- 8:45Let's talk tech.
- 8:47SailDrone has launched its first surveyor autonomous vessel, designed for Navy testing,
- 8:52marking a new era in ocean intelligence gathering.
- 8:56The SailDrone 3000, a 20-meter vessel with an aluminum hull, offers durability and cost
- 9:03effectiveness, differentiating it from its fiberglass and carbon predecessors.
- 9:10Chosen for its robustness, the aluminum hull enables mass production, addressing the scale
- 9:16limitations of composite production in the U.S.
- 9:21SailDrones vessels are key to collecting high-resolution ocean data, aiding in climate science, logistics,
- 9:28law enforcement, and military applications.
- 9:32The Navy sees these uncrewed vehicles, like the SailDrone Surveyor, as essential for freeing
- 9:38crewed vessels for other critical tasks, emphasizing their role in automated observation.
- 9:44While not intended for combat, these vessels contribute significantly to surface and undersea
- 9:51intelligence, including anti-submarine warfare, without being weaponized.
- 9:59And in entertainment news, Bob Iger, Disney's CEO, has signaled a major shift in Marvel's
- 10:06strategy, emphasizing quality over quantity for the MCU's future.
- 10:12During a Morgan Stanley conference, Iger revealed that Disney has already canceled some Marvel
- 10:18projects deemed not strong enough, prioritizing the franchise's integrity.
- 10:24Despite reductions in Marvel's film and TV output, Iger remains positive, expressing
- 10:30confidence in the team and the content being produced.
- 10:34Uncertainty looms over several anticipated Marvel TV series, with projects like Iron
- 10:40Heart and Armor Wars potentially at risk amid this strategic realignment.
- 10:46This move may affect the MCU's willingness to take creative risks, yet aims to ensure
- 10:51future offerings maintain high standards and engage audiences.
- 10:56Well, alrighty folks, it's time for the quote of the day.
- 11:02And today, to help us all through the dreary weather, here's some wise words from the
- 11:06great character in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Jess Spuckley.
- 11:12All I need are some tasty waves, cool buzz, and I'm fine.
