- 0:51production. Welcome to 70x80, the section of
- 0:557080 .it that deepens the topics dealt with on
- 0:59the portal. I'm with the journalist Enzo Mauri,
- 1:02who introduces today's topic. Good morning, today
- 1:04I'm talking to you about a 60s comic. Many will
- 1:08remember the wolf Pugachov and his funny Russian
- 1:10-Macaronian phrase with the words that ended
- 1:13in "-off", "-eff", "-oschi", "-aschi". In the
- 1:1560s, in the middle of the Cold War, he became
- 1:17the protagonist of a series of satirical stories
- 1:19and comics with a social background. Pugachov
- 1:21appeared for the first time in The Wolf of the
- 1:24Steppe, comic book number 10 of the Cucciolo
- 1:26column published by Edizioni Alpe in 1959. At
- 1:30the debut it was a classic four -legged dog,
- 1:32unable to speak, adopted by Cucciolo and Beppe.
- 1:35Pugaciov was born from the wise pencil of the
- 1:38Milanese Giorgio Ribuffi, the same creator among
- 1:40many of Tiramolla and the same Cucciolo and Beppe.
- 1:43The origins of the character had in some way
- 1:46historical -political implications. It is said,
- 1:49in fact, that to inspire Pugachev was a figure
- 1:52really existed in the Seventh Century, such Emelian
- 1:55Ivanovich Pugachev, Italianized into Emiliano
- 1:58Pugachev, nothing less than a claimant to the
- 2:00throne of the Russian Empire and the leader of
- 2:02the Cossack Revolution. A Cossack of the Don
- 2:05called Ivan Ilya presents the Pugachev wolf to
- 2:08Cucciolo and Beppe, who adopt him as a guard
- 2:10dog. The simple wolf -dog becomes in time an
- 2:13anthropomorphic being, able to speak a characteristic
- 2:15language imitated by the readers of the time.
- 2:18Pugachov was irascible and devoured by an atavistic
- 2:21hunger, it is probable that his creator, Giorgio
- 2:23Rebuffi, lover of good food, wanted to transfer
- 2:26this passion of his into him, as well as the
- 2:28spirit of rebellion towards the bourgeoisie represented
- 2:31by the figure of the fat bastard Bombarda. Other
- 2:34enemies, the Japanese dog Gigoro -Kane, expert
- 2:36in martial arts, and the industrial scoundrel
- 2:39Grifagno Sparagno. Bombarda, accompanied by his
- 2:42trusted partner who, by chance, is called Sausage,
- 2:44represents the number one goal of Pugachov, who
- 2:46would like to eat it raw and cooked. Terrorized
- 2:50and rich, he is defended by a squire named Geraldo
- 2:54who keeps in the pool of his house. Given the
- 2:56success of the character, the Alpe editions decided
- 2:58to publish in 1963 a first volume entitled The
- 3:03Adventures of Pugachov, which re -proposed in
- 3:05chronological order the first six appearances
- 3:07of the character until 1963. operation repeated
- 3:11the following year and in 1965. In the following
- 3:15years, three volumes of Pugaccioff were re -published
- 3:18several times, the fifth of a second series,
- 3:20which proposed stories already appeared on Cucciolo,
- 3:23came out in 1969 without the covers of the muffins
- 3:26that in the meantime had left the Alps editions.
- 3:29The comic had a good follow -up also in France.
- 3:31After the closure of the Alps editions in 1987,
- 3:35the wolf Pugaccioff continued to live on other
- 3:37publications, including albi di tiramolla dei
- 3:40fratelli ballardi editore. Nel 2011 venne pubblicato
- 3:43un nuovo cofanetto di nove volumi e 1800 pagine,
- 3:47seguito dall 'antologia edita da Sbam, con le
- 3:49avventure degli anni 60 e 70. Qualche tempo fa
- 3:53l 'orchestra Byram ha realizzato una canzone
- 3:55dedicata in perfetto stile russo, anzi russosso.
