- 0:13Speaker 2: bringing in a guy who I certainly got to play
- 0:15Speaker 2: against in college too, which just let you know how
- 0:18Speaker 2: old I am or you know how young he is
- 0:20Speaker 2: either one what one of the two. They're talking about
- 0:22Speaker 2: a pro bowler, all pro.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Uh.
- 0:24Speaker 1: We talked about the TJ. Ward what a super Bowl,
- 0:28Speaker 1: super Bowl fifty lord.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Super Bowl champion. Heret's let's let's start that off. You
- 0:34Speaker 2: know you're only a few years older than me.
- 0:36Speaker 3: You're thirty eight, right, yep, thirty eight.
- 0:38Speaker 2: I'm thirty five few days ago. Look I talked to
- 0:41Speaker 2: I talked to Khalais Campbell previously, bro, and he's thirty eight,
- 0:44Speaker 2: still doing it.
- 0:44Speaker 1: You think it's still make a tackle NFL?
- 0:47Speaker 3: I mean if I was training these last eight years.
- 0:54Speaker 4: Walking out there right now, No, I'm just I hope
- 0:57Speaker 4: I can hold on to somebody, but us.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Hold him up, come down with attention. Hit that.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I guarantee you.
- 1:09Speaker 4: I can feel a sea gas, but I definitely gonna
- 1:11Speaker 4: need you out there containing that age man, forcing bag
- 1:14Speaker 4: so he can't go nowhere.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I was I saw, uh, I was just because I
- 1:20Speaker 2: saw you. I saw your tweet a minute back. You're like, yo,
- 1:23Speaker 2: that was coupboys. I can I can help you tackle
- 1:25Speaker 2: somebody if you need something like hit my phone.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Yeah for sure. Give me two weeks, give me two
- 1:32Speaker 3: weeks after the bide week. I'll be out there. Hey,
- 1:36Speaker 3: dead ass.
- 1:37Speaker 4: The way they out there attempting to tackle, I can't
- 1:41Speaker 4: do no worse.
- 1:42Speaker 3: I can't. It's impossible.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I say, hey, you know, you know there's always like
- 1:47Speaker 2: a game or two during the season that for some
- 1:50Speaker 2: reason you you see like six or seven mistackles and
- 1:54Speaker 2: then you gotta like hone in on the craft room,
- 1:55Speaker 2: like all of a sudden, you guys are thudding up
- 1:57Speaker 2: in practice and doing.
- 1:58Speaker 3: All that right. We go for as this week, this week.
- 2:02Speaker 2: This week because we needed I'm missing tackles because I'm hurting.
- 2:08Speaker 1: My shoulder hurts. I'm giving it everything I got.
- 2:10Speaker 4: We practiced, you ain't even supposed to be practicing. Yeah,
- 2:13Speaker 4: we're gonna do a four on the floor this week because.
- 2:17Speaker 2: We saw, we saw. You know what, I'm gonna put
- 2:21Speaker 2: the codes at the hash mark and the codes three
- 2:23Speaker 2: yards by the sidelines, so you know, I need to
- 2:25Speaker 2: make overfield tackle.
- 2:26Speaker 1: What what what what are you doing?
- 2:29Speaker 3: Yeah? But nah, no, no, you know, even though sometimes
- 2:32Speaker 3: it's needed. All right, coach, we need to go back
- 2:34Speaker 3: to the drawing fundamentals, fundamentals because we're losing it for
- 2:38Speaker 3: whatever reason. But like you said or brought up, it's
- 2:43Speaker 3: been happening.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Concurrently in the NFL with multiple defenses and you know,
- 2:50Speaker 4: multiple teams. So it's something that's happening across the league.
- 2:55Speaker 3: And I you know.
- 2:56Speaker 4: Blast half of it gotta come from the taking away
- 2:59Speaker 4: the physicality.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Right, you can't hat anybody no more.
- 3:02Speaker 4: And from what I hear, they're even teaching tackling technique
- 3:06Speaker 4: different differently, Right, what's that going on?
- 3:10Speaker 3: That's the way to get ran over facts I grew up, I.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Would say, but but you came in from era where
- 3:15Speaker 2: you you know, you you used to come down and
- 3:17Speaker 2: thump them boys, you know, like you were known as
- 3:20Speaker 2: a as a as a thumper. You come down and
- 3:23Speaker 2: literally put everything in there.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Huh yeah, yeah, man, you can still be a thumber.
- 3:27Speaker 4: A lot of my thumps, you know, weren't thumps where
- 3:31Speaker 4: you get ejected or.
- 3:33Speaker 3: Him with the him, and so it's still you know,
- 3:35Speaker 3: you still allowed to do that.
- 3:36Speaker 4: You see it, you know from some guys in the league.
- 3:39Speaker 4: It's a it's a once a game like oh okay, right,
- 3:43Speaker 4: but it doesn't happen too.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Often, ye like, But there's no monikers for guys that
- 3:47Speaker 2: are laying hits out like you used to have Dante
- 3:49Speaker 2: hitting her. You know what I'm saying, right, they commercialized it, right, Like,
- 3:54Speaker 2: there's none of that no more. It's like, oh, he
- 3:56Speaker 2: comes down here fit and he like lays a hat.
- 3:58Speaker 2: But that's it's not it's not as celebrated. You used
- 4:01Speaker 2: to whisper Vontes's perfect name.
- 4:03Speaker 3: You like coming, you know who we got this week?
- 4:08Speaker 3: He walked past the office.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Hey, I better, y'all better tightened up.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Used to used to top the offense like your own office.
- 4:15Speaker 2: He Hey, I don't know they're gonna work when he
- 4:18Speaker 2: come down. You see Cam Chancellor when he come down,
- 4:20Speaker 2: hit that sea gap, do.
- 4:22Speaker 3: That all the time and pra he throw that out.
- 4:25Speaker 3: That's that's gonna work, you know, you know he coming,
- 4:29Speaker 3: Yeah for sure?
- 4:30Speaker 4: But like, man, seriously, did you.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Ever have one of them hits in the league when
- 4:35Speaker 1: you when everybody.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Will hit that, Oh yeah for sure.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I had running back to the flat.
- 4:41Speaker 3: Yeah, I called a man. I called a guy.
- 4:46Speaker 4: Uh shipy Membershipley from Texas. He played receiver. He was
- 4:51Speaker 4: with he went to Cincinnati. Uh, but he played with
- 4:54Speaker 4: call McCoy in Texas and when we were in college
- 4:57Speaker 4: that era anyway, called him in the red and it
- 5:00Speaker 4: was the first hit.
- 5:02Speaker 3: In the NFL.
- 5:03Speaker 4: I had, like that, a big hit and I got
- 5:05Speaker 4: flagged and fine and it was like my welcome to
- 5:07Speaker 4: the NFL moment, like Okay, you can't do that here.
- 5:10Speaker 4: So but yeah, it was a oh like almost like
- 5:13Speaker 4: a ya, why did you do that?
- 5:16Speaker 1: Like he's a minace I am?
- 5:21Speaker 4: I am hey, yeah, like the Carson Palmer came up
- 5:25Speaker 4: to me, t O came up to me. The whole
- 5:28Speaker 4: office was like, hey, man, like that was uncalled for.
- 5:31Speaker 4: But it wasn't uncalled for.
- 5:33Speaker 1: It wasn't.
- 5:34Speaker 3: It was right on time.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Yeah, straight up, y'all. Just Cincinnatis Division, NFC AFC North.
- 5:40Speaker 3: You know the Browns, we been the little the little
- 5:43Speaker 3: brothers in this division. I'm a rookie. I'm like, hey,
- 5:47Speaker 3: times are changing around here.
- 5:50Speaker 2: No they were not, but you but you believe little
- 5:58Speaker 2: little did I know.
- 6:00Speaker 3: You don't come and change around here in the NFL.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Right here, Hey, my favorite story I think of all
- 6:07Speaker 2: times with you is uh just hearing hearing the rumors
- 6:11Speaker 2: around the locker room.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Might have been preseason or even a regular season game.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Well the scrap that went down between you and Alex Mack, which,
- 6:21Speaker 2: again as a jit, you just hear about these things.
- 6:23Speaker 2: And you know Mac went to cow so I know,
- 6:25Speaker 2: you know he's sort of a he's sort of an oddball. Anyways,
- 6:28Speaker 2: offensive lineman just super to himself. Yeah, I heard, like,
- 6:32Speaker 2: you know, you hear, you hear things like I knew
- 6:34Speaker 2: you was a wild man, and it was like, yeah,
- 6:36Speaker 2: it was right before a game when they became a
- 6:38Speaker 2: two piece.
- 6:39Speaker 1: I was like, wait, what what? I was like, hey, well,
- 6:43Speaker 1: do you recall like how that happened. He was playing
- 6:45Speaker 1: music in the locker room. He was getting your guys.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I was.
- 6:49Speaker 4: It was like the first game of maybe my third year.
- 6:53Speaker 4: Right so it's my third year. We done went four
- 6:56Speaker 4: and eleven, four and twelve, five and eleven. I'm like,
- 7:01Speaker 4: we got it, we gotta pick it up, we gotta
- 7:03Speaker 4: do something. So we didn't even play music before the games.
- 7:08Speaker 4: You know, the practice is cool. Before the games, nobody
- 7:10Speaker 4: played music. But I'm like, man, we gotta get headphones right.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Offense.
- 7:15Speaker 4: I don't know how you guys locker room set up,
- 7:17Speaker 4: but offense was on this side. Defense was on this
- 7:19Speaker 4: side on game day. So it was a pretty big
- 7:21Speaker 4: locker room in Cleveland, believe it or not. I mean,
- 7:23Speaker 4: just because we were bad doesn't mean we didn't have
- 7:25Speaker 4: good things, right, Like they facility must have sucked. Nah,
- 7:30Speaker 4: Actually they are pretty good. So different parts of the
- 7:33Speaker 4: locker room. I turned my little monster box on. It's
- 7:36Speaker 4: not too loud. It's a speaker.
- 7:37Speaker 3: This big can't get too.
- 7:38Speaker 4: Loud right right, So I go contrast, come back music off.
- 7:44Speaker 4: I'm like, damn, must have disconnected for the blue tube.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Turn it back on, Go get you know, stretch and stuff.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Come back. It's off again. I'm like, this is not
- 7:55Speaker 3: a coincidence. So Joe Ayden, that's my dog. He's locker
- 7:58Speaker 3: right next to me. So Joe, he kind got like
- 8:00Speaker 3: a didn't happen. I'm like Joe to the music. He like, man, man,
- 8:07Speaker 3: Max get back, came down and turned it off. I'm like, who.
- 8:12Speaker 4: Turned my back off? Now, go get taped, get my
- 8:14Speaker 4: fingers wrist taped.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Come back. I catch him. He right, He like his
- 8:21Speaker 3: hand up like, hey man, like what's going on.
- 8:26Speaker 4: He's like, we don't play music before the games. I'm like,
- 8:29Speaker 4: we don't play music. I'm playing music before the game.
- 8:32Speaker 4: N we don't play no music.
- 8:34Speaker 3: I said.
- 8:34Speaker 4: We been getting our ass kicks since I've been here,
- 8:37Speaker 4: so we gotta change it up. And we're trying to
- 8:40Speaker 4: get crunked down here, so we're gonna play some music.
- 8:43Speaker 4: So like I go to like get him out the
- 8:46Speaker 4: way and get back and turn my stuff back on,
- 8:48Speaker 4: and he kind of like like little man me like
- 8:52Speaker 4: I mean, I mean he.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Just moved.
- 8:59Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, the situation was that, but you know,
- 9:03Speaker 3: don't be treating me like that.
- 9:05Speaker 4: So now I gotta get extra strong getting like get
- 9:08Speaker 4: him out the way, like get about my locker. So
- 9:11Speaker 4: I get my back to my locker, spin him out,
- 9:13Speaker 4: giving me a little un you know, I'm kind.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Of big at this point. I'm about to go to twelve.
- 9:19Speaker 4: You know, I'm about to twelve, like solid though, real strong,
- 9:23Speaker 4: like I'm putting a weight at this point.
- 9:25Speaker 2: So nobody would ever say that about to twelve, but
- 9:28Speaker 2: continue as a safety. Yes, that's big, that's the office
- 9:32Speaker 2: a lineman. We we you know, right, dang.
- 9:37Speaker 4: So now I got my back to the towards the
- 9:40Speaker 4: locker and I had to get him back. So I
- 9:43Speaker 4: pushed him a little bit, not even a violent push,
- 9:46Speaker 4: just like.
- 9:46Speaker 3: A you know, get back, bro like move. Yeah.
- 9:50Speaker 4: So now he's trying to go over the top of me,
- 9:53Speaker 4: and he grabbed me, and I'm like, it's over bull constricted, right,
- 10:00Speaker 4: I'm like, so, I first thing I had to do
- 10:04Speaker 4: it was before he tightened up.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Was to slip about. So I slipped up, and now
- 10:08Speaker 3: I hit him with a bigness.
- 10:12Speaker 4: So I guess he felt like that was a big push,
- 10:17Speaker 4: and he kind of started charging me, and you know,
- 10:20Speaker 4: I mean spider senses went up. Don't let a big
- 10:23Speaker 4: man run up on you and grab you. So I
- 10:25Speaker 4: just gave him a left right power and then I,
- 10:28Speaker 4: you know, got back to the center of the locker
- 10:30Speaker 4: so I could have space to move around, you feel me,
- 10:33Speaker 4: so I could.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Get up came I'm like, yeah, come out here.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm stunned a little bit, huh, but uh, I
- 10:42Speaker 4: don't think he liked how they felt. But either way,
- 10:45Speaker 4: you know, it was something that emotions were up pregame.
- 10:50Speaker 4: I think we're all a little bit frustrated by the
- 10:52Speaker 4: last few years being in Cleveland and me and him
- 10:56Speaker 4: being leaders of the team. We kind of could have
- 11:00Speaker 4: definitely helped handled that a different way, but I say
- 11:05Speaker 4: we were both in the wrong.
- 11:07Speaker 3: And after that, you know, me and alex is being
- 11:09Speaker 3: real cool.
- 11:10Speaker 4: I think actually probably have a better relationship from it
- 11:13Speaker 4: from that point on, right.
- 11:15Speaker 1: You might, you might earn a little bit.
- 11:17Speaker 3: We did both ways. I think we did. And you know,
- 11:21Speaker 3: after he got back to my.
- 11:24Speaker 4: After I got to the center of the locker room,
- 11:27Speaker 4: his back was to my locker, even grabbed my speaker
- 11:29Speaker 4: and launched it all the way to the end of
- 11:31Speaker 4: the busted into a million pieces.
- 11:33Speaker 3: So I was just looking at it like, damn.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I wasn't but I lost, Like I won what I lost?
- 11:42Speaker 1: A lost?
- 11:43Speaker 3: So we got ready, Uh did y'all win that game? No,
- 11:47Speaker 3: we didn't win that game. You know, we hadn't won
- 11:50Speaker 3: the season opener.
- 11:52Speaker 4: Since I've been there and then before that, so it
- 11:55Speaker 4: didn't help. But you know, we we put up a fight.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Right moreas the one.
- 12:02Speaker 4: Show, Uh yeah, story them is them is some stories man,
- 12:08Speaker 4: like that happened a lot back then.
- 12:09Speaker 3: I don't know if they still happening today.
- 12:12Speaker 2: But man, it's god that virility is definitely on the
- 12:15Speaker 2: lower end. Everybody's a little more posture. Everybody has like
- 12:18Speaker 2: the politics of like you know exactly, so, you know,
- 12:22Speaker 2: I like the locker rooms now. You know locker rooms
- 12:24Speaker 2: now they're a lot softer and feel and more like
- 12:27Speaker 2: Joe Vial. But at the same time, you know, like
- 12:30Speaker 2: it is what it is. Plus they usually if it's
- 12:32Speaker 2: going to happen, it's gonna happen right right around that
- 12:34Speaker 2: training camp, you know, week four or five, So you
- 12:37Speaker 2: know the fact that it was seasoned open, that's that's
- 12:40Speaker 2: a great hell of a way to pop off the season.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Bro.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Do you do you think about when you first got
- 12:45Speaker 2: in do you were ever like focus and emphasizing, like
- 12:48Speaker 2: the stretching, the the prehab you know, do you remember
- 12:52Speaker 2: going into rehab at six thirty the morning and you
- 12:54Speaker 2: weren't hurt Steve thirty the morning, dude, there's a there's
- 12:57Speaker 2: a there's a pivotal time. I try and tell guys,
- 12:59Speaker 2: I'm like, Yo, when I first got in the league,
- 13:01Speaker 2: sort of looked at you like if you were in
- 13:03Speaker 2: the rehab room, you were wrong, Versus now you ask
- 13:06Speaker 2: better be in the rehab room and if you have
- 13:08Speaker 2: any soft tissue stuff that's on you before it's on
- 13:11Speaker 2: the team.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:12Speaker 4: Absolutely, Well, I mean I was coming off a lot
- 13:14Speaker 4: of injuries from college, so I made sure I was
- 13:18Speaker 4: always in the training room. So I think I kind
- 13:21Speaker 4: of did that by default because I had to, you know,
- 13:24Speaker 4: just I had two three knee new knee surgeries and
- 13:28Speaker 4: pull my hamstring my second year in Cleveland, so I
- 13:31Speaker 4: had hit flex of injuries in high school.
- 13:33Speaker 3: I had a lot of soft tissue injury.
- 13:35Speaker 4: Injuries throughout my career, so I really knew how to
- 13:38Speaker 4: up keep my body warm up, make strengthen, and you know,
- 13:42Speaker 4: pre rehab right to get away from all those injuries
- 13:48Speaker 4: to prevent those injuries from coming in. So yeah, I've
- 13:51Speaker 4: always been one of those guys. Actually, later in my careers,
- 13:53Speaker 4: when I kind of stopped having to do all that,
- 13:57Speaker 4: it's kind of weird, right, Like I would spend less.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Time and warm up and prehab. Yeah, it makes no sense.
- 14:05Speaker 2: But the older you got, the better you got. You're like, yeah,
- 14:08Speaker 2: I'm good, No, No, I'm in there. I'm in there religiously.
- 14:13Speaker 2: I need it.
- 14:14Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Like cold contrast in the morning I.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Don't believe in cold bro.
- 14:19Speaker 2: I don't believe.
- 14:21Speaker 3: No rehab, a hot up.
- 14:24Speaker 2: And then you know, I didn't even get in the
- 14:25Speaker 2: hot up till like year nine or ten, like you
- 14:28Speaker 2: know I did.
- 14:28Speaker 3: But no, man, you man played thirty years.
- 14:32Speaker 2: I ain't never wanted to play thirty years. No, no, hey,
- 14:38Speaker 2: my goal. My goal was one Pro Bowl and then
- 14:40Speaker 2: after that it's all been laying up in blessings.
- 14:42Speaker 4: Yeah, but yeah, no, definitely blessings. But the older you get,
- 14:47Speaker 4: it's not that you like get more injuries. Is the
- 14:52Speaker 4: injuries take longer to come back from, right, So even
- 14:57Speaker 4: like concussions. Man, when I was getting like concussions later,
- 15:01Speaker 4: I'll say it like it's concussions, right, yeah, I was
- 15:05Speaker 4: going to the grocery store.
- 15:06Speaker 3: But dude, they was I'm like, damn, not right yet.
- 15:09Speaker 4: And that's when I really was like, Okay, maybe I'm
- 15:12Speaker 4: getting too many of these mm hmm. You know, because
- 15:14Speaker 4: like the first the earliest, like, dude, take the test,
- 15:17Speaker 4: I'm back, right, take the test.
- 15:19Speaker 3: I'm back now, I'm taking the test. And nah, take
- 15:22Speaker 3: a test.
- 15:23Speaker 4: Nah, I'm like, hold up, y'all, now, y'all just trying
- 15:25Speaker 4: to hold me out.
- 15:28Speaker 3: I don't want to pay me. I got incentives in
- 15:30Speaker 3: my contract. I know what y'all doing.
- 15:33Speaker 2: The politics of the business side of it. All boys
- 15:35Speaker 2: be forgetting that it is a business at the end
- 15:37Speaker 2: of the day. They're be like, oh, how can they
- 15:38Speaker 2: do that to me? Well, you got a million dollar
- 15:41Speaker 2: seconds off and it's two games left.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Then we're not winning and you're not going to the playoffs.
- 15:46Speaker 2: They're not trying to give you that. No, sorry, or
- 15:50Speaker 2: we are winning, but also we're already secured in the playoffs.
- 15:55Speaker 1: They don't need this last win or too.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Those ten tackles it.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Like it's there's the there's the business side.
- 16:03Speaker 1: That is it's really real.
- 16:04Speaker 3: You know. Yeah, that's a fact.
- 16:06Speaker 4: So if you can get up on it early, get
- 16:09Speaker 4: up on it. But they once you start learning the
- 16:12Speaker 4: business side, that's when you start getting slow, right, That's what.
- 16:17Speaker 2: That's what they say. Hey, when when when you when
- 16:20Speaker 2: you're young, you just run around. You ain't worried about politics,
- 16:22Speaker 2: about who's what where the numbers game, how many dns
- 16:25Speaker 2: they hold, how many You're like, no, like, I'm gonna
- 16:27Speaker 2: be the best that I'm gonna work hard for it
- 16:29Speaker 2: because you have unlimited potential once you once you capture
- 16:31Speaker 2: your potential or proceed to capture your potential, that's when
- 16:34Speaker 2: they try to start replacing. You're like, no, I'm the
- 16:36Speaker 2: best I have ever been, and yet they just spent
- 16:39Speaker 2: the first rounder on my replacements. You know, they're always
- 16:43Speaker 2: trying to always trying to get cheaper. This is a
- 16:44Speaker 2: business side of things.
- 16:45Speaker 3: You gotta understand that for sure.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Stay tuned. We'll be right back.
- 16:51Speaker 2: Look as a fan, as a fan now as a
- 16:53Speaker 2: guy who's playing in the league retired, what what are
- 16:57Speaker 2: you looking forward to Christmas Day? Do you do? You
- 16:59Speaker 2: look forward the NFL game on Christmas Day? You look
- 17:01Speaker 2: forward towards me the basketball game? You know, like I've
- 17:04Speaker 2: heard I've heard you talking both. Are you an NBA guy?
- 17:07Speaker 3: Now?
- 17:07Speaker 1: You still a NFL guys?
- 17:08Speaker 4: Now I'm still NFL. I still I part take in NBA.
- 17:12Speaker 3: But it's being unwatchable, Like wow, man, I Like, I mean, I'm.
- 17:17Speaker 4: A nineties kid, eighties baby, nineties kid, right, so I
- 17:21Speaker 4: like to see the full spectrum of the sport basketball
- 17:27Speaker 4: and football, and it just seems that both it's kind
- 17:29Speaker 4: of becoming one dimension or they're like mirroring each other,
- 17:32Speaker 4: like with the passing and the protection the NFL is doing,
- 17:36Speaker 4: the NBA is doing the three ball, and studient reffs
- 17:41Speaker 4: taking over the game. We tech calls and all other
- 17:44Speaker 4: crazy stuff. So it's kind of in the same lane,
- 17:47Speaker 4: but definitely still the NFL guy. I love that NFL
- 17:50Speaker 4: is getting back to running backs being prominent figures in
- 17:53Speaker 4: the offense because I think with that becomes more physical sport.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Now the defense have to become more physical. Safety has
- 18:00Speaker 4: become more physical. You see more.
- 18:01Speaker 3: Violent, So.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Ultimate effect, the ultimate effect, see more violence.
- 18:07Speaker 3: When it all comes down to it, it's more violent, absolutely.
- 18:11Speaker 2: I mean it's sort of a sad thing to see, Like,
- 18:13Speaker 2: you know, us growing up, you saw all the great
- 18:15Speaker 2: fullbacks that would come through, and now there's all of
- 18:18Speaker 2: three teams that use a fullback.
- 18:20Speaker 3: Man, some runner backs used to have shoes signatures, remember
- 18:25Speaker 3: Barry Sanders and Jimmy Smith's and signature kicks. Yeah, now
- 18:31Speaker 3: they can hardly get a contract.
- 18:33Speaker 4: I mean that's you know, you gotta you know, cook
- 18:36Speaker 4: the Kamaras and Saquon's.
- 18:40Speaker 2: And even then that's a mid level d tackle payday
- 18:44Speaker 2: straight up. You know, tight ends. You know, there's there's
- 18:49Speaker 2: Travis Kelcey and then there's a drop of you know,
- 18:50Speaker 2: there's Christian McCaffrey making nineteen a year and then the
- 18:54Speaker 2: next highest paid now is who twelve and a half thirteen.
- 18:58Speaker 4: It's uh, the disparity is, man, Yeah, could you imagine
- 19:01Speaker 4: that in the quarterback position.
- 19:04Speaker 2: I mean, your mid level quarterbacks are making thirty five
- 19:06Speaker 2: and you're up your top tier quarterbacks are making sixty
- 19:10Speaker 2: a year. I'm talking about apy a year a year.
- 19:16Speaker 3: Let's say you're incredible.
- 19:17Speaker 2: You could be And that's just the wide diaspora that
- 19:21Speaker 2: is athletes. You know, like think about think about it.
- 19:24Speaker 2: We're looking at our own like, man, we got to
- 19:26Speaker 2: get our money up. You know, you got Tjy making
- 19:30Speaker 2: thirty something whatever it is at your positions. And then
- 19:32Speaker 2: but you look around the league is like, oh, you
- 19:34Speaker 2: know the leagues Like look around baseball, Juan Soto go
- 19:38Speaker 2: for seven fifty, Like damn, I'm sport all right?
- 19:41Speaker 4: What allows them to put I mean, I think your
- 19:44Speaker 4: value to a team is your value to the team,
- 19:46Speaker 4: no matter what position you put, right.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Right, explain show hel tiny seven hundred.
- 19:51Speaker 4: You know, if I'm this and I bring this type
- 19:53Speaker 4: of impact, I don't player.
- 19:54Speaker 3: If you play.
- 19:55Speaker 4: Quarterback and you are basically just a game manager, right,
- 20:00Speaker 4: But I'm making game changing turnovers, I'm making game changing plays.
- 20:04Speaker 3: There's no way you should be paying money. I don't
- 20:07Speaker 3: care what position you like. This is how it should go.
- 20:11Speaker 4: But for whatever reason, they've been able to put each
- 20:15Speaker 4: position in the capitule and then cap it.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Or not right. Yeah, I mean I think that's kind
- 20:23Speaker 3: of ridiculous.
- 20:23Speaker 1: But yes, I mean yes and no.
- 20:25Speaker 2: I feel like, in my mind, I've always said you
- 20:27Speaker 2: can't teach size, right, so you can't teach a really
- 20:30Speaker 2: good quarterback. That's why you have, you know, the excellence
- 20:33Speaker 2: that is you know Pat Mahomes or Josh Allen or
- 20:36Speaker 2: you know Lamar Jackson. And then you have everybody sort
- 20:40Speaker 2: of chasing that. But that's just it. Just like players
- 20:43Speaker 2: are chasing that greatness, teams are chasing that greatness as well.
- 20:45Speaker 2: They know if they can capture a really good quarterback,
- 20:48Speaker 2: you know, Dak Prescott, you know you're gonna win some
- 20:50Speaker 2: games because of him, albeit maybe not this year because
- 20:53Speaker 2: he's on IR.
- 20:54Speaker 1: But you know what you have in front of you.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Do you risk that by going to go pay somebody
- 20:58Speaker 1: else too?
- 21:00Speaker 4: I mean, agree with you with that being said, you
- 21:03Speaker 4: have those top tier quarterbacks, so regardless of a team
- 21:06Speaker 4: there on, they're going to be that top tier.
- 21:08Speaker 3: So they deserve to be paid like that.
- 21:09Speaker 4: But then you got guys that you know, I'm not
- 21:12Speaker 4: gonna say any names, but let's just say the bottom half, right,
- 21:16Speaker 4: getting paid absurd amount of money just because they play quarterback.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Right, they're terrible, but it's it's like they may be,
- 21:22Speaker 3: they may be hurting their team more than they're but.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Say, if you look at it, if you look at
- 21:26Speaker 2: from that, you say, like, I'm not giving the quarterback
- 21:28Speaker 2: sixty mili, I'm so all right, so I'll give him.
- 21:30Speaker 1: You know, I think he's whatever you say, he's okay.
- 21:33Speaker 2: So you land at a number like thirty five and
- 21:35Speaker 2: thirty five you're like, if you look at quarterback numbers,
- 21:38Speaker 2: you'll be like, oh, he didn't really get paid.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Like that, But at every other position that is the top.
- 21:42Speaker 3: Of the market, yeah, or beyond exactly.
- 21:46Speaker 4: So, like I said, it should be based on impact.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Ah, that was like, it's it's never it's never been
- 21:53Speaker 2: that way.
- 21:54Speaker 4: You've always say, hey, I know.
- 21:58Speaker 1: You gotta be I look at all the time.
- 22:01Speaker 2: I mean I look at all the time just in
- 22:02Speaker 2: terms of like years where we got you know, where
- 22:04Speaker 2: I got drafted versus not. I'm like, dang, Like I
- 22:06Speaker 2: came out in twenty eleven right after the lockout year,
- 22:09Speaker 2: where you know, Cam Newton should have made seventy million
- 22:12Speaker 2: dollars as the first overall pick, but he made twenty,
- 22:15Speaker 2: you know, because we just it's the luck of the draw,
- 22:19Speaker 2: you know. Because of that, they're like, you know, these vetsls,
- 22:21Speaker 2: we make.
- 22:21Speaker 1: More in the back end.
- 22:22Speaker 2: But right before I made my second deal, it was
- 22:25Speaker 2: like right before the d line market took off, so
- 22:28Speaker 2: you know, like blessed highly favorite, never got to work again. Yeah,
- 22:32Speaker 2: you know, I signed like eleven year and I was
- 22:34Speaker 2: like hell yeah. And the year after it was like
- 22:36Speaker 2: a mid level d tackle made like fourteen or fifteen,
- 22:39Speaker 2: and then the market took off and I was like,
- 22:40Speaker 2: oh I missed it.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Dang. Like my year coming out, it was like the
- 22:47Speaker 3: gold rush.
- 22:48Speaker 4: Everybody's trying to get out before to see the new
- 22:50Speaker 4: CBA hit right or before the lockow. Yeah, jors coming
- 22:55Speaker 4: out and I'm like, hey, man, y'all.
- 22:57Speaker 3: Need to stay back. You messed it, stock, you mess it.
- 23:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna be a first round lockna.
- 23:05Speaker 4: Be a first Now I'm second round because of y'all
- 23:08Speaker 4: all Americans want to come out sophomore stay back. But yeah,
- 23:16Speaker 4: that was that was that was a class. But like
- 23:18Speaker 4: you know, that's what comes back to the business side.
- 23:21Speaker 4: You got to be aware, like you're getting ready for that,
- 23:23Speaker 4: that week of preparation, that game plan. You better have
- 23:26Speaker 4: a game plan for your for your business and your contracts,
- 23:31Speaker 4: see what's going around the league and your position and
- 23:33Speaker 4: everything tap into that.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Bro I've thought about this.
- 23:36Speaker 2: How just you talk about, you know, having having a
- 23:39Speaker 2: game plan and preparing for it, How does that ever,
- 23:42Speaker 2: like feel for you when you had the you know,
- 23:44Speaker 2: the Thursday night game with the Sunday game after or
- 23:46Speaker 2: like those the three games stretch with where you you play,
- 23:50Speaker 2: you know, within eleven days you played three games? Like
- 23:53Speaker 2: how did that? How did that used to take a
- 23:55Speaker 2: toll on you? Especially as a safety coming down like
- 23:58Speaker 2: you're you're you're I'm hitting people, they're shedding a office
- 24:00Speaker 2: alignment or a tight end. You're hitting people coming from
- 24:03Speaker 2: twenty yards deep or maybe ten yards back, creeping up
- 24:07Speaker 2: and hitting the sea gap at your probably top speed,
- 24:10Speaker 2: if not top speed.
- 24:11Speaker 4: Yeah, it's brutal man. You know, especially the Sunday to
- 24:15Speaker 4: the Thursday. All right, cool man, that's like and especially
- 24:20Speaker 4: don't have a violent or a divisional matchup that Sunday
- 24:25Speaker 4: and don't have to travel that Thursday. So I mean
- 24:28Speaker 4: it takes a toll, bro that. I don't think we
- 24:31Speaker 4: should have to play no Thursday game after playing Sunday, right,
- 24:36Speaker 4: that is ridiculous.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Well how would you set it up? Then you can't
- 24:39Speaker 2: have it after a bye week because then you're cutting
- 24:41Speaker 2: the bye week down.
- 24:43Speaker 3: I wouldn't have it at all.
- 24:46Speaker 2: No primetime Thursdays.
- 24:48Speaker 3: For what Friday, Friday would be better.
- 24:55Speaker 4: Friday would actually be better. Friday would be better. You know,
- 24:58Speaker 4: there's not much football on.
- 25:00Speaker 3: You got some.
- 25:00Speaker 4: College games, but you know right, who's really watching those
- 25:05Speaker 4: unless you're a gambler.
- 25:08Speaker 2: My brother, beautiful, this beautiful blue and gold. You know
- 25:13Speaker 2: you you know, you know what it is, the hostile
- 25:15Speaker 2: pain you You you remember coming down to Moorial Stadium.
- 25:18Speaker 3: Yeah, dude, man, he look.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Getting worked over back.
- 25:23Speaker 4: Yeah we lost that game, but I had a game, boy,
- 25:27Speaker 4: I had a game.
- 25:28Speaker 3: I tell you what. That man got me drafted alone.
- 25:33Speaker 2: I say, I've been to Austin and one been. I
- 25:37Speaker 2: think I've been to aunt and lost. Maybe I don't think.
- 25:39Speaker 3: So, I've only been I only played the Memorial once. Bro,
- 25:42Speaker 3: I never wonder. It's crazy. I don't did I.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Did you have to think about it? Look at him?
- 25:50Speaker 4: Nah, not sure, didn't, But yeah, that I think maybe Friday.
- 25:54Speaker 3: But Thursday, man.
- 25:55Speaker 4: You can tell it's just guys just whooped. They whoopd
- 25:58Speaker 4: on that Thursday coming around. I think it's a lack
- 26:01Speaker 4: of interest even in playing, no preparing for it.
- 26:05Speaker 3: You can't even get your corrections from the week before.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Even if you like, oh, oh we gotta get we
- 26:11Speaker 2: gotta tighten up here. You are you you're gonna have
- 26:14Speaker 2: one quick day of a quick practice because you realize
- 26:16Speaker 2: guys are whooped, and then you're gonna go from there.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Mm hmm. It's bad. It's bad for business. And you're
- 26:22Speaker 3: adding another game at the end of the season Thursday Night.
- 26:25Speaker 4: But you know, if it wasn't for Thursday Night, I
- 26:28Speaker 4: would have never had a prime time game my four
- 26:31Speaker 4: years in Cleveland. Never we had one Thursday night game
- 26:36Speaker 4: my last year there.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Come on, man, God, that's just that's crazy.
- 26:43Speaker 3: That's tough. I was supposed to make the Pro Bowl.
- 26:48Speaker 1: H the world need to see this greatness. I'm putting
- 26:50Speaker 1: on this play.
- 26:52Speaker 3: Come on, I'm snapping.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Right, dank you, No, you can get greasy out there.
- 26:57Speaker 2: I mean, it is what it is. And talk about
- 27:00Speaker 2: now we're pushing up on playoffs.
- 27:03Speaker 3: How you feel it.
- 27:05Speaker 2: I'm feeling great.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Uh.
- 27:07Speaker 2: This this is the weirdest season I think I've ever
- 27:09Speaker 2: been a part of. I said, bro, this is I'm
- 27:12Speaker 2: in uncharted territory. This season alone, I've lost more games
- 27:15Speaker 2: at a single goal than I think I've ever had before.
- 27:17Speaker 2: We lost seven in a row this year. I said,
- 27:19Speaker 2: what the what the hell is this? I said, no,
- 27:21Speaker 2: we got We had all these starters, and you know
- 27:23Speaker 2: how football season goes. We've had a lot of injuries.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Half officer, the line went down for multiple games. The
- 27:29Speaker 2: quarterback went down for multiple games. He's down again. Running
- 27:32Speaker 2: back been down. You know, wide receivers all both our
- 27:35Speaker 2: starting receivers been down, and like half the season or
- 27:39Speaker 2: all of it.
- 27:39Speaker 4: Now you talk about not even just talented players, you
- 27:43Speaker 4: talking about emotional leaders gone absence.
- 27:48Speaker 2: It's hard.
- 27:49Speaker 1: It's hard. It's hard to win an NFL.
- 27:50Speaker 2: It's hard to win as a sports team where you
- 27:53Speaker 2: don't have your marquee guys or your your emotional foundation
- 27:56Speaker 2: guys or your hoorah guys.
- 27:59Speaker 1: The best ability is availability.
- 28:01Speaker 4: Then you got guys with no experience coming in. They
- 28:04Speaker 4: might know the playbook, but it's you know, it's fine
- 28:06Speaker 4: new theme.
- 28:07Speaker 3: My new thing is that right.
- 28:09Speaker 2: The minutia, the manusia has always been in the details,
- 28:13Speaker 2: Like you got to pay attention to the small things
- 28:15Speaker 2: because you don't the small things can become major things.
- 28:18Speaker 1: But you know, it just sort it is what it is.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Bro.
- 28:21Speaker 2: I think that it's all it's all about sort of
- 28:24Speaker 2: having that struggle of luck during the season, with with health,
- 28:27Speaker 2: with guys that know how to play through it, with
- 28:29Speaker 2: everything that goes. But you know, again, speaking of speaking
- 28:31Speaker 2: of the playoffs, I mean I'd rather transition to, uh,
- 28:34Speaker 2: just the idea of college football playoffs. You know, like
- 28:39Speaker 2: we get that the college college sort of prospects is
- 28:44Speaker 2: now all about business. This playoff situation organ's number one.
- 28:47Speaker 2: So like I mean, you know, you as a u
- 28:49Speaker 2: OFO guy, uh.
- 28:51Speaker 3: No, ducks, here we go.
- 28:54Speaker 1: You know, what is it?
- 28:55Speaker 2: What do you think the toughest the toughest path through
- 28:57Speaker 2: college football playoffs? You know you guys finish thirteen to
- 28:59Speaker 2: oh win the big, big Big ten Conference.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Oh and now you guys, you know what do you have?
- 29:05Speaker 2: You got you gotta play the winner of Ohio and Tennessee,
- 29:09Speaker 2: which Ohio you guys already beat. You know how hard
- 29:11Speaker 2: it is in college to beat the team twice?
- 29:14Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean we got we got the toughest role,
- 29:17Speaker 4: but it ain't never being easy.
- 29:18Speaker 3: So we just, you know, we gotta just go roll
- 29:21Speaker 3: with it. You can't be crying over spilled milk. We
- 29:24Speaker 3: are the dogs.
- 29:25Speaker 4: If we number one, then we we We remain number
- 29:28Speaker 4: one the whole time, no matter who we play.
- 29:30Speaker 3: So let's get it.
- 29:31Speaker 2: But number one crazy?
- 29:33Speaker 3: Now, all the tough guys stuff, that's crazy.
- 29:38Speaker 4: Ohio State. I think we'll beat them twice. We should
- 29:41Speaker 4: have blew them out the first game. The first they
- 29:44Speaker 4: had that that long pass to the tight end and
- 29:48Speaker 4: on their first drive was an interception. They end up
- 29:51Speaker 4: scoring a touchdown that drive. We get that interception. That's
- 29:54Speaker 4: so the hugest momentum swing after already going down to
- 29:57Speaker 4: score in seven, we could possibly go up fourteens in right,
- 30:01Speaker 4: So I feel.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Like in the h where will we play it? Would
- 30:05Speaker 3: it be the Rose Bull again or somewhere else. I
- 30:07Speaker 3: can't remember how that bracket is set up.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Calent is not in that. So we have not seen
- 30:14Speaker 2: a college playoff. It's you know, I'm excited that we
- 30:16Speaker 2: went to say, now we get a bowl game. Do
- 30:18Speaker 2: you think the college playoff format needs to be changed? Like,
- 30:20Speaker 2: I'm just confused with the expansion of it. How do
- 30:23Speaker 2: you guys get the tougher schedule?
- 30:25Speaker 4: I think, I mean, we already changed from the BCS format.
- 30:28Speaker 3: That was a problem.
- 30:29Speaker 4: I think from year to year to have one specific format,
- 30:34Speaker 4: it's always going to be something wrong, right because conference
- 30:36Speaker 4: and strengths changed every year. So if you were like
- 30:39Speaker 4: to say, oh, well the Big Ten and the SEC
- 30:42Speaker 4: strength to schedule, there are stronger conferences, they should have
- 30:45Speaker 4: this over those conferences and blah blah blah, change the
- 30:48Speaker 4: brackets up to where they get easier ways.
- 30:50Speaker 3: To the championship.
- 30:52Speaker 4: Well that may be this five years, but what about
- 30:54Speaker 4: in the next five years in the ACC like when
- 30:57Speaker 4: Clemson was kicking ass every year, you know, and somebody
- 31:00Speaker 4: else in another conference, then it's gonna be skewed again.
- 31:02Speaker 4: So you kind of just man, you can't you can't
- 31:05Speaker 4: complain about everything. At some point, man, everybody's gonna have
- 31:09Speaker 4: the bone to pick. You go twelve teams, You're gonna
- 31:12Speaker 4: go fifteen, I mean sixteen eighteen teams?
- 31:14Speaker 3: Right, Like, is it a playoffs? Then? No? Not really?
- 31:21Speaker 1: These are these are.
- 31:24Speaker 4: So I mean, shoot, next year we get in the bracket,
- 31:29Speaker 4: maybe a lower seed with an easier path.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Mm. So never know, Hey, be grateful, got it, Be grateful,
- 31:38Speaker 1: be happy.
- 31:38Speaker 3: You in there, You in there, You got.
- 31:40Speaker 1: A chance because you know us, you.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Know we play early.
- 31:44Speaker 3: In December, and that's our last game for sure, the
- 31:49Speaker 3: Chester Cheeto Bowl.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Yeah, with our quarterback hitting the transfer portal, like, hey, bro,
- 31:53Speaker 2: like what you're doing?
