- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Swedish with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Episode 117! Lucas, I'm feeling a bit cooped up today. Can we talk about something outdoorsy? Lucas: Absolutely. Let's go for a walk in the forest, or as we say in Swedish, "en promenad i skogen." We'll learn a few nature phrases. Luna: Oh, I love that. A walk in the woods sounds perfect. So how do I say 'I'm walking in the forest'? Lucas: That is "Jag går i skogen." Let's break it down. Jag går — I'm walking. i skogen — in the forest. So: Jag går i skogen. Luna: Jag går i skogen. Lucas: Yes, exactly! And you might want to comment on the view. "Vilken fin utsikt!" — What a nice view! Vilken — what a, fin — nice, utsikt — view. Say it with me: Vilken fin utsikt! Luna: Vilken fin utsikt! That's a nice one. I can imagine saying that while looking over a lake or something. Lucas: Exactly. And in the forest, you might hear birds. You can ask or say "Hör du fåglarna?" — Do you hear the birds? Hör — hear, du — you, fåglarna — the birds. Repeat after me: Hör du fåglarna? Luna: Hör du fåglarna? I hear them! This is really peaceful. Lucas: For sure. And we often describe the forest as "lugnt och tyst" — calm and quiet. So you can say "Det är lugnt och tyst." Det är — it is, lugnt — calm, och — and, tyst — quiet. Try it. Luna: Det är lugnt och tyst. That sounds so serene. I can almost feel the fresh air. Lucas: And if you really enjoy nature, you can say "Jag älskar naturen" — I love nature. Älskar — love, naturen — the nature. Jag älskar naturen. Luna: Jag älskar naturen. That's a good one to know. Okay, let me try to put it all together in a little scene. So I'm walking in the forest... Jag går i skogen. I hear the birds... Hör du fåglarna? And I see a beautiful view... Vilken fin utsikt! It's so calm... Det är lugnt och tyst. And I just think, Jag älskar naturen. Lucas: Wow, Luna, that was perfect! You really painted a picture there. Luna: Thanks! It helps that I can actually imagine it. And speaking of things that help, I have to say, Fexingo has been such a great companion for learning Swedish. I practice these phrases on my walks. Now, let's get back to our forest walk. So, Lucas, what else might you say when you're out in nature? Lucas: You might notice the path. "Stigen" is the path. So you could say "Stigen är vacker" — The path is beautiful. Or you could ask "Var leder stigen?" — Where does the path lead? Luna: Var leder stigen? That's useful. I can imagine asking that while hiking. Lucas: Right. And if you encounter a stream, you can say "En bäck" — a stream. "Jag hör en bäck" — I hear a stream. Luna: Jag hör en bäck. That's lovely. Let's practice the main phrases again. Lucas: Sure. Repeat after me: Jag går i skogen. Luna: Jag går i skogen. Lucas: Vilken fin utsikt! Luna: Vilken fin utsikt! Lucas: Hör du fåglarna? Luna: Hör du fåglarna? Lucas: Det är lugnt och tyst. Luna: Det är lugnt och tyst. Lucas: Jag älskar naturen. Luna: Jag älskar naturen. Perfect. I feel ready for a real hike now.
