Transcript
- 0:02Speaker0: Hi, everyone. It's Gary again from EyeOpener Society, and welcome back to the
- 0:07Speaker0: EyeOpener Society podcast.
- 0:09Speaker0: Thank you for joining me here in the studio.
- 0:11Speaker0: And I am doing this episode, and I'm going to continue doing these episodes
- 0:15Speaker0: because what I've been doing on Facebook, on the EyeOpener Society Facebook
- 0:19Speaker0: page, I've been doing what's known as Quickie Podcast,
- 0:22Speaker0: two to three minutes, and I just put out some quotes that I find really interesting,
- 0:28Speaker0: and I give my little comments on them and I'm going
- 0:31Speaker0: to extend that by doing a little further quickie um maybe
- 0:34Speaker0: no more than a five ten minute podcast tops right
- 0:37Speaker0: here for you guys that listen and follow on Eye
- 0:41Speaker0: Opener Society now I am doing this one really quick because I heard another
- 0:45Speaker0: podcast you might remember uh Sophie Catherine she was on the show a while back
- 0:49Speaker0: she does the Sophie Catherine podcast and I was listening to her um season finale
- 0:55Speaker0: episode uh just uh the other the day.
- 0:58Speaker0: And she was talking about all these changes in her life, how she may not return
- 1:04Speaker0: to the podcast for the next season. She may or she may not.
- 1:09Speaker0: And she's making a big career decision too as well. And she's going to be opening
- 1:14Speaker0: up her own product line as well.
- 1:17Speaker0: So she has all of these changes and she was very raw, very honest about them.
- 1:23Speaker0: I want to just say that I kind of relate to everything that she has going on
- 1:28Speaker0: because throughout my life, I have this very nomadic spirit about me and things change very,
- 1:36Speaker0: very quickly and very often too at times.
- 1:38Speaker0: I may get very comfortable in doing something and then it changes right away.
- 1:43Speaker0: We need to embrace these changes and that's what she had mentioned.
- 1:47Speaker0: And I'm going to mention the same exact thing.
- 1:49Speaker0: Yes, We need to kind of go with the flow of things If you are stuck somewhere
- 1:55Speaker0: and you don't want to be there anymore and you don't feel like it's the place for you Well,
- 1:59Speaker0: then that's your mind your heart your spirit telling you that you don't belong there anymore.
- 2:05Speaker0: I'm going through the same thing kind of career wise too. Now that I'm getting
- 2:08Speaker0: closer to retirement, although I don't want to make it all the way to retirement
- 2:12Speaker0: because what I've been doing for like the last 12, 13 years now, I'm over it. I'm done.
- 2:19Speaker0: I go into work and I just have a negative spirit about me.
- 2:24Speaker0: I don't feel the same way I did 11 years ago when I first started it.
- 2:29Speaker0: Everything changes. I'm kind of stuck on a place right now where I cannot move
- 2:34Speaker0: on at this moment, but I'm already putting the ball in motion to make those
- 2:39Speaker0: changes and to change what I'm doing for a living.
- 2:43Speaker0: Because we, again, we need to embrace these changes. We need to embrace whatever life brings to us.
- 2:51Speaker0: And we need to sit and trust our intuition with this.
- 2:54Speaker0: If you feel like you've been doing a job for the last 30 years and all of a
- 2:58Speaker0: sudden you say, you know what, I'm going to give doing something else.
- 3:02Speaker0: I'm going to try, you know, selling something for my house or whatever.
- 3:06Speaker0: If that's what you really feel, and that's the, um, overall consensus from your
- 3:12Speaker0: mind, your body, your heart, your soul, then do it. I encourage you to go ahead and do it.
- 3:19Speaker0: The only thing you have to lose is just, I guess the time and just the energy
- 3:26Speaker0: that you put into it, But it's a great energy and it's very fulfilling.
- 3:31Speaker0: If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. There's nothing wrong with it.
- 3:36Speaker0: We don't always align to the things that we want to do.
- 3:42Speaker0: There's nothing wrong with trying. And as a matter of fact, it's very important
- 3:45Speaker0: that you do try, you know, to do something that you really, really want.
- 3:50Speaker0: So I'm giving you that advice. Sit down, meditate, think about what it is you would really like to do.
- 3:57Speaker0: Put it in motion, make a plan, go ahead and do it. Satisfy your soul, do something for you.
- 4:05Speaker0: We're too busy worrying about life and all these ridiculous rules that don't make any sense.
- 4:11Speaker0: And we get trapped inside of an environment we don't want to be in,
- 4:15Speaker0: or we're forced to be in for so long.
- 4:17Speaker0: Break out of that bubble, break out of your self-confidence,
- 4:22Speaker0: get out there, do something you never thought you'd be able to do.
- 4:26Speaker0: Do it, do it regardless of how well you think you can do it.
- 4:30Speaker0: Try it, try new things, try new flavors, tastes, food, whatever it may be.
- 4:38Speaker0: Even I have a second job, a little part-time job as well.
- 4:42Speaker0: And the last time I was there, they had me do something like on a whim that's
- 4:49Speaker0: outside of my job description.
- 4:50Speaker0: It's actually a whole nother job, but they had me doing the studio lights for
- 4:55Speaker0: the stage and they just had me sit in and do it.
- 4:58Speaker0: And it was real simple, but it was so interesting to see things from a whole
- 5:04Speaker0: nother point of view and to do something that you've never done before.
- 5:08Speaker0: And even though you're worried about it and you get nervous about doing it, you know what?
- 5:13Speaker0: It works out in the end. And again, even if it didn't work out,
- 5:17Speaker0: the feeling you got, the satisfaction for actually sitting down and actually
- 5:23Speaker0: doing it is an incredible feeling. And I think everybody needs to experience that.
- 5:28Speaker0: So I want to do these little podcasts for you.
- 5:31Speaker0: I'm going to throw one in during the week sometime, probably a Thursday or a
- 5:35Speaker0: Friday, depending when I could get it out.
- 5:37Speaker0: And this is in addition to my regular episodes, um, that are released every Monday.
- 5:43Speaker0: So don't forget to check us out. Okay. We're on all platforms.
- 5:47Speaker0: Don't forget to check out the Facebook page as well.
- 5:49Speaker0: Just search eyeopener society. And we have a group page and that's where I do most of my posts.
- 5:54Speaker0: All right. So if you join the regular page, also join the group page. Okay.
- 5:58Speaker0: Um, and again, I thank everybody from the bottom of my heart for sticking by
- 6:02Speaker0: us here at eyeopener society for tuning in for listening.
- 6:06Speaker0: It means a lot, a whole lot to me. It means a whole lot to Hannah.
- 6:10Speaker0: I know everybody misses her. I will say she's doing okay.
- 6:13Speaker0: And I have an idea. And if it works out, um, I'm getting closer and closer to my 100th episode.
- 6:19Speaker0: And I'm hoping that when that 100th episode hits, we can have Hannah her back.
- 6:25Speaker0: And I'm looking at probably about two months from now, if everybody could just
- 6:28Speaker0: hold tight and she's going to have so much to say, I know she will,
- 6:33Speaker0: but for right now, let's all just wish her well, and we'll keep it at that.
- 6:37Speaker0: And I, again, thank you very much. And we'll see you on the next podcast.
