- 0:08Speaker 1: Good morning, you guys. It's me, James R. Jr. I
- 0:11am still coming to you from the Midwest, an undisclosed location.
- 0:17I'm just kidding. I don't think I'm in. No, I'm in.
- 0:21I'm in Cleveland, Indiana. It's the morning. It's morning. Let
- 0:27me record this. It's overcast and gray outside. It rained.
- 0:37We're going to be at Mother's Hot Day Day 86
- 0:38here in Indiana. I just wanted to come in and
- 0:42say how do you guys? You guys have seen a
- 0:47few videos of me here since I've been posting stuff
- 0:51and more videos are coming out. Make sure you're following
- 0:55GLJ Media. And I'm ahead of time in my life.
- 1:01I have been here almost a month. the Midwest, Indiana
- 1:06and Illinois areas. And I have made so many new friends,
- 1:13new connections, reestablished older connections and older friends. It was
- 1:19my third time here. And I'm just, I, it's, it's,
- 1:25it's been such a godsend for me to be able
- 1:29to leave L.A., and my just situations. You guys know
- 1:35my situations to leave and see other scenery, focus on
- 1:42other things. Now I will admit, um, I'm probably neglecting
- 1:47a few things, um, by myself, but I don't care
- 1:51because I am relaxed. I'm tired. I mean, I do
- 1:56a lot of work, but I'm relaxed. I'm motivated, um, productive, um,
- 2:03It's about me. I keep saying that it's about me.
- 2:07When I'm in LA, it's about everybody else. But for
- 2:09when I'm home, it's about me. I get to focus
- 2:11on me and my businesses and my work and who
- 2:14I am. And there's such a, it's like they always
- 2:22use those words like, you know, tanks. You know, I
- 2:25love tanking. This tank, I'm gonna tank. I feel like
- 2:27the James Lock Jr. tank is being filled. It's overflowing
- 2:30right now because it's about me. for a change. And
- 2:34I think people who are leaders of a company or
- 2:42are caregiving someone or parents of small children or come
- 2:48from big family, I think there's people, anybody in some
- 2:51kind of like leadership position, sometimes you get lost in
- 2:57all of that. And as you're lost in all of that,
- 3:02Somehow you forget yourself and you hear it all the time.
- 3:05Like you'll hear people go, you know, I was married
- 3:07to my husband for 50 years and then he died
- 3:10and I don't know what to do. You're not a
- 3:14dumb person. It was like, I don't know. I don't
- 3:16know how to pay my phone bill, you know, because
- 3:18he did it all the time or I don't or friends.
- 3:22But I have friends that we never really hang out
- 3:23together because I was always taking care of the family.
- 3:26You hear that all the time. And I remember I
- 3:28had a piece of that. when my daughters got grown
- 3:32and I grew up and it's like, they're, they're grown now.
- 3:35And so now the major part is done. The day-to-day
- 3:40raising was done. And now I can choose what life
- 3:45I kind of want. You know, her mother and I
- 3:47were like, well, I guess we can kind of do
- 3:48what we want. It feels like that a little bit.
- 3:54And as you know, the last three and a half
- 3:56years or so have been just me taking care of everything.
- 4:00And it's not that I'm not taking care of everything now,
- 4:02I'm still taking care of stuff, just from far away.
- 4:06But I have been so locked into not being able
- 4:11to leave, to go anywhere, because something would happen, then
- 4:14something else would happen, then something else would happen. And
- 4:16I was so just focused, whether it was my brother,
- 4:20who had his illness, who was in the hospital, or
- 4:22my mom and all her stuff, or me and all
- 4:26my stuff. plus running the businesses and everything, I feel re-energized.
- 4:32And it's been so, it's hard for people to say like,
- 4:37I miss you and I miss you and I appreciate that.
- 4:45I love all of them. I don't miss them. Maybe
- 4:48I would if I was gone for another two months,
- 4:51then it would hit me. But I'm like, I've only been,
- 4:53I've been stuck in LA for like two and a
- 4:55half years. And now I'm free for just, it's only
- 4:59been a month, almost. I like, I don't miss anybody.
- 5:03I don't. It's like, I'm like, I wish I could
- 5:13be gone longer. And see, for me, back in the
- 5:19day when life was easier, I used to go away
- 5:22for months at a time. I used to travel a lot.
- 5:26And I recognized that then That kept me fresh. That
- 5:30kept me fresh. Can we go and say, Tom, I
- 5:33was home. I could handle things better because I had
- 5:36been somewhere else and other things and, you know, now
- 5:39I'm ready to be. So for me, being like landlocked,
- 5:45stuck in the place for so long, that's not, you know,
- 5:55So that's kind of a funny thing. So when they
- 5:57say like, okay, bye, love you too. Because everyone counts
- 6:04on me. Everyone, I am, in my life, I am
- 6:10the one. I have the role. I come in and
- 6:13I'm the funny one. I'm the friendly one. I'm the
- 6:15calming one. You know, I know what my role is.
- 6:20I know folks are missing that. You take that person out,
- 6:23they miss it. They're like, where did it go? So
- 6:26I get that part. I get it. But for me,
- 6:29I have to chuckle. I'm like, I wish I'd be
- 6:32gone in a couple of months. But then I would
- 6:34start to miss the people. Oh, yeah, I would miss things.
- 6:38Like my garden. I love my garden. I don't miss
- 6:41it right now. I mean, I'm in lots of, I'm
- 6:44in trees. I am learning so much. about subjects that
- 6:50I would never, ever come in contact with. I am
- 6:56talking to people who by appearance and in some ways
- 7:04are very different than I am. We're finding common ground
- 7:08and we're actually finding friendship and we're finding allyship or
- 7:13we're finding, what's the other word? I had a moment
- 7:22with Doug's son, Drew, yesterday. It was homecoming. And I
- 7:27was telling them, I go, you know, I didn't have sons.
- 7:29I had daughters. And I, you know, I, I know
- 7:36it's like to hit, I know it's like to get
- 7:37them ready for events. I know I'm a total girl, dad.
- 7:40I know that stuff. And also my nieces, granddaughters. I just,
- 7:44I'm just so tuned into the ladies. But the guys,
- 7:47I don't have that much experience with in terms of
- 7:49things like this. And the parents were gone. He was
- 7:54getting ready for homecoming. And he's 17, bigger and taller
- 7:57than I am. Nice kid. He was like, James, can
- 8:00you tie my tie for me? And it was funny
- 8:03because I bought the tie for him, first of all,
- 8:07as a present. And he was really appreciative of that.
- 8:10I mean, just really nice kids. And then I was like, oh,
- 8:12my God. This must be what it's like. Because my
- 8:16own father wasn't there for me. And my homecoming and
- 8:20all that stuff. So I was like, oh, my God.
- 8:21I got a little teary-eyed. I was like, oh, my God. Oh,
- 8:28my God. I was like, oh, my God. Yes, I'll
- 8:33do it for you. I had to keep it together.
- 8:36And I was asked, how are you doing? And I
- 8:38was definitely kind of, you know, how are your hands?
- 8:40You know. And I tied a tie for him, put
- 8:42it on for him, took a picture for his parents.
- 8:44I just was like, I just felt like, wow, I
- 8:48get to have another new experience that I've never had before.
- 8:50I went fishing for the first time with my friend
- 8:53RJ and I had a really fun time now. And
- 9:00it's another new experience I never had before. I'm going
- 9:03to have another new experience this week later. Stay tuned
- 9:07for that other video. I'm excited about I've been eating
- 9:11foods I've never had before that are to this region.
- 9:16I'm seeing places I've never seen before. Meeting people I've
- 9:22never met before. It has just been such a... One
- 9:31makes the most. Yes, at the same time, because it's
- 9:40still going on at the same time, I'm still doing
- 9:43my shows, interviewing people. I'm still handling things in Los Angeles.
- 9:49You know, all that stuff. It is, it has been. Now,
- 9:58I want to tell you guys, so if you follow
- 10:00me on social media, a lot of pictures and some
- 10:05videos are all, I recorded them and did them at
- 10:09a certain time. And they're going to be coming out later. So,
- 10:14you'll be seeing stuff I'm not, chances are I will
- 10:17not be in that same spot anymore. I'm It's just
- 10:20that the Wi-Fi here is atrocious. So I have to,
- 10:27if I get Wi-Fi so it's good, then I try
- 10:29to hurry up and do something. So there are a
- 10:31lot of videos and pictures coming out weeks after the
- 10:34actual thing took place. So just keep that in mind
- 10:38that everything is actually timely. That's why I was like,
- 10:44you're still in Chicago. I'm not in Chicago. It's just
- 10:46that I was there. I'm just tagging Chicago. I'm tagging
- 10:49my friend. I guess like, like, like that's just, I'm
- 10:52just sometimes just posting things now. Cause I feel like
- 10:55people want to see what I'm doing. I'm not there.
- 10:58I'm not there anymore, but you know, who cares? It's like, just,
- 11:01I'm just, I want to post stuff. I want to
- 11:03tag people and post their stuff. That's all. That's all
- 11:06that is. So, um, you see some stuff online or
- 11:12see some of these videos. I may have done it
- 11:13a while back and then now it's coming out. Does
- 11:17that make sense? also I'll tell you guys it's early
- 11:26folks let me get some more coffee I love this
- 11:27mug by the way what's funny is this is a
- 11:38Starbucks because I'm drinking Dunkin Donuts coffee I'm glad this
- 11:45time period this time I brought my office with me Basically,
- 11:50it's been wonderful. I have my real computer here and
- 11:54having my stuff with me. And then, of course, after this,
- 11:59I'm going to, I'm going to be going to Vancouver,
- 12:02British Columbia. I'm going to be there for the Hardee's
- 12:05family reunion 10-year anniversary. I got ready for that. I
- 12:08had to buy some clothes because it wasn't going to
- 12:11be very different there than here. And I'm like, I
- 12:13don't have a jacket. I don't have pants. So I'm
- 12:16finding stuff online and getting it in I found some
- 12:20really good stuff online, actually. You know, me and Amazon.
- 12:23And yes, I've gone to the Walmart. I got a
- 12:27few things. I will admit this. Okay, so Walmart is
- 12:30not my favorite place in the world. But I will
- 12:32tell you, they have this brand called George. I don't
- 12:36know if it's just their brand or whatever. It does,
- 12:40if the clothes look good on me. For us big girls.
- 12:42You know, big boys. It looks good for us. So
- 12:45I like their shirts. And, um, I like their collared shirts.
- 12:51I like their t-shirts. These fit really, they're really sturdy
- 12:54and they fit really nice. So I can't complain that much.
- 12:59And the prices are amazing. They're not expensive at all.
- 13:02I don't think they're discontinuing the brand of their bodies,
- 13:04but I've been buying them wherever I go and buying
- 13:05them up. Because I don't have clothes, you guys. I
- 13:08don't have clothes. It's just the weirdest thing. Because I
- 13:12guess I stopped going out places. I just didn't, I
- 13:15stopped buying clothes. I wear the same things every day,
- 13:18all the time. I just wear the same 10 things
- 13:20and rotate them out. And I occasionally go out. And
- 13:24even with that, it's the same, like, two or three things.
- 13:27So I have committed to building my wardrobe because I've
- 13:31been getting out more. Even in LA, I've been getting
- 13:32out more. So we got to do that. Mosquitoes are
- 13:38eating me alive, but not as bad as they could be.
- 13:41Some of the days are like, wow, but they're not
- 13:44as bad. I get some, I'm getting some heat, so
- 13:46I'm not torn apart in pain. Thank God. Thank you, God.
- 13:49So I'm here for another week and a half or so,
- 13:53and then I go to Vancouver, and then I go home.
- 14:02And that's the thing. California, like, all my problems are
- 14:04in California. Oh, my God. Yeah. That's where I go.
- 14:08I don't want to go back to California. I have
- 14:10to go back. I have to go back. Because the
- 14:13one thing I do... Appreciate is all my clients My
- 14:18other world my so this is my media stuff. I'm
- 14:20doing being great and out a lot of stuff, but
- 14:23then I have my Coaching clients Am I organizing clients
- 14:30I love them and that's where I makes my mom
- 14:33makes my money So I'm hooking on getting stuff ready
- 14:37for them Doing that And I said, I'll be excited.
- 14:44I'm getting that all set up. I have some clients
- 14:45waiting for me. I'm ready to do that. Make some
- 14:51good money. And I've got to get to one person
- 14:55on my back. I've got one person I think. If
- 14:57I say let's come back, I might come back. Yes.
- 15:01I'm excited about that. So that's one thing I'm excited about.
- 15:06When I get back, I have that. I have a
- 15:09couple of things lined up. Then it's back to my
- 15:13other stuff I have to do, but I will focus
- 15:14on that later. This video, I'm going to focus on
- 15:18that stuff. Just know, and hopefully my clients are watching
- 15:22this in LA, I am excited to see you guys
- 15:24again and get back to work. So I'm telling you folks,
- 15:29as an organizer, seeing their faces whenever I do any
- 15:34project for them, their smiles are bigger than life. I'm
- 15:41all in. But then it goes back to here. I'm
- 15:44actually making real friends here. And, um, and I, and,
- 15:48and it's going to be hard. It's going to be
- 15:51hard to leave them. And Doug's going to be leaving
- 15:55two days before me, a day before me. He has
- 15:58to go. He has a job and has to leave.
- 16:01So we say goodbye to each other a little prematurely
- 16:04before I leave. Um, and, you know, But I'm going
- 16:10to talk about that right now. I've got a week
- 16:12and a half of that. I'm going to talk about
- 16:14it right now. I think stay my positive state. Mentally,
- 16:20James R. Jr. is doing really good right now. And
- 16:23I don't know how long it's going to last. No
- 16:25one's going to have him when I get back home
- 16:27to L.A. But I'll tell you, I will not forget
- 16:28this feeling over the last month or so. It's been wonderful.
- 16:32Talk to you guys later.
