Transcript
- 0:22Hi, everybody. Welcome back to Healthy, Happy, Wise, Wealthy. I have with
- 0:26me today an amazing group of people that I know from Missing Link
- 0:30Network, and we had Jaclyn Strominger on our very
- 0:34first episode. She's going to be back to lead this. So I'm
- 0:38just going to go around and introduce everyone really fast. We have a group of
- 0:41entrepreneurs and salespeople here. So Della Washington, if you could
- 0:45wave. She is the owner of Wave Della.
- 0:48She's the owner of Heavy Foot Weight. And so she is our
- 0:52entrepreneur in the group building this business
- 0:55from scratch. Laura McLaren with Rehab Without
- 0:59Walls. She's an example of someone who is a salesperson for a company
- 1:03but needs to be, you know, is in charge of her
- 1:07own income making, which is what we are all here. Zak
- 1:10Shellhammer, business coach in marketing, I would call him a good
- 1:14example of solopreneurship.
- 1:17Dave Johnson with Sierra Sotheby's
- 1:21International. In our group, we like to emphasize the international
- 1:25because it makes us feel fancy. So there's a lot of realtors out
- 1:29there. You got your 1099 when you're aligned with the company, but it's 1099.
- 1:33The same with Jill Blessing Bonet. We had her on episode two,
- 1:37and I said, Jill, come on back. You know, one of the reasons is
- 1:40because I sent out a video asking everyone who've been on this
- 1:44season to give me a little video of a Merry Christmas or Happy New Year,
- 1:47and only Jill did it. So Jill gets to
- 1:51come. Jill is the
- 1:55one stuck in the boxes, the
- 1:58winner. So today we are going to
- 2:02do a an episode on setting goals.
- 2:06It's January. And how to do it in a way that aligns with
- 2:10who we are and not just a checkbox. It feels really connected to
- 2:13who we are, what we're doing, why we're doing it.
- 2:17So Jaclyn Strominger with Leap to youo Success is a
- 2:22business coach, entrepreneur coach, and then the Missing Link
- 2:26Network, which is what we are all a part of, is expanding and growing, too.
- 2:29And it's a way for us to get together and make sure that we
- 2:33are doing what we need to do to stay connected to each other,
- 2:37to network so people know who we are. But also kind of like a group
- 2:41of CEOs, you know, a little board of directors, which is what we're doing here
- 2:44today, making sure we're Keeping each other on track.
- 2:48So, Jaclyn, if you could just take it away now and. And
- 2:51lead us forward. Okay. All right. So, so glad to do this with
- 2:55all of you. And it's actually one of the things that we're also doing
- 2:59in Missing Link network right now, talking about our goals. But this is.
- 3:02We're going to take a little bit of a different slant on this. And one
- 3:06thing about goals, and it's. I don't
- 3:10want to be thinking about setting more goals. It's about
- 3:13choosing the right ones. So we want to make it so that
- 3:172026 doesn't repeat 2025
- 3:21in sense. In the sense that we want it to be better with more intentions
- 3:25and a lot more focus. And I love that word
- 3:29intention. So I'm curious to ask you guys, before we get started,
- 3:32have you guys said a word for 2026?
- 3:38If you have, I'd love to have you guys share. Like, what's your word?
- 3:42Mine was intention. That's mine,
- 3:46too. So you stole mine. Okay. Yeah.
- 3:49Authenticity here. Yes. I love it.
- 3:54I would say strategy. Oh, go ahead.
- 3:58Oh, mine was structure. Structure.
- 4:01Yep. Yeah. Last year, mine was gratitude. I would say this year is
- 4:05achieve. Okay, I like that. Della, how about
- 4:09you?
- 4:13I'm thinking,
- 4:18Geez, I don't know.
- 4:24I guess growth. Growth.
- 4:28Growth. Okay, I like that. Growth. That's a good one.
- 4:32Yeah. And I'm going to throw in alignment. I hadn't even. I hadn't
- 4:36even done that yet. But I want my life to be all aligned with everything
- 4:38that is valuable to me. Alignment is
- 4:42so. It's. It's so key, and that's actually one of the things that we're actually
- 4:45going to talk about. So one of the things that I share with everybody, just
- 4:49so you guys know, I have a vision Mission workbook, and I shared with this
- 4:52vision. In this Vision Mission workbook is something that is called the circle of life.
- 4:56And there are eight
- 4:59sections to this. Family, parenting, Personal
- 5:03finance, Health, Personal development, Relationships,
- 5:06Fun and enjoyment, Spiritual awareness, career and
- 5:10profession. And just to give you a little background on this
- 5:14and where. When. The first time I ever got introduced to this circle
- 5:18of Life was probably 2013. And
- 5:22since then, I have done it every single year. And I've
- 5:25gone through the circle of life myself every single year since then.
- 5:29And then as I was working and worked and met
- 5:33other people who are, you know, business coaches and strategist coaches that
- 5:37I have worked with, they all started with, like, do your
- 5:40circle. So I sent this out to everybody, and I
- 5:44wanted to ask, you know, well, let me just
- 5:48also kind of preface it by saying that when we are.
- 5:51When you're doing this, one of the things about the circle is that
- 5:56it's these. These eight areas
- 6:01share with us basically, this level of satisfaction we have in each of these
- 6:05areas. And it also lets us see where we are
- 6:09potentially out of alignment. And
- 6:12alignment is so important. I mean, even just, you know, Mary was just talking about,
- 6:16like, it's her word, alignment. Right. So I'm really
- 6:19curious for each of you, you know, when you did this, if you
- 6:23actually did it, which area surprised you
- 6:27the most in terms of out of
- 6:31alignment or what was, like, the lowest for you?
- 6:35And what area surprised you the most? And why did it surprise
- 6:39you?
- 6:45Mine was fun and enjoyment. Oh,
- 6:49it was lower than I thought it would be.
- 6:55And why, So why does that surprise you? I guess I never
- 6:58really thought about it before. You know, I just kind of go, go, go and
- 7:02do, do, do and work and take care of my family and. And
- 7:05when I really got to think about what have I done for fun lately, you
- 7:09know, or what do I do for fun? It. I. I mean, I gave
- 7:13myself a 4. But I would definitely
- 7:17like that to be higher. Yeah, right.
- 7:21Yeah, I can see that. Who else would like to share?
- 7:28Yeah, I would. All right, I'll call on you guys. Dave, what was yours?
- 7:32Because So we don't all speak at once. Go ahead. My lowest was health,
- 7:36just because. Need to get back at that. You know, having
- 7:40a routine and, you know, I think
- 7:43that's. Can be easy with a couple habit changes,
- 7:47but I just need to kind of focus. Focus on that, I think. Okay,
- 7:53Zak, I'm gonna. I'm just gonna go up. I'm gonna go up. Okay
- 7:57Yeah, I wouldn't have said surprised, but relationships definitely
- 8:02just. It was too much business. Business
- 8:05got in the way of relationships, like, personal relationships.
- 8:11Too much business. Okay. All right,
- 8:15Laura. Yeah. So. So mine
- 8:18would have to be health, too, because I had that kidney
- 8:22surgery from the kidney stone, and I still
- 8:26haven't been able to drink as much water as I should. Out
- 8:29marketing and stuff, it's just kind of difficult,
- 8:33but focusing on. On my health and getting toned
- 8:37and things like that. Drinking lots of water.
- 8:41Yep. Okay. Della?
- 8:49Yeah. Mine would be the health
- 8:53and relationships. Health and relationships. Okay. So.
- 8:57And like I told you before, I need to really work
- 9:00it on my health and relate
- 9:05relationships both.
- 9:09So, yeah, it's a low number there.
- 9:13Yeah, it's a little. Okay, so.
- 9:17So I'm curious, You know, I'm gonna go back.
- 9:21I'll start. Mary, what's your number? Oh,
- 9:25mine was. Mine was health too, which is kind of why I started this podcast.
- 9:28I feel like I know so much, but I'm like, I'm. It's. I'm not doing
- 9:31well. So, you know. Okay.
- 9:35Revisiting it all.
- 9:38So I'm gonna go back. So, Jill, what was the. What
- 9:42area did you score the highest?
- 9:46Oh, this is kind of funny. Well, actually, it's not.
- 9:50Two areas I scored the highest were family
- 9:54and spiritual awareness.
- 9:59I tied for those two. Okay,
- 10:04Was that. So that's a little surprising. Well, I guess because, you know,
- 10:07I just was saying how I feel like I take care of my family all
- 10:10the time, working. But then I scored myself higher for
- 10:14family. So I gotta find a
- 10:17balance where I take care of me and them. Right.
- 10:21And my other responsibilities. Yep. So, Dave, what was your.
- 10:25What was your highest? Fun and
- 10:28enjoyment? I put down a nine.
- 10:33I don't know. And then it was tied
- 10:36with spiritual awareness, career and profession and family and parenting. So.
- 10:43Okay. That's what I did. Nice. That's nice.
- 10:47So, Zak, how about you? What was your highest? My
- 10:50absolute highest was personal development. I
- 10:54think I personally developed the heck out of myself, apparently.
- 11:03That was definitely a 10. Okay.
- 11:08Laura, how about you? Yeah, so I don't know exactly what you're
- 11:12referencing. I did get the questions and I filled them out,
- 11:16but listening to what you guys have to say, I would have to say
- 11:19my highest is career. I did better than I've ever
- 11:23done or ever dreamed I could do. Having fun,
- 11:27enjoying life. This year has been fun, and
- 11:31my relationship is really strong, so. Yeah, that's great.
- 11:36We see. We see great pictures of you on social media with your partner,
- 11:40and it's like, oh, my. Oh, that looks like she's having a good time.
- 11:45Della, where did you score the highest?
- 11:52Mine would be spiritual. Okay. And business.
- 11:57So. Because I'm always focused on business. 24. 7.
- 12:01However, the spiritual end is so
- 12:05important to me and always has been, so.
- 12:09Because now I go to church on TV every Sunday
- 12:13at 9, do the Catholic
- 12:17mass. That's cool. So.
- 12:21Yeah. Yeah, it keeps. It keeps me
- 12:25focused. So
- 12:28I. All right, so, Mary, what's. What was your score for the highest?
- 12:32I did personal development and spiritual awareness. I gave them an 8,
- 12:36so. Definitely have done a lot of learning curve.
- 12:43Yeah, a lot. A lot there. So. Okay Now
- 12:46looking at all of those. Okay. If. If there was one
- 12:50area that was left unchanged. So out of
- 12:54those eight areas, you know, family, parenting, personal
- 12:57finance, health, career, profession, you Know career, develop career
- 13:02and profession. Personal development,
- 13:05relationships, fun and enjoyment. Spiritual awareness. If there is
- 13:09one area. If left unchanged,
- 13:13which area. I should say, which area would. If left unchanged, would
- 13:16quietly sabotage your success and take 2026.
- 13:23I'm gonna make you think a little bit. Huh.
- 13:30If left unchanged.
- 13:36I would say health. Just because the energy that I
- 13:39need to do well and thrive,
- 13:43I think would suffer if I didn't get on a better
- 13:47health path. Even though I lost 50 pounds in
- 13:502025. But still I need to get, you know, just get
- 13:54more active. Wow.
- 13:58That may have been an expensive wardrobe change.
- 14:04It was.
- 14:08Good for you. Yeah.
- 14:13Which area? If left of Laura I would have to say my
- 14:17faith. If I. If my faith wasn't in check,
- 14:20the attitude for gratitude. I don't. I don't think I'd do
- 14:24very well at all. Yeah.
- 14:32So, Okay, I'm gonna back to that. So in a second. Sorry,
- 14:36Who else wants to share? If left unchanged,
- 14:40would sabotage their. Mine was a personal
- 14:44development. Yep. Because that's really a focus of mine this year is
- 14:48like we talked about in our meeting yesterday is reading more
- 14:51books, reading more personal growth books,
- 14:55spiritual books. And I think if you
- 14:59stop growing, you kind of die and shrivel up. So
- 15:02I think it's important to keep growing and learning. Yeah.
- 15:09Yep. Yeah. Okay, So who
- 15:12else has not. I'm gonna stick with my
- 15:16low score, like, relationships. Super
- 15:20important to improve because it kind of made me mad this year
- 15:24as far as, like, it did so well because I was new
- 15:28for. I knew to Reno all year long and I grew my business
- 15:32and I made amazing friends and when the
- 15:36holidays hit, I was like, oh, I need to like, be with my friends, be
- 15:39with my relationships more. But I couldn't because
- 15:43of other things getting in the way.. So I think that would
- 15:47just continually make me mad and kind of undermine things throughout
- 15:51the next year. hmm
- 15:54Well, we need to. We'll flip that switch. Yeah,
- 15:59yeah. Mine. I was. Yeah, I'm. I'm going to just say
- 16:03career and profession just with alignment. Y. Yeah.
- 16:09And then. So Della.
- 16:12What. What. What's. What would be one area left unchanged?
- 16:21So, Health. Health is so important right now.
- 16:25It. Me being healthy allows me to do
- 16:28more so.
- 16:32And also with relationships,
- 16:36I gotta learn to have a little bit more fun, get out there
- 16:40and not let myself be stagnant by others who
- 16:44want me to do other things. And and I need to. I need to
- 16:48draw that line. Yeah,
- 16:52yeah, yeah. No, that's true. So, you know, in doing
- 16:56this, like, one of the biggest things about why we do this is like actually
- 16:58taking a look, you know, setting goals for
- 17:022026, or just setting goals in general, a lot of it has to come through
- 17:06with what is in alignment, what's not in
- 17:09alignment, what. What really matters the most to you. Because,
- 17:13you know, if. If something is not in alignment, you
- 17:17know, or if there's that one thing, as we just shared, that
- 17:21if left unchanged, would actually sabotage you,
- 17:25then we want to make sure, obviously it's not going to. And when
- 17:29you look at the wheel, what I always like to do is if you draw
- 17:32a circle, like, you connect the dots from all of those
- 17:36lines, and you realize if you. If you do the. Connect the
- 17:39dots and you see them right, it's a wheel.
- 17:43And what does a wheel do? If a wheel is a. Is a perfect circle,
- 17:47it's going to roll beautifully and freely. It could, you
- 17:50know, it could just take off. But when the wheel is bumpy
- 17:54and we don't have alignment in those areas and, you
- 17:58know, then what happens with a. Like a flat tire,
- 18:02right? It's. Right. It doesn't go. So.
- 18:07Reason why I love starting with this is because we really need
- 18:11to, I always like to say, take a look at, you know, two
- 18:15key things that you want to focus on. The two things
- 18:18that maybe have the lowest score, the two things that, when you
- 18:22look at are going to have the greatest impact on
- 18:26both, you know, your personal life, your career, your
- 18:29business, and what's going to give you the biggest smile
- 18:33on your face when 20, you know, when December
- 18:3731st rolls into January 1st, at the end of 2026, into
- 18:402027. So this is why I love to start
- 18:44with this. So, you know, thinking about, as we're
- 18:48setting goals for 2026,
- 18:51picking two of these areas, and the reason why I also say
- 18:55two is because we can't do everything. We can't fix everything,
- 18:59because then we just, you know,
- 19:03we're trying to do too much. We want to try to do things in small,
- 19:06you know, chunks. So
- 19:11I sort of want to want to kind of, like, challenge you guys, like, if
- 19:14you could move the needle, you know, and
- 19:18create that. So, you know,
- 19:21Dave, what is that energy? What is that health
- 19:25goal that you want to set? Like, what would
- 19:28make, you know, at the end of 2026, looking at
- 19:32that health so that we know that the needle is going to move
- 19:36and it's not going to be left unchanged,
- 19:41what do you. What would you dream of doing for that?
- 19:45Your health? Like, what would make it different to make sure that you're moving the
- 19:48needle. I think maybe because I
- 19:52have an 8 and 6 year old and I think maybe just even planning like,
- 19:56you know, doing some weekend walks with the kids
- 20:00and my wife to kind of
- 20:03get more activity and just get outside more, even if it's cold,
- 20:07bundle up, you know, let's, let's go. So I think that even that
- 20:11little difference would help because it's difficult in the winter to kind of
- 20:15get out and do anything. But, you know, trying to make that change,
- 20:19even if it's one or two days a week, would help, I think.
- 20:23Right, So on that health side, because we, you know, one of the things you
- 20:27always hear about, and we talked about this, and we've talked about this and I'm
- 20:30sure most people have heard about it. As you're listening to the podcast to,
- 20:34to make smart goals, people. Something that is, you
- 20:38know, very specific, something that's measurable, something that is
- 20:42that you can actually achievable, that I like to say aim. So that's right
- 20:46for you. Really, that's realistic and
- 20:49that is time bound. So, so
- 20:53just to, not just to pick on Dave, but I'm going to pick on him.
- 20:56So what would that health goal look like? You
- 21:00know, that you could say, okay, so you said walking,
- 21:04weekend walk. So is, would you, would
- 21:08you say the goal then is I want to make sure we walk X
- 21:13times. Like what would be right for you?
- 21:17I would say probably, yeah. A reasonable goal, especially
- 21:21based on busy lives. I would say two times a
- 21:24month doing family walks. But also within arm's reach,
- 21:28right outside of my camera is a treadmill that's sitting up against my desk.
- 21:32I need to get that set up because I can also then walk
- 21:35inside as well. And that's also
- 21:39my goal is to have that kind of rearrange my office at home
- 21:43and get that set up within the next couple weeks. Okay.
- 21:47So then we've got two outside walks and
- 21:50we. How much time do you want to walk inside?
- 21:55I think an hour a week minimum. Because
- 21:59like, I don't, I'm not, I'm not based at
- 22:03home as much anymore with the opening of our new office.
- 22:06So, yeah, an hour a
- 22:10week minimum, I think is a good start. And then go up from there.
- 22:14Okay, and how do you want to track that?
- 22:19Probably just with my watch.
- 22:23With your watch. Okay. And who's going to hold you accountable?
- 22:27Sounds like you are.
- 22:38Yeah, I think Zak. Zak's gonna hold you accountable.
- 22:45You also said that you want to set up your treadmill. So when do you
- 22:48want that done? By, within, by within
- 22:52two weeks, probably. I just need to do a couple rearrangings.
- 22:57Okay, so you guys all heard it here. Two weeks from now, Dave is
- 23:01going to take us a pic, take a picture of him walking on his treadmill.
- 23:06Otherwise, we're all going to come over to your house
- 23:09and set it up. Yes, and
- 23:13put together the treadmill. Right. Two weeks from now.
- 23:17That is by January. January
- 23:2021st. Right. Okay, got it. January
- 23:2421st.
- 23:29Okay, So, Laura, okay. Not to just pick a name, you know, so we talked
- 23:31about your, that goal of, of, you know,
- 23:35keeping. To having your faith and having it. Keeping
- 23:38that attitude of gratitude. How do you want, how do you see yourself
- 23:42maintaining that? And what, what can you do to
- 23:46track. To track that? Like, what's something tan tangible
- 23:49that you can use to measure that?
- 23:53Well, I have a Christian journal that I've been using for the last few years,
- 23:57and so I just need to start doing that. Like I
- 24:01do every set. Well, I try to do every Sunday. So I'm just going to
- 24:04commit to doing every Sunday to line up all the
- 24:08things I'm thankful for, what's on my heart, and then
- 24:12things that I'm praying for. And there's also scripture in there, too,
- 24:16so I get to read scripture. So. So that's one thing
- 24:19I'm going to do is be faithful to every Sunday of setting that up
- 24:23and then going back and answering the last week and
- 24:27checking the boxes, you know, if they were achieved.
- 24:30And then. Every day I
- 24:34try to do affirmations, and I've gotten kind
- 24:38of away from that. So just to get into
- 24:42a behavior of daily doing affirmations in
- 24:46the morning to start my day. Okay.
- 24:53And how are you going to celebrate when you do that every day and on
- 24:57Sunday? Like, what's your. What's what. What is something that you're going to be able
- 24:59to do to celebrate when you do that whole week? Well, I get
- 25:03a little bit of dopamine when I get to check boxes.
- 25:07So, you know, it's. It's kind of a dopamine that goes off
- 25:11when, when I get to do that. So. And usually
- 25:15if you set yourself up right, you are marking a box
- 25:18or two or three. So. Yeah,
- 25:22I don't know. Is that okay? No, no. I mean, it's. It's
- 25:26having something. There's two things. There's like, you know, one of the things
- 25:30that, you know that's really important to be able to see is
- 25:34having something that you can say that visually track. So, you know,
- 25:37like, Dave, we could say, okay, Put on your calendar, you know, the 21st,
- 25:41and you can check off the box or put on the calendar when you are
- 25:44going to, to do the walking. You can see that. Check it
- 25:48off. There is, you know, there's the, the writing it down. There's the visual
- 25:52and putting it all together. So having that, that bit to.
- 25:56To track is really important. And having that,
- 26:00you know, yes. That your X marks a spot, but
- 26:04seeing it is really great. And then you can see the results, like when you
- 26:07look at something and then also being able to celebrate that. Right.
- 26:11Is important. That's really
- 26:15good. I mean, that's a great way to, you know, great way to
- 26:19be of your faith, which is fantastic. So, so, so, Jill.
- 26:25Personal development.
- 26:30So my goal is to read more this year,
- 26:36and my goal is to read 10 books this year. Yep.
- 26:41And they're going to be personal development books or finance,
- 26:45you know, stuff like that.
- 26:49I just finished the Miracle Morning, and
- 26:53so that's, that's where you give yourself so
- 26:56much time in the morning to do affirmations and silence and
- 27:00journaling and exercise, all sorts of stuff. But you also have
- 27:04reading in there as well. So.
- 27:08So I'm gonna, I've already implemented that into my morning routine. And
- 27:12then I'm also going to read more like in the evenings and stuff. So I've
- 27:16just gotten caught up in the cell phone and TV
- 27:19and just realized I haven't really been reading like I used
- 27:23to. So I decided I want to start reading more and
- 27:26read some more personal development books and stuff.
- 27:30So again, tracking. Right.
- 27:34What's going to help you track that you're reading it and stay on target.
- 27:42Gonna keep track of how many books I read.
- 27:46I guess I could write it down when I do my journaling and stuff.
- 27:51Would that feel like it's good for you, like a good act to be able
- 27:55to write down or is like having a tracker, like a
- 27:58daily, like to even just mark on your calendar? I did. Yeah. Well,
- 28:02and you do do that in the, in the miracle morning. You keep track of
- 28:05everything that you do when you do everything. And so you do, you do
- 28:09check that off that you've read. But beyond
- 28:13that, I want to actually, like, there's so many times I've gotten a book and
- 28:16I skim through it or whatever, but I never actually read the whole thing.
- 28:19And that's kind of what I want to make sure I do is I want
- 28:22to actually read 10 books, start to finish,
- 28:26you know, I'll skip to the good part, you know, or whatever. And it's like,
- 28:29I need to. I want to finish it. Right.
- 28:33So I like the idea of journaling about them and keeping track of that and
- 28:36obviously you'll know how many you've read. But again, you know,
- 28:40one thing that I would also share is, like, once you finish one book, what
- 28:44will you do to celebrate the one book? I don't know.
- 28:47I hadn't thought about that. So if you could pick
- 28:51one thing to celebrate, what would you do?
- 28:56Go get a pedicure. Okay, I'm going to go with
- 29:00her to get it. Bring a book to read while I'm getting it. There you
- 29:03go.
- 29:11You need to do something. Yeah, that's true.
- 29:14I need to go do something fun. Yeah, right. Don't look at my
- 29:18circle. It's very bumpy.
- 29:22You can invite a bunch of people to go with you to get a pedicure
- 29:25and then bring some cocktails. Oh, that would be fun. Yeah.
- 29:30For sure.
- 29:35All right. Zak, building relationships
- 29:38and, and making that something, you know, what is.
- 29:42What is an action that you can take to help make
- 29:46that relationship, a higher level
- 29:52relationship work? What would you. Was that to me? I'm sorry. Yes.
- 29:59Well, I need to take time for it and make time for it. I'm a
- 30:02big scheduler, so I think that's just really
- 30:06what got in the way was it's not on the schedule, it's not
- 30:11blocked out. So I need more time
- 30:15for that.
- 30:18So.
- 30:25Was there anything in there that was stopping you from
- 30:29putting it on the calendar? Because I was
- 30:33ravenously working my heart out things.
- 30:39And instead of even with reading, with fun with any
- 30:43of that stuff, that's like, I should be going to bed at a certain time
- 30:46or I should turn all devices off an hour or
- 30:50two before all that and read, read
- 30:54books. The same with relationships and friendships. It's just,
- 30:57oh, well, I'm still working or I've just overbooked myself
- 31:01all day long. So now I'm catching up with work. Right. That's what gets in
- 31:05the way all the time. I'm just. I work a lot
- 31:09and I love to work. It's just great. But
- 31:12it gets away from me. Right. So, all right, so if
- 31:16relationships and putting it on your calendar, when is this practice going
- 31:20to start? Or have you already started doing it? I have already started
- 31:24as far as reaching out to those friends that I was
- 31:27sadly ignoring or not getting enough time with or always saying I
- 31:31can't do anything with to set up more regularly
- 31:35scheduled, what time of week, what weekend,
- 31:38what works for them that I can. We can Actually
- 31:42regularly get together for things. Yeah.
- 31:45Okay. So I think, you know what, they actually want to
- 31:49just make sure that everybody actually hears quite clearly. And I think this is
- 31:53as. As Zak has shared, what goes on our calendar is
- 31:57usually the stuff that's really important and meaningful. So one of the things that I
- 32:00really love to share and is that as we're looking at this, I just want
- 32:03to remind everybody, and we'll talk a little bit more about this too, is in
- 32:06a little bit, but really putting on your calendar the things that
- 32:10matter what, what you want to get done and to.
- 32:15To really own your
- 32:18calendar and be a little selfish about your
- 32:22calendar so that, you know, if
- 32:26you have. When, you know, we're looking at these eight areas and we've set
- 32:29two things that we really want to work on. You know, are the things
- 32:33on our calendar relating back to those.
- 32:38The goals that we've set that really are going to have an impact on
- 32:42the areas that we need to, you know, increase that number on.
- 32:46Because if it doesn't, if it's not going to have an impact and it's going
- 32:49to have a negative impact, then.
- 32:53Then it's where, you know. You know, I always
- 32:56love to say, look at it and say, is it something that I can
- 33:00delegate? Is it something that I can ditch? Or do I
- 33:04just, you know, have to delay what I'm doing? Delegate, delay
- 33:07or ditch? You know, think about it from that standpoint.
- 33:12Because if, if it's going to sabotage what you're doing or if it's
- 33:16going to, it's not in alignment with what you want
- 33:19to do and improve, both personally and professionally,
- 33:24maybe it's not something that you need to do. Right. Or
- 33:29give it to somebody else to do so. But the
- 33:33calendar is really important, Mary, getting to that career and
- 33:37profession. Are we. Oh, are we doing personal or
- 33:40professional? Well, you actually had talked about
- 33:43professional. That one of the
- 33:47things that I wrote down is that if you. If it's stayed the same.
- 33:51Okay. Right. So. Right. To
- 33:55move the needle so that it doesn't stay the same in
- 33:582026. So for profession,
- 34:02I put down meeting three business
- 34:05owners a week that I have don't know yet. So
- 34:09it's easy to meet people that you have met already and
- 34:13that requires a lot of meetings. But. And then I think posting
- 34:16a video, one video a week, talking about.
- 34:20I post a lot for podcasts, but I don't post anything for,
- 34:25you know, day job. Career,
- 34:30the day job, also sales. So I think
- 34:34posting a video a week. Yeah.
- 34:38Are you laughing at Me, Della.
- 34:43Is that Della? Yes.
- 34:49You're so great. No.
- 34:53So by doing that, what will that impact you? What
- 34:57do you think? It's. It's. It's movement and
- 35:01doing, you know, and
- 35:04creating awareness and for, you know,
- 35:09sales. So. Yeah. Right.
- 35:13So again, on the calendar and then tracking so that you can actually
- 35:16measure it, as I like to say, measure, monitor, adjust.
- 35:21So if we're not measuring it, we can't monitor. We are not monitoring it so
- 35:25that we can't adjust it. So, Della, how about you with your
- 35:28health? You know what is going to help you move that needle? Like,
- 35:32what are you going to do to track. To help you track your health?
- 35:38Well, one would be take all my daily
- 35:42pills like I'm supposed to with health
- 35:46and not allow myself to get distracted and take them
- 35:50like I'm supposed to. The other thing
- 35:54would be, you know, eating healthy,
- 35:58mentally healthy, and really,
- 36:02you know, putting on the. How you
- 36:06say when you get into a plane and the planes. Plane
- 36:10is about ready to go down or whatever, and you got to put that mask
- 36:13on for yourself first before you can help everybody else.
- 36:18So I really need to do. Yeah, so I really
- 36:22need to do that and
- 36:25really focus on what I need to do to get done.
- 36:30Yep. And as far as far as
- 36:33with the relationships, I need to say no
- 36:38to some people and yes to
- 36:41others. Making great relationships, business
- 36:44relationships, making them good, making them steady,
- 36:48you know, and really focus on that. Have that conversation.
- 36:52Hey, this is what I got. Let's work on that.
- 36:56As far as, you know, how can I help you with what I
- 36:59have in building that relationship? And,
- 37:03you know, a personal relationship mean going out, maybe dating or
- 37:07something. I just so pushed that to the
- 37:11side. Crazy. Haven't been out
- 37:14there for years. Yeah.
- 37:19So. Yeah, right. Like
- 37:23dating. So, you know, I haven't been out there in years. I just kind of
- 37:26ignored everything. Well, not to ignore it. It goes on the
- 37:30calendar. Right. So those are things like, you know, setting an alarm.
- 37:33Right. To take your pill. Yes.
- 37:38Right, so these are all key things, like setting this up and like, making
- 37:42some, you know, when we are setting goals, the biggest thing that we need to
- 37:45do as. And. And we're going to talk about professional in this in a moment.
- 37:48But literally, it's. It's owning what you
- 37:52truly want. And then again, tracking it is
- 37:56really like I. Is so important
- 38:00because, you know, if you think about business in general, like, you know,
- 38:04there's. There is no way that, you know, what your. How to
- 38:08move the needle if you don't know what the control is, but you can't figure
- 38:11out what the control is unless you're tracking it. So it's the same thing
- 38:15with, you know, the things that we're doing in our personal. In our personal
- 38:18life and in our business life. So looking at
- 38:22where we want to move the needle, the areas that are really going to
- 38:26make us again when, when the ball drops. And
- 38:30we can say that we're super excited that we actually did
- 38:33this, that our year was different, that we
- 38:37made a change. And it also allows you to always think
- 38:41of, you know, at the, at the month. You know,
- 38:44if this was like hit over my head with, you know, looking at
- 38:48things 30, 60, 90 days, every 30, 60,
- 38:5290 days, like at the end of the month. Look at where you are.
- 38:55You know, make the, make the, you know, look at the
- 38:59calendar. Were the things on there that really aligned with you,
- 39:03your values, who you are, you know, in that
- 39:06workbook? I mean, we can't go through whole thing. It's like looking at the values
- 39:10that matter the most to you. Are you in alignment with those
- 39:13values? Is your day to day work in alignment with
- 39:17them? You know, 60 days, okay, well,
- 39:20if, if you're, if you're 30 days, you need to tweak, okay. And you tweaked
- 39:23it after 60, and then you kind of do the same. Look back,
- 39:28well, then at 90 days, okay, well, what do I need to do? What
- 39:31am I adjusting? And then whatever you've adjusted, that becomes your
- 39:35new control and you start over with that 30, 60, 90
- 39:39days. What I wanted to actually
- 39:43also just kind of talk about with the, on the business side of
- 39:46things, because obviously we've talked a lot about the personal side because it does have
- 39:49a huge impact. We've all set
- 39:53professional goals and we think about those, whether it's sales
- 39:57goals. But I want to ask you,
- 40:01what challenge are you willing to face
- 40:06instead of working around it in
- 40:092026?
- 40:13And it's got to make you think about this for a minute. I know that
- 40:16that's, you know,
- 40:19again, what's a challenge that you're kind of finally willing to
- 40:23face instead of working around? I feel like
- 40:27I'm like all of a sudden a Barbra Streisand song came into my brain.
- 40:32We need to face our problems head on. Sorry.
- 40:40I think of things and songs don't ask. Right. So does anybody want to
- 40:44share? I will. One thing
- 40:48is, in my business, I'm always having to
- 40:52get new relationships with realtors and it's hard. A lot of times
- 40:55they already have a Lender relationship. But
- 40:59I've always thought I had a good group of realtors. And then when
- 41:03they started retiring or slowing down or whatever,
- 41:06I realized I need to kind of be replacing these relationships with new
- 41:10realtors. And so one of my
- 41:13challenges is called reluctance. And I read something
- 41:17about how you need to kind of figure out your why,
- 41:21and your why needs to be bigger than your reluctance.
- 41:26And so when I read the
- 41:29article, it said something like, isn't just a few minutes of being
- 41:32uncomfortable minor in the scheme of how big
- 41:36your why is? And they said, you know, write down your why, and that usually
- 41:39it's for, like, somebody else, a family member or whatever. And so
- 41:43I did that. I wrote it down. And it's really helped me
- 41:47just in the last week where I think, oh, I kind of get that pit
- 41:50in my stomach. I don't want to make the call. And then I think about,
- 41:53okay, so you're going to be uncomfortable for a little bit. Who cares? Think about
- 41:57the why? Make the call. And sometimes
- 42:01they answer, sometimes they don't, or whatever. But it's really helped me
- 42:05kind of get over that initial, because what I
- 42:08found I would do is then I would go try to find something else
- 42:12that I felt like was productive, but it wasn't as
- 42:16productive as just making the calls that I know I needed to make.
- 42:20And so I'm hopeful that if I keep doing
- 42:23that, that that will eventually just kind of become the norm and I
- 42:27won't even have that yucky feeling in my stomach anymore.
- 42:31But it's really. It really has helped me just in the last week,
- 42:35keeping that by me and just kind of going through that
- 42:39thought process as I have that initial dread.
- 42:43And then I kind of get over it. So it's been good. So I love
- 42:47that, knowing that why? So. But so, Jill, what makes you. What
- 42:51makes you feel reluctant? I think there's so
- 42:54many things. I've thought about this a lot, too. There's fear of
- 42:58rejection, fear of I'm going to
- 43:01make a mistake or not do it perfectly. Sometimes I
- 43:05wonder if I am, like, sabotaging myself in some
- 43:09way. Like, like, well, gosh, what if this did work out and
- 43:12I got more business? And, oh, my gosh, what if I had too much business?
- 43:15And then, you know, I mean, there's so many different thoughts
- 43:19that I about this, but
- 43:24I think that's, like, going deeper within
- 43:28me. I think initially I just want
- 43:31to get over that initial fear, but I think ultimately
- 43:35it's fear of rejection. But there's a lot of other Emotions in there as
- 43:39well. Yeah. I mean, I've had people hang up on me before and stuff.
- 43:45And I mean, I don't know. It is what it is. I mean, it hurt
- 43:48kind of. You kind of take it personal. But that's where I just have to
- 43:51like get over that. It's not personal, right? Right.
- 43:54It's not personal. So, so I want to share a little couple,
- 43:58a little trick that as we're talking about because sales, you know, making
- 44:02calls. So one little thing that, that,
- 44:06because I would tell you that I used to have. I think
- 44:10you can all raise your hand like who's had that fear of making phone calls?
- 44:14Yeah Rigjt, so I actually put two
- 44:19things. I put on a 4x5
- 44:23card, like my big WHY, you know, so
- 44:26that I could see it. And I put it all over
- 44:30like on my computer, on the mirror. So
- 44:34anytime I'm looking, it was on my computer. Like
- 44:38if I'm looking at my computer screen, it would be right there for me to
- 44:41see. So I always saw that. And then I wrote down one word
- 44:46and that was down. Detach.
- 44:50Right. I just wrote down the word detach because I wanted
- 44:54to remind myself to detach from the outcome. Like who gives
- 44:57a but right? Who cares? It's just
- 45:01detach from it. And then when I did
- 45:05that, it made me think. And this is something that I, I may
- 45:08have shared, but it, but I want to just make sure everybody hears this.
- 45:12You can never ever, you can never
- 45:16ever say the wrong thing to the right person.
- 45:21You can never ever say the wrong thing to the right person.
- 45:25So it might, you know, it might be that they, it might not be the
- 45:29right time for them right now. It may not be a. No, not now. I
- 45:32don't want to get whatever. But if it's the right person, it doesn't matter
- 45:36what we say. We could flub our words, we can joke
- 45:40around about it, but it's, you
- 45:43know, if we detach from the outcome, we have our why
- 45:47right there in front of us and we just attach
- 45:51and we remember that like you can even write underneath the word attach, like
- 45:55I can't say the wrong thing to the right person. So that when you
- 45:59pick up the phone to make the phone call,
- 46:02you're, you're golden. And,
- 46:06and then the other part of that is the tracking part
- 46:10is, you know, really important to celebrate when you
- 46:13make that phone call. Like when you make the first phone call, like do the
- 46:17happy dance. I mean I like, like, like, yeah, I made
- 46:21the call. Woohoo. Get up and dance right like, do
- 46:24something to put a smile on your face. Like, do the happy dance. And
- 46:28if somebody hangs up on the phone, hangs up on the phone, do the happy
- 46:32dance. And said, yeah, I don't have to talk to that person. My
- 46:35list. Right, like, right. So that you actually
- 46:39celebrate, like, right. Like,
- 46:43you know, say you could, you know, do something kind of
- 46:47funny and you know, to the phone and I could, you know, whatever,
- 46:50like after they hang up on you, but
- 46:54celebrate the fact because you know that they're not your
- 46:57A person. So who, like, okay, so who cares? All right,
- 47:01like, but celebrate it, you know, anyway, so
- 47:05I'm hoping that like, helps a little bit also when we're like, thinking about making,
- 47:09I think I don't know anybody, like, as I'm looking at
- 47:13here or anybody in any business. We all have to make phone
- 47:17calls, right? And if we don't have to make phone calls, I'm really
- 47:21curious. I mean, it doesn't have to be even a phone call. It could be
- 47:24a text message. It could be,
- 47:28I don't know, whatever. All the 'Thousand, you know, one ways that we can
- 47:31communicate with each other these days. You know, it could even
- 47:35be a letter. Like, whatever it is, like,
- 47:39just celebrate it once you've done that thing that makes
- 47:42you go ick or that makes you that pit in this pit and
- 47:46stomach. Okay, so, all right, who else wants to
- 47:50share, you know, what's the challenge that you're going to finally
- 47:53face instead of working around.
- 48:00Laura? Well, when I, when I first came
- 48:03to Missing LInk,. I
- 48:07had some issues that I needed to set some boundaries and have some, you
- 48:12know, coming to Jesus talks with people and, and
- 48:16I did. And just recently I just had another
- 48:20one. Instead of just kind of beating around the bush or
- 48:23thinking they thought something and I thought something and just awkwardness
- 48:27and everything. So, so I addressed it. So
- 48:31going into 2026, just continue to
- 48:35address, you know, issues with
- 48:39relationships and whatnot and, and not be afraid
- 48:42of that and, and understand that like the intention is
- 48:46to have a meeting of the minds
- 48:50or be able to be comfortable in mutual
- 48:53settings or, or make that
- 48:57other person feel comfortable as well. So
- 49:01I like that, that. That's good.
- 49:05Own the elephant in the room. But
- 49:09no, like, it's to own the elephant in the room. Right? Like you want to
- 49:12own, you want to own. Like you're going to take on the elephant in the
- 49:15room. And so, you know, to be able to celebrate that and so that
- 49:18when you do do that, like, make sure, making sure that you're celebrating that that
- 49:22is a win, you know. Yeah. And that you're celebrating that.
- 49:26That you. That you're doing that because it's so important, and it's. I. And it's.
- 49:29It's hard. Those are. Those are hard things to do. And
- 49:33there's the professional side and there's the personal side. So that
- 49:37was. That's the personal side that I'm working on. The
- 49:41reluctance. I just. Like Jill, you know, a lot of times
- 49:46I'll go in and talk to people, and they'll just look like a deer in
- 49:49the headlights. I was telling Mary that I actually
- 49:52went into an Edward Jones, and I'm actually a client
- 49:56now because of Missing Link and my
- 49:59connection there. So I went in and I was like, hey, you know,
- 50:03you know your clients. Right, Right. So, you know, who has
- 50:07a stroke, you know, who's been in an accident, you know
- 50:11that they're probably going to be pulling some funds. And she just looked at
- 50:15me like a deer in the headlights, and she says, what are you doing in
- 50:18here? And I said, well, number one, I'm a client. I
- 50:22said, number two, I would think that you would have these relationships and you would
- 50:26know, you know, what's going on in people's lives. And then she just
- 50:29kind of looked at me, and I was like, why aren't you understanding?
- 50:34I can't believe I said it, but I did.
- 50:39And then she's like, you know, she. Was kind of
- 50:42shocked. And I. And so then I went on to explain, and
- 50:46then I was like, okay, she's not getting it. So I walked right into
- 50:50an insurance office. And I know, working insurance that, you
- 50:54know your book, you know, when people have had a stroke, you know what's going
- 50:57on in their life, if you're a good agent. And so I walked in there
- 51:01and I said, I. I didn't even say hi or anything. I said. I
- 51:05said, you know, your clients, don't you. You know what's going on in their
- 51:08life, don't you? And they said, well, yeah. And I said,
- 51:12okay, because she doesn't.
- 51:16And Laura always has the best stories.
- 51:21When we had a conversation,
- 51:27I felt good about it. I was like,
- 51:30yeah, some people just need to be told.
- 51:38Right? Yeah. So,
- 51:42again, not to belabor this, but to really think, you know, about.
- 51:45About, you know. Yeah. Thinking about your goals for
- 51:482026, this is actually, you know, thinking about this
- 51:52challenge as just something that you have. Maybe in 2025,
- 51:56you just decided that you were going to do a workaround. You know, think
- 51:59about what that is, and you Know, truly write
- 52:03down like what is that? Like what can you put the line in the
- 52:07sand for where you're saying, you know what, I'm not going to do that anymore.
- 52:10I know that if I change that about me
- 52:14or I change that about what I am doing, it is going to have an
- 52:17impact now. It is, you know, it's, it's not an
- 52:21easy conversation to have with us, with ourselves.
- 52:24So, you know, in that same
- 52:28vein, I'm curious to ask, sorry, my, you know, a little bit of
- 52:32an attack by a four legged friend.
- 52:36What have you, you know, and I, and I love talking about this
- 52:40as a, as looking at our goals because I don't know, you know, one
- 52:44of the things I think a lot of us do and in our goal setting
- 52:48or in our what we set out a goal and then we, we start working
- 52:52on something and it might start working and then somewhere
- 52:55along the way we stop.
- 52:59So I am curious, is there something that you have tried before
- 53:05that you realize that you stop
- 53:08doing but you want to bring back into 2026?
- 53:14I have an easy one. I'll go first on this yoga because
- 53:18I, I love the yoga studio I was at in Atlanta and would go
- 53:22four or five times a week, sometimes more. And I haven't had an
- 53:25exercise schedule in the last two years since moving to Reno. So
- 53:29I started back to the same studio the day after Christmas and
- 53:33I think I've been eight times. So it's pretty good. And I was gonna
- 53:37go last night and then I wasn't feeling good, so. But
- 53:40love it. And I think this is the first time because I get bored
- 53:44with different workout routines. The first time I've gone back to the same place.
- 53:48So. That's great. Yeah, that's really great. That's really great.
- 53:53It's really good. Feel better.
- 53:58All right, who else wants to share on that front?
- 54:04What is one thing that you have done that worked but decided
- 54:08for some. Reason other you just stopped doing personal or
- 54:11professional? Either. Well,
- 54:15it didn't work. But one thing I, Dave helped me with
- 54:18this. I want to start doing more like zoom calls with clients
- 54:24and where I could show them their numbers and stuff like that. Because a lot
- 54:28of, a lot of times, believe it or not, people don't come in and meet
- 54:30with me, especially younger people and
- 54:34on this coaching program I'm in, you know, she talks about how the younger generation,
- 54:38they grew up with phones and so they're very visual and they see the
- 54:42videos and stuff like that. So, so
- 54:45I tried to do a zoom with A first time home buyer couple. And my.
- 54:49I could not get my audio to come on and I totally panicked
- 54:52and got all freaked out and then never did it again.
- 54:57And so I wanted. I want to implement that. And in fact, I
- 55:00have one tomorrow scheduled with another buyer.
- 55:04But Dave helped me. I asked Dave. I'm like, can we do a test one
- 55:07so that I can make sure my speakers work and my microphone. Because I was
- 55:11so. I found myself totally overthinking the whole thing that
- 55:14then I was talking myself out of it, basically.
- 55:18So that's one thing I'm going to implement in my business this year. That's good.
- 55:22I like that, that, that Zoom. Okay, let's zoom. Who else has
- 55:26something that they want? When Jill did that, I just
- 55:29came on the screen and I just was like.
- 55:48He is. And he made me share my screen and everything. He was very like,
- 55:52by the book. Yeah.
- 55:57That's hilarious. Yeah. But
- 56:01Jill, that's like a really good thing because you know what I'm hearing is that
- 56:03you're getting over, like you're taking some really. Mine would get over
- 56:07some things, so that's really important. Yeah, I'm trying because I think. I just think
- 56:10it would be such a great idea and I want to do it. And I
- 56:14just. Because I didn't want to have somebody within my company email me because
- 56:18I thought, well, maybe because we're in the same network. I don't know. I don't
- 56:21know this stuff. So I wanted someone from outside to email me so
- 56:24I could just do a kind of a test, pretend. And. And I'm
- 56:28like, I gotta just get over this fear just because I had one bad
- 56:32example, one bad time with it, you know? So.
- 56:39Yeah, All right. Who else has something? Della, you were going to say something.
- 56:48Yeah, Mine would be getting back with the women's groups that
- 56:52I'd been going to networking with.
- 56:56And the
- 57:00other thing would be the we
- 57:06haven't done. So I need to get to
- 57:10like Party America, you
- 57:15know, get out there and talk to. Oh,
- 57:19my gosh, a lot of different companies out there, like
- 57:24Costco, I've talked to. And I got to get back to talking everybody again.
- 57:31Yeah. So basically get out of. Get out of your house and make.
- 57:34Make those connections
- 57:38connect. Yep. Yeah.
- 57:42Yep. So you. As we're talking,
- 57:48one of the key things with all of this is that is.
- 57:51I want you to think about this is is. Is
- 57:55as you're looking at your goals, you know, how do they align? What are you
- 57:58going to do? Change? But also to answer some of these questions,
- 58:02like, how will you measure your alignment with what
- 58:06you are doing and not just your productivity?
- 58:10What is going to make you say. Say that it's alignment with your values
- 58:14and who you are and not just, you know, we can all be super
- 58:18productive.
- 58:25The. The response you get back, the
- 58:28either, you know, you're growing with your business
- 58:32and other people are understanding what it is that you're
- 58:36doing and having respect for that
- 58:40and allowing you that space,
- 58:44not allowing anyone to curve it for you
- 58:49and seeing the success out of it. Yeah.
- 58:53Laura. Yeah. Yeah, I just want to say, like, when I first started with Rehab
- 58:57Without Walls, I did a lot of storytelling, which
- 59:01really brought out the emotion in people. And so right
- 59:05off the bat, we were doing really, really well. And then I got away
- 59:08from it, and I started focusing on the features of what
- 59:12we offer, and it wasn't as compelling. And
- 59:16so now we're shifting back
- 59:20to the benefits, you know, selling
- 59:24the benefits of our program, and it's
- 59:29actually making a difference now again. And I don't even know
- 59:33why I got away from it, because I was so excited to share those. I
- 59:38think I started to feel the pressure of sales instead of
- 59:42just spreading, you know, the joy and the success and
- 59:45things like that that people have experienced from it.
- 59:50Right. The stories. Stories do sell and that you can
- 59:53sell. You can quote, unquote, sell the benefits as
- 59:57you share the story. I
- 1:00:01think Zak can probably speak about that, too. I mean, as a brand.
- 1:00:05Oh, yeah. The stories are the most important.
- 1:00:09Absolutely. That sells. It connects. It's about the
- 1:00:13connection. It's about relating to people and sharing. Like
- 1:00:17you're on the same page and you're both humans going through
- 1:00:20something, and that's very important. That's kind of what
- 1:00:24I'm thinking with this question is like, to listen to that internal
- 1:00:28dialogue as we get out, because we're all kind of
- 1:00:31talking about getting out more, connecting with people more,
- 1:00:35having conversations. And I think the same, like, I need to be more
- 1:00:40purposeful with the communication I'm having with certain folks to
- 1:00:45build that client base even further. And at the same time, though,
- 1:00:49I need to listen to that internal dialogue as I don't want to get
- 1:00:53misaligned with a client. I want to continue to work with people
- 1:00:57that are on the same page and relate to me
- 1:01:00as much as I can relate to them, and that helps them even more.
- 1:01:04Yeah, yeah, it's true. All right. So
- 1:01:09I. I want, you know, as, you know, one of the biggest things also
- 1:01:13about setting the goals for 20, 26
- 1:01:16or what, whatever. And I want you. I want to actually
- 1:01:21stress it is 2026 and it is January, but
- 1:01:25it doesn't have to be January that you
- 1:01:28set a goal or decide whether
- 1:01:32or not it's something that's right.
- 1:01:36This is where really taking stock. And I always want to say
- 1:01:39looking at where you are, what you're aligned with, and if
- 1:01:43it's. If you're not able to get up in the morning or there's something
- 1:01:46that's causing, you know.
- 1:01:50You know, we get super excited and charged about things that we're
- 1:01:54doing and when we're. We are in alignment, and when you start feeling that drain,
- 1:01:58that's the time to start thinking to yourself, okay, maybe I need to take
- 1:02:02stock. Thinking about measure, monitoring, adjusting. You can
- 1:02:05decide to reset and redo
- 1:02:09what the goals are anytime. It doesn't
- 1:02:13just have to be in January. Just know that when we are
- 1:02:16looking at the goals, thinking about where we are with those
- 1:02:20key eight characters and where. And how your wheel is
- 1:02:25moving, you know, and where you need to make those adjustments
- 1:02:29so that we can have a more even wheel spinning
- 1:02:32so that we do start flying and accelerating because we do want
- 1:02:37to be on a smooth road versus a bumpy road.
- 1:02:41So, you know, I want you to think about
- 1:02:45if. If December 31,
- 1:02:492026, could speak to you
- 1:02:53right now, what would you want to hear it say?
- 1:03:00Yay.
- 1:03:03What'd you say? Yay. Exactly.
- 1:03:08Champagne bottles.
- 1:03:12Fireworks.
- 1:03:20I just said peace. My gosh. Hey, we're
- 1:03:24having a party. You're over there. Well,
- 1:03:28I will go to the party, too,
- 1:03:32with good people. You know what I'm saying?
- 1:03:37Right. I love that.
- 1:03:41So, you know, just kind of like recapping, like, think about where you are with
- 1:03:45your. With your. Where you are in those apiece, eight areas.
- 1:03:48Really hone in on what values you really want to
- 1:03:52align with. Really think about as you're setting those. You know, is
- 1:03:56there something. Looking at your calendar, making sure that it's in alignment with
- 1:03:59what you want to achieve. And know that
- 1:04:03we need to measure, monitor, and adjust, and we can't
- 1:04:07fix everything. Like, start with something that you want. You
- 1:04:11know, I always like to say two personal intentions.
- 1:04:14Intentions, and really focus on those and
- 1:04:18be very intentional with that. And know that
- 1:04:22when you, you know, to celebrate the wins
- 1:04:25and know that, you know, 2026, we can rock and we can. We
- 1:04:29can change the world, but we have to be able to track what we're
- 1:04:33doing so that we know that we can look at something, know that
- 1:04:37we can adjust it, and
- 1:04:40Know that when we are able to do that
- 1:04:44and we're in alignment with what we're doing, we're soaring and we're
- 1:04:48leaping to our greatest success. Hey,
- 1:04:52for sure. Thank you, Jaclyn. I would love to
- 1:04:56close just with everyone kind of just saying for just a minute to two
- 1:05:00minutes what you do with your business. And I know Della
- 1:05:03and Laura, yours are a little bit more complex. So
- 1:05:07Della, can you start then? I'll have Laura go. We'll do girls first,
- 1:05:11just super briefly. Okay. Girls first,
- 1:05:15ladies first.
- 1:05:20So Heavy Foot Weight is a weight
- 1:05:25that stakes everything down. And you can start with a 40
- 1:05:28pound, 12 pound, 5 pound weight. And it
- 1:05:32keeps things from going airborne. So it's all about security and
- 1:05:36safety. Yeah. Love it. And do you
- 1:05:40work with people all across the country? Yes.
- 1:05:46Yes. And internationally. And internationally,
- 1:05:50we. We can go. It can go anywhere. And also with
- 1:05:53military. Yeah, military.
- 1:05:58And, you know, any, like the un Any
- 1:06:02other types of. That would need our services.
- 1:06:06I love it. And there's pictures and videos of it on
- 1:06:09heavyfootweight.com, so. Thanks, Della. Laura, can
- 1:06:13you tell us a little bit about Rehab Without Walls? Yes. Yeah. So rehab without.
- 1:06:17Oops, sorry. So rehab without walls is
- 1:06:21a neurotype of rehabilitation. It's innovative, it's
- 1:06:25revolutionary, it's evidence based. What
- 1:06:29we do is we go into a patient's home and we work in their real
- 1:06:32life surroundings and we give them, you
- 1:06:36know, 16 to 24 hours a week of
- 1:06:40intensive therapy. And what that means to them is they get stronger,
- 1:06:43faster, they gain confidence, and
- 1:06:47they're able to be on their own so their family can actually get out and
- 1:06:51do things that they need to do instead of being a full time
- 1:06:54caregiver. The other thing that we do is we
- 1:06:57reintegrate them back into the community, which means to them
- 1:07:01is we can get them back to earning a living, back
- 1:07:05to work, back to doing the things that they
- 1:07:09enjoy doing. So hiking, biking, fishing, that type
- 1:07:13of thing, that's what we do. I love it. And you're in Reno,
- 1:07:16so. But this, this is. This is in more than just Reno. Right. It's another
- 1:07:20part of the country. It's all over the United States. And we have
- 1:07:24247 locations and
- 1:07:28residential day programs, everything.
- 1:07:31Awesome. How can people reach you? What's the best way? The best way to
- 1:07:35reach me is to contact me at
- 1:07:38707-207-1475.
- 1:07:44Or you can go to
- 1:07:44laura.mclaren@rehabwithoutwalls.com.
- 1:07:49Awesome. All right, I'm going to actually go to Zak and Dave Next.
- 1:07:53Since Jill and Jaclyn been on the show before. So, Zak.
- 1:07:58I am a marketing performance consultant and that means that I
- 1:08:02am your long term advisor for entrepreneurs,
- 1:08:05solopreneurs, businesses, teams.
- 1:08:09I can work through the full business planning,
- 1:08:13strategizing, and how that fits in with your marketing and your
- 1:08:16authenticity, making it a happier business. I help a lot
- 1:08:20of folks overcome their challenges with marketing. Getting on
- 1:08:24camera, getting on stage, what to say, how to act, what to do
- 1:08:28and how to feel comfortable with that as well,
- 1:08:32and taking businesses to that next level. So usually folks that
- 1:08:36are kind of stuck, kind of wanting to get further, they're doing
- 1:08:40good, but they want to do even better. And that's where I come in.
- 1:08:43And folks can get me
- 1:08:47at zakunscripted.com and add me everywhere as that and I'm available
- 1:08:51all over the place.
- 1:08:56Is your social media handle. Yes. Right. As well. Yeah. Zak,
- 1:09:00unscripted is the social media. Yeah. With a K,
- 1:09:03Z. A K, Z, A K. Yes. Yeah. And
- 1:09:07he. He posts some good videos on the regular. So there you
- 1:09:11go. Always coming to you from the car from somewhere. Sunglasses
- 1:09:15off. Sunglasses off.
- 1:09:19All right, Dave, I hear you're international.
- 1:09:29Yes. No. There are realtors everywhere. Everybody
- 1:09:33knows at least a few. But, you know, not only
- 1:09:37I have many differences, but also our company, which is
- 1:09:40actually international, we joke about it, but a lot of companies have that
- 1:09:44word in their name, but we actually have offices
- 1:09:48all over the globe. And I think one thing that sets me
- 1:09:52apart is, you know, I'm not only
- 1:09:56in real estate sales, but I'm also on the board of our
- 1:09:59local realtor association. I'm also a real estate agent
- 1:10:03coach for a company called Ninja Selling that only deals with
- 1:10:07real estate. And, you know, all of that helps kind of bolster
- 1:10:10my skills when it comes to negotiating and getting the best
- 1:10:13deals possible for my clients. So we really are international.
- 1:10:17And I think you can tell also I try to have some
- 1:10:21fun when we can in a real estate transaction to make
- 1:10:25a little more lighthearted, even though it's quite serious at times. But when we
- 1:10:28can have some fun, I try to do that as well. Thanks,
- 1:10:32Dave. Okay, Jill. I'm Jill Blessing
- 1:10:36Bonet. I'm with Gateway Mortgage. We are not international, but
- 1:10:39we are in 42 states.
- 1:10:43I've been in the mortgage business for a bajillion years
- 1:10:47and I help people buy homes. Single family, one to
- 1:10:51four units or refinance. And then we
- 1:10:55also do construction loans. If people want to build a home, if they want to
- 1:10:59buy a home and fix it up, we've got rehabilitation loans,
- 1:11:02all sorts of financing available for people. Nice.
- 1:11:06And everyloanneedsablessing.com. Yes, that's
- 1:11:10my website. Yeah. At Blessing loans. Any other way to
- 1:11:14reach you? My cell,
- 1:11:16775-224-2234.
- 1:11:20And you do loans just in Nevada? I can do loans in
- 1:11:2342 states. Oh, you can? Yes. Yeah,
- 1:11:27almost. Almost international. Yeah, not quite, but
- 1:11:3042 is a lot. Wow, that's a lot. I love
- 1:11:34your email.
- 1:11:38All the states that matter. All the states,
- 1:11:41exactly. I don't know which ones. You can't do it, but it doesn't matter.
- 1:11:45It's only the ones.
- 1:11:49Alright, Jaclyn. And tell us about Missing Link Network that we're all part of. Just
- 1:11:53tell the world. Oh, hey, before you go to.
- 1:11:57Before you. Yeah.
- 1:12:01Hey. Hey, wait. Can I, can I stop you for a second?
- 1:12:05You can. I just wanted to add
- 1:12:09that heavy footweight is doing a
- 1:12:12webinar on January 28th.
- 1:12:16If you're interested, you can email
- 1:12:19Dwashington@HeavyFootWeight.com
- 1:12:26that's it, Jaclyn.
- 1:12:30No, that's okay. So you know,
- 1:12:35Missing Link Network is a
- 1:12:40networking company where we take a mastermind approach to networking, where we have
- 1:12:43hubs that meet together weekly. And we
- 1:12:47have three key pillars, People, profit and progress. And we have people working
- 1:12:51on their business, not just being transactional and the
- 1:12:55people that are part of the hub, it's, it's your board of
- 1:12:59advisors and directors and your sales team kind of rolled into
- 1:13:02one. So when you get together with your hub again, you're working on your
- 1:13:06business, not just being in your business and great deep
- 1:13:09connections, deep relationships. So, you
- 1:13:13know, people are fostering the growth not just for, you know,
- 1:13:17for the people that are in their hub and the links that are around them
- 1:13:20and themselves. It's. And we are now actually expanding
- 1:13:24into Southern California, Orange County,
- 1:13:27Dallas, Texas, Northern Virginia,
- 1:13:31Lake Norman area in North Carolina and
- 1:13:36north area of Boston, Long
- 1:13:40Island. I think that's it. Wow.
- 1:13:43Wow. Congratulations. Yeah. And I love the new
- 1:13:47manual. Oh, our new manual. Yes. And
- 1:13:52so when people join, what makes us also a little bit different is you don't
- 1:13:55just get, you know, awesome, you get a
- 1:13:59beautiful workbook that has a whole year
- 1:14:02of what we call our modules. So again this
- 1:14:06month we are starting with our goals. We're talking about personal goals, business goals
- 1:14:10and hub goals. Next month we're talking about something that we're going to be working
- 1:14:13on on our, on our business. Oh, and Della is holding up the workbook.
- 1:14:17So you get this beautiful workbook. You also get a,
- 1:14:22A name badge that we actually make. It's actually
- 1:14:25personalized just for you. And you also get a beautiful T shirt that says
- 1:14:29that you are the missing link. It means I'm the missing link.
- 1:14:33And you get this beautiful group of people that you can interact with.
- 1:14:37But if you join our group, you also get liquor.
- 1:14:42Yeah, this is true. That is true.
- 1:14:46That is true. That's awesome.
- 1:14:50You know, one of the biggest things that we really, you know, I would say
- 1:14:53about Missing Lake Network that makes it a little bit different is that we truly
- 1:14:56believe that it. Besides that there's also a we. We reward people.
- 1:15:00Say that 10 times fast. We reward people for
- 1:15:03bringing people into the hub, into any hub, into. I should say we
- 1:15:07reward people for bringing people into Missing Link Network. And
- 1:15:12so that we want to truly thank people for
- 1:15:15connecting and making those connections because that's, you know, what's,
- 1:15:20you know, it's the most important thing. Making deep connections. Yeah, for sure.
- 1:15:24And okay, me outside the podcast, I. I also am an on camera
- 1:15:28person and I help people make their creative video,
- 1:15:32commercial messaging and get that on television or on digital.
- 1:15:35So thank you guys. I love you guys so much. Thank
- 1:15:39you. Next time we get together, probably with
- 1:15:43there will be a little bit of alcohol.
- 1:15:47Just a little.
- 1:15:52But only in moderation.
- 1:15:58Just a little Happy New Year, everyone. I so appreciate your time and
