- 1:02episode of the Adventures of Frank Race, The Adventure of the Blackfriars Bridge The
- 1:07Adventures of Frank Race starring Paul Dubove with Tony Barrett as Mark Donovan. The
- 1:22war changed many things, the face of the earth and the people on it.
- 1:26Before the war, Frank Race worked as an attorney, but he traded
- 1:30his law books for the cloaken Tagger of the oss and when it was over,
- 1:34his former life was over. Two adventure had become his business, the
- 1:40Adventures of Frank Race. And now we joined Frank Race for the Adventure of
- 1:57the Blackfriars. When you think of London, you usually think a fog.
- 2:08But for the room in which I stood, I was catching a view that
- 2:12gave another impression. In the street below walked an East Indian bedecked in tunic
- 2:16and turban, and not far behind him a Chinese slipped along. During the
- 2:21last few minutes, I'd also seen several other nationalities, perhaps because the building
- 2:24stood only a flip and a toss from Blackfriars Bridge, with the London and
- 2:29West India Docks only a short distance down the River Thames. And then the
- 2:34door opened behind me, and I had other things to consider, since this
- 2:38was the office of George Guilthorpe, president of the British and Colonial Life Insurance
- 2:42Association. I haven't kept you waiting too long, Race, I've been entertained.
- 2:46You get quite a view from here, do you know. I never
- 2:49really noticed. I don't know what you saw to nut Race, but there
- 2:52was night him and day before yesterday's paper about a man being found dead on
- 2:55Lower Thames Street. I noticed it. It was run victim. I'm sorry,
- 3:00that's all right. He was insured by this company, just a nominal
- 3:04policy ten thousand pounds with double idemnity. I see, And you feel there's
- 3:07something wrong. Well, as you know, we're always reluctant to challenge your
- 3:10claim. But in this case. One of the beneficiaries asked us to investigate
- 3:15one of the beneficiaries. Specular doesn't and that's why I called you in.
- 3:20There are three of them, all Americans, all insured with us, each
- 3:23a beneficiary of the others with the survivor to get everything. Who are these
- 3:28people? They were with the American Army over here. They decided they could
- 3:31do well in England, so they opened a nightclub on Villiers Street. The
- 3:35Golden Chest gates a lot to American jurists, very successful too. Which partner
- 3:42do I contact a man named Joseph Dennison. You'll find him at the Dunstan
- 3:46Hotel. It's on the Strand, not far from Trafalgar Square. At the
- 3:57Dunstan Hotel, I was told that Dennison had just stepped out but would be
- 4:00right back. He'd been expecting me, and I was to go straight away
- 4:03to his sweet and make myself comfortable. There was no lift, so I
- 4:06climbed two flights to room three or one, as per directions. I opened
- 4:11the door and stepped inside to stop dead still as something sharp pierced the skin
- 4:15between my shoulder blades and the voice breathed against the back of my neck.
- 4:18Didn't cry out, monsieur, Oh this knife will you go into your body?
- 4:23Just call me whispering smith. But my money you took from my sister?
- 4:27Where is it? I sound like a man with a past, but
- 4:30I still know my dad. The next rust will be deeper, much deeper,
- 4:35the money? Where is it? Look, baby, you're making a
- 4:39mistake. It was you who made the mistake when you betrayed my sister.
- 4:43Do you know where they have him now? In prison? In prison because
- 4:47of you. Why don't you take a look at me. We've never seen
- 4:50each other before in our lives. Yes, I know, But I'm seeing
- 4:54your now, monsieur. And you're going to give me that money for my
- 4:57sister. Oh you're going to die. How much is it? I've got
- 5:00about twenty five pounds on me? You dare to see things like that?
- 5:05That's all for the knife? Drop it? I will come ons. That's
- 5:13better now here let me see your face? Well, yeah, I lovely?
- 5:17Aren't we have something to settle? First? What made you come here?
- 5:21You will not get away? I ask you what brought you here?
- 5:24I had friends, My sister has friends from Porteau. You'll moved to Sherbog
- 5:29from sherbog. You can hear. It's take a month. But I caught
- 5:32you and you would not get away. Who's the fellow you're after? Make
- 5:36fun of me. We'll do you no good. Look, you're making a
- 5:39mistake. How can you be so sure I'm the one? I find you
- 5:43in your apartment. That is enough for me. This isn't my apartment the
- 5:47way you came into it. I was asked to come up here and wait
- 5:49for a client of mine, the man who lives here, and I can
- 5:53prove it. I'm an insurance investigator. You can. There's the phone,
- 5:59pick it up and call the British and Colonial Insurance Association. She stared at
- 6:04me, then picked up the phone. Getting information, She asked for the
- 6:08British and Colonial Office. I mentioned Gilthorpe's name and she repeated it to the
- 6:12operator. A few moments later, the crisp tones of his voice came over
- 6:15the wire a few words, and she glanced at me with a nod,
- 6:17and then handed me the phone. He wants to speak with you. Hello,
- 6:23Gilthorpe. Having trouble raised nothing much. I haven't been able to see
- 6:27Dennison yet. Oh, by the way, what was the name of that
- 6:29other beneficiary, the third partner, Hold on a moment, I'll have a
- 6:33look. While he was having his look, my French girl was reaching for
- 6:36a chair at the time I figured her move. She was edging for the
- 6:40door. I lunged, but the chair was c against my ex and I
- 6:43went down. Oh. I sat up just in Tyler watched the door go
- 6:46shut. Hello. The phone had gone to the floor with me, so
- 6:48I picked it up again. Hello, Hello, Gilthorpe. Oh, nothing
- 6:56serious. Locate that name yet, Kennedy, n any other way I might
- 7:01help. Yes, if that fellow Dennison calls and ask him to stay somewhere
- 7:05where I can find him, you might try to club the Golden Chest.
- 7:09That's a thought I will. I called Mark Donovan and had him picked me
- 7:19up in a rented car. The Golden Chest operated as a night spot all
- 7:24right, but it had extracurricular activities on the side. Housed in a big
- 7:28room, all hush hush carpets and noise killing grapes, a big room that,
- 7:31in spite of the early hour, I had a good sprinkling of quiet
- 7:34people listening intently to the whir of roulette wheels. Hey, this is all
- 7:41right, Yeah, what are you gonna do away here? I'm looking for
- 7:46the officers of the place you want to eat me For that, I think
- 7:49I'll just pick one of these tables and try out that new system of mark.
- 7:54You'll be wasting your time and blowing your money on Not on this one,
- 7:57chump the guide had invented this one used to read gas meters. You
- 8:01ought to know something about numbers. I knew the futility of trying to argue
- 8:05against a system, so I left him and moved about, looking for doors
- 8:09that might lead me to mister Denison. I was trying one near the bar.
- 8:13When where do you think you're going? Eyes like a pair of nutmegs,
- 8:18viewed me with flat truculence, and the head in which they were set
- 8:22was not of the type to model Adam hats. He was big, he
- 8:24was tough, and Ponds couldn't have done a thing for his complexion. I
- 8:28shrugged and told him I was looking for Denison. Mister Denison wants to see
- 8:33you. We'll see you. We don't like Norsey Parkers around. You don't
- 8:37mind if I sit at the bar? Do you don't care? Will you
- 8:39sit? Just stay away from the ruddy doors. I sat out of scotch
- 8:45and soda until he drifted away. Then I left the bar and tried another
- 8:48door. I opened it into a whole carter full of more doors. I
- 8:52tried one or two of these without success, and then, well, what
- 8:58can I do for you? I'm a I was looking for a mister Dennison
- 9:01or a mister Kennedy. Mister Kennedy, mister Leslie Kennedy. I'm Leslie Kennedy.
- 9:09I hope you don't mind. I told her I didn't mind at all,
- 9:11and I put my heart into my words. She made you think of
- 9:15autumn at home, brown hair, brown eyes, freckles still left over from
- 9:20a lot of summer sunshine. You didn't have to close that door. And
- 9:24what on earth he is staring at? Well, you really can't blame me.
- 9:26When I heard this place was being run by three xgis, I naturally
- 9:30thought they'd all be masculine. I'm an x GI. I was a wax
- 9:33sergeant, so you were a wax sergeant. It's no wonder we won the
- 9:37war. We'll like get this straight. You're the third partner in this business?
- 9:41Is that? It? Why I'm from the insurance company. British and
- 9:45Colonial. I'm picking up information on Ken Norwood's death. So you're with British
- 9:50and Colonial. Are you an American and you're working for a British company?
- 9:54Oh? Why don't you stop? What's that for? You'll find a look?
- 9:58Why don't you pick up the phone and call British and Colonial. They'll
- 10:01certify me. I'm simply not interested. Maybe you have some reason for not
- 10:05wanting to make the call. What's the matter? List? I boasted for
- 10:07Owens. He wasn't around, so I thought i'd show something wrong. I
- 10:13want this man thrown out of here. Imagine you can do it just as
- 10:16well as Owen's. Can you want to make a good try? He's big
- 10:18enough. Oh thanks both of you. I'm sorry, Jerry. You don't
- 10:24need to throw a matches to ask him to leave with you. Will you
- 10:26leave Fellow to a request like that? The answer couldn't be anything else,
- 10:31but yes, go to the door with him, Jerry, the back door,
- 10:35Come on, Fellow before Owen's moves in Owens sound stuff. He is
- 10:43served as the commander during the war. He'd be tough even in Jersey City.
- 10:46All I did was tell the girl how nice looking she was women.
- 10:50She sometimes gets peeved with me when I tell her the same thing, and
- 10:52I'm her fiance. She's been upset. One of her partners was killed yesterday.
- 10:58I know That's what I want to talk to her about. They're not
- 11:01a cup insurance investigator. Do you know if miss Kennedy has any French friends?
- 11:07French? There's one girl in particular, dark beautiful, comes from Bordeaux.
- 11:11You got me, I could ask Leslie. I suggested that he leave
- 11:16it for a lighter mood, and he nodded. He stood talking to me
- 11:20in the open doorway that opened out of a small side street. Big fellow
- 11:22with a stock and bond suit and a grin to match told me his name
- 11:26was Dayton. And as we talked, someone approached us from across the street,
- 11:30a little man, slim with a black mustache that glistened in the light
- 11:33of the nearby street lamp. Is it possibly that from one of you,
- 11:37gentlemen, I might procure a seagether? Jerry Dayton nodded and reached into a
- 11:41pocket. I watched the little man carefully, with the feeling that there was
- 11:46something wrong here. Dayton produced a pack of cigarettes and a box of safety
- 11:50matches. The Frenchman took one of the smokes. Dayton struck a match for
- 11:54him. A little man stared up at both of us for an instant,
- 11:58then nodded toward the shadows behind him. Instantly, flying figures converged on a
- 12:03several of them, posing insavagely, and I were jammed against the wall,
- 12:07but something hit me in the floreat a jabbing, blinding blow. I was
- 12:09pushed down, slimed again and again and again until I went whirling into a
- 12:13giant train of spinning blackness. We'll return to the adventures of Frank Race and
- 12:28just about one minute now, back to the Adventures of Frank Race. I
- 12:46came out of it with a throbbing head and a roaring in my ears.
- 12:50The first I could understand, but it took me a moment or sort of
- 12:52realize that the roaring sound was a car engine. I managed a groan,
- 12:56and Mark Donovan spoke from the front seat. All right, take it easy,
- 13:01just stay relaxed. What do you think you're doing. I'm a hoiding
- 13:03his flying bedstead back to the apartment, where I will care for your battered
- 13:07party. Pull over to the curb right now, All right. What happened
- 13:13back there? All I know is I was at one of the roulette tables
- 13:16when it comes a hollowbealow from outside, so I dashes out with several other
- 13:20people there. You was unconscious on the sidewalk when I hight. If some
- 13:26cops hadn't farrel up just in time, you wouldn't even have been unconscious.
- 13:28You would have been dead. A cheer for the bobbies. What about the
- 13:33fella I was with Dayton? He was lying there too. Look what hit
- 13:35you guys at Bazooka Barrides Take me back there. I'll wait a second,
- 13:39I'm all right, swing this thing around and head back. It was rare
- 13:52weather for London, the clear nights with a full moon lighting the street in
- 13:54front of the Golden Chest, the street quiet and tranquil, until Mark ran
- 14:00a fall of trouble in the form of another vehicle. Why are your cross
- 14:05side morel on? What do you think you're doing? Quite a minute,
- 14:07you're driving like an old lady. I'm on ahead and your Marcus, I
- 14:11would like to point out something. Are you kidding? That guy was on
- 14:13the wrong side of straight Marcus. This is England. You were on the
- 14:18wrong side of the street. One they were on the wrong side of the
- 14:20street, and I'd like to know what's the idea yelling at me like that.
- 14:22There were two of them standing the side of the car. Now the
- 14:26smaller, older man spoke up and you're to disturbing the piece. So I'm
- 14:30the stubing the piece. Huh. What do you think your guys are anyway?
- 14:33My name is Dennis and I appen to run this place. Well,
- 14:37now, ain't that something? And I suppose your pal is the king himself?
- 14:41Huh? The name is McDonald, Inspector Scotland Yard, Scott Race.
- 14:54You think we've got enough cash to buy me a bail pun? If you'll
- 14:56stop quacking long enough, I might be able to get you out of this.
- 15:00My name is Race. Gentlemen, I'm representing the British and Colonial Insurance
- 15:03Association. I shall take care of the damage. Race, did you say
- 15:07that's it? And if you're a Dennison, you're the man I've been looking
- 15:09for him. It's a great way we meet, Brooklyn style driving in London.
- 15:13We're probably fortunate to be alive. I don't forget it. We've got
- 15:16more important things to talk about. Yes, you can tell me about your
- 15:20partner's death. Ken was found on Lower Thames Street and Billingsgate was made to
- 15:24look like an accident, but I'm claiming he was murder ken Nor was too
- 15:28sharp, too fast in his feet to get clipped by a car. I
- 15:31say he was slugged first and then run over to make a seam accidental.
- 15:35Ken was murdered. Any ideas as to why, well, Ken less Kennedy
- 15:39myself been doing all right without club being Golden chest. But somebody's trying to
- 15:43muscle in Chicago Stown. Somebody who how do I know? Just having trouble
- 15:50at so I had hands getting pushed around. Now ken Nor, it gets
- 15:54knocked off. That's why I call the insurance company. I want everybody in
- 15:58on the act. I want to straighten up. Let's go down to the
- 16:00Morgue and have a look at Norwood's body. Yeah, look at that great
- 16:21guy. Look at him. What's your verdict, inspector that it might be
- 16:26murdering, but there seems to be no indication of anything but a mortal car
- 16:30accident hit and run. Uh this mark on his temple, had you noticed
- 16:33that the bruise? I noticed it? Good? Well have been put there
- 16:38by a fender and some other part of a mortal carry. Do you mind
- 16:41telling me if you've been in France recently, mister Dennison France? Well,
- 16:45yes, I was there a few months ago. Why, oh, nothing
- 16:48tangible. You have a man named Owens working at the Golden Chest. What's
- 16:52the story on him? He's that Barns good man Cotton. Oh so that
- 16:57was Owens. I've already met him. Have you seen enough here? Race?
- 17:02I think so, and then let's get out of the place. It
- 17:04doesn't make me happy, by the way, Marcus, how did you come
- 17:18out with your roulette system? Well? Now, look at it was like
- 17:22this, right, I don't know woid who a vacuum couldn't have done a
- 17:30better job. Hey, what's what his place? Anyway? It's Dennison's hotel.
- 17:34It's gonna join us here as soon as he finishes with the Scotland yard
- 17:37man. You know, I don't get that Dennison guy. Look, why
- 17:41should he squawk over getting paid off on an insurance policy? It ain't natural.
- 17:45You might have something there, Mark, I don't know. At this
- 17:48point, I don't know much of anything about the case. You mean you
- 17:52don't see it be here? Yeah? What are we doing now? We
- 17:55step in and well, so you're here again the game. Come into this
- 18:00apartment as though you possess it a French time real paper. Wait a minute,
- 18:07she's been going through this, we miss you. I have been going
- 18:11through it, and that from part of the money taken to my sister.
- 18:15Look French, Frank. The fact that you find a few francs doesn't mean
- 18:18that they're part of the stolen money. No, miss you. Then look
- 18:22alls like this, a paper bend with the stamp of the postal department,
- 18:26the postal department of France. Let me see that you try to take it
- 18:30away from me. Oh now it's a gun. The British police don't like
- 18:34guns. You aren't like it either. If you make a wrong move there
- 18:40now you will come with me by your companion stays here. Wait a minute,
- 18:44you ain't going right. It doesn't look as though I have much choice
- 18:47with this gun against my spine. Where are we heading, baby, to
- 18:51the police who do not like guns. You're making a mistake, baby,
- 19:08just as you did when you set your friends against me earlier this evening.
- 19:11I said, no one against Stuart. What's the matter? It looks the
- 19:15still you have the one who rains this time thought men across the street.
- 19:22Well, I'm not good, Please go away. Oh I don't think so.
- 19:27He hit my arm. But they're trying to kill us. Let me
- 19:32have that pistol. No, I will keep it next week. Hit you're
- 19:37good. We're gonna have the police here. Do you still think I'm the
- 19:41bad boy in this piece? I don't know. I don't know. Maybe
- 19:44it's about time to crack it open. We're going back to Dennison's upon and
- 19:47he might be there now I'll find him at Monsieur. Wait, just all
- 20:00yours. Race Glace is tied in the drum. After all, it's almost
- 20:04four in the morning. And now do you know that dame came here?
- 20:07She was after Dennison. Come on, we're going around the back of the
- 20:08club. There's another door there. Run and run it, so we do.
- 20:15It's gonna be lock, yeah, yeah, but they hold it.
- 20:18Look now, what's the matter if you're only to him? Holy God,
- 20:22you look at that guy hanging out the window. Why is neck? It
- 20:27was an open window about six feet above the street. The body that swayed
- 20:32there had its toes within two or three inches of the sidewalk. A second,
- 20:34I'll tell my flashlight a poor guy. If it's only been a couple
- 20:38inches tall, it's a light. Look here, Race, is that guy
- 20:44Dennison? Yes, and he's as dead as he'll ever be. He must
- 20:48have done it himself. That look. Put the light back on his face
- 20:52again. Mark, No, no, over a little Yeah, that's it
- 20:56did Hey, yeah, what are you looking at it? That's square bruise
- 21:00on his temple. It's exactly like the one we saw in his partner in
- 21:04the morgue. This man didn't commit suicide. Mark, he's been murdered.
- 21:22I spent most of the next day in our own hotel room making phone calls
- 21:26across the channel to Paris, France. At the end of it, I
- 21:30figured I had the picture pretty complete. Early in the evening, Mark and
- 21:33I went back to the Golden Chest so I could see Leslie Kennedy, which
- 21:37gave me a wan smile as I stepped into her office. I want to
- 21:41apologize to your Race. I had a lot on my mind and I've been
- 21:45very difficult. Oh well, what's in your mind? Your partner's theory about
- 21:49thugs trying to move in and take over this business? Dennison was right,
- 21:55thoroughly right. I'm listening. Ever since the end of the war, a
- 21:59lot of renegades have been roving the continent, Poles, Germans, French,
- 22:02Americans, all nationalities, marauding and murdering. Now a gang of them has
- 22:07moved into England and that's what we're up againsting that more. Where's Jerry Dayton
- 22:12been living, Jerry Joe Dennison? Why that explains a little matter of a
- 22:18French girl who's been haunting Dennison's apartment. How how deeply are you in love
- 22:25with Dayton? I wish I knew? And again I'm going to ask why.
- 22:32I hate to say this, you'd better drop him. I gotta make
- 22:36on that lad to day from Paris. It's hard to believe, but he's
- 22:40a renegade American. It's been the leader of one of those marauding gangs for
- 22:44several years. He's a thief and a killer. I wish I'd heard that
- 22:51a little sooner. Race. You see, I married Jerry Dayton this very
- 22:56morning. You married? Yeah, I wasn't sure. I wanted to do
- 23:00good. Our dear little Leslie felt for a whirlwind courtship. Oh I'm sorry
- 23:04don't blame yourself, Leslie. He's a smooth operator all the way. He
- 23:08must have known about these insurance policies you three hand. Oh that's not all.
- 23:12He knew that I, as a survivor, would inherit this business.
- 23:15And he made sure that you'd be the survivor when he murdered your two partners.
- 23:19And now now he moves in and takes everything over legally. He stood
- 23:26just clear of the half open door, looking like a blonde chorus boy,
- 23:30holding an automatic in one hand while he pushed her cigarette into his mouth with
- 23:34the other. So you're not sure you care for me? Is that it
- 23:37less? She should have paid more attention to her woman's intuition. I had
- 23:41you figured for a problem, jah rais. Oh, this boy too smart,
- 23:45which was why you had me set up for that beating last night,
- 23:48wasn't it. You could have been a little smarter and backed out. I'm
- 23:52going to have to kill you you too, Leslie. That would be a
- 23:56little hard to pull off, won't it. I don't I've handled bigger things,
- 24:02such as talking that little French postal clerk in the stealing money for you.
- 24:04I happen to run short on funds you have for a cigarette, No,
- 24:08thank you, Well, I'll smoke one for both of us. But
- 24:11tipped you off to me anyway, those matches you carry the box I might
- 24:18have known you, remember that? Remember what Race? A box of safety
- 24:22matches and a clenched fist. It becomes lethal when you hit a man alongside
- 24:26the head with it. It was a trick we used during the war when
- 24:29we needed a fast, unobtrusive weapon. Dayton used it on both Norwood and
- 24:33Dennison his friends, but it left a little square bruise on each of them.
- 24:40No one else will get help to it, though. And here's where
- 24:41I make it work again. On you're monsieur. Ya are never going to
- 24:48make it work again? Oh Dames, Dames, Dames, what would you
- 25:03do without Dames? Race? Now wait a minute, No, no,
- 25:06wait a minute, when I'm not around, and even get you out of
- 25:07jams. It's gonna live, Race. The doctor just told me he won't
- 25:15live along, lady, and get him from moiter in this country to hang
- 25:18him. Sure, and he hang him high. Take it easy, Mark,
- 25:21you know this happens to be his wife. I'll get over at Race.
- 25:25I think I've had a very narrow escape Nile. I'm very grateful for
- 25:29what you've done. Well, then do me a favor. Give that French
- 25:33girl a helping hand. You know, a little money, we'll do an
- 25:37awful lot toward getting her kids sister out of a French prison. I'll do
- 25:41that Race good. That's swell, Marcus. Yeah, we shall go.
- 25:45Now, we've got to see about a plane for New York. Wait,
- 25:49wait, wait, wait a minute. Look, I ain't gonna fly.
- 25:52Yes you are. No, I ain't gonna Oh, yes you are,
- 25:56Marcus. You know it's a matter of time. We have another case waiting
- 26:00the boy. Do you know what I'm gonna do when we get back?
- 26:02No, what are you gonna do when you get back? I'm going to
- 26:03get one of those little brass plates and name play and I'm going to have
- 26:07this printed on us. Yes, Mark Donovan, boy Araplane. The Adventures
- 26:36of Frank Race, starring Paul Dubove with Tony Barrett as Mark Donovan comes to
- 26:41you from Hollywood. Others heard in tonight's cast were Gene Bates, Michael A.
- 26:45Barrett, Tom Holland, Bill Crawford, and William Johnstone. This series
- 26:51is written and directed by Joel Murcott. And Buckley Achel. The music is
- 26:56composed and played by Ivan. Did Barnes be sure to be with us again
- 27:00this time next week? Or another dramatic chapter in the Adventures of Frank Race
- 27:04Art gil Moore speaking, this is a BPS production. Welcome back, oh
- 27:47Mark Donovan not knowing which side is the correct side to drive on in England.
- 27:53I couldn't imagine from earlier episodes and making that type of mistake. Though
- 28:03it was kind of nice to to hear some of the war stuff in oss
- 28:11relationship discussed with Frank Race, which was something that was really prominent in some
- 28:15of the early episodes and I really liked and they've kind of gotten away from
- 28:19so even though it was a small mention, it was still nice. All
- 28:23right. Well, listener comments and feedback. We begin with an email from
- 28:30Andrew, who writes in what would be the chance of mystery theater played on
- 28:37the amband in the nineteen seventies, to make it on your podcast library.
- 28:41It's such a delightful way to relax and drift off to sleep or get through
- 28:45a long wait at the doctor's. Often I often will take study breaks and
- 28:49play a library selection, and I can feel myself slip into historic goal period,
- 28:53no hustle and bustle of the twenty first century. You provide such a
- 28:59wonderful, full service. Well, that's regarding this thanks so much, Changer.
- 29:03That's regarding the CBS Mystery Theater. The problem with CBS Mystery Theater is
- 29:11that all radio programs produced in the United States after February fifteenth, nineteen seventy
- 29:21two, containing a copyright rtists are under copyright, and the whole CBS Mystery
- 29:30Theater falls under that guidelines. There are some episodes that I would enjoy bringing,
- 29:40including some of their Sherlock Holmes. I would love to sample my you
- 29:44know, extend the Sherlock Holmes history. The situation with that series basically was
- 29:51a something where a lot of the residual right stuffs couldn't be worked out with
- 29:56Himan Brown. Some of the the union concessions, you know, one for
- 30:03actors kind of hampered it, hampered it Brown wanted him, and Brown wanted
- 30:12some way to do it equitably for everybody, or basically wasn't going to do
- 30:17it at all. So what ended up happening is, you know, it's
- 30:25just basically there was no official release given. There's no real issue with folks
- 30:29who have uptel now been sharing the program. It's available online in several places,
- 30:36but when something's clearly under copyright, I try to honor that. And
- 30:40also, you know not you definitely don't want to be the person who's kind
- 30:44of like, well, now they've just decided to start enforcing their copyright.
- 30:52So yeah, it's under copyrights. So short answers unfortunately not able to do
- 30:56it. Lloyd comments, you remember Sam's made Indeed, I do all right.
- 31:03Moving on now, yes we do, and that that one is on
- 31:07the list of programs we would like to be able to bring to you someday.
- 31:11And then we have this interesting comment from Bob Hi, a friend of
- 31:18mine gave me some CDs of your of four of your broadcasts, love them.
- 31:22Quick question. Do you have your broadcast recorded on CDs that you offer
- 31:26for sale? Thanks? Well, Bob, I do not have them done
- 31:33in that done in that matter, particularly with an audio CD, which would
- 31:41be different from an MP three CD where you just put all the files on.
- 31:45To be honest, I've got kind of you. I've got a several
- 31:48years old CDRW drive where as you know best I can tell it works.
- 31:53I think I recorded one or two CDs on it, and on this I'll
- 32:00kind of listen to what fans think and want, you know, if there's
- 32:02a demand for services. I've had a couple three emails on this, and
- 32:10uh, you know, it's an interest, it's an interesting idea. You
- 32:15just always want to be careful, you know, whenever you're doing something with
- 32:22an effort, you don't want to extend yourself into many directions. And that
- 32:30goes for businesses of all sizes. Netflix, for example, used to sell
- 32:37their used DVDs through the mail. They stopped doing that realizing that that wasn't
- 32:45their main business or main focused. So I'm hesitant to you know that as
- 32:52an example, I'm hesitant to broach into that area. But if there's an
- 32:57interest you, I'd be happy to you know, I'd be happy to consider
- 33:04it. So if you you know, you know people you think you'd be
- 33:07interested in audio CD, don't you know quite how to make it yourself?
- 33:12Let me know, just send some feedback. I'd love to continue this conversation
