- 0:00Speaker 1: Here we are, guys. Last break of the day. This
- 0:04Speaker 1: has been a great show. Thank you guys for joining
- 0:06Speaker 1: us as always. Steve, we kind of talked about this earlier.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Junior in sports talked about Ryan Clark getting fired from
- 0:15Speaker 1: ESPN and he congratulated him on his new job. And
- 0:20Speaker 1: you said that you had spoken to Ryan Clark.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Well, you know, I text him, you know, we kind
- 0:26Speaker 2: of stay in touch with each other a little bit
- 0:27Speaker 2: ever since I did the Pivot podcast. Yeah. You know,
- 0:31Speaker 2: Ryan Clark is an example for everybody, including myself. I've
- 0:39Speaker 2: been an example in this regard to several people. I've
- 0:45Speaker 2: watched some things happen in my lifetime that was unexplainable.
- 0:52Speaker 2: And then When it got explained, it was nothing but God.
- 0:58Speaker 2: You know, and it's sort of crazy, man. When something
- 1:01Speaker 2: happens in my life that goes well, and I don't
- 1:05Speaker 2: know how it went well, and I have an unexplainable
- 1:09Speaker 2: explanation for it, that's usually God. And, you know, when
- 1:15Speaker 2: Ryan got fired from ESPN, he was upset about it.
- 1:20Speaker 2: He got emotional on a couple of interviews and he
- 1:22Speaker 2: was talking about it and everything like that. And I'm
- 1:25Speaker 2: not going to share what we text, but I text
- 1:28Speaker 2: him after that. And then I look up and all
- 1:32Speaker 2: of a sudden, Ryan, who got fired from ESPN, has
- 1:37Speaker 2: his own studio, his own sports show, and it's on Netflix.
- 1:44Speaker 2: And he's got a channel online. all his own that
- 1:47Speaker 2: he owns. Did you see how fast God can work? Now,
- 1:55Speaker 2: sometimes God's timing is not the way we want it.
- 1:59Speaker 2: I'm sure when it first happened to Ryan, that wasn't
- 2:01Speaker 2: the perfect timing. Because, you know, man, a lot of times, y'all,
- 2:05Speaker 2: when you lose something, when something gets stripped away from you,
- 2:11Speaker 2: when you're suddenly given some bad news, when you get canceled,
- 2:16Speaker 2: or whatever, or you get fired, or you get a
- 2:18Speaker 2: pink slip on your job, it's a little shocking. And
- 2:24Speaker 2: it'll throw you into something. And I don't know how
- 2:26Speaker 2: long it takes most people to gather, but for a
- 2:29Speaker 2: couple of days, man, you're kind of thrown in a
- 2:33Speaker 2: dizzy spin. But, and sometimes that spin that you stay in,
- 2:40Speaker 2: it lasts a little bit longer than you want it to.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Sometimes you want the feeling to go away a lot faster.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I'm tired of feeling unsure about my future. I'm tired
- 2:52Speaker 2: of not knowing what my next move is. I'm tired
- 2:56Speaker 2: of not having the answer. I don't know how I'm
- 2:59Speaker 2: going to feed my family. I don't know, and you
- 3:02Speaker 2: know so many people counting on you. I just don't
- 3:05Speaker 2: know what my next move is, Lord. And sometimes you
- 3:08Speaker 2: stay in that situation a little bit longer than you
- 3:11Speaker 2: want to. And then sometime God snaps you up and
- 3:15Speaker 2: makes the change so quickly. But can I tell you something?
- 3:20Speaker 2: A lot of how fast the change come will have
- 3:22Speaker 2: a lot to do with your attitude about what has happened.
- 3:26Speaker 2: If you sit in a situation that has happened to
- 3:28Speaker 2: you and you bury yourself under it, it's going to
- 3:32Speaker 2: take a longer time for you to come out of it.
- 3:35Speaker 2: What you have to do when it happens to you,
- 3:39Speaker 2: the bad things in life, You got to be grateful.
- 3:43Speaker 2: You got to show gratitude that it could have went worse,
- 3:48Speaker 2: that it could have happened in a place where you
- 3:50Speaker 2: didn't have no recourse. But as long as you got God,
- 3:53Speaker 2: you have recourse. So what you have to do when
- 3:56Speaker 2: it happens to you badly, I know it's going to
- 3:58Speaker 2: throw you into something. I've been thrown into something myself.
- 4:01Speaker 2: I can't count the times in my life it's happened.
- 4:04Speaker 2: But I always manage to gather myself and I go
- 4:08Speaker 2: to God and I ask him for clarity. I ask
- 4:11Speaker 2: him for understanding. I ask him for peace of mind.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Show me what it is you're trying to teach me.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Because whenever you go through something like a Ryan Clark
- 4:23Speaker 2: went through, or you on your job, or you get
- 4:26Speaker 2: a notice from a homeowners association, or just you get
- 4:29Speaker 2: a notice down at the school about your child, or
- 4:32Speaker 2: you find out that your company's closing, or you find
- 4:35Speaker 2: out that the bank went out, whatever the situation is,
- 4:39Speaker 2: you got to hang in there Because there is a
- 4:44Speaker 2: message in it for you. There is a learning curve
- 4:48Speaker 2: in it for you. There is a growth spurt in
- 4:52Speaker 2: it for you. God never allows anything to happen for you,
- 4:56Speaker 2: those that are believers, that does not work out for
- 4:59Speaker 2: your good. But you got to be looking for it.
- 5:02Speaker 2: You got to get watchful, y'all. You can't sit there
- 5:05Speaker 2: and wallow in it. Oh, woe is me. Oh, I
- 5:08Speaker 2: can't believe this happened. It did. It did. It really did.
- 5:13Speaker 2: So you can stop the I can't believe it because
- 5:16Speaker 2: it just did. Look, man, I've gotten some news recently, man,
- 5:20Speaker 2: that will shake most people. I've gone through some stuff
- 5:23Speaker 2: recently that will shake most people. But my faith in
- 5:26Speaker 2: God kept me, man. Now, I got some news that
- 5:28Speaker 2: kind of threw me a little bit, but I had
- 5:30Speaker 2: to gather myself. See, when God allows a door to
- 5:36Speaker 2: be closed... It is not the finality for you. Do
- 5:44Speaker 2: you not understand that that's a sign from God that
- 5:48Speaker 2: he will, and look, and when the door closes, God
- 5:50Speaker 2: don't want you standing there beating on the door. Open
- 5:52Speaker 2: this door back up. Let's get a write-in campaign. Let's
- 5:55Speaker 2: keep my show on the air. Let's do this. Let's
- 5:58Speaker 2: all listen. That has never worked. What God wants you
- 6:03Speaker 2: to do, step away from that door and walk up
- 6:07Speaker 2: the hall. Because if you walk up the hall, God
- 6:11Speaker 2: always has more doors. God has never left you. He
- 6:16Speaker 2: has never failed you. He has never left you hanging.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Walk up the hall. God got some more doors for
- 6:22Speaker 2: you to go through. But if you stay that beating
- 6:25Speaker 2: on that door, you'll never make the walk up the hall.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Ryan Clark finally stopped beating on the door and walked
- 6:31Speaker 2: up the hall and look at him now. That same thing,
- 6:35Speaker 2: that same grace and favor God gave to him, he
- 6:38Speaker 2: give to you. God is good, man. Y'all have a
- 6:40Speaker 2: great day today.
