- 0:52Speaker 2: takes down the Ohio Bobcats, 49-21 in their season opener. Dak,
- 1:02Speaker 2: I want to start us off. Gut reaction, gut feel. Game,
- 1:07Speaker 2: how'd it go?
- 1:10Speaker 3: First half, actually, well, let's start with the very first
- 1:13Speaker 3: play of the game.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 1:16Speaker 1: There it went.
- 1:16Speaker 3: 70-yard play, we're off the bat.
- 1:19Speaker 1: You're like, oh, boy, here we go.
- 1:20Speaker 3: And then after that, the first half was up and
- 1:25Speaker 3: down for Nebraska, up and down. But second half was
- 1:28Speaker 3: exactly what you want to see from a team that
- 1:30Speaker 3: you wish– You would have wished Nebraska would have done that.
- 1:33Speaker 3: The first half got all over them, but it was basically,
- 1:37Speaker 3: I'd say, complete domination that second half, which is good
- 1:40Speaker 3: to see. That first half, though, is scary. Hopefully, the
- 1:44Speaker 3: second half is the team that we're going to see
- 1:46Speaker 3: all season, not the first half.
- 1:48Speaker 2: I said it. Just give me the final score. Give
- 1:52Speaker 2: me the stat line. I didn't watch a single snap.
- 1:56Speaker 2: you're coming out of that game feeling pretty good. And
- 2:00Speaker 2: I still am feeling pretty good about the game. It
- 2:03Speaker 2: looks like probably what should have happened, you know, we
- 2:05Speaker 2: covered the spread and won by 28. We put up
- 2:11Speaker 2: some points. Maybe allowing 21 wasn't ideal if you looked
- 2:14Speaker 2: at that. But overall, like, don't show me the game.
- 2:17Speaker 2: It was probably what you're supposed to do against a
- 2:22Speaker 2: decent MAAC team. On the flip side... You watch that
- 2:27Speaker 2: first half and you go, what the hell was that?
- 2:31Speaker 2: And then the second half you watch it and you go,
- 2:36Speaker 2: what the hell was that? Like, it just, it was two,
- 2:39Speaker 2: I'll tell them, very different halves. Now, I think they
- 2:44Speaker 2: were different halves for obviously different reasons. But that first
- 2:49Speaker 2: half you're going, you're not feeling great about it. And
- 2:53Speaker 2: then the second half you go, wow, like that was...
- 2:56Speaker 2: That was impressive.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I guess in that first half, Dak, let's go back
- 3:05Speaker 2: to that. What was concerning to you? Obviously, the first
- 3:12Speaker 2: play of the game, I don't know exactly what happened
- 3:16Speaker 2: on that. But the first half specifically, when the score
- 3:19Speaker 2: was 14-13, what stood out to you? as, oh boy,
- 3:26Speaker 2: this isn't good.
- 3:27Speaker 3: I thought the defense looked pretty bad that first half.
- 3:31Speaker 3: I thought Ohio was moving the ball a lot better
- 3:34Speaker 3: than they should have been in that first half. That's
- 3:36Speaker 3: what stood out to me the most. The offense, I
- 3:40Speaker 3: didn't think looked horrible the first half. Not great either,
- 3:42Speaker 3: but mainly defense that first half. I was like, oh boy,
- 3:46Speaker 3: if Ohio's moving the ball like this, it's going to
- 3:49Speaker 3: be a long season. Now they locked in that second half, but.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Just that first play of the game too, that, that
- 3:57Speaker 3: was just a miscommunication. I think, I mean, unless that
- 4:00Speaker 3: guy truly just was not ready to play, the cornerback
- 4:03Speaker 3: didn't move. He, uh, so it had to be just
- 4:07Speaker 3: a miscommunication there, I hope. But yeah, other than that, um, yeah,
- 4:14Speaker 3: I was thinking, oh boy, it's going to be a
- 4:15Speaker 3: long season, especially in 14, 13 years. So how now
- 4:18Speaker 3: I did think Ohio looked better than what I thought
- 4:21Speaker 3: they would. Um, That quarterback, I'll tell you, he can move.
- 4:26Speaker 3: He can– some of those– that first touchdown he had
- 4:29Speaker 3: was a dime, absolute dime. That guy can sling it too.
- 4:32Speaker 3: So I was pretty impressed with how they looked too,
- 4:35Speaker 3: especially that first half.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess it's funny. You're evaluating or you're thinking
- 4:42Speaker 2: about teams and what you're seeing, right? And if you
- 4:44Speaker 2: go back and look at that Ohio quarterback, and again,
- 4:47Speaker 2: it's stat line, but just watching his– talent I guess
- 4:52Speaker 2: from what you want to evaluate on I I felt
- 4:54Speaker 2: the same way like he did some things that you
- 4:56Speaker 2: go wow like that that was impressive uh he had
- 5:00Speaker 2: some legs to him I thought our defense overall I
- 5:05Speaker 2: I wasn't yeah I mean overall I think the defense
- 5:08Speaker 2: settled in second half even the first half though right
- 5:10Speaker 2: you give up that one play I know you can't
- 5:12Speaker 2: say oh we'll take that one play out and this
- 5:14Speaker 2: and this looks really good well you can't ever do
- 5:18Speaker 2: that because it happened I thought our defense overall by
- 5:25Speaker 2: the end of it, like you said, settled in. And
- 5:27Speaker 2: that quarterback is solid. I think we're going to see
- 5:31Speaker 2: better quarterbacks than that, that's for sure. But he did
- 5:34Speaker 2: a lot of good things.
- 5:37Speaker 1: And I.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Think the general storyline of not just our defense, but
- 5:44Speaker 2: from this first half as well, it's a first game.
- 5:47Speaker 2: It's the first game of the season. There's going to
- 5:49Speaker 2: be bumps and, and some different things that aren't looking good.
- 5:55Speaker 2: That part to me, unfortunately is, is the part that
- 5:57Speaker 2: frustrated me the most is we're in year four and
- 6:02Speaker 2: you would hope, and I get it. It's a new team.
- 6:04Speaker 2: There's some new things going on. That's all part of it. Uh,
- 6:08Speaker 2: you would hope it looks a little bit cleaner than that.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I guess that's why you play these games this way.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Cause if we would have been playing anybody else now, I,
- 6:18Speaker 2: I can't speak for some of the other teams watching
- 6:20Speaker 2: them as close as we did, but you just feel
- 6:23Speaker 2: like the couple of false start penalties, the offsides on kickoffs,
- 6:27Speaker 2: that's just bizarre. I heard the stat that there's been four,
- 6:31Speaker 2: there was four all of last season in FBS. And
- 6:36Speaker 2: we had two, so whatever that was, there's some penalties
- 6:39Speaker 2: and now kind of watching back that Ja'Cory Barney, like
- 6:44Speaker 2: blindside block, yeah, like, The biggest thing was don't touch him.
- 6:50Speaker 2: He was past him, but it was like an eh.
- 6:53Speaker 2: And then the face mask, again, I get that stuff happens,
- 7:00Speaker 2: but there's stuff that you just hope that is a
- 7:04Speaker 2: little bit cleaner in that first half. And in the
- 7:07Speaker 2: second half, it was. So that was also a rules
- 7:11Speaker 2: message right at halftime. Guys, we don't need to change
- 7:16Speaker 2: anything drastically, just Quit shooting ourselves in the foot. Quit
- 7:23Speaker 2: being dumb. Like, don't do that stuff. That was the message,
- 7:27Speaker 2: and second half came out, and it looked very good. So,
- 7:35Speaker 2: I guess, coming out of that game, Dak, how much
- 7:39Speaker 2: does that first half concern you moving forward into, I guess,
- 7:45Speaker 2: this next week, yes, but also just as we get
- 7:47Speaker 2: closer to Big Ten play?
- 7:49Speaker 3: If you'd asked me in the moment at halftime, I
- 7:51Speaker 3: would have said, okay, they are going to win these
- 7:54Speaker 3: first three games and lose the rest of them.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I was like, well, season's over. This team sucks.
- 7:57Speaker 3: But now, looking back on it and thinking on it,
- 8:00Speaker 3: like I said coming in, thank God they didn't play
- 8:02Speaker 3: Tennessee first off. That would have been a totally different
- 8:07Speaker 3: game right there. But these first games are kind of
- 8:10Speaker 3: like a preseason game, I feel like, for teams to,
- 8:12Speaker 3: like I said coming in, all these teams make mistakes,
- 8:15Speaker 3: false starts, all that. So to be able to at
- 8:19Speaker 3: least be up for the half. Like I don't, I
- 8:21Speaker 3: still don't think they played absolutely horrible that first half.
- 8:24Speaker 3: I think, I think Ohio kind of, I don't know
- 8:28Speaker 3: if you stay scared and whatever that first play of
- 8:30Speaker 3: the game and how, how they were moving the ball
- 8:32Speaker 3: and what they were doing on offense and stuff. Kind
- 8:34Speaker 3: of surprised Nebraska a little bit. Now I, I just,
- 8:42Speaker 3: it just, walking out of this game, I just don't
- 8:43Speaker 3: know how to take it. It's like, it's like, damn,
- 8:47Speaker 3: we're good. We're really good coming that second half. And
- 8:49Speaker 3: then like that first half, you're like, oh, we suck.
- 8:52Speaker 3: So I don't, it's, it's what, which I was thinking
- 8:55Speaker 3: back on this too. When there are a lot of
- 8:56Speaker 3: games like this, do you walk out like, man, I
- 8:58Speaker 3: don't know how to take it.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Yeah. And this is a, this is like, I think
- 9:03Speaker 2: that is, it's a called a classic game opener, a
- 9:07Speaker 2: classic first game that a lot of teams have. It's
- 9:12Speaker 2: not uncommon to, to, to have that. I mean, you
- 9:15Speaker 2: want to get into the, the opposite of what happened
- 9:18Speaker 2: in that Michigan game. And now they squeaked out a win.
- 9:22Speaker 2: And you go to some other teams in the country
- 9:24Speaker 2: where they do what you're supposed to do, right? You're
- 9:27Speaker 2: going to hear, well, you're playing a lesser opponent. You
- 9:30Speaker 2: do what you're supposed to do. And there's not really
- 9:33Speaker 2: any sweat. Like, so there's all sorts of game openers
- 9:37Speaker 2: on how that should go. This, you know, falls in
- 9:40Speaker 2: the middle where it's, It was on my prediction. I
- 9:43Speaker 2: thought we were going to struggle in the first half
- 9:46Speaker 2: a little bit. I think I might have said we're
- 9:47Speaker 2: going to be up to touchdown or whatever at halftime
- 9:49Speaker 2: and then pull away in the second half. This is
- 9:52Speaker 2: just kind of how I thought it would go. Is
- 9:53Speaker 2: it exactly how you want it to go when you
- 9:57Speaker 2: say take care of business, the end score? I guess
- 10:00Speaker 2: yes uh it was but for for for I guess
- 10:06Speaker 2: for my back of my mind like hoping or wanting
- 10:10Speaker 2: us that oh there maybe there's a sense that we
- 10:12Speaker 2: could go nine and three or have a really good
- 10:14Speaker 2: record or maybe beat Indiana like some of the things
- 10:18Speaker 2: we saw in that first half, as far as just
- 10:20Speaker 2: being sharp and got our shit together, wasn't there. So
- 10:26Speaker 2: now I'm back to, well, take that little bit of
- 10:29Speaker 2: hope that you had there to be really good. Probably
- 10:32Speaker 2: not completely shut the door, but it's only a crack open.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Now that still means we can win eight, eight games.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Like I, I still think that you, there was enough
- 10:44Speaker 2: good in that game to say, no, like we're not,
- 10:46Speaker 2: the season's not horrible. I think we texted in our
- 10:48Speaker 2: group and said at halftime, right before halftime, we were
- 10:52Speaker 2: all like, well, I don't know if we're winning four
- 10:55Speaker 2: games this year, just the way things looked.
- 10:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:59Speaker 2: And then by the end of it, you're going, okay, like,
- 11:02Speaker 2: like I still feel that we're on track. And I
- 11:04Speaker 2: think we played above average. Like we, again, we covered
- 11:07Speaker 2: the spread and we'll get to our offense here specifically. Like,
- 11:12Speaker 2: There's some reason to say no. This team could go
- 11:15Speaker 2: and win eight games, and that's going to be a
- 11:17Speaker 2: very big positive if you come out of the year
- 11:20Speaker 2: with eight wins. Now, do I think that's going to happen? No,
- 11:22Speaker 2: but there's still hope that that could happen. I just
- 11:24Speaker 2: don't know that there's the hope of being the breakout,
- 11:27Speaker 2: I'm not going to say Indiana, but a breakout team
- 11:30Speaker 2: of making a run for the playoff. If you have
- 11:31Speaker 2: that hope, some of the stuff you may go, eh,
- 11:34Speaker 2: I don't know if we can do that the way
- 11:36Speaker 2: that first half went against Ohio. But, If you want
- 11:40Speaker 2: to throw back a game last year, Ohio State was
- 11:43Speaker 2: down to Ohio in the second or third quarter, too. Again, thanks, Jackson,
- 11:47Speaker 2: for pointing that out.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Now, looking back on the stats of all this, after
- 11:54Speaker 3: the game, I didn't look until after the game. Would
- 11:56Speaker 3: you have thought that quarterback was from Ohio 14 and 31?
- 12:00Speaker 3: I thought, I mean, he struggled in that second half
- 12:03Speaker 3: throwing the ball more, but I thought he played a
- 12:05Speaker 3: lot better than that.
- 12:06Speaker 2: No, and this goes back to like, all these games
- 12:12Speaker 2: that I just remember saying, man, we look, every quarterback
- 12:16Speaker 2: look like the best version of themselves. We always, we
- 12:19Speaker 2: always make other times quarterbacks look good for whatever reason. I,
- 12:25Speaker 2: I've heard a lot of, again, I thought this guy
- 12:27Speaker 2: did a lot of good things. I'm not saying he
- 12:29Speaker 2: sucked because he didn't suck, but I also don't think
- 12:33Speaker 2: he was like, I think I might as a half
- 12:37Speaker 2: of the game, man, we would take him as our quarterback.
- 12:39Speaker 2: I don't, I don't know that I would like, he's not,
- 12:42Speaker 2: He's not like a– I don't know. He was solid.
- 12:45Speaker 2: He did a lot of good things. But you're right.
- 12:48Speaker 2: I think we always remember the shit moments of stuff
- 12:52Speaker 2: that he did. We had a lot of things that
- 12:55Speaker 2: he did. He either made some bad throws or did
- 12:57Speaker 2: a lot of good things on our end that I
- 12:59Speaker 2: think we take for granted. And he didn't look good there.
- 13:04Speaker 2: But we are, I think, in the back of your
- 13:06Speaker 2: minds– We say, oh, it's Ohio. We should be doing
- 13:10Speaker 2: that to Ohio. He shouldn't complete that pass. Our DB
- 13:12Speaker 2: should be able to cover him one-on-one like that down
- 13:14Speaker 2: the field. It should look like that's part of your
- 13:18Speaker 2: justification is, oh, it's Ohio. He should look like that.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Versus when he does something good, you're going, well, that
- 13:23Speaker 2: shouldn't happen. It's Ohio. So, yeah, I don't know. I mean,
- 13:27Speaker 2: he was good. Again, he was solid. Like, he did
- 13:29Speaker 2: a lot of good things.
- 13:30Speaker 3: I mean, it feels like, too, against these teams, too,
- 13:33Speaker 3: a lot of people, probably including me, when you're watching live,
- 13:36Speaker 3: you're like, you just don't think Ohio should be able
- 13:37Speaker 3: to do anything good at all. And that's just not
- 13:39Speaker 3: the case. Like they're going to have some good plays
- 13:42Speaker 3: here and there. Like they're, they're good. They're solid football team.
- 13:45Speaker 3: It's not like they're fricking, Oh, what's this team they
- 13:47Speaker 3: played a.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Couple of years ago. But then Cookman, they're, they're not
- 13:52Speaker 1: that bad.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Like speaking to that frost beat, but then Cookman 73
- 13:56Speaker 2: to six.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Oh, how about that? Yeah.
- 14:00Speaker 3: That's one of the worst teams I've ever seen play Nebraska,
- 14:02Speaker 3: but you, yeah, they're, they're, They're going to be salty.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Now this week, this team coming in next week, if it's,
- 14:10Speaker 3: if it's 14, 13 and a half against Bowling Green,
- 14:12Speaker 3: I'm going to be a lot more worried because again,
- 14:14Speaker 3: after week one, you see what all these teams look
- 14:17Speaker 3: like now. And you kind of know, you start to
- 14:18Speaker 3: get a feel for what they look like. And Bowling
- 14:20Speaker 3: Green lost to Hawks in state.
- 14:21Speaker 1: You guys didn't know. So yeah. Yeah.
- 14:24Speaker 2: I think going into the season, Bowling Green out of
- 14:27Speaker 2: the three non-con opponents here are supposed to be the
- 14:32Speaker 2: worst of the three. And so, yeah, we'll see how
- 14:34Speaker 2: that game goes. We'll get to our preview on that
- 14:37Speaker 2: later this week. Let's switch over to offense here and
- 14:42Speaker 2: talk about Dana Holgerson, you know, beginning year three officially
- 14:47Speaker 2: in his offense with Anthony Calandria under the helm. And
- 14:53Speaker 2: I just got to say this, and you want to talk,
- 14:56Speaker 2: you know, identity and what we're trying to do. Is
- 14:59Speaker 2: this what the offense wants to look like? I think
- 15:02Speaker 2: we got a pretty good feel and taste of it
- 15:05Speaker 2: for what the game allowed it to be. I don't
- 15:09Speaker 2: think we're going to know exactly what this full offense
- 15:14Speaker 2: is going to need to look like until we play
- 15:17Speaker 2: a Big Ten team and it's a battle for four quarters.
- 15:23Speaker 2: I say that because how much did we use Anthony
- 15:26Speaker 2: Calandri in the run game? He was able to get
- 15:28Speaker 2: out a couple of times, but design runs, not really. Um,
- 15:35Speaker 2: I said Calandria and I haven't even, I just, I
- 15:37Speaker 2: want to say this guy.
- 15:38Speaker 4: Wow.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Like, but I exceeded my expectations. I'm not going to
- 15:44Speaker 2: say blew it off the, blew it off the charts,
- 15:46Speaker 2: but like he is what we've heard as far as
- 15:53Speaker 2: going to do with his thing. And the, the, the pressure,
- 15:57Speaker 2: the moments aren't going to get to him because he's
- 16:00Speaker 2: he's got confidence that it's going to happen. Some of
- 16:03Speaker 2: his balls that he threw early in that game, first
- 16:05Speaker 2: half were like just the outreach of linebackers and safeties.
- 16:11Speaker 2: And they ended up looking like great balls and you're going,
- 16:13Speaker 2: Holy cow. And he, and some out routes, like he's
- 16:16Speaker 2: catching and throwing it no matter what, like again, and
- 16:18Speaker 2: those things all work and awesome. Like, and, and they
- 16:22Speaker 2: look really good. My biggest takeaway from him, we knew
- 16:25Speaker 2: he kind of was a runner. And I think if
- 16:27Speaker 2: you was one of those things that you say, Oh,
- 16:30Speaker 2: This quarterback's a runner. For whatever reason, your brain goes, well, then.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Then our Robinson would be like someone, yeah.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Yeah, and then you go, well, can he throw it?
- 16:39Speaker 2: Like if they're a really good runner, then are they
- 16:41Speaker 2: just not as good passing? I think this game showed that, no,
- 16:46Speaker 2: like he's got an arm. He can sling the sucker. And,
- 16:50Speaker 2: I mean, at times, I mean, I think he just
- 16:53Speaker 2: throws bullets. Like he just darts them in there, which is,
- 16:57Speaker 2: I don't know, I guess not bad. I was, I was,
- 17:00Speaker 2: I was very encouraged by Calandra and what we saw
- 17:02Speaker 2: with him. Even in that first, I mean, first step
- 17:05Speaker 2: in second half, like very impressed. He went for two 75,
- 17:08Speaker 2: three touchdowns and a rushing touchdown. No. And, and big,
- 17:11Speaker 2: big stat, no turnovers.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Isn't that great to see a guy that would not just,
- 17:16Speaker 3: if he has any pressure at all, and I just
- 17:17Speaker 3: fall down the pocket instead of, and he can actually
- 17:19Speaker 3: move out and not be out of, out of breath
- 17:24Speaker 3: after a straight up dinner. I might've quit that game.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Cause it's too hot.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Like, this guy, this guy can, the running game. I
- 17:33Speaker 3: don't think we saw that much from him like yet,
- 17:35Speaker 3: but just how he can move in the pocket is amazing.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Like have a guy that can actually elude defenders and
- 17:40Speaker 3: move around and keep plays alive is the main thing.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Well, I was not keeping a place alive at all.
- 17:45Speaker 3: If you keep plays lives, it lets you, that's where
- 17:48Speaker 3: you get open guys downfield because defense loses their time
- 17:51Speaker 3: and their.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Their actual play, what happens. So that's, that's real encouraging part.
- 17:57Speaker 3: I did see a lot of people saying his bullets.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Are the reason why people were dropping the balls.
- 18:03Speaker 3: That's a bull crap excuse to catch those balls.
- 18:06Speaker 1: If it's on your hands, catch the balls. Who cares?
- 18:09Speaker 3: Yeah, it's encouraging to see this guy's not scared to
- 18:14Speaker 3: throw the ball. That's why I said there's going to
- 18:16Speaker 3: be a couple bad picks he throws this year because
- 18:19Speaker 3: he's going to throw on tight windows and it's going
- 18:22Speaker 3: to look ugly at points. But I don't have a
- 18:25Speaker 3: quarterback that's do that than a quarterback that's scared to throw.
- 18:27Speaker 1: In those windows. You're right.
- 18:30Speaker 2: There, there were some drop passes and yeah, drop passes
- 18:33Speaker 2: are obviously the ball is in a perfect spot. Every time, uh,
- 18:39Speaker 2: your chances of catching it are higher. I would say
- 18:41Speaker 2: a lot of his passes aren't in the exact perfect spot,
- 18:43Speaker 2: but they're very, very catchable and they're thrown hard. Um,
- 18:47Speaker 2: so I mean, if you're placing blame somewhere, I guess
- 18:49Speaker 2: go wherever.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:49Speaker 2: There were some drop passes still this game. Uh, the, the, the,
- 18:55Speaker 2: the fun thing from this offense and how the game
- 18:58Speaker 2: flow went that you saw, and this is why you
- 19:00Speaker 2: got to look at a game in full. We physically,
- 19:05Speaker 2: by the end of the game, just had them just exhausted. We,
- 19:10Speaker 2: we wore them down. And by the way, those last,
- 19:13Speaker 2: that fourth quarter, like we were, we were getting six
- 19:17Speaker 2: yards to carry 12 yards to carry eight yards. Like
- 19:20Speaker 2: we were just saying, you know what, we're just going
- 19:21Speaker 2: to run it now. And, and, and worry out and
- 19:24Speaker 2: we did that and that was I mean that's that's
- 19:27Speaker 2: a very big step forwards I think and what a
- 19:31Speaker 2: lot of people especially old Nebraska fans like that that's
- 19:33Speaker 2: what we want to see and that's what happened that
- 19:35Speaker 2: game and again it's against Ohio put a caveat on
- 19:38Speaker 2: that and Ohio might be decent we'll see where they
- 19:41Speaker 2: end up but it's still a game opener it's not
- 19:43Speaker 2: a it's not a big 10 team that we'll be
- 19:46Speaker 2: facing later in the year but it's a good sign
- 19:49Speaker 2: that we were able to do that. Because, again, years past,
- 19:52Speaker 2: I don't care who the hell we're playing. How many
- 19:53Speaker 2: teams have we been able to wear down and do
- 19:56Speaker 2: that to? Not many. I don't care what team they are.
- 20:00Speaker 3: Yeah, every team comes in thinking that there's going to
- 20:02Speaker 3: be a physical Nebraska now. And being able to look
- 20:05Speaker 3: a little physical in that first game and running back
- 20:08Speaker 3: is super encouraging.
- 20:10Speaker 1: So are we going to dive into the star of
- 20:11Speaker 1: the show?
- 20:12Speaker 2: Yeah, next I was going to talk about these running
- 20:15Speaker 2: backs and specifically one guy in particular, but I'll say
- 20:20Speaker 2: this before we dive into the one that we're going
- 20:22Speaker 2: to talk about the most, but all three running backs
- 20:26Speaker 2: I thought did a lot of really good things. And
- 20:28Speaker 2: going back and watching some of the game, like the
- 20:31Speaker 2: one that's not going to talk about really at all
- 20:33Speaker 2: this week by anybody is the one who took the
- 20:35Speaker 2: first nap in Isaiah Mosey and He did a good job. Like,
- 20:40Speaker 2: I'm not– because he's not getting talked about, it doesn't
- 20:43Speaker 2: mean he had a crappy game. The other guy, a
- 20:45Speaker 2: couple guys just had a couple of plays, and that
- 20:48Speaker 2: stood out more. But Kai Nelson had 129 yards and
- 20:51Speaker 2: two touchdowns. And that big 51-yard catch and run off
- 20:57Speaker 2: the dump down, that was his highlight of the show.
- 20:59Speaker 2: But the guy that really impressed all of Husker Nation
- 21:05Speaker 2: and caught my eye– In all of our eyes, it's
- 21:10Speaker 2: Jamal Rule. Yep. 122 yards on 15 carries, 169 all-purpose yards,
- 21:16Speaker 2: like three touchdowns. I heard on the radio on the
- 21:20Speaker 2: way home, three touchdowns by a true freshman in their
- 21:24Speaker 2: first game was the first time since like 20, I
- 21:26Speaker 2: think it was like 2014 or 2016 in all of FBS. Wow.
- 21:30Speaker 2: I mean, he was fantastic.
- 21:36Speaker 3: It's not only the speed that he has, but physical runner,
- 21:39Speaker 3: which is great to see.
- 21:41Speaker 1: He will not, he will not go down easy.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Um, now this was, this is not what you and
- 21:47Speaker 3: Austin said coming into it, but I was like, for
- 21:49Speaker 3: these first three games, I'd like to see a true
- 21:52Speaker 3: number one running back. And then the other two behind him, uh,
- 21:55Speaker 3: come in third down or be like, especially pass catch
- 21:57Speaker 3: or whatever. I don't know if you can say quite
- 21:59Speaker 3: yet that he's for sure. The number one, um, he's,
- 22:03Speaker 3: he's about as close as you can get to saying
- 22:04Speaker 3: that he will be now. you'd think that he's going
- 22:07Speaker 3: to get the first snap coming in.
- 22:09Speaker 1: The bowling green game. We don't know, but man, that
- 22:11Speaker 1: was impressive to watch.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Just a guy that you come into game. You can
- 22:17Speaker 3: trust is probably going to get 75 yards plus now.
- 22:20Speaker 2: On the ground.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:23Speaker 2: And to, to get a number one running back, a
- 22:27Speaker 2: guy's got to really stand out amongst the others. Now,
- 22:29Speaker 2: and the thing is he definitely did this game.
- 22:34Speaker 1: He played well, like really well too.
- 22:35Speaker 2: So it's, Well, that's what I'm saying. Mosey had some
- 22:38Speaker 2: good moments too, just not any big, big plays. So
- 22:41Speaker 2: it's like you feel pretty good about the running back room. Again,
- 22:46Speaker 2: caveat Ohio. But you feel good about where that's at.
- 22:49Speaker 2: And Jamal Rule, here's what I saw out of him.
- 22:51Speaker 2: And he was supposed to be this maybe third down back.
- 22:54Speaker 2: The dude is explosive. He has a first step when
- 22:59Speaker 2: he wants to put his foot in the ground and
- 23:02Speaker 2: get three yards off. bang, just like that. Like he,
- 23:05Speaker 2: that was what I was like, Whoa. I think I
- 23:07Speaker 2: texted a couple of people during the game too. I'm like, well,
- 23:09Speaker 2: we better, we better win seven or eight or, you know,
- 23:12Speaker 2: have a good quote unquote, good season. Otherwise he's gone.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Like someone's going to pay him a lot of money.
- 23:18Speaker 1: You're already thinking that. Yeah.
- 23:21Speaker 2: I don't think that if we don't have a good
- 23:23Speaker 2: season and we have, he's someone's going to pay him
- 23:26Speaker 2: money to go play somewhere else more.
- 23:27Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Or more or equal than what we're going to pay him. And, uh,
- 23:34Speaker 2: he's gonna say I'm gonna go play for a team
- 23:36Speaker 2: that can win more games than Nebraska can but anyways
- 23:40Speaker 2: I mean I that's why I thought he was he
- 23:42Speaker 2: was very impressive like and and that was what the
- 23:46Speaker 2: chatter was after the spring game performance and obviously he's
- 23:50Speaker 2: splitting reps with two guys that were here a year
- 23:54Speaker 2: before him like yeah so I mean I think if
- 23:57Speaker 2: you want to give a game ball out like Oh,
- 24:00Speaker 2: it's to him. That's where it goes, right? I mean,
- 24:02Speaker 2: Calandra is the other one that I was like, whoa,
- 24:04Speaker 2: that was good.
- 24:04Speaker 4: Yeah, going into that game, I did not think that
- 24:11Speaker 4: we'd be like, holy crap, we have a star running
- 24:14Speaker 4: back here.
- 24:15Speaker 3: I thought it was going to be like all three
- 24:18Speaker 3: of them were great. We have no idea who's going
- 24:21Speaker 3: to be number one here. But coming out of the
- 24:22Speaker 3: game or going in, I did not think we'd be like,
- 24:24Speaker 3: holy crap, we might actually have a star here.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Yeah, when you're evaluating games and going back and thinking
- 24:30Speaker 2: back to how you think plays went or how game
- 24:34Speaker 2: flow went, you're going back to expectation on what you
- 24:37Speaker 2: expect to go into the game a lot of times, right?
- 24:39Speaker 2: You can obviously expect what you want in 10 years
- 24:43Speaker 2: or five years, this is what I expect, but you're
- 24:45Speaker 2: usually going into a game and then after the game saying, man,
- 24:48Speaker 2: this went well or poor or as I expected because
- 24:52Speaker 2: of what you had of thought going into the game.
- 24:55Speaker 2: that single player of Jamal rule is one that whatever
- 24:58Speaker 2: you had in your mind of like, let's see what happens. I, he,
- 25:01Speaker 2: he definitely exceeded your expectations coming out of that.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:06Speaker 3: But then again, he was a freshman. Like we had
- 25:07Speaker 3: no clue coming, coming in, what he was going to
- 25:09Speaker 3: be like or whatever. So, I mean, there was off
- 25:11Speaker 3: season hype around him. So we're like, let's see it.
- 25:14Speaker 1: And you know what? He proved it. Very, very impressive
- 25:17Speaker 1: game by him.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Switching over to the defense. I know we've talked a
- 25:22Speaker 2: lot about them in the first half. As we talk
- 25:29Speaker 2: about the defense and what it looked like here under
- 25:32Speaker 2: first-year coordinator Rob Arch, Ohio got 300 yards by the
- 25:37Speaker 2: end of it. We mentioned their quarterback looking decent. I
- 25:44Speaker 2: guess that first play, again, you can't just take a
- 25:46Speaker 2: play out of it. That was weird. I'd never seen
- 25:51Speaker 2: anything like that, which I thought maybe we were past
- 25:53Speaker 2: that in Nebraska of, hey, never seen that before. What
- 25:56Speaker 2: the hell was that? I thought maybe we got over that,
- 25:59Speaker 2: but no, that happened. First play of the game, and
- 26:02Speaker 2: you heard the groans everywhere in the stadium. But overall, again,
- 26:08Speaker 2: we settled in. My takeaway from the defensive line, which
- 26:15Speaker 2: was the question mark coming into the year of– Do
- 26:21Speaker 2: we have enough guys? Do we have enough dudes up there?
- 26:25Speaker 2: I think from an expectation standpoint, I haven't moved one
- 26:28Speaker 2: way or the other. I haven't wavered. There wasn't anything
- 26:31Speaker 2: that you're like, man, like, yeah, that dude is a dude.
- 26:35Speaker 2: That was impressive. But there also wasn't like, oh, shit, like,
- 26:39Speaker 2: we are not getting anything done up front. Yeah. I
- 26:43Speaker 2: made that comment a couple times on getting pressure that,
- 26:45Speaker 2: you know, but overall, like, that is– it was what
- 26:49Speaker 2: it was on the defensive line. There wasn't, you know,
- 26:53Speaker 2: reason to be super jacked about them. And there's not
- 26:56Speaker 2: a reason to be super concerned yet. So that was
- 26:59Speaker 2: my take from the defensive line with the talking point
- 27:02Speaker 2: going in.
- 27:02Speaker 1: I wasn't, yeah, I'm not walking out of it.
- 27:06Speaker 3: Like, Oh my God, we, we're not going to be
- 27:08Speaker 3: able to do anything on the defensive line all this year.
- 27:09Speaker 3: Now there was some, there was some moments where like,
- 27:13Speaker 3: Oh crap, this guy, the main part is what I'm
- 27:16Speaker 3: worried about is, This guy getting 70 yards on the
- 27:19Speaker 3: ground again. Running quarterbacks throughout Rule's tenure here have killed
- 27:23Speaker 3: us the whole time. And I didn't know this guy
- 27:25Speaker 3: coming in was supposed to be like this shifty of
- 27:27Speaker 3: a guy.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Running all over the field.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Now, if they can– the second half, I feel like
- 27:33Speaker 3: they got.
- 27:33Speaker 1: That a little bit more under wraps, I felt like.
- 27:36Speaker 1: That might not be the stats-wise, but.
- 27:41Speaker 3: In the defense as a whole, I feel like is
- 27:43Speaker 3: still wait and see for these, these three games. Like
- 27:46Speaker 3: I'm not walking out and being like, we suck or
- 27:48Speaker 3: we're great. That's that I'm right now in the middle
- 27:50Speaker 3: after that first game. Like, I think we're all right.
- 27:54Speaker 2: And the running quarterback narrative of hasn't never been good at,
- 28:00Speaker 2: you know, under rule. Yes and no. Like the running
- 28:04Speaker 2: quarterback for a reason. It's not like he ran for
- 28:06Speaker 2: 180 yards, right? He had 70 rushing yards. He escaped
- 28:09Speaker 2: some guys out of the pocket. Like, the guy had
- 28:12Speaker 2: some legs, and he's a long, lanky dude, a little
- 28:14Speaker 2: bit tougher to tackle. Like, he was able to accomplish
- 28:16Speaker 2: some of that. I thought after he had a couple
- 28:19Speaker 2: of runs, we adjusted well, put a spy on him.
- 28:23Speaker 2: The second half, I guess maybe there was a drive
- 28:26Speaker 2: in the first half where he tried to scramble, and
- 28:30Speaker 2: we had a guy right there to take him. I mean,
- 28:33Speaker 2: I think he might have got a yard or two,
- 28:34Speaker 2: but to force a punt. He, yeah, I mean, he's
- 28:38Speaker 2: a running quarterback. He's going to get something. He's going
- 28:40Speaker 2: to get some yards. but I wasn't like overly concerned
- 28:45Speaker 2: about that either. But again, I wasn't like thrilled. It's
- 28:47Speaker 2: not like we got to him too many times and
- 28:48Speaker 2: sacked him either. So that was my, my big takeaway on,
- 28:53Speaker 2: for the defense, like again, solid, like, but nothing, nothing
- 28:59Speaker 2: that stood out good or bad one way or the
- 29:01Speaker 2: other there.
- 29:03Speaker 3: That's, that's another huge part about it is what you
- 29:06Speaker 3: said is, uh, you know, just that second half, um,
- 29:10Speaker 3: rules have a little bit of problems with that too
- 29:11Speaker 3: in a tenure too is coming out not being able
- 29:13Speaker 3: to adjust at all second halves for being able to
- 29:15Speaker 3: come out and then look so much better at second
- 29:17Speaker 3: half is encouraging c2 because again it's first half first
- 29:21Speaker 3: game of the season you could chalk it up as
- 29:24Speaker 3: that just early season figuring it.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Out well and you talk about that you mentioned that
- 29:29Speaker 2: you know rule said it coming at his post game
- 29:31Speaker 2: he said there wasn't an adjustment like it we ran
- 29:34Speaker 2: that he said we ran the same plays and we
- 29:36Speaker 2: just stopped shooting ourselves in the foot the second half
- 29:38Speaker 2: it wasn't like it came out and drastically changed anything.
- 29:42Speaker 2: It was just stop being dumb, like we mentioned earlier. That,
- 29:49Speaker 2: to me, is good because it shows that there was
- 29:52Speaker 2: a sense of urgency there at halftime. Speaking of halftime
- 29:56Speaker 2: adjustments and urgency, have you seen the leaked clip of
- 30:00Speaker 2: Lane Kiffin when it was 31, three.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Yes. Yeah. Awesome. Uh, yeah. Talk about a guy that
- 30:09Speaker 1: did not lay back at all.
- 30:12Speaker 2: So it, it, I, I do. I think that obviously
- 30:15Speaker 2: the second half was just a complete domination, you know, I, yeah.
- 30:21Speaker 2: And I guess when we say complete domination score wise, yes,
- 30:24Speaker 2: it was, I think 30, what we scored 35 to
- 30:27Speaker 2: their eight in the second half. was the score. But
- 30:31Speaker 2: the thing that I think was the most encouraging that
- 30:34Speaker 2: you can take away and be like, okay, this is progress.
- 30:37Speaker 2: We go back to this word progress. This is progress, right?
- 30:40Speaker 2: No matter who we're playing, and I had to get
- 30:42Speaker 2: talked into this narrative too a little bit because I
- 30:44Speaker 2: had in my mind it's Ohio, but I think this
- 30:47Speaker 2: is very true. When we go up 28 to 13,
- 30:50Speaker 2: Ohio goes down, scores, goes for two, on a fumbled snap,
- 31:00Speaker 2: picks it up and just throws it up. Gets it.
- 31:03Speaker 2: It's 28, 21.
- 31:04Speaker 1: And.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Oh crap.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Yep.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Here we go. What has take Ohio out of it?
- 31:11Speaker 2: What is this offense done? The coming out. You go,
- 31:15Speaker 2: you go bang, bang, bang three and out and punt
- 31:18Speaker 2: it back to Ohio, right around midfield. And here we go.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Like that didn't happen. We came out and Calandra took
- 31:25Speaker 2: us down, put us in the end zone. We go
- 31:28Speaker 2: up 35-21 and you back going, okay, like, this is, like,
- 31:34Speaker 2: to me, if you want to talk about a step forward,
- 31:37Speaker 2: right there, it's huge. And that's a lot on Anthony
- 31:41Speaker 2: Calandria of just saying, it doesn't, as a Nebraska fan,
- 31:46Speaker 2: you're going, here we go again. Anthony Calandria's like, no. Like,
- 31:49Speaker 2: why would you think that? I'm just going to do
- 31:51Speaker 2: what I do. We're going to go out and score.
- 31:52Speaker 2: And that's what they did. So, Let's start.
- 31:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:55Speaker 3: Let's start doing this for every game this year. Drive
- 31:57Speaker 3: of the game. It could be offense defense right there.
- 31:59Speaker 1: That's drive of the game.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Agreed. Yep. Like that right there was like, Nope, we're
- 32:04Speaker 2: going to take care of business. And then we go down,
- 32:06Speaker 2: we put a couple of touchdowns in late and score
- 32:08Speaker 2: and we win the game 49 21. And that's how
- 32:11Speaker 2: the game ended.
- 32:12Speaker 4: And.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Yep.
- 32:15Speaker 3: That's. That's a big, you don't give these, these lower. Again,
- 32:18Speaker 3: I keep calling lower teams. Ohio's better than what we think, but.
- 32:22Speaker 3: You give these lower teams hope right there. Like you said,
- 32:25Speaker 3: you go three and out, that's when Ohio's going to
- 32:29Speaker 3: come down and score. We're making 28-28. We all know
- 32:31Speaker 3: what's going to happen right there. So to be able
- 32:33Speaker 3: to go down and score, that basically puts this team away.
- 32:36Speaker 3: All their hope is gone.
- 32:38Speaker 2: We might do some of this at work. Today we're
- 32:41Speaker 2: just going to do an overall grade. But one way
- 32:44Speaker 2: Austin and I used to evaluate games is go through
- 32:48Speaker 2: and just like the old papers used to do, and
- 32:50Speaker 2: they probably still do, but you grade every area of
- 32:53Speaker 2: the game, right? You go through, you give it an
- 32:54Speaker 2: A through an F, you add the commentary around it,
- 32:57Speaker 2: and that's how you're evaluating the game. And I think
- 32:59Speaker 2: that's a good way of doing it at times, just
- 33:00Speaker 2: to gauge, like, again, expectations. Now everybody's, as I learned
- 33:06Speaker 2: Saturday night, everybody's grade scales are evaluated differently and have
- 33:13Speaker 2: their own way of what they think is an A
- 33:16Speaker 2: all the way down to an F.
- 33:19Speaker 1: You heard Neff?
- 33:21Speaker 2: For me, a C is like average as expected. I
- 33:27Speaker 2: think a C in a game like that is around
- 33:31Speaker 2: covering the spread. That, I guess, is where the money
- 33:36Speaker 2: expectation is. Not that that has to be where your
- 33:38Speaker 2: team's expectation is, but to me, that's pretty average. And
- 33:42Speaker 2: if you wanted to take everything out of the game
- 33:44Speaker 2: and just say, not even watching the game, We won
- 33:47Speaker 2: by 28. The spread was 23.5. 23.5 is a C.
- 33:52Speaker 2: You're going to bump yourself up a little bit further
- 33:54Speaker 2: than a C. You're going to say C plus, B minus.
- 33:57Speaker 2: You're going to write it off there and be good.
- 33:59Speaker 2: I've heard a lot of B minuses and C pluses
- 34:02Speaker 2: from people when I've been talking to them.
- 34:05Speaker 3: That's exactly where I'm at. I'm at a B minus,
- 34:08Speaker 3: almost B with that. If you tell me at halftime,
- 34:11Speaker 3: I'd go D. But, so halftime D, end of the game,
- 34:15Speaker 3: D minus.
- 34:16Speaker 1: That's a huge jump. I'm not like this team is
- 34:21Speaker 1: great coming out of the game.
- 34:22Speaker 3: I think they will be a very solid, hard team
- 34:27Speaker 3: to beat in the Big Ten now. I don't think
- 34:29Speaker 3: we're going to lose any games we shouldn't lose, which
- 34:31Speaker 3: is good to see. Again, very impressed with that offense
- 34:36Speaker 3: and how they moved the ball, I'd say. So I'd
- 34:39Speaker 3: go B-. A very solid game.
- 34:41Speaker 2: And I gave them a B. Like, I think we're
- 34:44Speaker 2: right at a– I was, again, like, did what we're
- 34:48Speaker 2: supposed to do, but I thought we're better than average, right?
- 34:52Speaker 2: The way that game finished, was it a picture-perfect first game?
- 34:57Speaker 4: No.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Now, you could say it was a picture-perfect game from
- 35:01Speaker 2: the sense that we got a little bit of adversity
- 35:03Speaker 2: and some things to go back and say, that wasn't good.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Don't do that again. Because if everything's all sunshine and
- 35:08Speaker 2: rainbows and you get an A performance in game one,
- 35:13Speaker 2: what do you have to actually build upon and work
- 35:15Speaker 2: upon going into week two and three? You don't. So
- 35:19Speaker 2: there's definitely things after that first half you go, okay, well,
- 35:22Speaker 2: we can't do that again. So maybe a B is
- 35:25Speaker 2: a good spot to be at. Maybe that's what you
- 35:27Speaker 2: want to see and where you want to end up
- 35:29Speaker 2: in a first game against a team. Again, not a nobody,
- 35:36Speaker 2: but I guess we did get ranked the easiest non-con
- 35:39Speaker 2: schedule in all of D1, so maybe they were a nobody.
- 35:41Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 35:42Speaker 4: But.
- 35:43Speaker 1: We have no idea how good Ohio's going to be.
- 35:45Speaker 2: We never do. And every first, every game or every year,
- 35:49Speaker 2: this first few teams you play, you think, man, they're
- 35:53Speaker 2: going to be pretty good. I just, I go back
- 35:55Speaker 2: and think about some of these teams that we've either
- 35:57Speaker 2: lost to or have struggled against. And very rarely have
- 36:02Speaker 2: I looked back and I, man, they're nine and three.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Now Ohio definitely could do that. A lot of times
- 36:07Speaker 2: they end up four and eight, you know, who, gosh, there's,
- 36:11Speaker 2: it was a Florida Atlantic team several years ago that
- 36:15Speaker 2: was like, we won by a touchdown or something. I'm like, man,
- 36:17Speaker 2: they're going to be good. And they won two games
- 36:18Speaker 2: all year.
- 36:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:20Speaker 1: I can't remember that quarter.
- 36:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:21Speaker 1: He lit us up.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Hey, how about losing to Northwestern in Ireland being like,
- 36:25Speaker 2: Oh yeah. Like maybe Northwestern is decent. Like they went,
- 36:28Speaker 2: that's the only game they won the rest of the year.
- 36:30Speaker 1: They lost an FCS team next, next week. Didn't they?
- 36:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:35Speaker 3: So you, I mean, I, it could be like you
- 36:39Speaker 3: look back in Ohio's three 90 in the year. And
- 36:41Speaker 3: we were like, if we're like five and seven, we're like, okay,
- 36:44Speaker 3: well that should have been the sign right there.
- 36:46Speaker 1: That, that first half of Ohio, who knows?
- 36:48Speaker 2: And I guess gut check. I don't think that's the case.
- 36:52Speaker 2: I just, speaking on past history that it hasn't happened.
- 36:57Speaker 2: And you know what, if they are good, then maybe
- 36:58Speaker 2: we'll be good too. Like that. And that's, that's the
- 37:00Speaker 2: hope side of things. That's what you want to believe.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Like maybe they win nine games. Maybe that means we're
- 37:05Speaker 2: winning seven or eight. If you want to go down
- 37:06Speaker 2: that road, that'd be great. So, close here, Dak. I
- 37:11Speaker 2: think we might have the same word, actually. You have
- 37:14Speaker 2: to describe the game in one word. What would that be?
- 37:19Speaker 1: Solid.
- 37:20Speaker 2: That's my word.
- 37:22Speaker 1: Yeah, solid.
- 37:23Speaker 2: I feel like it was a very common word to say.
- 37:30Speaker 3: Nothing you're Jump for Joy walking out of yet, except
- 37:33Speaker 3: for Calandra and Jamal Rule. You are Jump for Joy
- 37:35Speaker 3: for them, but other than that, every, every other position
- 37:40Speaker 3: outside of the quarterback or running back, I think we're solid,
- 37:43Speaker 3: but let's see some more coming up.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Yeah. I, and my, my word or phrase is like
- 37:50Speaker 2: good first game. Like that, that, that's what I kept
- 37:53Speaker 2: going back to is it's, it's the first game. There's
- 37:57Speaker 2: some stuff that you kinked and worked out and, and
- 38:00Speaker 2: it is solid. Like it was, yep. Good job. Move
- 38:03Speaker 2: on to bowling green. We don't got to sit here
- 38:06Speaker 2: and be all, nitpicky like I thought we were going
- 38:09Speaker 2: to be after the first half, but we're also not
- 38:12Speaker 2: like jumping for joy and saying this team's going to
- 38:16Speaker 2: go undefeated, right?
- 38:17Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 38:18Speaker 3: No, there's still plenty of work on there. You're not
- 38:19Speaker 3: looking at me like, oh, there's nothing to work on.
- 38:22Speaker 1: We're going to be great. Oh, no.
- 38:23Speaker 3: There's still plenty of work on. Did you see ESPN
- 38:26Speaker 3: FBI has this rank 22?
- 38:27Speaker 2: Well, I saw it right when it was posted. Don't
- 38:30Speaker 2: give me work.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Nope.
- 38:31Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, so I don't think we're that spot yet,
- 38:37Speaker 3: but Just get out of these three games. Keep looking
- 38:40Speaker 3: better as it goes on. Now, I'll have a different
- 38:45Speaker 3: thing to say. If it's 14-13 Bowling Green at half
- 38:47Speaker 3: or Nebraska beating Bowling Green at half, 14-13, then I'll
- 38:50Speaker 3: be a little bit more worried.
- 38:53Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll dive deeper into Bowling Green on Thursday, but
- 38:55Speaker 2: my one preview of that was on a different national
- 39:01Speaker 2: podcast I listen to. They do a bottom of the
- 39:04Speaker 2: barrel FBS teams, and they listed three And Bowling Green
- 39:09Speaker 2: was one of them.
- 39:10Speaker 1: Yep. They did not look good week one. We'll just
- 39:13Speaker 1: say that. Tough game for them.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Wacky dacky Wednesday tomorrow morning.
- 39:19Speaker 1: You bet.
- 39:21Speaker 2: Go Big Red.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Go Big Red.
- 39:26Speaker 3: The headlines change but the mission stays from memorial stadium
- 39:30Speaker 3: to pba days.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Football saturdays basketball.

- 39:38Speaker 3: time commits camp battles.
