- 0:05Speaker 1: This is what the flux.
- 0:06Speaker 2: I'm bred justin and at Monday, the seventeenth of November,
- 0:09Speaker 2: holiday homeowners, your sandy toes are unnoticed.
- 0:12Speaker 1: According to the ATO. The ATO has worn that holiday
- 0:15Speaker 1: homeowners may be denied taxted actions if the property is
- 0:18Speaker 1: considered to be mainly for personal use. The main test
- 0:21Speaker 1: here is is it available to be rented out on
- 0:24Speaker 1: Easter or Charristmas? If those dates are mysteriously blocked out
- 0:27Speaker 1: every year, you might be in a bit of stripe.
- 0:29Speaker 2: The ahto is coming. Uh huh fox amm did you
- 0:31Speaker 2: know the average Australian splurges of forty four dollars a
- 0:34Speaker 2: week on impulse purchases and it's even worse during those
- 0:38Speaker 2: black Friday times like now. So if you want some
- 0:40Speaker 2: tips on how to say goodbye to impulse spending, we

- 0:50Speaker 1: Three fabulous stories today Juzzy Boy, Let's do it for
- 0:54Speaker 1: our first zero has seen It's half your profit jump
- 0:57Speaker 1: forty two percent, but it shares still drop nine percent
- 0:59Speaker 1: on this news. As investors worry about its big US push.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Forty two percent wasn't good enough for them? B Man,
- 1:05Speaker 2: someone checked the calculator batteries. Tell me more, all right?
- 1:08Speaker 1: So Zero is the cloud accounting software born in New
- 1:10Speaker 1: Zealand in two thousand and six.
- 1:12Speaker 2: And as you know, Zero went full cloud at a
- 1:14Speaker 2: time when its competitors were still selling cd ROMs.
- 1:17Speaker 1: In fact, Zero is now used by more than four
- 1:19Speaker 1: million small business owners worldwide.
- 1:21Speaker 2: And now Zero's announced they're half yearsults, with their after
- 1:24Speaker 2: tax profit up forty two percent to one hundred and
- 1:27Speaker 2: thirty five million New Zealand dollars.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Throw on top of that, its half yearly revenue was
- 1:30Speaker 1: up twenty percent to one point two billion New Zealand dollars.
- 1:33Speaker 2: But its share price still got hit with a nine
- 1:35Speaker 2: percent fall.
- 1:36Speaker 1: How does that work? Isn't accounting meant to be all
- 1:38Speaker 1: neat rows and tidy formulas?
- 1:40Speaker 2: Wellb Man. Investors are pretty nervous about Zero's seven hundred
- 1:44Speaker 2: million New Zealand dollar purchase of Millio, a six year
- 1:47Speaker 2: old US payment startup that is still unprofitable.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Throw on top of that, Zero's North American revenue also
- 1:52Speaker 1: missed forecast by over twenty percent.
- 1:55Speaker 2: But be Man. It seems like with this big acquisition,
- 1:57Speaker 2: Zero is throwing the kitchen sink and the office calculate
- 2:00Speaker 2: at making its US business work.
- 2:02Speaker 1: So what is the key learning here?
- 2:03Speaker 2: Big markets come with big opportunities, but also big expectations.
- 2:08Speaker 1: For Zero, the US is the biggest price they've got.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Which means every data point from that region carries extra weight.
- 2:14Speaker 1: So when North American half year revenue comes in twenty
- 2:17Speaker 1: million New Zealand dollars below expectations, it raises some concern
- 2:21Speaker 1: for investors.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it hints that the path to scale in the
- 2:23Speaker 2: US may be slower all more expensive than hoped.
- 2:26Speaker 1: And jesyboy Milio is still burning cash, which means it's
- 2:30Speaker 1: like that it hit Zero's famously juicy margins for a while.
- 2:32Speaker 2: So b Man, Zero investors want reassurance that it's US
- 2:35Speaker 2: momentum is building.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Quarter by quarter and not just becoming a drag on
- 2:39Speaker 1: the overall business. For our second story, Google has released
- 2:43Speaker 1: a huge batch of new AI shopping tools that are
- 2:46Speaker 1: planning to make online browsing experiences a little bit easier.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Nothing says the thoughtful Christmas presence like outsourcing your present
- 2:53Speaker 1: shopping to a robot tell me more.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Okay, So Google is obviously this search and adds giant
- 2:58Speaker 2: that basically powers half the Internet.
- 3:00Speaker 1: We'd be talking Google Search, Maps, Calendar, Gmail Translate, and
- 3:04Speaker 1: YouTube and Android, and don't forget Google Shopping.
- 3:07Speaker 2: In fact, they man Google shopping graph holds over fifty
- 3:10Speaker 2: billion product listings and updates two billion of them every
- 3:13Speaker 2: single hour.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Now Google has rolled out a series of new AI
- 3:17Speaker 1: powered shopping features. Google is leaning into what we like
- 3:19Speaker 1: to call a gentic AI that can actually do things
- 3:22Speaker 1: including buying stuff for you.
- 3:24Speaker 2: For example, be Man, The features let you track prices
- 3:27Speaker 2: of products and then auto buys the product once it's
- 3:29Speaker 2: in your price range and JH Boyd.
- 3:30Speaker 1: They've also rolled out an aiphone call feature.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it'll literally wrenk your local store and ask about
- 3:35Speaker 2: the stock, the prices, the promos.
- 3:37Speaker 1: And no surprises here. Google is adding sponsored listings to
- 3:41Speaker 1: its AI mode as well.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Even Santa has to make some money somehow, be Man.
- 3:45Speaker 1: But overall, Google is hoping that this AI mode will
- 3:48Speaker 1: shift the whole online shopping experience.
- 3:50Speaker 2: So what is the key learning here?
- 3:52Speaker 1: Shopping has shifted with every major technology wave, and now
- 3:55Speaker 1: AI is set to redefine it all over again.
- 3:57Speaker 2: You see, shopping in the twentieth and twenty first centuries
- 4:00Speaker 2: has gone through some major changes.
- 4:01Speaker 1: There was, and still is, the physical stores to purchase goods.
- 4:05Speaker 2: The touch, the smell, the impulse purchases you swear you
- 4:07Speaker 2: need it yep.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Then the online marketplaces began to grow rapidly and say
- 4:11Speaker 1: the late nineties and early two thousands during an e
- 4:13Speaker 1: commerce boom.
- 4:14Speaker 2: And now Google wants agentic shopping to become the future
- 4:18Speaker 2: of shopping online.
- 4:18Speaker 1: And juz boy. The global agentic ao market is projected
- 4:22Speaker 1: to grow rapidly over the next seven years.
- 4:23Speaker 2: In fact, it's currently at around seven billion US dollars
- 4:26Speaker 2: in twenty twenty five, but it's expected to get to
- 4:28Speaker 2: ninety three billion US dollars by twenty thirty two.
- 4:31Speaker 1: We're talking a compound and your growth rate of forty
- 4:33Speaker 1: four percent according to Markets and Markets Research.
- 4:35Speaker 2: And the man with Christmas shopping coming up, Google wants
- 4:38Speaker 2: its AI tools front end center right.
- 4:40Speaker 1: When consumers are buying.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Most For our third and final story, Visa has launched
- 4:45Speaker 2: a pilot program that allows businesses to pay using stable
- 4:49Speaker 2: coins directly into digital worlds.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Crypto making another comeback after another comeback, what's going on here?
- 4:55Speaker 2: We'll man Visa is the og payments company turning plastic
- 4:58Speaker 2: rectangles into global purchases since nineteen fifty eight.
- 5:01Speaker 1: That's right, Visa connect consumers and banks and businesses and
- 5:04Speaker 1: governments so people can pay for things electronically.
- 5:07Speaker 2: And Visa is in over two hundred countries and is
- 5:09Speaker 2: the sixteenth largest company by market cap in the world.
- 5:13Speaker 1: And now Visa has launched a new pilot program called
- 5:15Speaker 1: Visa Direct.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Basically, instead of using bank accounts, this Visa Direct program
- 5:19Speaker 2: allows businesses to pay directly to people using a US
- 5:23Speaker 2: dollar back to stable coin.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Which means gig workers and creators could get paid with
- 5:27Speaker 1: stable coins instead of traditional payment types.
- 5:29Speaker 2: And they man. The program's currently restricted to select partners,
- 5:32Speaker 2: but it will be expanded in twenty twenty six.
- 5:35Speaker 1: So what is the key learning here?
- 5:36Speaker 2: Stable Coins are a digital currency that's designed to hold
- 5:39Speaker 2: a steady value because they're pegged to a real currency
- 5:42Speaker 2: like the US dollar.
- 5:43Speaker 1: While cryptos like Bitcoin or etheroeum are more popular, they're
- 5:46Speaker 1: also way more volatile.
- 5:47Speaker 2: So the consistent pricing of stable coins makes them a
- 5:50Speaker 2: bit more practical for everyday transactions because the price doesn't
- 5:53Speaker 2: change each and every second looking at you Bitcoin.
- 5:56Speaker 1: And Jazzy Boy. Stable coins can offer a pretty good
- 5:58Speaker 1: way for people to store value in countries suffer from
- 6:00Speaker 1: a little bit of currency volatility or a poor banking infrastructure,
- 6:03Speaker 1: and Visa stepping in is a pretty big deal.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Yeah, lots of companies talk about crypto payments, but only
- 6:08Speaker 2: a few actually move money at visas scale.
- 6:11Speaker 1: In fact, Visa processes about four hundred million transactions per day.
- 6:15Speaker 2: So if anyone can nudge stable coins into the mainstream,
- 6:18Speaker 2: it's definitely Visa. Yeah, Fox am, if you've been caught
- 6:21Speaker 2: impulse spending during this Black Friday period, buying many things
