Fort Wayne’s City Council just approved a $3.5 million upgrade for Oxford Street — the first phase will transform a nine-block stretch between Lafayette and Oliver Streets with wider sidewalks, new pedestrian signals, fresh asphalt, and 56 ornamental streetlights, all informed by feedback from 300 local users including Jeff Markley of a nearby nonprofit who praised the focus on safety.
