- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on, Uh huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody
- 0:07Speaker 1: you are listening to the voice, come on, dig me
- 0:09Speaker 1: now on and only Steve Harvey got a radio show.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Man, oh man, oh man? How good is God to me?
- 0:17Speaker 1: And part of the mission and the reason that I
- 0:20Speaker 1: have a radio show is to is to become a
- 0:24Speaker 1: share of more and more of a share of you know.
- 0:28Speaker 1: I used to hear my mother say it to me
- 0:29Speaker 1: all the time. But God blesses you to become a blessing.
- 0:33Speaker 1: And I think the more you understand that about yourself,
- 0:36Speaker 1: I think the more blessings will flow your way. I
- 0:38Speaker 1: think that once you understand the principle that you know it.
- 0:44Speaker 1: But it's kind of tied together with some other scriptures,
- 0:46Speaker 1: and I'm not too knowledgeable about them, of course, as usual,
- 0:50Speaker 1: but I do know what I've heard, you know, And
- 0:54Speaker 1: you know, if you look at something simple as do
- 0:56Speaker 1: unto others as you would have them do unto you,
- 1:00Speaker 1: wouldn't you want somebody to help you if you needed help.
- 1:04Speaker 1: I just know how to get it down there to
- 1:05Speaker 1: where I've been able to understand it. If there's a
- 1:10Speaker 1: scripture similar that it says do unto others as you
- 1:13Speaker 1: would have them do unto you? Or if that's you know,
- 1:19Speaker 1: in a prayer, would not you want somebody to help
- 1:23Speaker 1: you if you needed help. You've heard you reap what
- 1:29Speaker 1: you sow. Do you understand that if you so discord,
- 1:35Speaker 1: that discord is gonna come your way. That if you hate,
- 1:39Speaker 1: hate gonna come your way. If you blog nothing but
- 1:43Speaker 1: negative comments about people, your life will be filled with negativity.
- 1:48Speaker 1: If all you do is talk about people, then guess
- 1:51Speaker 1: what somebody got to turn that gun around and talk
- 1:53Speaker 1: about you. See, it just stands to reason. So what
- 1:58Speaker 1: I've learned in my life and through all the trials
- 2:02Speaker 1: and tribulations that I've had, is to take those lessons
- 2:07Speaker 1: and share them with people in case you ain't heard
- 2:10Speaker 1: it from somebody else. See sometimes, and the reason it
- 2:13Speaker 1: seems like I'm redundant at times is which I am,
- 2:17Speaker 1: is because I'm always trying to find a different way
- 2:21Speaker 1: to say the same thing. Because it's a funny thing. Man,
- 2:24Speaker 1: You got to hear it a certain way for it
- 2:26Speaker 1: to click with you. How many times have I heard
- 2:32Speaker 1: a saying and then I heard it a different way
- 2:36Speaker 1: that it clicked with me? You know, I've heard this
- 2:41Speaker 1: saying right here. Remember this now, everybody's not happy for you.
- 2:46Speaker 1: We've all heard that, right, everybody's not happy for you. Well,
- 2:51Speaker 1: that's very simple. I don't need no explanation. That simply
- 2:54Speaker 1: means of all the people you know or do not know,
- 2:59Speaker 1: when something has happens to you and you celebrating it,
- 3:02Speaker 1: everybody not gonna join in on the celebration. That's all
- 3:06Speaker 1: that is. But then you take it one step further.
- 3:09Speaker 1: My father used to say something to me all the time.
- 3:11Speaker 1: He says, son, everybody come with you, can't go with you.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I didn't get that when I was fifteen. Everybody come
- 3:17Speaker 1: with you, can't go with you. He said, you're gonna
- 3:19Speaker 1: lose some of these friends you got along the way.
- 3:22Speaker 1: But I don't care where you get in life. Know
- 3:26Speaker 1: this right here, everybody can't go with you. If you
- 3:29Speaker 1: are constantly trying to improve yourself, you constantly have to
- 3:32Speaker 1: take assessment of the people around you. Because if you
- 3:36Speaker 1: are going to continue to go and continue to grow,
- 3:40Speaker 1: then guess what you got to have people that's on
- 3:42Speaker 1: the goal and willing to grow, or else, guess what
- 3:48Speaker 1: you're gonna learn the valuable lesson you know. The late
- 3:51Speaker 1: boxing promoter butch Lewis. I was talking with Butcher Lewis
- 3:55Speaker 1: one time, and man with a good brother. Man, He say,
- 3:59Speaker 1: every success for man is doing what I call he
- 4:02Speaker 1: got rope work to do. He got rope work to do.
- 4:06Speaker 1: He got to put in work on rope. And I'm
- 4:10Speaker 1: sitting there listening to Butch Lewis and all the money
- 4:13Speaker 1: he had made and all the people's lives he had changed,
- 4:15Speaker 1: and all of the moves he was making. And he's
- 4:17Speaker 1: an incredible skills as a negotiator on behalf of some
- 4:21Speaker 1: very very wealthy people. He was just an amazing man
- 4:24Speaker 1: with no education, but he read everything. He butch Lewis
- 4:28Speaker 1: read all the papers, all the periodicals. That brother knew everything.
- 4:33Speaker 1: He said, you got to put in rope. And I
- 4:35Speaker 1: was sitting there listening. He said, here's the analogy, little brother.
- 4:39Speaker 1: He said, you are on rope. There's a thick rope.
- 4:43Speaker 1: You have on no shirt, you have on some tattered clothes,
- 4:47Speaker 1: you have on no shoes. Your shorts is cut off
- 4:51Speaker 1: just below the knee, and they tatted and you got
- 4:54Speaker 1: dirt on you and your sweating.
- 4:55Speaker 2: There's this huge, huge raw rope over your shoulder. There's
- 5:00Speaker 2: burn marks on all of your shoulder. Connected to that
- 5:03Speaker 2: rope is a wagon.
- 5:05Speaker 1: That wagon has all your weight on it, all your responsibilities,
- 5:11Speaker 1: all the people you're responsible for, all your children, your wife,
- 5:15Speaker 1: your family members, your employees, your coworkers, your friends.
- 5:21Speaker 2: They all on that wagon. Man, They just sitting there.
- 5:24Speaker 1: He's saying, what you gotta do is you gotta pull
- 5:27Speaker 1: that wagon up the heel.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Now.
- 5:29Speaker 1: The only thing with it is can't nobody help you
- 5:31Speaker 1: pull your wagon.
- 5:33Speaker 2: You pull your wagon alone.
- 5:35Speaker 1: He say, Now, what you can do along the way
- 5:38Speaker 1: of pulling your wagon is you can find yourself a
- 5:41Speaker 1: good wife, a good woman.
- 5:43Speaker 2: He say.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Now, what that woman does is she get down off
- 5:46Speaker 1: the wagon. She fan you while you pull it. She
- 5:49Speaker 1: put water on you while you pull it. She puts
- 5:51Speaker 1: stuff in your mouth while you pull it. She kicked
- 5:54Speaker 1: rocks out the weight while you pull it. But she
- 5:57Speaker 1: but she pull it for you. But she is equally
- 5:59Speaker 1: as important and as you are on the pull of
- 6:02Speaker 1: the rope. He say, you hear me clearly, now, young soldier,
- 6:04Speaker 1: He said, nah, I got this here. He says, people
- 6:07Speaker 1: on your wagon that you're responsible for.
- 6:10Speaker 2: But you want the.
- 6:11Speaker 1: People on your wagon to help you get your wagon
- 6:14Speaker 1: to the top. So what you hope is that they
- 6:17Speaker 1: got their foot hanging over the side pushing, They got
- 6:21Speaker 1: one leg over the back, or maybe both legs over
- 6:23Speaker 1: the back pushing. They got they might have their butt
- 6:26Speaker 1: on the wagon, but they push you with both legs,
- 6:29Speaker 1: they back facing your back, maybe some of them facing
- 6:32Speaker 1: you when one of them got.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Left leg hanging over trying to push.
- 6:34Speaker 1: And you hope that all them people on the wagon
- 6:38Speaker 1: you pulling is back there at least trying to help
- 6:40Speaker 1: the wagon get to the top of the hill.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Here go your problem.
- 6:43Speaker 1: Though everybody ain't pushing, Everybody ain't pulling, ain't everybody ain't pulling,
- 6:49Speaker 1: Everybody ain't kicking rocks out the way. You got some
- 6:52Speaker 1: people on your wagon that's just laying on the wagon,
- 6:55Speaker 1: drinking lemonade, looking at you, talking about how long it's
- 6:59Speaker 1: taking you to get your wagon up to the top,
- 7:02Speaker 1: looking at you, talking about why this wagon is so slow.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Then when you start picking up picking up speed, they
- 7:07Speaker 1: want you to pull harder, you to pull faster, you
- 7:11Speaker 1: to pull more. Then they want you to throw what
- 7:13Speaker 1: you then earned on the way up the hill backed
- 7:16Speaker 1: on the wagon so they can have mo But guess
- 7:18Speaker 1: what they ain't helping you get more, but they got
- 7:20Speaker 1: a sense of entitlement that since you've got more, they
- 7:23Speaker 1: should have mo Everybody come with you can't go with you.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Sometimes you gotta kick the people off the wagon that
- 7:30Speaker 1: ain't pushing.
- 7:31Speaker 2: And pulling and say, hey, man, I'm sorry.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I thought I could do this with you, and I
- 7:36Speaker 1: thought you was going with me. But it's clear to
- 7:38Speaker 1: me you ain't nothing but dead weight, and it ain't
- 7:40Speaker 1: my responsibility to carry dead weight anymore. I have carried
- 7:44Speaker 1: you as long as I have to carry you. You
- 7:47Speaker 1: are no longer my responsibility. I'm responsible for my family,
- 7:51Speaker 1: my wife, my children. I'm not responsible for you. You got
- 7:54Speaker 1: to get off my wagon because I'm a man on rope.
- 7:57Speaker 2: I'm on a mission. Baby, I'm pulling here.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Listen.
