- 0:42Speaker 1: What's up, everybody. You're listening to the Philadelphia Sports Table
- 0:45Speaker 1: podcast show, the longest running weekly Philly sports podcast show
- 0:48Speaker 1: in the world, over twelve and a half years strong,
- 0:51Speaker 1: and we are closing out twenty twenty five here at
- 0:54Speaker 1: the PST Podcast Show. Don't worry, We're still gonna have
- 0:56Speaker 1: some more content coming your way towards the end of
- 0:59Speaker 1: the year, as we had into twenty twenty six. But
- 1:02Speaker 1: we wanted to go back into the vault of twenty
- 1:05Speaker 1: twenty five and really hone in on what really was
- 1:08Speaker 1: the most special moment for us Philadelphia sports fans, and
- 1:13Speaker 1: specifically for those of us who are Eagles fans, and
- 1:16Speaker 1: that is the Eagles winning the Super Bowl and absolutely
- 1:19Speaker 1: destroying the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of forty
- 1:23Speaker 1: to twenty two in Super Bowl forty nine. Yet, I've
- 1:26Speaker 1: been reflecting on this particular game in a lot of
- 1:29Speaker 1: different ways, whether it's the fact that Jalen Hurts was
- 1:32Speaker 1: the MVP of that game, and also the fact that
- 1:36Speaker 1: the Eagles really took the soul of the Kansas City Chiefs.
- 1:40Speaker 1: If you take a look at where the Kansas City
- 1:42Speaker 1: Chiefs are right now, not making the postseason in what
- 1:44Speaker 1: a decade here this season? When did it all really
- 1:49Speaker 1: start happening for them? When did it really all start
- 1:51Speaker 1: going downhill for them? Quite frankly, it was when the
- 1:54Speaker 1: Eagles really took their soul in Super Bowl forty nine,
- 1:58Speaker 1: again by a score of forty to twenty two. And
- 2:01Speaker 1: the score, really that twenty two points of the Kansas
- 2:04Speaker 1: City Chiefs really doesn't do it justice because the Chiefs
- 2:06Speaker 1: scored sixteen points in the fourth quarter in garbage time.
- 2:11Speaker 1: But again, what this second Super Bowl for US Eagles
- 2:15Speaker 1: fans really meant and really helps solidify with this Eagles
- 2:19Speaker 1: organization and franchise that they're serious contenders. That what Howie
- 2:25Speaker 1: Roseman has done to continue to build this team in
- 2:28Speaker 1: so many different ways, difficult decisions also having certain guys
- 2:32Speaker 1: leave the team after the Super Bowl win just based
- 2:36Speaker 1: on the level of contracts and dollar amount of contracts
- 2:40Speaker 1: that they would be getting. Lots of difficult decisions. But
- 2:43Speaker 1: the Eagles here this season, they're ten and five. Hasn't
- 2:46Speaker 1: been a perfect season by any stretch, but still one
- 2:50Speaker 1: of the most relevant teams in the NFL. So I've
- 2:53Speaker 1: been doing a lot of reflecting on what twenty twenty
- 2:56Speaker 1: five has meant to us in the world of Philly sports,
- 2:58Speaker 1: and really the Super Bowl win probably the greatest moment.
- 3:03Speaker 1: And we could take a look back at the Super Bowl.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts was seventeen to twenty two two hundred and
- 3:08Speaker 1: twenty one yards. He averaged ten yards per attempt. He
- 3:13Speaker 1: had two touchdowns in the game, one interception, He was
- 3:16Speaker 1: sacked twice, but he ended with a rating of one
- 3:18Speaker 1: hundred and nineteen point seven. And let's not forget that
- 3:21Speaker 1: he carried the ball eleven yards, I'm sorry, eleven times
- 3:25Speaker 1: for seventy two yards, averaged six point five yards per rush,
- 3:29Speaker 1: and he also had a touchdown in the Super Bowl
- 3:32Speaker 1: as well. And we saw Saquon Barkley take a bit
- 3:34Speaker 1: of a drop off in terms of his productivity considering
- 3:37Speaker 1: the season he had last year where he only averaged
- 3:40Speaker 1: two point three yards per carry on twenty five carries,
- 3:44Speaker 1: only fifty seven yards in that game. But Davonte Smith,
- 3:48Speaker 1: as we know, came up huge. He had five targets.
- 3:50Speaker 1: He came down with four balls in the Super Bowl
- 3:53Speaker 1: for sixty nine yards. He averaged seventeen point three yards
- 3:56Speaker 1: per reception. And we know and remember the dagger that
- 4:03Speaker 1: touchdown that Davonte Smith had that just sealed it all.
- 4:07Speaker 1: That amazing pass from Jalen Hurts to Defonte Smith put
- 4:11Speaker 1: it right in his hands right in the end zone,
- 4:13Speaker 1: an amazing touchdown. Let's not forget aj Brown's touchdown as well,
- 4:17Speaker 1: and his productivity in that game. He was also targeted
- 4:20Speaker 1: five times. He came down with three balls for forty
- 4:22Speaker 1: three yards. He averaged fourteen point three yards per reception,
- 4:26Speaker 1: and what a touchdown he had as well. There were
- 4:29Speaker 1: other contributors in that game, whether it was John Dotson
- 4:33Speaker 1: catching two balls, Sakwon Barkley caught six balls for forty
- 4:36Speaker 1: yards in that game as well. Dallas Goddard was targeted twice.
- 4:40Speaker 1: He came down with twenty seven yards total coming down
- 4:44Speaker 1: with those two catches of his But really, folks, this
- 4:50Speaker 1: was the greatest moment, in my opinion, in twenty twenty
- 4:53Speaker 1: five in the world of Philly sports, winning the Super Bowl,
- 4:57Speaker 1: the ultimate prize the NFL and the fact that the
- 5:02Speaker 1: Eagles are now on the precipice of heading back to
- 5:05Speaker 1: the playoffs. Can they do it again? Time will tell,
- 5:08Speaker 1: for sure. A lot of folks are saying no, they can't,
- 5:11Speaker 1: based on the way the offensive line is playing, based
- 5:14Speaker 1: on us at times, the way Jalen Hurts has played,
- 5:18Speaker 1: and whether or not this defense this season is able
- 5:23Speaker 1: to be the foundation for a potential Super Bowl run.
- 5:26Speaker 1: So with that being said, just wanted to replay this
- 5:30Speaker 1: Eagles postgame show with Eric and myself. We got on
- 5:34Speaker 1: the microphones right after the Super Bowl win again when
- 5:37Speaker 1: the Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs. It was such
- 5:40Speaker 1: a moment, in a defining moment really for both teams,
- 5:44Speaker 1: both organizations, both franchises. The Eagles extremely relevant right now
- 5:49Speaker 1: in the NFL, and we've seen what happened with the
- 5:52Speaker 1: Kansas City Chiefs this season. So with that being said, again,
- 5:57Speaker 1: let's get to the Eagles postgame show the Super Bowl win.
- 6:02Speaker 1: As we're closing out twenty twenty five. This was the
- 6:06Speaker 1: best moment in twenty twenty five in the world of
- 6:10Speaker 1: Philly sports. You are listening to Eagles postgame analysis here
- 6:18Speaker 1: at the Philadelphia Sports Table podcast show, the longest running
- 6:21Speaker 1: weekly Philly sports podcast show in the world. The Philadelphia
- 6:26Speaker 1: Eagles are Super BOWLD champions, beating the Kansas City Chiefs
- 6:31Speaker 1: down in New Orleans by a score of forty to
- 6:34Speaker 1: twenty two. Jalen Hurts is the MVP. What a season.
- 6:39Speaker 1: I am. Jeff Warren here at my buddy, Eric Leonard.
- 6:42Speaker 1: We got the chance to watch the game together. Buddy,
- 6:45Speaker 1: we actually are in the same room recording this unbelievable
- 6:48Speaker 1: Eagles win the Super Bowl.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Holy shit, man, holy shit, it's fucking unbelievable. I mean,
- 6:54Speaker 2: I honestly thought they're gonna win the game. I didn't
- 6:56Speaker 2: like I said, I said during the game multiple times.
- 6:59Speaker 2: I didn't need to kick the shit out of him. Yeah,
- 7:01Speaker 2: didn't see that coming. I thought the front four was
- 7:04Speaker 2: just gaining steam from week four and on and on
- 7:08Speaker 2: and on. Vic Fangio had that defensive humming, a defense humming,
- 7:12Speaker 2: and just this game right here was the culmination of them, like, oh,
- 7:15Speaker 2: we're the best defensive line of football. Yeah, we're going
- 7:18Speaker 2: to kick the shit out of you. And they dominated
- 7:20Speaker 2: the Chiefs up front. John Carter especially, he made this
- 7:24Speaker 2: whole thing work today.
- 7:25Speaker 1: He did. We are not going to get into grades
- 7:27Speaker 1: like we usually do, folks. You know why, because the
- 7:30Speaker 1: fucking the whole game is an a that everything about
- 7:33Speaker 1: this game. Yes, even though Sakwon Barkley only had fifty
- 7:37Speaker 1: seven yards on twenty five carries. He averaged two point
- 7:40Speaker 1: three yards per carry. Guess what, It's fine. I don't care,
- 7:44Speaker 1: nobody cares. The Chiefs came into this game wanting to
- 7:47Speaker 1: neutralize him. You know, we were talking about it, not
- 7:50Speaker 1: only on our Opposition Territory podcast, but with Brendley Gouton
- 7:53Speaker 1: on the show last week. How was this? How is
- 7:56Speaker 1: this team going to neutralize the Eagles? But I mean
- 7:58Speaker 1: is the Chiefs? How did chief can neutralize the Eagles?
- 8:01Speaker 1: They had to stop Saquon Barkley. They did that, But
- 8:03Speaker 1: guess what whoa Devonte Smith, oh, aj Brown, Dallas Goddard,
- 8:07Speaker 1: John Dotson, all the weapons on the offensive side of
- 8:11Speaker 1: the ball. Eric, But you were talking about the defense too.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I know. I'm all over the place too. Yeah, I'm
- 8:15Speaker 1: all over the fucking place right because of what has
- 8:18Speaker 1: just happened. My god, unbelievable. I don't know. You wanted
- 8:22Speaker 1: to get into a theme though, you know when we
- 8:24Speaker 1: were we were upstairs in our kit in my kitchen area,
- 8:28Speaker 1: you wanted to get into a theme with with regard
- 8:29Speaker 1: to the younger kids, right, basically saying, what do you
- 8:34Speaker 1: mean we're talking about? Oh? I thought you were talking
- 8:37Speaker 1: about like the one theme you wanted to get into,
- 8:39Speaker 1: like younger kids being like like, oh yeah, you don't.
- 8:42Speaker 1: You don't know what it's like. No, not all through this.
- 8:45Speaker 2: So like, okay, so when they won a couple of
- 8:47Speaker 2: years ago, we were both together with our buddies. Yeah,
- 8:50Speaker 2: and it was pure shock. Yes, it was like, oh
- 8:52Speaker 2: my god, this actually happened in my lifetime at like
- 8:55Speaker 2: age forty three, yes, forty two, yep, you almost fifty now,
- 9:00Speaker 2: But like it's still that doesn't go away, Like, holy shit,
- 9:04Speaker 2: my dad's seventy four. This is his second super Bowl
- 9:07Speaker 2: in his lifetime. This is my second one in my lifetime.
- 9:11Speaker 2: These kids, god damn it that are fifteen years old
- 9:15Speaker 2: and thinks this happens every six years. Wo yeah, no
- 9:18Speaker 2: it doesn't. Okay, it does not happen. It takes a
- 9:21Speaker 2: lot of It takes a lot of time. This is
- 9:23Speaker 2: amazing that this is happening right now. And to go
- 9:26Speaker 2: back to your earlier point, they they ms ran like
- 9:29Speaker 2: chiefs ran like a box and one on Saquon Barkley
- 9:32Speaker 2: like you're you're not gonna beat us. We'll let everyone
- 9:35Speaker 2: else be. The one guy didn't neutralize. And this is
- 9:37Speaker 2: a Jalen Hurts. Goddamn Jalen Hurts man. Yeah, wow, he
- 9:42Speaker 2: took like he took on that pressure, He took on
- 9:45Speaker 2: the challenge. He was amazing tonight. It was and like
- 9:48Speaker 2: just not just efficient, but he made some amazing plays
- 9:51Speaker 2: with his feet.
- 9:52Speaker 1: He was the top rusher of the game. And like.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Any bullshit, Jalen Hurts isn't the guy. I've been hard
- 9:59Speaker 2: on him the show. Absolutely we all.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Have, and rightfully so from time to time when he's
- 10:03Speaker 1: not making good decisions. This game, he came into it
- 10:07Speaker 1: one obviously confident. You could actually tell this was a
- 10:10Speaker 1: different Jalen Hurts than two years ago in the Super Bowl.
- 10:13Speaker 1: But we have been critical of him when it has
- 10:15Speaker 1: been deserved, and we praised him when it's been deserved
- 10:17Speaker 1: as well. But today, at the end of the day,
- 10:19Speaker 1: he got it done.
- 10:20Speaker 2: MVP amazing and he deserves it. And the whole offense.
- 10:24Speaker 2: But honestly, I'll just say that the defense won this game.
- 10:27Speaker 2: The offense was amazing, but the defense just dominated the
- 10:32Speaker 2: Chiefs up front. I can't put like, how many Chiefs
- 10:36Speaker 2: offensive lineman do we see crying on the sideline? No crying,
- 10:43Speaker 2: These are grown men, professional athletes. They're crying on this
- 10:46Speaker 2: because Jalen Carter and the rest of the defensive line
- 10:49Speaker 2: my favorite player, Jalen Carter, the new Jerome Brown, kick
- 10:54Speaker 2: their fucking asst.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Yes he didn't. I don't think he had a sack today,
- 10:58Speaker 1: Jalen Carter. I don't believe so.
- 11:00Speaker 2: But guess what, it didn't matter, like it didn't his
- 11:03Speaker 2: his his effect on the offensive line, the internal, the
- 11:06Speaker 2: inside of their line.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Yeah, he destroyed them.
- 11:08Speaker 2: He did, and he allowed everyone around them to make
- 11:10Speaker 2: those plays. And then the Cooper Degen was amazing, Kenyon
- 11:15Speaker 2: Mitchell was amazing. This goes to Howie Roseman first second
- 11:18Speaker 2: round picks and they their rookies won the ring on
- 11:22Speaker 2: the rookie year. That's incredible and Vic Fangio deserves all
- 11:26Speaker 2: the credit. I'm all over the place too, because, yes,
- 11:28Speaker 2: I didn't see the defense kicking that much ass this game.
- 11:31Speaker 2: I knew they were going to be a force me too,
- 11:33Speaker 2: but I didn't know how much of a force they
- 11:35Speaker 2: were going to be.
- 11:36Speaker 1: I don't know they're going to hurt them. Yeah, like
- 11:37Speaker 1: they kicked Patrick Mahomes ass, dude. By the end of
- 11:41Speaker 1: the third quarter, the Chiefs had scored six points.
- 11:44Speaker 2: That's it. One touchdown, there was one. There were a
- 11:47Speaker 2: couple of plays where you and I. You and I
- 11:50Speaker 2: looked at each other and went, Mahomes is like shaken. Yes,
- 11:53Speaker 2: like he's back there, a little jumpy and throwing balls
- 11:58Speaker 2: in the ground, especially that that one to uh the
- 12:00Speaker 2: first down uh to uh to Kelsey through in the dirt,
- 12:04Speaker 2: and it was like, oh, worm burners, shaky knees, like
- 12:10Speaker 2: this guy's a three time champion.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Holy shit. That he doesn't look like he doesn't look
- 12:14Speaker 1: like that. Yeah, he does not look like Look. We
- 12:17Speaker 1: also have to acknowledge the fact that there I think
- 12:20Speaker 1: there are only three Eagles who have won this Super
- 12:24Speaker 1: Bowl who were on the first Super Bowl team, Brandon Graham,
- 12:29Speaker 1: Lane Johnson, and I think Rick Lovato. I think did
- 12:33Speaker 1: we confirm that? I don't know. I don't know. Somebody
- 12:36Speaker 1: out there confirmed that for us. But that's that's all.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Like Brandon Graham closes his career out, yes with a
- 12:42Speaker 1: super Bowl after tearing his Yes, that's awesome. He came
- 12:49Speaker 1: back and and he was effective. Yes, And but again
- 12:52Speaker 1: I Jordan Davis, the interior of the defensive line completely
- 12:57Speaker 1: controlled this game. Those were the guys Jordan Davis very
- 13:00Speaker 1: up and down Sea. You know, I talked about it
- 13:01Speaker 1: during the game. What an up and down season for him? Yeah,
- 13:04Speaker 1: and kind of a shaky first round pick.
- 13:05Speaker 2: A couple of times it looked like but my god,
- 13:08Speaker 2: that size, that bulk, the meanness, the toughness with Jalen Carter,
- 13:12Speaker 2: and friggin my god, Milton was just.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Oh, Milton Williams one unbelievable, unbelieved. I am absolutely surprised
- 13:20Speaker 1: that the Eagles sacked Patrick Mahomes six times, six times.
- 13:24Speaker 1: I'm looking at the stat sheet right here. We know
- 13:26Speaker 1: how dominant Jalen Carter was because of what you were
- 13:29Speaker 1: just talking about. He's getting held on every single play,
- 13:31Speaker 1: and of course the refs can't. They can't call holding
- 13:34Speaker 1: every single player. The game would take six hours. Jalen
- 13:36Speaker 1: Carter is at the bottom of the stat sheet, and
- 13:39Speaker 1: with two quarterback hits, it does not the stat sheet
- 13:43Speaker 1: does not resemble at all the effectiveness of him. Same
- 13:47Speaker 1: with Nolan Smith. He's at the bottom of the stat
- 13:49Speaker 1: sheet with only two quarterback hits. Doesn't matter, it doesn't
- 13:53Speaker 1: matter at all. It's incredible they were getting into the backfield.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Mahomes was just he was absolutely panicked at times, didn't
- 14:00Speaker 1: know where he was going to try to get the ball.
- 14:03Speaker 1: It was incredible that the fact that he looked panicked
- 14:06Speaker 1: as any how many years pro yes, and like a
- 14:10Speaker 1: multi chance he's got three Super Bowls. Yeah, but like
- 14:13Speaker 1: he looks scared tonight. Couple of times he really did
- 14:15Speaker 1: because they were on his ass and like you just said,
- 14:19Speaker 1: bottom of the stat sheet didn't matter, like like the
- 14:22Speaker 1: the the cause and effect of them. Yeah, my god.
- 14:25Speaker 1: And that was the whole game. And they had to
- 14:28Speaker 1: stop running the ball. The Chiefs their defense was on
- 14:30Speaker 1: the field the whole time because the offense held the ball. Yep,
- 14:33Speaker 1: I say that to go to this, How the fuck
- 14:36Speaker 1: Nick Sirianni out coach Andy Reid and not checkers. We're
- 14:40Speaker 1: talking like chess. Yes, he dominated Andy Reid as a
- 14:44Speaker 1: coach and Vic Fangio. That's what it was. Look, you
- 14:50Speaker 1: told you want to talk about the Chiefs rushing attack.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Excuse me? In this game? Sure, go ahead. Patrick Mahomes
- 14:56Speaker 1: was the leading rusher with four carries for twenty five yards.
- 15:00Speaker 1: You had Isaiah Pacheco with three carries for seven yards. Somebody,
- 15:05Speaker 1: Kareem Hunt. We were at the I actually thought Kareem
- 15:07Speaker 1: Hunt was gonna was gonna have like sixty yards in
- 15:09Speaker 1: this game, perhaps three rushes for nine yards and Sama
- 15:14Speaker 1: Jp Ryan he was in the fourth quarter, he had
- 15:16Speaker 1: that one rush for eight yards. Forty nine yards of
- 15:20Speaker 1: rushing for the Chiefs. They couldn't rush the ball. Receiving, yes,
- 15:24Speaker 1: two hundred and fifty seven yards, and that is garbage time.
- 15:27Speaker 1: That's garbage time type of stuff that you're getting from
- 15:29Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes and the receiving corps. They were just shut down.
- 15:34Speaker 1: They were shut down the Chiefs offense. And it leads
- 15:36Speaker 1: me to believe are we gonna see the same type
- 15:40Speaker 1: of Chiefs next year that we have seen in the past.
- 15:44Speaker 1: This really the Philadelphia Eagles really could have just like
- 15:48Speaker 1: toppled that tree over that strong tree, that that that
- 15:53Speaker 1: the Chiefs have always been. I think that's come tumbling down.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Yeah, but I'm not sure if it's completely down. But
- 15:59Speaker 2: what though, I think for them, is that the Chiefs
- 16:02Speaker 2: are going to retool. Yeah, not completely dismantle, right, but
- 16:06Speaker 2: they have to change what they do. Yes, like they
- 16:09Speaker 2: they won every game this year by like six points, yeah,
- 16:12Speaker 2: barely one yep, huge credit, My god, They're like what
- 16:15Speaker 2: fifteen to two this year.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Saying they got to the super Bowl exactly, but they
- 16:20Speaker 2: had to learn from this game.
- 16:21Speaker 1: WHOA we got to change.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Yes, there's no way we can get back to the
- 16:24Speaker 2: super Bowl because a team like that doing what they're doing.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Do we bulk up on defense? Do we go all offense?
- 16:31Speaker 1: This?
- 16:31Speaker 2: This will change their entire organization. It actually, it absolutely
- 16:35Speaker 2: has to.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's why I'm thinking that Tree is that
- 16:38Speaker 1: Tree's come to the end. He's gonna need to retool
- 16:40Speaker 1: so much. Like you just said, I want to we
- 16:43Speaker 1: know that. Look, we know that Jalen Hurts is the MVP.
- 16:45Speaker 1: You can say that he's the offensive MVP. Eric, I
- 16:49Speaker 1: wonder who the defensive MVP actually would be. You've got
- 16:52Speaker 1: Josh Sweat with six total tackles, two and a half sacks,
- 16:57Speaker 1: two tackles for a lost, three quarterback. It's Milton Williams
- 17:01Speaker 1: with two sacks, two tackles for a loss and a
- 17:04Speaker 1: quarterback hit. Yeah, there's so many people. Jordan Davis had
- 17:08Speaker 1: a great game. Let's mention Jordan Davis and up and
- 17:10Speaker 1: down Oh yeah, I'm sorry, up and down seasons and uh,
- 17:14Speaker 1: he had a sack this game amazingly enough. I don't know.
- 17:18Speaker 1: I think it's so tough to say because Cooper Degene
- 17:22Speaker 1: like when he interceded when he had that pick six
- 17:25Speaker 1: and by the way, yes, every like everybody knows on
- 17:27Speaker 1: his birthday. Amazing to win the Super Bowl on your
- 17:29Speaker 1: freaking birthday and have a pick six his sixteenth birthday. Yeah,
- 17:34Speaker 1: my god.
- 17:34Speaker 2: When he was interviewed, I was like, my guy, like
- 17:36Speaker 2: he might he might take my daughter of the prom.
- 17:38Speaker 1: Yeah? Shit, I is it Cooper dejen or do you
- 17:44Speaker 1: think Josh Sweat the MVP of the defense? Can there be?
- 17:48Speaker 1: Can there be an MVP mean defense in this game?
- 17:51Speaker 1: I'm I'm not always a stack guy.
- 17:54Speaker 2: I understand, like the big Dame jay On Carter, like
- 17:57Speaker 2: Josh Sweat is the guy, right, Yeah, had to pick six?
- 18:01Speaker 2: To me, it's it's obvious card Jaalen Carter. Carter ripped
- 18:05Speaker 2: apart their entire offensive line the entire game. He was
- 18:07Speaker 2: held all fucking game and he was getting into the
- 18:10Speaker 2: backfield constantly. There was one play when when he when
- 18:14Speaker 2: he knocked my Homes in the face and got the
- 18:15Speaker 2: fifteen yard penalty. By the way, awesome, don't give a shit, Yes,
- 18:19Speaker 2: like like, that's one of those you already got the
- 18:21Speaker 2: end of, you already got the turnover. Yeah, knock that
- 18:23Speaker 2: asshole down the national television like not not at a meme,
- 18:27Speaker 2: but like send a message, right yeah. Like but at
- 18:30Speaker 2: the same time, he had an arm around up his neck. Yes,
- 18:33Speaker 2: it was like it was like a wrestling hold. It
- 18:35Speaker 2: was like, but he still got through, still knocked him
- 18:38Speaker 2: in the face. He was he was doing that entire game.
- 18:41Speaker 2: To me, he's the MVP. But I understand if you
- 18:43Speaker 2: say sweater to de Gene as a fan, I get it.
- 18:46Speaker 1: It's it's got to be all three. It's got to
- 18:48Speaker 1: be all three. Yeah, it has to be. Are there
- 18:51Speaker 1: any other themes that you want to get into here?
- 18:53Speaker 1: I mean I feel it's we're we're only like we're
- 18:55Speaker 1: only like thirteen minutes into this, but it's like it's like,
- 18:57Speaker 1: what else do we say? They fucking killed them?
- 19:00Speaker 2: Yeah, there's not much to say. Like we talked about
- 19:03Speaker 2: Sirianni out coaching Andy Ree, which is a shocking uh
- 19:06Speaker 2: Vic Fangio having this defense just humming after Like we
- 19:10Speaker 2: were scared a couple of times, right, we were scared
- 19:12Speaker 2: of next Sirianni after for a week four. You know,
- 19:15Speaker 2: he was the only get the fans after that one loss,
- 19:17Speaker 2: brought his kids into the press conference. All of us
- 19:19Speaker 2: were like, is he the guy? Like this is bad?
- 19:23Speaker 2: And obviously somebody we talked about this during the game.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Somebody must have taken him aside an adult in the
- 19:28Speaker 2: in the room and said, hey, you gotta you gotta change,
- 19:32Speaker 2: like this is not working. And he was very humble
- 19:35Speaker 2: after this win. I like that, like he could have
- 19:38Speaker 2: been a dick and did his whole nexting, but he
- 19:41Speaker 2: didn't do it. It was a very adult response to
- 19:44Speaker 2: this victory. Kellen Moore, I mean, like, like you said,
- 19:51Speaker 2: they're like they like I said earlier, did a did
- 19:53Speaker 2: a box and one to take Saquaron of the game.
- 19:56Speaker 2: And the Eagles were like, cool, We're just gonna We're
- 19:58Speaker 2: gonna go to We're gonna go to our awesome recon
- 20:00Speaker 2: been there all year long.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Yep. And Jalen Hurts just don't just don't fuck this up. Yep.
- 20:04Speaker 2: He had one bad interception. His decision making was amazing
- 20:08Speaker 2: throughout the game and he deserves all the accolades. He
- 20:12Speaker 2: deserves all the tribute at this point, any like I said,
- 20:17Speaker 2: any bullshit on his shoulders at this.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Point, rip it off.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Absolutely, it's okay, he's not the best quarterback in the league,
- 20:23Speaker 2: but right got to put him in the top five.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Absolutely, you have to do it. Look, you know, throughout
- 20:27Speaker 1: this season there were folks that were talking to us
- 20:31Speaker 1: on social media, making comments on social about about Jalen Hurts,
- 20:35Speaker 1: And it was after maybe some poor performances here or there,
- 20:38Speaker 1: but at the end of the day, he was able
- 20:40Speaker 1: to get this team an offense where it needed to
- 20:42Speaker 1: be one to get to the Super to get through
- 20:44Speaker 1: the playoffs. Okay, with the help of Saquon Barkley, yes,
- 20:48Speaker 1: but to have the type of game that he did
- 20:51Speaker 1: in this moment, in this moment, when just two years
- 20:56Speaker 1: ago it was a massive failure. The experience from that
- 21:00Speaker 1: previous Super Bowl, how that translated to this one where
- 21:04Speaker 1: he was able to get the ball, like you were
- 21:05Speaker 1: talking about, down the field to the receivers while Saquon
- 21:09Speaker 1: Barkley was boxed up. Davonte Smith four receptions for sixty
- 21:14Speaker 1: nine yards seventeen point three yards per reception. Of course,
- 21:17Speaker 1: he had that long of forty six which resulted in
- 21:20Speaker 1: a touchdown. AJ Brown catching a touchdown he caught three
- 21:23Speaker 1: balls for forty three yards. Johan Dotson caught two balls
- 21:26Speaker 1: for forty two yards. Saquon Barkley threw the ball to
- 21:29Speaker 1: him six times for a total of forty yards. Was
- 21:33Speaker 1: Saquon Barkley was actually really good in the past game
- 21:36Speaker 1: when they needed first downs, Saquon Barkley came through. Dallas
- 21:40Speaker 1: Goddard was only targeted twice, but he caught both balls
- 21:43Speaker 1: for twenty seven yards. And these receivers, you know what
- 21:46Speaker 1: they don't have the they have great receivers and aj Brown,
- 21:50Speaker 1: Davonte Smith after that, To be honest with you, I
- 21:54Speaker 1: mean Johan Dotson, I mean he's basically been forgotten for
- 21:57Speaker 1: most of the season, but he came through big today,
- 22:00Speaker 1: especially that that that second drive of the game where
- 22:04Speaker 1: we thought he had the touchdown. What what a great catch,
- 22:07Speaker 1: What a great throw by Hurts. You gotta give so
- 22:10Speaker 1: much credit to the receiver, the receivers on this team.
- 22:14Speaker 1: And uh there's they're still gonna be with this team
- 22:16Speaker 1: next year, Eric, I love it, still gonna be with him.
- 22:19Speaker 1: And they're they're a young team. They are, Yes, Like
- 22:21Speaker 1: we didn't even talk about the offensive line. Oh my gosh,
- 22:24Speaker 1: I mean yes, they were like, talk about m v
- 22:28Speaker 1: P S Jeff Stallin, Yes, yep, you bring him. McKay
- 22:31Speaker 1: Beckton I made fun of on the pregame show, yes,
- 22:35Speaker 1: or the like.
- 22:36Speaker 2: The previous show. The preview show, I was like, what
- 22:39Speaker 2: a joke. Yes, he's puking everywhere already. Yeah, he's a
- 22:43Speaker 2: Jets loser. Jeff Stallin turns him into a borderline Pro
- 22:47Speaker 2: Bowl guard. Yep, my god, yes, are you kidding me?
- 22:51Speaker 1: Ye?
- 22:51Speaker 2: Lane Johnson is still going. Yes, they have the best
- 22:55Speaker 2: tackle on the other side, joined my Lota. They have
- 22:57Speaker 2: a young center, he's fantastic. Cam Jurgens was great Jergens.
- 23:00Speaker 2: They got Dickerson there, who's young too.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Yep.
- 23:02Speaker 2: They just keep draft how he keeps drafting guys and
- 23:05Speaker 2: they keep these They keep the right coaches around, just Stalin. Obviously,
- 23:10Speaker 2: they bring in Vic Fangio, but Stalin's Stalin deserves at least,
- 23:15Speaker 2: Like is there a mini trophy for the for the
- 23:17Speaker 2: Super Bowl? Like to turn McKay Beckton and then keep that.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Kelsey retires and everyone's like, oh my god, what the
- 23:23Speaker 2: hell's gonna happen? Yes, And what's gonna happen with the
- 23:25Speaker 2: right guard position?
- 23:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Yeah, and guess what, they're just as good as they
- 23:29Speaker 2: ever were. And they bring in Barkley he runs for
- 23:31Speaker 2: over two thousand yards in regular season tonight, what a
- 23:35Speaker 2: game plan offensively. I talked a lot about the defense,
- 23:37Speaker 2: but like, offensively, for Hurts to be responsible for three
- 23:40Speaker 2: hundred yards of offense three touchdowns, yeah, made one bad
- 23:43Speaker 2: decision and man like, like, yeah, how many bad decisions
- 23:48Speaker 2: did this team make in this single game?
- 23:51Speaker 1: Two? Maybe three? Maybe two or three? Yeah?
- 23:53Speaker 2: Tops, And even even that point, they're up like twenty
- 23:56Speaker 2: points anyway, So it just a flawless game for the
- 23:59Speaker 2: most art. And again, Sirianni absolutely housed Jenny Read tonight.
- 24:06Speaker 1: He absolutely did. I love what you were talking about
- 24:08Speaker 1: with the offensive line because it goes to what Brandon
- 24:11Speaker 1: Lee Gout and BLG and I were talking about on
- 24:13Speaker 1: the Super Bowl preview show that the offensive line they're
- 24:17Speaker 1: not just five guys. They are a weapon themselves. Yep,
- 24:20Speaker 1: just like the receivers are a weapon. They're just like
- 24:22Speaker 1: Saquon Barkley is a weapon. The actual unit itself was
- 24:26Speaker 1: a weapon, and they showed that to be true in
- 24:29Speaker 1: this game. And you know what's scary, This is the
- 24:30Speaker 1: first time, like twenty eighteen, the offensive line was dominant
- 24:34Speaker 1: in aufense. The offensive line was not that great right
- 24:37Speaker 1: that year. This is the first time the offensive line.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Is a weapon. So is the defensive line. Yeah, they're fighting, yes,
- 24:43Speaker 2: Milton Williams, they're all young. Yep, they're all going to
- 24:46Speaker 2: get resigned. Nolan Smith coming into his own My god,
- 24:49Speaker 2: Nikobe Dean got hindered. We got him coming back next year.
- 24:52Speaker 2: What a ridiculous Apparently drafting Georgian defenders was an idea move.
- 24:58Speaker 1: He was a good idea.
- 24:59Speaker 2: We said before season, like maybe we're drafting too many.
- 25:02Speaker 2: It's not gonna work, right, No, we're wrong. Like the
- 25:05Speaker 2: they're mean, Like that's they're talented and they're mean.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Yeah what a what a combo? Yes, yeah, you can
- 25:11Speaker 1: just tell in this game the meanness they their pursuit
- 25:14Speaker 1: to the ball. They're just kicking the ship out of
- 25:16Speaker 1: every chief that got in their way. Oh my god.
- 25:19Speaker 2: Like a couple of times on the replays that they'd
- 25:22Speaker 2: showed in slow motion, like Carter's reactions to the offensive line. Yeah,
- 25:26Speaker 2: and he's just like just stink facing them like you can't,
- 25:30Speaker 2: oh you can't do this.
- 25:31Speaker 1: I can't I can't wait to hear the micd up stuff.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Like I'm like, I'm hurting here, I'm kicking your ass.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Do you understand this? It's I sent you last night
- 25:38Speaker 2: the House of paying game nineteen one Eagles Boilers. They
- 25:41Speaker 2: went down there and just kick the ship out of
- 25:44Speaker 2: Warren Moon and the that offense. And that's kind of
- 25:47Speaker 2: that's kind of the nasty meanness Seth Joyner, Reggie White,
- 25:51Speaker 2: Clyde Simmons, they have, they have the same element here. Yeah,
- 25:54Speaker 2: and they're just as talented.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Absolutely absolutely, my gosh, folks, Eagles are Super Bowl champions.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Didn't miss, Oh my god. That's why I actually brought
- 26:04Speaker 1: this up. I was gonna say it didn't miss. It
- 26:06Speaker 1: kicked a fifty yard or a forty five yard or
- 26:08Speaker 1: forty yard or forty two or whatever.
- 26:10Speaker 2: It's amazing. It kicked all four and made them and
- 26:15Speaker 2: we were laughing about it, like he made also, but
- 26:18Speaker 2: it kept it kept. I think I text you guys
- 26:20Speaker 2: a one hundred times, keep your foot to the throat. Yes,
- 26:23Speaker 2: this team is dangerous. Yes they have homes, they have
- 26:25Speaker 2: Andy Reid, and they brought Jake Elliott in field goal
- 26:28Speaker 2: field goal, boom boom, boom, and they just kept you're
- 26:31Speaker 2: not getting the fuck up, right, You're done? How about
- 26:34Speaker 2: also Braden Man the punter, we got it.
- 26:36Speaker 1: He makes that punt, it goes out of the nine
- 26:38Speaker 1: yard line, and two plays later Patrick Mahomes s Thos
- 26:41Speaker 1: an interception to Zach Bonn Oh.
- 26:44Speaker 2: And that was probably the game. That movie that play
- 26:46Speaker 2: right there was it was, but it was set up
- 26:48Speaker 2: by then. It was set up by that pun Yes,
- 26:49Speaker 2: they never had good fuel position ever in this game.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Yeah, it wasn't until towards the end of the third
- 26:54Speaker 1: quarter that they were in the Eagles territory for the
- 26:57Speaker 1: first time, for the very first time of the game.
- 26:59Speaker 2: It was towards the end of the third quarter. Yeah,
- 27:01Speaker 2: you know what credible I call that lametal LaMelo ball football.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Oh ago, Yeah, he's down twenty points. Yeah, he's gonna
- 27:08Speaker 1: put up fifty because he's just wo Yeah, you know,
- 27:11Speaker 1: it's playing the second strings that they're playing defense on you, right,
- 27:14Speaker 1: and he's doing late like like Huger like layups and
- 27:17Speaker 1: like finger rolls and like, oh cool, you put it
- 27:20Speaker 1: fifty and.
- 27:20Speaker 2: You're you lost by twenty five points, right, That's what
- 27:22Speaker 2: that felt like, honestly, because they kicked a ship out
- 27:24Speaker 2: of them so bought so hard before that. I did
- 27:27Speaker 2: not think they would score forty on him. I didn't think.
- 27:29Speaker 2: I thought it was going to be thirty three. Thirty
- 27:31Speaker 2: three to twenty three was my prediction. I mean, before
- 27:35Speaker 2: I started putting Parley's on this game, I honestly, I
- 27:39Speaker 2: was thinking like a low scoring game, like the offense
- 27:41Speaker 2: would kind of be a lot of running the ball
- 27:44Speaker 2: with Pacheco and Barkley. I was thinking, like twenty three
- 27:46Speaker 2: to twenty Yeah, a nail bier. You be shitting our
- 27:49Speaker 2: pants the whole night. But that quickly got squelched, like
- 27:53Speaker 2: they I like, as soon as they knocked I think
- 27:57Speaker 2: it was like what end of the first quarter being
- 27:59Speaker 2: the second quarter started knocking the homes around, yes, yeah,
- 28:02Speaker 2: and it was like, oh, it's like we haven't seen this.
- 28:05Speaker 2: And then and then by the end of the second
- 28:07Speaker 2: quarter or beginning a third when he was like jumpy, Yeah,
- 28:11Speaker 2: it was like I've never seen this before. Holy, this
- 28:13Speaker 2: is like Brady being jumpy, because I mean we're talking
- 28:16Speaker 2: like this guy has Brady potential. Yes, I've never seen
- 28:19Speaker 2: Brady that squirrely right in the pocket, right, and that
- 28:23Speaker 2: that was the first time I've ever seen with him.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just incredible, incredible, and I gotta say it
- 28:28Speaker 1: was great having you your family here at recording in
- 28:31Speaker 1: my little studio area here in my house. And uh
- 28:35Speaker 1: Eric his family were here. Our buddy Dave and his
- 28:37Speaker 1: family was here too. We had some good food. And
- 28:39Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you right now, those wings that
- 28:41Speaker 1: you guys got whoo fantastic. We bought those here. You
- 28:46Speaker 1: have access to them in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Yeah, you said
- 28:49Speaker 1: you never heard of it wing at the wing King. Yes,
- 28:54Speaker 1: what a great name. It is good, the wing King.
- 28:56Speaker 1: It's not that hard. You're rhyme, just two words. They
- 29:00Speaker 1: were fantastic, probably the best food of the night. I
- 29:03Speaker 1: think the wings were probably the best. I think your
- 29:06Speaker 1: cousin's chili was doing. Her chili was good, Yes, she
- 29:09Speaker 1: did this salty sweet yeah deal. Yeah, good food, good
- 29:13Speaker 1: super Bowl food. Great outcome of the game. But have
- 29:16Speaker 1: we kicked their asses? God? We did just win.
- 29:18Speaker 2: We didn't kick the Patriots asses. It was just a fanessic.
- 29:21Speaker 2: They'd scored a shit ton of points. We kicked their yeah,
- 29:25Speaker 2: right in their ass with our big foot. It's amazing, right,
- 29:28Speaker 2: up their butthole. I wanted to do that. Thank you
- 29:32Speaker 2: our toe, big toe right up there. Heinee, Yeah, thank you,
- 29:35Speaker 2: thank you.
- 29:37Speaker 1: All right. I think it's a good place to end
- 29:39Speaker 1: this postgame show. Right you think analysis has fallen apart?
- 29:42Speaker 1: I think so. We're talking about buttholes and stuff. I
- 29:44Speaker 1: was talking chili wings buttholes. Yes, I think we're good. Yes,
- 29:50Speaker 1: all right, folks. That is gonna do it for us.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Here our final Eagles post game podcast show of this
- 29:56Speaker 1: twenty twenty four, twenty five season. Ladelphia Eagles are Super
- 30:01Speaker 1: Bowl champions, beating the Kansas City Chiefs by a score
- 30:05Speaker 1: of forty to twenty two. They are Super Bowl champions.
- 30:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna get a shirt this week. I'm think I'm
- 30:10Speaker 1: going to the parade. I'm gonna have to go to
- 30:11Speaker 1: the parade. I think I didn't go to the first one.
- 30:13Speaker 2: I didn't either. Yeah, I might go. I went to
- 30:15Speaker 2: the Phillies parade. No, yeah, yeah, I might.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Go to it. Might go to this one. I I
- 30:18Speaker 1: got it. I gotta do it. I gotta do it.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Hopefully I may see some of you all down there,
- 30:23Speaker 1: so you got anything else, buddy? Before we head out,
- 30:26Speaker 1: it was just shocked. Yes, I know, like as an HITPI.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Yet I'm not shocked. I'm just like, I didn't think
- 30:31Speaker 1: he keep the bucks. Yeah, yeah, it's pretty amazing. Yep. Yeah,
- 30:34Speaker 1: all right, it's gonna do it for us folks. Take care,
- 30:37Speaker 1: we'll catch you next time.
