- 2:55Speaker 3: Hey hey, hey, let's it take cake.
- 2:57Speaker 2: No no, no, no, no.
- 2:58Speaker 4: You know what he's talking about. Well, we hit thirty
- 3:00Speaker 4: k on TikTok.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, TikTok.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I'm so spotif Spotify thirty thousand following me Like what dude?
- 3:10Speaker 3: How much?
- 3:11Speaker 2: Just now hearing about it, I swear my brain short
- 3:14Speaker 2: circuited and I was like, I completely just made up that.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Derek walked over to my desk this morning and said
- 3:20Speaker 2: that we hit thirty k on something like I I
- 3:23Speaker 2: felt crazy there for a second. I'm so glad you
- 3:27Speaker 2: did tell me it was I got the Spotify part wrong.
- 3:30Speaker 3: But hey, we're at nine thousand. Let's get to ten.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Come on, get the tent.
- 3:34Speaker 1: If you're listening on Spotify, hit the follow button. If
- 3:36Speaker 1: you're listening on Spotify, hit the follow button.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Come on, there's a reddit. There's a Reddit page out there.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Yeah, there's building an empire, building an empire on Reddit.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Shout out to those boys. Didn't you say, Derek, you
- 3:47Speaker 1: got in contact, You made contact. It's Ethan.
- 3:50Speaker 3: He is the leader, the PT six leader out there.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Yeah, so right now they have one hundred and seven
- 3:54Speaker 4: weekly visitors on this It is our slash for the
- 3:57Speaker 4: Dad's Podcast, seventy eight weekly contributors, and out to little
- 4:00Speaker 4: easy z As. It's Ethan. We've been in contact. This
- 4:04Speaker 4: is uh, this is the page. They have a pull
- 4:05Speaker 4: up right now saying trash day. What does the big
- 4:08Speaker 4: beautiful truck come by and dip and rip those diapers away?
- 4:11Speaker 4: Dads and you get to pick the day your trash
- 4:13Speaker 4: is coming.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Come on, good, good pole. I just a dip in
- 4:20Speaker 2: will because this was a really great question, and it
- 4:24Speaker 2: comes from our reddit. This is like a fastball right
- 4:28Speaker 2: down the middle as far as a Will Compton question goes.
- 4:31Speaker 3: I hope my brain's operating right now.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Oh you brother, you got this one. This comes from
- 4:36Speaker 2: CPA Ginger on Reddit titled crib Transition. Hello, fellow PT sixers.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Have a one year old who has unfortunately slept in
- 4:46Speaker 2: our bed for the past few months and will not
- 4:49Speaker 2: let us put him down into his crib without screaming
- 4:52Speaker 2: his head off. He has never used a passy, and
- 4:56Speaker 2: when he is asleep generally sleeps through the night. We
- 4:59Speaker 2: never had issue with our first child with this issue.
- 5:03Speaker 2: What suggestions do y'all have or book recommendations. I know
- 5:08Speaker 2: the boys have too that they recommend, but I feel
- 5:11Speaker 2: like that's more geared towards the early days.
- 5:16Speaker 3: What's the fastball down the middle.
- 5:19Speaker 2: That the twelve hours by twelve weeks? Well, I know
- 5:23Speaker 2: the Mom's on call book does longer than just like
- 5:31Speaker 2: it would cover the first year essentially.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Yeah, well, just because when you when you read that
- 5:38Speaker 1: like we didn't do any We didn't do any any
- 5:41Speaker 1: of the co sleeping. And I'm not saying that co
- 5:43Speaker 1: sleeping is a bad thing by any means, I know
- 5:45Speaker 1: what happens.
- 5:45Speaker 3: A lot of people do it.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, but I personally, we don't have. I don't
- 5:49Speaker 1: have that's not in my jurisdiction. So and when he says,
- 5:53Speaker 1: I know you recommended a couple books, but it seems
- 5:55Speaker 1: like those are more for the early stages. So I'm thinking, well, yeah,
- 5:57Speaker 1: he's right. In my brain, I would say it's more
- 5:59Speaker 1: for the early, but I don't know, like is the
- 6:02Speaker 1: baby three months old or four months old right now?
- 6:05Speaker 1: I would say you can get to whatever the starting
- 6:08Speaker 1: phase of the sleep training is and start trying to
- 6:11Speaker 1: incorporate that from the book. But again, that is that
- 6:15Speaker 1: is ali out of wally one shall jurisdiction.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Maybe there's some dads in the shatter and the comments that.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Could throw a book recommendation out there, for if you're
- 6:23Speaker 1: trying to go from you know, co sleeping with your
- 6:25Speaker 1: child to them transitioning them into the crib.
- 6:28Speaker 3: There's probably a lot of good literature out there on it.
- 6:30Speaker 2: And I could be mistaken, but I do believe that
- 6:33Speaker 2: the Mom's on Call book goes to maybe even a
- 6:38Speaker 2: full year. So if it is a one year old,
- 6:41Speaker 2: which is what they're saying, on here, check that out.
- 6:45Speaker 2: As far as it gives like a good it goes
- 6:49Speaker 2: by like months, so it'll be like four to six months,
- 6:52Speaker 2: and then you know six to nine months increases, so
- 6:57Speaker 2: check that out. I did short circuit yet again in
- 7:00Speaker 2: I need to drink more lollipop and wake up a
- 7:03Speaker 2: little bit, and didn't realize it was twelve hours by
- 7:06Speaker 2: twelve weeks. So the keep off on that book would.
- 7:10Speaker 1: If this child, if this young child is one year
- 7:12Speaker 1: old already, I'm thinking, yeah, I would have to google
- 7:16Speaker 1: a couple of times see what books.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Are out there. That's all. That's all being chat Willie C.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Yeah, one hey, one year. I mean they were like
- 7:25Speaker 2: what twelve weeks old?
- 7:27Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Yeah, that's say good reminder for the new dads tuned in.
- 7:32Speaker 3: We are not experts by any means. We love to
- 7:37Speaker 3: talk about our experiences in paradhood.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Bust some balls talk dads talking the milk Team sixers, which,
- 7:44Speaker 1: by the way, these are in store, right.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yes they are, and they look so good.
- 7:49Speaker 3: I'm just at the rock beat because these are slick. Bro.
- 7:54Speaker 2: It looked nice when you were at the media day yesterday,
- 7:59Speaker 2: then yeah, looked filthy.
- 8:01Speaker 4: Did you get any comments?
- 8:01Speaker 3: Will?
- 8:03Speaker 1: Yes, gotta come, just like walking by, walking the past
- 8:06Speaker 1: and hey, what's that?
- 8:06Speaker 3: What's that hat? Say? Oh? Milk Team six?
- 8:09Speaker 2: Oh what's that about?
- 8:11Speaker 3: Oh? Well, you gotta kid, you got a kid? You
- 8:15Speaker 3: pumping your own Milk Team six? Dude, I have speaking
- 8:25Speaker 3: of dead life, I.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Have a dude, it's I missed the family right now.
- 8:31Speaker 1: It was hard for your boy to leave for San Francisco, not.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Like hard is like the powers out. There's a lot
- 8:40Speaker 3: of chaos going on.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I know there's times where you're like you feel like
- 8:43Speaker 1: you've just been on fumes and you got a trip
- 8:47Speaker 1: coming up, or a work trip or something, and you
- 8:49Speaker 1: see it as like, Okay, this will be a breath
- 8:51Speaker 1: of fresh air or it'll be nice to get out, YadA, YadA, YadA.
- 8:54Speaker 1: But being in San Francisco, we're going essentially all week,
- 8:56Speaker 1: so Monday through I think we get back Saturday. And
- 9:01Speaker 1: as it was coming up, I tell Rue on Sunday
- 9:03Speaker 1: because Charles Charlie was operating Bar three at the time,
- 9:07Speaker 1: So I am just rocking with Scott in Rue. Scotty's
- 9:10Speaker 1: down for nat Rue and I are kind of hanging out,
- 9:13Speaker 1: so I feel like, Okay, I'm going.
- 9:14Speaker 3: To start setting I'm going to start anchoring Rue the
- 9:17Speaker 3: hey Dada is going to be gone.
- 9:22Speaker 2: And literally cut out as he said gone that that
- 9:25Speaker 2: could have been maybe it was a sign more perfectly timed.
- 9:30Speaker 2: So while we're waiting to get Will back.
- 9:33Speaker 4: It's a good time to do that song. We practice,
- 9:35Speaker 4: It is.
- 9:36Speaker 2: A good time to do that song. We practice and practice. Well,
- 9:40Speaker 2: we didn't, we didn't have a song. But what I
- 9:42Speaker 2: will say while we're still waiting for Will is what
- 9:47Speaker 2: he's about to talk about with Rue is one of
- 9:50Speaker 2: my biggest fears as far as development with Scarlett of
- 9:56Speaker 2: like when she starts to become.
- 9:58Speaker 5: Wait, do you think he knows that he's cut out?
- 10:01Speaker 4: No, he's still talking.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Oh, Like do you think he knows that he's cut
- 10:05Speaker 2: out from the pot?
- 10:06Speaker 6: Oh?
- 10:06Speaker 4: There he goes, there he goes.
- 10:08Speaker 2: But yeah, while we while we still are getting him back,
- 10:12Speaker 2: like Scarlett basically getting to the age where she realizes that, oh,
- 10:18Speaker 2: Dad's leaving. Like I think it was both Taylor Will
- 10:24Speaker 2: and then we had somebody on Busting with the Boys
- 10:26Speaker 2: where they were like, is Daddy going on an airplane?
- 10:29Speaker 4: Luke, Yeah, he's righted up a couple of times.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Can you guys hear me?
- 10:34Speaker 1: Yes?
- 10:35Speaker 3: Oh boys, I'm sorry. No, you're fine, you you said.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Rue was saying that, dad, dads, are you going to
- 10:43Speaker 2: be gone?
- 10:44Speaker 1: Like, yeah, sorry, I think the the WiFi ran out
- 10:48Speaker 1: of the twenty four hours. I think I logged on yesterday.
- 10:50Speaker 1: At this time, my twenty four hours was up. So
- 10:52Speaker 1: then I just reconnected it to the Wi fi. But
- 10:54Speaker 1: Wi Fi WILLI we are back online?
- 10:56Speaker 2: That's hilarious.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Yeah, so I'm starting name to Ruin for dead ad leaving.
- 11:03Speaker 1: I say, hey, sweetheart, I just want to let you
- 11:05Speaker 1: know that is going to be that has got to
- 11:07Speaker 1: go on a work trip.
- 11:08Speaker 3: That is going to fall on an airplane. I'm going
- 11:09Speaker 3: to San Francisco, and.
- 11:11Speaker 1: That has got to do stuff for football, and that's
- 11:13Speaker 1: going to be going for five sleeps.
- 11:14Speaker 3: So she was like, oh no, why you got to
- 11:18Speaker 3: be gone?
- 11:19Speaker 1: I was like, well, Dada has to do work. So
- 11:20Speaker 1: we're kind of talking about the work stuff. Why do
- 11:21Speaker 1: you have to go do that? You know, I forget
- 11:24Speaker 1: how she says San Francisco. But it was absolutely adorable.
- 11:28Speaker 1: And later that day, Charles doing bedtime with Scotti and
- 11:34Speaker 1: Rue's up there giving her hot kiss, three squeezes, giving
- 11:37Speaker 1: her the whole good night routine to Scotti. Rue starts
- 11:40Speaker 1: walking downstairs and I see room. I'm like sitting, I'm
- 11:44Speaker 1: sitting in the chair in the living room. I look up,
- 11:46Speaker 1: I see room and she seems sad. And I was like, hey, sweetheart,
- 11:49Speaker 1: what's going on? Why do you look sad? And she's
- 11:52Speaker 1: like walking down the last couple of steps. She hits
- 11:55Speaker 1: the floor and she looks at me and she's like,
- 11:57Speaker 1: I don't want data to go bye bye, and just
- 12:00Speaker 1: starts crying as she starts to pick it up and
- 12:03Speaker 1: jog over towards me.
- 12:04Speaker 3: She starts crying and weeping. I pick her.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Up and I'm like holding her. I'm holding her on
- 12:10Speaker 1: my chest. So I'm just kind of sitting in the
- 12:11Speaker 1: chair like while she cries. Yeah, just let her know
- 12:14Speaker 1: that it's it's gonna be okay. Like he's five sleeps
- 12:16Speaker 1: that us and videos and pictures and.
- 12:20Speaker 3: You know, we'll talk every day.
- 12:21Speaker 1: And dude, in my heart was breaking sitting there holding
- 12:26Speaker 1: her as she cried, not wanting dad to.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Leave for leave for San Francisco, and she was like.
- 12:32Speaker 2: She ran into your arms, correct, like she didn't fall
- 12:35Speaker 2: ye crying.
- 12:37Speaker 3: No, Yeah, she didn't fall on the floor. She like
- 12:39Speaker 3: started the.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Jog over to I was like, oh, come here, come,
- 12:42Speaker 1: come sit with dad. Then she kind of starts running
- 12:44Speaker 1: over to me. I pick her up, and dude, it
- 12:46Speaker 1: was the saddest thing, bro. As she's crying. After about
- 12:52Speaker 1: forty five seconds of her sitting there crying on my chest,
- 12:55Speaker 1: mid Cry, mid Cry has some kind of like you know, stroking.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Her hair and on the back and rubbing her back,
- 13:02Speaker 3: she hits me.
- 13:03Speaker 1: With a can I have a cookie?
- 13:09Speaker 3: Bro?
- 13:09Speaker 2: She's learning learning.
- 13:11Speaker 3: I'm sweet. Out of course you can have a cookie.
- 13:14Speaker 1: But in that story, I found a little uh dad
- 13:19Speaker 1: hack like while I am trying to make her feel
- 13:21Speaker 1: better with everything, and I was like, here's what we
- 13:23Speaker 1: can do.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Do you want to hear what we can do while
- 13:25Speaker 3: dead has gone? And she was like yeah.
- 13:27Speaker 1: I was like, we should go into my closet and
- 13:29Speaker 1: you can pick out a shirt or something of dead
- 13:32Speaker 1: as in his closet and you can basically essentially treat
- 13:35Speaker 1: it like a stuffed animal. Yeah, to where whenever Dad
- 13:38Speaker 1: has going or you get sad or you're doing bedtime,
- 13:41Speaker 1: like you can just lay with dead ass shirt. You
- 13:43Speaker 1: can cry and you can be sad, you can be happy,
- 13:45Speaker 1: whatever you want to use it for. But we can
- 13:47Speaker 1: go pick out a shirt from Dada's closet and then
- 13:49Speaker 1: you can have that shirt.
- 13:50Speaker 3: You can walk around with this shirt all week long
- 13:52Speaker 3: if you want to. I was like, would that make
- 13:53Speaker 3: you feel better?
- 13:54Speaker 1: And she was like yeah, she nods her head yes,
- 13:56Speaker 1: and we walk in my closet pick out a sweatshirt,
- 13:58Speaker 1: the girl Dad sweatshirt. I'm telling her what girl dad means,
- 14:02Speaker 1: like girl, that's like a call to you. That girl
- 14:04Speaker 1: is for rue girl dad dad, that's dad dad. She's
- 14:08Speaker 1: fired up about it. She sleeps with it that night
- 14:11Speaker 1: next to me, and Charles like, as we do a
- 14:12Speaker 1: sleepover that night because I'm like, hey, let's do a
- 14:14Speaker 1: sleepover and I'll wake you.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Up when I leave in the morning because I had
- 14:17Speaker 3: to wake up like four in the morning.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll give you a kiss, three squeezes, all of it,
- 14:21Speaker 1: and do you just do your best.
- 14:23Speaker 3: You do your best because you get like heartbroken that
- 14:26Speaker 3: you have to leave.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Even when I left, Charli texted me like when I
- 14:31Speaker 1: took off of the flight and I'm like, I miss
- 14:32Speaker 1: you guys already, And She's like the minute you left,
- 14:35Speaker 1: Rue started weeping again, and she was just crying. And
- 14:38Speaker 1: then Charles sent me a chain of a chain of texts.
- 14:42Speaker 1: I'll read them to you guys. Let's see here. It's
- 14:47Speaker 1: been a couple of days, so we've texted quite a.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Bit the let me see. Okay, here it is, she said.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Rue started weeping much as soon as you shut the door,
- 15:01Speaker 1: so I've tried tried calming her for a while.
- 15:04Speaker 3: So I tried to try calming her for a while.
- 15:05Speaker 3: She kept crying.
- 15:06Speaker 1: I was like, let's talk about what we love about
- 15:08Speaker 1: da Dad and what we'll do all week while he's gone,
- 15:11Speaker 1: and then also what we'll do when he gets back,
- 15:14Speaker 1: and she said of course.
- 15:15Speaker 3: She held me to it. We had to go back
- 15:16Speaker 3: and forth, over and over, talking.
- 15:18Speaker 1: About what we love about you, then what we'll do
- 15:20Speaker 1: when you get when you are, what we'll do when
- 15:23Speaker 1: you're gone, and then finally what we'll do when you're back.
- 15:26Speaker 1: And then she says, this morning she wanted to sing
- 15:28Speaker 1: about you. She's like, let's sing about Dad Dad, and
- 15:30Speaker 1: Charles like she goes. I was like, uh okay, and
- 15:34Speaker 1: then Charles says, like, you know, the little asterisk starts
- 15:37Speaker 1: singing yeah, and then she's like, then she tells me,
- 15:40Speaker 1: I'm not singing right.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Of course you're not doing it right. You're sing correctly.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Nothing will send the three year old sideways when you
- 15:47Speaker 1: just don't get the words to a song right.
- 15:49Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, no, Dad, I love that. No,
- 15:55Speaker 3: you're not singing it right, Dad.
- 15:58Speaker 2: That's the greatest.
- 16:00Speaker 1: But in that story, dad hack the sweatshirt or T
- 16:03Speaker 1: shirt when you're gone, because she's like cudding with them, like, oh,
- 16:07Speaker 1: is this smell like?
- 16:07Speaker 3: Dad?
- 16:07Speaker 1: Dad?
- 16:08Speaker 3: She's like nod in her head. Yes, she has no clue.
- 16:10Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Any maybe she does, but dad hack, use a T shirt,
- 16:14Speaker 1: use a sweatshirt on Badad's gone?
- 16:16Speaker 2: Dude. There's nothing that has brought tears in my eyes
- 16:19Speaker 2: more than when Jill hit me with a similar statement
- 16:23Speaker 2: of I was being very down on myself. This was
- 16:27Speaker 2: very early in Scarlett's life, like first month maybe, and
- 16:31Speaker 2: I just felt like I wasn't doing a good job
- 16:35Speaker 2: stepping up to the plate. This was probably around the
- 16:38Speaker 2: raccoon ladder incident.
- 16:41Speaker 3: Yeah, the old raccoon, the old.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Raccoon ladder incident. And I'm going through my frustrations. I'm like,
- 16:49Speaker 2: I just feel like such a bad dad. And Jill
- 16:52Speaker 2: kind of had like tears in her eyes, but she
- 16:54Speaker 2: wasn't crying, and she was like, I just want you
- 16:57Speaker 2: to know you're not a bad dad. I Scarlett and
- 17:00Speaker 2: I talk about how much we love you all the
- 17:02Speaker 2: time when you're not home and how much we miss you,
- 17:05Speaker 2: and what a great dad you are, and like the
- 17:07Speaker 2: thought of that conversation being carried out without me there
- 17:13Speaker 2: is crazy, right crazy, And the fact that real can
- 17:17Speaker 2: bring that up, like it's not even mom bringing that
- 17:20Speaker 2: up now. It was like, okay, Mom, now you have
- 17:23Speaker 2: to say something you love about that.
- 17:26Speaker 1: As they just sit there, lay in bed, char I
- 17:28Speaker 1: was like, God, I wish we could just fall back
- 17:29Speaker 1: and see it's four thirty in the morning.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I forgot it was thirty porrrow.
- 17:36Speaker 3: Oh man, how do you want to? Uh what were
- 17:39Speaker 3: you gonna ask?
- 17:40Speaker 2: How would the FaceTime spen? Have you been facetiming?
- 17:43Speaker 1: Really, I've only been able to do a couple because again,
- 17:45Speaker 1: like today's Tuesday as we're recording, left Monday morning again,
- 17:51Speaker 1: our flight was at six thirty in the morning. Yeah,
- 17:54Speaker 1: landed in uh San Francisco at like nine thirty I
- 17:57Speaker 1: had to from the airport, drive right over to the
- 18:00Speaker 1: Pro Bowl, do all the Pro Bowl activities till about
- 18:04Speaker 1: one two o'clock, and then came and checked in the hotel.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Then we had to drive a get credential drive an
- 18:12Speaker 1: hour out to Super Bowl Media days.
- 18:14Speaker 3: That's when we did all the media day.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Stuff until about seven o'clock, six thirty or seven o'clock. Yeah,
- 18:19Speaker 1: drove an hour back to the hotel and sat down
- 18:23Speaker 1: at probably at eight thirty or nine, shot the intro
- 18:27Speaker 1: for the podcast to do you know, get ready for
- 18:29Speaker 1: the interview with Vrabel the next day. Got done here
- 18:32Speaker 1: at the hotel at like ten o'clock at night, which.
- 18:35Speaker 3: It's midnight now back at home.
- 18:38Speaker 1: So we were just we were on the move all
- 18:40Speaker 1: day long and then again three point thirty eight, im
- 18:42Speaker 1: wake up call this morning to drive an hour. Like
- 18:44Speaker 1: we're just we're an hour away from it feels like everything.
- 18:47Speaker 3: I felt.
- 18:47Speaker 1: We're like in the financial district at San Francisco. Yeah,
- 18:50Speaker 1: it feels like we're in the mix, but it seems
- 18:52Speaker 1: like everything is like an hour away and does.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Really have the capability of like if she wind a
- 18:56Speaker 2: FaceTime dat ad, does she know how to get onto
- 19:00Speaker 2: Charro's almost called your church are good Lord, Charles phone
- 19:04Speaker 2: and call data.
- 19:05Speaker 3: No, she would need Troy to do it. Yeah, she
- 19:08Speaker 3: would need to try to do it.
- 19:09Speaker 2: That's that's the one thing that makes me laugh over
- 19:11Speaker 2: hearing Taylor sometimes of like his his girls will just
- 19:16Speaker 2: call him and yeah.
- 19:17Speaker 1: They'll have nothing to say, yeah, hey that I just
- 19:21Speaker 1: want to sit and just want to sit and hang
- 19:23Speaker 1: on the phone.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Will just be staring down there.
- 19:25Speaker 1: It's like she'll have the I bed and it'll just
- 19:26Speaker 1: be like it'll just be like this as she's like
- 19:28Speaker 1: looking down at me. I mean, hi, Brussell, how was
- 19:30Speaker 1: your day good? Or she'd just be like that's where
- 19:34Speaker 1: you know, the camera's just doing this the whole time,
- 19:37Speaker 1: and then she'll want to do she'd want to put
- 19:38Speaker 1: it down and do an activity.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Dad, Dad, watch me, watch me draw, And it'll just
- 19:42Speaker 3: be like this and I'll be pretending to watch you draw.
- 19:45Speaker 2: It just the Jill's cousin has a son that does
- 19:49Speaker 2: the same thing on FaceTime Shout out Easton and he
- 19:52Speaker 2: just has the heaviest toddler breathing, which just makes it
- 19:57Speaker 2: it's funnier. That's anything that you just did with the camera,
- 20:04Speaker 2: and then it's just.
- 20:09Speaker 3: Like so sweet was your day?
- 20:11Speaker 1: Good?
- 20:12Speaker 3: Hey, dad, that watched me jaw, Oh my gosh, that
- 20:14Speaker 3: looks so good.
- 20:17Speaker 2: It's like everything is just the best, like taking the
- 20:21Speaker 2: breath out of him, which, yeah, Scarlett's sorry to do
- 20:25Speaker 2: that when she drinks water. Dude, it makes me giggle.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Dude, just dude, is it not so funny.
- 20:35Speaker 2: She's just sitting there sucking on that straw And after
- 20:37Speaker 2: she gets done, it's like, I'm like, yeah, that was
- 20:44Speaker 2: a big that's a big step.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Then they'll have it and then they'll go right back
- 20:48Speaker 1: to the bag and just get right back to it. Dude,
- 20:55Speaker 1: Hey do you mane?
- 20:56Speaker 2: Yeah, you got it? Do it?
- 20:59Speaker 3: Do it?
- 21:00Speaker 2: We want to do some new dad comments. I got
- 21:02Speaker 2: some new dat comments.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Here, dude, let's do it.
- 21:06Speaker 2: I got one from our good friend Marlon Morris on Spotify.
- 21:10Speaker 2: He said, p T six ers new dad here. Name
- 21:13Speaker 2: my son after me, but nicknamed him Gator. He's fifteen
- 21:18Speaker 2: days old. Do he keep the nickname as he gets
- 21:21Speaker 2: into school or transition him into his rightful namesake, which
- 21:25Speaker 2: would be Marlon. Also, my wife didn't touch a diaper
- 21:29Speaker 2: for the first ten days. Good Marlin Senior.
- 21:33Speaker 3: I love Gator. Can you get that nickname like Gator?
- 21:37Speaker 3: What is it is? It's uh the other guys Gater
- 21:40Speaker 3: don't play Gator. Yeah, Geter, don't take no shit. Whose
- 21:44Speaker 3: baby's that? Gater?
- 21:50Speaker 2: Caater's bitches be wearing Jimmy's.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Yeah, Gator's bitches better be wearing Jimmy's. Oh, Getter never
- 21:59Speaker 3: been about that. I never have a bit about that great,
- 22:02Speaker 3: great comedy.
- 22:03Speaker 1: I got one here from my Ryan Sanita Sure Papa
- 22:09Speaker 1: Team six member OG listener, first time contributor. I want
- 22:12Speaker 1: to shout out Ryan jeff Jeffries, Jeff Reds. Jeffries don't
- 22:20Speaker 1: know rising through the ranks and getting promoted to Papa
- 22:23Speaker 1: Team six.
- 22:23Speaker 3: I believe he also has a dad lost a moment
- 22:25Speaker 3: he may be entering. Thank you for all you boys do.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Shout out Ryan Jeffrey or Ryan Jeff Reds.
- 22:32Speaker 3: Yeah, shout out either one.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Dude.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Welcome to Papa Team six, the best dad community in
- 22:37Speaker 1: all the sports right now.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Yes, sir bro. Also, also, I have to take it
- 22:43Speaker 2: back to Marlin really quick with the wild stray through
- 22:47Speaker 2: his wife at the end when it's feeling confident. Dude. Also,
- 22:53Speaker 2: my wife didn't touch a diaper for the first ten days.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Good good. What do I get Merrior change, I'll change
- 23:01Speaker 3: Gator the.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Gator Ray in Rockney on Spotify, I said. First time listener,
- 23:08Speaker 2: first time commenter, first time dad. Love the pod adding
- 23:12Speaker 2: it to my rotation. Just found out yesterday my wife
- 23:15Speaker 2: and I are having a baby girl in August. Congratulations Aiden.
- 23:20Speaker 2: What advice would you have for someone who grew up
- 23:24Speaker 2: in an all boy household as the biggest shell shock
- 23:27Speaker 2: of now being outnumbered?
- 23:29Speaker 1: Buddy, this is the ball, that's the wheelhouse right here.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Welcome to the boys, Welcome to the show. Willie c
- 23:37Speaker 1: oldest of there were three of us boys. My mom
- 23:40Speaker 1: had a lot of boy energy too. It felt like
- 23:43Speaker 1: she just knew how to operate with the men around
- 23:45Speaker 1: the house or the young boys around the house.
- 23:48Speaker 3: Dude, just brace yourself.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Man. Yeah, having a girl, it's one of those things
- 23:52Speaker 1: like you just feel clueless because again, you grew up
- 23:54Speaker 1: in a household where you're.
- 23:56Speaker 3: One of the brothers, or you're one of a few.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Brothers, whatever whatever number it was, and you're gonna be
- 24:02Speaker 1: way softer than you think.
- 24:03Speaker 3: You think.
- 24:04Speaker 1: He might be a little tough, he might be a
- 24:05Speaker 1: little hard. No, she's gonna break you down. She's gonna
- 24:08Speaker 1: be wrapped around your finger. You're gonna be such You're
- 24:10Speaker 1: going to unlock a side of sweetheartness that you've never
- 24:14Speaker 1: understood or imagined.
- 24:15Speaker 3: That you could have.
- 24:16Speaker 1: And it's honestly, it is the greatest thing in the world.
- 24:22Speaker 2: I could not agree with you more. And something that
- 24:25Speaker 2: I find myself saying more and more to Jill is
- 24:30Speaker 2: how happy I am that we have a daughter, or
- 24:32Speaker 2: that we have a daughter and I do not have
- 24:35Speaker 2: a son. Obviously, I don't know what that's like. I
- 24:38Speaker 2: grew up similar to will a household boys, a lot
- 24:41Speaker 2: of boy energy. There's just my brother and I and
- 24:46Speaker 2: so far, so good with being out numbered, and I'm
- 24:49Speaker 2: I'm honestly kind of looking forward to the you know,
- 24:54Speaker 2: being the dad that makes a joke and it's like dad,
- 24:57Speaker 2: what are we doing? Like yeah, you fall dad. That
- 25:01Speaker 2: sometimes is a little awkward. And I'm already seeing the
- 25:06Speaker 2: riding on the wall with all the ribbons and all
- 25:08Speaker 2: the outfits, and if a boy is in the future,
- 25:11Speaker 2: I would be very very happy. But I like, weirdly,
- 25:15Speaker 2: it was a shell shock for a couple of seconds,
- 25:18Speaker 2: but then I just kind of sat nicely into my
- 25:21Speaker 2: job as being the man of the house. I guess
- 25:24Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 25:25Speaker 3: Yeah, no, do not feel alone.
- 25:27Speaker 1: That was honestly a conversation that I would have with
- 25:30Speaker 1: myself all the time. It's like, man, am I going
- 25:32Speaker 1: to have any clue what to do with the girl?
- 25:35Speaker 1: Because again I haven't known, I don't have a sister,
- 25:38Speaker 1: I don't none of it. Again, we talk about we
- 25:42Speaker 1: quote Dan Gable every week like we were like.
- 25:45Speaker 3: A wrestling football. We were all sports.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Like it was a boy household through and through, and
- 25:50Speaker 1: so I had all the same fears.
- 25:52Speaker 3: When a girl was coming into my world. The only
- 25:54Speaker 3: things I like, I would stop and hit pause on.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Unfortunately my wife we were kind of eye to eye
- 25:58Speaker 1: with it. But anything with like.
- 25:59Speaker 3: That's like like, oh.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Man, I was about to say too girly, and now
- 26:03Speaker 1: I'm thinking of room dressing and princess dresses all the time,
- 26:06Speaker 1: but like the dolls are anything that seems like it's
- 26:09Speaker 1: like too pink.
- 26:10Speaker 3: At first, I don't know, I.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Don't know what it was, but it's like, you know,
- 26:15Speaker 1: we need we need to molder some way with some grit.
- 26:18Speaker 1: I say grit right now, thinking that Queen ELSI is
- 26:21Speaker 1: the number one princess or queen in her mind. But
- 26:24Speaker 1: you think all of these sayings, you think where you
- 26:26Speaker 1: might be a little resistant.
- 26:27Speaker 3: I'm not gonna know how to you know, change the diaper.
- 26:30Speaker 3: It looks a little bit like I'm just I'm not
- 26:31Speaker 3: in the.
- 26:32Speaker 1: World of being around like women I do. I wasn't
- 26:35Speaker 1: around women like that when I grew up. But it
- 26:39Speaker 1: is it's one where you are, you are stoked to
- 26:43Speaker 1: be a girl dad. And it's come from a guy
- 26:45Speaker 1: who would love to have some offspring, love would.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Love to have somebody carry be the heir to the throne.
- 26:52Speaker 1: And it's like if it never happens, I just think
- 26:54Speaker 1: about the two little girls that I have and how
- 26:56Speaker 1: I'm just absolutely obsessed with them.
- 26:58Speaker 3: And there's also a part of.
- 26:59Speaker 1: Me too because I love to get all dad's feedback
- 27:03Speaker 1: or parent feedback really from the dads where they have
- 27:05Speaker 1: both a boy and a girl. Because any any dad
- 27:08Speaker 1: that I talk to and they say that they have
- 27:10Speaker 1: a girl on the way, or they just had a
- 27:12Speaker 1: girl recently, or they are currently have a girl, Like
- 27:15Speaker 1: my first question is how much is daughter number one
- 27:18Speaker 1: in your eyes? And the answer across the board is
- 27:20Speaker 1: always yes, like the girl is. It's like the opposites attracting,
- 27:25Speaker 1: Like the girl becomes your favorite thing in life.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Period.
- 27:30Speaker 2: That makes all the sense in the world. And to
- 27:34Speaker 2: make him feel at ease, our friend the asked how
- 27:37Speaker 2: I put the card away? Sorry, I think it was aiden,
- 27:41Speaker 2: but aiden to make you feel at ease, I by
- 27:45Speaker 2: no means have mastered being a girl dad. Like, I
- 27:47Speaker 2: know that this is a continuation of being out of
- 27:50Speaker 2: my element for the rest of my life. But there
- 27:53Speaker 2: it's just like this weird, comfortable feeling that you kind
- 27:56Speaker 2: of have about it. I don't know if that makes sense.
- 28:00Speaker 3: Like it was the right thing for your life.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Yeah, like yeah, like I have no idea what the
- 28:06Speaker 2: future is going to look like as far as being
- 28:09Speaker 2: a girl dad, and but like I'm just so excited
- 28:11Speaker 2: for it. And dude, Scarlett's hair is just sprouting like
- 28:16Speaker 2: a weed right now, like truly to the point where
- 28:20Speaker 2: the daycare people that see her every other day each
- 28:24Speaker 2: time I come in, they're like, her hair, it's wild.
- 28:27Speaker 2: I'm like, I know it is, like it's the cutest
- 28:31Speaker 2: thing in the entire world, but it infuriates me because
- 28:33Speaker 2: I'm like, you're growing, like stop growing.
- 28:38Speaker 3: I know, dude, there was a.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Here, I got a I'm gonna shout out another new
- 28:43Speaker 1: dad here on Spotify. Drew Underscore Williamson wife, He and
- 28:46Speaker 1: I welcomed our firstborn Emmy Kate to the world today.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Was rocking the PT six Operation Grill and Grill and
- 28:53Speaker 1: Chill shirt the entire time. Mama crushed it and when
- 28:56Speaker 1: twelve hours from start to finish, thank you boys for
- 28:58Speaker 1: the pod. Yeah, and looking forward to up in the
- 29:00Speaker 1: PT six merch and joining the girl Dad gang. By
- 29:03Speaker 1: the way, all the Papa Team six for the Dad's
- 29:05Speaker 1: merch that is on BWTV dot com. So if you're
- 29:07Speaker 1: looking at yourself in the Poppa Team six permanently in
- 29:11Speaker 1: the unit BWTV dot com, that's where you get the
- 29:13Speaker 1: PT six merch.
- 29:15Speaker 3: But what I was going to say.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Right here too, new baby girl. So Drew Williamson, he's
- 29:21Speaker 1: a he's a girl dad as well. So all the
- 29:23Speaker 1: fellow girl dad's out there.
- 29:24Speaker 3: I was, I forget.
- 29:25Speaker 1: We're at a restaurant and a gentleman was was observing
- 29:30Speaker 1: the fan. We're kind of like having fun, like Scotty's
- 29:32Speaker 1: being a menace, you know, Rue, I'm sitting there talking
- 29:35Speaker 1: with rue. I started talking to this gentleman and he's like,
- 29:39Speaker 1: both girls, Like you just have two girls.
- 29:40Speaker 3: I'm like, yeah, girl, Day's like, I got a couple.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Of girls too, but they're they're long, they're they're much older,
- 29:45Speaker 1: like they're out of the house now. And uh, I
- 29:48Speaker 1: just asked this veteran PT sixer. I was like, hey,
- 29:52Speaker 1: just cut it to me straight. I say, how long
- 29:56Speaker 1: do I have with my girls before I am you know,
- 30:02Speaker 1: before they start not liking me? And he's like he
- 30:07Speaker 1: looked over at me, got a little smirk on his
- 30:10Speaker 1: face and he says, you got about eleven years. You
- 30:13Speaker 1: got about eleven years, man.
- 30:16Speaker 3: And I llowed.
- 30:17Speaker 1: I go, oh man, we can't even get to thirteen.
- 30:19Speaker 1: We can't even get to the teenage years. He said,
- 30:21Speaker 1: it was eleven for me, eleven for me. They hate
- 30:25Speaker 1: your guts, they.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Don't want nothing to do with you.
- 30:27Speaker 1: And then as he tells me, it's like again the
- 30:29Speaker 1: noise gets quieter. I'm just looking at ruined Scotty and
- 30:32Speaker 1: I'm like, how do these little human beings that they
- 30:37Speaker 1: love mom and dad right now, we love them, how
- 30:40Speaker 1: do they get to eleven or how do they get
- 30:43Speaker 1: to an age, were these two little things that are
- 30:45Speaker 1: obsessed with me.
- 30:46Speaker 3: Right now they just stop wanting anything to do with me.
- 30:49Speaker 2: And then, but thankfully, like the light at the end
- 30:52Speaker 2: of the tunnel for me is the comments that we've
- 30:54Speaker 2: gotten from int six ers that are, like, my dad
- 30:58Speaker 2: is my best friend. I talked to them every day,
- 31:01Speaker 2: you know, blah blah blah. Like there's a I feel
- 31:04Speaker 2: like there's a point in a girl's life where then
- 31:07Speaker 2: dad is cool again and we're coming back to dad.
- 31:10Speaker 2: But it's a different kind of relationship. It's like a
- 31:13Speaker 2: different condo.
- 31:14Speaker 1: You bring up a good you bring up a good
- 31:17Speaker 1: point here too, and I would love again Milk Team six,
- 31:21Speaker 1: Oh love an empty six or that's out there right
- 31:23Speaker 1: now listen because we know.
- 31:24Speaker 3: It's it's hormones and things happening with the body. Dada, YadA, YadA.
- 31:27Speaker 1: Yeah, if they can break down certain stages, please forr
- 31:31Speaker 1: us PT six girl dead fathers out there on why
- 31:34Speaker 1: it happens. Is there anything that we can look out for,
- 31:37Speaker 1: try to do you.
- 31:39Speaker 3: Know what I mean, to try to pump the ball, keep.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Kicking the can down the road, or try to have
- 31:43Speaker 1: as less friction as possible.
- 31:46Speaker 2: And hey, I'm okay with you hate me. Is there
- 31:49Speaker 2: steps that I can take where you will hate me less?
- 31:52Speaker 2: That's all?
- 31:52Speaker 4: Yeah, looking for kind of throw a theory out there.
- 31:56Speaker 5: Perhaps when it comes back around and all of a sudden,
- 31:58Speaker 5: it's no longer like I hate dad. It's no longer
- 32:01Speaker 5: that dad is cool or not. It doesn't matter if
- 32:05Speaker 5: Dad or cool or not. He's just dad.
- 32:07Speaker 4: Does that make sense?
- 32:08Speaker 5: Yeah, Like it stops becoming so important like oh, you're
- 32:11Speaker 5: so uncool.
- 32:12Speaker 4: It's like, oh you're you're my father.
- 32:15Speaker 2: And then yeah, and I love you and you help
- 32:17Speaker 2: guide me.
- 32:19Speaker 3: I can you got any crushes at school? You know
- 32:23Speaker 3: what I'm saying. Then you get these combos and they
- 32:24Speaker 3: ain't gonna want to tell you nothing.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Man.
- 32:28Speaker 2: By the way, I just I just got a picture
- 32:30Speaker 2: from the daycare. They're putting all the kiddos and these
- 32:35Speaker 2: are all one and a half and younger in Scarlet's class, yea,
- 32:39Speaker 2: And they put them in this uh stroller that's like
- 32:43Speaker 2: a six seater, so it's like two three rows of two.
- 32:50Speaker 2: Scarlet's in the front and they put him next to
- 32:52Speaker 2: the only boy in the class. And the daycare has
- 32:56Speaker 2: a messaging system that they could have very easily reached
- 32:58Speaker 2: out to me and been like, hey, okay if we partner.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Scarlet up at the front seat next to the only
- 33:04Speaker 2: boy in the class. I was like, what's going on here?
- 33:06Speaker 3: Hey? What are we doing in your mind? Sending me
- 33:08Speaker 3: a screenshot of his ID?
- 33:10Speaker 2: Let's go ahead and get his parents info too.
- 33:13Speaker 3: Yeah kind of milk? What kind of milk is he drinking?
- 33:22Speaker 2: You're looking at the picture? What's going on? What's going
- 33:27Speaker 2: on with his face?
- 33:28Speaker 4: What's going on with that?
- 33:29Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, always he in there. Yeah, he looks like
- 33:33Speaker 3: he's mad at her? What's he mad at her?
- 33:35Speaker 2: But it's already it's already starting. It's already starting. And
- 33:39Speaker 2: Scarlett looked like she was having way too much fun
- 33:41Speaker 2: with them in the front row.
- 33:42Speaker 1: It's like, yeah, here we go, dude, I'll shout this
- 33:46Speaker 1: book out.
- 33:47Speaker 3: I'll shut this book out again. But strong Father, Strong Daughters.
- 33:50Speaker 1: There's a lot of some of these breakdowns to what
- 33:53Speaker 1: you know, the ladies that your girls are going through,
- 33:57Speaker 1: like when they're getting through high school and the stuff
- 33:59Speaker 1: that they deal with.
- 34:00Speaker 3: It is a.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Fascinating, eye opening, mind opening read that I strongly recommend
- 34:07Speaker 1: to any girl that out there. But I would also
- 34:09Speaker 1: love the perspective from just an empty six route right
- 34:12Speaker 1: out there right now that's listening to you know what,
- 34:14Speaker 1: Let me let me put the fingers to the keyboard
- 34:16Speaker 1: for these boys, give them some game a little bit.
- 34:18Speaker 2: Absolutely, while we're speaking to the empty sixers, I did
- 34:22Speaker 2: have a thought the other day and this isn't so
- 34:25Speaker 2: much a challenge as more so it would just be unreal.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Our pt siko community has blessed us enough and grace
- 34:34Speaker 2: us enough with these photos of them, you know, carrying
- 34:38Speaker 2: out like those Duna strollers after they've had their first
- 34:41Speaker 2: boor and they're wearing our PT six merch. Yeah, bro,
- 34:46Speaker 2: a Milk Team sixer in the hospital with the empty
- 34:52Speaker 2: six hat on post delivery and of course ready for
- 34:56Speaker 2: the camera, you.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Know, empty six this one.
- 34:59Speaker 2: Oh yeah, like, oh no I received one yet, I'm saying.
- 35:05Speaker 3: Oh, he's telling me that we were Oh.
- 35:07Speaker 1: Dude, okay, yeah, yeah, you're talking about like the one
- 35:11Speaker 1: we read twelve hours start to finish, grinding it out.
- 35:14Speaker 1: She's got twelve hours and she's walking the Milk Team six.
- 35:17Speaker 2: That is a sick Oh dude, that's a sick.
- 35:21Speaker 6: Oh.
- 35:22Speaker 1: I'm envisioning, uh beat these exert dad out there. They're
- 35:26Speaker 1: about to go into labor, and he just, hey, I
- 35:28Speaker 1: know you asked me if there's anything that I wanted
- 35:30Speaker 1: to do with the with the with the birth plan
- 35:32Speaker 1: or anything.
- 35:33Speaker 3: All I got. He just he's got his he off.
- 35:35Speaker 3: He just pulls out. He's like, can you wear this?
- 35:38Speaker 3: Why you deliver?
- 35:40Speaker 2: He's coming out, He's on the leg.
- 35:45Speaker 3: Put that on, get this. Just let me get the picture.
- 35:49Speaker 2: Let me get the picture right now, Willie, what's so?
- 35:57Speaker 2: Look at us? Good?
- 35:59Speaker 3: I just yeah, I just gotta tweet the boys. That's
- 36:02Speaker 3: he just tweeted.
- 36:04Speaker 1: I actually got a wifey shout out right here from
- 36:06Speaker 1: Colin Krigger on Spotify. Colin Krigger, I'm sure that was
- 36:10Speaker 1: a fun name growing up. Fellas love the pod and
- 36:14Speaker 1: never miss aesode. Just wanted to hop on here and
- 36:16Speaker 1: say shout out to my beautiful empty sicko of a
- 36:20Speaker 1: wife with the emoji dash oh empty sicco of a wife,
- 36:24Speaker 1: Mikayla as it's her birthday on the fourth of February
- 36:28Speaker 1: right now it is third, so when this drops, hey,
- 36:31Speaker 1: happy birth birthday, Mickayla.
- 36:35Speaker 3: Ps.
- 36:35Speaker 1: No free shout outs, but love but the love to
- 36:39Speaker 1: dream sleep Sack is the best and it makes your
- 36:42Speaker 1: baby look like a flying squirrel.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Whoa hold the phone, Love.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Hold the phone, little dad hack in there with the
- 36:50Speaker 1: wifey shout out to Michayla.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Happy birthday, Nayla, Hey love to dream sleepsack. We gotta
- 36:57Speaker 2: we gotta pull up an image of that in the pod.
- 37:01Speaker 2: Oh that is cute and it does look like a
- 37:04Speaker 2: flying squirreld. That's a perfect description, dude. We have a
- 37:11Speaker 2: really awesome shout out as well. This one came to
- 37:14Speaker 2: us from Instagram. This came from Jake Perfurio. Uh. He
- 37:21Speaker 2: wrote to us and said, what's up, boys, just wanted
- 37:23Speaker 2: to share my crack a cold one. He's got to
- 37:26Speaker 2: crack a cold one. My sweet baby girl. Frankie, who
- 37:30Speaker 2: was born with clubfoot, finally graduated to boot and Bar
- 37:35Speaker 2: and could not be more proud of you boys who
- 37:39Speaker 2: inspired me to be a good father. Keep it up
- 37:42Speaker 2: hashtag PT six And he provided this adorable photo.
- 37:48Speaker 3: Feed at two in the email right now and shout
- 37:50Speaker 3: out to you, Jake. That is that is awesome.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Frank for you, Frankie, I know you can't hear so
- 37:57Speaker 1: understand this right now, but Frankie, we love you.
- 37:59Speaker 3: We are far enough for you.
- 38:01Speaker 2: We love you, girl. I love the I love the bow.
- 38:04Speaker 2: I love the little pink padding that she has for
- 38:06Speaker 2: the boots.
- 38:09Speaker 3: Oh my god, adorable. How do you just not smile?
- 38:13Speaker 3: Oh dude, seeing that little cute photo, she's so stoked. Yeah,
- 38:19Speaker 3: with a little certification right next to.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Her in the heart over the eye too.
- 38:25Speaker 3: Yeah, that's awesome. Man. Shout out Frankie, Shout out Jake,
- 38:28Speaker 3: shout out the family.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Willie see not to rush us through, but speaking, I
- 38:33Speaker 2: got to keep it under an hour. Speaking of crack
- 38:35Speaker 2: of cold ones, do you have a crack of cold one?
- 38:38Speaker 3: Sir?
- 38:39Speaker 2: Brought to us by ollipop?
- 38:41Speaker 1: My crack a cold one. I look, I'm going to
- 38:49Speaker 1: keep it a buck. My crack of cold one is
- 38:52Speaker 1: just going to my wife. I know it is shitty
- 38:55Speaker 1: that I am out of the house all week long
- 38:58Speaker 1: for five nights when the power is out.
- 39:01Speaker 3: Power still out, were still running on the generator. Thank god.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Power got brought back to Paddock Place, one of her
- 39:07Speaker 1: bar three studios.
- 39:09Speaker 3: Good but again new house. She's her and the girls.
- 39:14Speaker 3: She does get it help in the daytime.
- 39:16Speaker 1: But I know how strenuous and stressful it is when
- 39:21Speaker 1: you know whether it's any foot like whether mom's out
- 39:24Speaker 1: of town or just your spouse, your partner in crime
- 39:27Speaker 1: is out for an entire week for a work thing.
- 39:30Speaker 3: I know that sucks. I know it is like it's
- 39:34Speaker 3: like a what can you do? Situation?
- 39:36Speaker 1: Because you know you're one you want your other to
- 39:39Speaker 1: go do their thing and work and have fun. And
- 39:41Speaker 1: she hopes I'm having the best time right now, but
- 39:43Speaker 1: I know that she's just she's trying to wear all
- 39:45Speaker 1: the hats at home, and I know that sucks, and
- 39:47Speaker 1: I know that's hard, and I've had little to no
- 39:50Speaker 1: complaining on my phone, but so my shutout goes to
- 39:54Speaker 1: my wife, Charles. I. I just know she's holding it
- 39:57Speaker 1: down right now. I just know she's in a gutter with.
- 40:00Speaker 7: Some of it being mom, being the owner of a business,
- 40:05Speaker 7: being you know, the parent for Rue, the parent for Scottie,
- 40:08Speaker 7: the needs of both of them, dinner, bedtime, changing diapers,
- 40:13Speaker 7: picking up.
- 40:13Speaker 3: The house, organizing that, organizing the house. Hey, there's a
- 40:16Speaker 3: yellow back light happening right now with the generator.
- 40:19Speaker 1: What does that mean? Going and checking the oil? Like
- 40:22Speaker 1: just doing all the things being a certified badass. I
- 40:25Speaker 1: know it sucks and it's not ideal. So that is
- 40:28Speaker 1: where my crack of cole One goes. It goes to
- 40:29Speaker 1: my wife, Charro, and I know what we got. I
- 40:32Speaker 1: think across the hall in the other suite where we're
- 40:34Speaker 1: doing busting with the boys, I saw I saw a
- 40:37Speaker 1: case of Chris Bapple in there. So I need to
- 40:39Speaker 1: get my paws on.
- 40:40Speaker 2: Say hey, yo, they sent Ollipop to San Francisco.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Yes, a big bag, big bag with a lot of variety.
- 40:48Speaker 1: Come on, I saw Chris Bapple sitting there at the top.
- 40:50Speaker 1: It was looking at me in the face last night.
- 40:52Speaker 2: Come on, A huge shout out to Charo. There is
- 40:56Speaker 2: nothing more impressive than seeing your partner operate like that,
- 41:02Speaker 2: and there's nothing more. I don't think humbling is the
- 41:06Speaker 2: right word, but like it's you're so thankful.
- 41:10Speaker 1: Yeah, because again, when when you're gone for periods of time,
- 41:13Speaker 1: like as a parent, there is guilt that just kind.
- 41:16Speaker 3: Of sits on you. Yes, because you know, like I'm.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Out here in San Francisco, I know, from from far
- 41:22Speaker 1: away in the cold weather in Nashville where there's still
- 41:24Speaker 1: like stuff going on and everything else happening.
- 41:27Speaker 3: You see the photos, the videos.
- 41:28Speaker 1: We're out doing stuff around the Super Bowl, like one
- 41:31Speaker 1: of the most popular events in the world right here
- 41:34Speaker 1: in the sunshine.
- 41:35Speaker 3: You're seeing all the photos. I'm sure there's some not
- 41:38Speaker 3: like intentional.
- 41:39Speaker 1: Resentment, but you probably should probably watched it from afar, Like, well,
- 41:42Speaker 1: at least Will's having fun. Yeah, and it's not like
- 41:44Speaker 1: a comment she brings to any energy when we get
- 41:46Speaker 1: on the phone. I'm just assuming that some of these
- 41:49Speaker 1: things probably go on as a parent.
- 41:52Speaker 2: Yeah. It that honestly bleeds right into my crack, a
- 41:57Speaker 2: cold one, like the being a good teammate. I came
- 42:02Speaker 2: home the other night and Jill pre she meal preps
- 42:09Speaker 2: for Scarlet, who is starting solids. I come home last
- 42:13Speaker 2: night with Scarlet and Jill's it was her ten o'clock
- 42:16Speaker 2: shift that she does every other Monday, and I open
- 42:19Speaker 2: up the fridge and there are no pre made meals.
- 42:23Speaker 2: And I'm about to start calling Jill, texting her asking
- 42:26Speaker 2: her what do I do while she's at work, And
- 42:29Speaker 2: I just start telling myself internally, be a good teammate,
- 42:32Speaker 2: Be a good teammate, like step up, we got a
- 42:34Speaker 2: problem solve. Where are we doing All of our groceries
- 42:37Speaker 2: from the week before we had to throw them out
- 42:39Speaker 2: and now We did go visit Costco, but we didn't
- 42:42Speaker 2: get like the fruits and veggies at Costco. We're still
- 42:45Speaker 2: a little weak in that department. So I'm shopping through
- 42:48Speaker 2: all of our drawers. I find one apple and I
- 42:52Speaker 2: was like, hey, Scarlet's done apple sauce with mom. You know,
- 42:56Speaker 2: I skin it, I'll chop it, I'll put some water
- 42:59Speaker 2: and blend it. That's apple sauce.
- 43:01Speaker 3: Will be good.
- 43:02Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, you got it, some apple sauce because apple.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Sauce going And I uh, I get it all done,
- 43:10Speaker 2: and Jill goes, hey, what'd you end up feeding Scarlet,
- 43:14Speaker 2: probably remembering oh, I didn't pre make anything. And I
- 43:17Speaker 2: was like, oh, she's loving the apple sauce. And her
- 43:19Speaker 2: first replies, just where did you get that, knowing we
- 43:24Speaker 2: had no apple sauce, And I was like, I made it.
- 43:28Speaker 2: Dad has made it. And I got a look at
- 43:31Speaker 2: Dad as with the eyes of eye emoji, and I.
- 43:34Speaker 1: Was like, yeahbuddy, let's go dudeyh buddy.
- 43:38Speaker 2: But the real krack of cole one in that situation
- 43:41Speaker 2: then goes to the absolute domination that my daughter performed
- 43:45Speaker 2: on the bowl of said apple sauce. Scarlet destroyed it. Dude,
- 43:50Speaker 2: like she she's truly starting to like consume the food.
- 43:54Speaker 2: And when I scoop it, the mouth is already. First off,
- 43:58Speaker 2: she does a little and then the mouth gut. She's ready.
- 44:03Speaker 1: You play with her a little bit to where it's
- 44:05Speaker 1: close and you kind of pull it away.
- 44:09Speaker 2: No, no, no, and then she starts grabbing and she's like,
- 44:12Speaker 2: this is a this is not a game.
- 44:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I want my apple, but yeah, my.
- 44:19Speaker 2: Crack at cole one goes to that. I don't think
- 44:22Speaker 2: I touched on it earlier, so I'll touch on it now.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Ollipop guys, you get a free can of ollipop if
- 44:28Speaker 2: you buy any two cans in store, they will pay
- 44:32Speaker 2: you back for one that works on any flavor at
- 44:35Speaker 2: any retailer. Go to drinkollipop dot com, forward slash bwtb
- 44:41Speaker 2: Ollipop is sold online at drinkollipop dot com and Amazon,
- 44:46Speaker 2: and it is available in the soda aisle and with
- 44:50Speaker 2: the chilled beverages at thousands of retailers nationwide, including Walmart
- 44:55Speaker 2: and Target.
- 44:58Speaker 5: Willie see, oh, chef, I've got a question for you.
- 45:01Speaker 5: I meant to ask this while we're on the topic
- 45:04Speaker 5: of like sacrifice and everything else. I saw a tweet
- 45:08Speaker 5: from you responding to the situation with the Minnesota Vikings
- 45:13Speaker 5: GM talking about how he took paternity leave. Oh yeah,
- 45:16Speaker 5: a really profound statement on that, and I wanted you
- 45:19Speaker 5: to talk about, like.
- 45:22Speaker 4: Give yourself a little cup.
- 45:23Speaker 5: You got flack for it, which kind of caught me
- 45:25Speaker 5: off guard on Twitter, talking about like the amount of
- 45:28Speaker 5: sacrifice it takes to be an NFL player play at
- 45:31Speaker 5: high level of any professional sport, and I thought that
- 45:33Speaker 5: was just super interesting if you wanted to kind of
- 45:35Speaker 5: touch on it.
- 45:37Speaker 3: What, yeah, let me let me.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Answer by asking you a question first, because there's there's
- 45:41Speaker 1: just it's so nuanced and there's different angles to go
- 45:45Speaker 1: about it. Like when I'm responding to that tweet that
- 45:49Speaker 1: went out, it's almost like a shell shock or a
- 45:53Speaker 1: you know, morality police is trying to partake and like, hey,
- 45:57Speaker 1: we should judge this like this says more about the
- 45:59Speaker 1: ENFL culture than it does, you know, it says a
- 46:02Speaker 1: lot about you know, the culture of the NFL, which
- 46:05Speaker 1: is catches people off guard.
- 46:08Speaker 3: And my take was more of like.
- 46:11Speaker 1: My take was more from the angle of this is
- 46:16Speaker 1: the business of the NFL, Like I don't envy.
- 46:23Speaker 3: Coaches, gms, even now since I've had kids and became
- 46:27Speaker 3: a dad.
- 46:28Speaker 1: Fortunately, after I'm done playing, I think to myself, knowing
- 46:33Speaker 1: like what we pour into our kiddos, knowing how involved
- 46:37Speaker 1: I get to be, how attached I am to them,
- 46:39Speaker 1: I think myself, Man, it's got to be so hard
- 46:43Speaker 1: for you know, dads that are in the NFL profession,
- 46:47Speaker 1: because that world.
- 46:49Speaker 3: You have to prioritize that world.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Essentially, if you're looking at hours put in, you have
- 46:57Speaker 1: to prioritize your.
- 46:58Speaker 3: Work in the NFL more than you do your family.
- 47:01Speaker 3: And that's just like the way it is, like people
- 47:04Speaker 3: are going back.
- 47:05Speaker 1: And forth saying, you know, he was granted paternity leave
- 47:09Speaker 1: for two weeks. They were completely okay with it, so
- 47:12Speaker 1: he should be afforded to have that luxury. Well, you
- 47:15Speaker 1: have that luxury until you have a bad season. So
- 47:19Speaker 1: the fact that he's having a bad season and then
- 47:22Speaker 1: he gets fired probably for much bigger reasons than paternity leave.
- 47:27Speaker 1: But knowing those conversations happen inside the building and now
- 47:30Speaker 1: they're getting leaked to the public, it's not surprising to
- 47:33Speaker 1: me because that is essentially it's honorable and admirable. All
- 47:38Speaker 1: the sacrifices that everybody makes you know to play, to
- 47:43Speaker 1: play and participate in the NFL because it's big business.
- 47:47Speaker 3: It's all performance, it's all about winning.
- 47:50Speaker 1: And you got guys who you do nothing but identify
- 47:54Speaker 1: with the NFL logo essentially your entire life because you
- 47:59Speaker 1: identify with playing football. Because I had another I had
- 48:01Speaker 1: somebody come after me, and I'm like, you know, being
- 48:04Speaker 1: becoming a father after playing. In retrospect, I'm now happy
- 48:09Speaker 1: that I look back and I'm now glad that I
- 48:12Speaker 1: didn't have.
- 48:13Speaker 3: Kids while I was playing. Because you're so wrapped.
- 48:16Speaker 1: Up in your own world, in your own game, you
- 48:19Speaker 1: gotta remember you got to think. And I'm not trying
- 48:21Speaker 1: to put it as hey the NFL, playing in the NFL,
- 48:23Speaker 1: it's the biggest sacrifice out there in the world.
- 48:25Speaker 3: I'm not saying any of that. I'm just trying to
- 48:27Speaker 3: tell people.
- 48:27Speaker 1: That this is none of it is surprising to me
- 48:30Speaker 1: that this is how stuff goes down because that is
- 48:33Speaker 1: the world of the NFL.
- 48:35Speaker 3: Like just to.
- 48:37Speaker 1: Remind people, like when you are when you do nothing
- 48:40Speaker 1: but play football, since for myself it was second grade,
- 48:45Speaker 1: so I did nothing but identify with.
- 48:47Speaker 3: Any time it is hey, what is your dream job?
- 48:50Speaker 3: What do you want your dream job to be when
- 48:51Speaker 3: you grow up?
- 48:52Speaker 1: In grade school, whenever I'm answering that question for like,
- 48:56Speaker 1: you know, what's your future, what do you want when
- 48:58Speaker 1: you grow up? What do you want to be when
- 48:59Speaker 1: you grow up? It was always NFL player, not password.
- 49:03Speaker 1: But like when they ask you what's your dream job
- 49:06Speaker 1: on you know, if I had it on any of
- 49:08Speaker 1: my accounts, it would be NFL player. Like I identified with
- 49:12Speaker 1: football my entire life. So when I get scholarship ball
- 49:17Speaker 1: first coming out of high school, there's a sensu They
- 49:19Speaker 1: get so wrapped up in it to where you have
- 49:22Speaker 1: to You're making all these decisions based around yourself. I
- 49:25Speaker 1: need to go to the best school. I can't worry
- 49:27Speaker 1: about this. I can't worry about my family or people
- 49:29Speaker 1: asking for tickets. I got to keep the main thing
- 49:30Speaker 1: the main thing at all times because I'm trying to
- 49:32Speaker 1: become a professional football player.
- 49:35Speaker 3: Then you finally become a professional football player.
- 49:38Speaker 1: In our brains and how we've operated essentially our entire
- 49:41Speaker 1: life to get to this point is the entire world
- 49:44Speaker 1: is about us and about our dream and about what
- 49:47Speaker 1: we want to do. And any football player, anybody in
- 49:50Speaker 1: that profession who has a family or has a wife
- 49:52Speaker 1: that wife. That's why you have guys like Joe Brady
- 49:54Speaker 1: up there, and again, massive fan of Joe Brady.
- 49:57Speaker 3: But it's like, I just.
- 49:58Speaker 1: Don't envy being in that spot because I just now
- 50:02Speaker 1: that I've tasted this other side of it, now that
- 50:04Speaker 1: i have kids in a family.
- 50:06Speaker 3: And I'm out of the football world.
- 50:07Speaker 1: Right now, I'm just like, man, it has got to
- 50:09Speaker 1: be so hard to where the entire world is still
- 50:13Speaker 1: around him being, you know, chasing this goal, this dream
- 50:17Speaker 1: to win a championship, when mom has just got to
- 50:20Speaker 1: essentially sacrifice everything all around this their partner because they're
- 50:25Speaker 1: off chasing their dream, chasing their goal. Because you know,
- 50:29Speaker 1: as a dad, how much work it is at home
- 50:32Speaker 1: when you're at home with the kiddos with your partner,
- 50:35Speaker 1: or when they're out of town and you're taking care
- 50:37Speaker 1: of them solo. Then I'm reminding myself, like, yo, this
- 50:40Speaker 1: is every day for these moms that have to stay
- 50:42Speaker 1: at home and we're off doing practice or you know,
- 50:44Speaker 1: you might come home and have an Oh, dude, sweetheart,
- 50:46Speaker 1: it was a long day. Coach got in my ass.
- 50:49Speaker 1: I have to watch film for tomorrow. You have your
- 50:51Speaker 1: little few minutes with the kids to check in with
- 50:53Speaker 1: your kiddos. But then it's like, you know, hey, can
- 50:55Speaker 1: somebody else put them to sleep, or hey, I'll do bedtime.
- 50:57Speaker 1: But the minute I do bedtime, I got to get
- 50:59Speaker 1: back to studying because I go to get ready for
- 51:00Speaker 1: the next day tomorrow.
- 51:01Speaker 3: Then the next day tomorrow, you're out of the house
- 51:03Speaker 3: before wake.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Up time even happens for everybody else, and you're going
- 51:06Speaker 1: all day long. But in that cycle, that is just
- 51:09Speaker 1: you don't know any different. That's why I said, it's like,
- 51:12Speaker 1: it's hard to explain I'm not able to have this
- 51:17Speaker 1: perspective now on it unless I got out of it.
- 51:20Speaker 3: Because when we had Rue, when year ten was happening,
- 51:24Speaker 3: the whole Falcons going off to the Falcons, and when
- 51:26Speaker 3: I was.
- 51:26Speaker 1: Going to sign with Atlanta, Rue was about seven or
- 51:29Speaker 1: eight weeks old, and a part of me struggled wanting
- 51:32Speaker 1: to go to Atlanta when I knew my heart wasn't
- 51:34Speaker 1: all the way in on wanting to play football anymore.
- 51:36Speaker 3: I was just doing it to get that tenth year.
- 51:38Speaker 1: Hey, I'm on, I'm playing with house money now, so
- 51:42Speaker 1: why not finish out this dream that I've always had
- 51:44Speaker 1: my wife.
- 51:45Speaker 3: Is super supportive of it. But part of me was like, man,
- 51:47Speaker 3: that kind of sucks.
- 51:48Speaker 1: That I have to leave and go to Atlanta and
- 51:50Speaker 1: I'm going to stay in Atlanta solo, because that's another thing.
- 51:53Speaker 1: Some of these guys that are on one year deals,
- 51:55Speaker 1: they just go to the city and they're living in
- 51:57Speaker 1: the city while the family stays back at home at
- 51:59Speaker 1: ground zero year or where the family's gonna be, or
- 52:01Speaker 1: where the kids go to school or where they're used
- 52:03Speaker 1: to their everyday life. They're just gonna go travel to
- 52:06Speaker 1: the city of football for six seven months out of
- 52:08Speaker 1: the year.
- 52:08Speaker 3: And that's just how it's gonna be because you guys
- 52:10Speaker 3: have just agreed upon it. Hey, this is how we're
- 52:12Speaker 3: going to do things.
- 52:13Speaker 1: But I was going to be in Atlanta the last
- 52:16Speaker 1: let's call it seven weeks.
- 52:18Speaker 3: It's gonna be Atlanta in the last seven weeks. But
- 52:20Speaker 3: part of me is like.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Sad, and also, damn it sucks for my wife that
- 52:26Speaker 1: she's going to be solo dolo with Rue and I'm
- 52:28Speaker 1: just gonna be playing football the rest of the year,
- 52:30Speaker 1: doing this thing and just checking in and everything else.
- 52:33Speaker 3: Like it's just super hard.
- 52:36Speaker 1: I know, I said, what angle do you want me
- 52:37Speaker 1: to go on if we're on a complete tangent in.
- 52:40Speaker 3: Rant right, there is. It's just it's very nuanced. It's
- 52:45Speaker 3: hard to explain.
- 52:47Speaker 1: I'm not surprised that there's internal disagreement with that GM
- 52:52Speaker 1: leaving for two weeks in the middle of training camp because.
- 52:55Speaker 3: You are the leader.
- 52:57Speaker 1: Trickles from GM down the head coach, staff, players, everything else,
- 53:01Speaker 1: and you might get afforded to miss a game or
- 53:06Speaker 1: miss a day of practice to go see the birth
- 53:09Speaker 1: of your child.
- 53:09Speaker 3: And be there with them that day. Maybe you get
- 53:11Speaker 3: an extra day.
- 53:12Speaker 1: It all depends what you can afford based on how
- 53:16Speaker 1: essentially valuable you are to that organization.
- 53:21Speaker 3: Does that make sense?
- 53:22Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of sense. Thank you for the part
- 53:24Speaker 2: that I think would be easy or like easier for
- 53:29Speaker 2: the people on Twitter, like the general public that just
- 53:33Speaker 2: like attacked your opinion essentially on being like, hey, this
- 53:38Speaker 2: is just the way the NFL is. And I am
- 53:40Speaker 2: not comparing the NFL to serving overseas in the military
- 53:44Speaker 2: or like working on right an oil rig, you know,
- 53:49Speaker 2: out in Midland, but like those are universal truths that
- 53:53Speaker 2: of like if I'm going to serve in the military,
- 53:56Speaker 2: if I'm going to be abroad, like I will most
- 53:58Speaker 2: likely miss a funeral, I will most likely miss the
- 54:02Speaker 2: birth of my child. If I'm working on an oil
- 54:05Speaker 2: rig out in Midland to make that money and afford
- 54:09Speaker 2: opportunities for my family, I will be four weeks on
- 54:12Speaker 2: in one week off. And that's just the way she goes.
- 54:16Speaker 2: And so it's like with the NFL, whether you like
- 54:19Speaker 2: it or not, it's just kind of the way she goes.
- 54:21Speaker 2: That's just the universal truth of the NFL.
- 54:25Speaker 3: You know it in that world too. It's what you
- 54:26Speaker 3: sign up for to participate in. Yeah, like that's like
- 54:30Speaker 3: that is that game. I'm not saying I agree with
- 54:33Speaker 3: that game. Yeah, I'm just all of these different variables.
- 54:38Speaker 1: I understand the head coaches and the players that you
- 54:42Speaker 1: know they give all the love to their wife when
- 54:44Speaker 1: they do have that moment in the spotlight or on
- 54:46Speaker 1: the podium, because you know, sitting back, I'm like, it
- 54:50Speaker 1: doesn't feel like the flex he probably thinks it is
- 54:53Speaker 1: now that I'm sitting on this side of it. Again,
- 54:56Speaker 1: that's where it comes from. I just don't envy that.
- 54:59Speaker 1: It's honestly, outside of having the bust with the boys
- 55:02Speaker 1: and podcasting. But if I didn't have podcasting, like coaching
- 55:05Speaker 1: would be what I wanted to do. Coaching was what
- 55:07Speaker 1: I wanted to do, But now that I have a family,
- 55:10Speaker 1: it's more of like, dude, if I want to get
- 55:13Speaker 1: into coaching in football in the NFL, college doesn't matter.
- 55:19Speaker 3: It's such a it's an ego thing to where I
- 55:22Speaker 3: am anybody who enters it. I'm not saying I'm many
- 55:25Speaker 3: different than.
- 55:25Speaker 1: Anybody else, but your competitive nature. What it takes to
- 55:29Speaker 1: be great in that industry is total fully fully committing
- 55:36Speaker 1: yourself to winning a championship.
- 55:38Speaker 3: You don't go in half ass, you don't.
- 55:39Speaker 1: Do any of that, and to do so, you have
- 55:42Speaker 1: to put in insane hours because you never feel like
- 55:46Speaker 1: the hay is in the barn. Yeah, so I always
- 55:48Speaker 1: it's like when those moments do come up and you've
- 55:52Speaker 1: got coach McDonald talking about how you practice gets done
- 55:55Speaker 1: sooner on Thursday so you can get home and spend
- 55:57Speaker 1: thirty to thirty minutes with the sun. And there's some
- 56:00Speaker 1: guys who are able to rework the strategy at times.
- 56:02Speaker 3: Like that is awesome.
- 56:03Speaker 1: The more time you can spend time with your family,
- 56:05Speaker 1: I think that is unbelievable. The GM who got fired
- 56:09Speaker 1: him taking two weeks. I'm all about.
- 56:11Speaker 3: Him being able to do that.
- 56:13Speaker 1: But then when you start losing, you're like, that's a
- 56:15Speaker 1: crazy move because a party who's always going to sit
- 56:18Speaker 1: there and like, hey, these are the hours that I'm
- 56:19Speaker 1: going to work in the moment you feel behind the
- 56:21Speaker 1: competition or anybody else, And then the story comes out
- 56:24Speaker 1: about their greatness and how much their success is that
- 56:28Speaker 1: they give flowers to the work that they put in
- 56:31Speaker 1: around the clock. This that the other part of you
- 56:33Speaker 1: is like, I've got to beat that, dude, because you're
- 56:35Speaker 1: so wrapped up in the ego of it to where
- 56:37Speaker 1: I know I would get lost in that sauce if
- 56:39Speaker 1: I was in the coaching world. Yeah, and if you're
- 56:42Speaker 1: getting in it, it depends on what the head coach wants,
- 56:44Speaker 1: like does he want you does he expect you there
- 56:46Speaker 1: all the time like an available There's several coaches at
- 56:48Speaker 1: their Bruce Arians, but Poline he was always like, hey,
- 56:51Speaker 1: if you ever missed this and that on the weekends
- 56:52Speaker 1: when we don't have a game, like I'll you know, I'll.
- 56:55Speaker 3: Fire you, or you should not do that. You need
- 56:56Speaker 3: to be at all this stuff.
- 56:57Speaker 1: You can with your family it's just a world where
- 56:59Speaker 1: you have to fully sacrifice everything for winning a championship,
- 57:03Speaker 1: just like in the military you have to sacrifice everything
- 57:05Speaker 1: for your country.
- 57:07Speaker 3: If you have a business, any business.
- 57:09Speaker 1: Owner out there, anybody in like a startup career, anything
- 57:11Speaker 1: to where they are obsessed with their career. They're obsessed
- 57:17Speaker 1: with their career and they want to be the best.
- 57:19Speaker 1: There's going to be certain things you have to do
- 57:21Speaker 1: selfishly to.
- 57:24Speaker 3: Get to that level.
- 57:26Speaker 1: It's going to be sacrificed away from family time because hey,
- 57:29Speaker 1: I'm operating a business. I have twenty employees right now.
- 57:32Speaker 1: I haven't been able to delegate anything or bring in
- 57:34Speaker 1: the CEO. I'm running everything at all. I have to
- 57:37Speaker 1: be at the shop. I have to do X, Y
- 57:39Speaker 1: and Z. I got to be on the calls and
- 57:41Speaker 1: make sales. I have to do all these things because
- 57:43Speaker 1: that's what puts food on the table for the family.
- 57:45Speaker 1: And you hope that one day you get successful enough,
- 57:48Speaker 1: or achieve enough, or acquire enough wealth to where then
- 57:51Speaker 1: you can delegate and have a team around you so
- 57:53Speaker 1: that way you have the freedom to spend all the
- 57:56Speaker 1: time in the world with their family. Because any sick
- 57:58Speaker 1: of successful person that you admire. When they get closer
- 58:02Speaker 1: to their deathbed or they reflect on their life, the
- 58:04Speaker 1: one thing that they.
- 58:05Speaker 3: Always talk about is they wish they spent more time
- 58:08Speaker 3: with their family.
- 58:09Speaker 2: That's true.
- 58:10Speaker 1: So I'm like, it's all of these things where I'm
- 58:12Speaker 1: just always thinking about it. I'm conscious about it, and
- 58:15Speaker 1: the whole NFL thing when people were kind of shocked
- 58:18Speaker 1: that that was maybe a part of him being fired
- 58:21Speaker 1: or shocked that hey, people in the building were kind
- 58:24Speaker 1: of like shitting on this idea that he was going
- 58:26Speaker 1: for two weeks.
- 58:27Speaker 3: It's like not any surprising at all, Like that is
- 58:29Speaker 3: the nature of the Beasts.
- 58:30Speaker 2: If you're going to sign up to play that game
- 58:31Speaker 2: you were, do you add some gravity to it? You
- 58:34Speaker 2: were brought to tears when Taylor attended your mother's funeral
- 58:40Speaker 2: of like what, like what a huge decision that was
- 58:46Speaker 2: by Taylor, And like what what that not only meant
- 58:49Speaker 2: to you, but what that also what he means? Did
- 58:53Speaker 2: what you mean to him? Sorry?
- 58:55Speaker 1: Yeah, because they had a Thursday night game and I
- 58:57Speaker 1: want to say Taylor might have been out with a
- 58:58Speaker 1: back or a.
- 58:59Speaker 3: Knee or something like that.
- 59:00Speaker 1: Then he asked Ray's blessing, like, hey, can I fly
- 59:03Speaker 1: to Missouri, miss a couple of days and spend a
- 59:06Speaker 1: couple of days for Will, with Will and his family
- 59:09Speaker 1: when my mom passed away. So yeah, you know when
- 59:11Speaker 1: when I saw Walcane, like you just know what that
- 59:14Speaker 1: what that takes, It's like, thank God he's good enough
- 59:16Speaker 1: of a player to have that luxury of missing that,
- 59:21Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Like if you're if you're
- 59:22Speaker 1: a first year n drafted guy and you make the
- 59:24Speaker 1: team and you're all out of the fifty three guys
- 59:26Speaker 1: on the roster, you might be rated forty through fifty three.
- 59:30Speaker 1: Nobody at forty through fifty three is making a decision
- 59:33Speaker 1: like that. I can't leave the building now. I'm not
- 59:35Speaker 1: gonna leave two days to go see my child being born,
- 59:37Speaker 1: Like this is my dream, this.
- 59:38Speaker 3: Is my first year. I can't. I can't afford it.
- 59:41Speaker 1: But if it's a cat like you got Taylor, maybe
- 59:43Speaker 1: it's JJ Watt, some of these superstars and they would
- 59:47Speaker 1: have missed a couple of days they have, they're able
- 59:49Speaker 1: to afford it because they ain't gonna nothing's gonna happen
- 59:52Speaker 1: to them.
- 59:52Speaker 3: They won't kind of get side.
- 59:54Speaker 1: I like, dude, this dude that's ranked thirty eighth right
- 59:57Speaker 1: now on our football team is taken off because he
- 59:59Speaker 1: needs to go be with the his family. Like clearly
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: he doesn't want it bad enough. That's just that's the
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: nature of the culture in a profession like the NFL.
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: Well, and Chef, I mean, it's funny, like the double
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: edged sword that is the public opinion on stuff like this,
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: and Chef will probably know the answer to this. But
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: somebody recently just won the US Open on the same
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: day that their son was born, Oh chors, and he
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: was like, I gotta get the hell out of here.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: I gotta go meet my son. And it's nobody's sitting
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: there going, hey, dude, what the heck are you doing
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: playing in this tournament? You just missed the birth of
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: your son. Like what a pos dad.
- 1:00:35Speaker 5: As urban Meyer once said, I'll treat my superstars like
- 1:00:38Speaker 5: superstars and my shit like shit.
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: I think that's the quote.
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: Well, there you go, there you go.
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: And everybody knows this game, like it's not surprising to me,
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: like when I am seeing the negative comments about it
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: or people like, oh, thanks for telling us, you're a
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: piece of shit. Dad, Oh this is a guy that's
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: a girl dead by the way, or he has a
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: dad podcast.
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: Yeah, like you ain't gonna sit there and make everybody happy.
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: I'm more so telling you like this. That was my
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: experience seeing it all in the NFL.
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: And even when I'm like, hey, thankfully I became a
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: dead after the fact, in retrospect, I'm happy didn't happen.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: Somebody was like, oh, so you're telling us you would
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: have been a piece of shit father. Then like, you're
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: still probably pretty much the same, And I'm just thinking
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: to myself, in what world is that like when I
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: or one day when your daughter reads this, It's like, okay,
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: when she if she were to read or come across this,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: then natural, Hey, your old man wasn't ready to be
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: a father at that time. So when I was thinking
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: back on it, I'm glad it didn't happen. I'm sure
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: that's gonna be an awfully hard conversation to have.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: I well, now I feel even worse that I didn't
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: jump in to your defense on Twitter and say, hey,
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: just recently had my firstbor girl. Will and Taylor provided
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: a great paternity leave for me, and for the days
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: I had to come in, what was it totally? Was
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: it like two months? It was like a month and
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: a half. I don't know, but the days I came in,
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: they provided a night nurse for Jill and I that
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: night so we could get some sleep. And for somebody
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: so like I should I should have come to your defense.
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: Now, you dude, you're fine. It was truly one of
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: those ones. I just didn't know how.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: It'd land because I know it's like you got this
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: softer generation on the people hate understanding what the truth
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: actually is. And I'm sitting there and giving you, like, hey,
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: it doesn't matter if you agree with me or not,
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: because the majority of people whatever they're saying, I'm like,
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: hey man, I don't disagree with you.
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: I'm just giving you an inside look on what this
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: is like.
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: And if you do want to be the best or
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: in the top one percent or make it to the NFL,
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: like there's gonna be, everyone knows that's the sacrifice that
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: goes into it. Everybody knows that, Like, sure you got
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: I met one of your buddies.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: I was at the Pro Bowl this week.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: Like anybody that you had, any any one of your
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: buddies that you've had that's.
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: Played college sports or they're chasing their dream.
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: The world is kind of there world is kind of
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: just shaped around them absolutely.
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: Like, Hey, I'm coming up to watch you in a game.
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: What do you want me to do this week when
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: I get there? Are you sure you want me to
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: stay at your house? Like?
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: Are you sure I can get a couple of tickets.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: I'm not trying to be I'm not trying to be
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: a nuisance. I don't want to annoy you. Let me
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: know what the best rudder like everything is around that
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: human being because.
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: They play the sport, they're chasing their dream.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: I'm not a getting I'm not saying that's that how,
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: that's how it has to be. I'm just saying, naturally,
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: like that is just what it is now.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: That is I lived with college football Ross mapsik is
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: who he's referring to, who's Pro Bowl long snapper for
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: Jacksonville Jaguars. But I lived with one of his good bodies,
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Harson Fox, who is also on Baylor's football team. And yeah,
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: Fox's daily schedule at college sucked. Ass.
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: Dude.
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: That guy was first one out of the house, last
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: one into it, covered in sweat. Whenever he's coming in
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: the door, He's like physically having to force feed himself.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: Chick multiple Chick fil A Sandwiches because he's got to
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: maintain a weight. He was an offensive lineman, like you
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: are signing up for something bigger than yourself when you're
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: this is not a call center where you know you're
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: doing customer service calls, which I'm not dogging it. I
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: did it for like four years where I could very
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: easily take two months a PTO and nobody's gonna blink
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: an eye, right.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: And like you said, like when you were talking about
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: the the package that you had with bus, and it's like, dude,
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: if anybody had a kid, like it's just man, you
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: hope that everybody achieves what they need to achieve.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: Oh for sure, so that way they're in the world
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: to where they can operate with some freedom.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: Because I'm it's like I'm this pot. We're all about
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: dad being at home. We're all about dad being intentional.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: We're all about dad mix it up up and not being.
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: So stuck in gender roles. And you just go on
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: and work.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: You're nine to five and food's expected to be on
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: the table when you get home, and you're the obviously
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: we shout out taking out the trash like you're only
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: chores taking out the trash or fixing things around the house,
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: really want you or in the dog We Yeah, we
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: embrace partnership marriage like good balance with each other. It's tough, man,
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: it's such a it's such a nuanced topic. And again
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: I said in there AA, you know it's hard to explain,
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: but nobody you know how the internet is.
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: Hey, and we're we're not going to make anybody or
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: everybody happy with this is our truth that we live in,
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: and we're sorry. We both have full time working wives,
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: like we're this, this is our truth that we live in,
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: and we're sorry. If you disagree, we're very sorry.
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's you're right.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: It is a That was a fun one, though. I
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: appreciate you bringing that up, Chef. I honestly I forgotten
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: about that, but it was going there was somewhere I'm like,
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: damn people, it just feels like all they want to
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: do right here is argue or say something taking shots
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: at the forour the Dad's podcast, just like, buddy, you
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: clearly don't listen to anything.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: Obviously.
- 1:06:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I was raising through fact. But the best was
- 1:06:09Speaker 4: Will's response to the one guy that said, uh, what
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: are you gonna do when your daughter reads this, and
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: Will said, she's gonna have a lot to read, buddy.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: Because I'm just as I'm sitting there and I'm looking
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: at that. I respond to a couple of people and
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: somebody's like, oh, you haven't won anything and tries to
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: show that I didn't win a championship in high school,
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: college or NFL.
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: And then I'm like, funny, how they forgot you.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: Know, grades four through seven or whatever I supposted to
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: be funny. So and then somebody's upset with that. He's like,
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: is this supposed to be funny? I feel like I
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: follow you. You get serious every now and then. You're
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: usually trying to be the funny guy, and I'm just like, man,
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: I just tweet bro, like it's never that serious to
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: where I'm trying to get upset or prove something to you.
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: When you just you understand the nature of like social
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: media now, like you sit there and spend your energy
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: on it, You're just gonna be on your phone all
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: day long, worked up about because you just want to
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: be understood so badly. It's like, look, I can't help
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: you if you're I'm trying to use the words to
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: the best of my ability and letting you know. Hey,
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: I don't disagree with you. I'm just this is my experience.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: It's not surprising. Well he went fourteen to two the
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: year before. Hey, I'm with you. When you're fourteen and two,
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: it's a little easier back. Yeah, you're gonna take two weeks,
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: you can work from home.
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: Oh, that'll be awesome.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: But then you have a season like you do, they
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: find other decisions you might have made. They hold it
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: against you and fire you. They leaked this internal stuff,
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: and it's like, that's.
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: That's the game.
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: That's the game. Maybe that's the game and it sucks.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: They call it the league for a reason. Also, I
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: don't think you've ever sounded more like a father than
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: when you said this generation, man's generation's so soft.
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: Here you got you know how it is?
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: Man? I, Oh, what do you think is gonna happen
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: when your daughter reads this?
- 1:07:55Speaker 3: Yank yank, buddy.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: I promise you we're gonna have some journals. She's gonna
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: have a lot to read. See scan watch on YouTube
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: of her old man. She can form her own opinion,
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: and I'm pretty sure, knock on wood, she's gonna have
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: a good one, because we're gonna have a great relationship.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: I'll be able to teach her a ball her old
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: man not being ready to because there's always a part
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: of me that wanted to have the photos with my
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: kiddos or with my with a child of mine in
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: full uniform, because I always thought that was awesome.
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: Like be a football player. Yeah, they get to watch
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: me from them all that stuff. Uh, that didn't happen.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: But again I'm I feel like I'm fortunate that father
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: had happened after football, because I just feel like the
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: way I was committed to football when I was in
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: the thick of it, family would have.
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: Just naturally, subconsciously whatever, not.
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: Intentionally, but in just my movie, they would have been
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: like second fiddle to.
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: What was going on in the NFL. Always you want
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: to be the best when you're playing.
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: Yeah, all we were missing when you called this generation
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: soft is us standing on my back patio next to
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: the smoker, some hollipops in our hands, and where you
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: just you're in in the long monologue you go this
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: generation man, then just generation.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: Still with a bunch of pussies dad, Because I'm telling her,
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: I think I was telling uh whenever I reacted to
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: one where I'm like, uh, she's gonna have a lot
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: to read.
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: Hey, if your daughter reads this, well, she's gonna have
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: a lot to read.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: And it'll be after the conversation where I'm like, hey,
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: your old man he wasn't you know what a hard
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: conversation I have. Hey, your dad wasn't ready at this
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: age to be a father, Thank god, because if I
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: would have, it probably wouldn't have been you rue standing
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: here in front of me. And then I'll talk to
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: her about that while also talking to her about Hey,
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: if you do want to be great in any lane,
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: this is what it takes.
- 1:09:44Speaker 3: Nick Saban's famous quote, it takes what it takes. Yeah,
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: and you want to be the.
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: Absolute best, there's gonna have to be a lot of
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: sacrifices and selfishness that you have to have because.
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: You want to be in this world.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's your life and you making your own decisions,
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: and they'll be a lot of good stuff that you
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: were able to talk about where you know it again,
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: it's nuanced, bro, it's a journey. It's a process. It
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: never stops.
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: Well, you just quoted somebody that that in fact retired
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: to spend more time with family was his exact quote
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: Nick Saban. So that proves the point even more of like, hey,
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: you know I've made these sacrifices and now I want
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: to move on and get back to the fam. I
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: have a potential dad hack, non dad hack, this might
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: be a sherman. What the hell are you doing? Stop
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: doing that? So I wanted to run it by you
- 1:10:36Speaker 2: will to see if you have ever done this. But
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: I know you got your back issues. I am fighting.
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: I am in the trenches right now with my back.
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: It is not good. I currently have four strands of
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: KT tape on my bod right now, and it's been
- 1:10:55Speaker 2: hard to bend down and pick up Scarlet. And so
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: what I have been doing is when she's laying on
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: her tummy and a onesie. And again, we might have
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: to cut this from the episode, or you can say
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: this is totally fine to do. I've been grabbing by
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: the back of the onesie to pick her up, like
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: grab a handful of the onesie. And it's a nice
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: little like it's almost like grabbing a puppy dog by
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: its you know, its neck. But she's like fine, her
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: her head isn't dangling or anything. She kind of like
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: Superman's up and then I put her into my arms.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: Is that a dad hack? Or is that a no go.
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: Meaning like you shouldn't do that. Yeah, Oh, you shouldn't
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: do that. It's news to me. I'll be out there swinging.
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: I'll be out there swinging. There we go.
- 1:11:44Speaker 2: Okay, so it is a dad hack?
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: Yeah, okay?
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: Cool?
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: A you want an easy way to pick up your
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: kidd or I feel like you learn that on your
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: own because you're kind of like you're kind of chuckling, like,
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: let me just pick them up here by the back
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: and see what happened.
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: Yes, that's what I did, especially when the guy.
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: Like their overalls on and you kind of bring them
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: together and then it's eas.
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: Yes, I handed you sher. There's an EMO from a
- 1:12:03Speaker 4: guy that was a huge dad hack ice skating with
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: his one year old and there's a picture he has
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: her will picked up as if like from hockey pants
- 1:12:12Speaker 4: on the side, and so this was one that was
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: meant for our first guest whenever that episode drops. But
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: you could see he has her by some hind quarter
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: device figure skating with his daughter and that's his dad hack.
- 1:12:24Speaker 4: So to your point, there are people doing this out
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: in the wild and sending it to us.
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's I mean, that's like kind of the
- 1:12:31Speaker 2: same principle, except for like she Scarlet's like, it's almost
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: like those laying on your stomach roller coasters, if y'all
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: have ever done those that, Like Will was saying, where
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: you're swinging her around, I haven't run it by Jill
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: yet because I'm a little nervous. I feel like she's
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: gonna tell me not to pick her up like that.
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: But I just couldn't get down that extra couple inches.
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: So I was like, I'll just instead of having to
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: go two hands underneath, I'll just pinch the onesie on
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: the back and pick her up that way. It felt good.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: It felt like a dad hack.
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: It feels great when it happens. It feels great when
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: it happened.
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: I got a uh, I got a dad hack here
- 1:13:10Speaker 3: from because my again my dad hack earlier earlier. Oh
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: the T shirt and the sweatshirt my dad ack earlier. Yeah,
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: I got a dad.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: Act here from Colton Ross Moosen on Spotify against Spotify comments.
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: You guys know I love the Spotify comments. Will it
- 1:13:27Speaker 3: Willie red eye.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: Hashtag dipe dad, diaper hack, dad of two soon to
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: be three. Congratulations Colton. This is something I learned from
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: a coworker of mine that I have never heard anyone
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: else do. But I'll never do it any other way. So,
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: once the kids start getting mobile mobile poopy diapers lately,
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: So once the kids start getting mobile mobile poopy diapers,
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: lay the baby on the floor, diaper towards your dominant hand,
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: leg opposite. Your dominant hand goes over baby just enough
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: to keep them from rolling, and your leg blocks their hands.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: Getting messy. Maybe unnecessary, but have never gone back. Hashtag
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: moji siico. I'll be honest, I read that out loud,
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: but I have no clue how to visualize this.
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: I'm okay, So this is this is what I'm intening.
- 1:14:27Speaker 3: Mobile poopy diapers.
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: Mobile poopy diapers. He has will check me out, can
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: you see me? Yeah, here's uh, here's baby's head, here's
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: poopy diaper. And I think he's on his knees, so
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: he kind of has torso buckled up against the knees
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: right here, and he's reaching overbody like this, so he's
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: operating down here. So then baby can't really roll because
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: we got an arm on the torso. And then the
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: legs are kind of pinched right there too. Is that
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: does that sound?
- 1:15:00Speaker 3: Diaper towards your dominant hand.
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: Sounds as good as possibly can be good. You'd have
- 1:15:05Speaker 4: to try it, I guess.
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: We might have to have him follow up with a
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: video demonstration.
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: I'll reply right now.
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: Okay, okay, we need a video demonstration because we're our
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: brain is in knots.
- 1:15:18Speaker 3: On the phone. Gotta have video. No, no, no. Are
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: we talking.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: Babies laying on the changing table and trying to be mobile?
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: Are they on their stomach? Are they on their back.
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: Like mobile poopy diapers? I'm thinking they're running around the house.
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: They got a poopy diaper. Maybe the poop's laying out. Hey,
- 1:15:35Speaker 3: get them on the floor right away.
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, well we might be talking about a
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: changing table operation.
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: Yeah, which I would love.
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: To heard it back when Scotty was in her prime
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: with being mobile and trying to wrestle.
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: And they get so good at bridging, You get so
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: good at bridging with their head bro to where they're
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: basically vertical in the air as you're trying to like
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: wipe yes, and then you're kind of just like Scotty,
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: just like.
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: Down I have on our changing table. I have a
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: lamp on either end of the changing table. And this
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: lamp right here is the one where I put Scarlet's
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: head is over here. Scarlet's mission in life is to
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: destroy that lamp, like that lamp needs to die in
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: her in her mind. And she's been doing that, dude,
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: just arching her back and she's just grabbing the lamp
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: shade and just she wants to rip that thing apart.
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: I also, I have another dad hack here. It says
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: if you don't like Will Compton's tweets, unfollow them. I
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: thought that was a great.
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: Somebody wrote that inn say hey, let me you know
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: what and send me replying under his tweet.
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: Let me go into the Spotify comments and drop it.
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: It'll see it there.
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: No, but we did reply to to our friend that
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: submitted the mobile poopy diaper. Derek just got on there
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: on Spotify and said, we need a video demonstration.
- 1:17:08Speaker 3: Colton Rich there we go.
- 1:17:09Speaker 4: We said, can you email us a video demonstration because
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: you put us in a blender trying to do this
- 1:17:12Speaker 4: on air.
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, we do need that.
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: And our friend that emailed in, Zachary, I'm sorry that
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: we didn't read your email aloud on the pod, but
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: that was from Zachary Green, So that's him and his
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: kiddo and they are Canadian. They're from Toronto, so shout
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: out Zachary and his fam and his little dad hack of.
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: It's called a jolly jumper seat. So if you go
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: ice skating with your kiddo, a little dad hack for you,
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: bring along a jolly jumper seat and you can skate
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: along with your kiddo.
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: Oh I love that. Who would have thunk it?
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: Do we want to go into Collins? Do we want
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: to do voice? Am I missing anything? I feel like?
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: Hey, hey, I do actually have a cool dad act
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: here from Henry Torrez the third on Spotify that I
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: saw that I thought was interesting. My six year old,
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: My six year old has been wanting some iPad time.
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: Negotiated a deal with him for every minute he trains,
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: he gets a minute on his iPad. Bodyweight exercises, speed
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: ladder boxing. He's playing basketball now, so we do ball
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: handling and passing the kicker.
- 1:18:33Speaker 3: I do all the drills with him.
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: He doesn't know it, but there's nothing I look forward
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: to after the days of worked in training with my boy. Hey,
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: that's that's look key, that last sentence right there almost
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: shot up. I'm feeling a frizziness in my nose right
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: now from him, and joined that so much because I
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: also think it's hilarious.
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: He's got a six year old. And hey, every minute you.
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: Train, whether it be sprints, waits, basketball, every minute you train,
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: you get some screen time.
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: And you know that Stopwatch is just running a little
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: bit slower than usual for some reason.
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: Yeah, because that when you're in the middle of training
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: instead of just a minute of training.
- 1:19:09Speaker 3: Eventually, he's gonna have to earn it. Hey, did you
- 1:19:11Speaker 3: earn the training? Earn the minutes in the training?
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: Because I got you about thirty minutes, but only fifteen
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: of them were productive.
- 1:19:18Speaker 3: That's it.
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: That's what I Only saw two good minutes in that one.
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: Did you get two minutes on the iPad? That's so true.
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: Oh, let's get into some let's get into some voicemause.
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: Six and one of the.
- 1:19:34Speaker 4: Dads, this first one is called cloth diapers.
- 1:19:38Speaker 6: Oh God, Willie Shirm names Hayden the high school football
- 1:19:43Speaker 6: coach up here in northern Kentucky. Uh said to become
- 1:19:47Speaker 6: a PT sixer here in May. Girl Dad I'm super
- 1:19:51Speaker 6: stoked about it. Recently found out about the pod about
- 1:19:55Speaker 6: a few weeks ago, and I've been going back listening
- 1:19:58Speaker 6: to every episode. So I'm not sure if this topic
- 1:20:00Speaker 6: has been covered. But my wife is dead set on
- 1:20:06Speaker 6: us doing cloth diapers. I'm not quite sure how to
- 1:20:10Speaker 6: feel about it. All the PT six veterans aren't super
- 1:20:15Speaker 6: encouraging either, making it seem like I'm gonna be in
- 1:20:18Speaker 6: the trenches of Normandy Beach here pretty soon. You got
- 1:20:23Speaker 6: any tips or advice or know anybody who has gone
- 1:20:27Speaker 6: through this process, feel free to uh send them this way.
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: Uh love love the work you guys are doing.
- 1:20:35Speaker 6: Man, got me stoked to go on this journey with
- 1:20:38Speaker 6: my wife and my future daughter and keep up the
- 1:20:41Speaker 6: good work.
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: Brother.
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: Congratulations Man, sure them if we can, if we can
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: get some googling happening right now, I only got one
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: percent battery on.
- 1:20:50Speaker 3: My phone, so I'm not able to do it.
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: But cloth diapers, I don't know if I've experienced anybody
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: does cloth diapers yet.
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: I have about this much experience with cloth diapers through
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: talking with Jill on it.
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: Okay, so you might have some game.
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: I have a little bit of game essentially, is the game?
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: Is it gonna land with him like he needs to
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: talk his wife off of it? Or is it some
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: game orhere there's some Optimus.
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: Oh no, and I don't like Hayden is what's his name?
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: First off, Hayden, thank you for your service of being
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: a high school football coach. You sound like a legend.
- 1:21:27Speaker 2: Your empty sixer sounds like a goddess. She sounds incredible,
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: And best of luck to y'all. May is a great
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: month for a baby to be born. Congratulations, I will
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: say this, no, no, now, yeah, I'm doing one of
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: those whatever the sandwich sandwich now, I will go as
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: as Derek is showing me a Reddit page for Clode
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: diapers where it looks like just a bunch of people
- 1:21:57Speaker 2: submitting their whoor stories of clothe They call them poop dozers.
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, dude, it's uh, dude, a ton of hand washing.
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: You're gonna have to buy a lot. First off, it's
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: just you're constantly gonna have to be cleaning these guys.
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: And you got to think when you're when your baby
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: is first born, So when you have your your newborn,
- 1:22:16Speaker 2: it's pretty much every two hours you're doing your feeds.
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: Correct me if I'm wrong on that will but I
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: think it's every two hours, and think about.
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: It, two three hours. You're trying to push for a
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: three hour window. But think about changes.
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: All think about all those diaper changes, dude, that you
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: had to do in those two hour intervals. You're not
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: just throwing it away. You are then you are adding
- 1:22:42Speaker 2: an extra step of I got clean this sucker and
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: then I got dry this sucker to be ready to
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: be worn again. It's just it is an extra step.
- 1:22:53Speaker 2: It's it's gonna be a lot of work they leave,
- 1:22:56Speaker 2: so it's it's doable.
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: You just have to show rolle cloth diapers on rotation
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: to where you got to clean one coming in, but
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: the minute you change the old one, that one's going
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: into now the washing process.
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: Okay, I have an analogy that I think might land
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: with our golfing dats. This would be my analogy is
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: he is starting to learn how to play golf playing
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: with blades like blade irons.
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: O's a good.
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: One, which is like that's what the pros are using.
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: They're using blades all the newbies. They got that little
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: added weight on the back of it. It helps your
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: iron shots to go further. And straight, or it's a
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: nice little handicap because you're new to this. He's starting
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: off his golfing journey with the hardest clubs he could
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: be possibly hitting, and there's nothing Hey, there ain't nothing
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: wrong with it. Because if you start with blades in golf,
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: you're gonna learn ball control real fast, and you're gonna
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: you're gonna learn what a bad golf swing looks like
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: really fast. Same with cloth diapers. There's probably gonna be
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: shitting pissed everywhere. So honestly, Hayden, you're you're signing up for,
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: you know, a challenging next few months. But if hey,
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: if empty sixer is saying that, that's all I'm saying, man,
- 1:24:11Speaker 2: you just you keep that gap.
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: Hey, you know the quote, man, happy wife, happy life, brother. Yeah, man,
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: and mom was pushing it and you gotta find you
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: know what, Then you got to switch into stoic philosophy.
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: You gotta start telling yourself the obstacle is the way. Yeah,
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: you're choosing the path of most resistance, the road less traveled.
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: I got a four letter word with one syllable and
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: it just rolls.
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: Off the dog. It's good. Yeah, it's good.
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: A lot of good, a lot of good in his future,
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: A lot of good. It.
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: Uh yeah, dude, keep hey, keep the wifey happy, all right,
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: tell her it's the best idea in the entire world.
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: But tell her you heard from a friend. You I
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: be signing up for a lot of extra work. And
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: if it is a if it is a budget thing,
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: if that is the reason, dude it, then obviously it
- 1:25:08Speaker 2: is a you will save so much money that way,
- 1:25:12Speaker 2: so much money that way. So if it's for financial reasons,
- 1:25:16Speaker 2: totally get that. To get that to you, And.
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: Hayden being a ball coach brings me back to the
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: Minnesota conversation.
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: Come on, man, come on man, Oh no.
- 1:25:28Speaker 3: Yeah, what what do you what do you assuming that?
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: He I mean late nights, Mama is gonna be.
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: Having to Yeah, yeah, it's gonna be hard.
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: And that that's another reason why I did jump into it,
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: and I talk about.
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: How it's such a hard explanation because.
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: As I am explaining it, it's not like I'm feeling
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: like being a coach or being in that world is
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: like I'm like, oh, that's not the way to do
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: it if you want to be a great dad.
- 1:25:58Speaker 3: I'm just saying I just don't.
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: I don't envy that as much as I used to
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: because of the work and the time you have to
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: put into it. When my man is they're using the
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: two week praternity to leave as a variable hate than
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: any coach, anybody trying to be you know, a dog
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: at anything knows you never give them a reason them
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: as in the higher ups.
- 1:26:21Speaker 3: You never give them a reason to get you out
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: the door.
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:26:25Speaker 3: And that just happens to be an extra variable part
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: of me. You know.
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: I hear Hayden and I hear that he's a ball coach.
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: I'm like, I kind of hate that. I feel like
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: I'm I'm saying it's a bad thing to be in
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: that world. It's more of just you know, I'm doing
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: my best to talk to when chef brings that up.
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: And it's not a bit, it's not a bad thing.
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: It also, hey, we aren't taking this isn't like we're
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: talking vaccinate, don't vaccinate and once vaccinated, now it's too late.
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: We're talking clock dipis.
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: They can We're talking club dice.
- 1:26:55Speaker 2: It can switch the regular dippies whenever they want. If
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: the clock dipis don't work out, switched to regular.
- 1:27:01Speaker 4: I am finding so that entire time. I'm so sorry
- 1:27:04Speaker 4: Arizona that I've just been going through Reddit cloth diaper threads.
- 1:27:07Speaker 4: A lot of people are doing hybrid so longer journeys
- 1:27:11Speaker 4: with a nanny or something, anything in which you don't
- 1:27:13Speaker 4: want it to be the cloth one. They're using regular diapers,
- 1:27:16Speaker 4: but at nights, short trips or whenever you're just around
- 1:27:18Speaker 4: the house and you know both parents can be there
- 1:27:20Speaker 4: and you're okay with it, they're using cloth and a
- 1:27:22Speaker 4: lot of people have saved a lot of money with that.
- 1:27:24Speaker 4: So the hybrid approach seems to be the most kind
- 1:27:27Speaker 4: of cost effective and it doesn't leave you out and
- 1:27:30Speaker 4: about with the cloth diaper.
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: So well done, breve breakdown, Well done, Deeke, great breakdown.
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: Shut out.
- 1:27:37Speaker 2: Hayden comes shout out, Hayden. Maybe I love that. Now
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: we're providing a little bit of help to Hayden. Maybe
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: go to the hybrid route. Thank you.
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: Not only is he protecting the egg gap, protect the
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: cloth diaper, Yeah, he's protecting the wall.
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: Yeah, he's protecting the wallet, the the BB's behind and
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: the team.
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: Yeah, happy happy wife. I'd be live, I'd be.
- 1:28:02Speaker 4: Wife, I'd be live.
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: How are you doing on time? Will Compton? Do you
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: want to hit another voicemail?
- 1:28:08Speaker 3: Sure, let's sen in another voicemail.
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: Let's do it. That was a great call in by
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: the way, Hayden, thank you.
- 1:28:17Speaker 5: Number two voicemail is cans are effing gone.
- 1:28:22Speaker 8: What's up? Boys? This is John from Erie Pa. I
- 1:28:26Speaker 8: got a little Dad hack for you. Last week I
- 1:28:29Speaker 8: put the trash out thanks to Willie one Sholf's advice.
- 1:28:31Speaker 8: I have forgotten a few times, but since I've been
- 1:28:33Speaker 8: listening to the pod, I've not forgotten, So thank you
- 1:28:36Speaker 8: will for that. But Dad Hack here, just throw your
- 1:28:40Speaker 8: trash on the street, not in cans, just like loose
- 1:28:43Speaker 8: trash or in bag. Just throw it out there for
- 1:28:46Speaker 8: the wind to take it forever.
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: Because if you put.
- 1:28:49Speaker 8: It in cans, the garbage men take your cans and
- 1:28:53Speaker 8: then they just the wind takes the cans and forever
- 1:28:57Speaker 8: they're gone. So now I'm down cans, I have nowhere
- 1:29:01Speaker 8: to put my trash, and I'm screwed. So we're just
- 1:29:05Speaker 8: gonna leave the trash inside of the road and just
- 1:29:07Speaker 8: let it be and we'll see what happens. But yeah,
- 1:29:10Speaker 8: cans are fucking gone.
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: It's awesome.
- 1:29:11Speaker 8: So anyway, I love the boys, love the pod, keep
- 1:29:14Speaker 8: it up, keep doing the Lord's work.
- 1:29:16Speaker 3: Six out cans.
- 1:29:23Speaker 2: He said he was in PA. I was like, are
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: you in Oklahoma? Like where what's going on?
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: Is a tornado happening outside the way it blows forever?
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: They're gone.
- 1:29:33Speaker 2: I think I think the issue might be with the
- 1:29:35Speaker 2: garbage men.
- 1:29:37Speaker 4: We don't get cans in Pennsylvania like you guys. There's
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: house cans here. I don't know if that's an over
- 1:29:40Speaker 4: thing you get. Yeah, you buy your own trash cans
- 1:29:44Speaker 4: in Pennsylvania. And so I know for a fact what
- 1:29:46Speaker 4: this guy is going through. But the other thing is
- 1:29:48Speaker 4: this guy has been in the call Q like I've
- 1:29:52Speaker 4: moved him every episode. It's been a little bit because
- 1:29:54Speaker 4: I just love that guy. Sounds so defeated. He said,
- 1:29:57Speaker 4: you can put him in the can, but the garbagemen
- 1:29:59Speaker 4: take the can and then they're gone, and the wind
- 1:30:00Speaker 4: took the other ones, and now I have no fucking cans.
- 1:30:03Speaker 4: I loved this guy.
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: What a crazy I just can't wrap my mind around that.
- 1:30:09Speaker 3: Derek.
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: Is that a vibe where people just put their trash
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: like just on this there's cans.
- 1:30:15Speaker 4: Like you you. I would assume that there are situations
- 1:30:19Speaker 4: in which your can is full, so you put it there.
- 1:30:22Speaker 4: I've never seen somebody just like leave their trash outside
- 1:30:26Speaker 4: the house. I would very much though, stand in unison
- 1:30:30Speaker 4: with this guy that if your cans are just gone, bro, dude,
- 1:30:33Speaker 4: you gotta do I guess.
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know if.
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: That's more of a dad that's that's more of a
- 1:30:39Speaker 3: that's more of a fuck the system. Yes, this is
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: a dad hack.
- 1:30:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: I was just about to say, is this something that
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: we militarize the PT six kids?
- 1:30:49Speaker 3: So kids show that you just pretend you heard a
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: belief that one. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: Do we militarize the PT six community and try and
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: get some legislation in past in PA for the for
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: the cans to be provided. I've lived only in four
- 1:31:06Speaker 2: like states where like I lived in every single in
- 1:31:10Speaker 2: those states provided cans.
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: What a stick flex, Bro, you've lived in four states?
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I'm just having fun. He's having fun that way.
- 1:31:32Speaker 3: Oh sick, you've lived in four states?
- 1:31:34Speaker 2: Lived in Missouri? Did they provide cans?
- 1:31:37Speaker 3: No? You got to You got to buy your own.
- 1:31:40Speaker 2: Really, that blows my mind?
- 1:31:42Speaker 3: Got options or or I bonti Missouri.
- 1:31:47Speaker 2: Oh okay, that's actually a really good point too. Maybe
- 1:31:49Speaker 2: if you're more rural then they wouldn't provide cans. But
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: this poor guy, I mean that that just blows my
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: mind that you wouldn't have like your nice gar garbage
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: bind that you'd roll to the street.
- 1:32:02Speaker 3: I know, I know, man, No bad idea is in
- 1:32:05Speaker 3: a brainstorm.
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: Yeah, we should buy this pet sixer.
- 1:32:08Speaker 5: I can we should.
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: Buy chefs should like because I'm thinking two lights. Yeah sure,
- 1:32:16Speaker 3: let's let's just say that that's a dad hack. It's
- 1:32:19Speaker 3: not a dad hack. We can actually get behind.
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: Oh yeah, no, you know next week we hit you know,
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: Shay this morning as this episode comes out and shure them.
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: You're like, oh, reminder, trash day and it's just a
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: photo of your trash on the side of the road.
- 1:32:36Speaker 4: I think he was using dad hack facetiously. He was
- 1:32:39Speaker 4: using it as like, here's a Dad hack. Ause my
- 1:32:41Speaker 4: fucking kid, Sorry, my cans are gone. Yeah, I'm with you,
- 1:32:46Speaker 4: will I think that there, I mean, chef, I'll hunt
- 1:32:48Speaker 4: I'll hunt it down if we get this guy. But
- 1:32:51Speaker 4: you know what he needs. He needs those like two
- 1:32:53Speaker 4: by four wooden containers that Dad sometimes build that you
- 1:32:57Speaker 4: put your trash cans in so it won't go away,
- 1:33:00Speaker 4: you know what I mean. Yeah, like those things are
- 1:33:02Speaker 4: cool that you know it hopefully won't fly away.
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: That's what he needs, is one of those.
- 1:33:09Speaker 3: I'm done to get him set up. I'm done to
- 1:33:10Speaker 3: get help with the can.
- 1:33:12Speaker 4: I'll do some digging.
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: I would. I would be down to help him out
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: as well, because I just feel like the answer is
- 1:33:18Speaker 2: not leaving your trash on the side of the road.
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: But I feel for him.
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: Too, Yeah, I feel for him as well.
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: He could be laughing, be like, damn it, the boys
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: aren't taking this joke too well.
- 1:33:32Speaker 3: They're taking me.
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: They're taking me serious. They're taking it as I got.
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: I'm putting the trash on the side of the way.
- 1:33:37Speaker 3: I just wanted to.
- 1:33:37Speaker 2: I just wanted to call an event. He sit there
- 1:33:41Speaker 2: like will after the cool you lived in forest States
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: and I'm joking.
- 1:33:48Speaker 4: Oh, there's there's robotic garbage cans nowadays too. They sit
- 1:33:53Speaker 4: at your house and you track them like a little rumba.
- 1:33:56Speaker 4: Oh yo's out to the curve and comes he.
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: Tell the government it can start tracking.
- 1:34:02Speaker 3: I'm to be I'm trying to be off the grid
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: with my trash cans.
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: Honey, I think the trash bins are listening to us
- 1:34:10Speaker 2: because I was thinking the trash job and I was
- 1:34:13Speaker 2: talking about burger King, and now I'm getting all these
- 1:34:15Speaker 2: burger King ads on my burger k rappers in the
- 1:34:18Speaker 2: It's crazy, hey, that there's something there? All right?
- 1:34:24Speaker 3: Uh?
- 1:34:25Speaker 2: Lesson of the Week quote of the week.
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: Do you have it? My phone's dead?
- 1:34:30Speaker 2: Oh yes, okay, in that case, I have a very
- 1:34:34Speaker 2: quick I thought it would be fun to update on
- 1:34:37Speaker 2: my lesson of the week. I think three weeks ago
- 1:34:40Speaker 2: was calling friends on my drive to daycare to pick
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: up Scarlett. So I have a nice little If this
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: is your first time listening to the show. A couple
- 1:34:52Speaker 2: of weeks ago, my lesson of the week was I
- 1:34:54Speaker 2: was going to try and reach out to loved ones,
- 1:34:57Speaker 2: friends and have meaningful conversations during my car time when
- 1:35:01Speaker 2: I'm driving to pick up my daughter Scarlet from daycare.
- 1:35:06Speaker 2: And it's just been absolutely incredible getting to get back
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: into my friends' lives, getting to talk with my mom
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: and dad. I've been talking with them more so and
- 1:35:20Speaker 2: it is turned into than facetiming them. Once I get
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: home with Scarlet and I'm out of the car, and
- 1:35:28Speaker 2: it's turning into these like forty five minute FaceTime conversations
- 1:35:34Speaker 2: where I'm basically just sitting the phone on our dinner
- 1:35:37Speaker 2: table and they're getting to watch me feed Scarlet. And
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: now I'm taking the phone to the changing table and
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: they're watching me change her for bedtime, And just a
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: ton of really awesome stuff has come out of me
- 1:35:52Speaker 2: having these phone calls. And so I would just say
- 1:35:55Speaker 2: for anybody that spends a lot of time in the
- 1:35:57Speaker 2: car and you love your friends and family and you
- 1:35:59Speaker 2: love just feeding meaningful relationships in your lives, do it.
- 1:36:06Speaker 2: Because it's been awesome so far. It's been a really
- 1:36:09Speaker 2: great start to twenty six.
- 1:36:13Speaker 3: I love that there was.
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: The one that I had was gonna be like book recommendations.
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: If you have a great follow for some like whether
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: it's stoicism, you're into old parenthood, Ryan Holiday, can you
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: guys still see me?
- 1:36:28Speaker 2: I can still hear you. And then it's a nice
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: little frozen blows You're blowing a kiss.
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: Okay, Charlie's trying to FaceTime me, could see any see
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: the fan was trying to FaceTime me. But it was
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: like some of the books that Ryan posted he was like, oh,
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: some good reads for parents. It was one of his
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: recent posts. I want to say there was a book
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: called Range that I've heard about before, how to raise
- 1:36:52Speaker 1: your kid to not be assholes? The Conscious I want
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: to say it was The Conscious Parent. But just a
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: few recommendations out there that I saw that I kind
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: of favorited or saved on Instagram that I want to
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: that I want to get to and order those books.
- 1:37:10Speaker 3: So something that some proof for thoughts, something I'm diving into.
- 1:37:14Speaker 2: Yeah, that could even be a really great uh for
- 1:37:16Speaker 2: next week if any PT sixers want to put in
- 1:37:19Speaker 2: some of their favorite reads parenting reads, that could be
- 1:37:24Speaker 2: really fun to kind of dive into that. I'm still
- 1:37:28Speaker 2: only like thirty pages into Strong Father's Strong Daughters.
- 1:37:34Speaker 3: You're gonna love that book to.
- 1:37:35Speaker 2: Finish that one. But yeah, any PT sixers listening, let
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: us know on like some really great parenting reads. And oh, Chef,
- 1:37:46Speaker 2: just chef just had a great reminder for a Valentine's
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: Day episode next week, Will and I will be recording
- 1:37:54Speaker 2: on Monday. Make sure to get your Valentine's Day emails
- 1:37:59Speaker 2: and all ins in before this Friday. That's the cutoff.

- 1:38:13Speaker 3: At the top of the episode.
- 1:38:15Speaker 2: We'll film a nice little thing and we'll throw it
- 1:38:18Speaker 2: in anybody.
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: Who's listened to the end of this when we do
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: the emojis, Yeah, share what's the emoji this week?
- 1:38:26Speaker 2: Oh, pink cats go pink carts for Valentine's.
- 1:38:31Speaker 3: What is it?
- 1:38:32Speaker 2: Pink carts for Valentine's.
- 1:38:34Speaker 3: Pink carts for Valentine's Day. But that the message, get
- 1:38:38Speaker 3: your submissions in by Friday.
- 1:38:40Speaker 2: Gotta get them in by Friday.
- 1:38:41Speaker 3: Dude, voicemails, emails, whatever it is. Yeah, get it, get it, get.
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: In your content, you're engagement with the boys, Get it
- 1:38:49Speaker 1: in by Friday.
- 1:38:50Speaker 3: So that way we can we can talk Valentine's Day
- 1:38:52Speaker 3: next week.
- 1:38:53Speaker 2: And just a little teaser, we have a mom loss
- 1:38:55Speaker 2: that will be a call in from my mom that
- 1:38:58Speaker 2: features the story on Valentine and today. That's just a
- 1:39:01Speaker 2: little teaser.
- 1:39:03Speaker 3: Just a little teaser, little thase.
- 1:39:05Speaker 2: And then I have a little I got a Dan
- 1:39:07Speaker 2: Gable quote for you. Really see, my mind is never
- 1:39:12Speaker 2: gone very far away from what I wanted to accomplish.
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: Dan Gable, there's there's a Since I am on my iPad,
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: I typed in Dan Gable quote.
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: This one's on sacrifice. You ready for some dan Gable?
- 1:39:29Speaker 2: Hold on one second, all right, Yeah, I'm ready.
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: The amount you're willing to sacrifice is directly proportional to
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: your desire for success.
- 1:39:42Speaker 3: Fitting.
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: Well, I hate to make you read that one again,
- 1:39:47Speaker 2: but I have to hear it. I have to hear
- 1:39:49Speaker 2: it twice.
- 1:39:49Speaker 3: It's that good, all right?
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: If you think you if you're thinking about two weeks
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: of maternity leave, the amount you're willing to sacrifice is
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: directly proportional to your desire for success.
- 1:40:04Speaker 2: Amen. Amen.
- 1:40:07Speaker 3: And I don't know who I'm talking to there, the
- 1:40:09Speaker 3: career people out there.
- 1:40:13Speaker 2: Maybe maybe some athletes that are listening to us, maybe
- 1:40:16Speaker 2: a po rizzo sitting there snapping. Dan Gable knows what
- 1:40:22Speaker 2: he's talking about.
- 1:40:23Speaker 3: Man. Yeah, it's a it's a double edged sword, double edged.
- 1:40:29Speaker 2: Sword, insurance insurance.
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: A Derek or Chef like, what was your guys's what
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: was your guys'.
- 1:40:38Speaker 3: Opinion on the whole.
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: Now that we're at the end of this can be
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: like the post credits post credits conversation on.
- 1:40:45Speaker 3: The Whole, On the Whole, the Minnesota Vikings GM.
- 1:40:49Speaker 5: I think you put it pretty perfectly, like at the
- 1:40:51Speaker 5: end of the day, your you're subject to your results,
- 1:40:55Speaker 5: and like it's like the same thing like any other job.
- 1:40:59Speaker 5: It's like if you're taking time off, but it's like
- 1:41:02Speaker 5: in a way where like if you take let's pretend
- 1:41:06Speaker 5: that NFL season is like one of our big weeks
- 1:41:08Speaker 5: at busting right, Like we'll probably have like a big
- 1:41:11Speaker 5: week once a month, you know, where it's a huge
- 1:41:13Speaker 5: thing and everyone knows. Like if I went and said, hey,
- 1:41:16Speaker 5: during the super Bowl, you know, super Bowl week is
- 1:41:18Speaker 5: the week I'm gonna take off, everyone.
- 1:41:20Speaker 4: Would be like, why are you doing that?
- 1:41:22Speaker 5: And I feel like the NFL, the difference is just
- 1:41:24Speaker 5: every week is the biggest week ever, you know, like
- 1:41:27Speaker 5: that's that's the approach. And so yeah, you have a
- 1:41:30Speaker 5: shit season, Like so what JJ McCarthy's a quarterback, Like
- 1:41:34Speaker 5: tough shit. You know, it comes back to invite you.
- 1:41:38Speaker 4: I think I'm a big fan of like you guys know,
- 1:41:41Speaker 4: but like a big fan of like you choose exactly
- 1:41:43Speaker 4: where you want to be, what you're doing, how you
- 1:41:45Speaker 4: want to be and you choose every aspect of your life,
- 1:41:48Speaker 4: and like, you have to accept the fact, and so
- 1:41:50Speaker 4: if he's going to take those two weeks off, that's
- 1:41:52Speaker 4: totally fine. You have to also choose the fact that
- 1:41:53Speaker 4: there's repercussions in that world. Because guess what I think.
- 1:41:56Speaker 4: I've said this to Sherman and Chef. We have at Bustin.
- 1:42:01Speaker 4: We have a job that there are so few of
- 1:42:04Speaker 4: in the world. There are so few people that get
- 1:42:07Speaker 4: to be in the position that I'm in currently, and
- 1:42:09Speaker 4: I have to understand that with this position and the
- 1:42:12Speaker 4: things that I want to do with my life, there
- 1:42:13Speaker 4: are sacrifices I have to make. That gentleman has one
- 1:42:16Speaker 4: of thirty two positions in the world for what he does.
- 1:42:20Speaker 4: If you love football and love that thing, there are
- 1:42:23Speaker 4: thirty one people he can call colleagues in the world.
- 1:42:28Speaker 4: And to be at that level, to make what you make,
- 1:42:30Speaker 4: to do what you do, and to love the game
- 1:42:32Speaker 4: that you love it, there are sacrifices. And for anyone
- 1:42:36Speaker 4: to come at you on Twitter and be like this
- 1:42:37Speaker 4: guy is a dad podcast, You're just kind of maronic
- 1:42:40Speaker 4: because you have a job that just requires different sacrifices
- 1:42:44Speaker 4: and different things and different expectations, and moronic in the
- 1:42:47Speaker 4: sense that you can't take the blinders off and see
- 1:42:49Speaker 4: it because I am exactly where I want to be
- 1:42:51Speaker 4: in life, because I do get to spend time with
- 1:42:53Speaker 4: my fiance and her family, and I get to spend
- 1:42:55Speaker 4: time with my friends and things like that. And sure
- 1:42:58Speaker 4: there's things I could have done that maybe I gave
- 1:43:01Speaker 4: up professionally to have more of a personal life. But
- 1:43:03Speaker 4: you own up and you make those decisions. And at
- 1:43:05Speaker 4: the end of the day, if you want to do
- 1:43:07Speaker 4: excellent things, it does take sacrifices. You're saying no to
- 1:43:11Speaker 4: things by saying yes to other things.
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: Yeah, well said, well well said, and again and again.
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: If you're if you're flipping like the whole, you know,
- 1:43:21Speaker 1: the sacrifices you make is directly, you know, indicative of
- 1:43:25Speaker 1: your desire for success.
- 1:43:26Speaker 3: That Dan Gable says.
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: If in that mind like you make the decision and
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: you know whatever repercussions come with it you are completely
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: fine with, then booble net is how you have prioritized
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: the value and energy you're putting in your life. But
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: to me, it's like the outside noise that comes in
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: and tries to separate, Like I can't believe this culture
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: in the NFL, like all this masculine bullshit.
- 1:43:46Speaker 3: Got say, yo, that's just the way it is.
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: And if you accept the terms of the game knowing
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: that stuff like this can happen, which they all we
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: all do, we all whatever line of work we want
- 1:43:56Speaker 1: to get or however you want to prioritize everything in
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: our life. You know what you're saying up for what
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: could be at risk if you make certain decisions.
- 1:44:04Speaker 3: But no, I thought that was I thought that was
- 1:44:06Speaker 3: well said there.
- 1:44:07Speaker 9: Yeah, well that works one that it's one that just
- 1:44:12Speaker 9: works you up because the moronic opinion that gets involved
- 1:44:18Speaker 9: and not compartmentalizing exactly what's being talked about.
- 1:44:22Speaker 2: Well, and it's uh, it's funny that like the masculinity
- 1:44:26Speaker 2: word was being thrown around as far as the NFL
- 1:44:28Speaker 2: goes it, Like find any industry where you basically any industry,
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: like if you're in fashion and you're like, hey, can
- 1:44:36Speaker 2: I take off for these two weeks? I know that
- 1:44:38Speaker 2: it's like the met Galla ball is that week, but yeah,
- 1:44:43Speaker 2: they'd be like, you're a psychopath, Like this is our
- 1:44:46Speaker 2: super Bowl? What are you doing?
- 1:44:48Speaker 4: I think waiting for that Yeah.
- 1:44:50Speaker 5: What I love about how you explained that all, and
- 1:44:53Speaker 5: I think it's so true is that whether you like
- 1:44:55Speaker 5: it or not, that is just the way it goes.
- 1:44:57Speaker 5: And that's like, I think that's what you're almost f
- 1:45:00Speaker 5: and against in the Twitter comments is a lot of
- 1:45:01Speaker 5: people go and kind of like playing it with the
- 1:45:04Speaker 5: idea already that it's unfair, and that's what they're trying
- 1:45:07Speaker 5: to argue, and you're not even trying to argue that,
- 1:45:09Speaker 5: You're trying to tell them like, this is just how
- 1:45:11Speaker 5: it goes exactly.
- 1:45:12Speaker 1: You're right, It's not like I'm not trying to tell
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: I'm not trying to argue that it's like, yeah, dude,
- 1:45:17Speaker 1: fucking life's unfair.
- 1:45:18Speaker 3: Yeah, Like it depends on what game you're playing.
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: The game I played is all I can speak to
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: and speak on in that culture. But when it comes
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: to there's many industries, many jobs, many careers, many businesses
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: that those types of decisions happen and results like that
- 1:45:34Speaker 1: happen all the time.
- 1:45:35Speaker 3: Do I think it's fair? Fair is all subjective.
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: If you want responsibilities, you're gonna have to give up luxuries,
- 1:45:43Speaker 2: and that is across the board or whatever you're working
- 1:45:47Speaker 2: in masculine, feminine. I don't care like arts, blue collar,
- 1:45:52Speaker 2: white collar. It doesn't matter, Like if you're going to
- 1:45:55Speaker 2: be this guy up here, like, there's gonna be a
- 1:45:58Speaker 2: lot of stuff that you're gonna have to say. Unfortunately,
- 1:46:01Speaker 2: I have to give up some luxuries there.
- 1:46:03Speaker 4: We're kind of obviously just chatting out. But well, one
- 1:46:05Speaker 4: of the things that I see on social and I
- 1:46:07Speaker 4: never like to highlight the negative a social unless it's
- 1:46:09Speaker 4: like a hater mail stuff, but it does makes my
- 1:46:11Speaker 4: skin crawl, bro, when people go, oh, so the rich
- 1:46:14Speaker 4: guy has dad problems, Like, oh, you're so upset, bro,
- 1:46:18Speaker 4: because you're you gotta do this. Well, guess what you
- 1:46:20Speaker 4: have money? And I've seen so many people I will
- 1:46:22Speaker 4: say in this community that I haven't seen before come
- 1:46:24Speaker 4: in and be like, you're just it. You're just not
- 1:46:27Speaker 4: a good person if you think money solves the fact
- 1:46:30Speaker 4: that Rue wants to sing a song about her dad
- 1:46:33Speaker 4: going away like that is just such a like an
- 1:46:36Speaker 4: unfathomable part of the position that people are in at
- 1:46:39Speaker 4: times where it's like, well, they're rich, so why does
- 1:46:41Speaker 4: it matter if they're struggling as a dad, Because my
- 1:46:44Speaker 4: and they turn it, bro, And it's just like one
- 1:46:46Speaker 4: of those things where like that guy he can take
- 1:46:48Speaker 4: those two weeks, that's totally fine, Like that's okay, but
- 1:46:51Speaker 4: also there's stuff that comes with it.
- 1:46:53Speaker 3: And that means he's human. Bro.
- 1:46:55Speaker 4: We're all human, we say at the top of it.
- 1:46:57Speaker 4: We're figuring it out.
- 1:46:58Speaker 3: Bro.
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: Yeah, did a great a great dude to listen to
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: on some subjects like whether it be career, whatever it is, philosophy, whatever.
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: But Naval Ravacan He's got a podcast. It's like three
- 1:47:11Speaker 1: or four hours long. It's called how to Get Rich.
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: It's like a tagline he uses because it's an attractive tagline,
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: but his whole premise is like wanting to get people
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: rich first because then once you're rich, like everybody, once
- 1:47:23Speaker 1: you get money, everybody realize, Okay, it solves a lot
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: of money problems that goes on. But there's all these
- 1:47:28Speaker 1: other cycles and he breaks down things in business and
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: life and personal ambitions and all these things.
- 1:47:34Speaker 3: That is like a very insightful.
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: Listen But in that he talks about, you know, it's
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: like game theory stuff. When you're choosing to participate in
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: the game of social media, like it's a zero sum game.
- 1:47:45Speaker 3: It's like people are punching up.
- 1:47:47Speaker 1: People are trying to, you know, make themselves feel better
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: because they feel like there's a sense of meeting, a
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: sense of meaning, because they feel like they're being a
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: morality police by being like, oh no, you should think
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: this way, or oh you're dumb, or just trying to
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: project that nonsense unto you. But in the social media stuff,
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: it's always a slippery slope. That's It's like when I
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: know I'm commenting on something and I know it's getting
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: some kind of mixture views like that, it's almost like
- 1:48:10Speaker 1: you got to look at some of this stuff and
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: then compartmentalize yourself, Like, Okay, before I get caught up
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: in trying to be understood by everybody, I need to
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: just know that this is something to where you're not
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: gonna make everybody think the way that I think about it.
- 1:48:26Speaker 3: So then you just try to flip it, all right,
- 1:48:27Speaker 3: how can I not? How can I be light about this? Brother?
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: I don't disagree with you post the thing about you know,
- 1:48:34Speaker 3: fourth grade to sixth grade or seventh grade, and then
- 1:48:36Speaker 3: the guy's like, well, are you sore? You being serious?
- 1:48:38Speaker 3: Are you trying to be funny?
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: Now?
- 1:48:40Speaker 3: You being a funny? Guy or a serious guy like man,
- 1:48:43Speaker 3: I'm just tweeting.
- 1:48:44Speaker 2: I'm just tweet I'm just being more confident man.
