- 0:00My name is Terry Messenger and I am hey, hey, hey and welcome,
- 0:08welcome to Terry Messenger's Genius Zone.
- 0:14And you know, this is the place in the space where you are going
- 0:19to get your own free master class.
- 0:24Absolutely free. Hello and welcome to Edge Radio
- 1:09Australia. I'm Martine Shepherd.
- 1:11I'm filling in for the amazing Mr. Aaron Malloy.
- 1:14He's away for a couple of days. Got.
- 1:16More hair on his 80s hair back. And I'm here with the beautiful
- 1:21Terry Messenger. Hi, Terry.
- 1:24Hello. Well, I was gonna say, Aaron,
- 1:26you look pretty today. Well, you look gorgeous.
- 1:29I know I do, but you know, so there you go.
- 1:32As he would say, I know I do. Well, we're doing a Clayton's
- 1:37studio here today at Edge Radio. So we're not quite all
- 1:42professionally geared up with our, you know, our lives and
- 1:46everything and our usual thing. So we have to kind of shout, but
- 1:51if everybody can let us know if you can hear us and if you can
- 1:57see us, OK. And today's subject?
- 2:00Do you know what it's all about? I don't know if it's anything to
- 2:03do with stress that might be helpful for me today, I can tell
- 2:06you. I think the whole world needs
- 2:09it. Well, you know, we were at a
- 2:11festival of healing on the weekend, man.
- 2:15There, you know, are people out there that need this.
- 2:20They really, really need it. People suffering, right?
- 2:23And you know, there's a lot of suffering going on out in the
- 2:26world. And this is actually one,
- 2:29probably one of the most profound techniques that I use
- 2:33in NLP because it is one that actually can literally get to
- 2:39the root cause of trauma. It can get to the root cause of
- 2:44stress. It can get to the root cause of
- 2:45anything, Martin especially, and it can totally just blow it out
- 2:51of the water. So it is powerful.
- 2:53I've been using timeline therapy.
- 2:56That's what it is. Now they say that it was created
- 2:59by Ted James. OK, but the fact is that it
- 3:03comes and it derives from neuro linguistic programming.
- 3:08And you know whether it is, I will give some glory to the late
- 3:13Ted James, who was extremely, very clued up on NLP.
- 3:19I'm gonna. Have to look.
- 3:20That up later and yes, but timeline therapy, we all have a
- 3:25timeline. So you know when you get
- 3:28stressed out, when you feel like you're running out of time, Do
- 3:31you ever get that? A little bit today, a little
- 3:34bit. It's like, oh boy, you know,
- 3:37have you ever felt like that? And you know, when I'm talking
- 3:41to most people anyway, it usually always comes down to not
- 3:47enough time, not enough money. So time and money are the two
- 3:53biggest factors. Absolutely.
- 3:55And you know what happens, of course, is that the more
- 4:00stressed that we are, the less time seems to shrink.
- 4:05Yeah. And when we're in our genius
- 4:08zone, hence the name of the show, what happens is time.
- 4:13Expands. Because you know, and, and one
- 4:17of the things that I, I start off with when I'm teaching
- 4:20people about timelining is are you an on time person or a three
- 4:28time person? Yeah.
- 4:30Now let me let me just talk about this a little bit whether
- 4:34you're on time or three time and maybe you'll get to know the way
- 4:39you tick and the way others tick as well.
- 4:41Do you find this isn't 1 because we did this this on the
- 4:45weekends, this sort of what would you call it?
- 4:48Timeline, yeah, but. It, it was an experience.
- 4:50You have to go through it, yeah. And So what I found is there was
- 4:53different subjects that I found that were like threw me in front
- 4:57of me to different sides. And so that was really
- 5:00insightful because I could see that that in some things it was
- 5:03really flowing and other things that was like a little bit out
- 5:07or sideways so. That's really interesting.
- 5:10You should. Have.
- 5:11So was it just one thing in general?
- 5:13Yeah, different subjects. Yeah.
- 5:15Do you know what that tells me about you?
- 5:18That you have quite a lot of control over time and you don't
- 5:21even realize it? I do.
- 5:23So when and you say you flip, what what you're doing is you're
- 5:26flipping in and out of time, correct?
- 5:28And so for example, what if you flip at the wrong time?
- 5:32So that that's the thing. And I'm not saying that's what
- 5:35you do, no, but it's what a lot of us do depending on where we
- 5:40are in our brain, because when we are stressed, we're not
- 5:45through time, OK, we've suddenly jumped out.
- 5:49Now we're either, you know, if we're anxious, we tend to jump
- 5:53into the past and we're, you know, we're, we're actually, you
- 5:57know, can I just reinstate that? If we're anxious, we jump into
- 6:01the future. So we, we are thinking about
- 6:05what's going to happen and Oh my gosh.
- 6:08And we're not living in the now through time.
- 6:13We're living outside of time, which is on time, yes.
- 6:19And then if we are actually sinking low into an emotion like
- 6:25sadness, depression, anger even, we're usually reminiscing about
- 6:32something that's happened. So we're angry over something
- 6:35that someone said, which is usually in the past, even if it
- 6:38was 5 minutes ago or yesterday. Or we're reminiscing about
- 6:43something that's sad that's happened to us.
- 6:45So that is also when we're outside of time.
- 6:49So is that though because I find that it's good to recognize the
- 6:53feeling and emotion. Yeah, but don't stay stuck.
- 6:56In because that's where you know, you stay in that timeline
- 6:59back here and you're carrying that through like a big money
- 7:01footprint through each new day. You know, that's how I look at
- 7:05it. So you need to.
- 7:06Wash the day off. You need to put your feet in the
- 7:08bath. Yeah, scrub that off.
- 7:10Yes, scrub that stuff off. You know, get.
- 7:12The salt out man. You're allowed to roll around in
- 7:15the mud. Yeah.
- 7:16You know, in fact, what you just said is perfect.
- 7:19I'm actually saying this to my mother last night, that when I
- 7:23was doing a lot of the training, some of the people became more
- 7:27fanatic than I did. And I would have my students
- 7:31saying, no, Terry, you're not allowed to say that or you're
- 7:35not allowed to feel like that because that's negative.
- 7:37And it's like, well, you know. It's not negative.
- 7:39That's life, yeah, that's life. That's the reality.
- 7:43That's presenting in the experience that we're having
- 7:45here is physicality. Yeah, even though we are a
- 7:48spiritual being experiencing the the and the whole inter dynamics
- 7:53of those levels of consciousness in this vessel and how it
- 7:58affects the body. Yeah, it's part of the
- 7:59experience. You can't.
- 8:01That's why I said spiritual bypass and you can't do it.
- 8:03No. This is why this stuff is.
- 8:05Really powerful. You've got a feel to feel.
- 8:08Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:09You've got a feel to heal. Yeah.
- 8:10So, you know, if we, it's understanding about this, it's
- 8:14more about the power of being able to take control of your own
- 8:18life. Yeah.
- 8:19So for example, if we are feeling this, feeling this
- 8:23emotion, if it's anxiety, when we recognize that, hang on a
- 8:27minute, if I'm anxious, what does that anxiety feel like?
- 8:31OK, I'm nervous. Or, you know, there's a fear of
- 8:36failure or there's too much going on and it feels
- 8:40overwhelming. You've got to be able to unpack
- 8:43that. But by actually understanding
- 8:45that, hang on a minute, I'm not living in the now.
- 8:49I see you and I work quite similarly in the way that we
- 8:52like to get to the the root. Cause of the issue.
- 8:55For true healing to occur, yes. And so we use different
- 8:59techniques because most people don't know that.
- 9:01Yeah, absolutely. They are complementary.
- 9:04Very much so. And The thing is that our
- 9:07feelings are the guidance tool or the arrow that's pointing in
- 9:11the direction of where there's imbalance, which is what you're
- 9:13talking about. And so that's where you're
- 9:16saying with anxiety, you're stressing about the future and
- 9:19depression is the past. So that's saying that your
- 9:21arrows either pointed too far forward, too far back instead of
- 9:25being in this the arrow, right? I love it.
- 9:28Is that right? Oh my gosh, yay talking.
- 9:30Class today it's. Keeping me.
- 9:32It's keeping me on track because actually with the time and the
- 9:36timeline and you're talking arrows, right?
- 9:39So if you think of it like the hands on a clock exactly, you
- 9:43know, so you've got one hand, let's say, what is it, 6:00?
- 9:46Yeah. So one hand's going out that
- 9:48way, one's going behind us, so that is where we can control it.
- 9:53So if we're feeling something and we're going OK, we're
- 9:58allowed to feel it. What am I feeling OK?
- 10:00I'm anxious about something I'm going to be doing soon.
- 10:05And what's the worst thing now? A little trick.
- 10:08Would you like to know a little trick?
- 10:09I love all these little tricks. Little.
- 10:10Tricks. Yeah, tricks.
- 10:12Bring it on. So let's just say you've got
- 10:15something pending, yes, and you're anxious about it.
- 10:19So what you do, this is a manifestation trick, plus it
- 10:23helps with that anxiety. So you jump time.
- 10:27So what you do is you quantum like now if you come into one of
- 10:31our workshops, because we're going to do a workshop together
- 10:34and that's going to be really exciting to have the spiritual
- 10:38and all of the insightful stuff that this beautiful lady does.
- 10:42And we're going to kind of blend it together with this NLP stuff
- 10:45and it's going to be freaking amazing.
- 10:49So stay tuned for that or drop it in the comments.
- 10:52If you want to know more about it, we'll send you out the
- 10:56invitation. So the way we quantum leap is we
- 11:01go past that again. Yes.
- 11:03So let's just say have you got, I'm not going to ask you what it
- 11:07is, but have you got something? Unless you want to promote it,
- 11:09of course. Have you got something coming up
- 11:12in the future that you feel a bit of angst about or you're a
- 11:15bit unsure? Like you know how you had your
- 11:17daughter's wedding? Oh, yeah, that.
- 11:18Well, definitely last week. Yeah, yeah, that explains
- 11:21exactly what it was. It was the anxiety was probably
- 11:24not just through the roof, but it was like a rocket just.
- 11:28Well, that's what we. Want only that's.
- 11:30Happened now so we need to let that one so we're looking at
- 11:34something in the future so let's just say you're.
- 11:37Symposium. Symposium Symposium.
- 11:39This lady is doing a symposium. There's going to be 1 in Perth
- 11:45and there's going to be 1 in Victoria, Victoria.
- 11:49So if you want to know about that, drop it in the comments.
- 11:51She'll get back to you now. OK.
- 11:54So there's, yeah, of course, we're going to get a little bit
- 11:56of anxiety about that. How many people are going to
- 11:59come? You've got a lot of big, weak
- 12:02people that you're connecting with.
- 12:03You're doing a lot there. Yeah.
- 12:06So what we need to do is we need to ask you a couple of questions
- 12:11and that is that firstly, how do you want to feel?
- 12:15Like what would be the emotional feeling that you would feel
- 12:20knowing that it was an absolute blast.
- 12:23It was an absolute. Hit a success, yeah.
- 12:27Success story. OK, yeah, so.
- 12:28How would that feel? What would success feel like?
- 12:31Tell me about success. What?
- 12:32What would that feel like in your body?
- 12:34For me personally, not what other people might say, success.
- 12:37For me, it is about having people that are there that their
- 12:41hearts and souls are really aligned to what the subject
- 12:43matter is that there does. Like to be so aligned.
- 12:47So aligned. And I do think that there needs
- 12:50to be a certain volume of people to show that it has been fairly
- 12:54effective in reaching our target audience to invite them.
- 12:58And how will that attendees? So then you've got the, you've
- 13:01got great numbers, you're really impressed with that.
- 13:04How does that feel? That would make me feel to a
- 13:07point where I I have been given the opportunity.
- 13:11Now it's like a sense of empowerment to probably I.
- 13:14Love it. So aligned empowerment.
- 13:17But 2 is not good enough. We need one more.
- 13:19So when you think about this being a blast, you've got the
- 13:23numbers in the room, everyone's aligned, you know you're feeling
- 13:27powered. Outcome.
- 13:28Too. Yeah.
- 13:29What does that? Feel like.
- 13:30So for me, it would be that the outcome would be those that come
- 13:34to this symposium first in the world.
- 13:37Yay, go on and and Australia would be that people are going
- 13:42away more empowered themselves because they are armed with a
- 13:46lot more information, the truth, the facts, science and which for
- 13:49me that is like gifting them the the opportunity to then go and
- 13:54educate other people about it. Yeah.
- 13:56So that's it is. That a fulfilled.
- 13:58Piece Very joyful. Very.
- 14:00Which one would you choose? Just choose 1.
- 14:03Peaceful, joyful, fulfilled. Fulfilled.
- 14:06OK, so we have got the field empowered alignment.
- 14:11Yeah. So that's your recipe?
- 14:13Yes. So what we're gonna do is now
- 14:16that we know that that's what it's gonna be, we're gonna
- 14:19quantum jump. So what you'll do, we won't do
- 14:21it in the shower because it'll take too long.
- 14:23But what I would say we jump from here and we go directly
- 14:29onto the other side. So it's the next day.
- 14:32So you're waking up in the morning and I know you'll be
- 14:35able to do this, but you, you know, you wake up and you feel
- 14:41that, Oh my gosh, that alignment, that empowerment and
- 14:45that incredible. Was it fulfilled?
- 14:48What was the, IT was empowered, aligned and fulfilled feeling
- 14:54and you wake up and you just imagine that you're in that.
- 14:59And we just switch that on now. This is what we'll be doing in
- 15:02the workshop, right? So you'll get to experience
- 15:05this. I'll actually drop you down
- 15:08inside it, and then what happens is we bring you back.
- 15:13So what that does is it actually gives a message to your
- 15:18subconscious that you've already done it.
- 15:20Yes. So the subconscious, because the
- 15:22subconscious is what's running our emotions, right?
- 15:26So it switches it off, it goes, it's already done.
- 15:29It's a done deal. Yeah.
- 15:31So not only do you feel more composed, I mean, would that
- 15:35come in handy? Yeah.
- 15:37And that, I've got to be honest, that is a technique that I have
- 15:39to use. Especially last week I used it,
- 15:42Yeah. And for me, I had to bypass it
- 15:44by using music, music through this visualization because there
- 15:48was so many other stimulus. Yes, that was happening.
- 15:51Yeah, that I put on some meditation tracks.
- 15:53Yes. Music yeah and sort of help that
- 15:55bypass through that emotional connection like through that
- 15:59music going OK this makes me feel elevated it makes me feel
- 16:03this and these those were kind of the words that I was kind of
- 16:06thinking of it's like you know the success of this is you know
- 16:09governed by the authenticity so when I started doing that then I
- 16:12breathed back into it yes and just went this will be as it's
- 16:16meant to be because I know that the people involved are some
- 16:20authentic that are coming to this with the right heart soul
- 16:23and they are willing to learn so I just kind of went and.
- 16:26There you go. I mean, and, and it's amazing
- 16:29what happens when and you do do that.
- 16:32So that's a big elimination of stress.
- 16:34So if people are looking at anything, it could be small, it
- 16:38could be, oh, you're going to meet up with your mother-in-law.
- 16:39I'm I'm just saying like. Would that be stressful for
- 16:43people? No, but you know, I mean it
- 16:44could be that you have to face something or.
- 16:47Yeah, interviews all kinds of things.
- 16:49Yeah, an operation, it could be anything, right?
- 16:52Or a person that you don't want to see that suddenly you got to
- 16:55meet up with. Deal with them face to face.
- 16:57Yeah, yeah, and, and you jump time, you jump time and, and you
- 17:02and, and we'll teach you all about how to do that and really
- 17:06switch on the codes as well, because it's about a coded
- 17:09system. So it's, it's like the geometric
- 17:13coding system of your subconscious mind almost aligned
- 17:18with the God conscious, the Super conscious.
- 17:21And as far as you know, letting go of like trauma, I mean trauma
- 17:27is a big one. It's huge to work.
- 17:30What we do is we will take you back in the workshop between
- 17:36Martine and myself. You'll be given this amazing and
- 17:41incredible experience to be able to spiritually align with your
- 17:47goals and you know some of the problems that you may not
- 17:51realize you have, and Martine will be able to take you through
- 17:54that and identify them. And then we will literally take
- 18:00you back to that where the subconscious mind knows the
- 18:06first trauma was. So it's almost like a root, you
- 18:10know, like a root of a weed or a tree.
- 18:13You can't just pull it off at the top because it's going to
- 18:16grow again, right? So what you do is you go right
- 18:20down into the ground underneath and you pull that baby up, Yeah.
- 18:26Does that make sense? Absolutely, yeah.
- 18:29Now, do you want to read out these questions?
- 18:31Sure, Martin, because we we had some people come in from the
- 18:36community, but we're doing things a little different so.
- 18:39Just rolling with it today. Yeah, so we have Fiona.
- 18:43Hello, Fiona. Thank you for your question.
- 18:45Fiona from Sydney. I have a big, I have big issues
- 18:49with procrastination. I know it's caused by being
- 18:53overwhelmed. Do you have any quick NLP tips
- 18:57to help me take control and focus?
- 19:00That's a good one. Focus.
- 19:02Because once you refocus, that changes everything.
- 19:05Right? OK, I'm gonna hold on to this.
- 19:07Yeah. So if it goes off, we just go
- 19:09like that? Yeah.
- 19:10Look, procrastination is a behavior.
- 19:15So it's the behavior that comes after the energetic emotion.
- 19:22Yeah. So, you know, some people might,
- 19:26you know, drink a lot of alcohol or turn to drugs, or they might,
- 19:31you might be sabotaging themselves by doing things that
- 19:35they know, overeating or, you know, doing things against
- 19:40themselves. That's kind of like a behavior.
- 19:42Yeah. And we all do it.
- 19:44There's nobody that is free of this.
- 19:47So in case you're judging yourself, guys, don't judge.
- 19:50Yourself, we all do it because. You know, to the subconscious
- 19:54mind, it a habit is a habit. Yeah.
- 19:57And whether it's a really like you might think of it as the,
- 20:01you know, ultimate sin to something small that seems
- 20:06harmless, it's all the same. So the procrastination, believe
- 20:11it or not, Fiona is a way to protect you.
- 20:15OK, self preservation. So your subconscious mind, let's
- 20:22drink out gin and tonic. It's not, it's water.
- 20:26She's not on the heart, so I can't get her to do the happy
- 20:28hour with me. I miss you, Aaron.
- 20:31Look, if I had had some more food consumption today, I'd
- 20:35probably like line them up, but. She's keeping me on the straight
- 20:39and. Narrow.
- 20:39I'm gonna drive. Yeah, I mean, I could talk about
- 20:42that because alcohol has been something that, I mean, I, I
- 20:47don't like to think that anything's got control over me
- 20:51because that's really what an addiction is about, including
- 20:54procrastination. So procrastination is an
- 20:57addiction. You've learned to do that really
- 21:00well. And I would say, wow, you're
- 21:02really stylistic at it now. You know, it might be harmless
- 21:06to have a glass of wine every day, but when it starts to be
- 21:11every, every every day. Yeah.
- 21:13And then and then you find yourself looking for it.
- 21:18Yeah. And I have to admit that I kind
- 21:21of liked that whole thing about 5:00.
- 21:25You know, where's where's that little?
- 21:27Glass. It's my baby.
- 21:29But it was. It's all.
- 21:31I almost treated it like a reward.
- 21:33System treat. So, you know, I made, I made a
- 21:37little deal with myself that I would, I wouldn't drink alone.
- 21:44Oh boy. So basically, you know, even
- 21:48though on Saturday we, we came home because we're housemates
- 21:52now and we came home from the Festival of Healing and I
- 21:56thought, yes, let's have a celebration drink.
- 21:59Nah, she didn't want it. I still did.
- 22:03But it was Saturday. So listen to me making up all
- 22:05the excuses. It was Saturday, I was.
- 22:09With. I was with Martine.
- 22:12She was having alone. She I wasn't alone.
- 22:15Technically, I wasn't alone, right.
- 22:19She was having her little bevy, which was the cup of tea, cup of
- 22:22tea. So tea.
- 22:26But you know, let's talk about procrastination.
- 22:28So for me, just to give you an idea, Fiona.
- 22:32So I'm kind of using that glass of wine as a way to reward
- 22:37myself. Like it's, it's kind of like
- 22:40moving into the fun and variety because we all want to
- 22:45experience love and connection, a sense of importance, a sense
- 22:52of certainty. Yeah, to a certain degree and
- 22:55the opposite of certainty, which is a little bit of fun and
- 22:58variety. So we look for it so that wine
- 23:01is like my sense of fun and variety.
- 23:04And it doesn't necessarily mean that it's a good thing.
- 23:07Sometimes we will actually, actually do something that is
- 23:12for a good reason. And this is what I want you to
- 23:15really hear, Fiona, because the procrastination, you may know at
- 23:20a logical level that it's a negative, but that's not what
- 23:24your subconscious knows because your subconscious doesn't care
- 23:28about right or wrong. It just wants to protect you.
- 23:31I also feel that. If you like, for me, when you've
- 23:36talked about that and I have people say the same, it's like I
- 23:39just can't get motivated. It's like, OK, that's
- 23:40procrastination. How much of your day do you
- 23:42procrastinate? It's a proportion as well.
- 23:47So there's times where I find myself and I very rarely
- 23:50procrastinate. Trust me, I'll go straight into
- 23:53it. She's like a.
- 23:53Bull in a China. Shop I'm a warrior, so I'll just
- 23:57go like no, that's good, let's move along, let's go.
- 24:00But when I do procrastinate, that's self regulating and I've
- 24:04realized that about myself. It's about self regulation
- 24:08because my system is overwhelmed and I will procrastinate and
- 24:12I'll put things off for a certain time and to my system,
- 24:15yes, feels like it's back in better equilibrium.
- 24:19Nice. That's the word I try and use
- 24:21you. Know that?
- 24:22Yeah. And and use it as a tool.
- 24:24You use it as a tool. Use it as a tool.
- 24:27Yes. So change it around, change it
- 24:30around. I mean, obviously you've got
- 24:33that kind of emotional IQ of understanding, right?
- 24:39And we come to know that by learning it, and you've learned
- 24:43that along the way. And it's fair to say that the,
- 24:47you know, a person wouldn't necessarily understand that.
- 24:52Procrastination comes with a high intention as well.
- 24:57Yeah. So when you understand it, like
- 24:59Martin, then you can control it. So this is the question you need
- 25:04to ask yourself for what am I protecting myself because your
- 25:10subconscious mind. So for example, I had a person
- 25:13the other day that I was doing a coaching session with, and it
- 25:18was about failure. And they were concerned.
- 25:21They were they, they didn't want to move forward because they
- 25:25were protecting themselves from failing.
- 25:28Yeah, that's a really good reason, right?
- 25:29Yeah, that would that would kind of mine once we go failure is
- 25:33that it's like, what if I fail? It's like, what if this is a
- 25:36failure, this symposium, I'm like, how can it be a failure
- 25:39when I've actually done it? So The thing is, it was like
- 25:43changing mindset, going well when you do something,
- 25:47regardless of what the actual outcome was.
- 25:49I had to set new boundaries or what I felt like the outcome
- 25:53should be and go. Was that unrealistic?
- 25:56I'd set them too high. Yep.
- 25:58What is too low? So again, it's like being
- 26:01flexible enough to not put so much pressure on yourself.
- 26:04Exactly. And that I think that's a
- 26:06keyword. Take the pressure off, be kind
- 26:09to yourself and also understand that, you know, you know,
- 26:15failure because failure is such a big one.
- 26:18You know, Napoleon Hill said it like this.
- 26:21There's no such thing as failure.
- 26:22It's feedback. You know, you, you've got to
- 26:24fail forward. So, you know, if you're doing
- 26:27something for the first time, you know what is failure anyway?
- 26:32It's it's just your definition. And even if it did fail, what
- 26:37you've got to say is, well, now I have figured out, imagine
- 26:41Albert Einstein, you know, the guy that did the light act like,
- 26:44imagine if he gave up. Yes, How many times?
- 26:479999 times he figured out how not to make it work.
- 26:54Exactly. So I'm not saying that it's
- 26:56going to take you 9999 times and it won't, but let's just look at
- 27:02it as this is your higher purpose and higher, you know,
- 27:09potential of actually protecting you find out what it is and then
- 27:17see if you can replace it and say, you know what, I'm going to
- 27:20fail forward. Do you find?
- 27:22Also that if you like, for me, I set timelines of how long I'll
- 27:25let myself procrastinate. So my daughter does that now
- 27:29too, so they'll set it. They're like, I'll give myself
- 27:3225 minutes or half an hour or an hour to procrastinate.
- 27:35And once the alarm goes off. So it's like the alarm.
- 27:39Yeah. And for me, I'll actually have a
- 27:42different timeline. So like, I'll ask for a
- 27:45particular feeling timeline because I meditate.
- 27:47So I get that. My daughter uses alarms, and she
- 27:50has said that that has helped her so much in setting some good
- 27:55boundaries with herself. Can I change the language?
- 27:58That is gold that that's in fact, it's so gold.
- 28:01This is what I'm going to say. We're hitting the.
- 28:03Genius zone. Yeah, we are hitting and this is
- 28:06your genius zone. Everyone, whatever your emotion
- 28:09is, set a timer to it and say, you know what, I'm going to give
- 28:12myself until such and such a time.
- 28:15You know, you can do it with illness as well if you're
- 28:17totally. Yeah, OK, I'm going to give
- 28:18myself till 5:00 this afternoon. Boom.
- 28:21Well, that's already gone. So out of here.
- 28:24So are we going to have another question?
- 28:27Have we got time? We do OK.
- 28:29So we've got Brett from Florida. Hello over there beautiful USA.
- 28:35I'm obsessed with time. Oh gosh, you know I used to be
- 28:40able to relate to this. I have no no longer wear a
- 28:43watch. It freaks me out when my
- 28:45girlfriend runs late even though we arrive on time.
- 28:50Why does this stress me so much? Oh God, I can so relate.
- 28:54You sound like someone very very close to me, but I'm not going
- 28:58to mention my son in case. I get into my name anyway.
- 29:05Oh my word, have you been look, this this is a very common, this
- 29:10is actually a very common issue. So I'm going to see if I can
- 29:16relate to what you just said and get this right.
- 29:19So you time stresses you out. So if you are very similar to
- 29:25this person that I know, that means that you tend to be, you
- 29:31know, fretting if you think you're running late, but then
- 29:36somebody else that seems a lot more calmer and relaxed and
- 29:41chilled out freaks you out. But then you find out that you
- 29:46usually end up being on time any.
- 29:49OK, this is the total dynamics of me and my daughter.
- 29:52Oh my God. I'm always like, it's fine,
- 29:54don't stress. We'll get there when we get
- 29:56there. And that's the divine timing.
- 29:57But that's the right time. OK, it's all.
- 30:00Good. It's like we're not like 2
- 30:01hours. It was late.
- 30:01It's, you know, 5 minutes late is still on time.
- 30:05Exactly. So hey, guys, if you can relate
- 30:08to this, drop it down and I'm gonna tell you Brett, probably
- 30:14the way you operate and the way your partner operates.
- 30:19So this is this comes back to the on time in time and through
- 30:25time personality, yes, So you know, this is the weird part
- 30:30about it. You probably think and you, if
- 30:34you're anything like this other person I know, you probably even
- 30:37have arguments about who who actually is better with time
- 30:42than the other. And yet.
- 30:45Relationship issue, yeah. And yet I'm going to tell you
- 30:49something that's very, very ironic and that is that the
- 30:55chances are that your partner is better with time than you are.
- 30:59It's just that time freaks you out.
- 31:02So you are what we call a on time person.
- 31:08That means on time means that you've got to get this done,
- 31:11this done, this done, this done, this done and this time.
- 31:14So time is running past. OK, that's.
- 31:17How it's losing time. So you're literally you're.
- 31:20Literally, I, I actually use a metaphor like a tray.
- 31:26Yeah. And the train's running this way
- 31:28and you're, you're trying to jump in the carriage and.
- 31:32And that's sort of like an anxiety kind of a thing right
- 31:36now. Your partner is through time.
- 31:40So the interesting part is that I actually to train in timeline
- 31:46therapy, I actually used my son and my stepson as an example.
- 31:51And it actually epitomized myself often my husband because.
- 31:57Yeah, so there's a reflection. These are, you know, like
- 32:00myself, my son and Ian and his son.
- 32:04So, you know, the fact is that I, I don't know whether you can
- 32:09relate to this, Brett, but your partner is already sitting on
- 32:15the train. So the fact is that she is
- 32:19running through time. She time is inside of her, so
- 32:25she's not freaked out about it. And whilst you're probably
- 32:28having arguments, if you're anything like these people that
- 32:31I know where they're going, oh, he's hopeless with time or she's
- 32:34hopeless with time, but they've got it wrong.
- 32:36It's actually the other way around, unless the person is
- 32:41just. Behind time as.
- 32:42Well, you know, 3 hours, like that's just tardy.
- 32:45I know there's some people that do that.
- 32:47I mean, that's just that's in their own little bubble, but you
- 32:50know. When we're talking in terms of,
- 32:54you know, if it's within the time that yeah, you know, Kurt.
- 32:57Is 10 minutes either way? 10 minutes are they?
- 33:00Reckon 5 minutes and you're on time. 10 minutes to rubbish
- 33:04traffic in Perth. Traffic sucks.
- 33:07I'm sorry. It's got, it's got to be fair.
- 33:09So would you like a little cheap here?
- 33:12This is how you can manage it. So you know you're already doing
- 33:17it. I don't know whether you realize
- 33:19this or not, but you know how you talked about you.
- 33:22You're flipping time around, so sometimes you are running.
- 33:27Time is running through you. Depends what the subject gives
- 33:30out we're. On yeah.
- 33:31So you're probably through time right now.
- 33:34So we're probably sitting here. Very time, absolutely feeling
- 33:39forensic, very present. I do feel very present.
- 33:41OK, So you're present here now. However, before before we
- 33:45started say 15 to 20, I think 15.
- 33:48Timeline She. Was on time, out of time and she
- 33:51was all overtime. So what I.
- 33:52OK, So what I look at is not just time, but I'm looking
- 33:55dimensionality. Yeah.
- 33:57So there's things I'm having to deal with that are coming in the
- 34:00future that I have to do things to line up.
- 34:02Then there's things right now. Then there's things that are
- 34:03probably dealt with, should have done 2 days ago without a beyond
- 34:07my control. I'm like, what do I need to do
- 34:09to bring that up and realign it? That's how I'm looking like.
- 34:13Like a 360 yes. And remembering to breathe in
- 34:17all of that. Yes, because yes.
- 34:19And also also The thing is that you'll find that if you do hear
- 34:24something like when I was talking about timelining on the
- 34:27weekend, you'll pick it up so fast because of the work you
- 34:31already do. So if you, if you think of it
- 34:33like this, Brett, if you think of it like, OK, where do I need
- 34:37to be right now? Because I find that some people,
- 34:41if they are particularly, you know, on time people, so they're
- 34:46outside of time, time is not in them.
- 34:49It's very hard to get them present.
- 34:51They can seem very serious. They can seem always focused.
- 34:55On in their head. They're in their head.
- 34:57Racing. So you know what you do, I used
- 35:00to do this as a little trick. Some Some people people is is
- 35:08even even above above them them and and where where they're
- 35:10they're full full of of the the pressure pressure is is on on.
- 35:13but the way you perceive time is the way you feel so if you kind
- 35:18of start to think of it as a hands of a clock and you get the
- 35:22timeline and you pull it inside you and just go OK I'm here
- 35:28through time So if you kind of start to think of it as a hands
- 35:20of a clock and you get the timeline and you pull it inside
- 35:25you and just go, OK, I'm here through time, time through time.
- 35:31I'm moving through time right now.
- 35:34And then you can even shift the hands of the clock and see which
- 35:38one feels better. Like, does it feel better if
- 35:41it's, you know, your past is out there on your left and it's, you
- 35:45know, your future's on the right?
- 35:47Or is it better the other way where your past is behind you
- 35:51and your future is in front of you?
- 35:54So yeah, give it a crack. And that is actually the reason
- 35:59you're the on time person. Your partner is the three time
- 36:04person. Yeah.
- 36:05Have we got time for one more? We do, we actually do we're but
- 36:09us we're so productive keeping on task at all well.
- 36:14So we have the beautiful Genevieve.
- 36:15Thank you Genevieve from Perth. I'm not sure if this relates to
- 36:19time. Sure, it probably does, but I
- 36:22keep attracting the same kind of unhealthy relationships.
- 36:25Can timeline therapy really help with that?
- 36:28Oh. That's.
- 36:29A juicy. One, that is a very big one,
- 36:31Genevieve, you're in Perth, you're a Perthian.
- 36:34Get down to our workshop and let me enlighten you so we can talk,
- 36:39you know, through that. I think that was just the three
- 36:41questions from the community today.
- 36:43So all right, now firstly, the answer is 150,000% yeah, you can
- 36:53do something about that because you know, quite often you're
- 36:57treating your now partner as the one that you had two decades
- 37:04ago. And not all the time.
- 37:07Don't generalize. I don't want to generalize here,
- 37:10but quite often we get triggered.
- 37:12So we get triggered, they do something, they say something or
- 37:18something happens and it sets us off.
- 37:21But the reason that happens is because of the experience we had
- 37:26in our past. And quite often it's not even
- 37:29from our first boyfriend, girlfriend.
- 37:32Quite often it can be from a significant other, you know,
- 37:37family. Role modeling.
- 37:38A parent role. Model.
- 37:40Yeah, it it really. Yeah.
- 37:43So it comes back from and it's obviously around like when I was
- 37:50talking to somebody else, you know, when I was discussing
- 37:55like, how do you actually feel the word lonely and abandoned
- 37:59came up. And that's really a big one.
- 38:02I find loneliness and abandonment probably one of the
- 38:06most serious feelings that are really, you know, that if you
- 38:11are feeling them, you've got to get rid of it, right?
- 38:13Yeah. The other one that's a really
- 38:15popular 1. And I was famous for this one.
- 38:18I was really good at it. That's shame and guilt.
- 38:21Wow. You know, and, and you know, the
- 38:23shame and the guilt, actually, I found that that came from my
- 38:28grandmother. Can you believe?
- 38:30And I actually, I worked it out. Yeah.
- 38:34I was when I was doing a master's training, I went
- 38:38through a timeline session and I and I found, Speaking of trains,
- 38:44goodness me, I ended up on a train in my timeline and I
- 38:49realized I was my grandmother when she was 15 years old, who
- 38:54was actually carrying a lot of shame.
- 38:57Oh, so you're talking about, we're talking about ancestral
- 39:00DNA? Ancestral lineage, yeah.
- 39:04So yeah, yeah. So it can go back before
- 39:07because. Before you would even.
- 39:08Say our grandmother's egg is planted in.
- 39:12We are inside our grandmother's. We are the Yeah, as a result of
- 39:16the grandmother's egg. Easy.
- 39:18So you can understand that DNA comes from that.
- 39:21So it travels down through so, so in terms of your
- 39:26relationships. So it could have happened way
- 39:29back. I'm, you know, sorry to say
- 39:31this, but it could have happened 7 generations ago where there
- 39:36was that element of being, you know, perhaps under captivity
- 39:42or, you know, in that kind of, you know, how in that captive
- 39:48entrapment, that kind of relationship, whatever that felt
- 39:53like. So it's up to our subconscious
- 39:56to carry that forward almost like a bat in a legacy.
- 39:59It is. So we've got to break that.
- 40:01We've got to break that baby. So when you are meeting with
- 40:05these people, one of the things we're going to get you to do is
- 40:11we're going to get you to meet with all of them, especially the
- 40:13significant ones, and say thank you because yeah, you.
- 40:18You've brought to me something powerful.
- 40:22Yeah. And you are part of my history.
- 40:24Yeah. You are part of my history.
- 40:27And you do not have to be a victim of your history.
- 40:30You can be a master of your destiny.
- 40:32I look at it as a tool of evolution.
- 40:34So it's the lesson that I'm gonna evolve from because this
- 40:37is where I say, you know, this is what the issue was.
- 40:40This is where I felt disrespected or I didn't have
- 40:43clear boundaries or I didn't have strong enough boundaries.
- 40:46That's like, OK, so because of that, that were the
- 40:49consequences. Then it made me feel degraded or
- 40:51not appreciated. And then I was like, well, the
- 40:55only way I'm going to feel appreciated is to do the remedy
- 40:57of that and look at that and go, great, listen, thanks very much.
- 41:00I'm not dwelling on it though. Exactly, no point.
- 41:03Exactly. So these people, so the
- 41:05relationships that you've had in your lifetime, what we would do
- 41:10in the workshop. So put your name down because
- 41:13you're in Perth. Genevieve will let you know is
- 41:17that we would be looking at 3 structures because it is a
- 41:21structure, absolutely a structure of time.
- 41:24It will be the most recent, hardest relationship.
- 41:29OK, Oh, she's taking a deep breath in.
- 41:32Oh, I'm not going to anchor that.
- 41:34No, no. I catched it before, but that
- 41:36was a good one, so I've got to go on the other side.
- 41:38OK, I'm happy to be OK. It's getting hot around here.
- 41:44OK, She's gonna need a drink. Half of this.
- 41:47That was my that was my tactic. No.
- 41:49So. All right, so you're gonna need
- 41:51the the recent one. You're gonna need anyone that
- 41:57was really bad throughout your life that comes up, and you're
- 42:01gonna need one from the earliest childhood, which you may or you
- 42:05may not know. So they're like that.
- 42:09It operates like walls, if you like, you know, weight bearing
- 42:13walls. Yeah.
- 42:14So, you know, in the house we're living in, we've got an
- 42:17upstairs. Like, if you take out the wrong
- 42:19walls, you got to be careful because, you know, we might get
- 42:24elephants falling through the roof.
- 42:27I'm just joking, But the ceiling might fall in.
- 42:30Yeah, OK. Absolutely.
- 42:32We've got mice and elephants in our house, by the way.
- 42:34So anyway, that was a private joke.
- 42:37She's laughing. So when you take out the weight
- 42:42bearing walls and the roof collapses, that's actually a
- 42:45good thing because it's a domino effect.
- 42:47Yeah. So it it.
- 42:50So that means then, however, this is the part I didn't teach
- 42:54us and this is the the stuff that I have done since learning
- 42:58all of this stuff. And that is that.
- 43:01And you would understand all about this.
- 43:03We've got it then. Input we've got to input the new
- 43:07recipe because we don't want to leave it open.
- 43:10No, because if we leave it open, then the next person that.
- 43:14Comes in like, oh, I think just did this, don't I as well?
- 43:17Yeah, no. That's when you can become
- 43:20specific about who you want in your.
- 43:22Life, absolutely. Wow, I'm loving this.
- 43:26And I think that learning of these tips about
- 43:30neurolinguistics, what you're saying about our language, our
- 43:33words, how powerful they are, that timeline, like I said, you
- 43:38know, people, it's great to be able to visualize.
- 43:41So if you're not a group great visualizer, actually learning
- 43:45some techniques and that because I know a lot of people that are
- 43:47really hard to do that. Yes, you're right.
- 43:49But I, I, I, I find that if you grab a pillow and say, OK, this
- 43:54is the issue is that there, where is that to the relative of
- 43:59the feeling? So there is that kind of way to
- 44:02help people learn those techniques.
- 44:03And that's why. When you come into our workshop,
- 44:07you're gonna, you're not just going to hear about this stuff,
- 44:10you're going to experience it. So if you're not in Perth and
- 44:16you're going, Oh my gosh, I want to be there, just let us know
- 44:20and we can definitely give you a link and you can attend
- 44:25virtually because we do that as well.
- 44:27So just like how we are now, you'll be involved and yeah, let
- 44:32us know. But yeah, I think that's that
- 44:35just about wraps up our shot it. Is so again, let's go back.
- 44:39I want to just to reiterate to people, stress, Yep, is one
- 44:44thing. Anxiety is about the future.
- 44:46Yes, depression and sadness is about the past.
- 44:50So it's about like kind of a grief process too, right?
- 44:53Letting go of that and you don't know how to complete that cycle.

- 45:02thing go boom. OK.

- 45:18can allow it to be out of control and negative.
- 45:20So where is your balance for your life to be successful?
- 45:24And that's why coming to learn all of these techniques, I think
- 45:27from beautiful Terry here. And then how we put that
- 45:31together as a workshop. I'm I'm intrigued by that.
- 45:34I can't wait. Can't wait indeed.
