- 0:55Speaker 2: I wonder if he's still as enthusiastic as he was
- 0:58Speaker 2: last week.
- 0:59Speaker 3: I can go on hours.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Is that what you keep telling yourself? I mean, I
- 1:04Speaker 2: don't got a spotsor ranting like that.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Dude, brother, Let's let's ask what do you?
- 1:11Speaker 2: What do you? What are you? What are you drinking today?
- 1:14Speaker 3: I'm drinking just some plain old sparkling water.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Yeah, in a bag of candy crains mm hmmm, underrated.
- 1:27Speaker 2: I am being different. I'm not having an alcoholic beverage today. Still,
- 1:32Speaker 2: I'm having a Coke zero. Mm hmmm. I don't know
- 1:36Speaker 2: why I got back from Europe. I've been craving just
- 1:39Speaker 2: you got back from all about my troubles travels zero.
- 1:52Speaker 2: It's not sorry, it's not a coke zero. It's a
- 1:54Speaker 2: cog zero. It's not lim gov Oh god, no does
- 2:09Speaker 2: she look No? Sorry, that's an old video. No one's
- 2:13Speaker 2: gonna get this is part two. We just get right
- 2:18Speaker 2: into it. So I was I and I gotta again
- 2:22Speaker 2: thank you podcast like the one we did last week,
- 2:26Speaker 2: is like reasons why I love doing this, Yes, I had.
- 2:30Speaker 2: I'm I'm not gonna sit here and act like I'm
- 2:33Speaker 2: like a super crazy, proficient tactical sharpshooter like editor for audio.
- 2:41Speaker 2: I'm not going to act like that. I've had some
- 2:43Speaker 2: issues with audio, and I'm not afraid. I'm gonna say's
- 2:45Speaker 2: because of my own confidence in myself, not on my
- 2:47Speaker 2: own part, partly on speaker, which I have talked him about.
- 2:51Speaker 2: I haven't heard anything bad about this week's episode or
- 2:54Speaker 2: the week prior, so I'm hoping some of the issues
- 2:58Speaker 2: I had addressed with them have been handled. Just in
- 3:01Speaker 2: regards to audio. Point being, I can there are people
- 3:09Speaker 2: who don't listen to their stuff. You should listen to
- 3:10Speaker 2: your stuff. It's how you get better because you hear things.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Like I know for a fact, I interrupt everyone a lot.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I still do, but not as bad. I tried to
- 3:18Speaker 2: do that. I try to stop doing that. That's my
- 3:20Speaker 2: very bad one. I like to click. I don't know why,
- 3:26Speaker 2: the point being I can usually get through, like once
- 3:28Speaker 2: I listen to the entire episode. You know, we usually
- 3:31Speaker 2: go for like what most hour and a half. I
- 3:33Speaker 2: think you and I did forty five fifty minutes. It
- 3:36Speaker 2: took me almost two hours.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Damn.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I could not stop laughing my ass off.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Episode.
- 3:43Speaker 2: It was a great No, it was good, but like
- 3:46Speaker 2: it's just it's because like I just had to keep
- 3:48Speaker 2: like going back again I had to do. I didn't
- 3:50Speaker 2: do a lot of audio fixing. I just had to
- 3:54Speaker 2: like just chop some like you know, little beats and
- 3:56Speaker 2: like little breast up. Like I just couldn't stop laughing
- 3:58Speaker 2: my ass off because like I can't tell you what
- 4:00Speaker 2: time it was, Like, oh, hey, let's said I did
- 4:03Speaker 2: the whole Uh, let's stop doing the mount rushmore stuff
- 4:07Speaker 2: and let's do what this other Chicago guy said. The
- 4:08Speaker 2: Six Grandfathers that's what used to be called that mountain.
- 4:11Speaker 2: And then like you and I said like one or
- 4:12Speaker 2: two things, and then we just went completely off the
- 4:14Speaker 2: fucking rails and never even touched that again. It's, oh god,
- 4:20Speaker 2: you're so damn right, and hear me get diagnosed that yet.
- 4:23Speaker 2: But no, what I'm trying to make is like it's
- 4:25Speaker 2: just ship like that that just makes this shit fun.
- 4:28Speaker 2: So we so last week we kind of discussed clickity clacks,
- 4:36Speaker 2: very happy feelings of one Kathleen Kennedy leaving.
- 4:41Speaker 3: I would say, I would say.
- 4:45Speaker 2: It was the end of the Return of the Jedi
- 4:47Speaker 2: for you. That's literally what it was. I'm very you're
- 4:51Speaker 2: literally on endoor doing drums on stormtroopers helmets.
- 4:57Speaker 3: I'm very uh ambitious, what's the word interested?
- 5:03Speaker 2: Not really interested, But you're more intrigued.
- 5:06Speaker 3: I'm more very intrigued.
- 5:08Speaker 2: No, you're optimistic. You're optimistic about the future of Lucasfilm. Yes,
- 5:14Speaker 2: I've said for a long time, why do you think
- 5:17Speaker 2: there need to be changed? I wasn't as against her
- 5:22Speaker 2: leadership as a lot of people were. I but I said,
- 5:27Speaker 2: you need to be held accountable. And there were for
- 5:29Speaker 2: as many great things as there was there were three
- 5:31Speaker 2: or four not so good things that happened. I didn't
- 5:37Speaker 2: have any issues of any of the movies that came out,
- 5:39Speaker 2: Obviously I had my opinions on them. I am anyte
- 5:41Speaker 2: of the shows that came out. I know people who
- 5:43Speaker 2: can't stand book a bubblet. I understand that I like
- 5:46Speaker 2: Book a bubbleffet. It's okay, and I'm not free to admit, acolyte.
- 5:52Speaker 2: It took me a minute.
- 5:54Speaker 3: It was a rough one.
- 5:56Speaker 2: I don't even know if you finished it.
- 5:58Speaker 3: I never watched it. I refuse to watch that show.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Well, and then, and here's the thing, and we'll get
- 6:03Speaker 2: right into it. Spoiler, Well, you know who shows up
- 6:06Speaker 2: at the end, right, spoilers. Okay, we've talked about this, Yes,
- 6:10Speaker 2: we talked about this. So they recently released a book.
- 6:14Speaker 2: I believe it's one of those like and this is
- 6:16Speaker 2: the thing. It's one of those things because of how
- 6:18Speaker 2: pop people to say Star Wars is dead, Star Wars
- 6:21Speaker 2: is but it's still so popular that one of a
- 6:23Speaker 2: simple book. I'm not gonna say simple book because books
- 6:25Speaker 2: these days are hard to actually like sell. Although I
- 6:28Speaker 2: do think things like comic books and stuff are coming back,
- 6:30Speaker 2: damn it. Adhcheprint.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Whenever an art.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Style Star Wars book comes out, it makes national headlines. Yeah,
- 6:39Speaker 2: and in this book for the Acolyte, it pretty much
- 6:41Speaker 2: confirmed they were going to do a and it's I
- 6:46Speaker 2: love Mandalorian, but I hate like how like the the
- 6:48Speaker 2: Disney plus things. It's just called the Mandovers, but they're
- 6:51Speaker 2: essentially going to do a Mandover's style with the High
- 6:53Speaker 2: Republic taking place around the Acolyte one hundred years before
- 6:56Speaker 2: the Seat are the prequels, and Plagus was going to
- 6:59Speaker 2: be the big battie, the throng, the fanals. That was
- 7:03Speaker 2: what's That's literally what they said. The plan was. I'm
- 7:07Speaker 2: not gonna lie to you. I'm indifferent because, for one,
- 7:12Speaker 2: I definitely want to see the story of Plague is
- 7:14Speaker 2: told on screen. Yes, I know there's books. No, I
- 7:17Speaker 2: haven't read the books. I actually have been reading the
- 7:20Speaker 2: Star Wars comics, which, my friend, you need to read those,
- 7:24Speaker 2: you see.
- 7:25Speaker 3: I've taken that.
- 7:27Speaker 5: I've taken a very laid back approach with the comics
- 7:31Speaker 5: because I stopped reading comics a while ago. It's simply
- 7:36Speaker 5: a matter of time thing, and I know I need
- 7:37Speaker 5: to get back into them, but there's so much other
- 7:40Speaker 5: content I'm consuming, whether it's digital media, whether it's virtual media,
- 7:46Speaker 5: you know, gaming, movies.
- 7:49Speaker 2: There's too much.
- 7:50Speaker 3: There's too much, and I feel like not saying that
- 7:55Speaker 3: reading comic books.
- 7:56Speaker 5: I mean to be honest, I'm sure it's more of
- 7:59Speaker 5: a bad thing than I'm that I'm consuming all this
- 8:01Speaker 5: meeting instead of slowing down and reading something. But I'm like,
- 8:04Speaker 5: there's so much good digital and virtual media out there
- 8:10Speaker 5: that I want to consume first before I feel like
- 8:14Speaker 5: to me cog boo, reading has come to at this point,
- 8:18Speaker 5: has has basically come down to, like when I retire,
- 8:22Speaker 5: I'm gonna read everything.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Kind of deal. That's fair, You're gonna read man.
- 8:28Speaker 5: Yeah, So it's it's very much like I want to
- 8:31Speaker 5: do this thing, but I have so many other things
- 8:33Speaker 5: that I'm prioritizing first before I do that.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Well damn IDIOHD stuff like really quick before I want to.
- 8:38Speaker 2: I do want to get back in the accolite stuff
- 8:40Speaker 2: I I I started. I can't remember what was the
- 8:44Speaker 2: first comic I like read for the like I usually
- 8:46Speaker 2: excite my mind. Used to give me Spider Man comics
- 8:48Speaker 2: when I was a kid, but it was only the issues,
- 8:51Speaker 2: you know, like like the what thirty pages of that?
- 8:54Speaker 2: But no, man, I want the book. I want the
- 8:56Speaker 2: whole set, I want the series. I don't want this
- 8:58Speaker 2: like I want the whole Ephic novel. And since I
- 9:02Speaker 2: started getting them, I'm not saying them by I'm not
- 9:04Speaker 2: saying like I have like all these comic books now.
- 9:05Speaker 2: I think I literally have maybe like ten fifteen. But
- 9:10Speaker 2: I think it's that funkal pop bug again, because when
- 9:13Speaker 2: I go to a bookstore now, yeah, when I go
- 9:15Speaker 2: to a bookstore now and I find one, let me
- 9:19Speaker 2: say this a very popular uh comic book tre you
- 9:23Speaker 2: have heard of? It's called Batman. You're one? Yes, Guess
- 9:27Speaker 2: what did brand new copy costs on Amazon hardcover? Hundred bucks?
- 9:32Speaker 3: I was want to say a hundred bucks.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Guess what I found it for wrapped brand new at
- 9:38Speaker 2: this used used bookstore I go to.
- 9:42Speaker 6: They had that bitch on sale for eight dollars and
- 9:45Speaker 6: that shit was mint And I have I always make
- 9:51Speaker 6: the claim it's it's mostly true of Simpsons.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Sorry ahead, I have roughly half of all Prayer comics
- 9:59Speaker 3: ever made.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Yeah, and they're all just.
- 10:01Speaker 5: Sitting in a box and I read about eighty percent
- 10:04Speaker 5: of them of my collection. Again, they're still they're still
- 10:07Speaker 5: publishing new stories, but there's a bunch that I just
- 10:10Speaker 5: don't have. And but anyways, my collection, like I said,
- 10:14Speaker 5: out of all the ones I have, I've read maybe
- 10:17Speaker 5: eighty percent, but they're still twenty.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Percent that I haven't read.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'll and I just stopped.
- 10:22Speaker 5: Whenever I go to comic cons now where they're still
- 10:25Speaker 5: selling comic books and it's not just one giant, Yeah,
- 10:29Speaker 5: I know where it shocking shocking, uh where now wherever
- 10:36Speaker 5: they're still selling comic books, Like I've just stopped, I think,
- 10:38Speaker 5: and everything everyone else's stopped because we're so focused now
- 10:41Speaker 5: on like the just watching the movies and watching the show, yeah,
- 10:46Speaker 5: the digital media instead of reading, you know, going back
- 10:49Speaker 5: to basics.
- 10:49Speaker 3: I'm reading the novels well, and I.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Just think, and I think the reason I'm saying comic
- 10:55Speaker 2: books are coming back is like I think it's I
- 10:59Speaker 2: think the reason is because I think there's so much
- 11:01Speaker 2: media right now. People are just tired of it. Yeah,
- 11:04Speaker 2: and they want to be like, hey, I want to
- 11:06Speaker 2: focus on one thing that I enjoy that has a
- 11:09Speaker 2: continuous platform of something being of something coming out, which
- 11:14Speaker 2: is comic books. I mean, like I said, like I
- 11:17Speaker 2: just started. I first started, I started the small no.
- 11:20Speaker 2: I started like just reading because like, Batman's my favorite superhero.
- 11:23Speaker 2: I read, I got the first one I bought. When
- 11:25Speaker 2: I centrally started, it was an absolute Batman because if
- 11:27Speaker 2: anyone' that's literally the popular one right now. That's all that's,
- 11:31Speaker 2: that's all I want to talk about, because it's just
- 11:33Speaker 2: it's a new universe where all the superheroes are different backgrounds,
- 11:36Speaker 2: but they're all fucking like eight feet tall and on
- 11:39Speaker 2: fucking steroids and look like nineteen seventy seven professional wrestlers.
- 11:42Speaker 2: It's insane and it's it's really and it's a good story.
- 11:46Speaker 2: But then like I started going back to the acolyte
- 11:48Speaker 2: thing here in a second, damn it, and I started
- 11:51Speaker 2: reading the Star Wars ones, And this why I'm excited filone.
- 11:54Speaker 2: He's taking note or is becoming creative off, well, he's
- 11:56Speaker 2: creative out. He's been creative officer for a while, but
- 11:57Speaker 2: now he's fully in charge. Is and this is where
- 12:02Speaker 2: there's that disconnect between the shows. And I think it's
- 12:04Speaker 2: where that disconnect and a lot of select goes to
- 12:07Speaker 2: Kathleen mm hmm. Everyone remembers the there's not many scenes
- 12:12Speaker 2: of Book of Bubba Fett people will talk about. Obviously,
- 12:15Speaker 2: there's a cab Bane, there's black Do I forget his name?
- 12:18Speaker 2: Every time the giant Wookie Croissante.
- 12:21Speaker 5: You talk from the books, Yeah, I really wanted to
- 12:24Speaker 5: like him, and yes, but like yeah, but then they like,
- 12:31Speaker 5: and then they I don't know, no, no.
- 12:33Speaker 2: But the point I'm trying to make is there's all
- 12:34Speaker 2: there's all these scenes like in Book of Bubba Fett,
- 12:37Speaker 2: some that I remember and really enjoy, but a lot
- 12:40Speaker 2: of people don't talk about him. But everyone members Bubba
- 12:43Speaker 2: Fett and season two and Mandalorian where he made Mandal
- 12:46Speaker 2: essentially look like a bitch and John wicked everybody, to
- 12:49Speaker 2: which I was saying, where is this book of Bubba Fett?
- 12:52Speaker 2: Or where's this book? Where's this bookfet? Where is this
- 12:54Speaker 2: Bubba Fett? And that's what saying. All I want is consistent,
- 12:58Speaker 2: like right, and like when I read the comic books,
- 13:00Speaker 2: I'm only on like I'm only on my third. I
- 13:01Speaker 2: forgot what the so the first one was, uh, it's
- 13:04Speaker 2: called it's a it's a comic book. Only character's I forget.
- 13:08Speaker 2: I forget her name, Doctor Alpha like a lot of
- 13:10Speaker 2: from I read a lot of people like her, but
- 13:14Speaker 2: I found this Bounty Hunter one which is apparently really popular.
- 13:18Speaker 2: It's got bubble fed and it talked about his stories.
- 13:21Speaker 2: But thankfully, as most comic books are not doing because
- 13:23Speaker 2: I know people don't like sometimes check it tells you, hey,
- 13:28Speaker 2: you need to read this before you read this, and
- 13:30Speaker 2: thankfully said, hey, you need to read Darth Vader before
- 13:32Speaker 2: you read this. And I only gotten through the first
- 13:34Speaker 2: two well, I got the first volume, if you call it.
- 13:36Speaker 2: I really went through the first two issues, and literally
- 13:39Speaker 2: it just shows you, like how much respect Vader had
- 13:41Speaker 2: for fet and vice versa. But FVET even knew, like, fuck,
- 13:44Speaker 2: this guy can fuck me up, Like that's why everyone
- 13:47Speaker 2: loved Vader. Yeah, because Vader really doesn't do a lot
- 13:50Speaker 2: of the movies, but he's so menacing it's like, don't
- 13:53Speaker 2: funk with this dude. With the point trying to make
- 13:56Speaker 2: is what the accolade is with Plaguas, like you could
- 13:59Speaker 2: go down that, you could, you could do that. The
- 14:02Speaker 2: problem is is just there's no consistency amongst the shows.
- 14:06Speaker 2: That's my in terms of like I'm not gonna say
- 14:09Speaker 2: like story because obviously it's just Star Wars, but in
- 14:11Speaker 2: terms of like pacing and not that everything needs to
- 14:14Speaker 2: be the same. But like Marvel, majority of Marvel stuff
- 14:18Speaker 2: is all the same. Obviously, if you know the directors
- 14:20Speaker 2: and the actors, you could see where they put their
- 14:22Speaker 2: little touches. But essentially, what is it. It's a Kevin
- 14:25Speaker 2: Feigy production. That's what's Star Wars. I'm not saying stories
- 14:28Speaker 2: they become Marvel because obviously right now, as used that
- 14:31Speaker 2: an ilute to last week, we really haven't been in
- 14:32Speaker 2: touch with the MCU in the last couple of years.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Most people have not. But they need to just make
- 14:39Speaker 2: it consistent where it's It's essentially if I watch a
- 14:41Speaker 2: TV show, okay for example, okay click any click. If
- 14:45Speaker 2: I watch let's say this is the first time I'm
- 14:47Speaker 2: watching Obi Wan, and I watch that epic battle at
- 14:51Speaker 2: the end of this of the show where he fights
- 14:53Speaker 2: Vader spoiler shockering. I know he fought Obi Wan fights Vader,
- 14:56Speaker 2: shocking shucker that battle that happened there. The next time
- 15:03Speaker 2: I see a Jedi two Jedis, go at it. They
- 15:05Speaker 2: are that powerful. That fight needs to be like on
- 15:08Speaker 2: that par not say it needs to be as good,
- 15:10Speaker 2: but it's like, okay, when if what we want throwing
- 15:12Speaker 2: fucking like a mountain sized rocks at this dude. It
- 15:16Speaker 2: needs to be like, Okay, these two are too fucking strong,
- 15:18Speaker 2: they're equally equal. Match is kind of going a little
- 15:21Speaker 2: out there, but like it needs to be that even keel.
- 15:24Speaker 2: And then when you watch Acolyte, it was just like
- 15:26Speaker 2: something like I thought that the choreography, the fight scenes
- 15:28Speaker 2: were fantastic, but then there's someone just like, how is
- 15:32Speaker 2: not how was I forget? And again I forget the
- 15:34Speaker 2: bad guy's name. How is he not just fucking he
- 15:37Speaker 2: was wrecking dudes? He was, but I'm like, how is
- 15:40Speaker 2: he not just like killing them instantly? And I think
- 15:42Speaker 2: at some points that way maybe he's just toying with
- 15:44Speaker 2: them and shit like that. But then it just shows
- 15:47Speaker 2: you again I'm my problem with like the original prequel
- 15:49Speaker 2: stuff in the High Republic. It just makes them look
- 15:51Speaker 2: so Stupid's like they're like so like there's no sith
- 15:53Speaker 2: the Seven did from Millennium, Like, okay, can fist of
- 15:56Speaker 2: how the fuck did that work out for you?
- 15:58Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 16:00Speaker 2: It to to me.
- 16:03Speaker 3: I don't know, I feel like the new stuff, I mean,
- 16:08Speaker 3: and this has been a problem forever.
- 16:09Speaker 5: Right, when you have a franchise that's so old and
- 16:12Speaker 5: you try and make new content and you have to
- 16:14Speaker 5: follow the Holy Bible that is the lore, it's so
- 16:16Speaker 5: hard to introduce new characters and make them look cool
- 16:20Speaker 5: without making the old stuff look weak or like either super.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Weak or super powered. Does that make sense?
- 16:27Speaker 2: Yes?
- 16:27Speaker 5: And typically and typically it ends up that the old
- 16:30Speaker 5: stuff looks dumb and dumb and weak. So it's it's
- 16:34Speaker 5: really hard to like, oh, let's introduce this new stuff
- 16:37Speaker 5: but make it seem cool. But how do we do
- 16:39Speaker 5: it in a way that doesn't contradict everything that we've
- 16:43Speaker 5: already And.
- 16:44Speaker 2: The problem is, and the problem is is like Marvel's
- 16:46Speaker 2: willing to take those risks, and a lot of times
- 16:48Speaker 2: it's playing, it's played out, it's working.
- 16:50Speaker 3: I mean, look what they did with the Loki Show.
- 16:52Speaker 2: They were like, that was the dumbest idea and that's
- 16:57Speaker 2: probably the best. That's one of the best things they
- 16:59Speaker 2: ever made.
- 17:00Speaker 5: And I and I was sad, but like you had
- 17:03Speaker 5: to think, like, yes, there's always gonna be something more
- 17:05Speaker 5: powerful than the thing, the thing.
- 17:07Speaker 3: That came last. Yes, with Infinity Stone, did they like
- 17:10Speaker 3: basically did they basically.
- 17:15Speaker 5: Say that like the whole arc of the Infinity War
- 17:18Speaker 5: was pointless because you can go to the TVA and
- 17:21Speaker 5: find those rocks.
- 17:22Speaker 3: Yes, but like there's a lot of other stories that
- 17:26Speaker 3: do that ship to their thing.
- 17:27Speaker 2: But like a good point, but like.
- 17:31Speaker 5: There's there's always you have to understand, there's always a
- 17:35Speaker 5: bigger fish. And I think that's what people forget, and
- 17:38Speaker 5: like we're so attached to these stories. We're so attached
- 17:42Speaker 5: to these stories to the point where like if anything
- 17:45Speaker 5: contradicts or anything belittles.
- 17:47Speaker 3: What we know and love we get, we go on
- 17:49Speaker 3: the defensive immediately, We immediately go, now, how could you
- 17:53Speaker 3: do that to my beloved character.
- 17:54Speaker 5: It's like Bro's he's just a guy, and this giant
- 17:58Speaker 5: universe and this giant gallon see let alone universe of
- 18:02Speaker 5: a story. And I think, and I feel like people
- 18:05Speaker 5: aren't willing to detach from that, from that feeling of
- 18:09Speaker 5: like yeah, and I'm that feeling of like they're mine,
- 18:12Speaker 5: they're there, I am this, I am this character, and
- 18:15Speaker 5: it's like, yes, you can identify this character, but like
- 18:19Speaker 5: just like this character like they're human or whatever.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Like every character has faults, every character has.
- 18:25Speaker 5: Weaknesses, Like they're not like, yes, as much as we
- 18:29Speaker 5: want to think Anakin and Luke as like the chosen one, yes,
- 18:32Speaker 5: they're the chosen one of this story. But that doesn't
- 18:35Speaker 5: mean that there's other stories that can outpace them, or
- 18:39Speaker 5: outpower them, or outpower scale them.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Does that make sense?
- 18:42Speaker 2: Yes? And I think and that's the problem I think
- 18:44Speaker 2: with Star Wars. And I'm not saying just the fans
- 18:47Speaker 2: and jonasane els just a story is shit. We don't
- 18:52Speaker 2: know this is gonna work, break glass and bring out
- 18:53Speaker 2: one of the original characters. Yeah, it's okay, this is
- 18:57Speaker 2: there is literally a reason the first thing you see
- 19:00Speaker 2: whenever Star Wars comes up is in a galaxy far
- 19:03Speaker 2: far away. I don't know if you know this. Galaxies
- 19:07Speaker 2: are pretty fucking huge. I mean, do we need to
- 19:11Speaker 2: mention how fucking complicated insane it was for them to
- 19:14Speaker 2: get to throw on an Ezra and Ahsoka. You know,
- 19:16Speaker 2: we gott we get the fucking whales here, We gotta
- 19:18Speaker 2: do this. It's just it's it's it's and that's the
- 19:21Speaker 2: thing I think Star Wars is. And rightfully so, I
- 19:25Speaker 2: want to I want to make this clear. Not rightfully so,
- 19:28Speaker 2: but sometimes in some instances it's okay to have hesitation.
- 19:32Speaker 2: They're too afraid to expand, to go into the deeper universe,
- 19:36Speaker 2: to go beyond, essentially because it's you don't okay if
- 19:41Speaker 2: it doesn't work. If it doesn't work, we're fucked. We're
- 19:43Speaker 2: gonna spend this money. But here's the thing. It's like,
- 19:45Speaker 2: unfortunately some of the things you have made within the
- 19:48Speaker 2: existing stuff, critically and mostly people are saying it hasn't worked.
- 19:55Speaker 2: So it's like, what what do you have to lose? See,
- 19:58Speaker 2: that's what's saying. That's why it if like we talked
- 20:00Speaker 2: about last week, was Starfighter. Originally it was, well, there
- 20:03Speaker 2: might be some sequel characters or legacy characters in here. Oh,
- 20:06Speaker 2: there might be lightsabers. You know, it's a Starfighter movie.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Make that makes sense. But then now they're saying, Nope,
- 20:11Speaker 2: no legacy or anything like that.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Okay, great, Like who I want that?
- 20:16Speaker 3: I believe? Yes?
- 20:17Speaker 2: Like dead? Sorry, like dead. I was happy. The only
- 20:25Speaker 2: MCU thing that was brought into that movie was the TVA.
- 20:30Speaker 2: That's it. Otherwise it was a Fox. It was a
- 20:33Speaker 2: Fox reunion party, that's all it was. And it worked.
- 20:39Speaker 2: You don't need and like it worked and I'm not
- 20:43Speaker 2: could be and be honest. It worked in the day
- 20:45Speaker 2: and age where a lot of people have not actually
- 20:48Speaker 2: watched the Fox movies because some people ship and I'm
- 20:51Speaker 2: not gonna say rightfully so all due respect rightfully so
- 20:54Speaker 2: that some people, like some kids and like like teenagers
- 20:57Speaker 2: were like, yeah, I don't know, my dad said this
- 20:59Speaker 2: movie sucked. I kid, so we didn't watch it. But like,
- 21:01Speaker 2: because because again, here's the thing for you and I
- 21:04Speaker 2: it's hilarious and crazy for people to react to spoiler alert,
- 21:08Speaker 2: Chris Evans obviously doing a Captain of America impersonation, but
- 21:11Speaker 2: he's just human torch and then people are like, wait,
- 21:14Speaker 2: why is he on fire? It's like, well, here's you
- 21:17Speaker 2: got to.
- 21:18Speaker 4: Do actually before Captain America according to my calculations. But
- 21:27Speaker 4: what I'm trying to make is you can take those
- 21:29Speaker 4: risks and it can work.
- 21:30Speaker 2: It can pan out. And that's why I'm excited because Okay,
- 21:36Speaker 2: and here's the thing, this is this is one they
- 21:37Speaker 2: want to talk about, like moving forward, where are they
- 21:40Speaker 2: going because like I said, like with that light being
- 21:43Speaker 2: canceled and they're not and again, are they gonna do
- 21:45Speaker 2: anything more higher Republic? I don't know. I do think
- 21:49Speaker 2: there is a story to tell a plagist, because that's
- 21:51Speaker 2: the thing, doesn't everyone. I mean, it's a fucking literally
- 21:54Speaker 2: like dark plagis the whis is a global meme. You
- 22:00Speaker 2: just see the it's always three photos. It's it's Palpatine
- 22:04Speaker 2: looking at the show, then Palpatine looking at Anakin, and
- 22:07Speaker 2: then Anakin looking at him saying is a possible in
- 22:08Speaker 2: his power? And there's no work context, and obviously people
- 22:11Speaker 2: put their own fucking work context there. But everyone knows
- 22:13Speaker 2: that fucking sentence. Every fucking person knows it. You know,
- 22:16Speaker 2: if I just said we just go have you the
- 22:18Speaker 2: hood right away, people go, like, everyone fucking knows that.
- 22:23Speaker 5: There is It's it's it's literally like I think one
- 22:27Speaker 5: of the most quoted. I mean, I mean, obviously there's
- 22:30Speaker 5: more code lines, but.
- 22:31Speaker 2: Like it's in the top ten for Star Wars top ten, like.
- 22:36Speaker 5: No kind of speeches kind of like mini speeches like dialogues.
- 22:40Speaker 5: It's the most ten tough Budday like pieces of dialogues quoted.
- 22:44Speaker 5: Like if you are a Star Wars fan, like you
- 22:46Speaker 5: even have to be a deep Star Wars fan, like
- 22:48Speaker 5: if you enjoy the series and follow the series, you
- 22:52Speaker 5: know the speech of dark playing.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Is the ways Like it's just my lovely wife who's
- 22:57Speaker 2: learning loud of the lore. Since we started dating, she's
- 23:00Speaker 2: known Nat and she didn't watch all the movies and
- 23:05Speaker 2: she's known. That's praise because she hates Palpatin. I'm like,
- 23:07Speaker 2: who doesn't. But then it's like, now that they're moving forward,
- 23:13Speaker 2: it's like, Okay, that's why I'm excited because it's like,
- 23:15Speaker 2: now there's gonna be That's why I'm hoping with Filoni
- 23:17Speaker 2: m m is. I'm not I'm not saying I wanted
- 23:22Speaker 2: to take a step back. I'm just saying you need
- 23:25Speaker 2: to have you need to take risk. Every it's like this,
- 23:30Speaker 2: everyone is saying you can't do live action for ship.
- 23:33Speaker 2: That's what the that's what the general consens is.
- 23:37Speaker 3: He's gonna no.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think that's the truth because it's like
- 23:41Speaker 2: you watch the like, okay, you watched that first thing
- 23:43Speaker 2: he did. It was the Ahsoka episode of Mandalorian. I
- 23:46Speaker 2: thought it was very good, like with like the shots
- 23:49Speaker 2: and like the obviously it's not just felony doing it,
- 23:51Speaker 2: but like with the smoking, like it was very good.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Oh sooka like yeah, headed Sipper, he didn't drink all
- 23:55Speaker 2: that ship. The point I'm trying to make is like
- 23:57Speaker 2: you you start sorry from the bottom. Now you're here.
- 24:00Speaker 2: You you as you continue, as you continue a new
- 24:04Speaker 2: uh not trend, a new skill. The more you do it,
- 24:08Speaker 2: the better you get. Like podcasting I to do like
- 24:12Speaker 2: I still do that, but not as much as I
- 24:13Speaker 2: used to. Same with audio, Same with you and anything
- 24:16Speaker 2: that you try like or not not sorry not not try?
- 24:20Speaker 2: Do you do or do not? How dare me? How
- 24:22Speaker 2: dare I say? That? Point T make is like you
- 24:25Speaker 2: just gotta let him he needs you. Gotta let him fail, Yetta,
- 24:29Speaker 2: let him try to yea, let him go out there
- 24:30Speaker 2: and he had their succeeds or fails. The point I
- 24:33Speaker 2: make is like, just I just want them to do it.
- 24:36Speaker 2: I am in the mindset whork with like again because
- 24:39Speaker 2: and there's I want to get to the other thing,
- 24:40Speaker 2: which I know you're not gonna know about here a second.
- 24:42Speaker 2: With the Disney announcement, it just seems like that's why
- 24:46Speaker 2: I'm excited. It's like he's not just running Lucasfilm by himself.
- 24:48Speaker 2: He's just essentially it seems like everyone's it seems like
- 24:50Speaker 2: everyone's just saying it's called the DC model, which I
- 24:52Speaker 2: honestly don't know anyone who's doing it beforehand. If they was,
- 24:55Speaker 2: I apologize. I know. I know Warner Brothers was kind
- 24:58Speaker 2: of doing something like that, but it wasn't like concrete
- 25:00Speaker 2: like everyone's in the DC where it's like James Gunn
- 25:02Speaker 2: runs Creative as the co head of studio, and then
- 25:06Speaker 2: Peter Saffern I think is his name. He does all
- 25:08Speaker 2: the business shit. That's what Lucasfilm does. That's what they're doing.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Now just let them do that and here's the here's
- 25:13Speaker 2: the thing.
- 25:13Speaker 3: So let them do their thing.
- 25:14Speaker 4: Like we're not gonna know any of this ship for
- 25:17Speaker 4: at least two years.
- 25:19Speaker 5: This is I've told this is something that I can
- 25:25Speaker 5: really relate to with my well okay, now, how'm gonna
- 25:29Speaker 5: say this? This is something that I've had. I told
- 25:31Speaker 5: my dad a few years ago as I was getting older,
- 25:34Speaker 5: up into like my mid twenties, he was still trying
- 25:37Speaker 5: to very much like trying to teach me lessons without
- 25:43Speaker 5: like having them having me learn them from myself. And
- 25:47Speaker 5: it was something and like I understand, as as a father,
- 25:51Speaker 5: you want you want to try and save your kid's pain,
- 25:55Speaker 5: you know, pain, like as much pain as they can, right,
- 25:59Speaker 5: Like you, you don't want it to go You don't
- 26:01Speaker 5: want them to go through the same pain that you
- 26:02Speaker 5: went through to try, you know, even if it's good
- 26:06Speaker 5: for them, and something I told my dad, it's like, listen,
- 26:10Speaker 5: sometimes there are just some lessons, no matter how painful
- 26:15Speaker 5: they are, the best way for some people to learn
- 26:20Speaker 5: them is to is to go through it and experience
- 26:24Speaker 5: the pain.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Because the.
- 26:27Speaker 5: The best way to learn the lesson is not the
- 26:29Speaker 5: best way, but sometimes the best way is to fail
- 26:33Speaker 5: is to go through the pain. Is to experience experience
- 26:36Speaker 5: that pain because it sticks with you.
- 26:38Speaker 3: It sticks with you.
- 26:39Speaker 5: Once you feel that pain, it will stick with you,
- 26:41Speaker 5: and then you will you will fucking learn your lesson
- 26:44Speaker 5: and you will repeat and you.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Will know not to do it again.
- 26:47Speaker 2: You're gonna work twice as hard to make sure it
- 26:49Speaker 2: doesn't happen.
- 26:50Speaker 3: Boy, exactly exactly.
- 26:52Speaker 4: I'd rather read Chicken sell the chicken shit.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Right.
- 26:55Speaker 5: So it's like, like, as much as we want to
- 26:57Speaker 5: avoid said pain of of Dave Filoni maybe not being
- 27:03Speaker 5: a great director, we have to at least let him
- 27:05Speaker 5: try try because maybe he might fail, and maybe he'll
- 27:10Speaker 5: learn and make better shows, right, or maybe he'll just
- 27:13Speaker 5: be good, but we don't know until we let him try.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Here here's the one thing. Okay, there's obviously a lot
- 27:21Speaker 2: of like I said, when the whole Kathleens came out,
- 27:23Speaker 2: there all these videos of like you know, the classic
- 27:25Speaker 2: one of like her talk with George, like we're gonna
- 27:27Speaker 2: on the legacy in the stories. And there's that quick
- 27:29Speaker 2: clip where there's no books or kind of likes, which
- 27:30Speaker 2: is not true. But also that foot is take a
- 27:32Speaker 2: little bit out of context. I make that not fully.
- 27:34Speaker 2: I'm not gonna say the entire foot just take out
- 27:37Speaker 2: of context. It's sort of taken out of context when
- 27:39Speaker 2: you actually watch the whole clip, although at the end
- 27:41Speaker 2: you're gonna go, uh no. But here's the thing. There,
- 27:48Speaker 2: there are a giant consensus at Star Wars. It's here's
- 27:51Speaker 2: the thing star Wars at I'm not gonna say star Wars.
- 27:54Speaker 2: I mean through the Star Wars, star Wars are star Wars.
- 27:56Speaker 2: We know the basics. There's Jedis, there's a bad stiff.
- 28:00Speaker 2: There's always there's always a someone trying to take over
- 28:02Speaker 2: the fucking Republican government to rule it. It's either good
- 28:04Speaker 2: or bad. Yay. And there's all these plants, all these
- 28:06Speaker 2: different creatures that can kill you or we'll want to
- 28:08Speaker 2: have a drink with you. Whatever. Cool, that's it.
- 28:12Speaker 3: There's which you want to suck out your power.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Allegedly, they literally took They literally gave the guy that
- 28:21Speaker 2: essentially for the last well not gonna say the last
- 28:23Speaker 2: twenty years, but for at least ten what ten to
- 28:26Speaker 2: fifteen years, almost was George Lucas's right hand man, literally
- 28:32Speaker 2: his padawan. Literally, we're going we're going from Palpatine to Vader.
- 28:36Speaker 2: We just had someone in between them. First, We're going
- 28:40Speaker 2: from uh Kui Gon to Kenobe. We just had someone
- 28:43Speaker 2: to be again. You just got to give it time.
- 28:47Speaker 2: And then what I was gonna allude to with a
- 28:49Speaker 2: two person that's what I'm excited for. So Disney yesterday
- 28:51Speaker 2: announced essentially Bob Iger's leaving Disney. This has been known
- 28:56Speaker 2: for years. He left in twenty twenty, He left in
- 28:59Speaker 2: twenty twenty, came back in twenty twenty two twenty three
- 29:02Speaker 2: when Bob shapek was essentially unanimously removed from office because
- 29:09Speaker 2: they were not happy with what he was doing, and
- 29:12Speaker 2: I heer's been essentially as some people By the way,
- 29:14Speaker 2: if you lead it out of the articles Iger's been
- 29:16Speaker 2: doing the last couple of weeks, it's like, wow, tell
- 29:20Speaker 2: me you did not like the decision you made, because
- 29:22Speaker 2: he's the one who picked the original replacement. What they're doing,
- 29:25Speaker 2: they're doing exactly what what Luca I mean, Lucas is
- 29:28Speaker 2: obviously on our Disney. They're doing Lucas doing. They're doing this,
- 29:31Speaker 2: the DC is doing. They have two people CenTra writing
- 29:33Speaker 2: the ship, the guy who did their Parks and Experience
- 29:36Speaker 2: will be CEO. And then they literally created eight This
- 29:38Speaker 2: is what's funny. You think like they create, like they
- 29:40Speaker 2: don't have that as a job already. No, they literally
- 29:42Speaker 2: create a job called President and Chief Creative Officer. Her
- 29:46Speaker 2: name is Dana Walden. I'm gonnaell you right now because
- 29:50Speaker 2: I get do the.
- 29:51Speaker 4: Whole like, well, how do they what's their Disney history.
- 29:54Speaker 2: It's a good move, it's a good vie. Yeah, you're
- 29:59Speaker 2: going to that. You're gonna let them create. And here's
- 30:02Speaker 2: the thing, No, disrespected. I don't know. I don't know
- 30:04Speaker 2: Josh's history with Like Entertainment, but it's like you shouldn't
- 30:08Speaker 2: let a guy who primarily has been involved with like
- 30:11Speaker 2: the entertainment experiences of like parks, cruises and just other
- 30:15Speaker 2: stuff be involved with, like movies and stuff like that
- 30:18Speaker 2: that it can't be. But it's like, yeah, take a
- 30:22Speaker 2: person like Dana Walden who's been multiple productions that have
- 30:26Speaker 2: won oscars, TV shows, like, oh yeah, let her do that.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Let her run the let her run the media, and
- 30:32Speaker 2: he'll run everything else.
- 30:33Speaker 5: Let the producers produce, let the creams create, let the
- 30:36Speaker 5: executives execute.
- 30:38Speaker 2: It like and and here's and here's the basic. Sorry,
- 30:43Speaker 2: just get in my head. This is the biggest thing
- 30:45Speaker 2: of all.
- 30:47Speaker 4: And I don't talk politics on the show. I'm gonna
- 30:49Speaker 4: say this right now.
- 30:50Speaker 2: Have we learned nothing I'm gonna say about this current
- 30:52Speaker 2: Have we learned nothing the last twenty five fucking years
- 30:56Speaker 2: that not one person can run this fucking ship.
- 30:58Speaker 4: Yeah, you need need more than one person.
- 31:01Speaker 3: Everyone wants to be especially with that one Exactly, It's
- 31:05Speaker 3: just not everyone.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Everyone just wants to whip it out. I'm sorry, it's
- 31:09Speaker 2: not as big as you think. The point I'm trying
- 31:12Speaker 2: to make is this is smart as well, because again,
- 31:15Speaker 2: all these companies, Warner Brothers with d C, help Warner
- 31:18Speaker 2: Brothers themselves, universal Lucasfilm Disney. You need to have multiple
- 31:23Speaker 2: people run the ship, and that's okay because it can work.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Perfect example, Okay, do you want to why five years
- 31:30Speaker 2: ago Warner Brothers was considered a laughing sock of entertainment
- 31:33Speaker 2: and now they're about to sell the Netflix for what
- 31:36Speaker 2: it's like, what almost one hundred billion dollars? Because yeah,
- 31:39Speaker 2: people can make people. I mean, Jesus Christ, I covered
- 31:42Speaker 2: it on the show. I literally said, the fucking Discovery
- 31:44Speaker 2: Channel bought Warner Brothers. But it's like, oh wait, no,
- 31:47Speaker 2: Warner Brothers is not doing good, So it kind of
- 31:48Speaker 2: makes sense why they got not saying for cheap, but
- 31:50Speaker 2: why they got them for what they got them for?
- 31:52Speaker 2: What did they do? They got no, but what did
- 31:55Speaker 2: they do? They implemented two of their like most tenured
- 31:59Speaker 2: I'm not gonnay producers, like people involved with production and
- 32:02Speaker 2: like creative they had. They said, hey, we want you
- 32:05Speaker 2: two to stay, and we want you two to essentially
- 32:08Speaker 2: run the film division to make sure good ship comes out.
- 32:11Speaker 2: And guess what happened Warner Brothers last year they had
- 32:13Speaker 2: one of their best years ever. And here's the thing.
- 32:15Speaker 2: There's a lot of movies I can name, and people
- 32:17Speaker 2: will go, wait, that was Warner Brothers. Yeah, that was
- 32:20Speaker 2: Warner Brothers.
- 32:21Speaker 1: I guess what.
- 32:21Speaker 4: They made a lot of fucking.
- 32:23Speaker 3: Money, ah, fucking money.
- 32:26Speaker 2: But again, if they can do it with franchises that
- 32:30Speaker 2: people like Conjuring and like obviously everyone knows Conjuring, but
- 32:32Speaker 2: if they do it like other movies that people really
- 32:34Speaker 2: don't know, you're telling me we can't do that with DC,
- 32:38Speaker 2: which they're they kind of already have done. We can't.
- 32:41Speaker 2: I mean again, they just started. We can't do it
- 32:43Speaker 2: with Star Wars. It's like, you can do it, you
- 32:46Speaker 2: just again and again. Here's the thing. As much as
- 32:51Speaker 2: much as you and I are Star Wars fans and
- 32:53Speaker 2: Star Wars fans on again, we're crazy. And shit, why
- 32:57Speaker 2: is it that, Like there's literally the phrase patience is
- 33:01Speaker 2: the way of the Jedi, and none of us fucking
- 33:03Speaker 2: follow that because it's because we've been.
- 33:06Speaker 3: Let Yeah, it's because it's that's from a galaxy far far.
- 33:11Speaker 2: Away, and we can't even begin to match, not in
- 33:14Speaker 2: this galaxy. No, we weren't patient twenty years ago. And like,
- 33:18Speaker 2: going back to what you allude to about the comic
- 33:19Speaker 2: books and streaming and media, Shit, we got. I mean,
- 33:22Speaker 2: here's the problem, Like it's going to Vengers Doomsday pretty
- 33:25Speaker 2: much seems like by by fucking the end of next month,
- 33:28Speaker 2: the whole movie is gonna be spoiled at this point.
- 33:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm really sad how how much they've spoiled it.
- 33:34Speaker 2: I think I think could all a lot of the bullshit. Yes,
- 33:38Speaker 2: but it's like with the track record of some of
- 33:40Speaker 2: these Splorers have been the last couple of years, it's
- 33:43Speaker 2: like I mean to say it. I like to say
- 33:45Speaker 2: I enjoyed No Way Home as if I didn't know
- 33:47Speaker 2: anything like everyone. I mean, I knew that Guardfield and Maguire,
- 33:50Speaker 2: and here's saying I saw that. I saw the leagues
- 33:52Speaker 2: two years prior. But again, it didn't take a rocket
- 33:55Speaker 2: science to go Jesus.
- 33:56Speaker 4: Hmm, all the bad guys.
- 33:58Speaker 2: From the other Spider Man movies not to gonna be
- 34:00Speaker 2: in I wonder if Maguire and Garfield will be in it.
- 34:04Speaker 4: Hmm, No they won't.
- 34:05Speaker 2: That would be fuck gain stupid one point nine billion
- 34:08Speaker 2: dollars later. But what I'm trying to make is like
- 34:12Speaker 2: we gotta be patient, And what I wanted to get
- 34:15Speaker 2: to is to be positive and a little you know,
- 34:19Speaker 2: looking looking forward to the future.
- 34:23Speaker 4: I want to talk about something again.
- 34:24Speaker 2: We lose some of the good things that we personally
- 34:26Speaker 2: think they did, like and or Solo. We obviously have
- 34:31Speaker 2: different we have difference of opinions on the sequels, but
- 34:36Speaker 2: over all, I think I can speak for well, let's
- 34:39Speaker 2: just say that we like them. They obviously have their flaws.
- 34:45Speaker 2: They fly now, they obviously have their flaws.
- 34:48Speaker 3: I yeah, I think I think again we we we've
- 34:53Speaker 3: beat this to death.
- 34:54Speaker 5: Kathleen, God bless her was really trying to pump out
- 34:58Speaker 5: these movies. I think their biggest failing. I think I
- 35:02Speaker 5: think if they had even at the very least like
- 35:07Speaker 5: I don't care if they had different directors, I don't care.
- 35:11Speaker 5: I just wanted a concise story and we didn't get that.
- 35:15Speaker 3: That's the problem.
- 35:15Speaker 4: They never, they never.
- 35:17Speaker 2: That's again, it's one of those photos. Then I think,
- 35:20Speaker 2: in like thirty years from now, and I hate to
- 35:22Speaker 2: see people are gonna go because I enjoyed it. I
- 35:24Speaker 2: think you said it last week, you don't think the
- 35:26Speaker 2: sequels are gonna be held as in high regard.
- 35:29Speaker 3: As to the prequels.
- 35:31Speaker 2: I disagreed with you last week, however, because of the
- 35:34Speaker 2: way we live in today. I think you're I think
- 35:37Speaker 2: they're I'm gonna enjoy them in thirty years, but I think.
- 35:41Speaker 5: I'll joy the Force awakens and I'll bashfully and I'll bashfully.
- 35:46Speaker 3: Am I guilty?
- 35:46Speaker 2: You're right, I don't guilty, but they won't be, but
- 35:49Speaker 2: it will be.
- 35:50Speaker 4: Like the sequels aren't bad.
- 35:52Speaker 2: But they're not the prequels.
- 35:53Speaker 3: They're not the prequels.
- 35:54Speaker 5: But like even like the Boomer Sowers fans are like,
- 35:58Speaker 5: god damn, the Prequels look like a fuck cinematic masterpiece
- 36:01Speaker 5: compared to the fucking sequels.
- 36:03Speaker 2: It's funny how much I now hear like people away
- 36:06Speaker 2: than you and I going, oh, yeah, like all those
- 36:08Speaker 2: movies were good, and I'm like, you're the reason. You're
- 36:11Speaker 2: the reasons why have these people have trauma over.
- 36:14Speaker 5: The fucking being actors in the goddamn Star Wars movies?
- 36:18Speaker 4: And you know, literally you don't even have a fucking Twitter.
- 36:21Speaker 4: How are you fucking turning around?
- 36:23Speaker 5: All of a sudden, they literally drove half the people
- 36:26Speaker 5: to almost kill themselves, and that almost best fucking the
- 36:31Speaker 5: guy who allegedly the guy who played Anakin baby Anakin.
- 36:35Speaker 5: Like half these people want to kill themselves actor. All
- 36:38Speaker 5: these people are like legend. Sorry, after all these.
- 36:41Speaker 2: People like they had mental health shit, they had mental
- 36:43Speaker 2: health issues.
- 36:44Speaker 3: But like it didn't help.
- 36:45Speaker 5: It didn't help that like all these fans, all the
- 36:48Speaker 5: booer fans, were like your dog shit. It's like, dude,
- 36:51Speaker 5: you're the reason why we were in this place in
- 36:53Speaker 5: the first part. This is why Lucas quit because of you.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Okay, example hating Christensen and it can then is older
- 37:03Speaker 2: and Okay, after Star Wars he couldn't get much work
- 37:08Speaker 2: because he got work. He got worked during the Star
- 37:12Speaker 2: Wars era, but not after right, because I think students
- 37:16Speaker 2: were afraid to touch, like well we're gonna get hate
- 37:18Speaker 2: and now what again, there's that video now like him
- 37:21Speaker 2: walking out at celebration and the crowd goes there and
- 37:24Speaker 2: he he can't, he can't hold it back, he can't
- 37:27Speaker 2: hold it, starts crying.
- 37:29Speaker 4: Like I wouldn't blame him, I'd be the same thing.
- 37:31Speaker 2: But yeah, but I don't. I was trying to say,
- 37:34Speaker 2: is I kind of I've kind of come around, like, Okay,
- 37:37Speaker 2: I have to agree with you. I don't think they'll
- 37:39Speaker 2: be in hell this high regard as the the prequels.
- 37:43Speaker 2: I do think they'll be a little more because, like
- 37:45Speaker 2: I said, it's one of those scenes where I personally
- 37:48Speaker 2: think a lot of the shows Filoni has made, like
- 37:52Speaker 2: the animated shows, I feel like it's act and it's
- 37:55Speaker 2: not a knock on the prequels by themselves. I enjoy
- 37:58Speaker 2: them if I think, like was like Clone Wars, Rebels
- 38:02Speaker 2: help Bad Match Ahsoka, They've essentially they've elevated those movies
- 38:07Speaker 2: because now you know a lot more of the backs,
- 38:09Speaker 2: which always helps with anything, you know.
- 38:11Speaker 5: Like any like the but like it it feels like
- 38:15Speaker 5: I'll speak, I'll speak, and I'll speak on the side
- 38:20Speaker 5: of the objectors. It didn't feel like that for the prequels.
- 38:27Speaker 5: Did the Clone Wars helped flesh out flesh out like
- 38:31Speaker 5: the small details we were asking for, Yes, but we
- 38:36Speaker 5: didn't need a million comic books.
- 38:39Speaker 3: We didn't need like.
- 38:41Speaker 5: Four video games thirty video games to understand what the
- 38:44Speaker 5: fuck was going on the sequels. The Clone Wars was
- 38:47Speaker 5: just like, oh, here here's the here's the lored that
- 38:51Speaker 5: fills in the gap between these two movies that like
- 38:53Speaker 5: you guys really wanted to see, Like you didn't really
- 38:57Speaker 5: need it, but like it really helps flesh out out
- 39:00Speaker 5: the time skip between these two movies, whereas like the
- 39:04Speaker 5: sequels was just like, what the fuck is going on
- 39:06Speaker 5: in these movies? We know nothing about any of these characters.
- 39:09Speaker 5: You have not set up any of the lore. There's
- 39:11Speaker 5: no world building, and all the world building that you
- 39:14Speaker 5: do in the movies is so like gunshot that it's.
- 39:16Speaker 3: Like whohaha, who who whoa what's going on?
- 39:20Speaker 5: So where the where the prequels, it's more like here's
- 39:24Speaker 5: a little here's a little bit more to make it
- 39:26Speaker 5: even better, to make this, make an already good thing
- 39:30Speaker 5: even better.
- 39:31Speaker 3: Does that make sense?
- 39:33Speaker 2: And like, excuse me? The point, the point I'm trying
- 39:37Speaker 2: to make it too, is like people are in toided opinion.
- 39:40Speaker 2: People are in time to also have their opinions change. Yeah,
- 39:45Speaker 2: like I said last week, like I said that the
- 39:46Speaker 2: one thing, and I'm like and I literally had the
- 39:47Speaker 2: more thing. But I'm like, yeah, you know, Colokie click
- 39:49Speaker 2: is right. I'm not saying like they're gonna be hated
- 39:51Speaker 2: like as much as they are now, but yeah, but
- 39:53Speaker 2: like they're not gonna be like they're not gonna be
- 39:54Speaker 2: like how the prequels are regarded now to when the
- 39:56Speaker 2: sequels will be in thirty years. It's not gonna happen
- 39:58Speaker 2: like that. Yeah, But moving on now, moving forward. And
- 40:03Speaker 2: here's the thing. I think the point I was trying
- 40:05Speaker 2: to make about like when they first started making like
- 40:08Speaker 2: the sequels, they didn't have They clearly didn't have like
- 40:10Speaker 2: an actual plan. There's this photo. I mean you probably
- 40:13Speaker 2: don't talk about or it's J J. Abrams and like
- 40:15Speaker 2: the cast are sitting in a circle and they're going
- 40:17Speaker 2: over the story of Forest Awakens. The thing is I
- 40:21Speaker 2: think Felony is too I'm not saying this is not
- 40:24Speaker 2: a knock. I think Folony will be not not even
- 40:27Speaker 2: because of what happened with the with the past regime.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Flony is gonna be too focused on where are we
- 40:32Speaker 2: going next? Because if you watch any of the animated
- 40:35Speaker 2: shows he's done, Hell, if you watch even Ahsoka, you
- 40:38Speaker 2: could see those where it's like and this is where
- 40:40Speaker 2: I think he needs to scale back in terms of like, look,
- 40:42Speaker 2: we don't need this to be too inside baseball sometimes,
- 40:45Speaker 2: but you could spread it out because I think he's
- 40:48Speaker 2: always thinking about what's next. Because you could see a
- 40:49Speaker 2: lot of those Easter eggs with how Ahsoka ended, Hell
- 40:52Speaker 2: with how a lot of his shows and with how
- 40:53Speaker 2: a lot of his episodes ended with the animated stuff.
- 40:55Speaker 2: And I think it's because that's what makes because he's
- 40:57Speaker 2: gonna have plans, he's gonna bring it, he's gonna have
- 41:00Speaker 2: and like I said, I I you the one thing,
- 41:02Speaker 2: and I'm appreciate that you brought no one.
- 41:03Speaker 4: And here's the thing.
- 41:04Speaker 2: I can't find anything about this, which I'm a little
- 41:06Speaker 2: nervous about. But I can't find anything saying he's leaving.
- 41:08Speaker 2: I can't find anything in what Favreau is doing because
- 41:12Speaker 2: he's doing he's doing or not sorry, he's doing the
- 41:18Speaker 2: Mandalorian and Grougo. I think we gotta change that title.
- 41:22Speaker 2: That's my opinion. But like that movie comes out in May,
- 41:25Speaker 2: and the rumor is Favreau wants to do a season four,
- 41:28Speaker 2: which which okay, I'm for that if it's one in
- 41:34Speaker 2: season one and two where there's not there's not a
- 41:36Speaker 2: lot of people, there's too many heads and too many
- 41:38Speaker 2: cooks in the kitchen. Because I was a problem with
- 41:39Speaker 2: season three, which has been pretty much allegend confirmed or alleged.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Let him do season four. But to my one, my
- 41:48Speaker 2: one covey of this, you need to justify to not
- 41:50Speaker 2: just me, but the audience. Why is it? Why do
- 41:52Speaker 2: I need to watch a movie to watch essentially a
- 41:55Speaker 2: trailer for a new a season of a new of
- 41:57Speaker 2: a TV show. Because that's gonna be the one issue
- 42:00Speaker 2: with that. But just let and that's my thing. I
- 42:04Speaker 2: think kind of like Figgy, Hey, here's what we want
- 42:07Speaker 2: to do. YadA, YadA, YadA. What can you offer? Oh? Okay, great,
- 42:12Speaker 2: here's the thing. Can you admit, as you and I
- 42:15Speaker 2: detail last week, the one of the blunders during Kathleen saying,
- 42:20Speaker 2: which from what all accounts actually wasn't mostly her fault
- 42:24Speaker 2: was the Solo production. Could you imagine a fully developed,
- 42:27Speaker 2: fully produced Ron Howard solo movie, consider what you consider.
- 42:35Speaker 3: A Solo movie?
- 42:36Speaker 5: Just so run Howard Star Wars movie. I mean, he
- 42:41Speaker 5: took what I don't even I don't even know what Solo.
- 42:44Speaker 4: Was gonna before accounts it was nothing close to.
- 42:46Speaker 5: It, apparently supposedly, allegedly allegedly solo.
- 42:52Speaker 3: I will watch.
- 42:54Speaker 5: I will if it's on, if it's on anywhere, I will.
- 42:58Speaker 5: I will drop whatever I'm watch. It's such a good
- 43:03Speaker 5: adventure movie. It's a heist movie, yes, but to me,
- 43:08Speaker 5: it's a good adventure movie. You're going on an adventure
- 43:12Speaker 5: following this character, is it?
- 43:14Speaker 3: Is it a little? Is it a little campy?
- 43:16Speaker 5: Yes, but in a good way, because Han Solo is campy.
- 43:21Speaker 5: His whole character is that he's he's a fucking like,
- 43:26Speaker 5: he's like a kind of a goofball like shithead character.
- 43:30Speaker 2: So it works with him a bigger shit And I'm.
- 43:35Speaker 5: Like, there's so many opportunities to do that in the
- 43:38Speaker 5: Star Wars universe. You don't even have to do an
- 43:40Speaker 5: existing character, but there's so many existing characters that are
- 43:43Speaker 5: open to like doing that again. And I'm like, God,
- 43:46Speaker 5: there's so there's so much content that Star.
- 43:51Speaker 2: Wars Mandalorian could not run and didn't walk because here's
- 43:54Speaker 2: the thing, what if? Because what do people love about
- 43:57Speaker 2: Star Wars? They love when you scale back and you expand.
- 44:01Speaker 2: With Solo, that was I mean Rogue one, I mean
- 44:05Speaker 2: not no offense, the aim shows just taking the live
- 44:08Speaker 2: action productions into account. Solo was one of those first
- 44:13Speaker 2: in Rogue one Solo, Rogue one World, those first scenes
- 44:15Speaker 2: where you delve deep into the deepest pit of shit underground,
- 44:22Speaker 2: like you know, black market, bounty hunting, ship and people,
- 44:26Speaker 2: and then what happened and then Mando took it to
- 44:28Speaker 2: a whole other level. Yeah, Season three obviously expanded to it,
- 44:32Speaker 2: like like, oh, I guess now we're just gonna fucking
- 44:34Speaker 2: real but a planet. But and I like season three
- 44:36Speaker 2: but like it literally it gave it the blooprint of like,
- 44:40Speaker 2: you can do this underworld.
- 44:41Speaker 3: You can do you can do this.
- 44:45Speaker 2: You can do this underworld, underground, regular human ship with
- 44:50Speaker 2: your Star Wars seeming and not have any Jedi, not
- 44:53Speaker 2: have this grand scale power stuff. Sure. Obviously season two
- 44:58Speaker 2: Mandalorian is one of my favorite hoars subb It's on
- 45:00Speaker 2: was ever But like, you don't need in the gap,
- 45:03Speaker 2: there's little, there's groove, doesn't it doesn't need to be vocal.
- 45:08Speaker 2: It has to be the main focus. And like, and
- 45:11Speaker 2: that's why I'm saying, that's like why you can do that,
- 45:13Speaker 2: And that's why I think that's why I'm excited with Flowny,
- 45:14Speaker 2: because like he he doesn't have to do any of
- 45:17Speaker 2: the numbers of the business. He just has to create
- 45:20Speaker 2: and then he's got to meet with directors and just
- 45:23Speaker 2: be like our producers be like, hey, here's what we're doing,
- 45:25Speaker 2: here's what I want to do. What can you based
- 45:28Speaker 2: on your experience. You're like, oh, you've done like Ron Howard,
- 45:31Speaker 2: you've done You've done Apollo thirteen, You've done this, you've
- 45:33Speaker 2: done that. What can you what can you bring to
- 45:35Speaker 2: the table for this? Okay, great, let me meet with hypothetically,
- 45:39Speaker 2: let me let me meet with jj Abrams and see
- 45:42Speaker 2: what he would do with this.
- 45:43Speaker 4: Okay, I'm gonna go, Ron, how are you gonna meat
- 45:45Speaker 4: just ship like that?
- 45:46Speaker 3: And and you know what, there's and not halfway.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Through production go or through pro preproduction go.
- 45:52Speaker 5: You know what.
- 45:52Speaker 4: I don't like what you're writing.
- 45:53Speaker 3: Fuck you.
- 45:54Speaker 2: It's like we literally agreed on it because that was
- 45:56Speaker 2: the problem with or or hold on before you go sorry,
- 45:59Speaker 2: or before you even go, we're not doing it.
- 46:01Speaker 4: You announce it to the world.
- 46:02Speaker 2: Here's the movie, here's who's writing, here's who's directing, here's
- 46:05Speaker 2: the plot. Oh uh, fuck you.
- 46:08Speaker 5: Don't say you guys actually production everyone excited just to
- 46:11Speaker 5: be like, no, we're.
- 46:13Speaker 3: Gonna do everything completely different.
- 46:16Speaker 4: It's like what you had it you you're doing it's gone.
- 46:21Speaker 3: Literally it's gone. It's like, god damn it, we were
- 46:25Speaker 3: right there. Okay, it's just it's just frustrating.
- 46:32Speaker 2: I need to bring this up. Yeah, because I know
- 46:34Speaker 2: we're going to we're about the goals in ours, So
- 46:39Speaker 2: I'm gonna announce some things to you coming out. Okay,
- 46:42Speaker 2: let's go this may Actually I'm not before we get
- 46:45Speaker 2: to the movies, I'm gonna scale it back. I'm gonna
- 46:47Speaker 2: go to the things that clickie Clack and I are
- 46:49Speaker 2: very into. Okay, So this year we're gonna we're gonna
- 46:52Speaker 2: go to the games really quick. Okay.
- 46:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:56Speaker 2: This year, which this was surprise to me, we're getting
- 46:58Speaker 2: a Racing Star Wars Racing Hours, which I'm all for.
- 47:04Speaker 2: You know, I am.
- 47:05Speaker 5: I am over the stars. I am a I've spent
- 47:09Speaker 5: probably eighty hours plus as a kid playing Episode one Racer.
- 47:16Speaker 3: It was one of my favorite games.
- 47:18Speaker 2: That ship was so fucking so good.
- 47:21Speaker 5: It's like, and if you play, if you go back
- 47:23Speaker 5: and play the original game, can you even recognize what's
- 47:27Speaker 5: going on the screen?
- 47:28Speaker 2: No?
- 47:28Speaker 3: But I know the routes. But I know the routes
- 47:32Speaker 3: by memory.
- 47:33Speaker 2: One. Oh god, no, I'll never forget the first time
- 47:37Speaker 2: I played that game. I played it at Oh let's
- 47:40Speaker 2: see what was on the was on the PlayStation two
- 47:41Speaker 2: or PlayStation one, for sure, It's the place I played.
- 47:43Speaker 3: It on the Nintenda sixty four.
- 47:45Speaker 4: Oh yeah, it wasn't that six. But dude, no, that ship.
- 47:50Speaker 2: I remember when I played that ship and they then
- 47:53Speaker 2: they kind of did like they didn't do like a
- 47:55Speaker 2: like a rematch.
- 47:56Speaker 4: They did like a big head version.
- 47:57Speaker 2: Of PlayStation one place, and it was okay, but I'm
- 47:59Speaker 2: going to play that ship like it was at my
- 48:01Speaker 2: dad's coworker's house, like his like his kid just got it.
- 48:04Speaker 2: I don't know, like I whatever, but like I actually
- 48:07Speaker 2: remember like playing that like two and like the two
- 48:09Speaker 2: races and I'm like like yeah, like this ship's awesome,
- 48:12Speaker 2: and like yeah, and you can't you. I can't wait.
- 48:15Speaker 2: I can't wait for when the game comes out. All
- 48:17Speaker 2: these streamers.
- 48:17Speaker 4: I've been waiting for this for thirty fucking years. Motherfucker.
- 48:20Speaker 4: You probably never played Racer in the fucking two thousand
- 48:23Speaker 4: and one.
- 48:23Speaker 2: Kiss my kiss my ass. Like you know what they're
- 48:28Speaker 2: all gonna go, he's Potter Racing. No you're not, you're
- 48:30Speaker 2: a fake fan. No, but so you got that coming out,
- 48:33Speaker 2: which was that a surprise? Okay, now here's where it
- 48:36Speaker 2: gets a liffy. Yeah, So this is the one thing
- 48:41Speaker 2: I'm a Lucas. I'm a Lucas fan. I love LucasArts.
- 48:45Speaker 2: I want LucasArts to come back. I want thousand percent.
- 48:48Speaker 2: I'm gonna say this right now. I want thousand percent understand,
- 48:52Speaker 2: and I don't like where gaming's at today. That will
- 48:54Speaker 2: be next week's episode. We'll talk about I'll talk about
- 48:57Speaker 2: that next week. I don't like where gaming is today.
- 48:59Speaker 2: I made that clear in our gaming roundtables.
- 49:01Speaker 5: We've we've talked, we've touched on gaming, We've touched this
- 49:04Speaker 5: to death to a point numerous lives understand.
- 49:07Speaker 2: I understand why Lucasfilm was like, you know what, we
- 49:13Speaker 2: want to focus on other projects. We're going to outsource this.
- 49:15Speaker 2: I get that one, especially because Star Wars is just
- 49:19Speaker 2: a hot name. I don't know your opinions. I love Outlaws,
- 49:23Speaker 2: especially all the updates.
- 49:24Speaker 3: I never played it because of everything that.
- 49:28Speaker 2: I saw, I said, it's a lot better, and I
- 49:31Speaker 2: can tell you, like literally, okay, here's what.
- 49:33Speaker 3: They want to want to Wait wait, wait, let me
- 49:35Speaker 3: finish this one.
- 49:36Speaker 5: I feel like from what I saw, they wanted to
- 49:38Speaker 5: create and they wanted to jump on the success of.
- 49:45Speaker 3: Of Following Order.
- 49:48Speaker 5: And create a game in that similar art style and
- 49:51Speaker 5: play style, but instead of being a Jedi, just like
- 49:53Speaker 5: a random outlaw, and I just from what I've seen,
- 49:57Speaker 5: they seemed seemed rush And I was like, you know what,
- 50:03Speaker 5: as much as the story seems enticing, I just it's.
- 50:07Speaker 2: Just I agree with you on the rush part. However,
- 50:09Speaker 2: obviously with all the bad questions that came out of it,
- 50:11Speaker 2: it's a lot better now. I will say, do not
- 50:14Speaker 2: buy it less. It's absolutely on sale. I got the
- 50:16Speaker 2: one hundred and twenty dollars edition for thirty bucks that
- 50:20Speaker 2: gives you an idea, and I enjoy it.
- 50:22Speaker 4: Here's my one knock on the game.
- 50:23Speaker 2: There are some things I'm like, Okay, Like my biggest
- 50:27Speaker 2: knock on is when you go when you say with
- 50:28Speaker 2: a storm trip and you punch in the face, like, wait,
- 50:30Speaker 2: why would my hand not break?
- 50:31Speaker 4: That's my one knock on.
- 50:32Speaker 2: So but okay, we have this is where gets a
- 50:35Speaker 2: little dicey with the video games. Okay, so we have
- 50:37Speaker 2: Galactic Racer coming out this year. Then we have Star
- 50:41Speaker 2: Wars Eclipse.
- 50:43Speaker 4: This was announced.
- 50:45Speaker 2: Can you guys when this game was announced, we only
- 50:46Speaker 2: have a cinematic trailer. This was announced almost five years ago. Now,
- 50:54Speaker 2: games you just take about what, like movies twoed I mean,
- 50:57Speaker 2: some games say ten years, but like this usual, most
- 50:59Speaker 2: games take you like what, three to five years to make.
- 51:02Speaker 2: All we have is a trailer from almost for essentially
- 51:06Speaker 2: four and a half years ago, four years because it's
- 51:08Speaker 2: a game of wards. Okay, the next Jedi game, I
- 51:13Speaker 2: don't know. All I know is they've they've done the
- 51:15Speaker 2: mo cap but hey, like at least at least they're
- 51:19Speaker 2: making it zero company. This one is supposed to come
- 51:25Speaker 2: out the end of this year. This is that X
- 51:26Speaker 2: Com style one, the one you and I kind of
- 51:29Speaker 2: front because I'm not really I'm not a strategy game
- 51:31Speaker 2: kind of guy.
- 51:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I I I'm looking forward to it, but it's
- 51:36Speaker 3: I'm going with a lot of caution.
- 51:38Speaker 4: I'm gonna wait to see.
- 51:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's one of those things. It's like very
- 51:42Speaker 3: cool cause of guys, But are we gonna fall through
- 51:46Speaker 3: with it? Or are we just gonna let it bomb?
- 51:49Speaker 1: You know?
- 51:50Speaker 2: All right? And then here's the other one. This was
- 51:51Speaker 2: announced the same night as the racing game, The Fail
- 51:54Speaker 2: of the Old Republic. It's supposed to be a whole
- 51:57Speaker 2: new thing. The director from the Mass Effect trilogy is involved,
- 52:01Speaker 2: which that's why I'm a little excited. Here's where I'm
- 52:05Speaker 2: a little worried. So almost five years ago, when Eclipse
- 52:12Speaker 2: was announced, do you know another game that was announced?
- 52:15Speaker 4: Tell nice of the Old Republic remake? Where the Yeah,
- 52:22Speaker 4: where is it?
- 52:24Speaker 3: I mean, I mean, I mean, what is it? There's
- 52:26Speaker 3: like three games in development.
- 52:28Speaker 5: Hell, so it's like, yeah, we appreciate you announcing all
- 52:31Speaker 5: these games and getting us excited, but actually make them,
- 52:35Speaker 5: actually finish them and give us a problem.
- 52:37Speaker 4: Things happen, Things take time.
- 52:39Speaker 2: M I don't watch the Game Awards anymore because here's
- 52:44Speaker 2: my biggest knock against it. You do these cinematic trailers
- 52:48Speaker 2: and either A the game never comes out or b
- 52:51Speaker 2: when the game finals come after again, game.
- 52:53Speaker 3: It's nothing near what I'm sorry it needs.
- 52:57Speaker 4: I'm sorry, it needs to be gameplay trailer.
- 53:00Speaker 2: That's what it needs to be. Okay.
- 53:02Speaker 4: Like, for example, when the God of War uh for the.
- 53:06Speaker 2: Uh not reboot revamped God of War was announced, the
- 53:10Speaker 2: first the first footage they showed was a game was
- 53:14Speaker 2: a was gameplay and literally you watched the crowd it
- 53:18Speaker 2: is literally like a stone cold like holy shit pop because.
- 53:23Speaker 4: The crowd thought, oh, we're getting a trailer.
- 53:25Speaker 2: It's like, no, this is a twenty minute demo, and
- 53:31Speaker 2: and pretty much exactly what was in a demo was
- 53:32Speaker 2: in the game that level, other than like one little
- 53:35Speaker 2: monologue thing at the very beginning is tweaked. Otherwise, everything
- 53:38Speaker 2: that you saw in the demo you do in the game.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Nothing changed. And guess what that game single player No
- 53:43Speaker 2: Online has sold what millions of copies made probably hundreds
- 53:46Speaker 2: of millions of dollars. So you don't need to have
- 53:48Speaker 2: all this, Michael, and I get that's what the game
- 53:50Speaker 2: is that with. That's where the Michael transaction bullshit. But
- 53:52Speaker 2: the point trying to make.
- 53:52Speaker 3: Is we're capitalist. Hell that's I mean, well, the point
- 53:56Speaker 3: trying to make.
- 53:57Speaker 2: Is Star Wars is so untapped as well, or there's
- 54:00Speaker 2: so much they can do with the video games, but
- 54:01Speaker 2: it's like they need to.
- 54:05Speaker 4: Okay, here's the thing.
- 54:06Speaker 2: I'm sorry the games that come out to like what,
- 54:08Speaker 2: let's say, like what last ten years. I enjoy the
- 54:12Speaker 2: Jedi games, I enjoy Outlaws. There's a lot to do.
- 54:17Speaker 2: Bell Front two is my favorite games of all time.
- 54:20Speaker 2: I'm sorry, though, I should not be.
- 54:23Speaker 4: I should not be.
- 54:24Speaker 2: It's gonna sound shitty. I shouldn't be playing a game
- 54:27Speaker 2: that came almost ten years ago. That should not be
- 54:30Speaker 2: your top game. That's people.
- 54:31Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yah, yeah, I see what. But you know what,
- 54:33Speaker 5: I've kind of I've kind of hit my saturation point
- 54:36Speaker 5: of games. I'm like, let me enjoy these games for
- 54:39Speaker 5: ten years. Let me I get I get overstimulated by
- 54:42Speaker 5: how many games there are. Oh yeah, it's like so, Mike,
- 54:45Speaker 5: I just want them to release, like like the Racer game, Like,
- 54:49Speaker 5: that's something we haven't had in a while. Fine, release that.
- 54:53Speaker 5: If you want to remake a game, If you want
- 54:55Speaker 5: to remake a game, fine do that. Remake Nights to Fights,
- 55:00Speaker 5: the Star Wars remakes. They've made it have been good,
- 55:02Speaker 5: but I'm saying, like, make a good one of it.
- 55:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:05Speaker 5: If you want to do something completely new, public like
- 55:09Speaker 5: no like Fall in Order. If you like, fine do that.
- 55:12Speaker 5: Give us a good game, but stop releasing. Stop releasing
- 55:16Speaker 5: twenty new games, stop announcing thirty, giving us fifteen and
- 55:21Speaker 5: maybe five maybe five are good. Like I just just
- 55:26Speaker 5: give us good content. Announce what, announce what's actually gonna
- 55:29Speaker 5: come out. Make sure it's good, and don't oversaturate the market.
- 55:33Speaker 5: That's all I'm asking but it's never gonna happen because
- 55:36Speaker 5: we're reading and.
- 55:37Speaker 2: I'm glad you brought that up because I was an
- 55:38Speaker 2: announced I was gonna go over the movies next, but
- 55:40Speaker 2: we're not gonna I'm not gonna go too different too
- 55:41Speaker 2: it because there's the thing. There's all these movies that
- 55:44Speaker 2: we talked about this, there's all these movies they announced
- 55:46Speaker 2: in twenty during COVID. We're like that that Kathleen Kennedy
- 55:51Speaker 2: meme photo where it's not even a meme, which is
- 55:53Speaker 2: a picture of first Tammy Tolley's production she announced where
- 55:55Speaker 2: half of them, half of them were made, and half
- 55:57Speaker 2: of the ones that were made were ridiculed. You can't
- 56:00Speaker 2: even go You can't even find Willow anymore unless you
- 56:02Speaker 2: find it on like a black not black market, but
- 56:04Speaker 2: like a website that you're not supposed to be watching
- 56:06Speaker 2: videos on.
- 56:07Speaker 4: Essentially, it's not even there. And Disney owns it.
- 56:12Speaker 2: Obviously. We have Mandalorian and Krogu this year, we have
- 56:15Speaker 2: Starfighter next year. Then there's other there's other these other
- 56:19Speaker 2: movies that are some have scripts turned in, some were
- 56:23Speaker 2: in production or pre production where there's way for more information.
- 56:27Speaker 2: Pointre Maker is next year is Star Wars Celebration and
- 56:31Speaker 2: it's Star Wars fiftieth birthday. What I'm trying to say
- 56:35Speaker 2: is you have about a year and a quarter to
- 56:40Speaker 2: plan out because here's the thing. I don't think there's
- 56:42Speaker 2: gonna be a lot of announcement because I think rightfully
- 56:44Speaker 2: so I think the main focus at Star Wars Celebration,
- 56:47Speaker 2: because this is where I think they're smart. They don't
- 56:48Speaker 2: do every year. They do it when they they usually
- 56:50Speaker 2: do it when they have stuff to announce or something big,
- 56:52Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Because you're just smart because
- 56:55Speaker 2: you don't want to you don't want to oversaturate the
- 56:57Speaker 2: crowd to a point. But like, the main focus is
- 57:01Speaker 2: gonna be the Star Wars for theth birthday. They're gonna
- 57:03Speaker 2: really they're gonna show the original New Hope cut, which
- 57:06Speaker 2: I'm all for that, but also it's like George Lucas,
- 57:11Speaker 2: George Lucas himself doesn't want that shown. So it's kind
- 57:14Speaker 2: of like, you know what I mean.
- 57:15Speaker 5: We're about to see human Java and it's gonna be
- 57:19Speaker 5: very human Java.
- 57:21Speaker 2: People are Okay, you're ready for this? The thing that
- 57:28Speaker 2: the thing Disney or not Disney. George trying to avoid
- 57:31Speaker 2: for years. There are kids who.
- 57:33Speaker 4: Are naive, by the way, who don't think hand shot first.
- 57:36Speaker 2: They're gonna actually see the hon did shoot first. The
- 57:39Speaker 2: point I'm trying to make is I just hope, my one, hope,
- 57:45Speaker 2: my one, my new hope.
- 57:47Speaker 3: Rebellions are built on hope.
- 57:51Speaker 2: The only things that are announced are not in I'm
- 57:55Speaker 2: not gonna say pre production, they're about to go into production.
- 57:57Speaker 2: Because here's the thing, Starfighter, that movie gotta announced, and
- 58:01Speaker 2: it's like, oh, okay, cool, I mean, we'll see if
- 58:04Speaker 2: it gets made. It's like, oh, it's already being shot.
- 58:07Speaker 2: Like okay, listen, why.
- 58:08Speaker 4: Is it that that movie is getting shot right away?
- 58:11Speaker 2: But then like James Mangole's movies on the back burner.
- 58:13Speaker 4: Allegedly, you know what I mean, Like like, what, what's
- 58:16Speaker 4: what's the disconnect?
- 58:17Speaker 2: Like obviously people have scheduled some different jobs. I get that,
- 58:20Speaker 2: but it's like, what's the uh why is it? Like
- 58:24Speaker 2: this is happening now, but this was announced like two
- 58:27Speaker 2: years ago, But this was announced three years ago. We
- 58:29Speaker 2: haven't even said a day of when we're gonna start casting,
- 58:32Speaker 2: you know what I mean? Yeah, So, and I say
- 58:36Speaker 2: all I'm saying is next year, you just because here's
- 58:38Speaker 2: the thing. Next year, it's gonna essentially be other than
- 58:40Speaker 2: obviously Mandalorian Grogan will be the first thing under the
- 58:42Speaker 2: new regime. But you know, Kathleen's all because it was
- 58:44Speaker 2: she produced it. She was like, I said, you're not
- 58:46Speaker 2: gonna You're not gonna see anything without Kathleen's name for
- 58:49Speaker 2: at least two years, which makes sense because this shit
- 58:51Speaker 2: takes time to make people sorry, but like, you know,
- 58:55Speaker 2: there's anything wrong with that. Hopefully it's good. The first
- 58:57Speaker 2: two season Mandalorian had her name attached to it. He guys,
- 59:00Speaker 2: what they're pretty fucking good and or a show they
- 59:03Speaker 2: got named for all the enemies. It was pretty fucking
- 59:05Speaker 2: good and also very good produced by Kathleen. Kennedy point
- 59:11Speaker 2: trying to make is we gotta be patient because it's
- 59:13Speaker 2: gonna be two thories. But also it's like next year
- 59:14Speaker 2: though here's the thing. They cannot announce it unless they
- 59:19Speaker 2: know for sure it's gonna get paid. And I mean
- 59:22Speaker 2: like like like this because this is the thing, the
- 59:25Speaker 2: thing that's surprised everyone about the whole Sean Levy Starfighter movies,
- 59:28Speaker 2: Like when Ryan Goson came out and they announced it like,
- 59:31Speaker 2: oh yeah, we're shooting in like two months, and people
- 59:32Speaker 2: were like, because again with the Lucas it was lucasfilm joke.
- 59:36Speaker 2: It's like, yeah, no, you're not. You're fucking lying.
- 59:39Speaker 3: Okay, buddy, Okay.
- 59:40Speaker 2: The famous podcasters were like, we I think I like,
- 59:45Speaker 2: like I said, I think it's I hate to say
- 59:46Speaker 2: it's a joke. It's obviously jokes are obviously shooting stuff.
- 59:48Speaker 2: But it's like, I think at some point they're like,
- 59:50Speaker 2: I think they're the same, just to say it, but
- 59:53Speaker 2: they weren't because they actually shot the fucking movie. But like,
- 59:57Speaker 2: you need I hate to.
- 59:59Speaker 4: Say this, you need to hit a home run.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: Excuse me. Unless next year at the fiftieth, the whole
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: focus is just the birthday. If that's the case, fine,
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: but then you can. But then you cannot announce anything,
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: which here's the thing. You know they're not going to
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: They have to announce stuff because that's what you do.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: It entices your fan base, it keeps you intrigued, keeps
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: you interested, because here's the thing. It's just simply saying like, hey,
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: we're gonna show the original the original movie here. That's
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: our that's our big attraction. That's no, that's not that
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: doesn't work. Like I mean, Roman, if I'm there, I'm
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: gonna sit my ass down. I'm gonna watch it. I've
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: seen it because my dad. My dad's cool and he
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: had some he had vhs and shit like that.
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: But like, I've seen it, but like you need, you need.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: To just you got it. I'd hate to say you
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: got to hit a home run. It's I hate to
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: say with how with with with all This is the
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: things that Star Wars fans, the good, the ben and
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: the ugly have been asking for for the last what
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: five minum five years. It's like, okay, here, we got it.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: And it's not like I need. It's not like hey,
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: I would say all these movies usually be good. It's like, okay,
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: if you announced anything, it needs to not be here's
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: the thing. You can literally announce a jar Jar Banks
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: cooking show.
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: It's just to be good.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: No no, no no no no no no no no no,
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: it doesn't have to be good. Just tell me it's
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: going into production. I don't want announcements of like we're
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: making this in three I want it needs to be like, hey,
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: we have announcements. Here, here's this announcement, like with the
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: Sean Levy. We have contracts, we have a director, we
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: have a producer, we have a start. Oh most importantly,
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: we have a shoot date. Yeah, that's what it needs
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: to be. That last one that you could say, you
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: could not say who's directing. You're starting to go, okay,
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: we're making this Jar Jar Binks cooking show. We start
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: shooting it and changing, great, cool, thank you. And if
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: sh like you think shit happens like the the Writer's
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: strike and the actors strike, was it two years ago?
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: I was crazy to say that fucked up a lot
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: of shit in Hollywood, which makes sense, that's something you
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: can't predict your control. But that wasn't the entire tenure
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: of the Disney with Star Wars the last fifty years. Yeah,
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: so you just you gotta it needs to be like concrete,
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: like again, just give us shoot dates. Doing you get
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: people like when it comes out? Just be like, shit,
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: we are gonna be in production this fall, Like great, cool,
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: thank you.
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: Cool, that's what you wanted. Okay, that's gonna.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: That's gonna be. That's me new tag because every movie
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: fucking now is that's the new that's a new big
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: you know catchphrase slogan, it's only in theaters, that's it. No,
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: Star Wars Lucasill needs to be in production this summer
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: like that's it. Yeah, I don't care if the movie
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: doesn't come out till twenty fucking fifty two. Just tell
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: me it's going to production.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: Please, please just put into production, because.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: Again, I want the land. I don't give a fucking
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: Lando as a fucking movie or a TV show or
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: a fucking thing on my phone. Just make the fucking
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: Lando thing obviously.
- 1:03:02Speaker 6: Uh.
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: Gambino has had some health issues, which is why some
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: stuff happened.
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: But he turned into scripts. We have confirmed that he
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: turned into scripts.
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: No, we have we have confirmed scripts for was it
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: Donald Glover. I believe James man Goold and Taut.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: I'm very cautious.
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: Hey, I don't give it. I don't give a ship.
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: If a fucking director from fucking team who's making a
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: Star Wars movie.
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: Ship's at least moving forward. Just makes just make ship.
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: Mm hmm. Look, you're more generous than I want more
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: Star Wars.
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: All right, we're Star Wars. See what you want about
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: Taka's He's an Academy Award winning script screenwriter.
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: Like the guy can write and he can make good
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: ship just.
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: In his in his very specific genre, but like it
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: doesn't always lend to I think all types of media.
- 1:03:56Speaker 5: Like if if you had told me Tayka did Skeleton Crew,
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: I would buy it and I would.
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: Say that that makes sense.
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: That was a good show. Good job, Taika, good job.
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: But then you have thor Ragnarok and.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: You're just like Love and Thunder?
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: Sorry, dare you rag Apiece and Thunder? I'm like, what
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: happened Tayker, what happened? We we did such a good job.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: We want to have a Ragnrock on this podcast.
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: Did you ever hear about anything? I mean, I know
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: this is completely up. Did you ever know did we
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: ever find out why Love and Thunder was so weird?
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: No? And this is this is where I'm This is
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: why I'm cop I've never lost faith in Taika because
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: here's the thing. Not every director hits a home run.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: Scor says he has not made masterpieces continuously quit Tarantino
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: has that make master ty pretty much Tyke and Cramsworth
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: both pretty much said we got too comfortable and we
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: that's a That's essentially what they both have said, and
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: they like like again because I think, like I can't
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: really where I read it. Hamsworth like was doing a
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: movie thing and obviously like we're talking about like his
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: Avengers trail or his him being the Avengers movie and
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: he people said he was second. He gets to go
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: back to being the oulth or like the thought it's
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: like I'm here to kick ass, like I'm here to
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: be essentially, I'm here to be a dick because I'm
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: a god like like it's like, yes, that's what I want.
- 1:05:16Speaker 4: This giant AUSSI ass dude who's Jack.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: Is an asshole because it's like you can't like no
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: one could fucking touch me. Mm hmm, Like that's what
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: we want. Okay, Yeah, he's got a soft syle because
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: he's got a kid. What that happens to every dad?
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: Great and TI can pretty much do the same thing.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: Like like I think essentially, girls supposed to be in
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: the New Avengers. What's that the girl his daughter is
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: supposed to be? She is in I mean it's not
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: a spoilers. There's a trailer. She is in the trailer
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: for like five seconds mm hmm.
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: So, which is fine.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: Good. Here's the thing.
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: We just want good content that's all we want from
- 1:05:54Speaker 5: these from producers, Marvel, Star Wars, everything, Godzillas. But that's
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: a whole other podcast. Gotzilla.
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: We can about that an other day, and we should
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: because there's a lot of stuff coming out. There's a
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: lot of stuff.
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: Did you see the Monarch trailer?
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: I'm not I'm not watching any spoilers.
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: Well, have you not seen the trailer?
- 1:06:17Speaker 5: Because I never watched season one, and I was going
- 1:06:22Speaker 5: to watch season one because I thought it was gonna
- 1:06:23Speaker 5: be a one off. But now that there's season I
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: was waiting for it to complete it and then I
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: was gonna watch it. Never got around to it. But
- 1:06:30Speaker 5: now that they're releasing season two, I'm gonna wait to
- 1:06:34Speaker 5: for season two to all come out. That way, I
- 1:06:36Speaker 5: can do the one week trial of Apple TV, watching
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: all the Apple TV shows I want to do and
- 1:06:41Speaker 5: one week and then I'm just gonna not subscribe.
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: To a fair enough Yeah.
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: Here's what okay, and here's the thing we get on
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: this here is the perfect example with like Monarch going
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: because we'll tie it back into Disney or Star Wars. Okay,
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: when Monarch was announced for Apple TV, the only positive
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: had going to that is like, well, it's on Apple
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: TV and they make good television shows. But it's like, okay,
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: you're gonna make a television show which is as a
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: and here's the thing.
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: All the things said, oh, Godzilla will.
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: Be in it, and it's like, okay, it's gonna be
- 1:07:13Speaker 2: like the Godzilla movie from like ten years agore. He's
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: in there for like five minutes. Spoiler, he's not there
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: for five minutes.
- 1:07:18Speaker 4: He's in it a lot, which is.
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: Hilarious because it's like, Okay, Godzilla is owned by Toho,
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: he's being essentially leased out by Warner Brothers, but now
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: Warner Brothers is leasing them out to Apple TV. You
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: get wrong going. It's like it's just like I'm just
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: we're gonna keep leasing this thing now the more and
- 1:07:34Speaker 2: more people. And it was a good show.
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: It was a real because I remember, I'm not an
- 1:07:39Speaker 4: Apple TV guy.
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: I'm not a subscriber. I'm not And then Shagzilla he's like, hey,
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: I know you don't have Apple TV and I know
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: you're Godzilla guy. You need to watch this. And I'm like,
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: he's like why, I'll watch the end of season, like
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: I'll figure out. He's like, no, like you need to
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: watch this like live and I'm glad I did because
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: I'm not gonna lie. It's right and it's the thing,
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: the story, this is what stars can learn from it.
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: You can do these shows where you have those random
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: like like legacy characters pop and like ooh, like fuck,
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: I don't care. Here's the thing. If Starfighter is I
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: think it's a good movie. If Starfighter is a great movie,
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: and the only legacy character that pops into three po,
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: fucking a cool. I'm not saying God's Will is three po,
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: but like you can do a show where it's like
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: it doesn't have to be that comp essentially, you don't
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: you don't need to know everything, but if you do
- 1:08:31Speaker 2: know stuff, it's like, hey, little extra bonus for you. Yeah,
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: And like when Godzilla comes into the Monarch the show,
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: it's like, oh fucking a, here's Godzilla.
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: Yay.
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: But like it's still a good show because the story,
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: while it's very complex, it they tell it in a
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: very simple way that even if you haven't seen the
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: last fucking five Godzilla legendary movies, you don't need to
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: know shit if someone because they do a whole explanition
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: here's what Monarch is. Ha ha, you know, like doing
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: every fucking movie because that's what's smart. It's like, yeah,
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: you know, someone probably isn't seen the Gods of from
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: ten years ago or like or because here's the thing
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: I guarante there people wouldn't se godzlivers Con and probably
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: didn't see in the movies prior to that. What are
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: they doing godzliverrus Con.
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: Here's what monarch is great?
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: That took you off two fucking minutes. I remember that.
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: That's why I think.
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: That's why I think Fantastic For the recent one. I
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: think it's criminally errated. I love the movie, but you
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: know what I love about it? Even every every majority
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: of people know the Fantastic For. They know their backstory,
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: all the movies that they've done. The last two attempts,
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: they spend like an hour explain to you how they
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: got their powers. What does this movie do In the
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: first five minutes, they went out of ship, they got
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: their powers, they're superheroes. Go great, I don't need to
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: know anymore.
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:09:42Speaker 5: It's like it's like, if you're coming to watch this movie,
- 1:09:44Speaker 5: you already know the promise of the characters, Like you've
- 1:09:47Speaker 5: read the comic books or you've seen them, you see.
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: The trailer or you've seen the trailer, or you've seen
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: them another movie.
- 1:09:53Speaker 5: Like there's so much already media out there that all
- 1:09:56Speaker 5: of these characters that like, who's coming to.
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: These movies not knowing anything about these characters at this point,
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: Like we've we've like whether it's Godzilla, whether it's Stars,
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: whether it's Marvel, whether it's what Predator whatever, Like, if
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: you're coming to watch this movie, you already consumed, You've
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: had to have already consumed.
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: You haven't have an idea of what you're getting into. Yeah, exactly,
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: Well here's the thing. There are gonna be here.
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: Stop treating us like we're fucking idiots.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: The perfect MP's been saying in the last ten minutes
- 1:10:26Speaker 2: there are going to be a fuck ton and I
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: mean a fuck ton of people going to see doom
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: Zat's Christmas that have not seen a fucking theme of
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: Avengers other than maybe Spider Man or one thing and Avengers,
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: what endgame came out? What twenty nineteen? We're going on
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: in five years and they're gonna be people. There are
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: gonna people go why is Iron Man killing people? Like?
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: I guess what, I guarantee you they're gonna explain all
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: that in the first ten fucking minutes yep, and all
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: those questions canna be Livia, Which is what I'm trying
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: to say with Star Wars you need to because that's
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: the one coming about folone eight that I have a
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: little bit of aization. I'm not saying I'm not. I
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: think he's gonna do great. I really do, but it's like,
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: you need to not make all your stuff too inside
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: baseball because I know people who don't like the Ahsoka show.
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: I love the Ahsoka Show. I think it's great.
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: Do you watch Clone Wars?
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: It's it is literally if you watch Clone Wars, it
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: is literally a golden goose tendancy on a silver player,
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: like here's here's a golden egg for being a good fanboy.
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: It's great.
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: It's great if you don't know it, it's like okay,
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: because like Kaitlyn, she enjoyed it, but then she like
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: she didn't be like uh because it's not like it's
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: not like stuff think it's and or perfect example. You
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: literally hired a guy Gilroy, who has admittedly so said
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: he is not a gigantic Star Wars fan, but he
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: gets the premise and what does he do. He makes
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: two seasons of a show where it's like people can eat.
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: People who don't know this will understand it right away.
- 1:11:55Speaker 4: People who don't do know this are really good to
- 1:11:58Speaker 4: enjoy this and guess what.
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: They were nominated for the highest award in all of television,
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: not just not just the not just the Enemies, in
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: like every other fucking awards. It's because it's because it's good,
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: because a lot of because a lot of people don't know.
- 1:12:15Speaker 4: Unfortunately, the general audience just know the entire lore of
- 1:12:17Speaker 4: Star Wars.
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: They know the basics. Luke, I'm your father and there's
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: a death star.
- 1:12:20Speaker 5: That's only I've said that, and we've we've killed this
- 1:12:23Speaker 5: death You do not have to be a Star Wars
- 1:12:25Speaker 5: fan to like and or you do not.
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: You don't need to be a Star Wars fan to
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: watch Star Wars.
- 1:12:32Speaker 3: Yeah, you don't.
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: And that's why I'm that's why I'm hoping they scale
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: back on some stuff and like.
- 1:12:37Speaker 5: Yeah, and I feel like that's such a that's such
- 1:12:40Speaker 5: a that's what holds back so many people on all
- 1:12:46Speaker 5: these kinds of contents. This is like they think that
- 1:12:50Speaker 5: you have to know fifty years worth of lord to
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: like watch this movie or else. It's just it's not
- 1:12:55Speaker 5: gonna click for you. It's like, no, you can watch
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: all this content with no idea, okay what and you
- 1:13:01Speaker 5: can ask questions, sure, but like they'll do love explaining
- 1:13:05Speaker 5: like or like even if you don't know, it's fun
- 1:13:09Speaker 5: going on the adventure when you don't know, because then
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: you want to discover.
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: But I just exactly, and here's the thing.
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: Even if you don't know either said like ask your
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: friend or your spouse, like you're saying, I don't like
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: talking to your movies, and like I've got because when
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: Kleys asked me like like hey, who is that, I'd
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: be like, oh, like just watch what it's like okay,
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: you know know, like hey, Charlie, don't be a dick.
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: Like it's a lot of shit. They'll learn in five seconds,
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: you know, like let me explain this to you really quick.
- 1:13:32Speaker 4: Like it's fine.
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: We're gonna watch this again probably anyway in two months
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: or so. But like it's not that hard to explain.
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: With the Avengers movies, it's not gonna be hard to
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: explain because you're saying therapeople going to go see the Doomsday.
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: They're not gonna do with a fantastic forest therapeple are
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: gonna go see it.
- 1:13:47Speaker 4: They're not gonna go who the fuck They're not gonna.
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: Know who, Like the black part, Like there are people
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: who have seen who have seen all the Avengers movies,
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: but they still don't know who the fuck Black Panther is.
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: They still don't know who the fuck ant Man is.
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: They they know the basic like, oh, there's Store, there's
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: Iron Man, there's Captain America, there's Hulk. Oh wait, Captain America.
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: Wait wait, who's that's not Captain? Who's that Captain America?
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: Oh there's a different Captain America. Now oh okay, great,
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: I told you everything I needed to know in five
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: fucking seconds. Thank you. Let me watch the movie, you
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: know what I mean? Yeah, And like that's saying That's
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: why I'm saying, like with Star Wars, like there's all
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: these new hopefully projects that have been announced or that
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: are in or in that process of getting made with
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: different directors, different minds, And again I'm gonna hammer it
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: home again next year. If you announce stuff, it needs
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: to be stuff that. If anything, don't announce anything new,
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: just give us updates. That's it.
- 1:14:38Speaker 4: Just give us updates. Don't if you announce one.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: If anything, if anything gets announced that's new, it's just like, hey,
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: for example, like my my thought is this new ray
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: movie the announced years ago. I don't think that's happening.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: I think they're just gonna make that part of the
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: new trilogy they're working on, because that makes sense.
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: I I just want them to let it die. I'm
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: sorry at this point, let it die.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: I let it.
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: But even if it's dead, just tell us, just be like, hey,
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: we're doing this. Okay, great, cool, thank you, because now
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: we don't have to talk about this on podcasts or
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: like what ifs anymore. It's done. Not that not that
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: they not again, not that they owe us anything, but again,
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: when you literally go on these giant stages.
- 1:15:19Speaker 4: Go hi, everybody, we're doing this movie.
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: And then nothing nothing, yeah, nothing when again, but when
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: Marvel announces shit, it's like, oh wait, that already came
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: out again. The only copy they have against them is
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: the Blade movie. That's really it. That's it is the
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: where's the Blade movie? I don't know? Okay, great are
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: you guys? Is it canceled? No, we're gonna work on it. Okay,
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: it's been six years now, we'll figure it out. Okay, great,
- 1:15:52Speaker 2: but again that's one movie compared to let's see You
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: carry the four anyway, I'm going there for a little bit.
- 1:16:03Speaker 4: Because you're tight. So that's my final thought.
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: Just you need it. But yeah, if you, if you,
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: whatever you do next, ra, it's gab you a home run,
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: even if it's just announcing updates. Because anything I I say,
- 1:16:18Speaker 2: I am in the mindset you have to be patient
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: with flowning them because it can take them a while
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: to like figure out where they're going and what they're
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: gonna do and stuff like that, because that's the one
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: they'll give Kathleen credit for. Okay. In her error exit
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: like interviews, she sentially did with like depress is there's
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: these projects. Taikas handed in the script, Glover handed in
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: the script and rightfully so she said, we'll see if
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: they want to continue on with it, because she's right,
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: that's not her decision anymore. Great cool and then if
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: because and it's a good things also she because it's
- 1:16:48Speaker 2: like it kind of puts the ball in their court
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: where it's all of a sudden they go, yeah, i'ant
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: not do the tyke of movie people gonna go why
- 1:16:53Speaker 2: mm hmm, which you're not. You're more and so it's
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: like like you don't want it, which is totally fine.
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: But I say they don't want to do the James
- 1:16:59Speaker 2: Mangle thing. Everyone can go why why would you want
- 1:17:06Speaker 2: to do the og Jedi story? We need to know this,
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: so just but also be patient. And I said, urger,
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: I say it to the fans, all right, do you
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: have anything you want to say before we get out
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: of here?
