- 1:23Speaker 1: You can also subscribe it if you have it. If
- 1:25Speaker 1: you'd like to see how I do what I do.
- 1:27Speaker 1: I'm not doing any magic tricks, but you know what
- 1:29Speaker 1: I'm saying. See my facial expressions as I'm speaking, but
- 1:34Speaker 1: the goal for twenty twenty five was five thousand subscribers
- 1:37Speaker 1: on our YouTube channel, and we're already at forty three hundred,
- 1:44Speaker 1: which is crazy. I might have to bump it up
- 1:47Speaker 1: to ten thousand if we hit five thousand, let's say,
- 1:51Speaker 1: by the end of February. If you're from the future
- 1:53Speaker 1: and you have already seen it, I'm at one hundred k.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Get your ass out here. But I appreciate you though.
- 1:58Speaker 1: I appreciate you from the future and letting us all up.
- 2:02Speaker 1: But I'm saying, if by the end of February we
- 2:07Speaker 1: hit five thousand subscribers, then I'm just gonna go ahead
- 2:11Speaker 1: and bump the total to ten thousand. Why not they
- 2:14Speaker 1: call me Vegas and bet big? Why not fulltane forever?
- 2:18Speaker 1: If you're watching a video. But yeah, so that's it's
- 2:23Speaker 1: pretty dope. I preach everybody who watches the videos. Whether
- 2:27Speaker 1: you watch my weekly news video which is Hip Hop
- 2:30Speaker 1: Now podcasts, or you like the shorts I post on YouTube,
- 2:37Speaker 1: that's dope as well. And if you like the special
- 2:42Speaker 1: episodes right the live streams, the big time album reviews.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I'm thinking about a Super Bowl halftime review depending on
- 2:51Speaker 1: what happens, so stay tuned for that. Videos like WWE
- 3:00Speaker 1: two K whatever, it's coming up real quick on this channel.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Rap and bull Ish Royal Rumble if you don't know
- 3:08Speaker 1: what that is. That's when I basically take the latest
- 3:13Speaker 1: WWE game and I create a thirty man Royal Rumble
- 3:17Speaker 1: match and it's all custom wrestlers that just so happen
- 3:23Speaker 1: to be all rappers, and it's pretty dope to watch,
- 3:26Speaker 1: you know. You get to root for your favorite past
- 3:28Speaker 1: and presents president those that have passed away rest in
- 3:32Speaker 1: peace also are included, like Easy sometimes DMX, stuff like that,
- 3:37Speaker 1: and it's just all out battle royal Royal Rumble style
- 3:41Speaker 1: right here on the channel tends to do well, you know,
- 3:44Speaker 1: because it's fun to just watch the computer and just
- 3:47Speaker 1: beat each other up. But they rappers and they got
- 3:49Speaker 1: the outfits on it and all that, so stay tuned for that.
- 3:53Speaker 1: But also on the YouTube channel right now, and those
- 3:57Speaker 1: on the audio side also have it the latest episode
- 4:01Speaker 1: of that Time in Hip Hop featuring my partner in
- 4:05Speaker 1: ron Tony from Into the Dome podcast also right here
- 4:09Speaker 1: on YouTube, and the podcast, if you don't know, is
- 4:14Speaker 1: really about historical moments and albums and figures and films
- 4:20Speaker 1: and stuff like that within hip hop's history. And this
- 4:25Speaker 1: latest episode is about the blog era, you know, and
- 4:29Speaker 1: if you don't know what the blog era is, like, yeah,
- 4:31Speaker 1: what is that. That's a time during the digital age,
- 4:36Speaker 1: the early two thousands twenty tens, where you had mixtape
- 4:41Speaker 1: websites and music discovery on different websites, stuff like that.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Pith also the types of mixtapes that were dropping. Once
- 4:51Speaker 1: upon a time, mixtapes were actually DJ's mixing, and then
- 4:55Speaker 1: it evolved into you know, exclusive records from differ for artists.
- 5:01Speaker 1: But somewhere along the time of the two thousands, really
- 5:07Speaker 1: that blog era, a lot of artists, especially newer artists,
- 5:11Speaker 1: started putting out projects that contain on mixtapes that contained
- 5:18Speaker 1: original beats. And there's a ton of them. Series classic
- 5:23Speaker 1: series of albums anywhere from you being introduced to Drake
- 5:28Speaker 1: to j Cole's Run Wiz Khalifa, Odd Future like, it's
- 5:33Speaker 1: just so many currency Shout out to Lloyd Banks, That's
- 5:38Speaker 1: where I discovered on that Pith on his Halloween Havoc series,
- 5:43Speaker 1: which I think is criminally slept on, criminally slept on
- 5:48Speaker 1: so many dope editions And this was before, because I
- 5:53Speaker 1: know a lot of people like what about fab and
- 5:54Speaker 1: the soul tape that was The blog era was over
- 5:58Speaker 1: fan by the time that happened, but the mixtape game
- 6:01Speaker 1: was still somewhat there. But we're really talking about those
- 6:05Speaker 1: early twenty twenty, you know, early twenty tens where it
- 6:10Speaker 1: was popping. So you could check that out right here
- 6:12Speaker 1: on the channel. It's a lot of content, a lot
- 6:15Speaker 1: of history, a lot of context. But we're here to
- 6:20Speaker 1: do something else. Big shout out to hip HOPDX dot com,
- 6:25Speaker 1: Double exl mag and a couple of places where I
- 6:28Speaker 1: get my stories from. Let's get right into the business though,
- 6:30Speaker 1: let me get the hip hop bos Alchemists, two Chains
- 6:37Speaker 1: and Larry June teaming up for a joint album. Now.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I know you may be saying to yourself, who who
- 6:49Speaker 1: and maybe who if you're not really locked in the
- 6:52Speaker 1: hip hop like that, Maybe you know Alchemists, Maybe no
- 6:55Speaker 1: two Chains, maybe you know Larry June. The name of
- 7:01Speaker 1: the album is going to be called Life is Beautiful.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Let's see if there is a release date here. This
- 7:10Speaker 1: is coming from Hip Hop DX. It was a song
- 7:13Speaker 1: was posted on Alchemist's a video actually for a song
- 7:17Speaker 1: called bad Choices was posted on Alchemist's ig. The trio
- 7:22Speaker 1: released the first single, and it's a company video, Bad Choices,
- 7:26Speaker 1: earlier this month, though they didn't reveal that a full
- 7:29Speaker 1: project was on the way, so I think there's probably
- 7:35Speaker 1: like three three songs available. I'm not seeing a date though,
- 7:41Speaker 1: so obviously, if they are releasing this quick, this album
- 7:46Speaker 1: is probably right around the corner. If we're just keeping
- 7:50Speaker 1: a buck, it's probably on the way now. How do
- 7:54Speaker 1: I feel about this personally? How you feel? Comments in
- 8:00Speaker 1: the comments section below. I'm not mad at the combination.
- 8:06Speaker 1: I mean, obviously I like Alchemists. I don't like everything
- 8:09Speaker 1: he produces, but typically I like most of it. Two Chains,
- 8:15Speaker 1: I know when he's asked to step in that hip
- 8:17Speaker 1: hop bag, he shows up, right, he shows up. I
- 8:20Speaker 1: don't care what you feel about his trap music. When
- 8:24Speaker 1: he had the best verse on Daylight Soul's, one of
- 8:28Speaker 1: the songs he was on on their album, I was like, Wow,
- 8:31Speaker 1: that's crazy. Two change Why two change? Garrat he had
- 8:36Speaker 1: a dope song that was on Eminem's last album that
- 8:41Speaker 1: I thought he kind of killed that. So Larry June
- 8:46Speaker 1: is a dude who I'm kind of hit or miss
- 8:48Speaker 1: with I know everybody loves the album he did. I
- 8:51Speaker 1: think it's called The Great Escape with Alchemists, but the
- 8:57Speaker 1: Disinterested Flow it's just doesn't do anything for me. When
- 9:03Speaker 1: I say the Disinterested Flow, I mean Larry June, Body James.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Body James for sure sometimes rock Marciana, right, but he
- 9:18Speaker 1: but he kind of always kind of rapped like that,
- 9:20Speaker 1: and it's more aggressive than those other two, I thanm so's.
- 9:27Speaker 1: It's probably unfair to include him, but Body James and
- 9:30Speaker 1: Larry Junes should be enough now. With Larry June specifically,
- 9:35Speaker 1: even though I wasn't the biggest fan of The Great Escape,
- 9:38Speaker 1: I think that was because Alcami's beats weren't like they
- 9:44Speaker 1: just didn't match with him. I just didn't really care
- 9:47Speaker 1: for it that much. But then Larry June put out
- 9:49Speaker 1: a joint that was more The Beasts were more like
- 9:54Speaker 1: West Coast laid Back Ride two Beats, and then I
- 9:57Speaker 1: was like, Okay, if he does this, I might be
- 10:01Speaker 1: alone for the Ride. Am I anticipating this album? Not really?
- 10:07Speaker 1: If it was canceled tomorrow, I'd be like okay, But
- 10:13Speaker 1: well I listened to it, of course. I mean it's
- 10:16Speaker 1: enough there that I like that, I'm willing to check
- 10:19Speaker 1: it out and I get the feeling. I mean, I've
- 10:23Speaker 1: heard the singles, so it's kind of in that, even
- 10:26Speaker 1: with two chains, it's kind of in that disinterested laying
- 10:31Speaker 1: a little bit. But again, like I said before, listening
- 10:36Speaker 1: to singles nowadays, you just never have an idea of
- 10:39Speaker 1: what the entire album sounds like. Sometimes the songs fit
- 10:44Speaker 1: within the mode or within the sequence of records that
- 10:48Speaker 1: make them sound better, or at least you understand the
- 10:51Speaker 1: context in which it was created to based on where
- 10:56Speaker 1: it lands within the album, if that makes sense. So
- 11:01Speaker 1: I'm not excited, but I'm definitely curious, and I think
- 11:06Speaker 1: coming out of the gate for twenty twenty five, as
- 11:09Speaker 1: far as albums goes go, it's been it's been slow.
- 11:15Speaker 1: So Boston, it's been a little bit slow, which is
- 11:18Speaker 1: not bad. I mean, we're only really hitting February and
- 11:22Speaker 1: things should start to pick up now and you know,
- 11:26Speaker 1: obviously as we head into the spring. So we'll see.
- 11:30Speaker 1: It is definitely piquing my interest and who knows, maybe
- 11:33Speaker 1: I like it, So we'll see. Rocks and Chantey is
- 11:39Speaker 1: going to receive the Grammys Lifetime Achievement Award now, I
- 11:44Speaker 1: definitely I'm not trying to throw shade at all. Roxy
- 11:48Speaker 1: and Chantey is a pioneer in the ramp games, especially
- 11:54Speaker 1: for female MC's, especially on some battle rap stuff because
- 12:00Speaker 1: that's how she came out the gate as a teenager,
- 12:03Speaker 1: just like yo Utfo and all of that. So even
- 12:09Speaker 1: though I know the Grammys in recent years have gotten
- 12:12Speaker 1: their hip hop, especially for the album probably mainly when
- 12:17Speaker 1: it comes to the Album of the Year, they've gotten it
- 12:20Speaker 1: right in most cases as far as not overlooking the
- 12:23Speaker 1: best of the best, you know, or at least if
- 12:28Speaker 1: you have your top albums of the year right and
- 12:32Speaker 1: you pull up I ordered something from grub Hub, it
- 12:37Speaker 1: is on the way. Uh. If if you have a
- 12:44Speaker 1: top five or best of the Year list, and let's
- 12:48Speaker 1: say the Grammys has five nominations for Album of the Year,
- 12:53Speaker 1: maybe three or all or on your list, and they're
- 12:57Speaker 1: doing they're doing good. And I think they've been doing that.
- 13:01Speaker 1: So this is interesting because I never thought that Roxane
- 13:07Speaker 1: Seante would get this kind of award from the Grammys
- 13:11Speaker 1: because as far as I know, she's not ever been
- 13:15Speaker 1: nominated for a Grammy or one one unless she has
- 13:18Speaker 1: in another capacity that I know of, so let's go
- 13:22Speaker 1: to hip HOPDX dot com. Rok Shan. Shante has been
- 13:25Speaker 1: a pioneer and trailblazer since Roxane's Revenge in nineteen eighty four,
- 13:29Speaker 1: so it should be no surprise that she's making history
- 13:32Speaker 1: yet again, this time as the first solo female rapper
- 13:36Speaker 1: to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Recording Academy.
- 13:41Speaker 1: The award, given to performers who during their lifetimes have
- 13:45Speaker 1: made creative contributions about standing artistic significance to the field
- 13:50Speaker 1: of recording, will be presented on Saturday, February first. Okay,
- 13:57Speaker 1: I need some more receipts pop figures who had previously
- 14:01Speaker 1: received Donna, Okay, Run, DMC, Public Enemy, Grand Master, Flash
- 14:06Speaker 1: of the series five, Salt and Pepper n W. A. Well,
- 14:09Speaker 1: there you have it. That kind of that explains it
- 14:12Speaker 1: for me now it makes sense. It's it's almost like
- 14:18Speaker 1: we recognizing pioneers in a hip hop game. And I
- 14:21Speaker 1: just said that about Rocks and Seante is not debatable.
- 14:25Speaker 1: She's the blueprint for not all, for most female mcs
- 14:33Speaker 1: because not only was she doing it at an early
- 14:36Speaker 1: time in hip hop, but she was the probably the
- 14:40Speaker 1: first time you know there was any real focus on
- 14:45Speaker 1: a female MC. She's not the first female MC ever,
- 14:49Speaker 1: so oh stop, don't do that. But as far as
- 14:54Speaker 1: being dope like really dope like could probably take on men.
- 14:59Speaker 1: And I know there's probably somebody you know that I
- 15:03Speaker 1: don't know where there's no music or stuff like that,
- 15:06Speaker 1: but just remember this. It doesn't mean that earlier pioneers
- 15:12Speaker 1: who paved a way for her don't deserve recognition. It's
- 15:16Speaker 1: just that this has to do with her being a
- 15:19Speaker 1: professional recording artist. Okay, And I know it's a rabbit hole.
- 15:25Speaker 1: You'd be like, well, wait a minute, M see La
- 15:28Speaker 1: La La La La had an album on Turtle Records
- 15:32Speaker 1: back a man we don't know her Roxane Jonte. Okay,
- 15:35Speaker 1: that's it, so it'll be interesting. I'm interested in seeing
- 15:41Speaker 1: what her speech is but this so we'll see. And lastly,
- 15:51Speaker 1: so apparently rock camp launched a new finance act that
- 15:57Speaker 1: is supposed to be by AI artificial intelligence, and it
- 16:06Speaker 1: allows you to ask questions of rockam with an AI
- 16:14Speaker 1: powered RAH feature, which is interesting. So let's see. This
- 16:24Speaker 1: is also piggybacking off of a hip hop DX article.
- 16:31Speaker 1: I don't think I like this description but I'm gonna
- 16:32Speaker 1: read it anyway. Independent urban music artists and creators often
- 16:36Speaker 1: struggle to gain financial stability despite their market impact. Rock
- 16:43Speaker 1: Cam explained with Notes, We're building a community and lifestyle
- 16:48Speaker 1: driven platform that combindes cultural connection, technology, and empowerment to
- 16:55Speaker 1: give them the tools they need to thrive. Notes is
- 16:59Speaker 1: led by rock Kim and longtime associated Divine. The latter
- 17:04Speaker 1: says that the app exists to empower and support artists
- 17:08Speaker 1: and creators in the urban community who have been underserved
- 17:12Speaker 1: and exploited for so long. This is interesting. Let me see,
- 17:20Speaker 1: is there a way to look at how it works.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Notes exist to connect artists with lenders and creditors while
- 17:27Speaker 1: educating them about money. But its most notable feature is
- 17:31Speaker 1: as Rack, which the company describes as an AI voice assistant,
- 17:36Speaker 1: an agent in the iconic voice of Rokkim. Purpose Rockim
- 17:42Speaker 1: purpose built for independent urban maybe purposely built for independent
- 17:49Speaker 1: urban music artists and creators. So the Rockim side of
- 17:55Speaker 1: it is obviously he agrees with what this is and
- 18:01Speaker 1: how it could help independent artists from urban backgrounds, according
- 18:08Speaker 1: to them, and one of the features is that you
- 18:16Speaker 1: know you if you have questions AI Artificial intelligence Skynet
- 18:23Speaker 1: rock m will answer them. I have one question for
- 18:28Speaker 1: AI rock Cam. How do I get paid in full?
- 18:32Speaker 1: I probably wouldn't do that or say that, but I
- 18:35Speaker 1: will say this. I think I think it's good man.
- 18:40Speaker 1: I mean, I think it's to me. Let me just
- 18:43Speaker 1: say this before I ended off. This is to me.
- 18:48Speaker 1: And I'm not knocking anybody's hustle, but to me, this
- 18:51Speaker 1: is ten times better. Then Hey, y'all, let's collaborate. Pay
- 18:56Speaker 1: me for a feature. Now, some people will pay for
- 19:00Speaker 1: a feature, and in some cases, you know, the rappers
- 19:05Speaker 1: show up right like I think sky Zoo does it,
- 19:08Speaker 1: but he never sounds disconnected from the artists, so to speak,
- 19:14Speaker 1: like some artists to it. Some artists will hit you
- 19:17Speaker 1: with the bitcoin, you know, if check out my bigcoin
- 19:22Speaker 1: my crypto currency thing, you know, and what's the other
- 19:27Speaker 1: one that I can't remember now with the art, the
- 19:30Speaker 1: AI art, you know, there's plenty of rappers that hit
- 19:33Speaker 1: you with that. To me, all useless, right, all useless?
- 19:39Speaker 1: All yo, I'm putting the album together. Everybody come on
- 19:42Speaker 1: and then it's like some mixtape that they barely even
- 19:45Speaker 1: promote or whatever, but everybody had to pay to be featured.
- 19:48Speaker 1: I get it, but this can also be looking that
- 19:53Speaker 1: like that because of you know, credit and stuff like that,
- 19:57Speaker 1: But it also offers an opportunity for you to learn right,
- 20:02Speaker 1: and financial literacy doesn't only play urban artists. It plagues
- 20:10Speaker 1: ghettos because you don't grow up with parents who are
- 20:17Speaker 1: typically financially literate right to a degree that could help you. Right.
- 20:24Speaker 1: There's certain things where my mother used to be like,
- 20:26Speaker 1: don't get a credit card. That was her telling me,
- 20:29Speaker 1: That was her educating me, but she never really was
- 20:33Speaker 1: saying why and going deep with it. So I think
- 20:37Speaker 1: this is an example, and I'm just using myself as
- 20:40Speaker 1: an example. Obviously my mother wasn't that bad finances, but
- 20:46Speaker 1: most people struggle, you know what I'm saying, because of
- 20:51Speaker 1: you know, looking at credit as an option or whatever
- 20:54Speaker 1: it may be. And so I look at something like
- 20:56Speaker 1: this with this app being a tool that can help
- 21:01Speaker 1: those who want it, right. I guess it's just like
- 21:04Speaker 1: with the crypto and bitcoin stuff. If you want it
- 21:10Speaker 1: and your favorite rapper is offering it, you know, then
- 21:13Speaker 1: you're gonna go for it. But I think this is
- 21:15Speaker 1: just a little bit more helpful because is knowledge to
- 21:19Speaker 1: be learned now I haven't looked at the asks, so
- 21:21Speaker 1: I don't know if you have to sign up, do something,
- 21:24Speaker 1: buy something, invest something before you can use AI rock
- 21:29Speaker 1: him and ask some questions, you know, like he's a
- 21:34Speaker 1: part of a package when you sign up, or if
- 21:37Speaker 1: you can go in there and ask him some basic
- 21:40Speaker 1: questions before you sign up. So I'm not sure. I'm
- 21:43Speaker 1: personally not interested, but it doesn't mean that it's a
- 21:46Speaker 1: bad thing for you. And I think it's dope for
- 21:50Speaker 1: Rock Him to do something like this, especially at this
- 21:54Speaker 1: point in his career when he can really just be
- 21:56Speaker 1: concerned about himself. So what do you think? Are you
- 22:00Speaker 1: going to sign up for rock ems AI at you
- 22:03Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, to be financially literate if you're
- 22:07Speaker 1: not already, you know, are you looking forward to an alchemist?
- 22:12Speaker 1: Larry June and Two Chains Project. Leave your comments in

- 22:53Speaker 1: to be crazy based
