- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, this is the Mark Simon shall On seventoor. Okay,
- 0:08Speaker 1: well it's Thursday. Lots to get to today. We'll get
- 0:12Speaker 1: to the mayoral race, a lot going on there. We'll
- 0:14Speaker 1: get to President Trump and the shutdown. We'll get to
- 0:18Speaker 1: the Yankees in the news. You got a horrific anti
- 0:22Speaker 1: Semitic terrorist attack in Manchester, England on a synagogue. Got
- 0:30Speaker 1: a crash last night, a fender bender on a runway
- 0:33Speaker 1: at La Guardia Airport. Two planes that one of the
- 0:35Speaker 1: tail hits the nose of the other. Lots of damage.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Not good, not good at all. It's jong Kapoor today,
- 0:43Speaker 1: although a little less traffic today. Restaurants packed last night.
- 0:48Speaker 1: I don't understand that they're supposed to be empty last night,
- 0:51Speaker 1: but I was on a lot of restaurants in the
- 0:53Speaker 1: world jammed last night. So the shutdown nothing will happen today.
- 1:02Speaker 1: I don't know if it's part well, in part the holiday,
- 1:04Speaker 1: but also just nothing is today. The next vote on
- 1:07Speaker 1: the shutdown on fixing this is tomorrow, Friday, eleven am.
- 1:12Speaker 1: It's not going well for the Democrats. There's a lot
- 1:15Speaker 1: of pressure on Schumer to just turn around and get
- 1:20Speaker 1: out of this ridiculous position he's put himself in. The
- 1:23Speaker 1: problem is, well, you got two problems. One, we've had
- 1:27Speaker 1: a lot of shutdowns, they happen all the time, but
- 1:30Speaker 1: this is the first time we've had when we got
- 1:32Speaker 1: two real ridiculous figures running the Democratic side. You got
- 1:37Speaker 1: Schumer and Hakeem Jefferies. Now, the problem is they're both
- 1:40Speaker 1: from New York, they're both from Brooklyn. They both come
- 1:44Speaker 1: from a liberal, far left echo chamber, and that's all
- 1:47Speaker 1: they know. These two have no contact with actual America, normal, regular,
- 1:54Speaker 1: normal Americans. They just know left wing Brooklyn, that's all
- 1:58Speaker 1: they know. Left wing Manhattan, that's all they know. So
- 2:00Speaker 1: that they exist in that bubble, and they look at
- 2:03Speaker 1: it with that perspective, which is not helping them. Schumer's
- 2:07Speaker 1: problem is he's old, tired, desperate, frightened. He's at the
- 2:10Speaker 1: end of the line. His political career is over. He
- 2:13Speaker 1: realizes it. He's going to get wiped out if he
- 2:16Speaker 1: ever tries to run again. So he's catering to the
- 2:19Speaker 1: left right now, or he thinks he is, in an awkward,
- 2:22Speaker 1: klutzy sort of way the way he does everything. And
- 2:25Speaker 1: the other problem is he got Hakeem Jeffries who's a
- 2:27Speaker 1: total humorless stiff, just a ridiculous guy who's not an
- 2:33Speaker 1: effective leader, just speaks in these stiff proclamations. He doesn't
- 2:38Speaker 1: look good on camera, he doesn't seem real. He just
- 2:41Speaker 1: looks like a mannequin. Trump has gone after him and
- 2:44Speaker 1: Schumer with the sombrero memes, which are hysterical. If you
- 2:49Speaker 1: haven't been watching he's check my Twitter. I remember most
- 2:51Speaker 1: of them are up on my Twitter. It's Schumer, Hakeem
- 2:55Speaker 1: Jeffries with the sombrero and the mustache and the Mexican music.
- 2:59Speaker 1: They're his stare recle and very funny. Everybody's laughing at them.
- 3:04Speaker 1: And Hakeem Jeffries made a huge mistake the first day
- 3:07Speaker 1: or two. He just got pompous and so serious and uh.
- 3:11Speaker 2: It's a disgusting video, and we're going to continue to
- 3:15Speaker 2: make clai biggotry will get you nowhere.
- 3:17Speaker 1: It's a meme, it's funny, they're hysterically. Nobody can watch
- 3:20Speaker 1: them and not laugh. Uh. And then the fake news
- 3:23Speaker 1: tried to play it up, you know with Civan. I'm
- 3:25Speaker 1: not siv jd Vans, jd Vans and so what about
- 3:31Speaker 1: these you're biggot memes.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Well, I think it's funny. The president's joking and we're
- 3:37Speaker 3: having a good time. You can negotiate in good faith
- 3:39Speaker 3: while also poking a little bit of fun at some
- 3:41Speaker 3: of the absurdities of the Democrats' positions, and even you know,
- 3:44Speaker 3: poking some fun at the absurdity of the Democrats themselves.
- 3:47Speaker 3: I mean, I'll tell Hakeem Jeffries right now, I make
- 3:50Speaker 3: this solemn promise to you that if you help us
- 3:52Speaker 3: reopen the government, the sombrero memes will stop.
- 3:55Speaker 1: But they're very funny. Take a look at it. They're
- 3:57Speaker 1: up on my Twitter. You can see them. Somebody must
- 4:01Speaker 1: have gotten a Hikeem Jeffries or a bunch of somebodies
- 4:05Speaker 1: and said, will you lighten up? Will you stop with
- 4:07Speaker 1: this pompous act you're doing? You look ridiculous. So now
- 4:10Speaker 1: he's trying to fight back with his own memes against Trump.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Maybe it was Gavin Newsom. Newsom has become very good
- 4:16Speaker 1: at that. He's become the king of fighting Trump fire
- 4:19Speaker 1: with Trump fire. Whatever tactics Trump uses, he'll use him
- 4:23Speaker 1: right back.
- 4:24Speaker 4: Now.
- 4:24Speaker 1: I guess you know, you could say, you know you're
- 4:26Speaker 1: not supposed to be if you're the president of the
- 4:28Speaker 1: United States. You're not supposed to be like a kid
- 4:31Speaker 1: putting funny memes up on TikTok. Well, yeah, maybe that's
- 4:36Speaker 1: the nineteen ninety nine rule or even the two thousand
- 4:38Speaker 1: and six rule, but it's twenty twenty five. The game
- 4:41Speaker 1: is being reinvented. And Trump, for all his great stuff
- 4:46Speaker 1: he can do as president, he is and you can
- 4:49Speaker 1: argue whether it's right or wrong, but he is like
- 4:51Speaker 1: a big kid. He's like a kid having fun. He's
- 4:56Speaker 1: still a private sector guy. He's not a you know,
- 5:00Speaker 1: formal you know, government politician, Washington formal, none of that
- 5:05Speaker 1: false formality. It's just himself. And this is what business
- 5:08Speaker 1: guys do. You know, This is what Wall Street guys
- 5:09Speaker 1: are famous for. It passing jokes around, memes around, laughing,
- 5:13Speaker 1: you know. So Trump has brought that sensibility to the
- 5:18Speaker 1: White House, and that's that might be the problem. He
- 5:21Speaker 1: you know, Trump is a cutting edge guy, leading the
- 5:23Speaker 1: way ahead of the curve. The problem with Schumer is
- 5:26Speaker 1: he still looks like it's nineteen ninety three. Even when
- 5:30Speaker 1: he makes those videos it's him on the Capitol steps
- 5:32Speaker 1: with the Capitol behind. It looks so old and how
- 5:35Speaker 1: dated and stiff. The whole fight now is Republicans have
- 5:40Speaker 1: reduced it to Democrats want health care for illegals, And
- 5:45Speaker 1: they'll argue and argue and argue, it's not true.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Donald Trump and Republicans have shut the government down because
- 5:51Speaker 2: they don't want to provide healthcare to working class Americans.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Now, of course that's not true. So you got lives,
- 5:58Speaker 1: you know, going all over the place. There's two lies
- 6:02Speaker 1: they'll tell. Trump wants to get it to working Americans,
- 6:05Speaker 1: and the way one way you do that is get
- 6:07Speaker 1: the illegals off off the rolls there because they're draining money.
- 6:13Speaker 1: And then the other big Democrat lie they always do
- 6:16Speaker 1: is he wants to throw them off and use the
- 6:18Speaker 1: money to hand the money to his billionaire. If nobody's
- 6:21Speaker 1: handing any money to any billionaires, the last thing the
- 6:23Speaker 1: billionaires need is government handing them any money. But does
- 6:28Speaker 1: it provide health care for illegals? Yes, absolutely, absolutely, Even
- 6:33Speaker 1: Jake Tapper, you can't get more fake news, biased left
- 6:36Speaker 1: wing than Jake Tapper. Even he last night had to
- 6:40Speaker 1: admit on the air that he's carefully read it all.
- 6:43Speaker 1: It does give health care to illegals. Now it doesn't.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Trump is exaggerating when he says it hands them a
- 6:49Speaker 1: Cadillac plan. That doesn't do that. It doesn't do that
- 6:52Speaker 1: at all. But if they do get health care, if
- 6:55Speaker 1: they do go to the hospital, they will the hospitals
- 6:58Speaker 1: everybody does get reimbursed, and that would be paying for
- 7:02Speaker 1: illegals health care. So the fight will I don't know.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Friday eleven am is the next vote. It might be
- 7:09Speaker 1: over then there. I don't know who's going to be
- 7:11Speaker 1: bugging Schumer all day and night to get off this position.
- 7:15Speaker 1: He's in a weird, weird position. Everybody thinks he's totally frightened,
- 7:20Speaker 1: scared that AOC is going to wipe him out in
- 7:22Speaker 1: the next election, and he's terrified of AOC, and that's
- 7:25Speaker 1: why he's catering to them. Here's what she had to say.
- 7:28Speaker 5: There is one reason and one reason.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Well, here's Mike Johnson.
- 7:32Speaker 5: There is one reason and one reason alone that Chuck
- 7:35Speaker 5: Schumer is leading the Democrats off this cliff. He is
- 7:37Speaker 5: trying to get political cover from the far left corner
- 7:41Speaker 5: of his base. He's afraid of a challenge for his
- 7:43Speaker 5: Senate seat by AOC.
- 7:45Speaker 3: He's worried he's going to get a primary challenge from AOC.
- 7:47Speaker 5: He is afraid of AOC over a clean sard.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Chuck Schumer is afraid of his own shadow.
- 7:54Speaker 6: And I actually think that shadow's name is AOC.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Yeah, now one at AOC. What did she say about it?
- 8:01Speaker 6: This is so not about me in this moment. If
- 8:07Speaker 6: those senators think that we're having a shutdown because of me,
- 8:10Speaker 6: they're free to enter my office and negotiate, because what
- 8:13Speaker 6: we're not going to do is allow all of millions
- 8:16Speaker 6: of people in this country to not be able to
- 8:18Speaker 6: afford their insulin and their chemotherapy. So come strike a
- 8:21Speaker 6: deal with me, if that's what they really think.
- 8:22Speaker 7: Is going on.
- 8:24Speaker 1: The real answer, yes, he's afraid of AOC. The problem
- 8:27Speaker 1: is he's at the end of his ropes, end of
- 8:29Speaker 1: the line. He can't get reelected. He's finished. He's another
- 8:33Speaker 1: Jerry Nadler. He's done. The Democrats hate him, they don't
- 8:36Speaker 1: want him. He's out. If AOC decides to run for Senate,
- 8:41Speaker 1: be easy as can be. She'll be able to fund.
- 8:43Speaker 1: The one secret of Schumer is his fundraising. Nobody is
- 8:46Speaker 1: bigger with taking care of billionaires and donors than Schumer.
- 8:50Speaker 1: That's all he does. Donors service, and that means billionaires,
- 8:54Speaker 1: special interests, unions. He takes care of them, as they'll
- 8:57Speaker 1: all the billionaires will tell you, Even the Republicans one
- 9:00Speaker 1: back Schumer. They'll say, I could wake this guy up
- 9:02Speaker 1: at two in the morning. He'll do anything I want.
- 9:04Speaker 1: They all have his cell number to get anything. Now
- 9:06Speaker 1: they have to give massive donations in exchange. So he's
- 9:09Speaker 1: always been the king of fundraising. That's why he was
- 9:11Speaker 1: never scared of an opponent. But AOC could be a
- 9:16Speaker 1: fundraising machine. She could raise a ton of money very
- 9:19Speaker 1: very fast. So he's terrified to her. If now it's
- 9:24Speaker 1: a way off, it's a year and a month from now.
- 9:28Speaker 1: By early next year, Schumer may realize there's nothing he
- 9:31Speaker 1: can do. It's over. He would announce. Then he's not
- 9:34Speaker 1: gonna seek reelection, and then he'd be free to go
- 9:38Speaker 1: back to the old Chuck Schumer from forty years ago.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Just act on principle, but don't count on it. Don't
- 9:45Speaker 1: count on it. Hey, the mayoral race, here's the problem.
- 9:49Speaker 1: The election is thirty three days away. Only thirty three
- 9:52Speaker 1: days till the election. Here's a bigger problem. It's only
- 9:56Speaker 1: twenty three days till early voting begins three days. The
- 10:01Speaker 1: debate is two weeks from tonight. Two weeks till the debate.
- 10:06Speaker 1: That could change things. Mom Donnie's very good in debates.
- 10:11Speaker 1: He ducks questions. It's not like he gives you solid answers,
- 10:15Speaker 1: but his manner. You know, he talks very quickly anytimes,
- 10:17Speaker 1: like he really knows what he's talking about. And if
- 10:18Speaker 1: you talk a little quicker, you can sound very smart.
- 10:21Speaker 1: And he's got a wonderful tone that makes him sound
- 10:23Speaker 1: like he's trying to help you. And Curtis is an
- 10:27Speaker 1: excellent debater. He's the only professional debater in the race.
- 10:31Speaker 1: He's been doing it for thirty five years. Cuomo talks
- 10:35Speaker 1: so slow. He's a bad debater, and he's a horrible debater.
- 10:41Speaker 1: That's why we have Mon Donni. If it hadn't been
- 10:44Speaker 1: for Cuomo, you would not have Mom Donnie. Cuomo gave
- 10:47Speaker 1: you Mom Donnie democratic debate, both of them, two of them.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Cuomo was so weak and old and tired and talks
- 10:55Speaker 1: so slow, and Mom Donnie was able to easily wipe
- 10:59Speaker 1: him out, and that's how he got the nomination. So
- 11:02Speaker 1: this could be in two weeks a bad, bad night
- 11:05Speaker 1: for Cuomo. Mam Donnie's great in debates, Curtis's great in debates.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Cuomo will talk so slow that he'll look so Cuomo
- 11:13Speaker 1: could wipe himself out in two weeks. Now you're gonna say, well,
- 11:17Speaker 1: he's gonna prepare and prepare and train, and they'll give
- 11:20Speaker 1: him write all kinds of lines for him. The youth. Well,
- 11:22Speaker 1: when he got wiped out in the first debate, they
- 11:24Speaker 1: did that for him in the second debate. And no
- 11:27Speaker 1: matter what he hit when Mom Donnie with Mom Donnie
- 11:30Speaker 1: just pounded him into the ground. So uh now, hey,
- 11:33Speaker 1: the commercials are running. Mom Donnie's got very sharp looking commercials,
- 11:38Speaker 1: very sharp, very well done. Mom Donnie is heavily financed.
- 11:42Speaker 1: You know, he keeps talking about these billionaires. Meantime he's
- 11:47Speaker 1: got billionaires all over the place back in him, big
- 11:49Speaker 1: money commercials. Cuomo has a new commercial which looks a
- 11:53Speaker 1: little silly. It looks like a very expensive commercial. It's
- 11:58Speaker 1: about the commercial says I don't know how to do
- 12:02Speaker 1: a lot. There's a lot of jobs I go. And
- 12:05Speaker 1: then it shows him working at a car wash. Then
- 12:08Speaker 1: it shows him hanging off a skyscraper as a window washer,
- 12:12Speaker 1: and then it shows him driving the subway train, all
- 12:15Speaker 1: these different looks very expensive, all these things. Well, it
- 12:18Speaker 1: turns out it was AI and it's very well done
- 12:21Speaker 1: with AI. Looks very real, but it shows him in
- 12:25Speaker 1: all these different sort of jobs. And then it comes
- 12:28Speaker 1: to but there's only one thing I know how to do,
- 12:31Speaker 1: and that's run government. But it's kind of a silly commercial.
- 12:36Speaker 1: I don't know. Now there's one that Curtis has a
- 12:39Speaker 1: lot of good commercials. They're not attacking Mamdannie so much.
- 12:43Speaker 1: They're more pro Curtis and the latest one. Half the
- 12:46Speaker 1: commercially he's got the Bereton. Half the commercially he doesn't
- 12:49Speaker 1: have the Bereton. But they're very good commercials. Mamdannie and
- 12:53Speaker 1: Curtis definitely the best commercials. Cuomo's look a little silly. Hey,
- 12:58Speaker 1: by the way, You know how they always say, ohoh,
- 13:00Speaker 1: never apologize. You know, he killed ten thousand seniors, He
- 13:04Speaker 1: killed people's grandparents and nursing homes, and a lot of
- 13:07Speaker 1: the critics say that's his main problem. He's never been
- 13:10Speaker 1: able to apologize. He can't admit to it, he can't apologize,
- 13:14Speaker 1: and that's been the case. But he made a video
- 13:20Speaker 1: apologizing to the Jewish community, the Orthodox Jewish community. He
- 13:25Speaker 1: made this video and distributed it just within the private
- 13:28Speaker 1: Orthodox community. You can find it online if you're looking
- 13:32Speaker 1: for it. But he apologizes to them. He said, I
- 13:35Speaker 1: sincerely apologize. He apologizes for the lockdown and what he
- 13:39Speaker 1: did and how he locked everything down, and he said,
- 13:42Speaker 1: I didn't realize how he was interfering with some religious
- 13:46Speaker 1: practices of yours and some important cultural traditions of yours.
- 13:50Speaker 1: And I sincerely apology was very, very sincere apology, but
- 13:54Speaker 1: just for this one group. And the problem is is
- 13:58Speaker 1: that starts to leak out the seniors that were killed,
- 14:02Speaker 1: all the people that had people killed, robbed, raped, or
- 14:06Speaker 1: became crime victims as a result of Cuomo's no bail,
- 14:09Speaker 1: no jail. They're all gonna say, where's our apology, where's
- 14:12Speaker 1: our apology video? How come we didn't get it?
- 14:15Speaker 4: Hey?
- 14:15Speaker 1: Speaking of which, great speech by Ray Kelly yesterday for
- 14:19Speaker 1: our Police Athletical League lunch and Ray Kelly the greatest
- 14:21Speaker 1: police commissioner ever. But you know, Mamdani, everything he proposes
- 14:26Speaker 1: is a complete hoax. I'm gonna make free, the buses
- 14:30Speaker 1: will be free. He has no power to make the
- 14:32Speaker 1: buses free. It's the MTA or whatever he's proposing, he
- 14:37Speaker 1: has no power to do it. Now, one of the
- 14:39Speaker 1: big proposals, I'm gonna have social workers answer domestic violence calls. Now,
- 14:45Speaker 1: you know, any cop will tell you the most dangerous
- 14:47Speaker 1: thing you can respond to is these domestic violence calls.
- 14:50Speaker 1: That's where there's a gun and knife, a bat. It's
- 14:52Speaker 1: really dangerous. So he keeps talking about that we don't
- 14:55Speaker 1: need to send the cops and will send in social workers.
- 15:00Speaker 1: So Ray Kelly points out, now, nobody knows policing and
- 15:03Speaker 1: law enforcement better than Ray Kelly, and he's been doing
- 15:06Speaker 1: it for years and years and years, points out, and
- 15:09Speaker 1: I didn't realize this. The police department, the NYPD has
- 15:12Speaker 1: tried that dozens of times over thirty years. They've tried
- 15:16Speaker 1: it a number of times. They've tried it over and
- 15:19Speaker 1: over and over again. A doesn't work and b ends
- 15:22Speaker 1: up in a total disaster for these healthcare workers. Also,
- 15:26Speaker 1: one of the reasons they have a problem with it,
- 15:29Speaker 1: the social workers won't do it. They don't want to
- 15:31Speaker 1: go into one of these the most dangerous police call
- 15:34Speaker 1: there is without police with them. They don't want to
- 15:37Speaker 1: do it. So he also pointed out Memphis just tried
- 15:39Speaker 1: it and it ended in total disaster. It never ever
- 15:43Speaker 1: ever works. But that's a Mamdani theme. Socialism. Whatever doesn't
- 15:48Speaker 1: work everywhere it's tried. That's what I'm proposing. Hey, we'll
- 15:52Speaker 1: take some calls. Next eight hundred three to two one
- 15:55Speaker 1: zero seven ten. Is the number, eight hundred three to
- 15:58Speaker 1: two one zero seven ten give WR Obre said on
- 16:03Speaker 1: the iHeartRadio app.
- 16:04Speaker 3: To hear Mark Simone and all the WR hosts in
- 16:08Speaker 3: an instance, go.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Back to the Mark Simo show on WOR. Hey, let's
- 16:15Speaker 1: take some calls. Let's go to Victor in Pennsylvania. Victor,
- 16:18Speaker 1: how you doing.
- 16:20Speaker 4: I'm doing great. First thing is I just heard this
- 16:23Speaker 4: morning that Leticia the idiot James is suing Trump again.
- 16:28Speaker 4: When is she being brought up on.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Her yess getting closer. It's getting closer. She will be
- 16:35Speaker 1: charged with mortgage fraud in Virginia. You got a new
- 16:39Speaker 1: US attorney who's in there working on it. She will
- 16:42Speaker 1: be charged. And look for Adam Schiff to be on
- 16:45Speaker 1: the list. Look for John Bolton to be indicted. He's
- 16:49Speaker 1: in real trouble. Let's go to Joe in New York City.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Joe how you doing.
- 16:54Speaker 7: Good morning, Mark, Mark. Some people do not want to
- 16:57Speaker 7: vote because they think their names we put on your
- 17:00Speaker 7: jury duty. You listen, they don't want to do jury.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Yeah. No, let's just point out that's a total myth.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Maybe that was true fifty years ago. They get the
- 17:08Speaker 1: list from drivers' licenses, from rent rolls, from taxpayer roles.
- 17:12Speaker 1: It has nothing to do with them, nothing to do
- 17:14Speaker 1: with voting, nothing to do with no connection. They use
- 17:17Speaker 1: every list imaginable now, so that that's an old myth.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Let's go to Richard and Bayshore. Richard, how you doing.
- 17:25Speaker 8: I'm doing well, Mark, good morning. You know right now,
- 17:27Speaker 8: forty five percent or so of MTA bus passengers are
- 17:31Speaker 8: not paying their fares anyway, it's through law enforcement, nullification
- 17:36Speaker 8: of the law, let's say, by the mayor if it's
- 17:38Speaker 8: made public.
- 17:39Speaker 1: That true. Excellent point. You know this crazy MTA, Jano
- 17:43Speaker 1: liber and Hokel. They've decided to raise the fare on
- 17:46Speaker 1: the subways and buses, and there is an actual, formal,
- 17:50Speaker 1: actual study that's come out showing that half the people
- 17:54Speaker 1: are not paying the fare. They're just not paying and
- 17:57Speaker 1: nobody's enforcing it. And the what they claim they need
- 18:00Speaker 1: with the fare increase, could you could easily get much
- 18:03Speaker 1: more if you just started enforcing the fares so and
- 18:07Speaker 1: it's easy to do. You can stop turnstile jumping in
- 18:10Speaker 1: two weeks. Ray Kelly did it, Bratton did it, Giuliani did.
- 18:13Speaker 1: It's easy to do. You just started enforcing it where
- 18:16Speaker 1: it gets around real fast and nobody jumps the turnstile anymore.
- 18:18Speaker 1: So no need for that increase that they're they're going
- 18:21Speaker 1: to push on us. Let's go to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent,
- 18:25Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 18:26Speaker 4: Good morning, Mark, Mark. I'm okay. Mark. You forgot to
- 18:29Speaker 4: mention the fact that also yesterday, with these fare increases,
- 18:33Speaker 4: they're raising the easy pass holes in everything.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, you're right now, all the bridges, tunnels,
- 18:38Speaker 1: everything exactly.
- 18:40Speaker 4: So gee, I thought the congestion pricing was supposed to
- 18:44Speaker 4: take care of all of this. I guess it's not so.
- 18:47Speaker 4: Mark AOC was crowing about if Trump doesn't sign this
- 18:52Speaker 4: Hakeem Jeffreys healthcare bill, this budget bill, people are gonna
- 18:57Speaker 4: go without their cancer tree and people are going to
- 19:00Speaker 4: be dropping dead in the streets. Well, hello, I hope
- 19:04Speaker 4: the Supreme Court revisits the case about people showing up
- 19:09Speaker 4: at the er with no health insurance and making the
- 19:14Speaker 4: state and the city have to pick up the tab.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Because when and you'll remember this, when Bill Deblasia was
- 19:21Speaker 4: running for math, there was a hospital of my neighborhood
- 19:25Speaker 4: and he actually got arrested. He went in front of
- 19:27Speaker 4: the hospital and said, there's no way you're going to
- 19:29Speaker 4: close this hospital, this, that and the other. Right, Okay,
- 19:33Speaker 4: Bill de Blasio got elected. The hospital was losing twenty
- 19:37Speaker 4: five million dollars a month because when you would go
- 19:42Speaker 4: in the er and I knew a god that was
- 19:44Speaker 4: working in the ear, it looked like the Bowery in there.
- 19:47Speaker 4: It looked like bum's row. Right, So it was losing
- 19:51Speaker 4: twenty five million dollars a month. And a lot of
- 19:54Speaker 4: the hospitals in New York City, downstate Beth Israel, a
- 19:59Speaker 4: lot of same things they closed exactly because all these
- 20:03Speaker 4: bums shown up at.
- 20:04Speaker 1: The Now, that's what that's what, that's what really is
- 20:07Speaker 1: in the fight that you want to Democrats say it's
- 20:09Speaker 1: not going to cover health care for It absolutely does.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Absolutely these fact checkers, all these fake factcheckers, it absolutely does.
- 20:16Speaker 1: That's where it covers it. It reimburses the hospital for
- 20:19Speaker 1: all those costs and exactly.
- 20:21Speaker 4: But there is a lot of costs like for example,
- 20:26Speaker 4: yesterday I had to go and see a new orthopedic surgeon.
- 20:29Speaker 4: I wasn't in the system, so I had to So
- 20:31Speaker 4: when they when I made the appointment, the secretary told
- 20:35Speaker 4: me you got to bring your insurance god, and you
- 20:38Speaker 4: got to bring positive ID. You got to bring a
- 20:41Speaker 4: driver's license or a passport unless you're not going through
- 20:46Speaker 4: the front door, because they want to know that if
- 20:49Speaker 4: you don't pay, if some something is not paid out
- 20:52Speaker 4: on they want to know where to bill your vincent.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Great call, thanks for calling always great.
- 20:58Speaker 7: Uh.
- 20:59Speaker 1: By the way, oh, we have to have a driver's license.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Well they've come out with a new driver's license now
- 21:05Speaker 1: with no name on it. It's a it'll actually say
- 21:08Speaker 1: where the name is. It'll say no name given. You
- 21:09Speaker 1: can have a blank driver's license with no name. This
- 21:12Speaker 1: is not a joke. Remind me. We'll get to it
- 21:14Speaker 1: in the next hour. But when we come back, Steve
- 21:17Speaker 1: Moore will be with us. The brilliant economist coming up
- 21:20Speaker 1: next on seven to ten wor.
- 21:24Speaker 5: Mark Simon.
- 21:31Speaker 1: We're looking for Steve Moore. What a shot, hun Now
- 21:34Speaker 1: he'll turn up. I'll bet you we find him. You
- 21:37Speaker 1: know then I don't want to predict, but I bet
- 21:40Speaker 1: you we'll find him. So hey, if you want a
- 21:44Speaker 1: luxury home, how much you have to spend a luxury home?
- 21:48Speaker 1: What's considered a luxury home? How much? A million dollars? No,
- 21:53Speaker 1: that won't do it anymore. It used to, but according
- 21:58Speaker 1: to realtor dot com, a millionion dollars will no longer
- 22:01Speaker 1: buy a luxury home in America anymore. A new analysis
- 22:05Speaker 1: shows one point three million, at least one point three
- 22:09Speaker 1: million starting point for a luxury home, and that they
- 22:13Speaker 1: could what they call luxury home is if it's in
- 22:15Speaker 1: the top ten percent of the home listings. But to
- 22:18Speaker 1: get in the top ten percent, you now need to
- 22:20Speaker 1: spend one point three million. Just ten years ago, it
- 22:23Speaker 1: was eight hundred thousand. Now if you want to get
- 22:27Speaker 1: in the top one percent, got to be five and
- 22:32Speaker 1: a half million. And obviously geography is a factor. It's
- 22:36Speaker 1: different in different areas, so prices and you know, prices
- 22:41Speaker 1: keep going up here in New York. I know, the
- 22:43Speaker 1: birthing small. Everybody's going to flee if Mom Donnie comes in,
- 22:46Speaker 1: and it's going to cause a real estate crash. Prices
- 22:48Speaker 1: are going up every day for rentals, for sales everywhere. Well,
- 22:53Speaker 1: we got Steve Moore, the great economist. Get his book,
- 22:56Speaker 1: The Trump Economic Miracle. Check out. He runs the Committee
- 22:59Speaker 1: to Unleashed Prosperity. Go to the website. Sign up for
- 23:02Speaker 1: the daily briefing, best news and analysis. Just go to
- 23:06Speaker 1: Unleash Prosperity dot com. Steve Moore, how you doing well?
- 23:11Speaker 7: Hey, Mark, Good to be with you. And a terrible
- 23:13Speaker 7: because you know the I just can't sleep at night
- 23:15Speaker 7: because the Labor Department and Education Department are closed down.
- 23:18Speaker 7: I mean, how am I going to go forward?
- 23:21Speaker 1: Yeah? Hey, don't you know we've got.
- 23:22Speaker 7: Thousands, hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of thousands of these
- 23:25Speaker 7: quote non essential you know that's their term, non essential
- 23:28Speaker 7: government employees. And we've got we've got an enterprise year
- 23:31Speaker 7: that's losing two trillion dollars a year. Hmm. Maybe Russell
- 23:35Speaker 7: Bob is right. Maybe we just do away with all
- 23:37Speaker 7: these non essential people and we can move to a
- 23:40Speaker 7: balanced budget.
- 23:41Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, people forget we have a government shutdown
- 23:44Speaker 1: every week five o'clock Friday night, they shut down for.
- 23:46Speaker 7: Two days exactly. Well, you know, the funny thing is
- 23:50Speaker 7: I guess it's funny. But you know, every I think,
- 23:53Speaker 7: as you know, Mark, every Friday morning, the first Friday
- 23:56Speaker 7: of every month, at eight three in the morning, I'm
- 24:00Speaker 7: with Maria about Aroma. Who does the jobs report? You
- 24:03Speaker 7: know when the big jobs number comes out. They're not
- 24:05Speaker 7: going to do it tomorrow. Did you know that? It's
- 24:08Speaker 7: I've been told that there will not be a jobs
- 24:10Speaker 7: report because they can't I guess count when the government
- 24:13Speaker 7: to shut down. So we'll we will see about that.
- 24:16Speaker 7: But look, if this is, uh, this is the Schumer shutdown.
- 24:20Speaker 7: You're there in New York, so you've got a lot
- 24:22Speaker 7: of New Yorker voters there. Schumer wanted the shutdown. I
- 24:25Speaker 7: said this a couple of weeks ago, that Schumer was
- 24:27Speaker 7: going to shut the government down. That's exactly what he
- 24:29Speaker 7: has done. But it's not working for the Democrats. I
- 24:31Speaker 7: don't think Mark. I mean, I'm talking to his normal
- 24:33Speaker 7: people all the time. They're like, why are the Democrats
- 24:35Speaker 7: doing this? Is it really because they just want to
- 24:38Speaker 7: provide free healthcare? They're legal immigrants.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Now they'll say that's a lie, it's a Republican lie.
- 24:43Speaker 1: But tell us the truth.
- 24:44Speaker 7: It does but it's not a lie. I mean is
- 24:47Speaker 7: I read the text of their version, and it repeals
- 24:52Speaker 7: the provision in the Republican budget that says you are
- 24:56Speaker 7: not permitted that Medicaid dollars can only go to people
- 25:00Speaker 7: who are either legal citizens or legal immigrants in the country.
- 25:04Speaker 7: So that pretty much leaves illegal immigrants out.
- 25:08Speaker 1: But I was watching Morning Joe, and according to him,
- 25:11Speaker 1: you guys, you're just all to give money to billionaires.
- 25:15Speaker 1: That's all came.
- 25:16Speaker 7: Right, like, though he doesn't say the billionaires are playing
- 25:20Speaker 7: more of the taxes than ever before in American history.
- 25:22Speaker 7: The top one percent pay a larger share of the
- 25:24Speaker 7: tax of income tax than anytime ever since we invented
- 25:28Speaker 7: the income tax and back in nineteen thirteen. So those
- 25:32Speaker 7: are those are just talking points from the Democrats. But
- 25:35Speaker 7: I just don't get it. I mean, I think Schumer's
- 25:39Speaker 7: kind of thing is is bath learned he lost, as
- 25:41Speaker 7: you know, he lost three Democratic senators in the vote
- 25:44Speaker 7: that happened before that, and I think if you had
- 25:47Speaker 7: another vote, he'd probably lose another three or four. And again,
- 25:50Speaker 7: I want to make sure people understand this mark because
- 25:52Speaker 7: you know, we have Byzantine rules in Washington, so people say, well, look,
- 25:56Speaker 7: the Republicans don't call the House the Senate and the
- 25:58Speaker 7: White House. Why is the government shut down? It's because
- 26:01Speaker 7: it takes sixty votes in the Senate, sixty out of
- 26:03Speaker 7: one hundred to pass the budget, and all the Republicans
- 26:07Speaker 7: and three Democrats voted for that. But that only brought
- 26:10Speaker 7: us to what fifty five or fifty six, So that's
- 26:12Speaker 7: why there's still five votes are short. But I bet
- 26:15Speaker 7: if they had a vote tomorrow, I think you've been
- 26:18Speaker 7: getting close to sixty. Because the Democrats are getting hammered
- 26:21Speaker 7: on this. Nobody understands what it is that they're after here.
- 26:24Speaker 7: It's just show voting and trying to embarrass Trump and
- 26:27Speaker 7: trying to get more money. And by the way, I'm
- 26:29Speaker 7: very pro immigration. I think immigrants are great, but no,
- 26:32Speaker 7: you can't let all these people come into the country
- 26:34Speaker 7: and then go to the go and use our healthcare
- 26:36Speaker 7: services and you and I pay for it.
- 26:39Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 26:40Speaker 1: No, we love immigration. We just don't like illegals. I mean,
- 26:42Speaker 1: I love far exactly, I love pharmacists, but I don't
- 26:45Speaker 1: like you illegal drug.
- 26:46Speaker 7: Dealers, I mean legal exactly.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Apparently there is a vote tomorrow eleven am. That's when
- 26:54Speaker 1: they may vote again tomorrow.
- 26:56Speaker 7: Okay, and I'll bet you I don't know if they'll
- 26:58Speaker 7: get to sixty, but they're going to get close because
- 27:00Speaker 7: the Democrats are feeling the anger of the American people.
- 27:04Speaker 7: And by the way, this does cost money. That's the
- 27:06Speaker 7: other thing that rush Bott is saying is like, well,
- 27:08Speaker 7: you know, when we have these non essential people not
- 27:11Speaker 7: go to the office, did you know they get paid? Yeah, everybody,
- 27:16Speaker 7: They still get paid. Now, showing on for not having
- 27:19Speaker 7: to work costs. I wish my boss had said that
- 27:21Speaker 7: you can I show up for the office tomorrow, but
- 27:23Speaker 7: I'm still going to pay you. Yeah.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Hey, Steve Moore, let me ask you something. You're a
- 27:27Speaker 1: brilliant economist. We've got great economists, you, Art Laugher, Larry Cudlow,
- 27:32Speaker 1: Steve Forbes. Then you got forty thousand other economists. They
- 27:36Speaker 1: never know what the hell they're talking about, and they're
- 27:38Speaker 1: always wrong. Why is that?
- 27:40Speaker 7: Yeah, well, we had something in our hotline this morning
- 27:43Speaker 7: about that, and if you want to get that for free,
- 27:45Speaker 7: focus go down leash prospirty dot com and sign up
- 27:47Speaker 7: for free. But we looked at the forecast of all
- 27:52Speaker 7: the blue chip economists, all the smartest economists at all the
- 27:54Speaker 7: big you know, banks and investment firms and so on,
- 27:57Speaker 7: the ones that are paid million dollars a year to
- 27:59Speaker 7: come up with these forecasts, and they are the blue
- 28:02Speaker 7: chip all the blue chip forecasts. There was almost no exceptions.
- 28:05Speaker 7: They all basically, Oh, we're gonna have one and a
- 28:07Speaker 7: half percent economic growth this year, blah blah blah. Guess what,
- 28:10Speaker 7: both in the second and third quarter we had a
- 28:12Speaker 7: closer four percent growth. How could they be more wrong?
- 28:15Speaker 7: I mean, I would take it's almost like playing pin
- 28:18Speaker 7: the tail on the donkey with the blindfolded person and
- 28:20Speaker 7: you know, trying to put I mean their their projections
- 28:24Speaker 7: have been completely wrong and the economy's done much better
- 28:27Speaker 7: this year than almost all of the economy. Remember Paul Krugman,
- 28:32Speaker 7: that one he said, oh my god, we're gonna have
- 28:33Speaker 7: a second great depression of Trump goes back into office.
- 28:36Speaker 8: Well, I don't know.
- 28:37Speaker 7: I looked at the stock markets doing pretty well.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Well. You know, I could understand the New York Times
- 28:42Speaker 1: hiring a total sleazy, biased economist. But if you're a
- 28:46Speaker 1: big Wall Street firm, you got to get it right.
- 28:48Speaker 7: How can we got it all wrong?
- 28:50Speaker 1: Don't you have to fire the economists to get I mean,
- 28:52Speaker 1: baseball manager gets fired if you losees too many games.
- 28:55Speaker 7: Exactly. No, But that's the thing about you know, the
- 28:58Speaker 7: the economics and power takes it. It doesn't matter how
- 29:01Speaker 7: much many times.
- 29:01Speaker 1: You're wrong, you know.
- 29:03Speaker 7: I mean people have written whole books about Paul Krupman
- 29:05Speaker 7: about almost every prediction he ever made. You know, he
- 29:08Speaker 7: remembers he said Internet, that's just a passing fab remember
- 29:11Speaker 7: that one.
- 29:14Speaker 1: The dumbest guy ever. Doesn't he have a Nobel prize.
- 29:18Speaker 7: He does, he has a Nobel Prize in economics. So
- 29:20Speaker 7: that's you know who deserves. By the way, since this
- 29:23Speaker 7: is Nobel time, you know the guy who really does
- 29:26Speaker 7: deserve the Nobel Prize, who's probably the most influential living economy.
- 29:29Speaker 7: I mean I don't think probably, I think certainly is
- 29:32Speaker 7: the most impactful economists over the last you know, twenty
- 29:36Speaker 7: five years all over the world is out there laugher
- 29:41Speaker 7: and he still doesn't have a he doesn't have a
- 29:42Speaker 7: Nobel prize yet.
- 29:44Speaker 1: Well, he's got to be Trump bashing.
- 29:46Speaker 7: And he's got to be much he did that, he
- 29:49Speaker 7: gets that Nobel prize in five minutes.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Well, Steve Moore great work. Now he runs the committee
