- 0:06Speaker 1: I am so excited, Gabe. But because my boyfriend Mikey
- 0:12Speaker 1: is officially moving to Fargo so we can be together
- 0:17Speaker 1: and no longer long distance. He's literally on the road
- 0:22Speaker 1: right now, driving in his Tacoma, which matches your tacoma,
- 0:26Speaker 1: that's right.
- 0:27Speaker 2: And he's very excited.
- 0:28Speaker 1: To meet you, Gabe, and you'll have your own romantic
- 0:31Speaker 1: thing going on once he gets here. But I'm just
- 0:34Speaker 1: I'm super excited and I can't stop talking about it.
- 0:38Speaker 2: I'm so upset.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Oh boy, can she not stop talking about it? Let
- 0:42Speaker 3: me tell you, I'm.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Just kidding what I feel.
- 0:45Speaker 1: I'm just the more I talk about, you know, him
- 0:48Speaker 1: and me and our relationship, I'm like, oh my gosh,
- 0:51Speaker 1: are we like one of those gross, like overly romantic
- 0:56Speaker 1: couples or is it fine?
- 0:58Speaker 2: Like are we romantic? Or are we revolting? Essentially?
- 1:04Speaker 4: And it's almost like, and are you the problem? Are
- 1:07Speaker 4: you not?
- 1:08Speaker 5: Well?
- 1:08Speaker 1: I did want to ask you, Gabe, because you are
- 1:12Speaker 1: the resident long term relationship person here. You've been married
- 1:18Speaker 1: to your wife for almost two years now, right, yeah,
- 1:21Speaker 1: and you've been together September? Wow, September and you've been
- 1:27Speaker 1: together for how long?
- 1:28Speaker 2: Eight years?
- 1:29Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 1:29Speaker 3: I think we're getting close to ten. Nice, I don't
- 1:32Speaker 3: know if it's nine off the texture. Okay, Now, I don't.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Know if I should be coming to you asking this,
- 1:38Speaker 1: but I did want to know. I wanted to get
- 1:40Speaker 1: your take on whether Mikey and I as a couple
- 1:44Speaker 1: are romantic or revolting.
- 1:46Speaker 4: Oh so something like maybe like this.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Or yes, yes, I want to know. Okay, So here's
- 1:57Speaker 2: the first thing.
- 1:58Speaker 4: So am I the judge, jury and the execute exactly?
- 2:00Speaker 2: But also you listening, I want your take?
- 2:04Speaker 1: Text us call us seven O one two eight O
- 2:06Speaker 1: one nine eight seven. Do you think me and my
- 2:08Speaker 1: guy are romantic or revolting? We have matching headbands to
- 2:18Speaker 1: push our hair back when we wash our faces. Is
- 2:21Speaker 1: that romantic or revolt?
- 2:24Speaker 4: God?
- 2:25Speaker 2: What's wrong with that? I think that's sweet.
- 2:29Speaker 3: That's like if you have matching pajamas that you wear
- 2:33Speaker 3: on like a Tuesday. It's one thing around the holidays
- 2:36Speaker 3: or Christmas or Okay, so Tuesday in April you got
- 2:41Speaker 3: matching headbands?
- 2:43Speaker 4: Okay, fine, kind of cute? Gross, all right.
- 2:46Speaker 1: We mail each other physical love letters, but when we're together,
- 2:52Speaker 1: we have a notebook where we write love notes back.
- 2:54Speaker 2: And oh okay, I'm surprised.
- 2:59Speaker 3: I think that, Well, you kind of have done the
- 3:01Speaker 3: long distance things, so mailing letters is very romantic as
- 3:04Speaker 3: opposed to just.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Who text?
- 3:09Speaker 2: Okay, all right, good.
- 3:11Speaker 1: When we put condiments on our sandwiches or our burgers,
- 3:15Speaker 1: we spell our initials on.
- 3:16Speaker 4: The That is gross.
- 3:26Speaker 2: I think it's cute. Oh you're gonna hate this.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Then literally we have a picture like framed of our
- 3:34Speaker 1: initials on like burger patties.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I'll be sure to hide that one when you come
- 3:41Speaker 2: visit the house.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Go and then we hold hands everywhere we go, no
- 3:47Speaker 1: matter what.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Okay, all right, I'm a handholding guy when the opportunity strikes.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Good walking around to Macy's or something.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, we're gonna be so cute when we're double.
- 4:00Speaker 4: I'm not going.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Do you have a little victory the reschedule the grand opening.
- 4:11Speaker 3: That's like a little victory for the FM area in general?
- 4:14Speaker 4: What about you and.
- 4:15Speaker 1: My boyfriend Mikey is quite literally right now on the
- 4:20Speaker 1: road driving with everything he owns to move to Fargo.
- 4:24Speaker 2: So he can be with me. I'm very excited.
- 4:28Speaker 1: That's like a big victory, not just a little one.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Gabe, I had a funny joke for you, But you
- 4:36Speaker 3: know I don't want to ruin your little victory. I
- 4:37Speaker 3: was gonna say, like, what's the victory part for him?
- 4:41Speaker 4: Wow?
- 4:43Speaker 2: You know what I will say.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I think he is equal parts excited for us to
- 4:48Speaker 1: no longer be long distance, yeah, and for you and
- 4:51Speaker 1: him to finally become romantic.
- 4:54Speaker 4: I have thought of.
- 4:55Speaker 3: So many Instagram reels with Mikey and all I can
- 4:58Speaker 3: hear in the background is the people.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Let me tell you about my bell.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, we have to make that a video
- 5:06Speaker 1: for social media. You and him on your like broad date,
- 5:09Speaker 1: going golfing, riding your bicycles, playing chess, playing guitar.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Oh, you guys will be so cute.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Yes, I'm looking forward to him making it here as well,
- 5:18Speaker 3: nice and safe and sound. Yeah, all right, my little victory.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Yesterday I took Winona, which is our dog, on a
- 5:26Speaker 3: walk and I knew I was playing with fire a
- 5:28Speaker 3: little bit, and we were able to just get the
- 5:33Speaker 3: walk in before it kind of started raining, or I
- 5:36Speaker 3: wouldn't call like a full rain, but rain enough to
- 5:38Speaker 3: be annoying. And right as I kind of finished our loop,
- 5:43Speaker 3: which I was trying to do rather quickly, the rain,
- 5:45Speaker 3: and the sprinkles started to come down right as I
- 5:48Speaker 3: like unlocked the truck. So we just wown because I
- 5:51Speaker 3: feel so bad. You know, she looks forward to well,
- 5:53Speaker 3: at least I hope she does look forward to one
- 5:56Speaker 3: if every time I get home she's like, God, dang it,
- 5:58Speaker 3: I gotta call on this walk. At least I hope
- 6:01Speaker 3: she looks forward to that every day. So I really
- 6:04Speaker 3: do feel guilty and bad when she, for whatever reason
- 6:07Speaker 3: can't go because of the weather, right, and so I
- 6:10Speaker 3: always try to, you know, get at least the walk
- 6:12Speaker 3: in with her, and to be able to do that
- 6:15Speaker 3: before it started raining.
- 6:16Speaker 4: It was a very very little victory. Yes.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Also, if you.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Ever have a little victory you want to share with us,
- 6:22Speaker 1: we want to hear it. Tell the fm Aria your
- 6:24Speaker 1: little victory call us seven one two eight one nine.
- 6:31Speaker 3: I learned something pretty interesting that I wanted to share
- 6:33Speaker 3: with you here this morning about money. And it's not
- 6:37Speaker 3: necessarily about how much you make that correlates with happiness. Now,
- 6:42Speaker 3: I would argue I have not once in my life
- 6:45Speaker 3: seen someone with a personal chef a Yatnajetski who's not
- 6:48Speaker 3: doing pretty.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Well, Not.
- 6:52Speaker 3: One time. It definitely happens. But in my life, I
- 6:55Speaker 3: have not witnessed this phenomenon.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Right, I think the key to happiness is I don't care.
- 7:02Speaker 4: Right. But supposedly that's not exactly true.
- 7:04Speaker 3: And we've all heard that people who save regularly and
- 7:09Speaker 3: pay off credit cards on time score significantly higher on
- 7:13Speaker 3: mental health assessments regardless of your income level. Well, that
- 7:18Speaker 3: would make total sense. You can tell when someone's a
- 7:22Speaker 3: little behind on a bill, and this is not an
- 7:23Speaker 3: insult anybody, but you can tell when someone's a little
- 7:25Speaker 3: behind on their bills when their phone rings and it's
- 7:28Speaker 3: a number they don't know, and they ignore it or
- 7:30Speaker 3: send it straight to voicemail.
- 7:31Speaker 4: That's funny. Yah, you've got nothing to worry about. You
- 7:33Speaker 4: just hello.
- 7:34Speaker 2: No, I never answer the phone in general, I answer
- 7:38Speaker 2: all of them.
- 7:40Speaker 4: That's funny, but it is kind of funny.
- 7:42Speaker 2: But no, you're right. You're right.
- 7:43Speaker 1: If you're financially stressed because you're behind on something you
- 7:47Speaker 1: don't it's bad for.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Your mental health.
- 7:50Speaker 4: I get that. Yeah, but it's.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Hard to save money.
- 7:53Speaker 3: It's so hard, especially when you get behind. Once you're behind,
- 7:57Speaker 3: it is so hard to dig yourself out of it. Yeah,
- 8:01Speaker 3: So once you get out of it. Your goal should
- 8:03Speaker 3: always be to stay there for it, yea, for as
- 8:05Speaker 3: long as you possibly can. Now, obviously things happen, accidents, emergencies, whatever,
- 8:10Speaker 3: So it's not like, you know, just a fail safe system, right,
- 8:15Speaker 3: But we wanted to know in twenty twenty five, the
- 8:19Speaker 3: times of trying to build that financial portfolio. What are
- 8:24Speaker 3: some little things you are doing to save money? Seven
- 8:27Speaker 3: oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven Is
- 8:30Speaker 3: there anything you're doing, Angie, just to cut back a
- 8:33Speaker 3: little bit.
- 8:33Speaker 1: I stopped getting avocado toast and now I have a
- 8:36Speaker 1: down payment for a house. No, but that's what everybody
- 8:40Speaker 1: two am inf Yes, that's what like that was the
- 8:42Speaker 1: big thing is like millennials need to stop buying avocado
- 8:46Speaker 1: toast and they could buy a house instead, which is
- 8:48Speaker 1: fully not real, but I will say I have not.
- 8:52Speaker 1: This is actually by accident, but it's worked out. I
- 8:56Speaker 1: when I moved here three months ago, I didn't bring
- 9:00Speaker 1: my coffee maker and it was a cr rig and
- 9:03Speaker 1: you know, the pods are so expensive and so between
- 9:08Speaker 1: that and then always going to like Starbucks to get
- 9:12Speaker 1: a hot SOI latte extra hot, I was spending a
- 9:17Speaker 1: lot of money on coffee and I didn't bring my
- 9:21Speaker 1: coffee maker, and there's not a Starbucks as conveniently located
- 9:26Speaker 1: near me as there was back when I lived in Washington,
- 9:30Speaker 1: And so I've saved a lot of money by just
- 9:33Speaker 1: drinking instant coffee instead of Oh and also, we have
- 9:37Speaker 1: a coffee maker here at the station, and this is
- 9:41Speaker 1: really where I need the coffee the most since we're
- 9:43Speaker 1: up so early. So that's how I've saved some money. Now,
- 9:46Speaker 1: the caveat to that is that me saving money that
- 9:49Speaker 1: way just means that I spend it on clothes. Oh sure, priorities, Yeah, priority,
- 9:54Speaker 1: So I'm not really saving so much as I'm just
- 9:57Speaker 1: allowing transferring where I'm spending my money.
- 10:01Speaker 3: What about you, Gabe, Well, I'll be on one hundred
- 10:04Speaker 3: percent honest with you. I have done absolutely zero. I
- 10:07Speaker 3: am out here spending trying to stimulate this eccoonomy handedly
- 10:12Speaker 3: seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 10:14Speaker 3: What are some things you've done to maybe and I'm
- 10:17Speaker 3: just kidding, what are some things you've done to maybe
- 10:20Speaker 3: save some money here in twenty twenty five April?
- 10:22Speaker 4: What about you?
- 10:23Speaker 5: I gave a takeout and now I cook every meal,
- 10:26Speaker 5: even when.
- 10:26Speaker 6: All I have is just Rice and vibe.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I save money, but I lost a little joy.
- 10:32Speaker 2: I love it Rice and vibes.
- 10:36Speaker 4: That's right.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Yeah, that's like when you wake up and you really
- 10:38Speaker 3: want breakfast and you just eat air.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Yeah, that's saving money and Truman the Wasted Life.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Yeah, good time there. All right? What about you, John,
- 10:48Speaker 4: I gave.
- 10:48Speaker 5: Up my comic book collection.
- 10:49Speaker 1: I mean I still have it, but I just stopped
- 10:52Speaker 1: buying new one.
- 10:53Speaker 6: I'll probably go back to it when I have enough
- 10:54Speaker 6: money saved up to actually be comfortable.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Yeah, so John's not saving the time. Today's Variety, Big
- 11:03Speaker 3: ninety eight point seven. It's Gabe and Angie. We should
- 11:06Speaker 3: have a pretty nice day today. Here some sunshine and
- 11:09Speaker 3: a high of eighty one. Now, Father's Day was this
- 11:12Speaker 3: past Sunday? When you test sent your sweet loving dad
- 11:17Speaker 3: heartfelt happy Father's Day message?
- 11:19Speaker 4: Did he respond with a thumbs up?
- 11:21Speaker 3: No?
- 11:22Speaker 1: Because he was in the grave.
- 11:24Speaker 2: All right, I'm sorry.
- 11:30Speaker 1: I didn't mean to make it awkward, except for I
- 11:33Speaker 1: totally meant to make it awkward.
- 11:36Speaker 3: We all know someone who is not great at, you know,
- 11:39Speaker 3: showing emotional stuff.
- 11:41Speaker 4: Whether it's a friend, maybe your brother, maybe it's your dad.
- 11:45Speaker 3: In a new poll, sixty six percent of people, that's
- 11:49Speaker 3: two out of three said a thumbs up from dad
- 11:54Speaker 3: was a sign of both love and support.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Oh wow, not like that easy, the bar is on
- 12:01Speaker 1: the ground.
- 12:03Speaker 4: I don't know, like and I love you.
- 12:04Speaker 1: No, but a nice thumbs up, A nice thumbs up.
- 12:08Speaker 3: I told you this information to tell you this story
- 12:10Speaker 3: from this past Sunday. My wife texted my father, so
- 12:14Speaker 3: her dad in law, father in law, just a nice
- 12:17Speaker 3: heartfelt happy Father's Day.
- 12:19Speaker 4: Love you.
- 12:19Speaker 3: I appreciate it. You've always been there. YadA YadA, YadA,
- 12:22Speaker 3: YadA YadA. Yeah, Greg glitten this man, my father responded
- 12:27Speaker 3: to my loving, adorable wife, whom he likes better than me. Yeah,
- 12:32Speaker 3: responded with the double thumbs up emoji. Wow, Hey, thanks, Hey,
- 12:39Speaker 3: I appreciate that. Have a good Sunday. I mean he
- 12:42Speaker 3: hit her with the double pistol shooter thumbs up.
- 12:47Speaker 4: I think that's great.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Though it wasn't just one thumbs up. The fact that
- 12:52Speaker 2: it was too.
- 12:53Speaker 1: That means right that he really loves her or he
- 12:55Speaker 1: just accidentally hit the button twice.
- 12:57Speaker 3: I don't know, cheepers, what is your wife think? She
- 13:03Speaker 3: called me on the phone and was laughing. She was like,
- 13:05Speaker 3: your dad is something and I was like what. And
- 13:08Speaker 3: when she got home she told me that what she
- 13:10Speaker 3: sent to him and what he responded with, and I
- 13:13Speaker 3: was just like, man, dad, what are we doing here?
- 13:16Speaker 2: Well?
- 13:17Speaker 1: I respect it. The problem We have someone who wrote
- 13:26Speaker 1: into us and she'd like to stay anonymous. Oh all right, because.
- 13:34Speaker 2: That is not her name.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Not her name, that's not for the purposes of this story.
- 13:38Speaker 1: This is her name, Rachel, and she wants to be
- 13:41Speaker 1: anonymous because this is some juicy family drama. All right, hey, guys,
- 13:47Speaker 1: please keep me anonymous. I need your take on some
- 13:50Speaker 1: family drama for your am. I the problems segment. I
- 13:54Speaker 1: got married young, just twenty and we had a super small,
- 13:58Speaker 1: simple wedding. We were broke but in love and it
- 14:01Speaker 1: was perfect for us. My cousin helped a lot with decorations,
- 14:06Speaker 1: and I was so grateful.
- 14:07Speaker 2: I paid her, praised her in my speech the whole thing.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Now backstory. She had a massive, pinterest worthy wedding a
- 14:15Speaker 1: few months before mine, but she got divorced four years ago.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Ever since, she constantly makes fun of my wedding. Every
- 14:24Speaker 1: time we're together. She mocks how small it was, the venue,
- 14:27Speaker 1: my bridesmaid's even my husband's family.
- 14:30Speaker 2: I usually let it slide, but.
- 14:32Speaker 1: At a big Father's Day gathering, she started again, this
- 14:36Speaker 1: time in front of her new boyfriend, and I finally snapped.
- 14:40Speaker 2: I said, well, at least I'm still married. Now.
- 14:45Speaker 1: My whole family says I went too far and hit
- 14:49Speaker 1: below the belt, but no one has ever said a
- 14:51Speaker 1: word to her about the way she talks to me.
- 14:54Speaker 1: So am I the problem. Listen, girl, I think you
- 15:02Speaker 1: should just have swallowed your pride because clearly this girl
- 15:08Speaker 1: is going through it. Your cousin is a miserable hater
- 15:13Speaker 1: because she got divorced.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Just let her have it. She's never gonna find real
- 15:17Speaker 2: love ever again, and that's why she has to hate
- 15:20Speaker 2: on you.
- 15:21Speaker 1: And as for your family like getting upset, maybe they're
- 15:24Speaker 1: worried that she's gonna do something drastic because her life
- 15:29Speaker 1: is so sad and pathetic. Jee Okay, as I'm saying this,
- 15:36Speaker 1: I feel like maybe I'm sounding a little too harsh,
- 15:39Speaker 1: but that's the only thing I can think of. Like
- 15:42Speaker 1: the she said, ever since she the cousin got divorced,
- 15:46Speaker 1: then she's been mocking the wedding and whatever. Right, she's
- 15:49Speaker 1: clearly just trying to feel better about herself because her
- 15:53Speaker 1: marriage ended up in flames.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Yeah, hurt people hurt people now people hurt people. Yeah,
- 15:58Speaker 3: so she's obviously very sad.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Yeah, so she's very sad.
- 16:01Speaker 1: So I'm not saying that you're the problem, Rachel, but
- 16:05Speaker 1: I do think that you should cut her some slack,
- 16:08Speaker 1: because clearly her life is in shambles. And I know
- 16:11Speaker 1: that she has this new boyfriend. But like the fact
- 16:14Speaker 1: that in front of the new boyfriend she started up
- 16:17Speaker 1: again about your wedding and your whatever. That clearly means
- 16:21Speaker 1: it's not going that great with the boyfriend, because if
- 16:23Speaker 1: she was secure in that relationship, she wouldn't be trying
- 16:26Speaker 1: to hate on yours.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Yeah, Rachel, you have a lot more patience than I have.
- 16:30Speaker 3: That they would have taken one comment, just.
- 16:33Speaker 4: What one, and I let them. I let it rip.
- 16:36Speaker 3: So I gotta let I gotta give Rachel a little
- 16:38Speaker 3: praise for hanging on for so long without letting it rock.
- 16:43Speaker 3: I think you could have let that rock after one comment. Literally,
- 16:47Speaker 3: you should have read in deeper, much less divers You
- 16:50Speaker 3: should have started insulting this gentleman, saying how he had
- 16:54Speaker 3: hooked up with your friend.
- 16:55Speaker 4: You're cutting like.
- 16:58Speaker 3: This this friend of yours who helped decorate or is
- 17:01Speaker 3: it a cousin, sorry, cousin cousin who helped decorate. I
- 17:04Speaker 3: would have went in and just started making up the
- 17:07Speaker 3: things that weren't true because her people hurt people, and
- 17:09Speaker 3: she would have hurt my feelings.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Okay, I feel like we can always count on you
- 17:17Speaker 1: to just like double down and be worse. I think
- 17:22Speaker 1: Rachel should just like lay back and not like say anything,
- 17:26Speaker 1: because clearly cousin Nica has a problem.
- 17:30Speaker 3: The real advice is you just know that she's in
- 17:33Speaker 3: a bad way right now, m and you just sit
- 17:36Speaker 3: back and smile. You know, you just lean back and
- 17:40Speaker 3: know that. I assume you're happy with your life. She's
- 17:43Speaker 3: very sad. If you actually don't get along, just let
- 17:46Speaker 3: her be, you know, still saying let the sleeping dog lie, Yeah,
- 17:50Speaker 3: like be over there.
- 17:51Speaker 2: But I will say this, Rachel.
- 17:53Speaker 1: The next time she comes at you for like how
- 17:55Speaker 1: your wedding was decorated, remind her, girl, you're the one
- 17:59Speaker 1: who did it.
- 18:01Speaker 2: You're the one who decorated. If it looks bad, you're
- 18:04Speaker 2: clowning yourself.
- 18:05Speaker 4: That's so true, all right?
- 18:07Speaker 3: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven
- 18:10Speaker 3: how would you handle this situation if you were our
- 18:12Speaker 3: anonymous person we've named Rachel the cousin's hating on the wedding.
- 18:17Speaker 3: She'd being a jerk, and Rachel finally snapped. I don't
- 18:19Speaker 3: know if anyone can really blame her for that. I mean,
- 18:21Speaker 3: you can only poke the bear for so long.
- 18:32Speaker 4: I'll settle for the ghost. Have you ever read a
- 18:34Speaker 4: go someone?
- 18:37Speaker 1: I didn't know.
- 18:38Speaker 2: That's when Alice going, Oh, that's great.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Justin Bieber very well, not publicly, but social media publicly
- 18:47Speaker 3: ended what appears to be a friendship, talking about his
- 18:50Speaker 3: anger issues and this person not accepting him, and YadA,
- 18:54Speaker 3: YadA YadA.
- 18:54Speaker 4: To be honest, it's kind of a mess with the
- 18:56Speaker 4: old bebes.
- 18:57Speaker 3: Yeah, and wow, I'm not assuming that you had friendship
- 19:01Speaker 3: or ghost someone because they wouldn't accept your issues. I
- 19:06Speaker 3: was wondering this morning, have you ever ghosted someone?
- 19:10Speaker 4: And what for?
- 19:12Speaker 3: I've done this to one person in my life, and
- 19:15Speaker 3: I do forget how it all started, like most stupid arguments,
- 19:18Speaker 3: m hmm, but I do know how it kind of
- 19:21Speaker 3: ended with you. You were the ghost just not responding.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, I and Casper became twit.
- 19:29Speaker 2: I have ghosted.
- 19:31Speaker 1: So I you know what's weird is I've never ghosted
- 19:34Speaker 1: a dude. I don't think like a romantic interest. Sure,
- 19:37Speaker 1: I think that always feels litled out in a very
- 19:41Speaker 1: like he wasn't interested in me. Wait, no, I like
- 19:44Speaker 1: would break things off. I'm not a ghoster in that way.
- 19:47Speaker 1: But I did have a friend and thankfully, like I've
- 19:51Speaker 1: moved states and so it's even easier. But my son
- 19:55Speaker 1: had a really close friend of his whose mom I
- 19:59Speaker 1: got along great with. I thought she was just wonderful,
- 20:04Speaker 1: her lifetime friend or at least.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Someone I could stand at play dates.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, But the.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Thing is it always would come back to her trying
- 20:14Speaker 1: to get me to join some sort of multi level
- 20:17Speaker 1: marketing scheme. All sure, and I just I can't. I can't,
- 20:22Speaker 1: I don't want to do it. I like, what are
- 20:25Speaker 1: you talking to me about? All the pyramid scheme? I
- 20:28Speaker 1: never trusted anything. So it would be that we would
- 20:30Speaker 1: have these great conversations in person, and then we'd keep
- 20:34Speaker 1: it going on social media, sending memes and texting it,
- 20:38Speaker 1: and then she would send the text, Oh, I've actually
- 20:42Speaker 1: been doing this and I'm wondering if maybe you're interested
- 20:45Speaker 1: in it, and then it was some like link to
- 20:47Speaker 1: a website, to a multi level marketing scheme, and it
- 20:50Speaker 1: happened enough times that finally I just I stopped responding,
- 20:54Speaker 1: and then I moved away.
- 20:55Speaker 3: So it's all worked out. You not only did you
- 20:58Speaker 3: ghost them, you're ghosting them from a different part of
- 21:00Speaker 3: the country. Exactly seven one two eight zero one nine
- 21:05Speaker 3: eight seven. Have you ever had to ghost someone? Why,
- 21:07Speaker 3: what happened? Give us as many details as you're comfortable sharing.
- 21:11Speaker 3: I also, strangely enough, I don't think I've ever ghosted
- 21:14Speaker 3: like a romantic interest. I think I I think I
- 21:18Speaker 3: just slowly like overtime text less. Oh that's called bread crumbing.
- 21:22Speaker 6: I think.
- 21:23Speaker 4: Sure, I'm sure I've done that.
- 21:25Speaker 3: But I also kind of just ghosted this guy I
- 21:29Speaker 3: was kind of buddies with, you know, and I don't
- 21:32Speaker 3: exactly remember how this all started, but I do believe
- 21:35Speaker 3: I said I would go to some party or something,
- 21:38Speaker 3: and I just ended up not going.
- 21:39Speaker 4: I you know, I probably should have been like a
- 21:41Speaker 4: ghost in person.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Yeah right, I probably should have texted him and just said, hey,
- 21:45Speaker 3: I won't be there, YadA, YadA, YadA. So he was upset, rightfully,
- 21:48Speaker 3: So I was wrong. I should have told him I
- 21:50Speaker 3: wasn't going okay, and I apologized and said, hey, that's
- 21:53Speaker 3: my bad, dude, YadA, YadA, YadA.
- 21:55Speaker 4: And then he just wouldn't let it go.
- 21:57Speaker 3: He just would not drop it after or you know,
- 22:01Speaker 3: days or whatever, just being Dave really really upset at me.
- 22:06Speaker 3: And I was like, bro, I've apologized to you. I said,
- 22:08Speaker 3: I was sorry. I don't know what you want me
- 22:09Speaker 3: to do.
- 22:10Speaker 1: He wanted your first born.
- 22:11Speaker 4: That's right.
- 22:12Speaker 3: And so yeah, he just kind of started going off
- 22:14Speaker 3: and you know, saying not anything like overly hurtful, but
- 22:17Speaker 3: like mean things to me. And I was just like,
- 22:20Speaker 3: all right, dude, well that's the end of that. Like
- 22:21Speaker 3: you're not my lifelong but friend this is easy to say.
- 22:25Speaker 4: Peace.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. And this was where when you lived
- 22:28Speaker 1: in Minnesota. Yeah, oh yeah, and he's still in Minnesota.
- 22:32Speaker 4: I believe.
- 22:32Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 22:33Speaker 4: Okay, so I don't.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Know you've also ghosted and then moved.
- 22:37Speaker 4: That's that's right, that's.
- 22:39Speaker 2: The emo of GABANANGI. We'll ghost you and then flat
- 22:42Speaker 2: out move away.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Uh, Courtney, have you ever ghosted someone or just kind
- 22:46Speaker 3: of ended a friendship?
- 22:47Speaker 5: Honestly, it was just a combination of feeling drained by
- 22:51Speaker 5: constant negativity and realizing our lives we're just moving in
- 22:55Speaker 5: different directions. I didn't know how to address it, so
- 22:58Speaker 5: I just stopped responding. It wasn't my proudest moment. But
- 23:01Speaker 5: sometimes avoiding conflicts just feels a lot easier.
- 23:05Speaker 3: That sounds like exactly what I kind of did, right, Yeah,
- 23:07Speaker 3: I sort of just you know what, all right, I
- 23:09Speaker 3: don't need to talk to you anymore.
- 23:10Speaker 1: That's what ghosting stems from, if you're conflict avoidant.
- 23:14Speaker 4: All right, what about you, Roger Rogers on the phone.
- 23:17Speaker 6: I had a friend who I found out was talking
- 23:19Speaker 6: about me behind my back. He was saying stupid, terrible
- 23:22Speaker 6: things about me that weren't even true, Like he was
- 23:25Speaker 6: making stuff up about me, saying things about my other friends.
- 23:28Speaker 6: I just stopped talking to him, and I haven't heard
- 23:30Speaker 6: from the years, and I don't care if I ever
- 23:32Speaker 6: do again.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Well, yeah, because that was a hater.
- 23:35Speaker 1: You had a hater in your midst.
- 23:42Speaker 3: ESPN is coming to North Dakota State in August to
- 23:47Speaker 3: feature the Bison football program.
- 23:50Speaker 2: That's exciting.
- 23:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:51Speaker 3: The Sports Entertainment Network announced yesterday that it's schedule for
- 23:56Speaker 3: Sports Center fifty states in fifty days, a nationwide that
- 24:00Speaker 3: has all is slated excuse me to come to Fargo.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Sports Center obviously, is ESPN's longtime running sports news show.
- 24:07Speaker 3: I'm sure you've heard of it, but if you haven't,
- 24:10Speaker 3: SportsCenter ESPN is slated to have a live on site
- 24:15Speaker 3: show with varying types of segments, featuring various anchors from
- 24:19Speaker 3: a different state each day for fifty straight days.
- 24:22Speaker 4: That's cool.
- 24:23Speaker 3: The tour starts in ten days here. It starts June
- 24:26Speaker 3: twenty seventh in Washington, DC, and NDSU football is slated
- 24:30Speaker 3: to be featured with a primary edition showtime set for
- 24:34Speaker 3: one pm on August eleven. Then it's gonna have ESPN
- 24:38Speaker 3: anchor Matt Barry.
- 24:40Speaker 1: This is so cool.
- 24:41Speaker 3: Yes, now the Bison have won the championship last year.
- 24:44Speaker 3: They've won ten FCS national titles since twenty eleven.
- 24:49Speaker 4: And this is not the first time ESPN has been
- 24:51Speaker 4: to Fargo.
- 24:52Speaker 3: ESPN has been to Fargo three times since twenty thirteen
- 24:55Speaker 3: for live shows, including Sports Center on the Road, a
- 24:58Speaker 3: show on October show Oh in October excuse me of
- 25:01Speaker 3: twenty fifteen. ESPN's College Game Day was here in twenty
- 25:04Speaker 3: thirteen and twenty fourteen, but they will be here ESPN
- 25:08Speaker 3: in August. Always kind of cool when not only your
- 25:13Speaker 3: state but just your home, your home, Yeah, the place
- 25:16Speaker 3: you live and work at every day gets featured, you know,
- 25:19Speaker 3: on a flagship like ESPN.
- 25:21Speaker 4: Riol.
- 25:22Speaker 1: Let me tell you, I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada,
- 25:25Speaker 1: and UNLV is not.
- 25:27Speaker 2: A great university. What I'm sorry, it's not not.
- 25:31Speaker 1: I mean I think in the nineties they had the
- 25:32Speaker 1: basketball team and that was like dope.
- 25:34Speaker 3: They for a little bit had a decent basketball team.
- 25:37Speaker 3: There's a kid that went to the high school I
- 25:38Speaker 3: went to who went and played at UNLV named ershad
- 25:41Speaker 3: Vaughn and they made the tournament a couple times.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Yeah, but no, not enough.
- 25:44Speaker 4: They're not good enough.
- 25:45Speaker 1: So now it's very exciting that I live here in
- 25:47Speaker 1: Fargo and like I repped the NDSU Buisen. Yeah, I'm like,
- 25:52Speaker 1: for me, it's like I was with them the whole time.
- 25:55Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I've had the Gopher hockey team win
- 25:57Speaker 3: a couple championships for me in my life, but that's
- 25:59Speaker 3: about all I've got.
- 26:00Speaker 4: So I've had to borrow some Byson ship.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Well, won at least one Byson championship for the football team,
- 26:06Speaker 3: because I have a whole lot of them on my
- 26:08Speaker 3: Minnesota life resume. All right, so pretty cool anyway. ESPN
- 26:13Speaker 3: on the way too Fargo in August. And don't forget
- 26:15Speaker 3: the world is full of nice people. If you can't
- 26:18Speaker 3: find one, you gotta be one.
