yeah, I don't know.
- 20:41It's like an intangible that you kind of like ignore because
- 20:44you're like, whatever. But then it actually shows up
- 20:47when it matters most and you're like, OK, maybe this is a real
- 20:49thing. Like, you know, people who can
- 20:50like, play in clutch, like and be.
- 20:52So it would be between, it would be between those two.
- 20:55And Almark may just not be that healthy.
- 20:57Yeah, he just may not be fully healthy right now.
- 20:59Yeah. So that's why I would say the
- 21:00Blues. Are my yeah.
- 21:01I definitely think the Blues are the most likely of the wild card
- 21:05teams or dark horse teams to go far in win the cup.
- 21:07Yeah. But but of the list that you
- 21:10mentioned on paper, the Rangers of the strongest, I just don't
- 21:13know if they have it this year. It's just been like.
- 21:16If they sneak into the playoffs, though, I feel like they're
- 21:18A-Team that's built like they're not that different from last
- 21:20year. Things are better.
- 21:21Yeah. They even though the Miller not
- 21:22hasn't been on P1 so I don't know what's.
- 21:24Happening. The coach is just a bit of a
- 21:26mess, but also they have to shake things up because they're
- 21:28losing, right? So, yeah, but who knows?
- 21:31But yeah, I like the Blues as well.
- 21:32Alright, next question. Alright, Bing Bang Bang with?
- 21:35Amadio asks who will be the next Canadian team to win the Cup.
- 21:42The Montreal Canadiens. Alright, cool.
- 21:44Next. Next.
- 21:46I actually think the senators are are built to.
- 21:48Do I think it's gotta be boilers?
- 21:51I McDavid is gonna do it. If they don't, it might be this
- 21:54year, it might be this year, might be next year, it might be
- 21:56the year after. I think it's just this and.
- 21:57Next year, but they're, you know, they're gonna have McDavid
- 21:59and Draisaitl for the foreseeable future.
- 22:02I. Can't, but they keep making
- 22:03terrible moves in the offseason like signing like Jeff Skinner
- 22:06to lose Holloway in Roseburg is one of the dumbest
- 22:09mismanagement. Like if they had a good
- 22:11management, you know, like they should have already won a cup.
- 22:14But I don't know, I just don't trust their management.
- 22:17I don't trust you, Skinner as. I trust those two guys.
- 22:19I mean, there's a reason why they were one game away from
- 22:21winning last year. Yeah, but you know, two guys can
- 22:24get you to the sound like game seven of the finals.
- 22:27But you know what? We need three guys really with
- 22:28that. Actually.
- 22:31Evan Bouchard is that guy. Ohi actually, I don't know.
- 22:34Winnipeg's pretty good. Too.
- 22:36Yeah, hello Fuck is the best goalie in the.
- 22:37League, I just, I don't know if they have it in the playoffs
- 22:39too. I feel like Winnipeg.
- 22:40Every year I feel like they come in as like a favorite at least
- 22:43last couple of years and then they just lose in the 1st.
- 22:45Round, yeah, I don't know. To me, To me, I just feel like
- 22:48auto was built for it. I love those experiences.
- 22:53One way to think about it, though, is like, when do you
- 22:56think it's gonna happen, right. If it's happening in the short
- 22:59term, then yeah, it's gonna be an Edmonton or Winnipeg.
- 23:02They don't pull it off now. In the next couple years, who's
- 23:04gonna have the most repeated chances?
- 23:05It's gonna be a Montreal or Ottawa.
- 23:06I don't, I don't think Toronto's doing it.
- 23:08I think Oilers are always gonna be in the mix and I don't I
- 23:10don't think Winnipeg is there because Winnipeg going into the
- 23:13season right now there, they remind me so much of Dallas have
- 23:15last year. Yeah, right.
- 23:17It's kind of like we just know they're really solid team, but
- 23:20then it comes to the playoffs and then something happens.
- 23:22You know, they really, they're Powerblade team in the playoffs,
- 23:25in the power plays. Are more scared much at the
- 23:27trade deadline and they just lost validity week to week.
- 23:30It's a pretty massive loss, but I agree I don't see Winnipeg
- 23:33doing it this year. I think either have the most
- 23:36firepower and then it's gonna be whoever builds the better team
- 23:38between the Senators and the Habs.
- 23:40Yeah, I like the Habs. I think.
- 23:41Why don't you think? Calgary and Vancouver were just
- 23:43kind of ruling out I don't see them.
- 23:45Coming into this season, I thought Vancouver was the team,
- 23:48but really after what they. DID was awful and Calgary is
- 23:51awful. They're only good because of
- 23:52Dustin Wolf. Like they only have a chance at
- 23:55playoffs because of. Wolf.
- 23:56But I'm looking at the Senators lineup like their top three
- 23:58lines are stacked. They're really, really good.
- 24:02Like what if what if Ottawa was ready truck?
- 24:05Well, yeah, no, that changes everything.
- 24:07And I do think that they have a mix like Piran.
- 24:08Jiru are both very experienced players of course.
- 24:11You know, top 90, those guys are going to age out.
- 24:13But who do they have on defence? They have.
- 24:14Sanderson was amazing and they've got Shabbat.
- 24:16Yeah, and I guess Hamonic Jensen.
- 24:19Organic is hated by that fan base.
- 24:22Not look great on. Defence, they're not great on
- 24:24defence and Almark has like kind of, you know, health issues,
- 24:27yeah, you know. Yeah, it's.
- 24:29He. They just give me squishy.
- 24:31The only reason, Kevin, that I don't think it would be the.
- 24:34Haves are built for more long term.
- 24:35Success. I think the only reason I don't
- 24:36think it would be Edmonton is because I don't think Edmonton's
- 24:39gonna win this year. And if Edmonton doesn't win this
- 24:42year? They'll still be one of the best
- 24:43Canadian teams year after as well.
- 24:45I mean, they just have the two best players in the world, their
- 24:49value. But yeah, no, honestly.
- 24:50You're the biggest free agents next year.
- 24:52'S. Biggest free agent like going
- 24:54going into the. You got Tavarus and Mariner or
- 24:56two big ones I could think of right off the bat.
- 24:58Because I know the Habs are gonna spend money in the
- 25:00offseason. Yeah, like Kent Hughes said.
- 25:02It's time we're bringing in some players, you know.
- 25:04Yeah, I really. Who are the biggest 2025?
- 25:09That's why I think it's like the Senators and the hubs are both 2
- 25:11plus years away and I just don't think the Oilers are gonna win
- 25:14it this year. I don't think Toronto is going
- 25:15to win. I don't think is going to.
- 25:16Win I. Pretty much of these guys, we
- 25:19have these teams like. You know, hold on, hold on.
- 25:21Hold on, but I'm. Going with which one of these
- 25:24guys are honestly, which one of these guys are to have signing
- 25:26in the offseason? Mitch Marner, Matt Dushane, John
- 25:30Tavares, Nick Ellers, Gravlin, Ryan Donato, Brock Nelson,
- 25:34Patrick. Kane I could see them getting
- 25:36Brock Nelson. Sam Bennett.
- 25:37Brad Marshan. Oh, Bennett would be their main,
- 25:39their best target. But it could be cool.
- 25:42Paul Mary Besser. I mean, how do you go from like
- 25:45living in Florida to like, living in like Montreal?
- 25:47You know, it's the opposite of where all the.
- 25:49Snowbirds. I think Bennett would be like
- 25:51the most reasonable best fit of the ones.
- 25:53You mean we really need a 2C so we're not going?
- 25:55To John Tavares, that'd be crazy.
- 25:57I know he would do it. He wouldn't.
- 25:59He's a Toronto. Boy no.
- 26:03I'd love Bennett. Yeah, with more than Brock
- 26:07Nelson. Yeah, I would take my net over
- 26:08Nelson. But I would be happy with either
- 26:10of them to be. Honest, now that'd be sick.
- 26:12Just happens. Just depends what we can.
- 26:13See, one almost 50 and one isn't so yeah.
- 26:15Exactly. Yeah.
- 26:18OK. So my final answer is Alwa.
- 26:20You drawing Montreal and Oilers, Kevin?
- 26:23Yeah, Oilers. Nice, nice.
- 26:25All right, you're a wizard. Jerry asked.
- 26:28What staple first round pick won't get picked in the first
- 26:32round of the draft the next year?
- 26:34And who will jump into the first round?
- 26:36OK, wait, side note, did you do you guys know what JJ Peterka
- 26:41stands for? John Jacob.
- 26:43No, John, Jason. Yeah, yeah.
- 26:45I, John, Jason there. That is John Jacob Jingle
- 26:48Heimer. Yeah, yeah.
- 26:52No, I know. John Jason.
- 26:53Yeah, I've never heard them before.
- 26:54I've never heard of John something.
- 26:55No, no, I looked. It up John Cena all right, what
- 27:01first round pick won't get pick in the first round next year and
- 27:03will jump into the first round. I mean, I think.
- 27:06The easy jump in is Kaprizov right?
- 27:08If he, well, I think he already. Was like so fringe like I feel
- 27:12like in a lot of. Leagues he's already.
- 27:14Yeah, so. OK, wait, this was the first 12
- 27:21team league. This was the first round.
- 27:23I can tell you he's not. Gonna get in my point.
- 27:25Was JT Miller. I was gonna yeah, he didn't go
- 27:27in for he didn't go in the first round for a lot of points
- 27:29leagues. OK, so McDavid, McKinnon,
- 27:33Matthews, Kucherov, Pasta Dry Sydal.
- 27:36That's already 6 names. All those guys are going in
- 27:38first time next year. Then it's Rantanen probably out
- 27:41of the first round. If he's on Dallas, he's going to
- 27:44be like a mid second round pick. I think I.
- 27:45Don't have to scoop in the second round.
- 27:47Panarin was. I could see him dropping out the
- 27:50first round. Bar now he's the first.
- 27:52He's first round Jack Hughes. Ohhhhh, that's based on.
- 27:56The injuries, yeah, I mean, the guys behind him is Matthew could
- 27:59Chuck and Carol could resolve. Though he's getting taken first
- 28:01for sure. I could drop out of the 1st.
- 28:04I don't think so. You don't think?
- 28:06I mean, this is the second year in.
- 28:07A row if you're a bangers league, Brady Chuck is there for
- 28:09sure. Yeah, I, yeah.
- 28:10Like obviously the injuries but this is like last year he was
- 28:13garbage for like 3/4 of year and then was great the last quarter.
- 28:16This year, same. Thing he was good.
- 28:17No, he was really good at some points this year.
- 28:20Like this year, yeah, he, but he was very inconsistent and then
- 28:22he's injured for like. OK.
- 28:23We have, we have 8 names of the part in the first round, like
- 28:26the top six that I said. And then it's still my car for
- 28:29sure, Presov. Earlier we said Rantanen, maybe
- 28:34Jack Hughes gives injury. Who drafting?
- 28:36Who you drafting first? Between Ranton and Panera and
- 28:38Jack Hughes and Matthew Truck, I ranked them.
- 28:42I'd go could Chuck Ranton in Hughes and Panarin.
- 28:47To Chuck, Hughes, Panera and Random.
- 28:49You're not taking JT Miller out of any of those guys.
- 28:52In points, no way in bangors. Probably in bangers for sure.
- 28:55I think you have to. Because JT.
- 28:57Could What about Quinn Hughes? Do you think he makes it in
- 28:59there? In the first round.
- 29:01In points, yes. Yeah, I don't see why he's so
- 29:05why Makar is such a like locked in first rounder and Hughes
- 29:08isn't. Yeah, like they're the same
- 29:10player in terms of points. And points I think Marner's
- 29:12gonna creep into. Their do you think?
- 29:13Do you think Hellbox creeps in? I think after how we did this
- 29:17year. I would literally never in my
- 29:19life pick up goalie in the first round.
- 29:21I wouldn't pick a goal in the 1st 10 rounds, but I do think he
- 29:23will get picked in the first round.
- 29:25Do you think would be deserving? I think it'd be different.
- 29:27Serving I think would be a big mistake.
- 29:29You know how she was supposed to be a sure thing.
- 29:33Yeah, drafted in the mid second. Yeah, like every year you have
- 29:36these goalies who are like sure things you see sorrows, which
- 29:39was to have a monster you're terrible year.
- 29:40You know, like every year you have these goalies, you know
- 29:43goalies a whole separate thing. I would never pick on that
- 29:45early, but I do think he gets taken that.
- 29:46Early, so I think, I think Reinhart and Eichel are gonna.
- 29:50Close. Eichel, Reinhart.
- 29:52I think I would take head of Panarin.
- 29:55I'm taking ahead of Rantanen. Yeah, yeah.
- 29:59I'm thinking I call with magical drug.
- 30:01It's close. It's crazy how much better of a
- 30:04career he would have if he had been drafted by any other team
- 30:06than Buffalo. I mean, I'm just happy he got
- 30:08out for his sake. Who were the other?
- 30:10Who? The team right behind Buffalo
- 30:11when he got drafted. Sorry.
- 30:13With Who's the team drafting after Buffalo?
- 30:15Minton, Edmonton, McDavid and then Michael was second.
- 30:20Round yeah. Who's Who's Who's the 3rd
- 30:22overview? Oh, OK, Columbus.
- 30:25The Ghost PLD. OHT no, no, that's that's sorry.
- 30:29That was the pool RV year. I think you're the draft
- 30:33champion. Yeah, seriously.
- 30:34Sometimes. Sometimes.
- 30:35I yeah, so I agree with ankle jumping into the first round.
- 30:39Reinhart was not there though. Kevin, right in your list.
- 30:42What list of like the points? I don't think any high second
- 30:46rounder really. Yeah, I.
- 30:48Mean at this point. In points leagues this year, he
- 30:51went in the mid fourth round. That's wild.
- 30:54He went behind Kyle Connor. He went behind Zibanejad.
- 30:57OK, now he deserves to be a second rounder, but.
- 31:00I think, I don't think you can understand going into this here
- 31:02that people thought maybe. Last for like a flash in the
- 31:04pan. Tom was third.
- 31:07And then? For Washington, no wait, he was
- 31:10drafted by Arizona OHV. Imagine I could went to Arizona
- 31:12now his career would have also been washed.
- 31:14It would've been way better than.
- 31:15Buffalo, though, you have been playing in Mullen Arena.
- 31:18Be like Debbie outta here. Yeah, yeah, fair.
- 31:21But like, anything's better than Buffalo.
- 31:22Man, yeah. Wow, what a draft.
- 31:24Yeah, crazy. Isn't actually.
- 31:25The previous question was for sure gonna be Ottawa because
- 31:27they just traded away Dylan Cousins Buffalo.
- 31:31Yeah. So it has to be. 100% yeah.
- 31:34That's why they have needed to trade with Buffalo, because
- 31:36every time Buffalo trades away a player, they won the cup.
- 31:38Yeah, literally guaranteed. There you go.
- 31:40That's why Ottawa. Yeah, that's it.
- 31:42OK, so cool. I guess we'll move on to the
- 31:45next question. All right.
- 31:48Next question, My name is Jeff Asked who's the best goalie in
- 31:55the universe. Lee right now, Yeah, yeah.
- 31:58Are we talking only NHL? Universe.
- 32:02You know, there could be. Some sort of like, there's this
- 32:06guy on like the Ugandan roller hockey team he's.
- 32:12I'm not familiar with you. You know, they interview.
- 32:16Yes, I'm talking about people. I mean, the easy answer is hella
- 32:22buck, right? Who's better than halibut right
- 32:26now? Vasilevsky.
- 32:27I would say hello boxer guy. There's yeah, No, that's for
- 32:30sure. Hellboy.
- 32:30Yeah, Actually it's Jordan Binnington.
- 32:32We did just faced off. Honestly, that is.
- 32:34True there. Who played better?
- 32:37Of all Four Nations in the world, Jordan, Bennington.
- 32:41It's just, OK, so you have like you have Sorokin and Hellebuyck,
- 32:45who I think are two of like the top guys.
- 32:46You may not think Sorokin is like #2 even.
- 32:49No. But it's like.
- 32:50Think about it though. No, no, I think, I think that's
- 32:52less. He's still up there.
- 32:53Like Jets have. On anger.
- 32:54Jets give me the game like it's hard to choose the guy that's
- 32:57better than Maslowski. Jets, Rangers and Tampa Bay are
- 33:03all have amazing goalies and they all have sick offensive
- 33:06guys. Like who do the Islanders have?
- 33:09Like honestly. They just broken.
- 33:11We know is that's what I mean. We won't know his full potential
- 33:14until he has a team in front of him that can actually win.
- 33:16It's it's you know who else we said that about?
- 33:17Carrie Price. Yeah.
- 33:18He never got a team in front of. Him could, yeah.
- 33:20You never wanna cup, yeah? See, like, and then there's
- 33:22like, OK, Kemper's not there, but I'm just saying like you can
- 33:25compare the fact that like like Kemper and Sorokin are both on
- 33:29teams that can't score, but like.
- 33:32They could. Score.
- 33:33Not really like, I mean they're. Super talent in New York.
- 33:37And I mean, like, New York is garbage.
- 33:39Like they're a very the Islanders.
- 33:41They just don't have a good roster.
- 33:43And that's what I mean. Like it's, it's impressive to
- 33:45see that there are even in the playoff contest, right?
- 33:47Now, but they've been like a playoff team before.
- 33:50You're talking about teams that have no business being in the
- 33:51playoffs and that are because they're goalie.
- 33:53Then the best goal in the world is Dustin Wolf.
- 33:56Not there I mean. There's personnel in the
- 33:59Islanders, in my opinion. Really.
- 34:00Yeah, I think they're horrible. I feel like they have a bit more
- 34:03offensive star power. No, they've got Kadri, who I
- 34:05really. Like Coronado, Hiberno.
- 34:07Yeah, now you're just naming Jose.
- 34:09Yeah, they have Kadri and they have Mackenzie Weegar on defence
- 34:12and that's their team. Rasmus Andersson, Yeah, I mean,
- 34:15that's their second goal. I I hear you so hollow box the
- 34:20number one. But I think is the best goalie.
- 34:23And then second, I would say, in fact, to put my house on the
- 34:27line, I'm going Vasilevski. Here poor.
- 34:29House, yeah, I mean also like it's so subjective, right?
- 34:32We don't have what's our definition of best goal.
- 34:34You know, like if you plop him in front of the same team, who
- 34:36does the best or who? I mean, I think you can also
- 34:39tell, like, you know, when they play for their international
- 34:41teams. Was a starter.
- 34:42Yeah. Like halibut was better than all
- 34:43the other US goalies. Yeah, yeah.
- 34:45True. He.
- 34:46Yeah, lot to me. So which nationality is the
- 34:49best? It would be Russia.
- 34:50I don't even think it's a contest.
- 34:52Vassy, Bob. Bob.
- 34:56Yeah, that's ridiculous. We're kinda used to be the
- 34:59goalie factory. Yeah, we were like horrible
- 35:01right now. We've got Binnington Hill and
- 35:04Logan Tumble. Yeah, exactly.
- 35:07Yeah. Thompson and Blackwood.
- 35:08Yeah, where's Fowler? Kemper, the US, right?
- 35:10Jacob Fowler is the US. Yeah, there you go.
- 35:12No, I mean Canada, is just nodded.
- 35:15For both. Did you see what people were
- 35:17saying? Why that is, is because like all
- 35:20the the this whole generation of Canadians grew up watching Cindy
- 35:23Crawled. You wanted to be the next Cindy
- 35:24Crosby that there would be. Nobody became goalies anymore.
- 35:28Carrie Price and. Longo and that was that was our
- 35:31that was before Crosby. Yeah, the kids were growing up
- 35:35looking wanted to be Crosby. Crosby were like the same arrow.
- 35:38You think? Didn't have like the injury like
- 35:41but yeah, they were drafted pretty much around the same
- 35:43time. Yeah, I got it.
- 35:45But to me, to me it's yeah, it's hella Buck.
- 35:49And then who's number 2? Let's do 123 and then.
- 35:52We'll leski #2 yeah, after tonight in my fantasy season,
- 35:58capture them because it's. I It's hard to argue against
- 36:04Vasilevsky just with how what he's done.
- 36:05You know those cups? And definitely would put him at
- 36:071 though. Yeah, it's about who's the best
- 36:09right now, right? But it's not like he stopped
- 36:12doing stuff. Starting my team and starting my
- 36:14hug. But then.
- 36:15Halibut Vasilevski. I would agree with that as #2
- 36:17but I think my #3 would be Ottinger I really like.
- 36:21I don't think. I think is better than. #3 I
- 36:29like having an off year to be. Honest, it wasn't necessarily
- 36:33great either. So it's really special,
- 36:35honestly. Yeah.
- 36:37Yeah, I've watched a lot of working this year.
- 36:39I could tell you special. All right, fine, Yakub Dobish.
- 36:44There you go. Yeah.
