- 0:54Sean McAllister: We're just inching closer and closer to our 100th episode.
- 0:57Dayna Roselli: It's unreal, right?
- 0:59Dayna Roselli: Time just flies.
- 1:00Dayna Roselli: And we've literally skipped like one week of podcasting.
- 1:03Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, we have been moving.
- 1:05Sean McAllister: Yeah, I know.
- 1:06Sean McAllister: A hundred episodes.
- 1:07Sean McAllister: Man, that just flies by in no time.
- 1:08Sean McAllister: We'll be ready for a big celebration at that point.
- 1:12Sean McAllister: Uh, thanks for joining us.
- 1:13Sean McAllister: Sean McAllister here, along with Dana Roselli.
- 1:16Sean McAllister: And uh, Dana, I I feel like this past week has been uh full of not only uh events and dinners and being all around town, but we've had a little jet setting going on, you and I.
- 1:29Dayna Roselli: Yes, we had a long weekend, and so you were heading off to New York City.
- 1:32Dayna Roselli: I headed up to Seattle to see my friend who lives there.
- 1:36Dayna Roselli: I've never been in the Pacific Northwest before, so it was great to kind of get the lay of the land and see what it was like.
- 1:41Dayna Roselli: It was absolutely gorgeous.
- 1:43Dayna Roselli: Had a great time, great food.
- 1:45Dayna Roselli: I went to the original Starbucks.
- 1:46SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 1:47Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and there was a line down the road.
- 1:49Dayna Roselli: I'm like, this is very, you know, it's funny.
- 1:51Dayna Roselli: In Vegas, there's lines to get into nightclubs.
- 1:53Dayna Roselli: In Seattle, there's a line to get into the original Starbucks.
- 1:56Sean McAllister: Well, and you sent me a picture when you were in that Starbucks, and it it you didn't get a cold brew or a latte.
- 2:04Sean McAllister: You it looked like you got an espresso martini.
- 2:06Dayna Roselli: Well, that was actually a different location.
- 2:08Dayna Roselli: Oh, okay.
- 2:08Dayna Roselli: Okay, so there's the original Starbucks that's like a little coffee shop, but then at night we went to the Starbucks reserve, is what it's called.
- 2:17Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 2:17Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 2:17Dayna Roselli: And it's a whole brewing thing and coffees and yeah, espresso martinis, all sorts of different flights you can get with different kinds of, I don't know, cappuccino shots and all sorts of stuff.
- 2:29Dayna Roselli: I've never experienced that before, and I didn't even know there was a Starbucks that sold alcohol.
- 2:33Sean McAllister: No, I didn't either.
- 2:34Sean McAllister: And we we walked by one of those in uh New York City, too, over in uh the Chelsea neighborhood, and they had a big Starbucks reserve there.
- 2:43Sean McAllister: We went to try and get in, but the line was kind of wrapped around the building, and we were like, eh, we don't need coffee that bad.
- 2:49Dayna Roselli: It's definitely a hot spot, you know, because Starbucks needs to make more money.
- 2:52Sean McAllister: Yeah, no kidding.
- 2:54Sean McAllister: Well, good.
- 2:55Sean McAllister: So Seattle was a good time.
- 2:57Dayna Roselli: It was a good time, beautiful.
- 2:58Dayna Roselli: Uh my friend was a great tour guy.
- 3:00Dayna Roselli: I literally hit every little thing because she um lives in the city, so we did a lot of walking, but also we got in her car and and looked at some of the different cities around there.
- 3:09Dayna Roselli: I think it was Kirkland and Bellevue and Wooden, and we did wine tasting.
- 3:13Dayna Roselli: It was so much fun.
- 3:14Dayna Roselli: We saw waterfalls.
- 3:15Dayna Roselli: I loved it.
- 3:15Sean McAllister: Oh, good, good, good.
- 3:17Dayna Roselli: But I was happy to be back because the misty rain isn't something I would want to live in every single day.
- 3:21Dayna Roselli: Although we had many moments of like very sunny patches and beautiful weather, so it was a good mix.
- 3:26Sean McAllister: Well, good, good.
- 3:27Sean McAllister: And New York was great.
- 3:29Sean McAllister: We saw uh three Broadway shows.
- 3:32Sean McAllister: We saw To Kill a Mockingbird with Jeff Daniels, uh Waitress with Sarah Bareles, and Six, which is like a pop rock concert on Broadway that kind of tells the story of uh Henry the Eighth's Six Wives.
- 3:48Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 3:49Sean McAllister: And so that was really fun.
- 3:50Sean McAllister: We wrapped up the the trip, saw some friends, went to dinner, went to the Met uh, you know, where they do the big Met Gala every year, went up the stairs, saw the big fashion exhibit, um, went and saw I mean, God, there's a ton of art in there that I didn't realize was actually in the Met.
- 4:09Sean McAllister: Right.
- 4:09Sean McAllister: It was crazy, like original Van Goghs and Picasso's and Monet's.
- 4:13Sean McAllister: It was everywhere you turned, there were just amazing stuff.
- 4:16Sean McAllister: So it was fun.
- 4:17Sean McAllister: Good to get back.
- 4:19Sean McAllister: However, when our plane landed, we were stuck on the tarmac for two hours.
- 4:25Dayna Roselli: Oh, that's the worst.
- 4:26Sean McAllister: Waiting for a gate to open up.
- 4:28Dayna Roselli: The worst.
- 4:29Dayna Roselli: And it was late, wasn't it?
- 4:31Sean McAllister: Well, we landed at 10.30 on uh whatever night on a Sunday night we came back.
- 4:37Sean McAllister: Uh we landed at 10.30 and didn't get to a gate for two hours.
- 4:42Sean McAllister: It was ridiculous.
- 4:43Dayna Roselli: It's it that was the whole weekend of, and I know you weren't on a southwest flight, right?
- 4:47Dayna Roselli: But it that was the whole weekend of the Southwest fiasco.
- 4:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 4:50Dayna Roselli: And I didn't even know what was going on, but when I was in line Monday morning to go back to Las Vegas from Seattle, everyone was like, Oh, are you on this flight too?
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: Because yours was canceled yesterday.
- 4:59Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, no, I mean this was my scheduled flight, but I don't know what it is, Sean.
- 5:02Dayna Roselli: I have great travel karma, and I say this all the time.
- 5:06Dayna Roselli: I don't know when it's gonna end, but like I didn't even know that was going on.
- 5:10Dayna Roselli: I literally got on my plane, took off, got off, my friend was there on my way back, hopped off, got in a cab, I was home in 10 minutes.
- 5:16Dayna Roselli: I'm like, I don't know.
- 5:17Dayna Roselli: I just have really good travel karma.
- 5:20Dayna Roselli: If you want to travel, travel with me.
- 5:22Dayna Roselli: It might even be worth buying my ticket, and I'll just go along with you.
- 5:25Sean McAllister: I wonder if it's those new uh goalie greens.
- 5:28Sean McAllister: It could be just keeping the good karma around you.
- 5:31Dayna Roselli: The goalie gummies.
- 5:31Dayna Roselli: Hey, by the way, guys, if you use my code DanaRoselli at goalie.com, you get 25% off everything this week.
- 5:39Sean McAllister: So freaking steal.
- 5:41Sean McAllister: I tell you it really is.
- 5:43Sean McAllister: Hey, uh, before uh Dana and I both jetted out of town.
- 5:47Sean McAllister: Oh, go ahead.
- 5:47Dayna Roselli: I I know, I'm just gonna interrupt you for one second because I wanted to ask you, because I think a lot of people probably wonder, and we hear all these stories about New York as being so different.
- 5:56Dayna Roselli: And I talk about New York City where you were, did you feel it was like really different or very much the same?
- 6:01Sean McAllister: No, it was busy.
- 6:02Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 6:02Sean McAllister: It was busy as as could be.
- 6:05Sean McAllister: I mean, restaurants were packed.
- 6:07Sean McAllister: We stayed right off of Times Square, and I mean it's always busy around there.
- 6:12Sean McAllister: Um, we went over, I mean, to the West Village and uh to Chelsea, and it was super busy over there.
- 6:20Sean McAllister: Lots of families were out, young people.
- 6:23Sean McAllister: Um I did talk with one of my friends who said that you know, during the pandemic, obviously there were all these stories about people moving out of the city.
- 6:30Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 6:31Sean McAllister: And in response to that, uh a lot of places had to lower rents or give good deals to entice people to come back in and fill up their occupancy.
- 6:42Sean McAllister: So I think that things have kind of evened out.
- 6:45SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 6:46Sean McAllister: And i I mean it was it felt like a city of young people.
- 6:49SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 6:49Sean McAllister: Um but there were old people too.
- 6:52Sean McAllister: So I don't know.
- 6:52Sean McAllister: I didn't really feel like there was that much of a difference, to be honest.
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: The rent went down.
- 6:57Sean McAllister: Yeah, I don't think it was a lot.
- 6:59Sean McAllister: Yeah, but something.
- 7:00Sean McAllister: Yeah, kind of maybe it it evened out a little bit.
- 7:03Dayna Roselli: All right, well, let's talk about uh Here at Home.
- 7:05Dayna Roselli: I think you were getting to that earlier, and that is, you know, Las Vegas, Glitz, Glamour, The Strip, and um our shows.
- 7:13Dayna Roselli: And one of them celebrated 22 years on the Las Vegas strip, which really is unreal because shows come and go here all the time.
- 7:21Dayna Roselli: There's a few long-term shows, and one of them is fantasy.
- 7:26Dayna Roselli: They celebrated their 22nd anniversary at the Luxor.
- 7:30Dayna Roselli: They've been there since the beginning.
- 7:31Sean McAllister: I mean, and it not only just at the Luxor since the very beginning, but in the same theater, the Atrium Theater inside the Luxor is where fantasy started, and after 22 years, the show is still going strong, adding new numbers, doing shows seven nights a week, 52 weeks a year, and still winning awards.
- 7:55Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 7:55Dayna Roselli: It's a great variety too, because a lot of people think it's just dancing, but you know, they have Lorraine Peril singing and hosting, they had a comedian there, which was hilarious, and then they have different dance numbers.
- 8:06Dayna Roselli: And in case people aren't familiar, this is a topless show.
- 8:10Dayna Roselli: So not the whole thing is topless, but there are moments where certain numbers where the tops come off.
- 8:16Dayna Roselli: And I know that's a very kind of vagus-y thing because you don't see that a lot anywhere else.
- 8:22Sean McAllister: It's very classy, very fun, good night out for couples.
- 8:26Sean McAllister: Uh, and we uh spoke, Dana, with the show's creator and producer, Anita Mann, who uh just talked all about the longevity of the show and how excited they are to be celebrating this 22-year milestone.
- 8:40Dayna Roselli: When you talk about Vegas shows, I mean, what do you think that fantasy tell everyone what fantasy has that keeps it going 22 years strong?
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: Well, it's got some really good performers, really strong women who are powerful dancers and entertainers, and a great, great variety for the audiences.
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: We really, we do the show to please the people.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: And that's what I think keeps us going because every year we change it, and every year we say, what would make it better?
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: So we just keep doing our job and making it stronger, and I have an incredible support system here at the Luxor.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: If you were here opening night 22 years ago, it's nothing like that show.
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: We change it all the time.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: We have two new numbers going in tonight to celebrate our uh 22.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: Two new numbers.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: I guess when it's 23, we'll have to do three, we'll see.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: But we have two new numbers going in, and that's always exciting.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: We are a show for couples.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: We really are.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: They they come and celebrate uh events, anniversaries, uh, birthdays.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: We have bachelor parties, we have bachelorette parties.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: Please come and see the show because it is a great night.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: And after 22 years, we're still going strong.
- 9:55Sean McAllister: And again, you can see uh fantasy over at the Luxor seven days a week, 52 weeks a year.
- 10:02Sean McAllister: And uh speaking of production shows, Dana, Circus Olay, uh, we've talked in in past episodes how they were kind of phasing the reopening of all of their shows.
- 10:13Sean McAllister: The final Circus Olay show on the strip to remain closed has been Ka over at MGM Grand, and we finally now have a reopening date for that show.
- 10:23Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 10:24Dayna Roselli: So it's gonna be opening November 24th, so it'll be good to see them back.
- 10:28Dayna Roselli: And if you're not familiar about where it is, it's over at MGM Grand.
- 10:31Dayna Roselli: Big show.
- 10:32Dayna Roselli: I mean, pretty amazing to watch what goes down in Ka.
- 10:37Dayna Roselli: It really is one of those, you know, jaw-dropping shows, and people uh love it.
- 10:42Dayna Roselli: I'm glad to see the the cast and crew will be able to get back to work and return.
- 10:47Sean McAllister: Yeah, and I feel like this is kind of like one of the last pieces to go into the puzzle that says, hey, you know what?
- 10:54Sean McAllister: Vegas really is back.
- 10:56Sean McAllister: All of our shows are back, and it it's a a good sign.
- 11:00Sean McAllister: And you mentioned that um Ka has some moments that are jaw-dropping.
- 11:05Sean McAllister: And there was another jaw-dropping moment that we saw this past week, Dana, where we were talking and you were like, Oh my god, this kind of made your heart skip a few beats.
- 11:13Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I forwarded you the video and I was like, Did you see this whole thing?
- 11:17Dayna Roselli: And it was Chris Angel at the Raiders game, and I didn't watch it live, so when he posted the video, I was like, Holy cow! He's been doing this death-defying stunt for a long time, and it's him being hoisted up in a straitjacket, and he has a certain amount of time to kind of get out and get lowered down.
- 11:36Dayna Roselli: You know, he's upside down.
- 11:37Dayna Roselli: There's certain precautions you have to take, you know, it can be dangerous, you know, being hoisted up upside down.
- 11:43Dayna Roselli: Okay, so he usually does that though, like we've seen it in the theater, and and we've saw it on Oprah, I believe, even um back in the day.
- 11:50Dayna Roselli: And it's incredible.
- 11:52Dayna Roselli: But this time he did it at Allegiant Stadium, and this thing hoi it he was so high.
- 11:58Dayna Roselli: He got hoisted up so high, I was like, OMG.
- 12:03Sean McAllister: I mean, it really was to see him being lifted all the way up into the rafters of Allegiant Stadium.
- 12:11Sean McAllister: I mean, it was I I feel like they uh said it was almost 130 feet in the air or something.
- 12:17Sean McAllister: And and his team even talked about how there were some very tricky rigging things that had to take place in order to make the stunt be pulled off in a safe way, which by the way, Chris got out of the straitjacket, he did his thing and astounded everybody inside of Allegiant Stadium.
- 12:39Sean McAllister: But but yeah, seeing him up that high really, I mean, it was it was like took your breath away.
- 12:46Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 12:46Dayna Roselli: I mean, I knew because he posted the video that everything was gonna be all right.
- 12:49Dayna Roselli: Right, right.
- 12:49Dayna Roselli: But still, I was like, wow, I can only imagine what was going through his mind and heart while he was doing this.
- 12:56Dayna Roselli: Because no matter what, if you do this your whole life, I can only imagine each time, even though you're confident on what you're gonna do, it's gotta be scary.
- 13:03Dayna Roselli: And going that high up, that was insane.
- 13:05Sean McAllister: Well, and I think that he's been injured doing that stunt before, too.
- 13:08Sean McAllister: He's had shoulder injuries doing that stunt.
- 13:11Sean McAllister: Like you mentioned popping blood vessels in his eyes.
- 13:15Sean McAllister: I know that Chris has had that happen to him before, and so like the whites of his eyes will turn all red from that happening.
- 13:22Sean McAllister: So it's not a a stunt to be taken lightly for sure.
- 13:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah, if you get a chance, go to Chris Angel's Instagram.
- 13:29Dayna Roselli: They posted an uh video in the IGT.
- 13:33Dayna Roselli: Check it out.
- 13:33Dayna Roselli: You gotta watch it.
- 13:34Dayna Roselli: It's and watch it, like, don't forward through, like, watch it because it's intense leading up to it.
- 13:39Sean McAllister: Yes, you have to watch in its entirety as it's as it's playing out.
- 13:43Dayna Roselli: All right, Sean, I know you went out to dinner last night.
- 13:45Dayna Roselli: I can tell because you have like kind of a clean shave today, which means you Is that the dead giveaway?
- 13:49Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you did it up.
- 13:51Dayna Roselli: I knew it, I knew it.
- 13:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was your anniversary yesterday, and I know you planned on going to Delilah at the win.
- 13:56Dayna Roselli: I've been a couple times, but you hadn't gotten there yet, and you were dying to go.
- 13:59Dayna Roselli: And so how was it?
- 14:00Sean McAllister: It was great.
- 14:01Sean McAllister: I mean, over the overall impression, I mean, the the place is beautiful.
- 14:07Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's just gorgeous, like old Hollywood 1930s, 20s, 30s vibe, which is perfect, like art deco.
- 14:16Sean McAllister: Um the hospitality there is incredible.
- 14:19Sean McAllister: When we walked up to the hostess stand to check in, she said, Oh my gosh, it's your anniversary, happy anniversary, and then that carried on through all the staff that came over to our table.
- 14:30Sean McAllister: Everybody wished us happy anniversary, which you don't always get when you go to a restaurant and you're celebrating a special occasion, right?
- 14:38Sean McAllister: Like sometimes people remember, sometimes they don't.
- 14:42Sean McAllister: So it was very nice uh for the occasion to have that level of hospitality there.
- 14:49Sean McAllister: The food, incredible.
- 14:50Sean McAllister: We got uh the beef wellington, which is split for two people.
- 14:56Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 14:57Sean McAllister: And the macaroni gratine.
- 15:01Dayna Roselli: It's the best.
- 15:01Sean McAllister: Oh, it's so good.
- 15:03Dayna Roselli: That was my favorite thing on the menu.
- 15:05Sean McAllister: And it's because the way that they uh cook it, bake it, whatever they do to it.
- 15:10Sean McAllister: There's you know that how when you eat macaroni and cheese, some of the best parts are like the crispy parts around the edges.
- 15:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 15:17Sean McAllister: And the way that they do this, every bite has that crispiness and the creaminess and the noodles.
- 15:25Dayna Roselli: It's when I so good.
- 15:27Dayna Roselli: When I went, I think I mentioned this, I was sitting next to Congresswoman Susie Lee.
- 15:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and she and I were not going to eat it because we were trying to be good.
- 15:35Dayna Roselli: We were, you know, the calories, we had already eaten a couple other things, and we took one little, and she was like, pass that over here, and we were just like put it right in the middle of us and just dug in.
- 15:44Dayna Roselli: It was so the best thing.
- 15:46Dayna Roselli: I think she said it's the best thing I've ever had in my life.
- 15:48Dayna Roselli: Like it was so good.
- 15:50Sean McAllister: It is delicious, and so we only had that.
- 15:53Sean McAllister: We didn't get any, you know, soup, salads, starters, or anything because that was more than enough.
- 15:58Sean McAllister: We actually ended up bringing stuff home too.
- 16:01Dayna Roselli: Um wait, do you have that macaroni and cheese in the refrigerator downstairs?
- 16:05Sean McAllister: We ate all the macaroni and cheese.
- 16:07Dayna Roselli: Why are you hiding it out on it?
- 16:08Sean McAllister: We have a little Wellington left over.
- 16:10Dayna Roselli: All right, well, tell me about this.
- 16:11Dayna Roselli: Uh you keep saying teasing this story to me about something about Jay Leno.
- 16:16Sean McAllister: So uh What happened?
- 16:18Dayna Roselli: So we're we're sitting there And I don't know this story, by the way, everyone.
- 16:22Dayna Roselli: He's been holding out.
- 16:23Sean McAllister: And there was this couple that and we'll get to the Jay Leno part in a minute.
- 16:28SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 16:29Sean McAllister: So there was a couple that walked over to the table behind us, and I said to Shane, I was like, oh my gosh, is that Steven Spielberg?
- 16:37Sean McAllister: Oh, talking to these people at the table behind us.
- 16:39Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 16:40Sean McAllister: And we were like, it would make sense for people to go to Delilah because up in the corner of the menu it says no pictures, no video for the discretion of our guests.
- 16:49Sean McAllister: Right.
- 16:49Sean McAllister: And so we're like, wow, that's pretty cool.
- 16:52Sean McAllister: Steven Spielberg is here, and then we look across the restaurant and there's this guy with white hair, and I'm like, and is that Jay Leno?
- 17:02Sean McAllister: And we're looking around, we're like, Holy crap, this is like a kind of a baller situation to have Steven Spielberg and Jay Leno sitting there.
- 17:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah, big powerhouses.
- 17:14Sean McAllister: And and Shane looked across the restaurant, he was like, I don't think that's Jay Leno.
- 17:19Sean McAllister: It looks like him, but that's not Jay Leno.
- 17:22Sean McAllister: And then after we left the restaurant, we were doing some intel on Steven Spielberg because we were like, okay.
- 17:31Sean McAllister: Yeah, like what's the deal?
- 17:32Sean McAllister: Um, and we were looking up a picture of his wife, who's Kate Capshaw from Indiana Jones, you might know.
- 17:41Sean McAllister: Um, but uh the the the wife it I it wasn't them.
- 17:46Sean McAllister: It ended up not being wife.
- 17:47Sean McAllister: No, and it wasn't Steven Spielberg either.
- 17:49Dayna Roselli: Are you starting term ours here?
- 17:51Sean McAllister: But but we were like, was it Celebrity Look-alike night?
- 17:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 17:54Sean McAllister: At Delilah?
- 17:55Sean McAllister: Because we could have sworn that we were being flanked by Steven Spielberg and Jay Leno.
- 18:01Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 18:02Sean McAllister: We weren't, but it was nice to think that.
- 18:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah, maybe they like plant do plants of like, you know, celebrity impersonators and make you feel really old Hollywood.
- 18:11Sean McAllister: Hey, we felt old Hollywood for the time that we believed.
- 18:15Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 18:16Sean McAllister: We believed for for a while, but then, you know, our hopes were dashed.
- 18:20Dayna Roselli: Um, but we were mentioning before that uh that you said John Fogarty stopped by to do kind of a pop-up, right?
- 18:26Dayna Roselli: Not when you were there, but he has a show.
- 18:28Sean McAllister: A couple nights before, right.
- 18:30Sean McAllister: John Fogarty from Creedence Clearwater Revival.
- 18:33Sean McAllister: He has his What's their song?
- 18:34Dayna Roselli: I'm gonna play really dumb because I don't know.
- 18:37Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh, there's like I know uh there's a bad moon on the rise.
- 18:41Sean McAllister: Um also put me in codes.
- 18:44Dayna Roselli: Oh, okay.
- 18:44Dayna Roselli: I know that's don't they play that at baseball games and stuff?
- 18:47Sean McAllister: Yeah, they do.
- 18:48Sean McAllister: Okay, okay.
- 18:49Sean McAllister: I mean, listen, look up Creden's Clearwater Revival.
- 18:52Sean McAllister: They have a ton of hits.
- 18:54Sean McAllister: They played Woodstock, they're like rock legends.
- 18:58Dayna Roselli: Sorry, I I know.
- 18:59Sean McAllister: So John Fogarty has his own show at The Win, and he did a pop-up performance inside Delilah just a couple nights before we were there, and the the our waiter said that it was amazing.
- 19:11Sean McAllister: People loved it.
- 19:12Dayna Roselli: Oh, I bet.
- 19:13Dayna Roselli: That must have been great.
- 19:14Dayna Roselli: There's a lot of that pop-up situation at Delilah, which is why it's exciting to get in and go there for dinner, because you never kind of know what's gonna happen.
- 19:22Sean McAllister: Right.
- 19:22Sean McAllister: I mean, Justin Bieber has been there.
- 19:24Sean McAllister: Andrew Day.
- 19:25Sean McAllister: 50 Cent.
- 19:25Sean McAllister: Yeah, 50 Cent.
- 19:26Sean McAllister: There have been lots of people who've popped up over there.
- 19:29Dayna Roselli: Um, and then you're gonna have a couple tips coming up.
- 19:31Dayna Roselli: Um, so we're gonna hold those.
- 19:32Dayna Roselli: It's how to get in because it's booked all the time.
- 19:34Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 19:35Dayna Roselli: And a couple other little things uh if you have dinner there that Sean wants to mention.
- 19:39Dayna Roselli: So we'll have that in our tip segment in a little bit.
- 19:41Dayna Roselli: Um, speaking of, you know, fun and celebrities and high-end, Paris Hilton celebrated her Bachelorette party over the weekend at Resorts World.
- 19:51Dayna Roselli: And it was actually um a Bachelorette bachelor party in a way, kind of like this combined party, because she was there with her fiance, Carter, and they kind of did like a mixed co-bachelorette ish thing.
- 20:04Dayna Roselli: So they both had their own little separate things and then they came together for some stuff.
- 20:08Dayna Roselli: Um, always fun when Paris is in town.
- 20:10Dayna Roselli: She uh did a whole slew of uh expensive things.
- 20:15Dayna Roselli: So if you want to see the pictures, go to our social media.
- 20:18Dayna Roselli: We posted them on our Twitter account um at Vegas Revealed.
- 20:21Sean McAllister: So obviously a wedding is something to celebrate.
- 20:24Sean McAllister: Something else that we have to celebrate coming up sooner than I'd like to even think about is like the whole holiday season.
- 20:33Sean McAllister: I know.
- 20:34Sean McAllister: It's like already here, it's on us.
- 20:38Sean McAllister: Um, but one of the great parts about the holiday season down on Las Vegas Boulevard is the cosmopolitan covers up their pool and installs an ice rink that overlooks the Las Vegas strip.
- 20:51Sean McAllister: And it really is a cool way to to go out and partake in the festive atmosphere.
- 20:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they have like this 4,200 square foot rooftop skating rink there made of real ice.
- 21:05Dayna Roselli: They have cocktails, they have food, they have a holiday village with uh fire pits, you can make s'mores.
- 21:10Dayna Roselli: Um, they're gonna debut a new dining area called the Chalet, so it'll be like cozy seating areas, communal fire pit.
- 21:16Dayna Roselli: They're gonna have holiday films up there.
- 21:18Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's it's an event, so it's really, really fun.
- 21:21Dayna Roselli: Um, this was a funny like idiot uh TV moment.
- 21:24Dayna Roselli: I probably people say, What is your like have you ever had any bloopers?
- 21:27Dayna Roselli: Or have you ever like this would be my moment of um I'm brunette blonde on TV.
- 21:34Dayna Roselli: Okay?
- 21:35Dayna Roselli: It was New Year's Eve.
- 21:36Dayna Roselli: I was across the street at Planet Hollywood outside, and I was doing a live shot.
- 21:42Dayna Roselli: And during this time, the skating ring's still going on, and they're like, Hey Dana, you know, what's it feel like out there?
- 21:48Dayna Roselli: And I was like, Well, it's really cold, you know, and this and that.
- 21:51Dayna Roselli: And anyway, there it was windy.
- 21:53Dayna Roselli: So, and then I'm like, I saw some snowflakes, and I was like, I mean, I mentioned on air, like, I think it's It's snowing.
- 22:01Dayna Roselli: And the meteorologist came on that was working at the station, and it was like, there's absolutely no way it's snowing.
- 22:08Dayna Roselli: But anyway, um, they they have fake snow.
- 22:13Dayna Roselli: I knew where this was going in the cosmopolitan, and the wind blew, and it blew it was blowing it toward me and from Hollywood, and I saw flakes flying.
- 22:23Dayna Roselli: So I thought it was snowing, so I'm an idiot saying it's snowing on New Year's Eve, which is a big deal in Las Vegas.
- 22:29Dayna Roselli: And the meteorologist was like, there's absolutely no way with the temperatures that that's possible.
- 22:34Dayna Roselli: And so I got totally burned, and then we made fun of it all night long.
- 22:39Dayna Roselli: That was my blonde TV moment of uh probably my entire career.
- 22:43Sean McAllister: That is hilarious.
- 22:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was bad.
- 22:46Sean McAllister: Where else could you be uh doing a New Year's Eve broadcast and have fake snow falling and uh blowing towards you?
- 22:53Dayna Roselli: I didn't think it would reach me across the street, but apparently it did.
- 22:56Dayna Roselli: There was a big gust in the street.
- 22:57Dayna Roselli: That's hilarious.
- 22:58Sean McAllister: That's good.
- 22:59Sean McAllister: Oh wow.
- 22:59Dayna Roselli: Well, I really did see it.
- 23:00Dayna Roselli: It wasn't like I was making it up.
- 23:02Sean McAllister: So that's something festive to look forward to for the whole Christmas season.
- 23:06Sean McAllister: Before we get there, of course we have Halloween.
- 23:10Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 23:10Dayna Roselli: And listen, you either really get into Halloween or you don't.
- 23:15Dayna Roselli: And some people middle of the road for their kids or they slightly dress up and that.
- 23:19Dayna Roselli: But some people just love to really do it up.
- 23:21Dayna Roselli: But we were really excited because we got asked to judge a contest and we're like, okay, we're in because this sounds fun.
- 23:28Dayna Roselli: We are super honored to be uh two of the celebrity judges for the Vegas Vicky costume contest up in downtown Las Vegas at Circa.
- 23:38Sean McAllister: So if you don't know, Vegas Vicky is one of those big vintage neon signs that stood for years above Fremont Street.
- 23:48Sean McAllister: There's Vegas Vic.
- 23:49Sean McAllister: He's the big cowboy who waves at you, and Vegas Vicky.
- 23:53Sean McAllister: She's the cowgirl in the white outfit with the boots and her leg kicks.
- 23:57Sean McAllister: Well, she was taken down and refurbished a few years back, and she now has a new permanent home inside of Circa Las Vegas.
- 24:08Sean McAllister: That's the new uh resort at Fremont Street and uh Main Street in downtown.
- 24:15Sean McAllister: So they're having this whole costume contest at Circa for people to come in their best Vegas Vicky outfit.
- 24:24Dayna Roselli: And listen, you're not winning like a bag of candy or anything with this contest, folks.
- 24:28Dayna Roselli: Get this.
- 24:29Dayna Roselli: The winner is taking home ten thousand dollars.
- 24:32Sean McAllister: That's a legit prize.
- 24:33Dayna Roselli: Holy so with the pressure is on.
- 24:35Dayna Roselli: I mean, we need to be really, I mean, because people are gonna put some really uh some time, effort, and thought into these costumes.
- 24:42Sean McAllister: It is, and I can't wait to see what people put together because there has been time.
- 24:47Sean McAllister: They announced this contest, I don't know, a a little while back.
- 24:51Sean McAllister: Um, so people who are serious about it have really had the time to put together some really creative outfits to honor Vegas Vicky.
- 25:01Sean McAllister: Uh, I like to say that she had a knee replacement, and now that she's kicking again.
- 25:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah, she's kicking again.
- 25:06Dayna Roselli: Uh, it's a great sign.
- 25:07Dayna Roselli: So we look forward to that.
- 25:08Dayna Roselli: If you're interested, come see us.
- 25:10Dayna Roselli: Halloween.
- 25:10Dayna Roselli: We'll be there from nine to midnight.
- 25:12Sean McAllister: Yeah, Halloween night.
- 25:13Sean McAllister: And then I believe uh the prize is awarded at 1 a.m.
- 25:17Dayna Roselli: Mm-hmm.
- 25:17Dayna Roselli: 1 a.m.
- 25:18Sean McAllister: Follow our tweets.
- 25:19Sean McAllister: $19,000 prize.
- 25:21Dayna Roselli: All right, let's get to some tips.
- 25:26Sean McAllister: So let's start tips, Dana, by talking about our trip to Circus Circus.
- 25:30Sean McAllister: We mentioned that that we were heading over there to go to the steakhouse.
- 25:34Sean McAllister: We mentioned that in last week's episode.
- 25:37Sean McAllister: And we did.
- 25:38Dayna Roselli: We did.
- 25:38Dayna Roselli: And it was great.
- 25:39Dayna Roselli: Listen, I want to talk about the steakhouse before we get there, because the steakhouse is my favorite steakhouse.
- 25:44Dayna Roselli: That's why we went there.
- 25:45Dayna Roselli: Sean was giving me a little birthday gift.
- 25:47Dayna Roselli: Um, but listen, we found coin slots.
- 25:50Dayna Roselli: You, as soon as we got there, you were like, Dana, guess what I found?
- 25:54Dayna Roselli: And and and you were like, they still have coin slots here at Circus Circus.
- 25:57Dayna Roselli: I was like, they do?
- 25:58Dayna Roselli: So we ate dinner, we went over after, but it's the kind of coins that are like dollar coins.
- 26:02Dayna Roselli: You have to put your 20 in and then the coins come out.
- 26:04Dayna Roselli: But the the fact that you can play a slot machine and hear the coins drop, it was so great.
- 26:10Sean McAllister: Yeah, you so you have to get tokens to play the machines.
- 26:14Sean McAllister: But I mean, that was the thing.
- 26:15Sean McAllister: We were walking around before dinner, just I haven't been over to Circus Circus in a long time, and we were walking around, and all of a sudden we were like, wait a second, are those coins clinking?
- 26:29Sean McAllister: Like, that's a different sound.
- 26:30Sean McAllister: Usually it's the digital sounds and thing, other noises, but it was the clink, clink, clink, clink, clink of coins.
- 26:36Sean McAllister: Right.
- 26:36Sean McAllister: We're like, oh my gosh, we have to go and see where this is coming from.
- 26:40Dayna Roselli: I loved it.
- 26:41Dayna Roselli: So we played after, and it is fun.
- 26:43Dayna Roselli: When you win, you even if you win five, five bucks, you hear it clink, clink, clink, clink, clink, and it's just more exciting, right?
- 26:50Sean McAllister: It is, it really is.
- 26:51Dayna Roselli: I mean, I love it.
- 26:52Dayna Roselli: I know we get rid of it because it's difficult and you gotta touch and it makes your hands dirty and all that.
- 26:56Dayna Roselli: But I mean, I don't know why more places don't kind of have that as a highlight.
- 27:00Dayna Roselli: Because I mean, listen, growing up in the the Rochester area and my family being from New Jersey, we used to go to Atlantic City all the time, and I'll never forget.
- 27:08Dayna Roselli: My grandma would have her bucket with her quarters in there, and she would go right, she loved it.
- 27:13Dayna Roselli: And I remember it was just so much fun when you won.
- 27:16Dayna Roselli: And even if you won a small amount, it was exciting because you heard it.
- 27:20Sean McAllister: Yeah, it is so much fun.
- 27:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 27:22Sean McAllister: Um, and another quick note from Circus Circus uh if you go down into the arcade, the arcade is almost completely all claw games.
- 27:31Sean McAllister: It is, and if you go to uh Dana's Instagram account, you can see our entire experience with the claw games we played.
- 27:41Sean McAllister: Go and see uh how it ended up.
- 27:44Dayna Roselli: Anything we won at the slot machine, we threw away at the claw machine trying to win a stuffed avocado.
- 27:49Dayna Roselli: True, true.
- 27:50Dayna Roselli: It's uh intense moment.
- 27:52Dayna Roselli: Talk about a sport.
- 27:53Dayna Roselli: We were there for seven minutes going for that thing.
- 27:55Dayna Roselli: Um, okay, and now let's talk about the steakhouse.
- 27:58Dayna Roselli: Because, you know, people love to to fight with me about this on Twitter.
- 28:01Dayna Roselli: Not really fight, but they come back with like, well, I like this place better, and I just love the steakhouse at Circus Circus, and I continue to say it's my favorite steakhouse in town, and it stays true even after our last visit.
- 28:13Dayna Roselli: So you guys had never been.
- 28:14Dayna Roselli: Uh, your mom was with us, Shane was there, and um what did you think, first of all?
- 28:20Dayna Roselli: Because I I kind of hyped it up, and sometimes, you know, it doesn't live up to I thought it was great.
- 28:27Sean McAllister: I mean, I just love the whole vibe.
- 28:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 28:30Sean McAllister: I I'm really into like the old dark uh steakhouses with the old booths and you know, new restaurants are are great too, but I I love the old vibe of the steakhouses like that.
- 28:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and it has the green, you know, lamps all around with the green hue, and something else you mentioned, you're like, I love the in the middle of the restaurant where they're cooking.
- 28:54Sean McAllister: Yeah, they have the big grill where they grill all the steaks.
- 28:57Sean McAllister: It's kind of an open grill right in the middle of the the restaurant, which is really cool.
- 29:02Sean McAllister: And as you're walking in, they have the old uh aging room where all the cuts of meat are are hanging and out aging.
- 29:12Sean McAllister: So it really is a whole experience from the second you walk in.
- 29:16Dayna Roselli: And it was busy that night too.
- 29:17Dayna Roselli: We weren't sure because we went on a Wednesday night.
- 29:19Dayna Roselli: We thought, okay, well, maybe we'll be the only ones there, but no, obviously everyone feels the same because there were a lot of people there.
- 29:26Dayna Roselli: Um, I wanted to point out though, I guess basically my tip is a lot of times people ask, like, what do you love about it?
- 29:32Dayna Roselli: So I kind of laid it out in one of my tweets, and a lot of people were responding.
- 29:35Dayna Roselli: So I thought maybe just to give people a better idea.
- 29:38Dayna Roselli: Here's what you get, like, if you get like a petite filet, okay?
- 29:42Dayna Roselli: And even your husband was saying to me, like, do you think that will be enough?
- 29:45Dayna Roselli: And I was like, Yes, it's gonna be enough because it's a really nice piece of meat.
- 29:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and then you get all this.
- 29:51Dayna Roselli: So, okay,$67 for the petite filet, and then you get a vegetable with it, which that night was asparagus, and then you get a potato or rice.
- 30:01Dayna Roselli: You can get the garlic mashed potatoes, uh I got a uh baked potato or you can get rice.
- 30:06Dayna Roselli: The baked potato is great, by the way.
- 30:08Dayna Roselli: And then you get a soup or salad, okay?
- 30:11Dayna Roselli: And the both of them very, you know, big portions, and the soup is this black bean soup where they give you a little side of sherry and then chopped onions and you pour it in, and it's a big kind of bowl of soup.
- 30:22Dayna Roselli: All that and a bread basket, Sean, for$67.
- 30:25Dayna Roselli: I mean, I don't think you can it it's not cheap, but it's not that is a great price for all that.
- 30:31Sean McAllister: Well, if you go to some other steakhouses, you're paying that just for your cut of meat.
- 30:37Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 30:38Sean McAllister: And no sides.
- 30:39Sean McAllister: So, I mean, that is an that is a great deal when you're talking about going to a steakhouse.
- 30:45Dayna Roselli: Didn't you got the baked potato too with like the didn't it come with like bacon and sour crumbs?
- 30:50Sean McAllister: They bring you a whole like this whole display of all the sides.
- 30:54Sean McAllister: Any side that you could want to put on your baked potato is there, and it's so good.
- 30:59Sean McAllister: And I also got the French onion soup.
- 31:01Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah, that's right.
- 31:02Dayna Roselli: You upgraded.
- 31:02Dayna Roselli: Which was delicious.
- 31:03Sean McAllister: I upgraded for the French onion soup a couple bucks.
- 31:06Sean McAllister: It was so good.
- 31:07Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 31:08Sean McAllister: So good.
- 31:08Sean McAllister: And the stringy cheese.
- 31:10Dayna Roselli: It's delicious.
- 31:11Dayna Roselli: I mean, I I think we just loved our experience, ambiance, and everything, and it's just why I keep saying people come back at me and they go, what about the golden steer down the road?
- 31:19Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, I've gone there, it was an okay experience.
- 31:22Dayna Roselli: Uh, people love it.
- 31:23Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 31:24Dayna Roselli: When I went, maybe it wasn't the best experience, and I need to try it again.
- 31:28Dayna Roselli: But still, there's something about the steakhouse that I like better.
- 31:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 31:31Dayna Roselli: Um, and there's a lot of other places people were mentioning.
- 31:34Dayna Roselli: And have you been here and you've been there?
- 31:35Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, Yeah, there are millions of gr great steakhouses in Las Vegas, but the steakhouse is still my favorite.
- 31:41Dayna Roselli: So check it out.
- 31:42Dayna Roselli: Um, meat's great, staff is great, super nice.
- 31:45Dayna Roselli: Um, just love it so much.
- 31:47Sean McAllister: All right, and then my tip of the week, Dana, uh, going back to Delilah, which we talked about earlier in the episode, uh, and we have talked before about how difficult it is to get a reservation for Delilah.
- 32:01Sean McAllister: And as uh we went in there, we were talking with the uh hostess who showed us to our table, and she was like, Oh, are you guys locals?
- 32:10Sean McAllister: Like, yeah.
- 32:11Sean McAllister: She's like, Well, did you know that you don't really need a reservation to come and eat here?
- 32:17Sean McAllister: What?
- 32:17Sean McAllister: No news to me.
- 32:18Sean McAllister: What?
- 32:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 32:20Sean McAllister: Apparently, the bar in the main dining room is open seating, and they have a full menu at the bar.
- 32:28Dayna Roselli: Good to know.
- 32:29Sean McAllister: So if you can get in there and find a seat at the bar, you have a seat without a reservation.
- 32:37Sean McAllister: Now they do, I mean, this is one of those tips where I almost like kind of want to be selfish and just keep it to myself, but I'm not gonna do that.
- 32:44Sean McAllister: I'm not in a selfish mood, I'm in a giving mood.
- 32:46Sean McAllister: Oh wow.
- 32:47Sean McAllister: So here's they suggest that you get there at 5 30 when the doors open, so that you are essentially guaranteed a seat at the bar in the dining room.
- 32:58Sean McAllister: And 5 30, I mean, yeah, it's an early dinner.
- 33:01Dayna Roselli: That is.
- 33:01Dayna Roselli: I mean, like, that's the time my dad goes to dinner.
- 33:04Sean McAllister: I mean, that's a time that's my ideal dinner time.
- 33:07Dayna Roselli: It's still light out.
- 33:09Sean McAllister: Well, it won't be soon.
- 33:11Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 33:12Sean McAllister: We're gonna be setting our clocks, we're gonna be falling back, and it's gonna be dark at like four o'clock.
- 33:16Sean McAllister: So five thirty will be prime dinner time.
- 33:19Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's it's fine if you just like maybe like chill for a minute, maybe have like a glass of wine, and then you can't.
- 33:24Sean McAllister: Go in for a glass of wine, even have you know, an appetizer or two, get a salad.
- 33:30Sean McAllister: True.
- 33:30Sean McAllister: I mean, by the time you sit down, have wine, have a salad, like you're getting into like an hour of time there, so then it gets into dinner time.
- 33:40Dayna Roselli: It's true, it's true.
- 33:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, I'm kind of joking, but yeah it yeah, it's a good time.
- 33:44Dayna Roselli: And for some people, they like to go out after or they're going to a show, so it's actually perfect to get there at 5 30.
- 33:49Dayna Roselli: Yeah, then they can go to that show after that might start at 7 38.
- 33:52Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 33:53Sean McAllister: Uh, but there is a lounge that you walk into uh right off of the casino floor inside of Delilah, and that overlooks the bar down in the dining room.
- 34:02Sean McAllister: So you can go in there and check out the situation and see if there's any open spots.
- 34:07Dayna Roselli: It is a cool space.
- 34:09Dayna Roselli: It's so it's great.
- 34:10Dayna Roselli: And it has a patio too, just in case you're wondering.
- 34:12Dayna Roselli: We talked about that before.
- 34:13Dayna Roselli: I have some people that I know that stayed on the patio, they're going, Oh, I wish I would have stayed inside inside.
- 34:19Dayna Roselli: Um, but yet it was great on the patio too.
- 34:21Dayna Roselli: So maybe, you know, go twice and and try the patio sometime.
- 34:24Dayna Roselli: Perfect weather for it right now.
- 34:26Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 34:26Sean McAllister: It is, you know, you're gonna be paying a little higher price for a meal there, but it's totally worth it.
- 34:33Sean McAllister: Love it.
- 34:33Sean McAllister: Love it.
- 34:34Dayna Roselli: You said request um ice water instead of if if you don't care about bottled water, right?
- 34:39Sean McAllister: Right.
- 34:40Sean McAllister: If you don't care about the the water that you're getting at the table, um, when they come over and offer, they offer you flat or sparkling water.
- 34:49Sean McAllister: Um, which, you know, that's six bucks.
- 34:53Sean McAllister: That's a lot.
- 34:53Sean McAllister: That's another six bucks on your bill.
- 34:55Dayna Roselli: I'm an ice water girl.
- 34:56Dayna Roselli: Whenever they try and give me the bottle, I'm like, just give me the ice water.
- 34:59Sean McAllister: So we went for we got a bottle of flat water to start.
- 35:02Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 35:03Sean McAllister: And then they came over, they said, Do you want another bottle of water?
- 35:05Sean McAllister: We're like, Yeah, no, that's fine.
- 35:07Sean McAllister: So then they started coming over and filling our glass with a pitcher of ice water.
- 35:11Sean McAllister: And we're like, Oh, so you had ice water the whole time.
- 35:14Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 35:15Sean McAllister: So, word to the wise, just ask for ice water when that happens.
- 35:21Sean McAllister: And if you are celebrating a special occasion, a birthday, an anniversary, make sure you let them know when you're booking.
- 35:27Sean McAllister: Um, because more than likely they will kind of toss in a free little bite-sized dessert um if you don't order anything.
- 35:36Sean McAllister: Which we did not, and we got a little chocolatey raspberry delight.
- 35:40Sean McAllister: It was great.
- 35:41Sean McAllister: Great.
- 35:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it sounds like a good, good time.
