- 0:00Speaker 1: Tony Cats The Morning News ninety three WIBC.
- 0:04Speaker 2: My name is Craig Collins, filling in, thrilled to be
- 0:06Speaker 2: with you.
- 0:07Speaker 1: It's time for our Popcorn Moment, brought to you by
- 0:09Speaker 1: Boer Homer modeling. You hear Tony every single day talk
- 0:12Speaker 1: about how awesome Booer is. Check them out. Do it asap.
- 0:16Speaker 1: But our popcorn moment. I got this one ready to go.
- 0:19Speaker 1: If you're ready, Carl, here it is. It's Jimmy Kimmel.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Of course, he's at the Oscars. I think this is
- 0:26Speaker 1: a vanity Fair after party, actually, and he has asked
- 0:29Speaker 1: a dumb question and gives a dumb answer. Play stupid games,
- 0:32Speaker 1: win stupid prizes. Feels like it's deserved to be a
- 0:35Speaker 1: thing here. The stupid prize might be his show eventually
- 0:38Speaker 1: being also off of television, which would be awesome.
- 0:41Speaker 2: But let's go ahead and play on this.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Are you exhausted at the state of the world and
- 0:46Speaker 3: knowing every night you've got.
- 0:48Speaker 4: To say some looking in my face, Yes, I'm exhausted.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Of course, it's ridiculous. We live in a ridiculous country.
- 0:55Speaker 3: We always lived in a ridiculous country, but it's always ridiculous.
- 0:58Speaker 4: In a fun mister tea kind of way. Right now,
- 1:01Speaker 4: we've got a different mister T. Yeah it's Sarto. Wow.
- 1:04Speaker 1: I didn't think of it as, by the way, terrible
- 1:06Speaker 1: joke to claim Trump is a different kind of mister T.
- 1:09Speaker 2: But here's the thing, He's not exhausted at all.
- 1:12Speaker 1: What I'm annoyed so much about in this audio that
- 1:15Speaker 1: I played with Kimmel complaining and everybody at the Oscar
- 1:19Speaker 1: is saying how terrible it was that you know Trump's
- 1:21Speaker 1: in office, because basically that's the undercurrent sentiment if they're
- 1:24Speaker 1: not saying it out loud to everything they say. But
- 1:27Speaker 1: it's how much liberals enjoy this they do. Kimmell enjoys this.
- 1:31Speaker 1: He enjoys crapping on Trump. He enjoys going out there
- 1:34Speaker 1: and saying the world is on fire and terrible every
- 1:37Speaker 1: single day.
- 1:37Speaker 2: They like it.
- 1:38Speaker 1: They act like they're exhausted and oh they want this
- 1:41Speaker 1: fight to be over, but they enjoy it.
- 1:43Speaker 2: They think they're more important at these times.
- 1:46Speaker 1: They become even more arrogant and self obsessed than they
- 1:49Speaker 1: already are, which is hilarious to watch. But that's the
- 1:53Speaker 1: one thing that most annoyed me in that audio. Which
- 1:55Speaker 1: is saying something because a lot of it's annoying. The
- 1:58Speaker 1: question itself, I think is pretty stupid. But beyond the question,
- 2:01Speaker 1: you also have just the simple sentiment of hey, Jimmy.
- 2:04Speaker 2: How are you doing? A Thing's okay?
- 2:06Speaker 1: Like here, I don't even mean to rant about this
- 2:08Speaker 1: for so long, but I can't help it, like.
- 2:10Speaker 2: They're the ones who are going to fix it.
- 2:12Speaker 1: The thing about these stupid people in media who can
- 2:16Speaker 1: plain everyday, especially the comedian ones who can plain every
- 2:18Speaker 1: day about Trump, They're not going to be the people
- 2:21Speaker 1: that are looked to to be the fixers. Dan Bongino
- 2:24Speaker 1: has been saying that in his podcast since his return
- 2:27Speaker 1: to podcasting. A lot is if you're really upset, if
- 2:29Speaker 1: you really want to complain, go do something. And what
- 2:33Speaker 1: he means by that is go get some sort of
- 2:35Speaker 1: political office yourself, however high you can go. If you're
- 2:38Speaker 1: a famous celebrity, go ahead and try to get a role,
- 2:42Speaker 1: you know, fairly significant within our political system and see
- 2:45Speaker 1: if people want to elect you and put you into
- 2:47Speaker 1: a position of power and get certain things done or
- 2:50Speaker 1: break things the way things are breaking in New York
- 2:52Speaker 1: right now. Go ahead and do that, because they do
- 2:55Speaker 1: love these moments. They do love to feel as though
- 2:58Speaker 1: they're more important, and they also love the fact that
- 3:00Speaker 1: nothing is expected to them, that when push comes to shove,
- 3:03Speaker 1: they get to retreat into their corner and not actually
- 3:06Speaker 1: do any work, because that's not actually the game at all.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I'm not saying they'd be good at this, by the way,
- 3:11Speaker 1: they'd be uniquely bad at it. And I will just
- 3:13Speaker 1: say quickly that Mamdonnie already failing in New York is
- 3:16Speaker 1: kind of amazing. One of the things he said recently
- 3:19Speaker 1: is that if he can't get taxes to be raised
- 3:21Speaker 1: more on the rich, which is a promise every Democrat
- 3:24Speaker 1: everywhere in the country makes, and it's not going to
- 3:27Speaker 1: work for a.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Variety of reasons.
- 3:29Speaker 1: If you can't get that done, guess what he's going
- 3:32Speaker 1: to begrudgingly, Ah, he doesn't want to do it, but
- 3:34Speaker 1: raise taxes on everybody else.
- 3:36Speaker 2: That's what they do.
- 3:37Speaker 1: That's the democratic pattern is I'm going to raise taxes
- 3:40Speaker 1: on just the rich, I promise, and then all right,
- 3:42Speaker 1: that didn't work. I want your money now, because you're
- 3:44Speaker 1: going to have to give it to me. That's how
- 3:46Speaker 1: things go. All right, let's shift gears for just a
- 3:49Speaker 1: couple minutes and have a little bit of fun during
- 3:51Speaker 1: this segment. Movies that are a ten out of ten
- 3:55Speaker 1: with zero bad moments. According to Reddit, these movies are
- 3:59Speaker 1: really interesting to have made this list of the best
- 4:02Speaker 1: of the best with no no moments that annoy you
- 4:05Speaker 1: or you know you think should have been edited out.
- 4:07Speaker 1: The number one movie named for you know, perfect from
- 4:11Speaker 1: beginning to end, Alien nineteen seventy nine.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Alien.
- 4:15Speaker 1: I don't know if Matt would have thoughts about Alien
- 4:17Speaker 1: being one of the best movies in the history of
- 4:19Speaker 1: the world.
- 4:20Speaker 3: I'm one of the rare people that think Aliens is
- 4:23Speaker 3: actually better than Alien.
- 4:25Speaker 4: You know, their sequel, I mean, yeah, you.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Know, I know, come on, that's the eighty six sequel, right.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Yeah, more Aliens instead of just ones. I'm like, oh,
- 4:33Speaker 3: your coup running over.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I mean, I'm going to agree with you, Matt. I'm
- 4:37Speaker 1: one of the other. Aliens did not make this list
- 4:40Speaker 1: of movies that are perfect from end to end. Alien did.
- 4:43Speaker 1: But if I was in the room after the Alien
- 4:45Speaker 1: movie was so successful and they were like, what should
- 4:47Speaker 1: we do for the second one, I'd be like, I
- 4:48Speaker 1: don't know, more Aliens, let's do that.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Let's add more and it'll be better right.
- 4:53Speaker 3: More collins with shaw Shank redemption on that list of
- 4:59Speaker 3: perfect movie.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Shawh Shank came in at number nine and getting to
- 5:04Speaker 1: end just great.
- 5:05Speaker 4: What about Finding Nemo? Is that on the list?
- 5:08Speaker 2: My Nemo is not on the list.
- 5:09Speaker 1: It is an animated movie in the top five, though,
- 5:11Speaker 1: and I was surprised at what it is, The Emperor's
- 5:14Speaker 1: New Groove.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Are you familiar with this at all?
- 5:17Speaker 4: No?
- 5:18Speaker 2: Okay, The Emperor's New Groove.
- 5:21Speaker 1: The only reason I know about this movie is it's
- 5:24Speaker 1: a Disney movie made I think in like two thousand
- 5:27Speaker 1: that my adult older sister wound up obsessed with.
- 5:31Speaker 2: She loved the movie.
- 5:31Speaker 1: I think David Spade is the lead voice in it,
- 5:34Speaker 1: and it's definitely a very sarcastic, stupid, you know, Disney movie.
- 5:38Speaker 1: John Goodman is another voice in it. My sister loved it.
- 5:42Speaker 1: She quoted all the time. He talked about like, I
- 5:44Speaker 1: don't know why. The Emperor's New Groove was one of
- 5:46Speaker 1: those movies that caught the attention of adult Disney people,
- 5:51Speaker 1: not young Disney people. Otherwise, I don't think it's great,
- 5:54Speaker 1: but it made number four in this list. Mean girls
- 5:56Speaker 1: and my cousin Vinnie rounded out the top four, along
- 5:59Speaker 1: with The Emperor's New Groove An Alien.
- 6:01Speaker 4: Mean Girls.
- 6:02Speaker 3: I know it's just memed all over the place, quoted
- 6:05Speaker 3: all the time by the women folk. But folk, Yeah,
- 6:10Speaker 3: I'm telling you, it's a fantastic movie.
- 6:12Speaker 4: It is very good, a very good movie. Funny.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Do you mention it to the women folk? Do you
- 6:17Speaker 1: mention like I've seen Mean Girls? Does that help you
- 6:19Speaker 1: out there?
- 6:20Speaker 3: If there's a conversation, I'll try to nudge myself into it,
- 6:23Speaker 3: you know, I'll be like, Hey, that Lindsay Lohan could
- 6:26Speaker 3: do math in that movie.
- 6:27Speaker 4: You know, they'll wow, you're connected, you know, you know,
- 6:31Speaker 4: Mean Girls and Boom.
- 6:32Speaker 2: And one of the other ones can predict the weather.
- 6:34Speaker 2: That's pretty amazing.
- 6:36Speaker 4: You yuh to do that? Say it's such a funny movie.
- 6:38Speaker 4: It's a good minute. It is.
- 6:40Speaker 1: The Princess Bride was number seven on this list Fast
- 6:42Speaker 1: thank was nine. As we said a second ago, that's
- 6:44Speaker 1: just wrong. These movies are way too low down the list,
- 6:48Speaker 1: like they should have beaten things like The Emperor's New Groove.
- 6:50Speaker 1: And then finally one last one to mention, Back to
- 6:53Speaker 1: the Future came in at eleven. You know, it's not
- 6:55Speaker 1: in the top twenty. Godfather seems wrong to me. That's
- 7:00Speaker 1: one of the Hallmark best movies ever of all time,
- 7:02Speaker 1: and it's not mentioned here at all because young people
- 7:04Speaker 1: don't understand are there.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Any mob movies in the top ten, because I can
- 7:08Speaker 3: like list a thousand of them that were just.
- 7:10Speaker 1: No mob movies on the list. Oh, I didn't get
- 7:12Speaker 1: a single Oh excuse me, I take that back. There
- 7:14Speaker 1: is Goodfellas. There's only one mob movie.
- 7:16Speaker 2: On the list.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Good Fellas is amazing, you know, it is amazing.
- 7:18Speaker 3: That's fair Casino, But then again, I don't know when
- 7:23Speaker 3: you have a movie, like a director that insists on going.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Three hours on every scene.
- 7:28Speaker 2: True movie, you know that might be a weak point there.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Yeah, but I thought Casino was close to a perfect
- 7:33Speaker 3: Then again, when it gets into the end of just
- 7:35Speaker 3: about the ginger character, you know, love interest of Robert
- 7:39Speaker 3: de Niro, it kind of starts to drag a little bit.
- 7:41Speaker 3: In the beginning, you know, it's all the casino stuff,
- 7:43Speaker 3: the wheeling and deal and we're smashing hands with hammers
- 7:45Speaker 3: and it's like, yeah, this is a fun movie, but
- 7:48Speaker 3: it's just about some woman who's getting a little too
- 7:51Speaker 3: high and having too many affairs.
- 7:53Speaker 1: You know, I just I just realized there's something I
- 7:55Speaker 1: need in my life now, and I probably need it
- 7:57Speaker 1: to be put up on social media. Matt Bear's third
- 8:00Speaker 1: second explanation of movies. Because the way you described Casino,
- 8:04Speaker 1: the beginning of Casino was excellent. It's true there's a
- 8:07Speaker 1: lot of casino action in smashing in people's hands that
- 8:09Speaker 1: does happen, So that makes it a pretty amazing movie.
- 8:12Speaker 3: Well, think about it, like as a Midwestern or somebody
- 8:14Speaker 3: who didn't grow up around the mob or casinos there
- 8:18Speaker 3: anything about the Tangiers or Vegas or anything like that.
- 8:21Speaker 4: I mean, I'm watching this for the first time.
- 8:22Speaker 3: I guess when I'm a teenager early twenties, and I'm like,
- 8:25Speaker 3: these people are cool, right, you know, and everybody, I mean,
- 8:30Speaker 3: we would watch that and then like Texas Hold Them
- 8:32Speaker 3: Crazy came out and everybody's watching Casino, whether playing in
- 8:34Speaker 3: Texas Hold Them. I mean, it was a cultural movie.
- 8:37Speaker 3: It was big on my generation. It had a big influence.
- 8:40Speaker 2: You know.
- 8:40Speaker 1: No, it's fantastic. I want you to do more. Thirty
- 8:43Speaker 1: second movie synopsis. I want these throughout the day through
- 8:47Speaker 1: their every time I fill in I want to hear
- 8:49Speaker 1: Matt Bear talk about a movie we got to see
- 8:51Speaker 1: and tell me in thirty seconds why. But all right,
- 8:53Speaker 1: we got to take a break. A lot coming up.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I mask got your traffic, and we will do our
- 8:58Speaker 1: marketplace segment after that.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Matt take it all like
