- 2:30bit later on to talk Live on the Levee. Not just Jim will be
- 2:35here talking about Live on the Levee, but we've also got one of the
- 2:38members of the Weekend Warriors who's going to be playing tonight at Live on the
- 2:42Levee. She will be stopping by, as will Josh Pantry, who's i
- 2:47mean a big time star not only West Virginia but in really this part of
- 2:51the country, and he's going to be playing at Live on the Levee,
- 2:53and either are all going to stop by the studio. Plus a visit from
- 2:57my man Steve Animal from her sister station nine eight seven a mile because Animal
- 3:00is going to be hanging out down there tonight at Live on the Levee as
- 3:04well. From what I understand, Kent Wilson for Bridge Valley is going to
- 3:07be stopping by a little bit later on, and of course we're going to
- 3:10get into some some debate talk the debate presidential debate. First one was held
- 3:16last night. I am actually, though, more interested in your take on
- 3:22the debate rather than mine. So here's what I'm going to do in this
- 3:24show. Little's gonna be a little bit different than normal Friday show. I'm
- 3:28going to go ahead now and throughout the text line you know it big lely
- 3:31piggy wiggily hotlined. You know that three zero four three four five fifty eight
- 3:35fifty eight. That's the phone number, but the text line is three zero
- 3:38four nine three five five zero zero eights. I am throughout the show going
- 3:44to try to get as many comments. We'll get the calls if we get
- 3:46in a little bit later on, but I'm going to try to get as
- 3:49many comments as I can on your take on the debate last nights. It's
- 3:53three zero four nine three five five zero zero eight. That is the text
- 3:58line, give me some text let me know what you think, what you
- 4:01thought of the debate last night, And I am going to get into that
- 4:04a little bit later on in the show. Now, normally at this time
- 4:09we would have her good friend Hannah Gardner from the Kenaw Charles Humaine Association with
- 4:12this week's Adopt Me Please Pet of the Week. Well we got half of
- 4:15that. We do have the pets, but we don't have the Hannah.
- 4:17Hannah had her prior commitment, she and the folks at the Humane Association of
- 4:21Guy to an event going on, and so she was unable to be here
- 4:26today, but late last night, as she always does, she set me
- 4:30up with our pet of the week, and as always our pet is posted.
- 4:33You can go check out the picture of Charlie on Dave Allen Radio or
- 4:40at Dave A seventy of the Dave Allen Show on X. The artist formerly
- 4:42known as Twitter. Charlie is a great looking dog eight months old, newtered,
- 4:47vaccinated and micron shipped. Came in as astray, absolutely loves to play.
- 4:55Hannah tells me that Charlie is a playgroup rock star and that's about as
- 5:00far as playful dogs go. That is about as high in honor I think
- 5:03as you can get. He's a playgroup rockstar. He loves kids, he
- 5:10loves other dogs, and check this out, he even loves rabbits. He's
- 5:15a rabbit fan. I loves to play with them, not eat them.
- 5:17He's around thirty eight pounds again, eight months old. Came into the strait,
- 5:20so I don't really know a whole lot about Charlie's background. He is
- 5:25neutered, he is vaxed, he's microchipped, and he is ready to join
- 5:28your family. He is an absolutely beautiful dog. So if you get a
- 5:31chance, cruise on over to my social media. It's Dave Allen Radio on
- 5:34Facebook or at Dave A seventy or the Dave Alan Show on X check out
- 5:39Charlie's picture. Would love to get Charlie adopted again. Eight months old,
- 5:42neutered, vaccinated, microchip, loves to play, loves other dogs, loves
- 5:46kids, even loves to play with rabbits. So if you've got a place
- 5:48to run and you've got rabbits, all Charlie is going to want to do
- 5:51is play with the rabbits. From what Hannah tells me, and around thirty
- 5:55eight pounds is Charlie. So go check out Charlie and again next we will
- 6:00not be doing a show next Friday, so no Hannah next week. Hannah
- 6:02will return on the following Friday. So go check out Charlie and let's go
- 6:06get our adopt please pet of the Week Adopted. The Dave Allen Show and
- 6:11five Idy Live is presented in part by General Hardware Windfield of Milton, General
- 6:15number of Winfield for all projects big and small shop locally visit General Hardware WV
- 6:19dot com. Now again a little bit later on, we are going to
- 6:23be joined by Jim Strawn and some of the performers tonight from Live on the
- 6:27Levee, plus Steve Animal will be stopping by, and a little later on
- 6:30Kent Wilson from Bridge Valley is going to join us to update us on some
- 6:32things going on there. I want to though at this time sas we didn't
- 6:36have Hannah, this actually kind of worked out great, although we always miss
- 6:40Hannah. Gives me an opportunity to give a little debate talk in here.
- 6:44Last night's debate, let me just say this, and this is my opinion,
- 6:51but I am much more interested in your opinion. So even though we're
- 6:54going to be talking about other things live on the Levee and so on and
- 6:57so forth, load me up with the text and I will read them back
- 7:00at the end of the show. Text line again for Fruth is three zero
- 7:03four nine three five five zero zero eight three zero four nine three five five
- 7:08zero zero eight, or you can call me later on in the show at
- 7:11three zero four, three four five fifty eight fifty eight. All right.
- 7:14So, so my take under the late last night it was a and I'm
- 7:18putting politics all politics are going aside here, all right. It was a
- 7:25really really sad night for President Joe Biden. And despite a lot of the
- 7:32lies and the gaffs of former President Donald Trump this morning or even late last
- 7:40night, because I stayed up way too late last night, you know,
- 7:43looking at analysis and going from the different networks and so on and so forth,
- 7:46I will say this, No one or very few people are talking about
- 7:54Donald Trump this morning. They are talking about the abilities of President Joe Biden
- 8:01to continue. That's what they're talking about right now. That's all anybody's talking
- 8:05about. And you know, I am not a Joe Biden fan, and
- 8:09you know me well nothing. No. I'm also not a Donald Trump fan.
- 8:13I was, but not so much these days. But I will say
- 8:16this, if anyone had any further questions about the abilities of Joe Biden,
- 8:28I would say this to you with all due respect to the President. And
- 8:31I'm a person who believes that whoever is in the White House is the president.
- 8:37You know you've heard me say, I don't play this not my president
- 8:39thing. Joe Biden is the duly elected president of the United States of America,
- 8:43as was Donald Trump, as was Bill Clinton, so on, so
- 8:46in Barack Obama, so on and so forth, with all due respect reverence
- 8:50to the presidency and the President Biden. If you think that Joe Biden has
- 8:58got both or in the water, you need to go back and watch the
- 9:01video from last night. I I seriously felt bad for the guy. Politics
- 9:13aside, and the question I would ask is where where is his family?
- 9:20To stop this? And if the Democrat Party has their heads their collective heads
- 9:28in the sand and so far that they can't see this, then they're more
- 9:35They're more delusional than I thought. State Democratic Party chair Mike Pushkin is scheduled
- 9:43to be on talk line with hoppy this morning, and I will be listening
- 9:48for sure, because I don't know how the Democrat Party moves on from this.
- 9:54Last night, after the debate, I chose to watch the post game,
- 10:01if you will, on CNN, and I'm going to tell you,
- 10:05folks, it was like a funeral scene. I have never seen such long
- 10:11faces in my life. And even CNN, and I don't know what they've
- 10:18said this morning, but even CNN in the post debate coverage last night,
- 10:22even the folks at CNN saw the writing on the wall and it was again.
- 10:31I was watching it on ABC, but when it was over, I
- 10:33flipped over to CNN and they have a panel. There's some Republicans there,
- 10:37but mainly Democrats. I don't know how many eight people maybe there, and
- 10:41it was like none of them knew what to say about the horrible and sad
- 10:46performance of Joe Biden last night. And again I'm not saying that Trump.
- 10:52Did you know Trump was Trump? You knew what Trump was going to do.
- 10:58He was gonna exaggerate, He's gonna tell lies. That's what he did,
- 11:01all right, But nobody's talking about that this morning. They're not talking
- 11:05to it, and they're not talking about Donald Trump. They're talking about how
- 11:09does the Democrat Party move on from this? And do they move on somehow
- 11:13from from Joe Biden, because it's time, it is more more than time.
- 11:22You cannot with a with a clear conscience. I don't know how you
- 11:28could, if you could, to tell me that Joe Biden needs to be
- 11:33up there, that's just my take. I'm more interested in your take.
- 11:39And I've already got a bunch of texts to get to. So we're gonna
- 11:41What we're gonna do is we're gonna talking about Live on the levee here in
- 11:43a couple of moments in I've got Kent coming in from from Bridge Valley,
- 11:48Kent Wilson a little bit later on the show. But I'm gonna be collecting
- 11:54you will, We're collecting the text here this morning, so you can you
- 11:58can send them to me and I'll read them as best I can. Let
- 12:01me knock out a couple just in case I don't get time before the break,
- 12:05Texas Dave. When all media outlets had the same message, then you
- 12:09know something is not right, and that is Biden. The Dems are panicking,
- 12:15and rightfully so. Biden confirmed last night he is not physically or mentally
- 12:20able to run this country. It is not about Republican or Democrat any longer,
- 12:26says a texture. Texter says, did you see the tweets by the
- 12:31official Twitter account of the Democrat Party? They posted a picture of Biden in
- 12:35shades and said he was the winner? That is offensive. How do they
- 12:39lie so easily after what all of us saw? Lies, lies and damned
- 12:43lies, says a Texter. Tex says, here's the thing. We can't
- 12:48blame these two candidates. We have what we have because the people nominated these
- 12:52guys. The American people are to blame, says a Text Texas says.
- 12:58Whoever let Biden get on that stage needs to be fired. I'm wondering if
- 13:01he's been in debate prep or in the hospital the last week. Texas Dave
- 13:09Biden answered every question ask of him. Trump did not. Trump lied every
- 13:13time he answered a question. Trump could not remember what happened four years ago.
- 13:16Right, I agree, I one hundred percent agree with that. You're
- 13:20not gonna hear me argue that. But what are people talking about this morning?
- 13:24I'm not talking about me. I'm talking about what's CNN talk or at
- 13:28least what they were last night. I got a I got a TV on
- 13:31here in the studio and and and all it is is and it's not Fox
- 13:35News because I don't watch Fox News. Okay, what it is is people
- 13:39talking about Biden's age and ability. Tex says it was a sad state of
- 13:43affairs. Last night. The whole world was able to see just how diminish
- 13:48President Biden has become. It's truly sad. Trump, on the other hand,
- 13:52is the same blank that he's always been. Yeah, yeah, I
- 13:56agreed. Tex said, ask yourself, do you want freedom or do you
- 14:01want a dictator? Well, I don't want either one of those. On
- 14:03stage, that's me. I don't want either one of them. I've said
- 14:07that before. I mean uh and I mean no. No. I'm not
- 14:11voting for Donald Trump. I've said that before. I've voted for him twice,
- 14:13not again. And if you think I'm gonna vote for Joe Biden,
- 14:18I'm gonna write in Ryan Nicholson. That's what I'm going to write in the
- 14:20producer Ryan Nicholson, because you know there'd be snacks. They're Ryan Nicholson,
- 14:26my producer. There will be snacks in the heart of West Virginia, there
- 14:30exists a profound force that goes beyond the realm with sports, transcending limitations and

- 14:50going to take a break. We're back after this to talk live on the
- 14:52levee. We'll talk with Kent's from Bridge Valley a little bit later on,
- 14:56and we are also going to get back to your te or calls about the

- 20:18late night after party over at Bar one oh one. You're invited. Wait,
- 20:22wait a minute, you are having a party. That's so unlike you,
- 20:26Steven. I know, I'm very much a homebody. It's just not
- 20:32in his own home. It's in somebody whoever's until the end of the cops
- 20:34get called and say you get off my couch. Yes, but it's gonna
- 20:37be awesome night tonight. All right, let me bring in Josh here for
- 20:40a moment. Josh, Josh Pantry, of course, has been made quite
- 20:42a name for himself here, not only West Virginia, but all over.
- 20:45I don't think. Thanks. First time I've ever had you on the show,
- 20:48first time we've ever actually officially, Matt, how you doing, man,
- 20:49good, nice to meet you. How are you? I am doing
- 20:52great? So from Josh Pantry, give me a little bit of your bio.
- 20:56Where are you from? How'd you get here? I'm from Campbell's Creek
- 20:59now is that downtown Campbell's Creekery? From a suburb eight miles up there,
- 21:03So pretty far. And I've got my start playing in Charleston. I used
- 21:07played at the Boulevard Tavern for a cheeseburger and a bar tab for Paul Greco
- 21:11many years ago and just never gave up. Been staying at it and been
- 21:17releasing original music. And last year we hit about ninety seven shows and across
- 21:22seven states. We were in a van every weekend and live in the American
- 21:26dream Man. As a musician, absolutely, I'm still working a day job,
- 21:30but we are grounding as hard as we can, and we're happy to
- 21:33be here on the headlining spot and I'm very excited for tonight. So I
- 21:38know musicians get this question all the time, and sometimes they like it,
- 21:41sometimes they don't. You just got to kind of embrace it. If people
- 21:45have never heard your music, I don't want to say who do you sound
- 21:48like? Because I think that's insulting to musicians, But who are some of
- 21:51your influences influenced A lot about Hank Williams Junior, one of my favorite artists,
- 21:55and I get influences from all different genres, So you're going to hear
- 21:59a lot of different things that you probably wouldn't expect to hear from a country
- 22:02band. I know we're in the country genre, but we draw a lot
- 22:04of inspiration from rock, pop, pop punk. So you're gonna you're in
- 22:11for a treat. So Hank Junior to pop punk? Is that what you're
- 22:12saying. That's kind of getting to Hank the third there if you get us
- 22:15up tonight. Yeah, So it sounds like people are gonna have a good
- 22:18time when they come, when they come to you and you. I mean,
- 22:22I've followed you on social media. Josh again, we're talking with Josh
- 22:25Pantry. He was going to be playing Live on the Levee tonight. Uh,
- 22:27you got quite a following on social media as well, and to the
- 22:30point that I've seen like maybe Live on the Levee from a couple of years
- 22:33ago or some of the other musical activities, people saying, like someone thinking
- 22:37hashtag where's Josh, where's Josh? We want Josh? You got quite a
- 22:41fan base, and I know they can't all be your relatives only half,
- 22:45but take what I don't know if you remember, they harassed Ben Selango to
- 22:52make me part of the Dirty Birds, Down and Dirty because it was presented
- 22:55by Selango and he, you know, he didn't really have anything to do
- 22:59with it, but they were message in the poor man they found his personal
- 23:00Facebook. So yeah, the pantry people come out and groves for sure.
- 23:04Now what you call them? The pantry people? That was spur of the
- 23:08moment. I think we might start rolling with that. Maybe pantry posse,
- 23:12the pantry posse. Yeah, yeah, yeah, good stuff. So we
- 23:15also had the Weekend Warriors that are going to be playing tonight. Nicki is
- 23:19here. Hey Nicki, how are you? Good morning? I'm awesome.
- 23:22I'm so stoked for tonight. Now give me the background on the Weekend Warriors.
- 23:26Yeah, so the Weekend Warriors was created in a funny way. I
- 23:29had been doing music since about twelve years old. I had fronted the Audio
- 23:33Outlaws for several years, and after I had my son, I took a
- 23:37break from music and I thought that I was quitting music forever. Then I
- 23:41got a phone call from Travis over here. He said, just come out
- 23:44and do one acoustic show. Well, last year we played one hundred and
- 23:47sixty five shows. Mister Daniel Farrell here, he joined us, and it
- 23:52just blew up from there. And like Josh said, we really identify as
- 23:56a country music group. But coming to one of our shows kind of feels
- 24:02like you're driving down the road and flipping through the radio stations and it's just
- 24:04random and fun and I think everybody is just going to have a class.
- 24:10Yeah. Now, now, now where are you from? I am originally
- 24:14from Cabin Creeks. I'm a Creaker too, so it's like rise up of
- 24:15the Creakers, all the Creeks, all the Creeks said, and where's the
- 24:18band? Identify the people in your band where they're from? Dan, I'm
- 24:22Daniel Farrell. I actually live in Cloding, So I'm a Cabal County boy.
- 24:26Okay, man, I'm in Cross Lanes all right. And that's uh
- 24:30uh well, o there you go. So you got all the c's represented
- 24:33here too, the Triple C band. And so you said your influences and
- 24:37what is a little bit of everything from Fleetwood Mac to Patsy Klein too.
- 24:42Well, and that's what and that's what I have always said, and I'm
- 24:45a music geek. I'm just a geek in general, but I thought I'm
- 24:48a music geek, and I have always said that. You know, people
- 24:52that say I only I like rock, I like rap, I like country
- 24:55whatever. You're selling yourself so short, because there's so many genres out there.
- 25:00And that's what you're seeing more and more of now is people that are
- 25:04feeling free to say look, and sometimes you got to battle record companies because
- 25:10record companies want to put everybody in a box, and you've got to say,
- 25:12no, this is who I am. I may do Fleetwood Mac and
- 25:15I may do Tone Loak or whatever. You know, you know, just
- 25:18doing that out as an example. So you guys gonna do like a little
- 25:22little song here. You want to have a new single coming out called beer
- 25:25in an outlaw song? Would you care if we did the course? Do
- 25:26the course? There you go, we can do that, all right,
- 25:30go ahead, honey, I don't want to think of that right now,
- 25:53don't Now that is awesome. That is awesome. Yeah, somebody else applied,
- 26:07So I don't feel like I'm one of one of Brian Thompson's comedy shows.
- 26:10Here you always uh so everything starts at six thirty tonight, Josh,
- 26:17I mean, these folks are pretty good. If you guys ever played together
- 26:19before you played we played together before, Yeah, like the Pantry, Weekend
- 26:25Warrior, Yeah, all right shows this year. Yeah, I vouched for
- 26:30him, and I stand by my vouch. I got a text here it
- 26:33says Nicky is the best. They've been here a few times and uh,
- 26:36he signed his name. Most of my texts are anonymous, but this was
- 26:38from Mayor Randy Barrett in Winfield. Yeah, Randy. Randy's a good dude.
- 26:45I would never tell him that to his face, but ran Randy,
- 26:48Randy's a He's a fantastic guy and does a great job as as mayor of
- 26:52Winfield. So so you'reing live on the levee tonight. Where else are you
- 26:56going this summer? Oh my goodness. Well, we just a Freedom Fest
- 27:00and Josh actually just did Freedom Which Freedom Fest we talked about the West Virginia
- 27:06Freedom my hometown. Yeah, we've got a lot of private events this year,
- 27:11really, yeah, a lot of private events, a lot of corporate
- 27:14events and stuff happening. But they can go to our page, the Weekend
- 27:17Warriors and check us out and we post on cake Festival, Cupcake Festival coming
- 27:22up in Hurricane. Yeah, it's at Valley Park right. Also a Warrior
- 27:26Pantry show. Yes, okay, so that's fun last year all right?
- 27:34Well, I mean Josh is somebody that's been into what they have been to
- 27:37been doing this for a while. We've got a pretty darn good music scene
- 27:41going on in Charleston right now, did we not? Really in the entire
- 27:42Valley Go it's going down to Huntington, the whole thing we got. We
- 27:45got a pretty good music scene going on. Absolutely I would agree with that.
- 27:48Yes, yeah, all right, Well guys, it's live on the
- 27:52Levee starts at six thirty tonight. It'll be the Weekend Warriors six thirty and
- 27:56then Josh Pantry will be on after that. As Jimbo said, we got

- 30:45all over the place this morning. So the big story is the debate last
- 30:49night. So I'm gonna get back to that here just a matter of moments.
- 30:53If you wish to weigh in on the debate, we're going to be

- 31:12debate a little bit later on Kit Wilson of Bridge Valley's here man, how
- 31:15you doing, Good morning, good morning, good morning to be here.
- 31:18Do you have any musical ability whatsoever? Sir none, none, okay,
- 31:22right right with me. Yes, it was. It was tough to follow
- 31:25over the group tonight excellent. I mean, they're they're really good. I
- 31:30have Josh Pantry I'm aware of and I I may have done a show like
- 31:36as an mc not as a musician with the Weekend Warriors at one time or
- 31:38another. But they're they're, they're fantastic. It was an original song.
- 31:41You said you heard it in the green room, so it was you know,
- 31:45to have local talent like that, it's pretty remarkable. It is able
- 31:48to showcase them a lot of the Levy now well for them. We have
- 31:52a robust music scene going on here in Charleston, but we've also got transition.
- 31:56We've also got the robust education scene going out here in the Kanawha Valley
- 32:01as well. In Bridge Valley, of course, is a big part of
- 32:04that. I should mention that the president of the Bridge Valley, missus Casey
- 32:07Sachs, is currently off on her honeymoon. She got married years ago and
- 32:12she's actually spending two weeks in Europe. And the other day I did a
- 32:15presentation that introduced the fact that she had been at saw a five thousand year
- 32:22old cemetery, and then this morning I saw where she was in Switzerland yesterday
- 32:27for today, I guess there's a six seven hour time different. She's having
- 32:30a great time and well deserved. Yeah. Yeah, and she's doing a
- 32:34fantastic job out here, So we certainly wish her well. We'll have her
- 32:37back soon. But to Meanti'm glad that you're here. I want to talk
- 32:39about this partnership the WVU and Bridge Valley have forged. You've called it a
- 32:45three plus one partnership that you have with WVU. Explain that, Yeah,
- 32:50it's kind of unique to the state of West Virginia. It's the first in
- 32:52the state. But it's an opportunity because all the research shows and when people
- 32:57do quality improvement, it shows that the more ants people's degrees are in nursing,
- 33:01the better the patient outcomes. So this agreement actually allows for students they
- 33:06graduate from Bridge Valley's nursing program to continue into their junior year through a partnership
- 33:12with WVU that allows us to teach students those junior level nursing courses at Bridge
- 33:16Valley at the community college price and then at the conclusion of that year,
- 33:22they transition to WU in an online program. WU offers all the four year
- 33:27nursing courses and actually offers degree, so it's very unique. It allows our
- 33:30graduates to continue their education seamlessly into that program WU, and it's hopefully it's
- 33:37going to take off and do very well. So what is the time frame
- 33:40here? I mean, is it is it up and running or what it
- 33:43starts? His fall starts his faull. Okay, it starts to fall and
- 33:45they don't actually have to go to WVU. No. No, it's all
- 33:49online, not not ever in the transition to do either our courses. It's
- 33:53all online and even the courses through w Online. So it was a pleasure
- 33:58to work with U doctor Tara Halsey and doctor Brad Phillips a w on this
- 34:02project. And we actually had a formal signing agreement in Morgantown and back in
- 34:07April. So we're anxious to get it up and running because right now,
- 34:09about seventy percent of our grades what's going to get a bachelor's degree, and
- 34:12it's going to make it easier on them, just like again to seamlessly give
- 34:15into that program and it's going to be more cost effective and cheaper for them
- 34:20in the long run and let me just say this. You know, from
- 34:22the time that I was in college one hundred years ago, it's so I
- 34:27think it's so great that we have these all of these universities working together now
- 34:30because it was always a struggle. And when I started college in the late
- 34:34eighties, it was always a struggle is if I take this classes and going
- 34:37to transfer? And I was told it was And now it's not. You
- 34:39guys lay it out seamlessly. And I know this is not exactly the same
- 34:44thing, but I just want to applaud you and all the other institutions of
- 34:46higher learning for doing that, for trying to work together as opposed to against
- 34:51each other, and trying to get everybody on the same page. Yeah,
- 34:53it's I mean, it's transitioned a lot. You know, it's not about
- 34:58individual colleges anymore. I mean, we've had an agreement with w Parkersburg for
- 35:02strengthening community colleges that allow students that have that are at risk of not graduating
- 35:08due to financial concerns, that allows us we partner with them. I think
- 35:12it was about a three point five million dollar adventure. And just yesterday I
- 35:16met with folks again from W in Morgantown because we're writing a four million dollar
- 35:20hearsa grant to be able to again to help students as they navigate into that
- 35:23four year program, but it also alleviates a lot of their financial concerns with
- 35:28it. So a lot of the programs in the state are working together,
- 35:30you know, for the import of the nursing community as well as meeting those
- 35:35patient care outcomes for the facilities which we send nurses to eighteen minutes away from

- 35:58zero four for fresh air because everyone deserves fresh air. There's some news involving
- 36:04Senator mansion in Bridge Valley, Is that right? Yeah, we're excited about
- 36:07that. Each year, you know, there's some congressional spending requests that are
- 36:10requested by you know, obviously people that are either senators or at the highest
- 36:16administrative levels of the government, and we applied for a one point five million
- 36:22dollar grant a year ago and we were notified just in April that we received
- 36:27one point five million dollars from Senator Mansion as far as again as our recruitment
- 36:32and retention of students. So what that grant does, and once we get
- 36:37the funding for it, it's going to pay for all the ancillary costs for
- 36:39any student coming to Bridge Valley in twenty four to twenty five. So that
- 36:44means that their cost, which right now is about fourteen thousand dollars for the
- 36:47whole two year curriculum, is going to be dramatically lowered because that funding that's
- 36:52coming from Senator Mansion is going to take away all the supplementary costs like all
- 36:57the textbooks, all the resources today, so it's going to probably lower their
- 37:01cost down four or five thousand dollars at least. But there's a lot of
- 37:05advantage in that, so we're proud of that. I'm not sure how many
- 37:07nursing programs have ever got it corcreationabal spending requests and it's been an approved,
- 37:13but you know, we're looking forward to be able to apply that and be
- 37:15able to again lower the costs for students, and as you've been coming from
- 37:21the from the nursing program and nursing background yourself, I think you just got
- 37:24a big honor. Is that right? You don't want to talk about yourself,
- 37:28but go ahead. Yeah, I'm kind of provihich. I knew that
- 37:30this was. I was nominated by two of my peers, one in Arizona
- 37:35and one in Minnesota last fall to be on the Accrediting Commission for Education in
- 37:39Nursing, which is the national accreditor for all the nursing programs in the US.
- 37:44I was nominated to be on their board, and I kept it,
- 37:46you know, to myself, only my my significant other. At that point,
- 37:51I didn't want to get out because I thought, wow, if I
- 37:52didn't get it out, just kidding why. So I went through the vending
- 37:57process and actually April in May, the ACN had their elections. It was
- 38:02a national election of all the deans and directors of credit programs in the US,
- 38:06and I was notified like a couple of weeks ago that I was named
- 38:08to the board. So pretty proud of that, proud of you know,
- 38:10as far as bridge value. To my knowledge, I think I'm the maybe
- 38:14the first one in the state of West Virginia. I'm not really sure about
- 38:16that, but it's an honor. You know, they're the ones that oversee
- 38:20all the regulatory and accrediting processes for nursing programs, and they're the ones that
- 38:27have the final staty so in the increditing process. So pretty pretty remarkable.
- 38:30It's a good it's good thing on the end my career. By doing something
- 38:35like that, well, that's awesome. And the dean over the Nursing pet
- 38:37Valley another feather in the cap for Bridge Valley too, and the amazing things
- 38:39that they're doing out there. Yeah, thank you appreciate that. Ken,
- 38:44It's always a pleasure to have you on the show. Anything else you want
- 38:45to mention about things going on out of Bridge Valley. No, there's so
- 38:47many things going on. I mean, you know, new programs. We
- 38:51have a Lineman program. There's getting ready to start a radiology program for you
- 38:55know, there's a great need for radiology texts in the valley as well as
- 39:00surrounding areas and we're starting that program this fall. So lots of good new
- 39:02programs, you know, what our facilities need as far as healthcare and other
- 39:07areas. We're trying to meet that demand for them and log out of the
- 39:10website, because you guys do a fantastic job not only in your website but
- 39:14also in all of your social media keeping people. And there's only so many
- 39:16activities going on out there that to me aren't all related to the classroom.
- 39:22I guess they are to a certain extent, but you always get fun things
- 39:23going on out there too, because that keeps students of any age engaged and
- 39:28they're likely to perform a lot better. The stats will wear that out.
- 39:31Yeah, we like for students to feel like they're part of the college and
- 39:36have a vested interest in things going on there. So not only do we
- 39:38allow them to take part as a community of interest, but there's like you
- 39:44said, there's lots of activities just shister to ass on email where they're playing
- 39:47all kinds of stuff for families. Usually there's like two or three thousand people
- 39:51that go to trunk and treating things in the fall, which is for students
- 39:54to bring their families and again to be involved with things that are happening.
- 39:58So we try our best. Can Wilson Bridge Valley. It's always a pleasure
- 40:00to have you on the show Man. Congratulations on your honor and have a

- 44:08good one about that and some other things going on. Also on Monday show,
- 44:13Curtis Workman and Andrea Garrett from the West Virginia Faith and Freedom Coalition will
- 44:16be stopping by. And again a reminder, I will be doing shows next
- 44:21Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. No show on the fourth of July on
- 44:24Thursday, and no show on the fifth on Friday. I will return to
- 44:30the airwaves on Monday, July tenth. So let's get back to the debate
- 44:36last night. I want to hear your thoughts. You can call me Bigley
- 44:39Bigli Wiggly hotline three zero four three four five fifty eight fifty eight, or
- 44:43you can text to me. It's Fruit Pharmacy text line. It's three zero
- 44:46four nine three five five zero zero eight. And again, I watched the
- 44:52entire thing last night, even to the point and I look at I noticed
- 44:58little things in the background when they brought the candidates out. One of the
- 45:02things I even I was watching it live on television. But you know,
- 45:06through the magic of technology, you can rewind, so I was rewinding I
- 45:07even showed my wife, I said, look at this. When President Biden
- 45:12walked out to the podium to start the debate, he pointed at the podium.
- 45:21Now, I don't know if he was pointing out it to say,
- 45:22Joe, that's where you need to go, or whether he was saying,
- 45:27do you want me this one or whatever. It didn't start well, and
- 45:32it only got worse. It only got worse in my opinion for President Biden,
- 45:39and as other people have brought out, people much smarter than myself.
- 45:46If you think about we're talking about it everywhere in America, the day we
- 45:52have last night, we are today, HOPI is going to that's going to
- 45:54be the focus of his conversation mainly on talk line today as well. What's
- 45:59the rest to the world looking at That's that's what That's what gives me pause
- 46:06and a little bit of nervousness. What's the rest of the world see when
- 46:13they were watching that debate last night, which turned into, by the way,
- 46:16at one point, about a three or four minute argument over their golf
- 46:20game. This is where we are, This is where we are. And
- 46:24you've heard me on this show, and I've taken a lot of crap forward.
- 46:28But you've heard me I'm probably deserved, but you've heard me on the
- 46:31show say that in a country of so many millions of people, this is
- 46:36the best we can do. Are these are these two people? I mean,
- 46:43knock out. Some text text says, hey, Dave, you feel
- 46:45an excited for the future of America today? Well, you know, I
- 46:51love my country and there's no place in the world I would rather be than
- 46:55West Virginia in the USA. But uh, I got I got concerns.
- 47:01I got concerns. I mean, and I think anybody that tells you that
- 47:06they don't would probably be lying to you. Somebody sent me a screenshot of
- 47:14a tweet or a post on Twitter here that says, Okay, if you
- 47:19don't live in the US, please turn the debate off. This is our
- 47:22private family humiliation and we all prefer you not stare with somebody who's who who
- 47:28xed that that out last night? But Dave Island Showing five eighty Live is
- 47:34brought to you apart by your hometown baseball team, the Charleston Dirty Birds.
- 47:37Birds begin a weekend series on the road tonight at high Point. That's followed
- 47:39by a series that starts on Tuesday through Thursday of next week in Long Island.
- 47:44They're back at Go Mark Ballpark next Friday and night. Of course,
- 47:46they'll get into the independent celebration mode next week when they return home. For
- 47:51tickets for motions, merchandise, and more. Visit Dirty Birds Baseball dot com.
- 47:54Uh Tex says Trump won because he voiced his lies clearly with vigor.
- 48:00Biden lost because his facts were obscured by his scratchy voice, and age Tex
- 48:07says, you had the morals of an alley cat was priceless. That's one
- 48:09thing that President Biden said about about Donald Trump. He had the morals of
- 48:15an alley cat. That was an actual statement. Last night, Sex says
- 48:23Dave or any members of the Weekend Warriors and the National Guard or Military Reserves,
- 48:28Weekend Warriors has been their unofficial moniker for decades. If they're not affiliated
- 48:31to the Guard or Reserves, it smells like a bit like Stolen Vour,
- 48:36except the jazz fusion band of the Green Brains like the Weekend Warriors. I
- 48:38mean, you know, with all due respect on our military, the Weekend
- 48:40Warriors name, I don't think they think it's owned by the military. I
- 48:43don't think, but I got the text other Texas Dave. I intentionally did
- 48:49not watch the debate. The comments today remind me why I chose not to.
- 48:54Honestly, what new information could come out of the debate between two candidates
- 48:59who have public service record spanning years, regardless of which one person supports.
- 49:05Am I shocked? No, I've come to expect the lack of logic and
- 49:08understated of civics and due process in people nowadays. I think that's a good
- 49:15I think that's a good point. I don't know about the decades of community
- 49:22service. I think only one person on that stage has decades of community service.
- 49:25That would be Joe Biden. Now you can argue whether it was a
- 49:28good community service or not. I don't know, but I think only one.
- 49:30But I again, I no minds were going to be changed by the
- 49:36debate. Everybody knows that. Everybody knew that going in. That's well,
- 49:40let me back up. That's what I said initially. I said, I
- 49:43don't think anybody's mind is going to be changed. If you are going to
- 49:45vote for Donald Trump, You're going to vote for Donald Trump, no matter
- 49:47what the family convictions. In New York a couple of weeks ago, only
- 49:52served to make Donald Trump a stronger candidate and only served to beef up the
- 49:58war chest even more. It was a good thing for Donald Trump. Okay,
- 50:01But when I said a couple of days ago that I didn't think that
- 50:05any minds would be changed, I may have been wrong about that, because
- 50:07I think there are some Democrats this morning and last night that are looking at
- 50:12this going old boy, now what happens from here? I mean, you
- 50:16know, I don't I don't understand what the exactly what the process could be.
- 50:22I'll let people that are much smarter than I get into that, but
- 50:27I don't, I don't know. If you're the Democratic Party, you've got
- 50:29to do something to get Joe Biden off the ballot. I mean, I
- 50:30don't know. I don't. I don't know what that is. But you've
- 50:34got to figure I mean, you know. And again it's worth noting this
- 50:37was the earliest presidential debate that there had ever been. It was before it
- 50:40was before the conventions, which is I don't know if I don't know if
- 50:45it's been done before, but certainly is unusual. If you're the Democratic Party,
- 50:50you got you got some serious you got some serious work to do on
- 50:54this and again, I'm not giving Trump a pass on anything, because you
- 50:59know, I'm not a Trump. I'm not giving Trump pas on anything.
- 51:02But I'm saying, where's all the talk? This morning? Tex says,
- 51:07did you see Jill have to come up and walk him off the stage?
- 51:08Afterwards? He froze at the top of those four or five steps. There
- 51:14was no rail for him to hold. He cannot stay in that office,
- 51:17says a Texter. Texas Dave. After Biden's performance last night, it's clear
- 51:22now as to why the Democrats are so determined to not release the audio of
- 51:24her interview so the public can hear his voice, tex says. The rest
- 51:31of the world is looking at us as a laughing stock. US, says
- 51:37a Texter. Tex says, Dave. I think what I think is this
- 51:45is what we are left with. It's sad. While I would never vote
- 51:47for Donald Trump, I now think voting for Joe Biden could not be much
- 51:52better. I wish, like you, we had other choices. I blame
- 51:54the Democrats for putting him forward. Bingo, Texter, bingo. But that
- 52:00having been said again, so look at the Republican Party as well. They
- 52:05had a whole stage full of people that would have been a hell of a
- 52:08lot better choice than Donald Trump, and they decided to go with Donald Trump.
- 52:13That's my opinion. Final text to day says Dave, I will vote
- 52:15for the old man before I vote for the felon who says our vetra suckers
- 52:19and losers and trying to take over our country. On January the sixth,
- 52:22all right, my thanks to all the guests on the show today, Josh
- 52:24Pantry and also the Weekend Warriors and Kit Wilson for Bridge Valley and of course
- 52:29Steve Animal for being Steve Animal and go adopt our adopt me. Please put
- 52:34it the week and download the Metro News TV app. Hobby Kirchill with more
