- 5:11Speaker 5: start like we always do, giving God, thanks for the
- 5:14Speaker 5: word says and everything that you do. Give thanks unto God,
- 5:19Speaker 5: dear heavenly Father, in the precious name of your son, Jesus,
- 5:24Speaker 5: we thank you once again for this platform. We thank
- 5:28Speaker 5: you for the visionary We thank you for how you
- 5:31Speaker 5: lead and guide her. We thank you about how you
- 5:35Speaker 5: touch a life. Our great and mercy follows up. We
- 5:39Speaker 5: thank you for each member of the Crew Podcast in
- 5:43Speaker 5: the name of Jesus, Oh protect them from all her
- 5:47Speaker 5: harm and danger. In the name of Jesus. And now
- 5:51Speaker 5: we give this show to you have your way. In
- 5:55Speaker 5: this episode, in Jesus' name, we do pray. And our
- 6:00Speaker 5: quote for the week is coming from Grades Anatomy and
- 6:08Speaker 5: it says, then we bargain, we beg we plead, we
- 6:14Speaker 5: offer everything we have, We offer up our souls in
- 6:20Speaker 5: exchange for just one more day. And that was said
- 6:25Speaker 5: by Merritt Gray and Grades Anatomy. Tonight, we're gonna be
- 6:33Speaker 5: talking about the third stage of grief episode in our
- 6:42Speaker 5: series on the Five Stages of Grief, when if only
- 6:50Speaker 5: becomes the Language of the Heart. If you've been following
- 6:58Speaker 5: this series, we've already done discuss the first two stages
- 7:02Speaker 5: of grief, denial and anger. Then today we move on
- 7:08Speaker 5: to the third stage of grief, bargaining. Bargaining is one
- 7:14Speaker 5: of the most emotionally exhausting stages because it is filled
- 7:20Speaker 5: with questions that have no answers and commons that can
- 7:28Speaker 5: never change the past. It is the place where our
- 7:33Speaker 5: mind desperately search for another ending to our story. To
- 7:41Speaker 5: today's episode is called when it Only becomes the Language
- 7:46Speaker 5: of the heart. Let's begin with what is bargaining. Bargaining
- 7:52Speaker 5: is our attempt to regain a sense of control after
- 7:57Speaker 5: experiencing a devastation. Laws When tragedy happens, we often ask
- 8:05Speaker 5: ourselves if only I had called, if only I had stayed,
- 8:11Speaker 5: if only I had noticed the signs, if only I
- 8:16Speaker 5: had prayed harder, If only we had gone to another doctor,
- 8:22Speaker 5: If only I had said I loved them one more time.
- 8:28Speaker 5: Notice how many of these thoughts begin with if only
- 8:34Speaker 5: these statements reveal a heart that desperately wants another chance.
- 8:43Speaker 5: Bargaining is not weakness. It is the mind's attempt to
- 8:49Speaker 5: rewrite a painful story. Why do we bargain? Love leaves
- 8:58Speaker 5: us powerless, for bargaining creates the illusion that maybe there
- 9:05Speaker 5: was something that could have been done differently. Our brains
- 9:11Speaker 5: would what a rather believe we had control than except
- 9:16Speaker 5: that some events were beyond our control. This stage often
- 9:23Speaker 5: includes guilt, regret, self blame, second guessing, and endless mental
- 9:33Speaker 5: replay of the events. Many people spend months or even
- 9:40Speaker 5: years reliving the same moment I recall after my son
- 9:49Speaker 5: passed away, I'm spent months thinking, if only I had
- 9:55Speaker 5: taken him to another hospital, If only I knew that
- 10:00Speaker 5: that was gonna be our last night together, what would
- 10:05Speaker 5: I have done differently? Many people also bargain spiritually. You
- 10:12Speaker 5: may have heard yourself saying, God, if you bring them back,
- 10:18Speaker 5: I'll serve you forever.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Lord.
- 10:20Speaker 5: If you heal them, I'll never complain again. If you
- 10:25Speaker 5: fix this, God, I'll become a better person. These prayers
- 10:31Speaker 5: usually come from desperation, then faith. Throughout scripture, we see
- 10:40Speaker 5: people crying out honestly to God. Thems the psalms are
- 10:45Speaker 5: filled with questioning, tears and heartfelt Please. God welcomes our
- 10:53Speaker 5: honesty even when we don't understand His ways. Understanding the
- 11:00Speaker 5: difference between prayer and bargaining, prayer says Lord, I trust you.
- 11:08Speaker 5: Bargaining says Lord, I'll trust you if you changed this,
- 11:14Speaker 5: prayer surrenders, bargaining negotiates. Eventually, healing begins. When we release
- 11:23Speaker 5: our need to negotiate with what cannot be changed. We
- 11:29Speaker 5: have to accept the fact that we can't change it,
- 11:33Speaker 5: that nothing that we would have done would have changed
- 11:38Speaker 5: that outlook. Biblical examples David King. David experienced profound grief
- 11:49Speaker 5: after the illness of his infant son. He fasted, he prayed,
- 11:55Speaker 5: he cried out to God. He hoped for a miracle,
- 12:00Speaker 5: But when his son died, David eventually accepted reality Second
- 12:08Speaker 5: Samuel twelve and twenty three. But now he is dead?
- 12:14Speaker 5: Wherefore should I fast? Can I bring him back again?
- 12:20Speaker 5: I shall go to him, but he shall not return
- 12:25Speaker 5: to me. David stopped bargaining. He accepted what he could
- 12:31Speaker 5: not change. Acceptance does not erase your love. Acceptance simply
- 12:43Speaker 5: allows the healing to begin. Guilt is not the same
- 12:52Speaker 5: as responsibilities. One of the greatest struggles doing bargaining is
- 12:58Speaker 5: guilt as yourself. Was I truly responsible or in my
- 13:07Speaker 5: camera responsibility that belongs to circumstances beyond my control. Healthy
- 13:15Speaker 5: gifts said I made this mistake. False guilt says I
- 13:22Speaker 5: should have controlled something no human being could control. Learn
- 13:28Speaker 5: the difference. It is essential. The trap of what if?
- 13:36Speaker 5: What if? Thinking becomes a prison. What if I had
- 13:43Speaker 5: stayed home? What if I answered the phone? What if
- 13:49Speaker 5: I recognize the symptoms? What what if? What if? Each
- 13:56Speaker 5: Every answer creates another question. Eventually you discover there is
- 14:05Speaker 5: no finish line. Healing begins when you gently replace what
- 14:11Speaker 5: if with what now? Instead of replaying yesterday, begin asking
- 14:20Speaker 5: how can you faithfully live today? Jesus understands greed the
- 14:29Speaker 5: reason why Jesus took on earthly fleshed was so he
- 14:35Speaker 5: can understand everything that we go through. Jesus suffered all
- 14:40Speaker 5: the emotions that we did. He was depressed, he questioned God.
- 14:48Speaker 5: He was hungry, he was thirsty, he was tempted, yet
- 14:54Speaker 5: he was without sin. So Hebrews four says, come boldly
- 15:04Speaker 5: to the throne of grace. That means that we can
- 15:07Speaker 5: go boldly to the throne of grace. And Jesus is
- 15:11Speaker 5: not gonna shame us. He's not gonna make us feel guilty,
- 15:16Speaker 5: but we could be neked and not ashamed with him.
- 15:19Speaker 5: He knows everything that we're going through, so we have
- 15:22Speaker 5: to be honest with him. I'm feeling this way, I'm
- 15:26Speaker 5: feeling this. I did this, and God is gonna welcome
- 15:30Speaker 5: you with open arms. Jesus himself experienced deep sorrow. He
- 15:39Speaker 5: stood outside lazarus tomb and wet John eleven and thirty five.
- 15:47Speaker 5: Jesus wet. Jesus knew Lazarids would be raised, would be raised,
- 15:55Speaker 5: yet he still cried. That reminds us that grief is
- 16:00Speaker 5: not a lack of faith. Tears and faith can exist together.
- 16:07Speaker 5: What happens if you stay stuck in the bargaining faith.
- 16:14Speaker 5: Remaining in bargaining for too long can affect many areas
- 16:20Speaker 5: of your life. You may find yourself living in constant regret,
- 16:29Speaker 5: feeling trapped by guilt, struggling to make decisions, believing you
- 16:39Speaker 5: don't deserve joy, avoiding relationships because you're afraid of another loss,
- 16:48Speaker 5: becoming emotionally exhausted by replaying the past over and over again.
- 16:56Speaker 5: It's like you pay the same movie on repeat. When
- 17:03Speaker 5: we remain stuck, our lives become centered around events we
- 17:11Speaker 5: cannot change. Healing cause us to gently turn towards the
- 17:17Speaker 5: future while honoring the paths. Practical tools for moving through
- 17:25Speaker 5: bargaining write the if only lists. Take a journal and
- 17:31Speaker 5: write if only every if only thought that comes to mind.
- 17:38Speaker 5: Don't censor yourself after each statement, ask was this truly
- 17:46Speaker 5: within my control? You may discover that many of the
- 17:51Speaker 5: burdens you have carried was never yours to bear. Replace
- 18:00Speaker 5: regret with truth. For every regret, write one truthful statement.
- 18:09Speaker 5: For example, if only I had known truth, I made
- 18:15Speaker 5: the best decision I could with the information that I
- 18:20Speaker 5: had at that time. Truth has the power to quiet
- 18:26Speaker 5: false guilt. Three. Practice self compassion. Speak to yourself the
- 18:34Speaker 5: way you would speak to someone you deeply love. Instead
- 18:39Speaker 5: of saying I failed, try saying I was hurting and
- 18:45Speaker 5: did the best I could. Compassion creates room for healing.
- 18:53Speaker 5: Release what you cannot control. Some questions will never be answered,
- 19:02Speaker 5: some losses will never make sense. That doesn't mean your
- 19:07Speaker 5: life cannot still have meaning. Healing begins when we release
- 19:15Speaker 5: the need to understand everything. Lean on God's presence. Isaiah
- 19:24Speaker 5: forty ten reminds us fear not, for I am with thee.
- 19:32Speaker 5: I will strengthen thee. Yeay, I will help them. God's
- 19:37Speaker 5: presence does not erase pain, but it assures us we
- 19:44Speaker 5: do not walk fill it alone. Every obstacle, every storm
- 19:51Speaker 5: that I survived, it was because Jesus was with me
- 19:57Speaker 5: in the storm. No, he did and stopped the rein
- 20:02Speaker 5: from falling in my life. But he held the umbrella
- 20:06Speaker 5: that kept me from getting wet. Think about which about
- 20:15Speaker 5: one if only statement you've carried now? Ask yourself, did
- 20:22Speaker 5: I truly have control over this? Am I judging my
- 20:27Speaker 5: past self with knowledge I only gain later? What would
- 20:34Speaker 5: I say to a friend carrying this same burden? Is
- 20:41Speaker 5: there a burden I need to release today? Imagine placing
- 20:49Speaker 5: that burden into God's hand. Pray quietly, Lord, Allelujah, I
- 21:02Speaker 5: release what I cannot change. Help me let go of
- 21:08Speaker 5: false skill and receive your peace. Teach me to trust
- 21:13Speaker 5: you with both my questions in my future. Take another
- 21:20Speaker 5: deep breath. Allow yourself to rest for a moment. Healing
- 21:29Speaker 5: does not happen because we stop loving. Healing happens because
- 21:36Speaker 5: we learn to carry our love differently. You do not
- 21:42Speaker 5: honor your loved one by living under endless guilt. You
- 21:48Speaker 5: honor them by living fully, by loving deeply, by serving others,
- 21:57Speaker 5: by carrying their memory forward with hope instead of condemnation.
- 22:04Speaker 5: The past cannot be rewritten, but your future is still
- 22:11Speaker 5: being written. Our closing scripture is Philippians three thirteen to fourteen. Brethren,
- 22:24Speaker 5: I count myself to have apprehended, But this one thing
- 22:29Speaker 5: I do forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching
- 22:35Speaker 5: fourth unto those things which yore before, I press towards
- 22:42Speaker 5: the mark for the price of the high calling of
- 22:47Speaker 5: God in Christ Jesus. Paul wasn't suggesting we forget people
- 22:53Speaker 5: we love. Rather, he reminds us not to let the
- 22:58Speaker 5: past prevent us from moving forward and the purpose that
- 23:04Speaker 5: God has for us. Dear heavenly Father and the presious
- 23:16Speaker 5: name of your son, Jesus. Thank you for walking with
- 23:21Speaker 5: us through every stage of brief. You know the burdens
- 23:28Speaker 5: we carry and the questions that remain unanswered. Help us
- 23:33Speaker 5: release the weight of false gif regretting dless if only thinking.
- 23:41Speaker 5: Remind us that you are near to the broken hearted
- 23:44Speaker 5: and that your grace is sufficient for every season. Give
- 23:49Speaker 5: us the courage to trust you with what we cannot change,
- 23:57Speaker 5: in the strength to embrace the life you still have
- 24:01Speaker 5: for us. May your peace God our hearts and minds
- 24:06Speaker 5: as we continue this journey of healing. And if you
- 24:11Speaker 5: don't know the Man that walks beside you in every
- 24:15Speaker 5: season of your life, I invite you to get to
- 24:20Speaker 5: know him. To accept Jesus Christ as your savior and
- 24:26Speaker 5: acknowledge that He died on the cross for your sins.
- 24:30Speaker 5: That there's nothing that you have done that is so
- 24:34Speaker 5: bad that God can't forgive you. And if you've done that,
- 24:38Speaker 5: on today you find yourself a Bible, believe in church,
- 24:42Speaker 5: and grow in the grace and love of God and
- 24:46Speaker 5: watch His manifestations be fulfilled in your life. And if
- 24:52Speaker 5: you know God and you've been through the storm and
- 24:56Speaker 5: the rain, but you held on to that. Faith was
- 25:00Speaker 5: the clue that kept you together. Keep on dealing, keep
- 25:05Speaker 5: on believing in God, keep on healing. God. I asked
- 25:08Speaker 5: you that you continue to touch the visionary of this platform,
- 25:17Speaker 5: touch her from her head to a toe and anything
- 25:21Speaker 5: in between. God, you made her body and you can
- 25:24Speaker 5: fix it. God, in the name of Jesus, remember of
- 25:28Speaker 5: the Crew podcast. You know the things that we are
- 25:32Speaker 5: in need of. God. We asked that you send it
- 25:34Speaker 5: from the north to south, to east and the west God,
- 25:38Speaker 5: as we leave this platform, but never from your presence. God,
- 25:44Speaker 5: we asked you to say what has in Jesus' name,
- 25:48Speaker 5: thank you for joining me for tonight's episode of the
- 25:54Speaker 5: Cruel Podcast. If the message encouraged you, consider sharing it
- 26:02Speaker 5: with somebody who might need hope. On today until next
- 26:07Speaker 5: time it's on the first and the third Wednesday, A man,
- 26:14Speaker 5: tune in, do me a favor like the YouTube channel
- 26:19Speaker 5: subscribe so you will know the next time that an
- 26:25Speaker 5: episode is aired. We thank you for listening on tonight.
- 26:35Speaker 5: In way of announcements, on October eighth and ninth on Facebook,
- 26:44Speaker 5: I will be having the launch of my side Tie
- 26:49Speaker 5: grief coaching program. Most programs that you deal with teach
- 26:55Speaker 5: you how to deal with the loss. But my program
- 27:02Speaker 5: helps you deal with the laws. But what are you
- 27:05Speaker 5: gonna do with that loss? What are you gonna do
- 27:08Speaker 5: to turn your pain into purpose? Where do you go
- 27:15Speaker 5: from here? We learned doing tonight that you can't stay
- 27:19Speaker 5: staggered in the bargaining phase. You gotta let go of
- 27:25Speaker 5: what you cannot change and embrace what you can change
- 27:31Speaker 5: and continue to live. Good night, and God bless you.
- 27:38Speaker 5: This has been inspirational moments with profits's teeth and I
- 27:43Speaker 5: am your host, Minister Alma Thomas, see you next time.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Welcome, Welcome, Welcome.
- 27:57Speaker 2: This is where it starts. We are all the change.
- 28:01Speaker 2: We are the change, fine here in our heart.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Welcome home from the crew. There's a place for you,
- 28:12Speaker 3: crew around the world, lifting every boy.
- 28:15Speaker 6: To Welcome home to the Crew.

- 28:29Speaker 1: to be heard.
