- 0:02And now,
- 0:06the mob guys Craig Coglianese
- 0:09and
- 0:12Wayne Dolcefino,
- 0:31We are the mob guys. I am Craig Coglianese.
- 0:35He is Wayne Dolcefino. We are thrilled to be with you every single morning,
- 0:40Monday through Friday from 7 to 9 o 'clock.
- 0:41We will not be at Wings Over Houston, but the Amigos will be there on Friday.
- 0:47We actually also have a couple of tickets left to give away.
- 0:51So I don't know if you want to do that.
- 0:52Now we can just do it for like the fifth caller who calls in to Russell right now
- 0:56and we find out who that winner is or we can hold him.
- 0:59I'll let Wayne decide. Why the fifth caller?
- 1:00I like to not do like the second, you know what I mean?
- 1:03And I also don't, I used to be a producer, so I don't like to do like the 11th.
- 1:07Because the 11th seems mean to Russell, the second seems mean to anybody trying
- 1:11to win the ticket. Well if it's mean to Russell then let's go with the 29th
- 1:14caller. No if it's mean to Russell let's just do caller number one.
- 1:19I could be caller number one. I don't know that's how I've always done it man
- 1:22because I used to produce and if you ever had I'll call this person because
- 1:26they're imaginary and not either one of us a jerk of a host who's like let's do
- 1:29the 15th or 20th caller then you got to like run through those phones and that
- 1:34sucks I don't want to do that. Did you just lie?
- 1:37No I always told the truth. I always told the truth there.
- 1:41How many tickets do we have? We have a set of tickets.
- 1:44So it's two tickets to Wings Over Houston for the 52nd call.
- 1:48No, I'm kidding. The third caller to KSEV Radio.
- 1:52Let's do that. So we have decided on the third caller.
- 1:55Yeah, that's fine. The third caller that calls in right now to the main call -in
- 1:58line for KSEV Radio has a chance to get the two tickets to Wings Over Houston.
- 2:03281 -558 -5738, 281 -558 -5738.
- 2:08You don't get another prize, but you get bonus points if you also wanna come on
- 2:12the air and talk to us about something.
- 2:14If you just wanna win the tickets, fine.
- 2:16But maybe you can also have a KSEV t -shirt if you come on the air, then we'll do
- 2:20both. Wow, I don't even have a KSEV t -shirt.
- 2:22You don't? I have a ton of them just open in this box next to me over here.
- 2:26Do you know one? I don't have one.
- 2:27Sure. Okay, it's just a t, you don't wear a lot of t -shirts.
- 2:30You're not a t -shirt guy. You know, you were in my house at night.
- 2:33I mean, I wear a t -shirt and long johns with cigarette burns in it.
- 2:38You're a suit jacket guy. You're a collared shirt guy from what I'm...
- 2:41You're doing it today because I'm a professional.
- 2:43I got you. Because the difference between me and you is that I am dressed for...
- 2:48...New York, and you are dressed, like, to talk on the radio.
- 2:52I've been in radio since I was 20, man.
- 2:55Without regard for the fact that people watch us, too.
- 2:58So there is a... I don't... I think the Galveston shirt's okay today, right?
- 3:02It's very nice. Thank you. Look at how nice you were just there.
- 3:06You were going to tell me the truth and then you didn't go that road.
- 3:09It's fine. We do have a clip that we want to play.
- 3:13The clip is of Mike Waltz, and I think Mike Waltz does an amazing job of saying
- 3:18and doing things that some other people don't say and do that have jobs like
- 3:22Mike's. And what I think is really interesting probably about this clip, if I'm
- 3:26being honest, is that But the person who probably got the target of this,
- 3:32the person that he was saying, whoa, dude, back up, leave me alone, probably
- 3:36didn't expect this reaction at all.
- 3:38But we can go ahead and play this.
- 3:39And he was the Cuban foreign minister.
- 3:42Yes, he was a Cuban diplomat who was coming up and trying to yell at our
- 3:46politician and our politicians like, you shut your mouth when you're talking to
- 3:49me, which I thought was pretty great.
- 3:50Here we go. I have tried to listen to you to this political prison.
- 3:55Wait, was that the end of it? Was that the whole thing?
- 3:57where is the end of it i think held up and i'll ask ever
- 4:03you back up ambassador back away this isn't
- 4:08i'm suspecting the mid -day i'm going to attend i'm spending this meeting
- 4:12understand who you're dealing with this is america backup the rule is clear
- 4:18this is the substance of the speech there are no procedural you can bring the
- 4:22meeting is expanded please sit down The meeting is suspended.
- 4:26He's awesome. I think Mike Walt is great in how he handled that.
- 4:29I really, really like that. Back up.
- 4:31Yeah, back up. You back yourself up right now.
- 4:33Back off. Yeah, this isn't Havana, this is America.
- 4:36Right. Look, I like public officials who defend
- 4:42America. Me too. And that's why when I see Abdul in
- 4:47Michigan, right, not being able to figure out who's worse, Israel
- 4:53or Iran, right, it was more dangerous.
- 4:57And I, the Israeli elections sort of reminded me that if we think we're
- 5:03screwed up in this country with two parties, that the number of parties
- 5:08that like either former government in Israel with the Arabs.
- 5:12Yes. Or you form a government with the real right wing, you know,
- 5:18religious Jews that, you know, do have visions of conquering
- 5:23territory. It's just an interesting dynamic when you have multiple parties.
- 5:28Sometimes I say to myself, we should have more than two parties, right?
- 5:32We should have like a Conservative Party and maybe a country club party and maybe
- 5:36a Democratic Party and maybe a Socialist Party, right?
- 5:41But once you start seeing how bizarre it is to try to put together
- 5:47coalitions of people like the far left or the far right, all these different
- 5:51combinations to try to form a government just seems so unworkable.
- 5:56Yeah, no, I agree with you. It does.
- 5:59But I wish that there was a way to find a middle ground party because I
- 6:04know you said there's like seven or eight.
- 6:08I just don't, I think it's more likely that we splinter, right?
- 6:12That it would be right way, moderate.
- 6:16Sorry, that's what they always say about the third candidate who runs
- 6:19occasionally is that they're set up by one party to hurt the other party because
- 6:22they're really like a lighter version of the Republican or the Democrat and not
- 6:26truly an independent. I don't think a lot of people who run, even Kanye West is
- 6:30an example, mostly agreed with stuff that Trump wanted to do when he's running
- 6:35for office and just a few things that he said that were insane and crazy that
- 6:39made him unelectable. But I really think that that's part of the problem is that
- 6:43instead of having a truly down -the -middle voice on a lot of issues, you have
- 6:48voices that are basically the sugar -free version of Republican or Democrat.
- 6:54But I, and people, you know, get mad at me for saying this sometimes, people on
- 6:59the right, but you know, politics is a game of addition,
- 7:05not subtraction. Sure. And while I may believe strongly in a lot
- 7:10of my conservative personal beliefs, I also understand we live in a
- 7:16country where we have to convince the people in the middle that
- 7:22our diehards are going to go out, right?
- 7:25Mostly a lot older to a certain degree, a lot of folks, nothing wrong with that.
- 7:29But the diehards are going to vote.
- 7:31It's the people in the middle. And that's why, you know, and it's hard to know
- 7:35what will happen, but the tune of the campaigns may backfire because I
- 7:41think there is a lot of people that just kind of want to chill on the nastiness
- 7:46a little bit. Let me ask you, I want to frame this question a different way.
- 7:50And I have no idea what you're going to say.
- 7:52I didn't prep you for this topic at all.
- 7:54Either do I. Here we go.
- 7:56So we had a caller yesterday that I like, his name's Joe.
- 7:59he called in and he said he doesn't want, you know, Democrats to win because they
- 8:03want to trans the kids. And then we had a caller today George, who made the same
- 8:07reference about transgender and kids.
- 8:09And I agree with them both that the left's version of a conversation on that
- 8:13topic is that a child can cognitively decide that their body should be medically
- 8:18changed. And that's insane. However, this is the part that's reframing the
- 8:23discussion. When you look it up as far as the data that's in this world, even
- 8:28today, even with the craziness of the left trying to encourage people to question
- 8:32whether or not they're born in the right body, 3 .3 % of youths between the age
- 8:37of 13 and 17 identify as transgender, 724 ,000 according to UCLA study.
- 8:43It's 2 .2 % of high school students that say they question whether or not they're
- 8:48transgender, even at those numbers, that amount of people is still relatively
- 8:53small. It's much larger than anyone medically would say it is for someone that
- 8:57might be born with body parts that don't match, you know, or have more whatever,
- 9:02whatever the thing is that Talarico was trying to say are the medical exceptions
- 9:05now, instead of the other four genders.
- 9:09But genuinely as a question, this topic is such a lightning rod in politics,
- 9:15and so unlikely to be an actual thing that most people experience in their day to
- 9:19day life on either side of it, because it's 3 % of children.
- 9:23Yeah, but but it's bigger than that.
- 9:25I know big bigger than that. I don't mean the number is I don't have any idea.
- 9:31I never had that issue growing up.
- 9:33Well, I was thinking to myself, you know, am I am I a chick?
- 9:36I never thought that right. But but and I don't really get it.
- 9:42But but I do think that it's a it's a representation of the cultural difference,
- 9:48right? It's sort of a sure it's a may call it cultural wars.
- 9:52I don't think it's a war because I think you're either like we either are what we
- 9:58were or we're becoming something that many of us don't want to be yeah And we
- 10:03don't want to be. And it's not because I hate anybody.
- 10:07Right. I just I don't understand because I did the stories that
- 10:13led to a change regarding women cheer people at schools.
- 10:19Right. And the men not being able to be in their rooms.
- 10:22I was the guy who did the stories in West Texas that led some of that.
- 10:25I it's not a close call to me. No, it's not a guy can't play in women's.
- 10:31I don't want a guy with a pee pee.
- 10:34Right. If I was my daughter in a locker room, that's not difficult.
- 10:37I agree with you. That's not the question I'm asking.
- 10:40I'm not asking about whether or not that is a defendable topic on the left
- 10:44because it's not. It's ridiculous.
- 10:45It's insane. This goes to the better question that I think we ask very often on
- 10:49the show through you, which is political messaging and if it lands in the middle.
- 10:53If only 3 % of children identify as transgender to begin with and you're someone
- 10:58in the middle and you don't have this experience in your life, you don't question
- 11:01your gender, your kids don't question your gender, is this topic hollow to you?
- 11:05Is this topic the kind of thing that you think maybe the right is overly
- 11:09projecting it or the left is being crazy about it?
- 11:11You just dismiss it and you look for something more relevant.
- 11:15Yeah, look, these are base elections, although the midterm this time is going to
- 11:20be much more than a base election because I think a lot of people are voting,
- 11:23whether they like Trump or don't like Trump.
- 11:25and that we're sort of stuck with that narrative.
- 11:29But I do think that we have to have a better message this
- 11:35time than trans and terrorists.
- 11:37That's what I know, I know. I've said that and I just believe it.
- 11:40Right, and so even if I'm not seeding any ground on the conversation that does
- 11:44matter, that is important, that is a thing that when the left talks about it I
- 11:49think is insane, I probably should also be talking about the thing that's
- 11:52affecting 70, 80 % of people and not just 3 % because when I focus on the 3 %
- 11:58issues I probably lose. We'll take a quick break, a lot more KSEV radio, the
- 12:03voice of...
- 12:10KSEV! As a voice of Texas, we are not giving you our off -air conversation
- 12:16on social media, but I thought it was pretty good just there.
- 12:19I am Craig Coglianese, he's Wayne Dolcefino.
- 12:21Well, we call ourselves the mob guys.
- 12:24And instead of criticizing, I'll turn up the volume for Wayne and his headphones.
- 12:28Instead of criticizing what we are talking about, it does seem to be valuable to
- 12:33also discuss the things that we think are being left off the table.
- 12:37Manufacturing is something that is coming back in large numbers because of
- 12:41President Trump, because of a push for this, to try to make this a solution to
- 12:45what inevitably will become an even bigger problem, as I think some gigs are
- 12:50going to go away. I think AI is going to take some jobs.
- 12:53I think there's going to be a lot of reasons that having more manufacturing in
- 12:55this country would be good, not just, you know, in general economically, but also
- 13:00from the standpoint of not being subject to being harmed by China or someone else
- 13:05if they don't like something we're doing in some sort of capacity where they're
- 13:09giving us stuff that we need. We need to be making it ourselves.
- 13:12But that is a conversation that's not really happening at all, Wayne.
- 13:16Yeah. I was talking about, you know, look, people are frustrated with prices.
- 13:21I do better than most folk, and I'm frustrated with prices and how expensive
- 13:26things are, right? You go for a nice dinner and it's like ridiculous.
- 13:31Yes. Right? So I get it. But we haven't told
- 13:36people, I would have started at the beginning of the year flooding social
- 13:42media with all the things that are better.
- 13:47The crime is down to like historic lows.
- 13:50The border. Fentanyl. We blew up some boats and the shipment of drugs
- 13:56has been dropped dramatically, which was killing tens of thousands of people.
- 14:02I would have been doing commercials with the mother of some kid who killed
- 14:06himself with fentanyl. I would have been doing snippets of the
- 14:12price of eggs. Remember when the Democrats were all about eggs, right?
- 14:16Sure. When eggs were stupid for a while.
- 14:18Yes. Well, the price of eggs has dropped, right?
- 14:21Remind people, Trump talks about all this manufacturing and investment, right?
- 14:26And I'll be honest with you, even as a guy who's fairly plugged in, the media
- 14:30doesn't show me the factory in dumb butt Nebraska, right?
- 14:36that they're building. And maybe they're not, right?
- 14:40Maybe it's all just a big, you know.
- 14:41I think they are. But I think they are too.
- 14:44And I just I don't know why rebuilding America isn't
- 14:50part of the messaging, remind people that, you know,
- 14:56these are all the things that have happened.
- 14:59The price of gas will come down one way or the other.
- 15:03And we just moved Patriot missile battery from Texas to the Middle East.
- 15:09I read and we're moving big planes to England.
- 15:15There's going to be one mirror over the other.
- 15:18This thing is going to come into your head here after the election.
- 15:21But there are so many good things that have happened.
- 15:24It's not perfect by any means. And we all know that.
- 15:28But there are stories to tell, economic stories to tell.
- 15:32Well, manufacturer jobs are up, right?
- 15:35We got rid of a lot of government fat.
- 15:37I don't hear that word. All I hear about is the poor government bureaucrats that
- 15:42were all making like $180 ,000 a year to push paper.
- 15:46Sure. I just don't see why we're not doing that.
- 15:49I don't know. And actually, I'm trying to find the manufacturing factory
- 15:52information right now as you're talking.
- 15:55And apparently, there's not a good list of it.
- 15:58There's not an easy way to do it.
- 16:00but the manufacturing industry has grown by tens of thousands of companies over
- 16:05the last year or two. So that seems good.
- 16:07You would see that. People are spending money.
- 16:09Yeah. I mean, consumer confidence is up like 7 % over last month.
- 16:14The Atlanta Fed is talking about a GDP of like over 3, I think 3 .4%.
- 16:20That's great. That's good. Yes.
- 16:22And if we're turning the corner on it and these tariff disputes will be settled
- 16:28one way or the other but I think and I understand the political problem that it's
- 16:34created for Trump but what I think what he's trying to do is is play chess and
- 16:40not checkers sure and he but he doesn't know how to communicate it to a lot of
- 16:45people in the middle right who just get turned off by the snippets yeah of some
- 16:51offhand thing he says or jokes about right they don't cover the substance of
- 16:57anything he says No, and they don't want to and they love the fact that, and this
- 17:01is the problem because I like and I still like, even though it's becoming
- 17:06somewhat, you know, you've seen this movie before for a lot of Republicans, I
- 17:10still enjoy the stuff Trump says that is thought of to be the most outlandish,
- 17:14the most disrespectful. Like I still find it funny personally and I laugh at it.
- 17:18However, I guess I would also say that the left loves the fact that he does that
- 17:23because it allows them to make that the entirety of the point.
- 17:26You said this the other day about one of the last speeches that Trump gave.
- 17:31I think this was last week, so, or maybe it was Monday.
- 17:35So there's only a few left that are going to happen before people vote on
- 17:37Tuesday, if you haven't voted already.
- 17:40And they summarized it by playing a minute of audio.
- 17:43And he spoke for over an hour. And they love the fact that they can do that.
- 17:47And they love the fact that their side responds to that.
- 17:50And they keep doing it to him. And it's, it's, go ahead.
- 17:53Look, I was just going to say, I just, I don't know what we're doing.
- 17:57The Democrats say, let's end the war.
- 17:59So what are we going to do? Just like pick up and pick our ships and say, the
- 18:03Strait of Hormuz is yours and keep gas prices high.
- 18:07I think the Democrats want high gas prices because it'll add to the, we need to
- 18:13have a bunch of windmills, right?
- 18:14I hate the windmills. I'm one of my biggest, I drive around the countryside now
- 18:19in Texas, I go all over the state and I see this like miles and miles and miles
- 18:24and windmills and it's not about alternative energy to me, it's just I don't like
- 18:28the look of giant white windmills.
- 18:31Yeah, well they also don't create a lot of energy.
- 18:33The other problem with the windmills is they're not really efficient.
- 18:37Yeah, and they rust. Right, and there's just a crap ton of them out there and
- 18:41yeah, it's not as valuable as they say.
- 18:43But I don't understand, I know James Talarico says he's now for like all the
- 18:48energy, whatever. But his comments about the oil and gas industry, I can't
- 18:53believe that a state like Texas, which has been uber
- 18:59successful and has been able to do a lot of things and give back property tax
- 19:04relief to people, is actually going to elect someone who
- 19:10fundamentally challenges the way most of us think.
- 19:16Just because they're mad. Look, I know people are mad about corruption.
- 19:20I think it's a problem. I do. I think the perception is a real problem for
- 19:25Republicans who still haven't proven to me at least recently that they can govern
- 19:29and that they can't, you know, someone can't keep their hands out of the cookie
- 19:33jar. And I think people are frustrated by that.
- 19:37They see people getting rich and they're not.
- 19:39Do you mean that at the federal level?
- 19:41Yeah. I think it's, I think, I think the Trump administration, and I'm getting
- 19:47into a specific, I'm just talking about a flavor, that they just seem like
- 19:52there's a lot of grifting going on.
- 19:53Yeah, there's a lot of people in the administration who are doing things that
- 19:57maybe Trump is not aware they're doing and that they shouldn't be doing.
- 20:00He does fire people. This did happen recently.
- 20:03When people get caught with that version of a thing like demonstrating that
- 20:07they're selling access to the White House, for example, they do get canned.
- 20:10So that's kind of nice, but maybe we're not finding as much of it as we should.
- 20:14I'm talking about perception. Sure.
- 20:16Well perception matters more than reality.
- 20:18People are really mad at rich people.
- 20:21Yeah, they are. And they shouldn't be, right?
- 20:24Because that's just success. But I get it.
- 20:28And you have to deal with the realities on the ground.
- 20:31Not what we think, but what the average Yahoo thinks.
- 20:35Sure. You're right about that. And there are a bunch more people now that are
- 20:37growing up in a world where they're told, if they try hard, they'll also be rich.
- 20:41And that's not true. A lot of people won't wind up being rich, and they don't
- 20:44seem to like that fact. All right, quick break, a lot more.
- 20:47The Voice of Texas, the Mob Guys, Wayne Dolcefino, Craig Coglianese, KSEV radio.
- 20:52KSEV radio. The voice of Texas.
- 20:55We are the Mob Guys. He is Wayne D 'Alchafino.
- 20:57I am Craig Coglianese's. We both stayed up too late watching baseball that we
- 21:01shouldn't have watched. So we're both kind of tired.
- 21:03Let's get to a phone call. We got Michael.
- 21:05He wants to talk about transgender stuff.
- 21:07Michael, what do you want to say?
- 21:09See, my whole thing is, is yes, the mutilating of children is horrible.
- 21:13Yes, that is a huge problem. But you're right, it's only 3 percent.
- 21:17But I think it's bigger than the 3 percent.
- 21:18Sure. My opinion, it's about keeping control of what they say towards
- 21:24children. I mean, they push an agenda on how your kids are supposed to be
- 21:30raised. And if you look, and they're trying to take away parental decisions.
- 21:36100%. And what parents can do. So it's bigger.
- 21:41Well, here, you know, what's happening with the 3%.
- 21:43I agree with you, Michael. But can't we have that conversation?
- 21:46Can't the thing that you and I just talked about be in addition to the other
- 21:50thing? Instead of having the quotable or the thing that the left can change to be
- 21:55something else or the stupid version of a discussion, let's have the full context
- 21:59of the problem. And I wholeheartedly agree that the left would like a teacher
- 22:05in a classroom to have more say over what a child does in their life than the own
- 22:10parents of the kid. If the parents don't agree with the teacher, the teacher's
- 22:14liberal and the parents are conservative, the teacher wants more control of those
- 22:18children and that's insane. But that's a more valuable discussion and one that
- 22:22affects far more families. Because I bet you there's a kid who goes to school
- 22:26wearing a hat that a teacher doesn't like.
- 22:28I think we've seen stories like this.
- 22:30Like some kid wore a MAGA hat to a classroom and it became a giant thing.
- 22:34And who cares? And if that same kid had worn like a Bernie Sanders shirt, I doubt
- 22:38anyone would have cared. I doubt anyone would have had this same reaction.
- 22:42So now you've added substance to the discussion that deserves to be there to
- 22:46begin with, in my opinion. I mean, the whole thing is that it's
- 22:52about training the next generation.
- 22:54Yes. They believe the way they want them to believe.
- 22:58Indoctrination. And by using the whole transgender thing where you have to be
- 23:01compassionate, well, then they're playing on people's beliefs in victimhood.
- 23:06100%. these children are victims.
- 23:08But I believe the bigger issue is about keeping a grip on how they
- 23:14decide what they teach our children and removing the parents from the equation.
- 23:20Amen. I couldn't agree with you more.
- 23:22I don't know if there's anything else you want to say.
- 23:24No. Okay. Thank you very much, Michael.
- 23:27I got to tell you, remember when Yunkin ran for governor of Virginia and all the
- 23:32school boys, they were making all those stupid COVID decisions and other
- 23:36nonsense, right? I think the education issue is the
- 23:41much better issue for Republicans, right?
- 23:46Because what the trans thing represents is a
- 23:50continued chipping away at what the values of this
- 23:56country were, right, and that a lot of people strongly
- 24:02believe it is going to be the ruination of us.
- 24:05If we keep going down this, you know, call it Sodom and Gomorrah path, whatever
- 24:09you want to call it, I don't care.
- 24:11And I think, but I think the better fight is education for Republicans.
- 24:16Well, I think, I think to use the example that Michael was kind of giving us in
- 24:19the phone call, I think that was the guy's name I've already forgot, but I think
- 24:22so. What What he said was the issues are connected.
- 24:26And what you're saying is the issues are connected.
- 24:28And it's true, but people don't draw that line well enough in a short sound bite
- 24:33to get people to understand the totality of it.
- 24:35So instead, you have these leftists who walk around saying, you know, the right
- 24:39is exaggerating and saying we're all trying to trans kids.
- 24:42When the reality is that what you're really trying to do is step in between the
- 24:46relationship of a mother and a father and their child and raise that child
- 24:51yourself with your values. And I went to school at a time when I think grade
- 24:56school, high school, college, all of it was getting even more extremely liberal.
- 25:01I feel like my brain was jostled around multiple times.
- 25:04And I especially remember a college course I took where I wound up arguing with
- 25:08the professor in front of the classroom.
- 25:10I think it was an English class, but like it was a very political discussion.
- 25:14And like most of the classroom wanted me to shut up and move on, but I thought it
- 25:17was really important that the thing the teacher was saying was definitively
- 25:20untrue and bias and all that other crap.
- 25:24And it's just the world we live in now.
- 25:26And I think that that is the more valuable discussion that could win over people
- 25:30in the middle. That's what I totally agree.
- 25:33I think education and the indoctrination of our children from middle
- 25:39school to elementary school to college, colleges and universities around the
- 25:44country is the biggest threat in a lot of ways.
- 25:49I mean, the politics should not be in the classroom, Right, but but it infects
- 25:54the classroom I saw some video where where teacher was like sort of pretending to
- 25:58shoot at a Trump image, right? In a classroom, right?
- 26:02Really? We are what are we teaching these kids about work ethic about
- 26:08values? Yeah And sure, are there some really crappy parents out there?
- 26:13Absolutely, right? But it's their kids.
- 26:16They're right and I believe that We ought to be a party that
- 26:21celebrates families. Yes. You know, the Trump money for the kids,
- 26:27the kid in America's... Yeah, that's not bad.
- 26:30... Trump plan. I don't know why we're not...
- 26:32It's all negative, negative, negative and nothing, positive, positive, positive
- 26:37that reminds people, oh, that's right.
- 26:39Well... He's done this. The other thing I'll say, and I don't mean to sound like
- 26:43a weak person in saying this, it's just simply, oh, thanks buddy.
- 26:46You don't even know what I'm going to say yet.
- 26:48But it's just simply true. If you've ever dealt with someone that is sure you're
- 26:52a piece of crap, like, and you probably have, I have, you walk into a room and
- 26:56they're just, they're just so sure that you are the most horrible monster that
- 27:01they've ever been around in their entire life.
- 27:03And you say anything compassionate, even if it's still fully reflects your views,
- 27:07you don't have to like agree with them.
- 27:09You know, I don't have to pretend I think they're smart if they're an idiot.
- 27:12But if you say anything compassionate within your response to something, it
- 27:17disarms somebody, somebody who wants to fight you struggles more, it's to kill
- 27:21them with kindness thing, they struggle more to do that.
- 27:23If you can find an eloquent way to not back off any of your beliefs and stances,
- 27:29and still come off differently.
- 27:30I think it's the Marco Rubio thing that you talk about a lot too.
- 27:33On this show, Wayne, there are people that can do that better than others.
- 27:37And there is a moment for that when you when you eventually need to pull back and
- 27:41find a different path to the same discussion, Because you can't change your views
- 27:46and change your beliefs to make someone happy with you.
- 27:49That's surrender. That's horrible.
- 27:50That's wrong. We can't do that.
- 27:52But there has to be a way to do something that's slightly different, that still
- 27:57says what you believe, but says it differently and makes it harder to argue with.
- 28:00And I think part of this discussion on this segment has demonstrated that,
- 28:04because we went from the simple snippet they're trying to trans the kids, which
- 28:08is a way for the to try to overly vilify the right into something about much more
- 28:14than just trying to convince a kid that's confused that he's transgender and his
- 28:17body should be changed, but actually also step in the middle of a relationship
- 28:20that's important and change the way that a kid is raised from how their parents
- 28:24want them to be raised. Yeah, I think there's a much better way to message it.
- 28:30Right. And that's just one example.
- 28:32I understand with certain bases, certain base voters, you know, who don't think
- 28:36about the complexity of the issue, right?
- 28:39And that what the trans thing represents to people is a failure of our education
- 28:43system, where teachers are deciding to call Johnny Sally without
- 28:49asking their parents. To be honest, that's the whole LGBTQ thing.
- 28:54When you see the classroom that's full of rainbows and the teacher who might be
- 29:00gay themselves teaching the class, you know that they're going to be injected
- 29:04with a whole bunch of political opinion, because there's a political fight right
- 29:07now. And to be honest, a lot of conservatives don't care who you are in your own
- 29:11personal life. I don't care. An adult person be whoever you want to be.
- 29:15But I don't want you to stand in the classroom and think that you're doing a
- 29:18social justice warrior fight by turning every discussion you can into something
- 29:22political and not something that actually is relevant to like a five year old or
- 29:2710 year old trying to learn math.
- 29:29Just teach them math would be great.
- 29:31And don't teach them the rest. I think that this is one of several conversations
- 29:34we could do this way though. It's not just this one.
- 29:38When you go back to the manufacturing jobs in the economy, there's so many ways
- 29:41to embrace what conservatives are saying that makes us all wealthier, that makes
- 29:45us all happier. I'm not saying everybody will be rich.
- 29:48But people would be doing better.
- 29:50And that doesn't happen because instead the left wins over some people with the
- 29:54stupid argument of give us the money and we promise we'll give it to you.
- 29:59Instead of go make more of it, we'll give you more opportunities, more places to
- 30:03do it. The left literally says we're going to take it and then we promise you'll
- 30:08get it back. And we never get it back.
- 30:10In fact, we get less of it than we even wanted in other ways.
- 30:13And I don't know why that's a better message than what the right says, that we
- 30:17want to create more opportunities for wealth in your individual life through
- 30:20things like bringing manufacturing back to this country.
- 30:24Yeah, look, people are frustrated about prices, but again, we're turning the
- 30:27corner. I think it's pretty clear we're turning the corner.
- 30:31I think there was a reason Trump used that Venezuelan ship with a million barrels
- 30:37of oil under it or whatever as an example to say, look, we're going to fix this
- 30:42gas thing one way or the other.
- 30:44Maybe it'll take another six months.
- 30:46It's not a forever war. You know, there's not anybody shooting at each other
- 30:50right now, but but that's gonna happen after the election I think we all know
- 30:54that yes, like because we really don't have any choice anymore Right either
- 30:58either the Iranians work a deal with us And allow us to make sure and get
- 31:04the uranium out of there or or we let them You know enrich uranium up to
- 31:093 % nothing more and kind of kind of deal that similar to the
- 31:15Obama deal but better? Yeah, well because...
- 31:18That's a win. Well, because they were enriching uranium up to 60 percent, even
- 31:21though they were supposed to be keeping it way beyond that, way below that, and
- 31:25they were getting very close to the 90 percent threshold to make a nuclear
- 31:28weapon. That's not an opinion. That's an actual fact that's out there in the
- 31:33world, whether or not people think it's true or not.
- 31:36And so I think the more important thing is just taking it away.
- 31:39Like, as much as we can, take all that stuff away that they've successfully
- 31:42created. Like we have to win definitively with Iran.
- 31:47Yeah. I know you believe that too.
- 31:49And I know that I think that'll happen in the very near future with more military
- 31:53strikes that will be the way to make it happen.
- 31:55But we are turning the corner. We are.
- 31:57And I think the economic numbers show we're turning a corner.
- 32:02Like people's confidence is up.
- 32:05Yeah. People are spending a crap load of money.
- 32:07They're expecting like a trillion dollars worth of like delivery stuff.
- 32:12this year, the post office is, I mean, the post office is doing well.
- 32:16We are doing well in so many ways.
- 32:19Yeah. But I don't hear it. I don't, I don't see that as at least part of the
- 32:24messaging. It's all negative. That's true.
- 32:27That's true. And it's working. The other thing is that it's working because we,
- 32:31we could be talking about races beyond Texas right now, where it is shocking that
- 32:35people are in dogfights. It's shocking that some Republican politicians aren't
- 32:39running away with, you know, certain wins in other parts of the country, places
- 32:43where we've never really seen a struggle as significant as we're seeing it,
- 32:47including in Texas. And so I think that part of it in this moment, as much as it
- 32:53might sound weak to some, is accepting the reality of the situation we're
- 32:57currently in, which is the message isn't winning over enough people anymore.
- 33:00They're either not going to vote or they're not voting the right way.
- 33:04Yeah, and we've really got to fix that.
- 33:06And look, I know Republicans are going to try it out on election day and they'll
- 33:09be all day. I'll be there. The hand -wringing will be for naught.
- 33:12But I think we also have to save people in place for a long time and people get
- 33:18tired of anybody. That's true. They do.
- 33:20All right, we've got to take a break.
- 33:21A lot more. A little segment left.
- 33:23One last segment left in the Voice of Texas, KSEV and the Mob Guys.
- 33:27Back with you after this. KSEV radio.
- 33:30Voice of Texas, Wayne Dolcefino, Craig Coglianese, thrilled to be with you.
- 33:35We are the mob guys. Let's get to Mike.
- 33:38Mike has called in. I think it's a different Mike than before.
- 33:40What do you want to say?
- 33:43Well, I agree with what you said about Iran can't have a nuclear weapon.
- 33:47And it has to be. And I agree with everybody on that.
- 33:51I don't so much agree with the Strait of Hormuz.
- 33:54It's not an issue. I'd say you're more of a European issue, but it does affect
- 33:58our gas prices. But with that with that said, Diesel is like 650
- 34:04a gallon in the Midwest and like Kansas, Ohio, other places.
- 34:09And that's hurting farmers, hurting truck drivers.
- 34:12These are Republican voters. They may just set it out, you know, and if they set
- 34:17it out, we lose Kansas and we lose Iowa, the Senate is gone.
- 34:21There'll be another, there won't be another federal judge appointed for the next
- 34:25two years, the budget, the president will not get his defense budget.
- 34:31It just won't happen. So there's - Let me talk about something with you, Mike, on
- 34:35this. The logic of sitting it out.
- 34:37I actually want to discuss that because I know Wayne and I have talked about that
- 34:40before, and I'm not saying that you yourself are saying you're going to sit it
- 34:44out, but the people that do choosing to do that causes things to get worse, not
- 34:49better because you're letting the side in that's going to make it even more
- 34:53challenging. The left is not like oil and gas, not a fan.
- 34:58So if they get back into power, like when Biden was in power, they will do things
- 35:02to disrupt that industry before or after we get out of the fight with Iran.
- 35:07So gas prices will not go down and they will not stay down during a democratic
- 35:11rule. So if I was a truck driver, I would vote to protect the likelihood of
- 35:16things going down in the future, as opposed to them staying up.
- 35:20But I don't know if that's how everybody thinks.
- 35:23Well, I've already voted. I voted to trade Republican.
- 35:26But like I said, there's other people, these are blue collar type workers.
- 35:31I'm not. I'm a white collar. And those type of workers live paycheck to
- 35:37paycheck, most of them. And I think it's, you can see it in the polls.
- 35:44Now you may disagree with me, but I think there's a real indication here.
- 35:49we're going to lose the Senate and we shouldn't.
- 35:52But it may happen. You know, it's too hard to flip the coin to be honest.
- 35:57And if we lose the Senate, the administration, if we lose the Senate, the
- 36:03administration, like I said, judges, the budget, the military spending to
- 36:07continue with the wrong is dead.
- 36:09Let's just be honest, it's dead.
- 36:11Absolutely.
- 36:13Absolutely. That's all I want to say.
- 36:14Fair enough. Thank you, Mike. He's absolutely right.
- 36:18And that's why there's so much more on the ballot than whether or not you love
- 36:22Donald Trump. Because Donald Trump is not on the ballot as much, but they
- 36:28made it about Trump when it should be about ideas and the future.
- 36:34Do you really want to go back to the people that raised your taxes, who voted
- 36:40against tax cuts. Forget that the rich people got away, but regular folks
- 36:45saved thousands because of that.
- 36:48It would cost people thousands of dollars more a year if the
- 36:54Democrats had won those votes. I don't understand,
- 37:00like I always go back to Harris County, I don't the life of me understand why
- 37:05people are going to elect the people who just raised taxes 41
- 37:11% in the last three years. Whose budget is up 41 %?
- 37:17I don't understand it. I don't understand people voting against their own
- 37:22financial self -interest. Sure, you're frustrated, but going back
- 37:28to the people that help create the mess that you're trying to fix is just dumb
- 37:33to. Right. Well, and going to people who are likely to make it worse, because the
- 37:37thing is, if the left is claiming that if they were in power, we'd never be in a
- 37:41fight with Iran, it does not mean our gas prices would just inherently be lower.
- 37:45That's not how that works, because when Biden was in office, he literally
- 37:49campaigned on going after that industry.
- 37:51And then he did it for the first couple of years.
- 37:52Executive orders and whatnot caused pain for oil and gas.
- 37:56And what did they do? They stopped gaining as much, they stopped creating as much
- 38:00product. And when they stop creating as much product, things get more expensive.
- 38:03Now there's a restriction, a restraint on product that we don't even really use.
- 38:07To Mike's point, this is a Europe problem more than an us problem, but it's
- 38:11hurting us and hurting everybody.
- 38:13But it doesn't mean that it goes away because the other side takes over.
- 38:16We've seen this movie before, and we've seen it very recently.
- 38:20So that's, that's to your point with voting against your self interest.
- 38:24There's literally people who are voting to make things financially harder on
- 38:27themselves who think they're doing it for the opposite reason.
- 38:30They think they're making it better and they're doing exactly the other thing.
- 38:34Yeah, because they're more focused on whether Paxton's the perfect candidate than
- 38:38what Paxton will do if he's in the Senate, right?
- 38:43And, you know, that he will, I think we are going to be, we would be lockstep in
- 38:49voting. Yes. And voting record matters.
- 38:53And James Talarico is weird to me, but he seems like a friendly guy.
- 38:58You see videos his team puts out.
- 39:01He's always saying, hi, everybody.
- 39:02Talking to little kids, doing all the politician kind of stuff.
- 39:06He may be a better guy, like in terms of a nicer guy, whatever.
- 39:10But he's wrong for what this state is about.
- 39:15Yes, he is. I mean, just fundamentally wrong.
- 39:18Right. And I know I've joked about him, you know, we called him names, whatever,
- 39:24but folks need to get off their duff.
- 39:27And you're not sending a message, you know, if Republicans, if the Cornyn people
- 39:33stay you Right? And Talarico wins.
- 39:37The cornered people are going to regret that vote because they need to stop
- 39:41whining. Well, I want to say one other thing because I think we touched on it
- 39:44during the show and we only have a few minutes left.
- 39:46You were talking about political corruption in general and out of all the voices
- 39:50in Houston to listen to when it comes to political corruption, Wayne Dolcefino is
- 39:53probably one of the best ones because you've literally investigated a bunch of
- 39:56this stuff yourself for years. I do wonder though if whatever the problems are
- 40:01that could exist within the Trump administration, If there are people that are
- 40:05paying themselves somehow money the same way the left did before, a lot of the
- 40:10young people that I listen to that are on the right believe that allowing the
- 40:14left to win an election is similar to waking up the right.
- 40:19But I don't think that that's true.
- 40:20I think that this has been going on for too long.
- 40:23To them, it's their first or second election and they think, yeah, we're screwing
- 40:26the side that should have won and somehow that's helping us.
- 40:29But you're being an idiot because I don't think that goes away with anything
- 40:33other than handcuffs I think people need to be arrested for the things they do
- 40:38and people that Attempt to do them in the future need to have the fear of being
- 40:41arrested for that system to actually change Well, look, I know that the Justice
- 40:46Department is actively investigating Corey Lewandowski and all the DHS contracts
- 40:51Whether or not he was a boyfriend or not because you know, who okay Yeah.
- 40:56But the Trump administration is investigating people that
- 41:02were crooked. Yes. Now, whether the president makes a lot of stock trades or as
- 41:07people do is, to me, less important because he's investing in a lot of the same
- 41:12companies that every American invested.
- 41:14Well, he was rich before. Yeah, very.
- 41:18A little more than you. Yeah, a little more than me.
- 41:20Yeah, he was rich before. To be honest, Trump specifically is not someone that
- 41:23worries me as to how much richer he got because he didn't become rich because of
- 41:27politics. It's the people like AOC that go into the office with nothing that now
- 41:33are worth millions of dollars and you think to yourself how did that happen?
- 41:36How did that person become worth that much money?
- 41:38That's more confusing than someone who seems to have made it on their own.
- 41:42Did you see Yolanda Omar was out, did some ad where she was begging people for
- 41:46like five and ten bucks? I guess the Somalian thing is coming to an end.
- 41:50The Somalian... Well, she's gonna need some court money.
- 41:53She's gonna need some lawyer money.
- 41:54I think she already has criminal lawyers Yeah, it was she's sure she does I'm
- 41:58sure she does and she's she's paying a bunch of money to them because I think
- 42:01that's gonna get very messy for her very soon, but if the Dems take the Senate, I
- 42:05think one of my biggest fears is Is the two years of impeachment stuff because
- 42:11they will impeach the president sure they will impeach the defense secretary Yes,
- 42:14they'll vote straight. They'll all vote the same way, right?
- 42:18and I think that we'll have two years of just bitterness, ugliness, nastiness,
- 42:24and you know, Trump's going to be a lame duck after this election.
- 42:29One way. No, he will be. I mean, when, when, when there's no election anymore and
- 42:34you're not on the ballot, they're going to make Trump.
- 42:37Sure. Right. They're going to say the next person is another Trump and you got to
- 42:41figure out our next play. Sure.
- 42:43I agree with that. If that, I'm saying the will be is maybe we can still win the
- 42:47Senate. Part of me still, I'm not accepting fully that It's over.
- 42:51I'm not either. And I'm not trying to be a downer at all.
- 42:55I'm just saying that the consequences of it are terrible.
- 43:00Would have a lot of really bad effects.
- 43:03And I think judges, Mike is right.
- 43:05Judges is one of them. And honestly, part of the whole reason that we talk about
- 43:08this topic as often as we both do is because we hopefully motivate the people
- 43:11that are afraid of this stuff to go out and vote and stop it.
- 43:14Because that's what we need to do.
- 43:15Go out and vote and stop it. We'll end every show this week with that simple
- 43:18message. All right, that's it. Yeah, go vote.
- 43:20This is the mob guys. He's Wayne D 'Alchifino.
- 43:22I'm Craig Coglianese the voice of taxes.
- 43:24See you tomorrow
