- 0:10Speaker 1: Hey, what's going on? Everybody? Welcome into another edition of
- 0:13Speaker 1: to check O Daily.
- 0:14Speaker 2: It is Andrew de Checko, Eagles beat reporter for Inside
- 0:17Speaker 2: the Birds dot com. Make sure you check out the
- 0:20Speaker 2: latest Inside the Birds podcast with myself and Adam Kaplan,
- 0:25Speaker 2: and be sure to check out my story on Inside
- 0:27Speaker 2: the Birds dot com. They came out Thursday morning, where
- 0:30Speaker 2: I put a spotlight on Brett Toth and his leadership
- 0:34Speaker 2: behind the scenes. I spoke to Brett about it. I
- 0:37Speaker 2: also spoke to a couple of younger linemen that he
- 0:40Speaker 2: sort of mentored and they forged a pretty good bond.
- 0:43Speaker 2: It's a great story and I think that you'll all
- 0:47Speaker 2: enjoy it, and it's something that doesn't always you know,
- 0:49Speaker 2: a lot on the outside probably aren't privy to, but
- 0:52Speaker 2: I wanted to make sure that I spotlighted it because
- 0:54Speaker 2: I felt that it was important. And the Eagles on Thursday,
- 1:00Speaker 2: they had their second practice of the week leading up
- 1:03Speaker 2: to Eagles Dallas, And for those who don't know, typically
- 1:06Speaker 2: Thursday practices are their most intense and you're always keeping
- 1:10Speaker 2: an eye on the injury report and seeing the different designations.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Now the final not the final, but the.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Official injury report came out today and it had some
- 1:21Speaker 2: favorable news in terms of the status of Cam Jurgens,
- 1:27Speaker 2: the Eagle center who missed Wednesday's practice with a concussion.
- 1:31Speaker 2: He was listed as limited as he's working his way
- 1:34Speaker 2: through the protocol full go tackle, Miles Hinton, back guard,
- 1:39Speaker 2: center Willie Lampkin knee ankle, and outside linebacker Jaln Phillips shoulder.
- 1:43Speaker 2: Remember on Wednesday, the first day of the week, Jalen
- 1:48Speaker 2: Phillips was listed as limited with the shoulder, so great
- 1:50Speaker 2: news there and then not practicing today unsurprisingly Lane Johnson
- 1:56Speaker 2: with the foot injury.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Lane Johnson, of course, is is likely. I mean he's
- 2:01Speaker 1: going to be headed for injury.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Reserve, So that's going to free up a roster spot,
- 2:04Speaker 2: and I would imagine that you can expect Miles Hinton,
- 2:08Speaker 2: the rookie tackle who was had his twenty one day
- 2:12Speaker 2: practice window open earlier in the week, to be activated
- 2:16Speaker 2: to the fifty three. But we'll have to wait and
- 2:18Speaker 2: see what they choose to do with that spot. That
- 2:21Speaker 2: would be the most likely course of action, and it
- 2:24Speaker 2: feels like that's a later in the weak decision that
- 2:26Speaker 2: the Eagles are going to make, inevitably.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Having to put Lane Johnson on injury reserve.
- 2:30Speaker 2: So Thursday's practice it's the longest practice that we're able
- 2:35Speaker 2: to be out there for as the media and I
- 2:40Speaker 2: like to always set the scene because after the Eagles
- 2:43Speaker 2: go through warm ups, the offensive line go to a
- 2:46Speaker 2: second practice.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Field on the near field.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Right when you walk in, that's where you always see
- 2:51Speaker 2: the punt returners on one half of the field fielding punts,
- 2:55Speaker 2: and then on the other side of that field is
- 2:58Speaker 2: where Eagles defensive backs. Past game coordinator Christian Parker works
- 3:03Speaker 2: with the two primary corners and in this case, they
- 3:07Speaker 2: added a third corner, so they had Quinjon Mitchell, Dori Jackson,
- 3:12Speaker 2: and Brandon Johnson, who is a nickel slash safety and
- 3:17Speaker 2: he's on the practice squad, has some upside. I like
- 3:20Speaker 2: his game and he's somebody who's been on the practice
- 3:24Speaker 2: squad since week one. So the three of them were
- 3:26Speaker 2: working on certain drills agility, tracking the football. And while
- 3:31Speaker 2: that's all taking place, you have other defensive backs like
- 3:34Speaker 2: Jacry and Bennett and Keeley Ringo, Michael Carter. They're working
- 3:38Speaker 2: on the special teams portion, which is going on on
- 3:40Speaker 2: a far field, and the punt returner Xavier Gibson, Johan Dottson,
- 3:45Speaker 2: Britain Covey, Qus Watkins, and Cooper dejen are all fielding punts,
- 3:50Speaker 2: taking turns.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Then at some point during their.
- 3:55Speaker 2: While they're fielding punts, they'll take a stab at catching
- 3:59Speaker 2: two punts, or they'll throw one in the air and
- 4:01Speaker 2: catch the other one, and it focuses on just being
- 4:06Speaker 2: able to track the football. And when you have so
- 4:11Speaker 2: many different things coming at you as a punt returner,
- 4:13Speaker 2: you have eleven players tracking down the field and it's
- 4:17Speaker 2: easy to lose sight of the football. So they do
- 4:19Speaker 2: different things to really fixate on paying attention to the
- 4:23Speaker 2: ball and I discipline and all those things.
- 4:26Speaker 1: So I think that that's.
- 4:29Speaker 2: It's always fascinating for me to watch those punt returners work.
- 4:33Speaker 2: And then on the other field is where I focus
- 4:36Speaker 2: most of my attention with the offensive line, and that's
- 4:40Speaker 2: where we wanted to see Cam Jurgens. And Cam Jurgens
- 4:44Speaker 2: is still wearing a hefty brace on his right knee,
- 4:47Speaker 2: but he was taking the first team reps at center
- 4:50Speaker 2: and at least and again this is all for the
- 4:54Speaker 2: media attended portion of practice, so this is what we observed,
- 4:57Speaker 2: and Cam Jurgens was there working and Fred Johnson was
- 5:02Speaker 2: the next player that I really wanted to hone in
- 5:04Speaker 2: on because he's going to be starting now and he
- 5:07Speaker 2: was working alongside Tyler Stein. That's the new right side
- 5:10Speaker 2: the Eagles offensive line for the time being, and it was,
- 5:15Speaker 2: you know, Fred Johnson is a massive offensive lineman to
- 5:21Speaker 2: set to see you guys all see it on TV,
- 5:23Speaker 2: but you know he's out there.
- 5:25Speaker 1: He brought some juice, some energy, some power.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Working alongside Tyler Stein during individual drills. And then there
- 5:33Speaker 2: was also a point where Matt Pryor flanked Fred Johnson,
- 5:38Speaker 2: and then you had Tyler Stein, Fred Johnson and Matt
- 5:41Speaker 2: Pryor and that's the you know, the jumbo package that
- 5:46Speaker 2: they were kind of repping. And in my story that
- 5:49Speaker 2: I referenced earlier where I talk about Brett Toth and
- 5:52Speaker 2: his leadership, he talks about Drew Kendall and Jake Majors
- 5:57Speaker 2: servicing the starters and how they do a good job. Takes,
- 6:00Speaker 2: you know, someone who's selfless and truly a team guy
- 6:04Speaker 2: to be able to accept that role and not only
- 6:07Speaker 2: accept it, but really emerge and embrace yourself in that role.
- 6:13Speaker 2: And they hold the bags, the pads, whatever, you want
- 6:17Speaker 2: to call them while you know the first and second
- 6:20Speaker 2: team lineman really are able to tee off and go
- 6:23Speaker 2: through the drills.
- 6:24Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean, that's that's the.
- 6:28Speaker 2: That's the synopsis of what Thursday practices entail.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Hey, it's Jeff Mosher. And if you have a family

- 9:13Speaker 1: And then you know the locker room.
- 9:15Speaker 2: I thought it was a good, solid locker room day
- 9:18Speaker 2: and aj Brown spoke Jay. When Carter spoke, I was
- 9:23Speaker 2: talking to a number of different players because I've always
- 9:26Speaker 2: been someone that I like to spread awareness to charities
- 9:32Speaker 2: and things like that, because a lot of these guys
- 9:36Speaker 2: do so many good.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Things out in the community.
- 9:39Speaker 2: And for this week, this Sunday, you have the might
- 9:42Speaker 2: cause my cleats and a lot of the different players
- 9:45Speaker 2: are supporting different charities, and I wanted to talk to
- 9:48Speaker 2: different guys about why they were so passionate about that,
- 9:52Speaker 2: where maybe that was derived from.
- 9:54Speaker 1: And I thought that was kind of cool.
- 9:57Speaker 2: So I spoke to Michael Carter, Booke, to Zach Bond,
- 10:01Speaker 2: Jahied Campbell, Noan Smith, braden Man.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I feel like I'm forgetting.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Xavier Gibson, and yeah, I thought that they it really
- 10:15Speaker 2: sheds light on the charities and why it means so
- 10:20Speaker 2: much to them.
- 10:20Speaker 1: And so when you go out there and.
- 10:22Speaker 2: You see the game on Sunday and you see the cleats,
- 10:24Speaker 2: you'll have a story to a company, you know the
- 10:27Speaker 2: meaning behind it. So I thought that that was really
- 10:30Speaker 2: really cool, something you know, unique to do you don't
- 10:35Speaker 2: it's such a short window we're able to kind of
- 10:37Speaker 2: put a spotlight on that, and I wanted to take
- 10:39Speaker 2: the opportunity to do that because it is important, at
- 10:42Speaker 2: least to me, to be able to to kind of
- 10:45Speaker 2: put that messaging out there, because, like I said, so
- 10:49Speaker 2: many of these guys do great things out there in
- 10:51Speaker 2: the community and it doesn't always get the recognized it
- 10:57Speaker 2: doesn't get the widespread recognition I should that I think
- 11:00Speaker 2: that it warrants and look, this is going to be
- 11:03Speaker 2: a really big game for the Eagles coming up on Sunday,
- 11:06Speaker 2: traveling to AT and T Stadium.
- 11:08Speaker 1: You can expect a raucous crowd.
- 11:09Speaker 2: I'm really fascinated to watch the new look Cowboys defense
- 11:14Speaker 2: with five different players in there. I think the player
- 11:17Speaker 2: to watch, and it kind of goes without saying, is
- 11:21Speaker 2: Quinn Williams the newly acquired defensive tackle. Look, you can
- 11:25Speaker 2: say it's the Cowboys, you can say this or that.
- 11:28Speaker 1: You can say they got rid.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Of Michael Parr, all that Quinn Williams is a really
- 11:32Speaker 2: good football player, regardless of who he's playing for, and
- 11:36Speaker 2: he has a tendency to wreak havoc. So I'll be
- 11:39Speaker 2: certainly really intrigued to see how that matchup unfolds. But
- 11:45Speaker 2: there's a lot of really good matchups. George Pickens is
- 11:50Speaker 2: playing phenomenal football right now, one of the best receivers
- 11:54Speaker 2: in the NFL, and the Cowboys are using him a
- 11:57Speaker 2: bit differently than the Steelers did. Their optimized his ability
- 12:00Speaker 2: to be a three level threat, not necessarily a deep
- 12:04Speaker 2: deep ball guy, solely a go ball guy like he
- 12:07Speaker 2: was in Pittsburgh. He has a much more well rounded
- 12:11Speaker 2: route Tree, and I think because of that, you're able
- 12:14Speaker 2: to see his talent shine through, and that's going to
- 12:18Speaker 2: be a really challenging task for the Eagles secondary to
- 12:22Speaker 2: keep him Ceedee Lamb Jake Ferguson the tight end, who
- 12:26Speaker 2: I think is pretty underrated in check, which is why
- 12:29Speaker 2: the pressure up front is going to be paramount in
- 12:32Speaker 2: this game because Dak Prescott is also playing some really
- 12:35Speaker 2: good football.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 12:40Speaker 3: long lines, We've all been there, But when it comes
- 12:43Speaker 3: to your cannabis, Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is
- 12:48Speaker 3: the dispensary for sports fans, just minutes outside of Philly,

- 13:28Speaker 3: Camed in apothecarry top quality cannabis, great prices, and an
- 13:32Speaker 3: experience made for Philly fans. Twenty one and up.
- 13:36Speaker 2: By the way, Dak Prescott, he was on Wednesday's injury report.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I believe all indications are that he's definitively going to
- 13:42Speaker 2: play Sunday. He suffered an injury Monday Monday night, but
- 13:49Speaker 2: he's not missing this game, so this is going to
- 13:52Speaker 2: be a relatively healthy, clean game. Now we'll see what
- 13:57Speaker 2: happens with Cam Jurgens and how that all transpires with
- 14:00Speaker 2: the rest of the week, but the Eagles will be
- 14:02Speaker 2: back on the practice field Friday at twelve thirty ish.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Nick Sirianni speaks in the morning, and then there's the
- 14:10Speaker 2: final round of locker Room. I will have all that
- 14:12Speaker 2: coverage for you as I always do, right here on
- 14:15Speaker 2: to Checho Daily and you'll have the pregame show with
- 14:19Speaker 2: Adam Jeff and Greg Cosel. So plenty of coverage on
- 14:22Speaker 2: the way still on the inside the Birds platform, but
- 14:27Speaker 2: for now this has been to check Odaily. I am
- 14:29Speaker 2: Andrew de Checko and I'll catch you on the next one.
